The manor was uncharacteristically quiet and still. No yelling, thundering of footsteps, or suspiciously loud crashes. It was peaceful and rather nice.

Which meant that Bruce could show off his children proudly with no chance of them finding and burning the book.

“Oh, Clark,” Bruce calls out.

Surrounded by stacks of papers, cups of coffee was Clark. His hands continuously tapping away on the keyboard but his eyes meet Bruce’s.

“Yes, Bruce” he answers—but more like mumbles distractedly.

His two jobs being Superman and a journalist for the Daily Planet had caught up to him, which resulted in this. Clark raced against time to meet his deadlines and went over the JL meetings he missed. He desperately needed a break and Bruce desperately wanted to show him something.

He smiled and walked over to his husband. “Guess what I found,” Bruce presented a photo album.

Clark blinked at the book before he took it in his hands and flipped through the pages. He chuckled when he saw familiar faces in unfamiliar ages.

“Come, I want to show you some pictures.” Bruce tells him. “And you need a break too.”

Clark stares at him for a while, thinking it over. Though he already knows that no isn’t an answer either way. So he allowed himself to be pulled out for the room by Bruce and onto the couch in the living room.

Clark looked at the book again, he noticed this was the same photo album Bruce showed to him last month. But the brightness in his eyes and the smile that graced his lips made it so it didn’t really matter to Clark.

They both settled on the couch, bodies pressed together so neither was in threat of falling off it. Bruce opened the book to a picture of Damian. Cheeks filled with food and an icy glare on his face, the sight of the picture erupted a snicker from Bruce.

“Oh! This one was when Damian was at the Manor for 4, maybe 5 months. Tim caught him eating the leftover pie. He was dead set on denying any pie was eaten even though the crumbs on his face proved otherwise,” Bruce explained.

He went on to explain the context of other pictures that he told him before too. The first dance recital Cass went to, Jason’s first day of school, Dick’s gymnastics competitions.

He explained each inside joke and facial expressions the same exact way, and Clark loved him dearly for that.

“And that’s Dick on his B-day, and here’s Jason—he’s still mad I have this so don’t tel him…”

The entire photo album lasted 2 hours and by the end both men were fast asleep. This was the perfect opportunity for Alfred to snap a picture.
