that was super exciting and surprising, but it's still deeply unclear to me who these characters are and when they jump into the storyline of our beloved angels ... could anyone be so kind and patient to explain it to me? 😭💓

Okay, so now that I've finished One Piece, I'm going to tell you all about some things I had figured out before I started reading it, I just hadn't quite figured them out right...

Okay, start with the big one. I genuinely thought that (for the most part) this was just a big fun 27 year treasure hunt. I had no idea about the overarching plot with the world government and void century and what the fuck is going on

I knew pretty much everyone was an orphan, but my gosh. Some of those backstories are really traumatic.

I really expected Shanks to have a bigger/mentorship role. He's shown up like. half a dozen times. Luffy hasn't seen him since he was a kid

I also expected Buggy to be a bigger villain. No. He's just some idiot who somehow failed his way to the top. I love it.

Kay. So I knew Ace died. But for some reason I thought it was a more recent thing. No, it's been like 15 years, I had no idea

I knew Ace and Luffy were brothers. And I knew Ace was Roger's son. And I knew Luffy was Dragon's son. But I learned all of these at different times long before I decided to read one piece, so I never thought about it enough to go 'hey hang on that doesn't add up'

Similarly, I knew Kinemon had said he was Momonosuke's father, and I also knew Momonosuke was Oden's son. But I never thought that hard about that one either

I knew one of the warlords was a Doflamingo, and I knew Law was raised by a Doflamingo. I did not realize they were two seperate people. I was so confused before I read Law's backstory

I knew Momo and Kaido were dragons, and I knew the celestial dragons were a thing, but I didn't know what they were, so I was expecting more actual dragons. I was very disappointed to find out they're just rich assholes.

Also, you guys really sold zosan. They didn't interact nearly as much as I was expecting.

now i'm so sorry for being ignorant or whatever but i was watching doctor who and i literally jumped when i heard this ????? is this michael sheen's voice ???? out of fcking nowhere ????? am i going crazy ??????

this was towards the end of the episode, i looked up on the internet and there is not one mention of him voicing a random character in doctor who s3 ep1 so i really don't know what to believe T____T my ears and my mind think immediately of michael when listening to this short clip, but a part of me tells me i'm most definitely wrong and i should just go to sleep.

not sure who needs to hear this but anger is not inherently a "problematic" emotion and it shouldn't always be categorized as a "toxic trait" for narcissism or abusers

#doesn't mean you should be angry ALL the time because that's not good either #like ofc please take the proper steps to help manage any excessive anger issues in a healthy manner but besides that #but if something made you upset for a logical reason then there is nothing wrong about expressing those feelings in a civil manner #that's literally how you work out conflict to get issues sorted out #as long as you're not taking your anger out on people or constantly using it as an excuse for making dick moves on people #yes it can be uncomfortable or frightening to see someone mad - but it's likely something that can be simmered down or managed appropriatel #context: nothing serious except somebody irl said that i'm 'nice except for when you're mad' #so i'm nice except for when i express a human emotion... interesting #it just got me thinking how so often in society people villainize 'anger' as an emotion so much and it just doesn't solve a lot imo #i think it would be more effective if you took that energy into actually talking it out with whoever's mad (if possible) #like most of the time it is merely a misunderstanding or miscommunication #nine times outta ten there is a solution to the issue where a happy medium can be achieved #not me saying this when i'm still getting over my fear of confrontation lol #but yeah hopefully i'm making sense #personal #tw vent
