I was walking a dog, except it wasn’t my dog, it was Iggy from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. I was also walking him in the Nether from Minecraft. We fell into a pool of lava and died. I had the option to respawn, and when I chose it, I woke up.

Hey anyone else remember the episode of Adventure Time called "Evergreen" where it's revealed that the original bearer of the crown to whom it was "forever linked" was actually a neglected child (and prior reincarnation of Finn) named Gunter trying to be like his wizard father?? Anyone??? Because I had fully forgotten until re-watching the episode last night and I'm losing my mind about the implications.

(This episode is also a devastating look at how a mistreated child unconsciously learns that he must treat himself and those he has power over as cruelly as he has been treated. Adventure Time has so much sadness and madness, y'all.)

Ubehebe Crater
At the north end of Death Valley sits a small volcanic field. About 2,100 years ago, a body of basaltic magma forced its way to the surface along the Tin Mountain Fault, reaching the surface near the floor of Death Valley.
2,100 years ago, Death Valley was a different place. It more closely resembled the rest of the Mojave Desert's scrubby vegetation, and cooler temperatures allowed for more water to be present across the region. A shallow lake permanently occupied what is now called Badwater Basin, and other marshy regions were found along the length of Death Valley. As the body of basaltic magma rose to the surface, it encountered the significant groundwater deposits present. When lava meets water, explosive things happen.

(looking SW along the Tin Mtn. Fault)
A phreatomagmatic eruption occurs when magma encounters water and creates a near-continuous steam explosion. Ubehebe Craters consists of about 15 explosion craters, called maars. These many craters probably all formed about the same time, with the main Ubehebe Crater being the last one formed and therefore not filled with volcanic ejecta and debris. As the steam-magma slurry rose, it blasted through the surrounding rock which is a conglomerate composed of solidified alluvial fans coming off the surrounding mountains. Of the material erupted and thrown across the landscape, only about 1/3 of it is lava! The dark blanket surrounding the volcanic field consists mostly of fragments of this conglomerate baked and altered by its proximity to lava. You can find basaltic cinders with chunks of conglomerate trapped within, often baked orange or white by the heat.

The main Ubehebe Crater is quite large, about 800 m wide (1/2 a mile) and 270 m deep (800 feet). There's a steep and slippery path to the bottom, from which you can get a true appreciation of the size and power available in the inside of a volcano. The surrounding layers of alluvial conglomerate are faulted and cooked, showing that this area has seen some intense geologic activity in its lifetime.

Brown and gray layers show the surge deposits left by individual explosions during the eruptive period which probably lasted between a few days and several weeks. They sit directly atop the preexisting arroyo/bajada/alluvial fan surfaces.

I just have to say I LOVE the Instant Synchronised Murder Faces that Fai and Kurogane are whipping out any time anything even slightly unusual happens. It’s EXTREMELY warranted for where they are, and also just slightly hilarious whenever it’s like… a door opening.
BUT INSTANT SYNCHRONISED MURDER FACES I SHALL HAVE!
I suppose you could say the giant doors they had to open in Koryo were the tiniest bit foreshadowing this moment. Oh it’s even the same battle party too! Sakura didn’t come with them that time either, so it was just the four of them storming a giant forbidding castle controlled by an evil wizard who was watching them magically from a distance.
If there is acid anywhere inside the ruinsI’m allowed to start yelling.
Tumblr media
Oh! Also! In Koryo the inside corridor of the castle had a repeating hallway - kind of like a time loop, but a far simpler one. And when they visited the Memory version of the Clow Ruins in Recourt the hallways also randomly changed in size and shape, as if time and space were unstable - which is far more relevant now than it ever was before.
I can't believe they've done this.

The lava rock is one the most mysterious plot concepts that we had in a while. Because, unlike other concepts like hamon or the spin or stands, it brings something undefined and detached from tangible reality: Luck.
It can't be measured because it is a concept that we humans invented. Yet, it can be proved to work by arranging certain "conditions" that let actions fall into a "lucky" pattern. So; this is just a theory, the lava rock doesn't bring monetary worth things on itself, but it controls opportunities that can bring things of monetary values to its "owner."
Usagi, Dragona, and Jodio thought that if they let the rock touch something valuable then said thing will go to them regardless of everything. However, it seems that their experiment showed how the lava rock has to make situations to give back monetary value.
Usagi throws a 20$ at the ground, someone grabs it and uses it to buy stuff, at that time Paco is coming back with their drinks and by pure "coincidence" a fly lands into Paco's drink, then Paco goes back and with his wits he gets back not only the 20$ as a full refund, but also gets a new drink as well.
The lava rock not only returned the 20$ bill, but also brought back more of what was lost in the form of a new drink. So it could be possible that the lava rock needs a perfect set of "steps" to bring fortune.
So why did Dragona, and Usagi failed? Because the environment that they chose, a high end jewerly store with a lot of security, had too many "steps" to consider for the lava rock.
An open food court vs a small room, a single 20$ bill vs four watches, two relaxed people to "pull" and "bring" the bill vs four people on high alert at every moment for the watch.
In that situation there wasn't even a single "lucky" moment, and it seems that the lava rock worked with what they had for the moment, which is why one of the watches is missing.
