The Four Placid Seas are as wide as the years are long. A wild goose flies over a pond, leaving behind a voice in the wind. A man passes through this world, leaving behind a name.

Sweet! Here come some Hellsing x-over thoughts:
Some sub-group within Millennium decides to attempt summoning a demon and they get (drum roll please) Alastor. Shocker. Alastor's amused by the situation he's found himself in. He wasn't aware mortal souls could be summoned like the ancient powers of Hell but he's entertained by the notion. Then he notices who exactly has summoned him. Alastor has his morals, twisted as they are.
He waits. He observes. And then, the moment these fools let their guards down, he strikes.
Breaking through the summoning circle, he slaughters each and every one of the Nazis who were foolish enough to think they had any control over him in the first place. Radios everywhere play the cackling sound of his laughter mixed with the soldiers' screams.
With that done, Alastor decides to go out and explore. See how much has changed in the time he's been dead. There's a little wibbly wobbly timey wimey-ness, with the passage of time on earth not perfectly aligning with the passage of time in hell and yes this is my excuse to handwave away Alastor being summoned from his present in Hazbin Hotel to the present in Hellsing (which I think is only a decade or two apart but still.)
Although he's more human-looking than most demons, he's still very obviously inhuman so it's not like he's blending in with the crowds. Instead he's poking his nose into whatever Millennium is up to and hunting down and devouring Nazis at his leisure. Of course, the trail of carnage he leaves behind draws the attention of both Hellsing and the Iscariot Organization. However, since both groups are hyper-specialized in facing vampires, they're not quite prepared to deal with Alastor.
When Alastor's attacked by the Iscariot Organization the first time, even he's surprised by how little their human-blessed silver stings. It just doesn't have the same bite as proper angelic steel. He slaughters the entire squad that was sent to eliminate except for the newbie whose survival instinct overwrote their training and fled once everyone else had been reduced to piles of mush on the ground. Alastor could have killed them. He didn't. Chasing a fleeing opponent isn't worth his time. This is how the Vatican finds out about him, although since the survivor was only able to describe their opponent as a tall, smiling demon dressed all in red who commanded tangible darkness, they of course think that the Hellsing Organization's pet vampire Alucard was responsible. The uneasy truce between the two organizations is shattered while Alastor barely even knows who either group is.
The first member of the Hellsing Organization he properly meets is Seras Victoria. He takes an instant liking to her; she's a charming vampire belle, a bit dim but strong-spirited and well-mannered. She's very obviously wary of him, assuming he's a vampire like her or Alucard. Alastor has his fun teasing her while also wheedling her for information about this war he's found himself drawn into the middle of and the main groups involved, which she unfortunately is a newcomer to as well. But he vanishes before Seras can decide whether she should shoot him or bring him back to Integra.
Only when she returns to Hellsing HQ, he pops up right behind her, having apparently hitched a ride in her shadow. The very second he reveals himself in Integra's office he has a dozen guns pointed at his face. Alastor just calmly introduces himself, to the bewilderment of every (somewhat) sane person present.
Alucard is the only one to take Alastor's hand and introduce himself back.
Other disjointed thoughts:
Alastor's pretty much just come to Hellsing for information. He's already sort of mixed up in their affairs and between them, Millennium, and the Iscariot Organization, he finds them the least objectionable. He has no genuine interest in their mission or aligning himself with them and doesn't exactly hide it.
He's still following his weird morals. And Nazis just so happen to meet every criteria he has for 'people who deserve to experience horrific, excruciating agony where even death is not a mercy.'
Alucard is the only person to recognize straight away that Alastor isn't a vampire of any sort.
Although Alastor and Alucard are superficially similar, they don't exactly like one another. Alastor thinks Alucard's a brute, and Alucard finds him unscrupulous. They respect one another's strength, however.
Pip gets more than a little irritated over how quickly Seras warms up to Alastor. Especially since Alastor's pretty quick to shut down his and his mercenaries' crude jokes directed towards her, no matter how much he tries to explain it's 'all in good fun.'
Doc wants to dissect Alastor. Alastor's flattered by the attention.
During the final battle, Alastor develops a particularly intense hatred of Enrico Maxwell when he begins slaughtering civilians and combatants alike. He just can't stand those who can't show a little respect to those of fairer means...
(Bonus optional RadioApple: The moment Alastor got yoinked out of hell, Lucifer started scrambling trying to find a way back to earth to bring Alastor home.)

Were there ever any time you overwrote the game (either via coding something in, closed the game before saving to try again, or even changing story events for the comic) because you thought it was better for whatever the story demanded? (If you have don't tell us what..... yet)
YES I have!! The biggest one is Gravel
In the game, Gravel was originally a random rogue that they met on patrol, she wasn’t related to anybody, they never joined the clan or interacted with anybody, and she had a really lame death offscreen after like. five moons lmao. BUT I wanted more for my purple trans sparklemom so I CODED HER BACK INTO THE GAME and now I get a much more interesting plot with her!

Something I’m really curious about is Guideau’s past, and why exactly Ashaf is so intent on helping them.
During the Four Levels Below arc, when Guideau and Ashaf are imprisoned, it opens with Guideau having a dream.
Tumblr media
The question is, who is talking to who, is it Guideau telling Anna/Anya to run? Or is it perhaps an interaction that they witnessed? Is the dream itself linked to where Guideau is, or is it the apparent nightmare that has persisted up until the cursed object/Seed-Child in the Nameless Seed arc slipped into Guideau’s bed?
Tumblr media
This scene itself brings up another question:
If the seed-child feeds on magic, and isn’t really a person but a cursed object, does that mean its feeding on Guideau’s dreams/nightmares?
Although, i doubt that anyone besides the satue is actually aware of Guideau’s dreams.
Considering we know the circumstances of how Ashaf and Guideau met, I’m interested in learning why exactly Ashaf is so keen on helping Guideau, outside of his own curiosity. He goes above and beyond to help them, and this is made obvious primarily in the Four Levels Below arc, where he overwrote his own brain to get them back.
And even before that, when he realized Angela had tricked Guideau into seeking her out.
Tumblr media
I have a theory, albeit something very unlikely.
I think that Guideau has some form of amnesia, they keep having these dreams, but don’t truly seem to understand why, and their general lack of understanding of things that most would seem natural. They are beastial in nature, but in their original body they still have sentience and a humanoid form.
So I think Ashaf met Guideau at some point, and Guideau doesn’t remember because of their amnesia.
It’s easy to say that we know Guideau’s main goals, get revenge/kill Angela, return to their original body, but we know nothing of what lead up to this.
And, like stated previously, we don’t know why Ashaf has decided to help them.
It could be for something for his own gain, or what I think it is, he has some connection to Guideau that the audience has not been privy to.
And while yes there have several implications made by both Ashaf and the people around him and Guideau, what feelings Ashaf harbors for Guideau are. I would say, unknown.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whatever it is that happened between Angela and Guideau, I wonder if Guideau even remembers anything before the body switch happened.
Given their lack of social understanding, not knowing what is happening in their dreams/nightmares which seem to be flashbacks, and the fact that Ashaf has had to teach them several things about just being a person, if that makes sense.
Anyway, uhhh thats my sorta theory? I guess? Mix of theory and analysis i suppose.

One More Thing ch. 3
“Al-an, stop! I can’t just sit around doing nothing forever. I’ve already fabricated a new wetsuit and it’s not like I broke my leg, I want to keep going.” Robin clenched her fists, digging her nails into her palms, hoping the pain would distract her from the anger bubbling inside of her.
“Robin,” Al-an took a step back and looked at her, trying to think of a response that would diffuse the situation. He was at a loss for words, something quite unusual for him.
He had been trying to convince her that she simply cannot continue to work when injured - it could exacerbate the injury and prolong healing time as well as invite longer-term issues.
Al-an had insisted they could wait to gather these supplies, he had proposed he gather materials alone while she worked in the base, he had suggested helping her within the base instead, yet Robin just seemed to get angrier and angrier with each suggestion. He was truly unsure of what to do, it seemed like there was an emotional charge behind this issue that he simply did not understand (as desperately as he wanted to) and it seemed like no matter what he said it made everything worse.
Robin glared demandingly at Al-an, waiting (rather impatiently) for him to finish his sentence.
“What… do you want?” Al-an pressed his arms into his chest, fidgeting with his claws. A nervous habit.
“What? You know what I want. I want to get the damn cure ready so when we go and see all your ‘oh-so-superior’ Architect friends you don’t get fucking ostracized from society and your Network, so for the love of god just let me do what I need to do.”
Al-an stiffened and diverted his gaze with a slight bow of the head. Robin’s hand shot up to her mouth. Oh god, that was, really mean.
“Oh, shit, I’m sorry, I’m sure that won’t happen, I’m sorry, I-“ Robin’s anger had been quickly replaced by regret as she witnessed the glow of her strong friend dim, the way he completely stopped fidgeting, it made her feel awful. Al-an cut her off.
“I understand. I still do not recommend your exposure to the elements in this state, however it is your choice.” I cannot keep her safe nor alive when she has her mind set. The thought was horrid.
He had spent a millennia separated from all contact. Even when he had been within reaches of contact, he had to pull back when he recognized their intentions. Now that he had met the one person he was able to trust and care for with the collective strength of whatever Network was left in him, she just wanted to do whatever she wanted. Even if it meant she would die.
Was it selfish? Perhaps, but he understood that feeling - of thinking you know better.
He also knew the regret of finding out you didn’t.
Al-an looked towards the sea beneath them, accessible through the passageway made by the moon pool’s entrance. He returned his gaze to Robin.
“I cannot aid you at the moment.” He couldn’t think of a way to put the ‘why’ into words. “I must attend to business in the Sanctuary.”
Before Robin could respond, he had blinked down through the moonpool and away.
‘Oh my god.’ Her heart wrenched. ‘Oh my god, what is wrong with me? Why did I say that?’
Without thinking, Robin grabbed her oxygen tank and hopped in after him.
The first thing she noticed was how cold the water was - she was wearing her newly fabricated protective wetsuit but where she had been wounded she had heightened temperature sensitivity.
But soon after noting that, she was really starting to feel the pain from exercising the muscle, it was searing and the burn of it almost completely overwrote the chills she had.
She winced, but she clenched her teeth and kept swimming.
——————-
Robin had finally reached the entrance to the sanctuary, a kilometer swim. It was where she had first found Al-an, and she would’ve been nostalgic about it if she wasn’t in such emotional and physical turmoil.
She swam through the force field that separated the water from the air, but misgauged her position. She fell to her knees with a cry she couldn’t stifle and just buried her face in her hands.
Her mind was screaming conflicting demands to her - stop moving, get up, stay here, find Al-an. She clenched her fingers around her face, trying her best to mitigate this pain.
Suddenly, she heard the sound of zipping and of hoofs landing on the cold ground. She ripped her hands away from her face and stared up at Al-an.
“Robin!” He quickly used his mechanical hands to help support Robin as he picked her up with his anti-gravity beam.
“Al-an,” Robin’s voice cracked and she couldn’t take it anymore - she broke down into tears.
Instead of holding her up to inspect her, Al-an immediately pulled her close to him. Acting off learned instinct (but still with a slight hesitation), he wrapped his organic arms around her and held her tight. “Robin, what is wrong?”
Robin buried her face into the crook of his neck and sobbed. “You- you were right, Al-an.” Her breath hitched. “It hurts like a bitch. And I’m so sorry. I didn’t want to be mean to you, it just slipped out, and -“
“I do not desire to be right. I desire for you to be safe.” Al-an’s chest emanated worried clicks, something more felt than heard. He lowered himself as he continued to hold Robin’s trembling being. “Your muscle is fatigued and you may have exacerbated the tear with your movements.”
Al-an paused hesitantly. “I understand you don’t enjoy this, but may I remove your wetsuit to examine the injury?” His voice remained steady but there was a sense of urgency to it.
Defeatedly, Robin nodded. She just wanted this searing pain to stop, she had no desire let alone capacity to complain at the moment.
Al-an let out a noise resembling a sigh and hovered one mechanical arm over the zipper on the back of her wetsuit. He stopped over it, thinking for a moment. “Robin, is there anything I can do to make this more comfortable? I desperately want to avoid causing you discomfort.” he spoke very gently.
“Um,” Robin said through a stifled sob, “Please just… don’t look at anything but the injury.” Her cheeks burned and she shut her eyes tight.
Al-an began pulling the zipper down slowly, watching her carefully to make sure she didn’t protest.
“Al-an, please hurry it up, just rip the band-aid off,” Robin whined.
Al-an understood the intent and got to work removing her wetsuit. He laid it down beneath her as to separate her from the cold ground when he laid her down.
Part of him was curious about her anatomy - about the opportunity to examine her physical features and characteristics, to see how he could interact with them, but a much larger part of him was worried and respectful of her wishes. So he looked at her wound and nothing else.
He glowed a soft green as he processed the visuals before him and the vitals he could read. The injury was inflamed and red as well as quite raw from the repeated friction from the wetsuit. In a few places it bled and the whole thing definitely seemed worse than he expected it was this morning (even though he never got to see it).
Al-an could also sense the adrenaline coursing through her veins, her heartbeat quickened by pain and anxiety.
“I do not have the necessary resources to treat this right now.” He spoke slowly, then looked up at her face. She could feel his gaze and opened her eyes slightly to meet it. “May I do something quick to assist you before we go back to the base?”
Robin nodded.
With that confirmation, Al-an leaned down and gently pressed his forehead into hers. For a few moments she could only see the faint glow of his face through her closed eyes, but suddenly she felt it. An overwhelming rush of relief overtook her, the pain practically melting, senses dulling. It was weird, she could practically feel her heart rate slow and her breathing return to normal.
“What…?” Robin asked questioningly once he had separated from her.
He clicked in a fashion she could’ve sworn was affectionate (she had no idea why she thought so, but she couldn’t shake it) and tilted his head before answering her question. “I smoothed your heart rate and breathing and assisted your body in producing endorphins and dopamine. I also dulled your pain perception.” He clicked another series of quick trills before continuing. “Do you feel better?”
Robin took in a big breath and slowly released it. She smiled weakly. “Yes. Much better.” She gave an exhausted chuckle, as if to assure him, but her face fell serious once more. “But, Al-an, I came here to talk to you about what I said, I’m so -“
“I do not wish to speak of this now. There are more pressing matters at hand - your safety.” Al-an stood up but kept her close. “Brace yourself, I am about to return us to the base.”
Robin swallowed her words, heavy with guilt. She wrapped her arms around his neck and did as he said as they took off.

dude i need inspiration. gimme! gimme! gimme! xox, splatooshy
Uhh *scrambles for something to type* ok so in the vampire diaries books Stefan has curly dark hair, green eyes, and he and Damon look more visibly like siblings. Also! Damon has very dark eyes in the books. I think they were described as onyx.
Anyways I like to imagine that Show!Stefan looks specifically different than he would otherwise bc of doppelgänger shenanigans. The Silas Effect overwrote everything else.
Completely unrelated to the first thing, but yk how Alaric gets all human-fied after the anti-magic bubble strips him of his vampirism and he’s saved from what had been his death wound?? All I’m saying is that Enzo died of, what, TB? Providing that it didn’t immediately kill him, he could have theoretically been dragged over that same bubble boundary as Alaric and been de-fanged the same way. The mental image of Damon pretending he’s not hovering over both of his suddenly mortal, suddenly v fragile and probably with lingering health issues as vampire blood can’t cure tuberculosis, best friends is so, so funny to me.
Third: I think that Wes totally could have approached Elena between S2-4. Like. Hey, ur Grayson’s daughter (or Jeremy, either, both) I need some research that may be with your dad’s things. Great man, he saved a lot of lives. Or all the suspicious deaths in Mystic have him trying to track down the mysterious killer after the Whitmores—before Aaron and his aunt get targeted. Grayson’s daughter might make good bait. All that’d have to happen is Wes to mention Augustine in Damon’s hearing. Bam. Instant angry vampire. Who now has to explain to his brother and/or their girlfriend why he just tried to kill a scientist. Like he worked with Elena’s father obvs he’s such a good guy. Damon , of course, does not give them a straight answer until Wes realizes what’s up and references his number or whatevs.
Damon, after having Stefan try to hold him back and Elena ask for mercy, bc they don’t have the full story and all they see is Damon holding a defenseless human by the throat: Mercy?
S/E: yeah, mercy
D: Alright. I won’t rip out his guts.
Wes: thank—
D: if he gives me back five years. No. Fifty.
E/S: Fifty years?
D: All the time I lost. Every second I spent numbed to everything.
D: I’ll let him live if he gives them back
W: I can’t—
D: How about this, this should be easier. I’ll let you live if you give me back my best friend.
W:
S/E:
D: no? shame. Guess you die.
In the books, Damon can turn into a wolf and a—I think it was a raven? Anyways I just think that Shapeshifting Damon is Fun, but especially if he just goes Gender is Stupid and Stefan wanders down one morning and is just like… I guess it’s sister today?
Damon: eh, it’s one of those Tuesdays.
Okay, now it’s ur turn 🥺

Interview with George (LADIESROOM / B) (summarized)
Published in the hide BIBLE (by Akemi Oshima) 2008
Note: The usual. Still not good at Japanese. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong about something.
Things George tells us:
George first saw hide in a live house called Seventh Avenue in Yokohama. Yoshiki told him that there was a good guitarist that he absolutely meant to recruit for X and took George along to see hide’s band SAVER TIGER. At the time, KYO was on vocals, TETSU on drums, and TOKI on bass. The afterparty was at an issakaya in Yokohama where hide, for whatever reason, got into a fight with a pretty brawny young man.
Since George was there as Yoshiki’s roadie, he did not talk to hide much. He spent his time there with KYO and TETSU instead, whom he was already acquainted with.
Having seen hide rage in an issakaya the very first time he met him, George absolutely did not want him to join X, as he already had his hands full with Yoshiki and did not need another monster in the band to deal with.
George’s first impression of SAVER TIGER on stage was non-existent. The place was so crowded that they couldn’t actually see the stage. There were monitors to watch the performance on, but George doesn’t remember anything about it, because the impression he got at the afterparty was so strong it overwrote everything else. The fight hide got into started over something inconsequential that hide was unreasonable stubborn about, so George was certain that he didn’t need to worry about him joining X, as he would surely turn them down. But then, later, he accepted the invitation anyway. And it turned out that he was, in fact, incredibly unproblematic. He didn’t take up much of George’s time at all, understanding that if he did, George would have less time to spend on Yoshiki. He used to say, “You’re here for Yoshiki,” and would turn to other roadies like NORI instead.
When George started as a roadie for X, there were just Yoshiki and Toshi in the band. Taiji left, Pata came as support and disappeared again. George came to replace AMI, the previous bassist of the TOKYO YANKEES, as a roadie. Just before X went major, George got TOKYO YANKEES vocalist UME and their guitarist NORI to join the roadie-team, but only UME and George were trusted to handle the band’s equipment, even though there were around 10 roadies at any time. The other roadies would chat up the band’s female fans while George and Co. had to take care of the equipment. Being a roadie for X was hard back then.
George, UME, NORI and the others, who were all around 180 cm tall, would stand in line in front of the stage and block view of the band, and the female fans would get mad at them. The roadies would then tell them to shup up and behave, so Yoshiki got mad at them and told them to be nice to the fans.
The roadies would link their arms together at first, but the fans kicked and stepped on them. UME got kicked by a female fan one time and when he insulted her in return, Toshi on the stage came, grabbed his head from behind, and told him not to be violent with the fans.
Just when hide joined the band, X became more interesting and sped up their development on the way to going major.
When George was first introduced to hide, hide scared him with his hair and hat and sunglasses. But when he really got to know him, he discovered that hide was actually very kind. It is hard to imagine now, but back then George was very diligent and hide always praised him for his hard work. While George was dealing with the equipment on stage, NORI was on hair-duty and UME was off the get the car, leaving him to handle everything on his own.
Once, all the others were off to hang out with girls while George spend one and a half hours taking drum sets, amps etc. off the stage. When he finally left, hide happened to see him and was super nice, telling him he was great, and then offered George his old equipment van from his SAVER TIGER days to use for LADIESROOM. He also asked George to become his personal manager. George declined the latter but happily took the former, and then LADIESROOM used the old SAVER TIGER van until George totalled it in an accident.
That day, he nodded off at the wheel and hit a telephone pool. LADIEDROOM’s vocalist Hyaku, who was in the car with him, thought they had been hit by someone else and got out of the car to fight them, but George had to admit that it had been a suicide attack and so Hyaku just returned to the car.
They had been supposed to officially register the van to them, but they never did it, on purpose. The reason: Since hide lived in Yokosuka when the van was registered to him, it had a Yokohama license plate. Trading that to one from Narashino [Note: A city in Chiba-prefecture] seemed lame, so they just didn’t do it. As a result, hide kept getting demands for vehicle tax for three years after the van had been decommissioned, calling them every year to ask them what the fuck they were doing.
They had told him about the accident at once, of course, and apologized for destroying the car. hide just said, “It’s alright, it’s alright. At least you weren’t hurt,” because he was that kind of person.
hide was always there when something happened at Extasy Record. He found and pulled in a lot of bands. X always took care of George and his bandmates, but George felt that he could never meet Yoshiki or hide at the same level.
When LADIESROOM had their major debut, hide told them to become managers if they failed to make it.
George stopped being a roadie after about two tours, but always came to X’s lives, and for Extasy events.
George first heard about X when there was a rumour about a band with a good drummer. He met Yoshiki and immediately asked him to join LADIESROOM. Yoshiki laughed and turned them down for the time being, so George kept asking whenever they met again. One day, he just set up Yoshiki’s drum-set and then told Hyaku that he was a roadie now.
At that time, the members of X other than Yoshiki and Toshi kept changing with every show, so George figured it was only a matter of time until he could win Yoshiki for his own band. Plenty of other bands were interested in Yoshiki as well.
AMI also ended up as a roadie without meaning to, having first come to X to fight them. Neither of them was ever asked to take on the job, it just kind of happened by the Power of Yoshiki. They called Yoshiki Yoshiki-san not only because he was older but also because he was awesome.
Just like hide, George thought Yoshiki looked like a cute foreigner when they first met.
Ultimately, George wasn’t a roadie for too long. He helped out during the Osaka-tour after X’s debut, but wanted to focus his energy on LADIESROOM more. During the tour, George had a lot to do, to pack, to carry, all on his own. Hide noticed him struggle and told him not to worry about him.
Within X, Yoshiki and hide were the only ones who had a driver’s license at the time. George didn’t have one yet either. When the six of them were on the road, and Yoshiki was driving after dark, George always sat between the driver’s and the passenger seat, as back then, there was no law enforcing seatbelts. His job was to be the substitute for the car radio and keep Yoshiki awake by talking. If he fell silent for too long, hide would hit him from the backseat to get him going again.
Once George traded places with Toshi and ended up falling asleep in the passenger seat. He was shocked awake when hide opened the window in the back and banged against the window beside George’s head from the outside, then laughed his ass off. He was always ready and willing to be a mischievous menace.
Another example of hide’s trolling nature was when X was shooting photos for their XCLAMATION video at George and UME’s house in Shin-Matsudo. During a break in the shooting, hide took all of UME’s LPs out of their jackets and painted all the labels in the centre black. Yoshiki then proceeded to switch the jackets around.
George could always tell when hide was up to something, because the looked like a child then.
Why did they even come for Shin-Matsudo for those photos? Possibly just to cause mayhem and destroy George’s and UME’s home. They later found the words “Yoshiki was here” written on the mortar of one of their walls. The carpet underneath the TV and the bed was completely overturned. It was pretty bad. X came, trolled around, and then returned home feeling accomplished.
UME had to listen to all of his LPs to be able to sort them into the right jackets again, since hide had painted over the title and artist on every single one.
LADIESROOM’s first live was at a cabaret in Kita-Kogane, where they opened for X. There were about 200 people there, even though the place only functioned as a live house on Sundays. Afterwards, hide came over to their place and they had a party with about 15 guys in a 6 tatami room and a 4 ½ tatami kitchen [Note: About 10 and 7 ½ square meters respectively]. At around 2 AM hide informed them that they were out of alcohol and UME went to buy more.
Whenever George fought with Yoshiki, which happened often, hide was the one who got them to make up again. They always fought for silly reasons, but nearly ended up never talking to each other again about five or six times. One fight happened when LADIESROOM’s major debut was decided. George went to Yoshiki to dutifully report to him, but Yoshiki had already heard a rumour about it and was mad at him for not telling him. They said some things and parted in anger. Later, hide took George out drinking as usual, when suddenly Yoshiki walked in, invited by hide and not knowing that George would be there. They ended up apologizing to each other and continued being friends. Without hide, they probably would have severed ties completely on several occasions. After hide died, they never fought again, conscious of the fact that there was no one around to save their friendship now.
Hide always came to LADIESROOM’s lives, sat in his seat, drank and nodded along. He probably liked their Sex, Sex & Rock’n’Roll style. He never said anything to them about their music, though. All George can remember him saying is, “You should apologize to Yoshiki anyway.”
Hide bonded with George and Hyaku over the Extasy-fighting-spirit, and with NAO over them both being guitarists. They often talked about guitar-related things and hide used to praise NAO’s style, which he liked.
In the beginning, when they went drinking, it was peaceful, but when Extasy-members gathered in one place, it always ended with a bang.
During X-lives, George was in charge of holding the CO2-bottles Yoshiki used on the audience, which were very cold.
There was only one time when hide got mad at George. They were at a LEMONed-event and there was some fooling around with George, half-naked, putting on stuff they got from a sex-shop and making noises. hide laughed about it, but later interfered when a drunk George got into a drunken fight with drunk DIE, telling him to behave because “this isn’t Extasy!”
Usually, hide was super nice and carried his own luggage when touring, which made him an angel in the eyes of a roadie who had to struggle under the weight of Yoshiki’s six suitcases. When the other bandmembers saw George’s struggle, they merely added to it by asking him to carry their luggage as well, resulting in him having to run back and forth several times…
When they first met, George thought he was in a for a Monster vs. Monster fight, but hide was never any kind of problem during George’s roadie days. He was mindful, caring. In this time, George never saw him go on a drunken rampage, even though he saw all the others rampage away. When he heard stories of hide having a violent outburst later, a little after quitting, he always thought that obviously hide had to have been drunk. George himself, as well as Yoshiki, didn’t need to be drunk to become violent, they just went for a fight if they had excessive energy to spend. Yoshiki’s rage was compared to a sudden rain shower. hide was always drunk when it happened with him, so in George’s eyes he was just super kind. Mindful, didn’t get mad when they destroyed his car, like a buddha.
hide was the first to start wearing big hats. George, NAO and JUN [Note: Former LADIESROOM drummer] started wearing them, too, but hide made the start. Morris of DEAD END was also known for wearing big hats, but to George, that was always a hide thing. Big hats, big sunglasses.
Taking hide’s hat was only for the bravest of souls.
One time, hide took a bunch of his juniors on a trip to an onsen. George was not taken along, because he had to stay by Yoshiki’s side. Later, hearing the wild stories of Sugizo and Tusk over drinks, he was kind of relieved having missed that.
George was grateful that LADIESROOM got to be at the hide memorial summit. The band had broken up in 1996, but they were asked to get back together to perform in the memorial event Yoshiki had planned for hide in 1999. That event got cancelled, but getting together for the rehearsals led to LADIESROOM eventually reuniting not long after. Since none of them liked mourning, they never acknowledged what they had gotten back together for. They agreed to do the memorial event because hide had been important to them. After they performed at the memorial summit, they went drinking and Hyaku pointed out that their purpose, the one that they had reunited for, had now finally been fulfilled. Not just for him but for George and NAO as well it was a deeply moving moment.
There were many bands at the summit that didn’t have a direct connection to hide. George didn’t mind; as long as they grew up listening to his music, they had reason enough to mourn him.
George’s birthday was just a few days earlier, on May 1st. On his birthday, he tends to be rowdy and loud with his juniors, but once it strikes midnight, they always have a moment of silence. He never forgets the anniversary of hide’s death. Lately, he even sings his songs when he occasionally goes to karaoke.
He used to not do that because he couldn’t sing. Those who could would run away from him, leaving him to sing alone if he really wanted to. It would also chase away the ladies. Now that he learned to sing, George wants to sing hide’s songs, but unfortunately, he only remembers about three of them. He knows all of X’s songs, though – not the words, but the melodies. This always comes as a surprise to his friends who have no connection to music and the people in the industry at all.
As a guitarist, hide had a lot of sense. George doesn’t care about definitions like good or bad, those are just business expressions. hide was also a great composer, and his stuff was casually awesome. There are people who call X’s twin harmonies simple, but there aren’t many who can play them that tightly. hide and Pata just didn’t let anyone see how difficult it was. There is no one who drums like Yoshiki, no one who sings like Toshi.
In hide’s solo works, his pop-side came out. George wanted to hear the sequel to Pink Spider, but talking about all this brought back memories of things he didn’t like.
What he did not like was the funeral. It was the first time George had lost someone that close to him. Being at Tsukiji was terrible; so many people of different hair colours trying not to cry.
Even though it was pointless, they all went every day leading up to the funeral to see hide, and then they always went on to drink somewhere. But no matter how much they drank, they couldn’t seem to get drunk. Someone said they should drink cheerfully in hide’s memory but no one could muster any kind of cheer. It had just been too early, for hide to die.
George always saw hide’s kindness in his bond with Yoshiki. Their relationship was a kind of ideal that he was striving for in his own bond with Hyaku and NAO.
Yoshiki and hide shared a relationship of trust that you usually only see between men in movies. Normally, when people out of elementary school beat each other up, they don’t just get over it like that but those two always made up by the next day, their bond as strong as ever. Their reasons for fighting seemed trivial from the outside, but for them those were important things that they were stubborn about.
George was Yoshiki’s underling and under his control, so Yoshiki never  hesitated to bother him and cause him unreasonable trouble. hide understood that George was Yoshiki’s subordinate and never bothered him with anything unreasonable. He cheered him on when George was despairing about Yoshiki and was just generally a saint in George’s eyes.
hide was great at adjusting to Yoshiki’s play. If Yoshiki rushed a part too much, hide was able to match his timing perfectly anyway. In LADIESROOM, George was the one to adjust to Hyaku’s mistakes.
Or maybe it was the other way round sometimes. Anyway, hide was a great person. When Yoshiki turned into a monster and went for UME’s car, hide just laughed and poured George a beer. He never acted violently in front of George – except for that first time they met.
They way hide cared for George was different from the way Yoshiki did. hide was like a benefactor to him. When George and Yoshiki fought, hide would lecture George while crying, saying, “You’re important to Yoshiki. Yoshiki is important to you! So don’t fight over something like that!” And hearing that, George would also start bawling. Meanwhile, UME watched from the side lines in stunned silence.
The next day, George would be astonished that he had cried with hide like that. It messed up his eyes, but he felt much better and thought that he should go apologize.
If he could say something to hide now, George would ask him for another lecture when they meet again. In the meantime, he asks hide to watch over him warmly while he does whatever he wants. George will not forget him, and neither will anyone else at the memorial summit. He will live in their hearts even when there is no special event to remember him by. Everyone should live good lives and do what they want to do, just as hide did.

I find it kind of hilarious to remember that, because some of the things he's saying don't exist yet (or at the very least don't exist in Hisui yet, who even knows what's being created elsewhere, because apparently in Kalos they were technologically advanced enough 4000 years ago to create a doomsday device lazer and in current day they had the tech to literally turn Bill into a clefairy and back), canonically there have to have been times when he'll be talking to someone and briefly become nigh on incomprehensible to them. Luckily most of the time they just lose a word and can figure out what he means, like if he says he "lost his [???] of thought" or "a [???] always makes sure his passengers arrive safely to their destination" or whatever. Words like train, conductor, rails, engine, cab, car, etc. would mean nothing to them, but if he only uses one it's probably not too hard to skip over and still get his meaning usually. But then sometimes as you mentioned he'll say things where they understand all the words individually, but he says them in an order that makes them sound like meaningless word salad, like "full steam ahead".
If this was a case of 'Ingo is actually speaking unovan but a magical translator is making whoever is listening understand him and vice versa', then it might just try to turn those words into the closest comparison their language has (although that could cause problems if someone was watching how his mouth moved and realized that he's not actually saying what they're hearing). But if it's something that magically bestows the knowledge of the language into his brain, then there'd be times when there's no direct translation for whatever word he's trying to say so he just subs in the unovan one without even noticing, though idioms would probably still be translated despite not making much sense. And that's not even counting the things he'd reflexively say in unovan in that scenario, like his all aboard or Emmet's lines, where he could accidentally say a full string of words they can't understand.
Although, wouldn't it be tragic if instead of being a translator it just completely overwrote the language he understands, but his subconscious still remembers those words in unovan, so he could quote Emmet's lines before a battle, and they fill him with power, but he literally doesn't understand what he's saying. Why does he point to things and shout meaningless noises? Who knows, he just does, it feels right for some reason.
that last bit is like a perfect 50/50 split between completely tragic and so fucking funny. he's just making noises. he doesn't know what they mean either. but also it's because even this most fundamental part of who he his has been taken away, he isn't even allowed to keep that, and the memory of them feels like something broken in his mind-
and funnily enough i have actually had multiple different instances in wips where people will comment internally "sometimes ingo just says shit. and you just have to go 'ok' and move on and hope you correctly pick up wtf he means from context." like that's their guy! he speaks in riddles sometimes and they just nod like it all makes sense

Hey.
I didn't want to do this over text but being unable to get a hold of you any other way has left me with no other choice. I'm not exactly sure what needs to be said or how to say it, so I'm giving myself four A4 pages to figure it out. My apologies if it runs a bit long.
I think I'll start from the most recent incident and work my way from there. I waited up for you on Sunday night, because in my head, the fact that you said you were coming over, meant you were actually coming over. So even though I was exhausted from work, I made myself stay up. And every time I heard the sound of a bike outside, I thought that must be you, and I went downstairs to check. Every time. And each time, there was no one there, which made me feel like a crazy person. I probably looked it too. Eventually, at 3am, I had to come to terms with the fact that you weren't coming. Again.
Then the next day, I waited for a call that didn't come. To explain, apologize or even just tell me you're alive. But none came. In the end I rationalized all of it and decided to call. And it rang and rang and rang. And this was the running theme for the next three days. I've been in denial for a while but today I realized a difficult conversation had to be had. And I can't wait until you appear to have it. So I'm having it with your inbox, because right now, I'm in limbo. And I can't make myself stay here indefinitely.
My first point and the thing I was unable to name when we last talked is that we had made plans and then you made other plans with your friends that eventually overwrote the plans we had made. I've had time to process how that makes me feel. I've come to lots of conclusions and the most rational one is that I am probably not as important to you as I'd thought.
And that's okay. I mean, it sucks, but it's okay. It's something I can live and come to terms with overtime. And it makes total sense. I've known you for what? Two months? One of which we've been unable to sync up our calendars. So it makes sense that your friends whom you've known for much longer would be more of a priority.
Then there's the small matter of your disappearances. I get that they are mostly attributed to your shitty situation with phones, which is why I've been understanding. I get it. Life happens to the best of us. But they've happened often enough that sometimes I start to think that if you do something often enough it becomes part of who you are. Where do you go off to when you disappear? There was a time before phones and all that but people found ways to connect and meet up and all that. And I know you're smart and creative, if you wanted to find a way you would, something tells me... Email, snail mail, smokesignals etc... Somehow I'm unable to completely wrap my head around the constant disappearance.
The constant anxiety it causes me when you disappear and the dopamine hits when you come back, aren’t very sustainable for me in the long run. Every time you come back I tell myself it'll be the last disappearance, but so far that hasn't been true. I refuse to lie to myself on your account.
I also need to be able to believe you when you say stuff, cuz otherwise it's all going to shit. This is in reference to the last two times you said you were coming and then you failed to show up.
I want stability and I want honesty, if these things cannot be part of what we're doing here, then we're better off not doing anything at all. So that's also something to think about.
The gist of all this basically is that constantly being the one who calls is starting to make it feel like I'm forcing issues. Like maybe you're sending me a message with your silence, but I'm refusing to pick up on it. And when I call and you don't answer, every ring sends me further into the abyss and it feels more and more like I'm dying inside. I genuinely, wholeheartedly believe there's something here but I feel like you might not be ready for whatever it is. The constant calling is making me feel like I am pressuring you into being ready.
So I'll stop. Give you time to get ready. When you're ready, you know how /where to find me and then hopefully, we can figure it out from there.

Do you think hijacked Peeta fell out of love with Katniss? Or did he hate her/was afraid of her but still loved her? Is post hijacked Peeta the same Peeta or a new person altogether? Thank you :)
@everlarkshipper
Ahhhh a very good question.
Ok so the crux of my thoughts on this subject base around the idea that pain and fear conditioning rewires the neural pathways of the brain, so quite literally the hijacking overwrote (most of) Peeta's (core) personality (for a time).
Mutt-Peeta/Hijacked-Peeta (whatever you want to call him) was both a heterogeneous mixture of original Peeta and the trackerjacker venom created monster that the Capitol engineered via torture in the bowels beneath the Tribute center. We know that the original Peeta wasn't completely erased because Katniss herself said in different portions of Mockingjay post-rescue, "there were rare flashes of who he had once been," as seen when Peeta decorates Annie and Finnick's wedding cake, or when he reassures Pollux before Star Squad goes into the sewer tunnels and Peeta says, "you just became the most valuable member of our squad", to ease Pollux's nervousness. But these glimpses of the old Peeta were few and far between. So while parts of the original Peeta existed somewhere beneath the hijacking, it was difficult or sometimes almost impossible for those parts to take presidence over the Mutt or the Hijacked part of his brain.
Another really horrifying thing about Peeta's hijacking, is that while it was centered around Katniss, it was also targeted in a deliberate way against Peeta, himself. It eroded/or buried the well established aspects of his personality, such as being gentle, kind, selfless, level headed, peace oriented, forgiving, easy going, and personable. He became after the hijacking, as Johanna so aptly put it, "the evil mutt version of himself". Which was violent, rude, angry, full of bitterness, aggressive, unforgiving, volatile, and unsociable. I think the most insidious part of the hijacking was the attempt to overwrite the inherent love and compassion that Peeta displayed so prominently throughout the first two books. Those components of his character were the foundation on which Peeta Mellark was built and when they were stripped away, he really did lose himself for a while.
I think that by the time he was rescued he had been in the clutches of Snow (and whatever mad scientists Snow employed to torture him) for so long that Peeta didn't remember WHY he used to love Katniss, and worse he didn't clearly remember himself before the hijacking either. But he knew he had once loved Katniss, and he knew he hadn't always been such a rage filled monster but he only had fragments of his memories and feelings. Peeta did discuss his past love for Kantiss with her during their first conversation after his rescue. He said, "I must have loved you a lot." So he ultimately acknowledged his past love of her as fact, even though he didn't understand why he used to feel that way towards her. The effects of the hijacking and torture had erased or clouded his memories of her and to greater extent, himself, and the ability to think about those subjects with any sort of rationality. It wasn't until he received treatment, both medically and psychologically (morphling treatment and Prim + Delly counseling sessions) that he began to recover his memories and facets of his forgotten personality.
Luckily, for Peeta and for Katniss, Peeta was able to eventually overcome his torture and brainwashing (for the most part). He fell in love with Katniss again and they built a life together after the war. But, ultimately, I don't think Peeta was ever the same. His experiences as a POW fundamentally altered his personality just as the war and becoming a symbol of rebellion for an entire nation changed Katniss' personality. Post-hijacked Peeta was probably very different from the boy Katniss went into her first Hunger Games with, but in all the ways that mattered he was the same. He recovered his core personality traits of being a kind, gentle soul who wished for peace and a quiet life with the one he loved above all else.
So it's my theory that Post-hijacked Peeta was a new/different person from both original (pre-hijacked) and Hijacked/Mutt-Peeta.
Hope that answers your question!!

so, what did XGaster do to Ink? it was kinda confusing for me to read, sorry
Wanted to answer this before I go to bed real fast cuz there was a bit of confusion in the comments as well! Just to clear things up :)
That being said, just in case, TTS chapter 6 spoilers ahead (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜
XGaster was completely responsible for turning Ink into a dragon! Idk if Overwrite would actually do this in canon, but idc, he essentially Overwrote Ink’s entire being to be as accurate to Error’s situation as he could. That is, the shifting, half-form, ecto, a basic idea of the structure and such, all based on what Ink had told and drawn for him of Error. If it didn’t work out perfectly? Oh well. It was supposed to be a lesson: “you like him so much? Be like him then, and never betray me again.”
So, because of that, shifting doesn’t quite work right for the colorful boi.
But! Despite some people guessing so, no, it wasn’t a side of Ink XGaster unlocked or triggered. Ink never had this ability before. He wasn’t created as a dragon in his AU— his AU was hardly even fully created as is.
Because he was meant to be the God of Creativity, he was meant to be a dragon. It was fated, destined, bound to happen, no matter what. Whether Fate and/or Destiny are entities or not, they kinda played a part here nonetheless! It was written down afterall. It just hadn’t happened yet.
Think of it like… the Multiverse needs it’s balances to be properly handled. Instead of hoping the gods/guardians do their job, it’s just gonna force it. They’re like guard dogs— if a balance starts to tip, their instincts senses the danger and they’ll do whatever it takes to eliminate whatever was threatening their side. ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ Hoards, heats, mates, anger issues, general cat-like behaviors, etc etc, that all just came with it lmao. In order for this all to properly work, they all needed to be on the same page. Ink was just the only one who wasn’t at the time~

#is it too late to write 2k words of how Ruby stays chained up and turns and she's in control yet scared but Belle stays with her NO!!! It is never too late for red beauty content
Is this a dare or are you just mocking me?
But, well, okay, let's go back to that night in the library then, shall we?
(under a read more, but also up on AO3 now)
Ruby frantically went through the rooms, making sure all the windows were shut, nobody else was here and she knew the layout of the place. But Belle was still here, that was not good. She needed to go, lock the main entrance from the outside.
"You need to leave. The moon's going to be up soon."
Belle didn't made any effort to go, instead she followed Ruby around. "But will the chains hold?"
"Hopefully." Like a familiar tune another conversation about chains played out in Ruby's head. Familiar and devastating. Those chains did hold. But only because they held a human back, leaving him defenseless.
"Then, I'm staying." Belle's determined tone stopped Ruby in her tracks. She was so upbeat and positive, as if this wasn't about a beast showing up any minute, who could tear her to shreds. Belle reached out, not just mentally, but physically now. Ruby felt the hands on her shoulders, a gesture to spark comfort. "Think of it as girls' night."
Ruby was at a loss for words. Belle was so cheery about all of this. So unfazed by the horror of the situation. Was this how Peter had seen her? When she convinced him he might be the wolf and he was ready to be tied up and send her away, but Red had stayed with him. Unintentionally dooming him to a grim death. Red had felt the same determination to stay with him that Belle showcased now. It was such a weird switch in perspectives. Except Ruby knew much, much better now.
Slowly Ruby backed away, breaking contact with Belle, who finally showed concern, but not in the way Ruby wanted. "What's wrong?"
How could Ruby explain all of this? The way her heart ached, because of a lost love, a life taken and now also because this thing might happen again. May have in fact happened again. Belle hadn't seen Billy's body. Belle didn't know how easily werewolf fangs tore human bodies in half. Belle didn't know that deep inside of Ruby a monster lurked. And that every bit of self-doubt made it stronger. That only self-acceptance could tame it and Ruby had run out of that this morning in front of the cannery. Why was she the only one that was afraid?
"I know David wants to believe the best, but I've killed before, and I'll do it again." Ruby picked up the chains, the rattling sound a faint promise of safety. "Everyone in this town is right to be afraid of me."
"Okay, well I'm not."
"You should be!" Ruby almost yelled back instantly. How did Belle not understand this? This was about her life! People outside gathered in a mob to hunt for a wolf and they were right. Because if Ruby had killed Billy, the sweet mechanic who always smiled and was up for a chat, then anybody could be next.
But Belle didn't budge. She didn't give in a single inch and Ruby stared at her. Trying to figure out what to do. "No matter what you might've done in your past, David sees the good in you and-" A slight pause, Belle's face was perfectly calm, her eyes warm and her lips twitched into a reassuring half-smile for a second. Just looking at her twisted Ruby's inside. "And that tells me one thing."
"What?" She was skeptical, because Belle didn't listen to reason, making up her own theories here. Ruby had on of the cuffs in her hand. Thinking back to Peter a thought formed. He would have been safe if Red had gone away. Maybe this was how she could keep Belle from getting hurt. Put this on her and leave. The building was secure. And the people outside took the risk serious enough to end the threat once and for all.
"That it's in there." Belle kept going, while taking a step forward. Stepping into Ruby's personal space again, closing this gap to show how serious she was about not being afraid. "So if we can all see it, why can't you?"
"You really think so?" All Ruby wanted was to believe Belle. Believe in her kind words, her trust that the wolf wasn't the problem.
"Trust me. I'm sort of an expert when it comes to rehabilitation."
Ruby looked at Belle. Her face. The utter and unfaltering support. The way her eyebrows moved, the corner of her mouth pulling up radiating optimism and just those gentle eyes.
"Maybe. Maybe you're right." Ruby played with the cuff. Now or never. She could leave Belle to safety and make a run for it. She deserved whatever the mob had in store for her.
But under Belle's gaze she faltered. For a split second she wanted to believe her so much, that she closed the cuff around her own wrist. She had only met this type of kindness once before and it overwrote her will towards self-destruction long enough to change her course of action.
"But you do need to leave." Ruby closed the second cuff and pulled at the chains a bit, the weight was noticeable, but she was worried if the pipe was sturdy enough.
Belle smiled. "I'm staying and now you can't throw me out anyway." She took Ruby's hands into her own. "I'll get you through this. And tomorrow you'll see that you worried for nothing. David will find out the truth."
Ruby ground her teeth. It was too late now. She could only hope history was not about to repeat itself. The literal hand-holding was maybe too much, but it had a calming effect. Ruby was not alone, even though she should be, while also not wanting to be. This whole day had taken a lot of energy from her and it was nice to surrender for a moment. But she needed to focus and let go of Belle.
When Ruby grabbed the other cuffs that were supposed to go around her ankles, Belle intervened.
"Wait, you need to straighten those out first, they're all twisted. You'll make it worse for yourself."
"That's kinda the point."
Again Belle gave her that sympathetic half-smile. "The point is to keep you locked up, not to strangle yourself. I have had my share of uncomfortable nights in chains."
Under any other circumstances Ruby would have a question about that, but she only stood there and let Belle straighten out the chains like christmas lights. She then knelt down to put the cuffs on. All Ruby did was raiser her feet one after the other a bit to help.
"All set?", Belle asked.
Ruby yanked at the chains, the pipes didn't give in. And the chain connecting her wrists and ankles now restrained her movement. The wolf would not be able to make huge leaps in those, even if it broke loose. She leaned against the wall and slowly glided down. "The last one around me, please?"
Now she had to look up at Belle and her stomach turned once more. Was this how Peter had felt? She remembered vividly helping him into the chains, securing him against the tree. Both believing it was the right thing to do. She remembered her love for him and the trust he wouldn't hurt her. Like Belle trusted her now contrary to all evidence.
A bit of shame rose up in Ruby, battling with her nervousness. She had given Belle a crash-course in everyday life in Storybrooke, but avoided any question about her pre-curse persona. And now here they were. Because of the wolf. If she had warned Belle from the start, she wouldn't be so insistent now on helping and staying. She wouldn't be crawling around on the floor of her library to fasten chains around Ruby.
"Done." Belle squatted in front of her.
Ruby had pulled her knees up to her chin and hugged her legs. "Please go?" It was more of a question than a request and Ruby knew the answer already anyway. Because Peter had said the same. And she had stayed. For him.
Belle cocked her head to the side, rubbing Ruby's leg for a moment. "I'm responsible for what happens in the library. And if my friend is chained up in here, I'm responsible for her, too." She brushed a strand of Ruby's hair behind her ear and locked eyes.
Ruby took a deep breath in. She could feel the beast creeping closer, the moon was rising. "But get back. Get to the door." She mustered every ounce of command she could. "You have to!"
Belle got up and stepped away. She made her way to the main entrance backwards, never taking her eyes off of Ruby. And Ruby felt exposed. It was time. The beast was near. The wolf wanted out. What was it that made her black out last night? She had been in the freezer and woken up in the woods. She remembered nervous pacing and endless worry. She had rejected the reality of what was happening. The thing Anita had warned her about.
The wolf was her, she was the wolf. Different, but the same. She was the beast, with fangs and claws and animal instincts. All of that monstrous potential. It was all her. All a part of her. Under her control.
Ruby turned. Her senses grew sharper, the noises and smells that already had been loud and clear, became more distinct. The strength that put her above normal humans was now fitted with all the right muscles. And there was an immediate need to move, to run, to use those muscles and to get outside. A want for fresh air and dirt under her paws.
Ruby threw herself against the chains and let out a howl. Belle had to press her hands against her ears, because the closed space wasn't the best place for such a noise. But the howl turned into a low whine, when Ruby kept struggling. The cuffs cut into the skin, not fitting her legs as well as a minute ago. And the chain around her body kept her from any decent movement. She was trapped. This was terrible. And Ruby panicked.
Deep down she knew this was what she had wanted. To be tied up in a way that would not allow her to escape. But the craving for freedom in her wolf form was far stronger than any human reason. This was the thing with being a wolf. Some things felt different.
"Ruby?"
Belle's voice reached her as she tried to get up on all four paws, but the chain yanking her back towards the wall.
"Ruby? Are you okay?"
Ruby barked. Once. A warning. She couldn't come closer! She growled, but also tried to retreat, she needed to make sure she was far away from Belle, right? This was her friend, she was in danger from something. Ruby needed to stay away.
When Belle stopped moving so did Ruby. She looked at her. If she stayed away all was right. Nothing bad would happen. If she stayed still herself Belle was safe. Ruby tried another approach and tried to lie down. The chains pressed against her body in various spots, but she managed. She pulled her ears back, flattened herself as best as she could and whined.
"Ruby?"
She only moved her ears in confirmation. Belle's face spelt surprise. But Ruby couldn't read if it was a good or a bad thing.
"I get it now, where the big part in big bad wolf comes from." Ruby growled and bared her teeth for a second. "No, no, you're not bad. Definitely not bad. But kinda big." Her furrowed brow smoothed out and she put a smile back on. "You are a big wolf. And I don't think that's the same as being a monster."
Ruby pointedly turned her head, not looking at Belle anymore. But she could hear her sitting down. And then a few moments of silence. Until a soft rustle piqued her interest. Belle was pulling out books from the shelf she leaned against.
"Sorry, I'm still reorganizing things. Some of these shelves don't make any sense to me." Her eyes darted over the back of a few books, skimming the contents. "The good thing is there is lots to discover I have never heard of." She held up a thick volume. "Here, an anthology with short stories and I don't even know any of these writers. Bradbury, Vonnegut, Ellison, Le Guin. Any of these names mean something to you?"
Ruby dared a quick tail wag, because buried in her false memories was reading Fahrenheit 451 as a school assignment. Belle put the book down and pulled out a much thinner one.
"The Last Unicorn." Ruby lifted her head. "Oh, someone we know? Maybe I should take that into consideration. Rearranging the fairy-tales and stories with people we've met."
She opened the book and started to read. "The unicorn lived in a lilac wood, and she lived all alone. She was very old, though she did not know it, and she was no longer the careless color of sea foam but rather the color of snow falling on a moonlit night. But her eyes were still clear and unwearied, and she still moved like a shadow on the sea." Belle had a soothing tone that made Ruby forget the cuffs cutting into her skin, the chains hindering her from moving and biting into her body. She wasn't supposed to be comfortable. And Belle wasn't supposed to be here and definitely not reading to her.
There were people outside hunting for a bloodthirsty wolf and yet, Ruby was inside, hidden away, listening to the story of a lonely creature searching for her family. Belle looked up every so often, giving different voices to the characters and making facial impressions, but not disturbing the flow with comments on the plot. Ruby was too focused on her that she didn't even hear footsteps coming closer and she was startled when the door to the library was pushed open.
"We've got it!" David shouted, holding up Ruby's red signature cloak. "And you're cleared. It was all Spencer."
Granny followed, still some fury on her face. "He tried to frame you, so David would look bad. But we got him." Granny's grin gave away that she had used the crossbow in her hand.
"That's fantastic," Belle said as she got up. "See, no need to worry."
"Everything okay in here?", David asked when he slowed down as he approached Ruby.
"Nothing happened. I don't think she even needed the chains."
David threw the cloak over Ruby and the second she turned back, she hugged him. "Thank you, David."
"No, thank you for not doing something reckless. I've told you, I believe in you."
They both know the thing that wasn't said in this moment. That Snow had believed in her first and if she had been here, things would have been different. And with that Ruby noticed that David was holding back something else.
"What happened?"
"We can talk about that tomorrow." His smile wasn't completely genuine, but Ruby let it slide. She felt a weight lift off of her chest. Literally, because Belle had opened the lock on the chain keeping her down. David held out a hand to help her get up.
He stepped back. "I have to get back to Henry."
Ruby tried to pull the cloak tighter, but the chains prevented it and Belle took her hands. Again. "Let me." She held up the key. "This is the best part." And for what felt like the first time in years, but it had probably been only a day, Ruby smiled back at her.
When the chains fell down she immediately hugged Belle. All the worries about keeping a safe distance forgotten. The beast had been contained, in fact there was no beast to fear at all and her friend had stayed through it all. How lucky to have friends who believed in her more than she did herself.
Granny cleared her throat. "Are you coming home or are you going for a midnight run, now?"
Ruby looked at her over Belle's shoulder, still holding on and enjoying the way Belle hugged back firmly. "Run", was her simple answer.
And as sudden as they had come in, David and Granny vanished again, leaving the two alone.
"A midnight run?", Belle asked as she put the books back on the shelf, except for The Last Unicorn.
"Yes. That's all I could think about."
"And you remember everything that happened, while...", she gestured to where Ruby had been lying down so miserably.
The self-consciousness returned. "I hope I didn't scare you."
Belle laughed. "I was only scared for you, not of you. That looked unpleasant." She pouted.
"It was." Ruby picked up the book and thumbed through the pages, trying to find where they had left off and put a piece of paper in almost halfway through. "Will you read the rest to me?"
Belle took the book from her, lingering a bit when their fingers brushed. "I wanna know how this ends."
"This?"
"It. How it ends."
Ruby had seen a flashlight in the utility room earlier and quickly picked it up. "So, you want to join me?" She offered it to Belle. "A stroll through the woods?"
This night there was a wolf running around the woods surrounding Storybrooke. Circling around a woman wearing the well-knows red riding hood. When Belle sat down, Ruby put her head on her legs, enjoying a scratch between the ears and listening to the rest of the story. Maybe there was hope for finding companions when you thought you were the only one of your kind.

I do wonder a little. If in your fic skyfire had lived through his crash and had a scenerio similar to them unearthing him like in g1 and found him well alive, what things will occur from it?
I’ve debated having this happen in Unburied. I think I might have him get unburied (hA) but I could change my mind on that. Just assume that the scenario I’ve outlined below could potentially appear in the story, so think of this all as potential spoilers!
The Decepticons would find him first. It’s just snazzier that way. I’m going for Maximum Shuttle Angst. They discover him and they of course instantly know who he is because Megatron and Soundwave did some sleuthing work on Starscream and discovered that he was falsely accused of murdering this guy.
They’d use him to do labwork and energon refinement work. When the Autobots find out about him and are like “give him over” Megatron would then use him as leverage. The ‘Cons would threaten to hurt him if the Autobots don’t let them do whatever they want.
Skyfire would at first have no clue Starscream is even still alive and would just be told “hey, there’s a war, the ‘Bots are evil, you should totally live with us ‘Cons on the totally cool not-crashed warship that is absolutely meant to be on the bottom of the Atlantic ;).” Skyfire would join but would also sense that Something Is Up and would be unsure if his anxiety is over being displaced in time or due to there being something actually wrong.
I think I’d make his personality like that of Steve Roger’s. They both get stuck in ice for an extremely long amount of time, both experience culture shock, and are also both goody-two-shoes who gasp in horror at swear words. (Which begs the question--who would be Tony? Probably Knock Out.)
Knock Out: I'm a huge fan of the way you lose control and turn into an enormous raging cargo plane monster.
Skyfire: ...You’re a racecar covered in polish. Take that off, what are you?
Knock Out: Still quite sexy.
(Would Skyfire actually say that? Maybe not. He’d probably just silently stand there all flustered and confused and wonder where his favorite jet is. I have only seen Cap in his first debut movie and in the 2012 Avengers so that’s the version of him Skyfire would be based off of)
Skyfire would refuse to be a 50-foot tall shuttle damsel in distress and try to escape.
They would decide to get him an Earth alt-mode. Knock Out and Breakdown would break into a museum and have him scan a space shuttle. They’ve broken into museums before in this show. Fowler would march into the Autobot base angrily pointing at grainy security footage of KO and BD polishing a space shuttle as a giant partially visible mech scans it.
Perhaps Skyfire would be visible in the footage or maybe not at all. Either way the Autobots would soon realize that the Decepticons have a new massive bot on their servos and the Autobots would get really anxious. If Skyfire is in the camera frame, even partially, Starscream would recognize him in just nanoseconds.
Fowler: Prime! The ‘Cons have a new recruit. We can only see the new guy’s kneecaps in this footage due to his big size. Who’s this chonker?
Optimus: This is a dark time for us. The Decepticons are expanding their ranks and we must be prepared to face a new large physically powerful foe in battle--
Starscream: *sobbing* THAT’S MY 50-FOOT TALL BABY SHUTTLE WHO I LOST IN THE SNOW
Megatron is upset he isn’t the tallest bot around anymore. He seems like the kind of person to be needlessly smug about being tall. I bet he made fun of Starscream for being short (even though he’s the one who fragging MADE Starscream short by giving him a new frame!)
Breakdown and Knock Out would glomp onto Skyfire (if they haven’t already joined the Autobots that is). Picture two gay guys adopting a space shuttle.
Knock Out: This is our son :)
Skyfire: Oh, uh, thanks! But... I’m older than you?
Megatron: He looks nothing like you two charlatans.
Knock Out: STOP TRYING TO TEAR THIS FAMILY APART
The meeting between Skyfire and Bulkhead would be... interesting. Skyfire knows diddly squat about Bulkhead but Bulkhead on the other servo probably knows more about Skyfire than Skyfire knows about himself. Bulkhead would awkwardly explain to Skyfire the fate of the data cylinder he launched towards Earth.
Bulkhead: So, uh, you know those... logs you made?
Skyfire: You discovered my data cylinder?!
Bulkhead: Eh, yeah. It caused a skoosh of a problem.
Skyfire: A ‘skoosh’ of a problem?
Bulkhead: It maybe kinda sorta overwrote my memories?
Skyfire: ...wHAT--
Bulkhead: Eh, it wasn’t your fault, y’know? Ahhh, we all make mistakes. I once sneezed on Miko. I once drove into a tree and got stuck. You accidentally created a device that erased my personality. Just another roadbump in the road of life hahaaa ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Skyfire: *panicked shuttle noises*
The public would be perplexed by him. Trending headlines would read “WHY WAS SPACE SHUTTLE ENDEAVOUR SIGHTED OVER A CITY?” and the government would have to scramble to explain why.
I need to keep a good ratio of good guys vs villains. Knock Out, Breakdown, Soundwave, and obviously Skyfire are good guys. Dreadwing will become an ally of the Autobots so he’ll slot into the good guy category as well. Megatron, M.E.C.H., Shockwave, and Airachnid will all continue to be villains. As for Predaking, I really don’t know. Then Darksteel and Skylynx come in and it’s just a lot of bots and a lot of potential villains and good guys. If Skyfire is introduced I’d make at least one of the members of the Predacon Trio a really big villain in order to balance things out. I’ll most likely pick Predaking because he could be a foil for Skyfire due to their massive sizes.

Let me summarize the Photography Ot4 of Kamen Rider Decade
Kadoya Tsukasa: A Tsundere. that's it.
No really, he's someone who's not honest with his feelings but is "technically" honest with others' feelings. Despite his amnesiac status, he has a very good read of a situation and the feelings and emotions associated with it.
The only time he's oblivious was when he recovered his memories that temporarily overwrote whatever he learned from the journey he started with Natsumi and her grandfather. (HC, Granpa Hikari isn't a bad guy, rather his actions were dictated by the gaia memory he had)
What I'm still struggling to see is if he'd help someone immediately as soon as he sees someone in trouble.
Let's have a scenario, Tadashi Hamada from Big Hero 6 died in a school fire. Suppose his dimensional curtain took him there, would he save Tadashi from the fire or let Tadashi save himself?
But what I know for sure is that Kadoya will save a lot of people from destruction even if it cost him his life.
Natsumi: The Empath
Natsumi has a good read on everyone's emotions, even if she's a bit naive in a lot of things. (The hard-boiled way was to kill Kadoya when she's been repeatedly warned by Narutaki that Kadoya would destroy everything.)
Despite Natsumi's naivete, she's also objective-oriented in the sense that she can make everyone do the tasks assigned to them, and can quell any and all potential murmurs and complaints.
Yusuke: Assurance
I see Yusuke as someone who needs that assurance that he's doing good and Yashiro did that for him before Kadoya came into the picture. I see him as a meeker version of Banjou of Build, at least until Kadoya comes into the picture.
After Kadoya, who he later believes to believe in him, he tries to match that belief with self-confidence into doing what's right, which net him a lot of good results.
Yusuke's faith in Kadoya waivered at times, but he always came through in the end.
It doesn't help that he's been out of the loop during the times when he and Kadoya were at odds with each other.
Kadoya Tsukasa is one of the people who believe in Onodera Yusuke the most, and he, in turn, believes in Kadoya.
Kaito Daiki: Oblivious
There's nothing else to describe Kaito but oblivious. We can blame that on his upbringing but the way he's able to misinterpret what kind of treasure Kadoya was referring to when it was all about friendship.
You could say Kaito is the Philip/Raito Sonozaki of the crew. I wouldn't say Chase 000 because he does understand his feelings whereas Chase was clueless most of the time.
I say Philip because Philip is all about logic and information. Compared to Kadoya's, Natsumi's, and Yusuke's feeling and emotion-oriented judgment.
----
Did I get their characters right???
Tsukasa: yeah pretty spot on, though he says it himself that he can’t empathize with others. So he relies on others. Specifically Yuusuke. He’d try to save a person in front of him if he Can, I’d say.
Natsumi: new way of looking at it but not factually untrue.
Yuusuke: post-Kuuga, Yuusuke needs no assurance. What he needed was a push. Tsukasa keeps needing pushes, because he’s kind of a disaster. The only time Yuusuke’s faith ever waivered was the Rider War, and he had every bit of info as the real Legend Riders. The only thing he didn’t know what Tsukasa was faking evil, something Only Daiki figured out.
Daiki: he knows exactly what Tsukasa is referring to, after the first time, which was a fair mistake when last time he met Tsukasa, Tsukasa was evil. Daiki may act like he doesn’t know, but look at his backstory. He claims to be logical but he’s not. He’s run by his emotion, and, in particular, his need/love/obsession for Tsukasa
