WRITE. YOUR. FANFIC.

Part of being human is being subjected to perpetual torment. But you know the one, special thing that we were gifted with to combat this? A coping mechanism.

I don't think you should worry too much if people find your work reprehensible. The important thing to remember about writing fanfiction, is that you're pouring an important part of yourself into every page - you're dedicating time, and effort, into something that you're aware will guarantee your wallet no semblance of monetary feedback. You should do it not because you think you've been burdened by the responsibility of impressing people; please scratch away that mindset.

Write because you want to impress yourself. The uncountable amount of kudos and hits won't mean anything if you're personally unastounded by your work. Trust me, nothing beats the feeling of reading your entire piece only to feel satisfied with what you've written so far!

For a writer, I think the hardest audience to impress is theirself. And for as long as you keep prioritizing to cross that threshold, writing fanfiction becomes exactly what it's meant to be: stress-relieving, liberating. Don't ever shackle yourself to a point that you lose sight of these two meanings, because once you do, that's when you'll encounter the stunts.

It's a long and tedious process, and some days, you'll even lose motivation. But you got this! Just keep writing. Don't ever let the opinions of people discourage you into doing otherwise!
