I had half a dozen empty blogs start following me in the past few hours, so obligatory “please make your blog look vaguely real if you are a human” announcement because otherwise I block on sight. 🤷🏼♂️

Have you ever drawn a colonists art before, cause I just got one and I kinda want to draw it
Oh, I love the descriptions of the art that my colonists make! I wish I was confident enough to draw it more often, haha.
I went through a bunch of my drawings to check, and I think the only times I've tried to draw the art from a Rimworld description is here when I drew Fafo's legendary monument and here on my other blog when I drew some art that had been carved onto a bed.
Drawing Rimworld art is a super cool way to practice, though, and I think people (myself included) should definitely give it a shot! Perhaps I'll have to look around at all the art in Eureka and see if I could draw some more of it. There's a lot to work with, and I bet it'd give me some great inspiration!

I'd mentioned some time ago that I was interested in setting up a Walk Across Tyria to End Cancer. I'm thinking July 23rd may be a good date.

a character can be as perceptive and insightful and intellectually curious as you can possibly imagine the fucking second they show signs of being a little rowdy or boisterous or just generally being cheerful and physically fit they instantly get slapped with the “dumbass” stamp because the faceless masses of general fandom trends still haven’t progressed beyond the immovable jock vs nerd dichotomy i guess

I think a lot of people's advice for selling commissions as a fledgling artist really skims over the fact that selling commissions is like. 90% customer service.
as a small sampler of examples, to sell commissions you have to:
be approachable and professional when advertising and selling your work;
have a clear and understandable terms of service that is either provided or easy to find;
set personal boundaries for what you will and won't draw, AND be able to enforce them, AND be able to do this without explaining every possible reason you have for not doing something (you can Just Say No.);
communicate clearly and often frequently to know what your clients want and ensure you're following their expectations;
be comfortable asking questions about those expectations, and know how to ask for clarification if something is described in a confusing way;
take accountability for mistakes, miscommunications, or delays;
be able to refuse to work for people who are exploiting you without feeling guilty;
manage payment information and receipts in a timely and organized manner (PLEASE use invoices rather than direct transfers)
like everything about selling art is its own post of advice really (I could go on for ages about advertising, and that's not even something I do a lot of) but a lot of people just. overlook the fact that as the artist you are providing a service and you do need the basic skills to provide that service or you're going to run into issues.

If I had a nickel for every time Dean Winchester breaks Cas out of a mind spell that makes him unwillingly violent I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s GAY that it happened twice.

Imagine you live in pelican town.
The new farmer has been here a couple weeks now and seems to be settling in, except... He's picking the weirdest friend choices. Like sure it's not weird to befriend the local fisherman, especially when he has an interest in fishing himself, but you're pretty sure you've seen him rooting through the Saloon's garbage with the local homeless man. As well, he keeps harassing the poor guy who works at Joja even though you KNOW he doesn't want to be friends with him.
And since you're on the topic of weirdness, isn't it odd he seemingly runs everywhere at a full sprint? Or just... Eats entire raw fish while fishing for "energy reasons"...
...
Despite all that, it's too early to call him off putting or anything... He has been engaging in town traditions, and he's started helping out with the old community centre. He's probably like the rest of you. Someone with a few quirks, that will fit in with the valley great!
Surely he can't get any weirder... Right?

my kingdom for people On Line to understand that yes, it is still sexual harassment if you're casting yourself as the receiver and not the aggressor in the hypothetical scenario you've constructed. in particular it is still sexual harassment to cold approach butches and masc dykes with shit like omg pin me down step on me. yes, even when you mean it as a compliment. yes, even if you're complimenting them on something else at the same time. i would encourage you in fact to try Not casting people you don't really know in sexual roles based off of their body type or gender presentation. maybe do some self-work instead. go to therapy. anything
