In contemporary Oxford, Harry Styles and Niall Horan run a magical bookshop, unbowed by an entire academic establishment that insists magic doesn't even exist. Sometimes, Harry finds, it's much easier to have faith in magic than in himself. Louis Tomlinson is a classically trained poet who needs something to believe in, and Liam Payne longs to be a part of something magical.

Bookshop AU #1
Characters both reach for the last signed copy of a book and end up fighting over it.
Person A grabs the book and runs to the register with Person B chasing them.
Person A buys the book and to Person B’s surprise turns around and hands it to Person B.
Without another word Person A walks out of the shop leaving Person B standing there staring after them.
Later Person B opens the book to find Person A’s number written on the inside cover.
What happens next is up to you.

“Hey, darling,” Y/N jumped at the sudden noise but grinned upon recognising the voice almost instantly.
“Hey!” She beamed. Y/N placed down the box of books she had been sorting out and embraced her boyfriend tightly. “What are you doing here?” She asked as she let go of him.
“You mean I can’t just pop in to see my girlfriend?” He inquired, arching an eyebrow at her. Y/N giggled and leaned up onto her tip toes to kiss him.
“Of course you can - you just don’t,” she pointed out. Loki rolled his eyes and kissed her again.
“Maybe I just decided to start being a good boyfriend,” he murmured.
“That’s nice and all but I’m working,” Y/N groaned, pulling away from him. Loki rolled his eyes but allowed her to move from his arms.
“Okay - you finish soon though, right?” Y/N fixed him with an unimpressed look and Loki gave an innocent smile in return. “You left your schedule out,”
“You’re adorable,” she told him, picking up the box of books from the floor again. “And you know exactly when I finish.” Y/N looked at hi pointedly. “Don’t you?”
“Half an hour?” Loki offered meekly. Y/N rolled her eyes, trying hard to supress her affectionate smile.
“Just admit that you keep track of my schedule!”
“That would be a lie though,” Loki called after her. Y/N shook her head lovingly, returning to work.
Only fifteen minutes later Y/N was struggling with re-shelving the books, letting out sighs and groans of frustration as she tried in vain to reach high enough to place the books on the shelves.
“Need a hand, love?” Loki offered, materialising behind her. Y/N pouted at him.
“Please?” Loki lent down and pecked her lips.
“Anything for you.”
