IdolMinji x idolreader hcs
A/n: I swear I just need to fill the time I'm writing bullyminji!! hope you like it!
Warnings: hate, body Shame and the rest is all cute!
Tumblr media
You met by being placed as MCs together
She accidentally created her own ship when she said "I want to say something but I'm super shy" to you in front of the cameras
he does challenge with her songs with you whenever a new comeback arrived
You and she started dating and had no experience with it
Made you sing omg in their anchor
At awards shows she takes your hand and stays alone with you while leaving her members , and your members together
asked danielle for help on how to throw a picnic for the two of you
She arranged to meet you at a restaurant and the restaurant was filled with paparazzis
when dispatch posted a photo of you two holding hands that was the end for you
New jeans boy stans gave you massive hate, so when you went live the comments were from users "Newjeanscuties753" or "Minjiunnie11"
started to compare your body with other members
you open a live with one of your members, when you position the camera the numbers are growing every second, you come across comments saying that you missed them and the other member laughs and murmurs "wow.. Have we spent so long without opening a live?" she says jokingly as she focuses her gaze on the camera and fixes her bangs, the more people come in, the more people talk about you, so the comments are divided between "stop harassing Reader!" and "Leave our minji alone!" and then the atmosphere gets heavy and your member looks at you until they see that you don't say anything else "well, do you want to know about what we are planning to do?" trying to get excited, you just nod and mumble as you pull out your phone "let's make a cake for unnie's birthday!!" the member starts to clap and you just smile as you read the comments that start to fill up more, the member narrows her eyes and bite her lower lip gently, You can feel a knot forming when the comments get heavy and you pick up your phone and put it in front of the member who gently opens her eyes and looks at the camera in disguise, then she smiles and turns off the live stream.
Minji comforted you more than anything, when they decided to collaborate on MAMA, they made you dance hype boy on purpose
backstage she had to ask hyein to pretend to cry so she could talk to you
when she saw how nervous you were she hugged you for a few minutes until she heard danielle calling her
She is very protective, she takes care of new jeans then she is protective without knowing it, but this is all because she loves you
On your birthday she called you to her dorm and all your members and the new jeans were there
won't reveal your relationship for fear of people talking about your body
sued a man who created an account posting deepfake of you
Haerin loves it when you go to see Minji because she makes a lot of food to impress you
She's secretly a loser and when you play card games she takes pity on you and lets you win, not even bothering to see Hyein and Hanni's grumbles.
loves to kiss your cheek
when they put your group and hers up for interview and the interviewer asked you "what's it like to be the least popular in your group, and only be famous because of a rumor?" the atmosphere became tense, she could feel Haerin next to her stopping looking at the camera and looking sideways at you as she saw you blush and play with your fingers as you stumbled over your words "i..hm... I admire my fans so much be-" and then as if a god had appeared, your leader interrupts you "well... I think she's the second most famous in our group... and has this rumor already been explained?.." your leader gives an exaggeratedly fake smile and minji could feel her members sighing and their shoulders relaxing when their leader defended you
She arranged to travel to Paris with you, but when you arrived an hour after her at the Europort, the paparazzi were already there, and it was on all the gossip sites.
loves buying furry coats for you
Sometimes she calls you "bro" and at the same moment, without you questioning, he apologizes and kisses your cheek
gave you a Chanel kit as a gift
When you're passing by a store and see a cute outfit, she buys it for you
makes you sit on her lap when it's too cold to put your arms around her waist
Sometimes she has a fit and starts mumbling things in Korean
she bought you several gifts, but he made you wear a set that she almost knelt down on, and when you wore it she was in love again (this.
wrote one of the parts of ditto thinking of you
fans captured your group's album with your signature on her shelf
hyein sometimes calls you "unnie girlfriend" without meaning to and minji feels like putting her head in the ground
bought minecraft for you to play and made mods so her bed has your face

Can you talk about your thoughts on hinny? I have no problem with people shipping it but to me personally it just doesn't work. It feels like Rowling tried too hard or maybe just wasn't good at writing romance and messed it up. Maybe it was too rushed? The ship doesn't work for me but I'd love to hear your views.
Okay, sorry it took a while to answer this, I actually have a lot of thoughts and I have posts on some of them that I hope to get out soon-ish. I also wanted to go back to the books to make sure I'm not talking out of my ass. But I don't like Hinny, never did. And my reasons are kinda divided into three categories.
Disclaimer: I don't have anything against anyone who ships hinny, it's just really not my thing and I don't see it working with the way I see their characters.
And that's like the core of it. I just don't see Harry and Ginny as compatible on a character level. That and their relationship never really read as believable to me in the books.
The 3 categories I mentioned are:
Harry's character
Firstly, I think Harry is gay. Not bi, but gay. I think he was never actually attracted to a woman and I have a whole post to prove it. So, because that's how I read his character, I just can't really see him with any girl.
(Now, I don't think JKR intended for Harry to come off as gay, but he did)
Secondly, he never thought about Ginny, like, up until book 6, and even during large portions of book 6, he just isn't thinking about Ginny as a potential romantic interest. And when he does think about Ginny in the final two books it never reads like he really likes her. It reads like they decided they are dating, but I don't think Harry knows why he supposedly likes her. He just decided he does, but doesn't know why. It was kind of the same with Cho, where he said he had a crush on her and was nervous around her, but if you asked Harry what he likes about her, his answer would be: "Ehh...."
Like, Harry doesn't really seem to know why he's dating Ginny, and neither do I. It's just how it's written.
2. Ginny's character
So, this is again my opinion, but I don't like Ginny. I just don't like her character. I wish her off the page whenever she talks.
And, when it comes to shipping, for me, I need to find both the characters involved interesting and fun for me to explore to ship them together and care about the pairing. As I don't like Ginny and don't really care for her, I can't really ship her with anyone, not really. It's not even like I hate her (not the way I hate Dumbledore), I just find a lot of her actions and behavior iffy and she annoys me more often than not.
I'm not going to list everything I don't like about Ginny (some of it appears in the rest of this post). But her treatment of Fluer, for example, really soured her character to me. Like, sure, Ginny's young, but, she's 15, and by that point, I think she should take responsibility for being awful to Fluer who was nothing but nice to all of them. Envy is not a good look for Ginny.
3. How they are portrayed together
Like I mentioned in the Harry section, their romance just never really felt there to me. The descriptions were off and left me feeling annoyed at their scenes together more than anything else.
Again, I'm writing a more comprehensive post about it, but the gist of it is that Harry's thoughts about Ginny in books 6 and 7 are weirdly detached for a supposed crush at best or outright uncomfortable for me to read at worst.
Now, we know Harry can describe characters he finds attractive in greater detail. There is none of that detail with Ginny. He only mentioned her hair color and that her hair is long and smells nice. Like, he doesn't talk about her eye color, her facial structure, eye shape (like he does sometimes with characters he does find attractive) — nothing. He doesn't even call her pretty once! At least he referred to Cho Chang as pretty twice in the series.
In the books there is never a scene (not even one) that convinces me they should be together. Like, they have no chemistry. They kinda remind me of Ron and Lavender tbh. They make out and are present in the same space often, but they never talk. Not really. I don't think Ginny actually knows Harry all that well because he never honestly talks to her about anything real. They don't really have chemistry or a relationship, they're just together. At least, that's how I always saw them.
And yes, Harry has his jealousy moments (that are portrayed so weirdly I always narrow my eyes at them to make sure they were actually there, but that's a whole other post about Harry's chest monster of jealousy), but he still doesn't really explain what he finds in Ginny. He doesn't mention she's attractive or pretty at any point, nor does he mention anything he particularly likes about her personality (except that she doesn't weep like Cho and is good at Quidditch. Neither of which are particularly good basis for a relationship).
Like, Ginny mentions why she likes Harry and that she does multiple times. Harry by contrast, just feels so incredibly uninvolved in his own relationship, to me.
Also, personally, I just find the setup of their relationship iffy. Like Ginny outright says she never gave up on Hary and always knew they'd end up together. It means, that since she was 11 (or earlier), she was crushing on Harry, never gave up on her crush, and considered them ending up together fate. She dated other guys to make Harry jealous and pay attention to her, and that's just really gross. I don't like her long obsessive crush on Harry or her treatment of the other guys she dated on her way to get Harry.
Proof of that, for those wondering:
“I never really gave up on you,” she [Ginny] said. “Not really. I always hoped. . . . Hermione told me to get on with life, maybe go out with some other people, relax a bit around you, because I never used to be able to talk if you were in the room, remember? And she thought you might take a bit more notice if I was a bit more — myself.”
(Half-Blood Prince, page 647)
She literally said she dated other guys so Harry would take notice of her. That just grosses me out.
So, no, I don't like Hinny (or Ginny).

All right...for those of you who don't know my thoughts about Wish, yes, I wasn't happy with the finished result, but no, I'm not a hater. I'm mostly just disappointed that this project that had so many good ideas came out so half-baked, and THIS is a perfect example of what I mean.
No, it's not because "Star Boy" appears in it -- at least, not by itself. I do actually like Star's "himbo" personality in this, even if I also completely understand liking the idea of a mute version of the character. (The downside is that the mute Star from the finished film honestly doesn't have much personality outside of just being cute, in contrast to other mute magical Disney characters like Tinker Bell.)
No, the lost potential here is two-fold --
Firstly, I once again felt more emotion watching this storyboarded sequence than I did at any point in the finished film. I smiled hearing the fun banter between Star and Asha, insinuating that they're becoming closer despite their contrasting personalities; I felt some suspense in how Star and Asha were going to get away from evil!Queen Amaya; I even laughed pretty hard at the cat-and-yarn gag! I didn't laugh once while watching the finished movie.
Secondly -- and this point is actually the one I want to focus on more -- is the commentary given about why this scene was cut. I truly think another unspoken reason behind the decision was that this sequence was clearly inspired by the transforming chase scene in Nimona, which Disney of course infamously dropped when they closed Blue Sky Studios and later got picked up by Netflix, only to receive glowing reviews from just about everyone...but one of the core reasons that Head of Story Mark Kennedy cites for why they changed this scene (aside from wanting Star to be mute and not a shapeshifter like other Disney characters, which I'm a bit confused about because yeah, Disney's done cute, mute non-human characters before too -- what about Dopey, Pascal, Maximus, Dumbo, Bambi, Magic Carpet, Sven, and again Tinker Bell?) is that they wanted Asha to be the hero and be able to "solve all her problems" without Star's help.
Up to a point, I understand what Kennedy means -- the theme of the film is supposed to be that we all have the power inside of us to make a difference, and that's great. But by making it so that Asha doesn't need any help from Star, it takes something away from their relationship. No human is an island, and relationships, both in stories and real life, are often built on that fact. Just look at Ariel and Eric in the original Little Mermaid -- Ariel saves Eric from drowning and from Ursula zapping him with Triton's trident, and then Eric saves Ariel from Ursula by skewering her with the broken figurehead of a ship. Even in non-romantic examples, we have Judy and Nick having to help each other solve the case in Zootopia; Buzz and Woody helping each other get back to Andy in Toy Story; the Parr family and Frozone all fighting together against Syndrome's robot with their unique powers in The Incredibles; Jim Hawkins and Long John Silver working together to save themselves and everyone else at the end of Treasure Planet; even Anna helping Elsa learn how to control her magical abilities through an act of authentic, courageous, selfless love that only she can do in Frozen. These characters needing help and deep emotional connections with others is what creates a bond between them, helps the characters grow and change into stronger people, and makes us as an audience enjoy watching the two characters together. We become invested in both the two individual characters and the relationship forged between them. Because they all have their unique strengths and weaknesses, they supplement and complete each other. Even perfect paragon Superman in most DC properties isn't an island -- when he's in the Justice League, there are plenty of times where he needs help from Batman or other team members to save the day. Even Superman is a stronger character when he has people around him who can balance out his flaws.
If Asha never needs help, that runs the risk of the challenges she's facing seeming far less consequential, because no human can handle absolutely everything, all by themselves. Yes, perhaps in the finished film, Asha asks her friends to help her liberate the wishes (a task which ultimately fails, leaving Asha to confront Magnifico alone again and realize exactly what everyone has to do to defeat him on her own anyway)...but just in regards to Star and Asha's relationship -- which even the filmmakers have said is something like a "soulmate" relationship, though not in a romantic sense in the finished product -- these two can't have a meaningful connection if one of them is completely self-sufficient. This is also why quite a few Disney fans didn't like that the Little Mermaid remake changed Ursula's defeat to have it be Ariel who killed her, rather than Eric, because it hurt the "equal" dynamic between the main couple where they both helped and supported each other.
In short, "girl power" shouldn't have to mean never needing to rely on anyone else...and honestly, looking at this scene concept, we don't see Asha relying on Star too much! She's the brains of the outfit -- she's making plans; she's providing Star some much needed common sense; she's using Star's light as a distraction so they can get away...she even escapes Amaya at one point by sliding right under her horse! Asha in this storyboard is a bad-ass!
What we see in this sequence is these two characters having to help each other in order to succeed. And that would've been a great foundation on which to build more dramatic stakes and a relationship with actual pathos, whether romantic or not.

10 Asks! Thank you! :}} 🌱

I assume I'm not, it appears to just be a chest cold 😞
Tumblr media
<XD I've heard of whiteboard yeah. But I've never used it. I can just imagine people popping in just to scribble all over everyone else's work. I'll think I'll stick to solo drawing for now-

XDD Sylvester has a tendency to be rather cursed-

@minnesotamedic186
I don't see why not! :}
Tumblr media
(Post in question)
Indeed it is! I made a post talking about his backstory but I can't access my archive atm so I'll do a quick recap-
I don't actually know anything about madness combat. Some friends of mine were really into it and made a bunch of OCs and I wanted to be cool like them 🥺 so I made my own madness OCs based on what little knowledge I had.
His name is Casey. And he lived out in the middle of nowhere Nevada with two of his best friends in this giant armored truck that they built.
At some point they were caught in a burning building disaster, some bandits stole the truck and Casey's friends died in the fire. He wandered the wasteland alone for a few years.. before eventually stumbling upon the bandits camp.
He stormed into the camp and killed everyone, unfortunately his truck was nowhere to be found. He did however find this little girl that had been captured and tied to a tree.
Him and "Stefany" then traveled together for a few years before meeting a scientist named Eric. He had gotten separated from his group and was stranded. I had this idea that the people from the wasteland hate scientists. But Eric begged for help. They made a deal that if they brought this guy back to his lab, that he would give them this valuable thing from the lab. He agreed.
Eric didn't intend to keep his side of the deal. But after a few weeks of traveling together and bonding.. when they got to the lab he stole the thing and gave it to Casey. Getting himself booted off the lab team in the process.
So now the three of them travel together. Eventually Casey gets hurt really bad and the group has to camp out for a bit. While Stef was out looking for food, she saw Casey's truck in the distance. She went and hijacked it, kicking out the two bandits that were in it.
She drove it back to the camp but the bandits followed. There was a stand off between the bandits and Casey. When suddenly..
"..Casey? Is that you?"
The two bandits were Casey's friends he thought he'd lost. There's this tearful reunion, a lot of story telling and explanations.. and now they travel together as a family :)
Oh yeah and at some point Stef gets a (probably) rabid raccoon named kitty, even though there aren't animals in madness combat..? Apparently?? Idk I had barely any world knowledge when I made these characters <XDD
But now that I'm thinking about them.. I should draw them again some time.. 🤔 anyways, thank you for the interest and for the ask! It means a lot to me :}}
Tumblr media
(video/link in question)
That's how I'd start probably. Then they'd build sandcastles, dig giant holes for no reason and play in the sea! :}
Tumblr media
@couchwow
Sorry, I don't take drawing requests. :/ and considering my state, it's especially something I will not do upon request..
And what are you doing askin me to draw? 🤣 I've seen your work, you're quite the artist yourself! Why not draw it yourself? I know it'd come out great! :D (genuinely)
Tumblr media
@astaherussy
I don't think much surprises the Mario Bros anymore. 😅 If they saw a crew of talking pirate cookies they'd just think "well this might as well be happening."
As for a bully on the ship, the crew would not tolerate any of that behavior towards Red. They'd shut that down real quick. ❌
Tumblr media
@fallingbones
:DDD Thank you so much!! :}}}
Tumblr media
@glitchhayden418
Jimmy's doin fine. And I'll draw what ever I WANT when I finally get over this, thank you very much! >:T ☝️☝️thank you tho :}}

I'm genuinely afraid that once the movie comes out and it inevitably doesn't "make trobed canon" people will be quick to criticize its quality for it and dismiss it as a whole. like it's a fatal flaw and bad writing. like the whole movie is shit because of it. It's not. we can love trobed all we want but it isn't owed to us and it doesn't mean the character arcs are BAD just because they don't turn out the way WE would like them to. It's not the only valid outcome.
and we haven't been queerbaited ffs. Does community really look like a show that gives a shit about what the popular audience thinks? do you seriously believe Dan Harmon and the writers would write anything into the show with the sole purpose of gaining the viewership of some specific audiences? LMAO go watch the show again. this show barely scraped by enough to get its 6 seasons because they DID NOT COMPROMISE artistic integrity, ever, they always made the show they wanted to make even at the cost of near cancellation and viewership loss. if they wanted to 'bait' any audiences into watching they could've made a more digestible, less fucking insane tv show my dude.
Tumblr media
and not to be that person but Yes, if you only think their relationship is worthwhile if they're canonically confirmed as romantic/sexual you are SO missing the point of what already makes them special in the first place. They're soulmates they're best friends they love each other more than anyone else and all this CAN be platonic/queerplatonic. You can dislike the writers' decision on that, you can disagree with them, but it does NOT mean it's queerbaiting or that the writers are making it a gay joke/trying to bait gay audiences. It just sounds like you're channeling your old wounds with past truly queerbaity shows into this situation when it does not apply at all, this isn't that kind of show and it never was nor will be.
And honestly, on another note, just take a look at how Dan Harmon writes relationships in general. No ship in community is meant to last. Every time he uses them it's there to show the character's FLAWS and why the relationships suck (jeffannie, jeff/britta, britta/troy, annie/troy...). He has NO INTENTION of writing a relationship that WORKS, that stays together for good, it doesn't interest him. If it appears in the show it's doomed to fail.
"Uh why don't they make trobed canon but we have to see these shitty straight ships that don't even work together :/" gee I wonder WHY. almost like it was written that way intentionally or something. With this in mind, him not making trobed explicit is honestly a GOOD thing and I am glad it's something just for us to dream about, because relationships in Community's universe just don't last. Friendship and found family are the things that prevail forever, as the 6 seasons kept proving again and again. You can dislike this about his writing, you can think it's a bad take, but it does not mean you can accuse him of queerbaiting just because he doesn't wanna write what YOU wanted to see onscreen. That's not on him or the writers.
TL,DR: we are not entitled to canon trobed and if you'll trash talk the movie just because it doesn't go through with it you're missing the whole point of the show you supposedly love and understand

Between the Black and Gray 29
First / Previous / Next
Fen and Zhe went back up to the command deck to watch the approach. Northern placed the view out of some forward cameras on the screen and what struck Fen the first time she saw it was just how ramshackle the station was. It appeared to be made out of more than a dozen old starship hulls.
"Is that.. made out of junk starships?"
"It appears that way Fen, but I'm not sure if they're junk or not. I can see a lot of reactors when I scan for emissions. It could be that they're just all connected together and can break apart when threatened." Northern sounded fascinated. "It's a good idea, really. If you're worried about some administrative forces kicking you out, you just break up your station and link away to somewhere else. Fen, Zhe? This is going to be a while. I was just told we have to wait for a place for us to park. Why don't you two go get some rest. I'll wake you if anything comes up."
Back in her room, Fen lays on the bed. It's large and cold and smells unfamiliar. The sheets are wrong, the light in the room is wrong, the mattress is wrong, the whole place feels wrong. She had been doing well enough until she talked to Zhe about Ma-ren and she feels alone in the bed all over again. Tossing and turning, Fen struggles to sleep. Finally sleep comes.
Fen dreams.
She's sitting on a large, seat, a throne really at the top of what could only be described as an... arena. Every single seat is filled with people who are there to see her. She can feel their excitement radiate off. They aren't coerced, they aren't forced, they are all there willingly.
To see her.
Or are they?
She holds out her hand for silence, only it's not her hand. The skin tone is wrong, lighter. She spreads her arms wide to welcome the crowd, but the length feels wrong. Glancing down quickly, she sees that she's shorter than she expected, even with the high heels. High heels? Fen hates wearing heels; they're so wobbly. Her body isn't quite right either, she feels top heavy. The crowd is so far away, that they haven't noticed anything yet, but the people next to her have. One of them, a women, about her size with a kind face looks over, her brow furrowed in concern. Fen feels an overwhelming desire to comfort her, let her know everything is all right, even though it clearly isn't. "I'm fine." she whispers out of the corner of her mouth. "Just jitters or something."
The other women nods very slightly and turns back to the crowd, not convinced, but unwilling to disturb the ceremony.
"People of the Reach! I come before you to tell you of news. Our battles go well, and we have captured the inner planets! Venus, Luna and the LEO principalities have all agreed to a peace plan." Cheers and shouts of praise. She basks in their love, buoyed by their positivity. "I myself will be departing for the attack on Earth. I will personally lead the charge. Soon, I shall return to you with the exciting news of our victory!" More cheering. "Until then, I ask for your patience and understanding, and I ask for more volunteers. We have three more Super Dreadnoughts that have been completed, and they need crews. Please, come to the recruitment office and sign up. Everyone who crews my ships will be eligible for relocation to any planet, station, starbase, and orbital of their choosing after our victory."
She stands during the cheering and applause at this last announcement, and concentrates. Her wings, made of gossamer, focused, golden light spread meters wide. Her crown, made of the same light flares in the arena, visible to everyone. Through the cheering and chanting of her name, she turns, leaves the dias and her wings and crown fade into an afterimage on everyone's eyes.
Behind the dias, a hidden door opens, and she ducks through, with the two people - including the woman from before - on either side.
"Now that we're out of the crowd, what was that? You looked like you were going to throw up." She sounds worried.
"Yeah, I saw you wobble. You looked down at your shoes and blanched." The other one, a middle aged man chimes in. He is tall and handsome, with dark brown skin and a coal black beard, flecked with gray.
"I'm fine, I'm... fine." She sounds unsure even as she says it. "I just had a strange feeling of being not myself. It's passed now. She turned towards the woman. Do you have the report of the developments on Luna?"
"Yes, Empress. Luna is pacified. Your military has cleared you for a visit to the people as soon as you enter the system. They recommend that you show up, give a speech, do a quick meet-and-greet with the citizens, and then continue on to Earth. Myself, Omar and a small guard will accompany you."
"Thank you Ava. I need a coffee, and then we can depart."
Fen awoke with a start, dripping with sweat. She was laying in bed, all of her sheets and blankets a tangle. There was a soft chime that was repeating in the room. "Yes?"
"We're going to dock in a couple hours Fen. I figured you would want to shower and change."
"Thanks Northern. How long has it been?"
"About nine hours. I let you sleep a full cycle; you seemed like you needed it."
Fen sits up. "Okay Northern. I'll be up in a few."
Fen gets up and pads to the bathroom. Being the captain, she does have a larger suite than average, and it has its own bathroom. As the door behind her shuts, she does not notice the sheets and blankets are covered in a very slight layer of dust, arranged like wings, centering on where she slept.
****
The docking goes without a hitch. They are brought inside the cargo module of a massive starship on the outer edge of the 'station' and are directed to a pad near the door. They land, and as the ship powers down, Northern walks into the command deck, shaking her hair with her hands and making a face. "My mouth tastes like pennies. I hate this." She puts her hands on her hips and faces Fen. "You're going to find us enough crew - or another AI - to do this, right?"
"Yes Northern. We'll find a crew. I can't thank you enough for this, I realize that its... distasteful for you."
Northern smirks. "I see what you did there. I'll have you know that puns always work on me." She nods at Zhe. "Come on. Shall we go meet your family?"
Zhe nods and stands, but her ears are flat, and she's trying to shrink down into her clothes. "O-okay Northern, Fen. Let's go."
"Hold up a moment." Fen turns to Zhe. "Are you going to be all right with this?"
Zhe stands just a little straighter. "Yes, I'll be all right Fen. You're my captain now. It's just that my family was... disappointed when I got the job with the Discoverers and went to Minaren."
"They're disappointed you went straight?" Northern's incredulity is plain on her face.
Zhe's tail swishes and she nods. "You'll see when you meet them."
The dock's air is cold and thin, but breathable. The three of them exit the ship and head towards the airlock at the other end. They walk past scores of K'laxi and other peoples tending the ships that are docked. There are easily more than a dozen in this dock alone. Fen recognizes K'laxi, Gren, and even some Sefigan designs. They step into the airlock and it closes behind them. "So, you three are the ones ballsy enough to come here in a Imperial Frigate and sing the bawdiest K'laxi drinking song known in order to get in?" The voice is low and gruff. "We've scanned your ship, it's empty, so we know you're not hiding anyone, and you don't walk like spies, though you have the air of a Discoverer about you, K'laxi." The voice pauses a moment. "Still, we'll let you in. Stay nice and don't cause trouble."
The other airlock door opens, and the air is hot and wet. The K'laxi homeworld is smaller and colder than Earth, so Fen expected the atmosphere settings to be similar here but if there was such a thing as an opposite to K'laxi weather, this was it. The lights were dark and yellow and the gravity was light. Fen kept feeling like she was about to trip. A short K'laxi, grey around the muzzle, with a human sized battle rifle on his back waves and bounds - literally bounds - over. "Welcome! Welcome to The Heap."
Northern grins. "The Heap because it's a heap of starships?"
He nods quickly, the earrings on his large ears jangling slowly in the low gravity. "Exactly so. What are you here for? Trade? Business? Or just to lie low from the Imps since you clearly stole their frigate?"
Fen crosses her arms and harrumphs. "I'll have you know I own that frigate free and clear. You can scan it anywhere and it'll show up under my name."
He winks - a decidedly human gesture. "Sure it does, Friend. I know hackers too. So? What's up?"
Zhe sighs. "Hi there Uncle Rev. Is Hemmi here?"
Rev leans around Northern and gasps. "Little Zhe! You came back! You finally realized that the government yolk was strangling your ability to pull for yourself!" He grabbed her and hugged her mightily and spun her around. "Hemmi isn't here now, but he's in-system. I'll get a beacon out to him right away. He'll want to know the news. Why didn't you tell us you were aboard? He would have stayed for the welcome."
"I didn't want to be a burden..." Zhe begins.
"Nonsense! I will not hear of it." Rev looks over at Northern and Fen. "Shacking up with two humans? My my! You're doing all right for yourself. I knew you couldn't keep your true self down."
"Uncle Rev!" Zhe's fur ripples as she blushes. "Northern and Fen are friends only. Fen is my captain."
"Well then I need to extend our thanks," Rev bends low and Fen sees that his tail is half gone. "Have you had a chance to witness Zhe in combat yet? She is unparalleled with a Gren soar-kinfe." He puts his arm around Northern and Fen and gives them a small squeeze and Northern glares. "Did you know she once took out three Sefigan warriors who thought they could bounce out of here without paying? Three! She was barely sixteen at the time. Her parents were so proud. They let her keep the entire bounty. I think that's how she paid her passage to Minaren."
Northern turns her head slowly to Zhe as her fur won't stop rippling. "A soar-knife? They're hard to use even in light gravity. in Human standard they take years of practice to wield safely."
"Well when you're a kid on a pirate station you get bored and pick stuff up." Zhe mumbles.
"So modest!" Rev squeezes their hips again and Northern smacks his arm off. "Come on! Let's go eat while we wait for Hemmi to come back.

What is trigun stampede even about
At its heart, Trigun Stampede about the conflict between love/pacifism and rage/retribution, set between two twin non-human brothers who love each other but diverge because of this conflict, even as they desperately want to pull the other back to them, with a mix of various other characters coming along for the ride. When future humanity creates a new type of lifeform called Plants, beings that are connected to a higher dimension's energy source which allows them to be used to create food/water/air/etc., humanity is not exactly great about this. Some people are kind and compassionate, some are horrifically abusive, uncaring of the hurt they're causing. The only two sentient Plants of the series are the twins--Millions Knives and Vash the Stampede--and when they discover what the humans are really doing, Knives crashes humanity's ships onto a desert planet with no resources, where they will truly die without the Plants to create food and water for them. Vash believes they can find a way to live together with the humans, he sees the best in them. Knives thinks they should all die for how they use Plants up until they die, for how they experiment on Plants, for how they attack anything that they're afraid of. (It's very much a "the villain really kind of has a point, but takes it way too far, but you can kind of understand how he got there, especially depending on how much pain Plants are capable of feeling, not that we know the answer to that" kind of set-up.) Their conflict (not that Vash wants a conflict, but Knives isn't going to stop stealing back all the Plants the humans have taken, killing anyone who gets in his way) plays out across the entirety of the desert world, with Vash basically unable to go anywhere without some kind of trouble coming down on his head (whether through his own Plant abilities being necessary, bad luck, or Knives stealing back a Plant) and this weighs on Vash's soul like a ton of bricks. Vash tries really hard to keep up the appearance of being the local sillyman, but babygirl has the biggest case of depression you've ever seen, because he can't stop people from being hurt, he can't stop his twin from hurting people, he can't stop all the conflict going on around him, he can't save everyone, no matter how hard he tries, no matter how many pieces of himself he loses along the way. But neither can he just sit things out, because he's a Plant, he's stronger and faster and more powerful than any human, he has to at least try. Try to save them, try to reach his twin. What makes it all worse is that, underneath everything else, Knives is doing this for Vash. Oh, he's definitely not doing what Vash would want and I don't mean to make Knives sound soft or kind or nice, he's manipulative and awful, but I do genuinely believe that his motivation under all of it is to build a better world for Vash, one that doesn't have humans, one that only has Plants. It has some really beautiful animation, some great humor, some really excellent side characters, some badass fight scenes, some fascinating worldbuilding, but primarily I am here for the conflict between "we can live together" versus "the humans have and will continue to kill us if I don't do something" overlaid with how they both desperately want the other to come around to their side. Also, it's basically a Space Western with scifi elements and it's great.

Random Ramble
I think it is hilarious how some people are so aggressive about sticking so thoroughly to canon, and not allowing for any room for imagination, because like, my brother in christ, canon does not exist.
None of these are real, the characters are not real, the story is not real. There is no such thing as canon.
There is only such thing as the op. The one who originally made the story and the characters, which is why we have copyright. So that no one can *make money off of these characters and the story*
But so long as you aren't plagiarizing the story in order to make your own money off of it. Once these characters are published and, in the world, everyone has free reign with them.
Once they are in your head, they are your characters. Which is why people interrupt their actions differently. Because the characters will appear different in your head compared to anyone else, including the author.
Idk the origins of the term canon, nor have I done any research on the topic (I'm just rambling) but tbh in my eyes it appears like we as a society have allowed money to ingrain itself so deeply into us as people, that we allow to dictate what we think. And this goes for the idea of canon.
Because the actual author is one making money off the books (rightfully so) it has become a sort of, is their way or the highway (this is just a half-thought through theory btw don't take it too seriously)
Which is why I personally love to take said characters and do whatever the fuck I want with them. Because whatever I make them do is in character for me, and even if it isn't, it might be for someone else. Because while they are in my hands, they are my characters.
Consider this a freedom post. You are free to think whatever the fuck you want, none of these people are real. Make Elain a villain, give Kosechi a love interest, make Feyre and Tamlin get back together after she divorces Rhysand. It doesn't matter what the og author thinks, so long as you aren't making money off these characters, you can do whatever the hell you want with them.
And I don't mean make theories crack, I mean you are allowed to genuinely believe this is the best course of action, even if you know the og author won't take it that way.
Cause personally, I do think Tamcien is a plausible ship, and I hope it happens in canon. Do I think it will? No, but Tamlin and Lucien are my characters when they are in my head, so I am allowed to think whatever the fuck I want about them. And same goes for people who disagree with me.
Like some people want Lucien to take over the world, I do not. Some people want Tamlin to die, I do not. Some people want a myriad of things that I do not, and both of those ideas are in character, so long as they are in your head.
Make elriel your canon, make elucien your canon. Fuck it, make Rhysand/Beron your canon.
The only person judging you in the voice in your head, and people on the internet and who gives two fucks what they think. Get as weird as you want, it's all canon, cause none of this is real.

Sherlock Holmes: Aro-Spec, A-Spec, Gay Icon
What is Sherlock Holmes' orientation?
Asexual? Aromantic? Homosexual/romantic? Why not all three?
Something I've noticed during my time in this fandom is that people can't always agree on what Sherlock's sexual/romantic orientation is. Most people say that he's gay, some people say that he's ace. These two headcanons are rarely paired together.
I've seen people who think he's asexual be called homophobic because it feels like it's taking away from the gay representation they get from Johnlock. What they don't appear to realize is that asexual people can still have romantic or even sexual relationships. It also seems that people confuse being asexual with being aromantic a lot. Asexuality and aromanticism are not the same thing.
(There are lots of people who don't ship Johnlock, and either ship Sherl with someone else or with no one and that's valid! I personally am a Johnlock shipper)
Asexuality is defined as a lack of sexual attraction and Aromanticism is defined as a lack of romantic attraction. Both of these have a spectrum as well.
Asexual people can experience sexual attraction, only experience it sometimes, or not experience it at all. If you are anywhere on the asexual spectrum, it simply means that you don't experience an urge to have sex with someone in some or all cases.
You might enjoy sex. You might be repulsed by it. You might be completely indifferent towards it. You might even have urges every now and then. That is still valid. On one end of the spectrum, you don't experience any sexual attraction, on the other, you do experience sexual attraction, and all throughout the middle are varying levels of attraction/urges or lack thereof. There are more identities out there under the ace umbrella. There's demisexual which means that you only experience sexual attraction towards people you've developed an emotional connection with first. Greysexual means that you rarely experience sexual attraction, but it does happen sometimes. Lithosexual means you experience sexual attraction, but don't want it reciprocated. There are many more, you can do your research if you want to know all of them. I don't want to make this post too long, as I fear I may already have done.
The same thing goes for the aromantic spectrum.
Being aromantic means that you don't experience romantic attraction. Depending on where you are on the spectrum, you may experience romantic attraction sometimes, or not at all. Some aromantic people love the idea of romance, romantic gestures, have no problem holding hands, kissing, etc. You can participate in romantic relationships, you can get married, and it will never mean you're less aromantic. All being aromantic means is that you don't feel romantic attraction. It being a spectrum means that on one end, you do experience romantic attraction and on the other end you don't. All in the middle, you experience varying levels of romantic attraction. The labels are basically the same as the ace labels and mean basically the same thing.
(Edit: I've just noticed that I forgot to mention queer platonic relationships. So here we go)
Aromantic people may experience feelings for friends that go beyond friendship, but aren't in anyway romantic or sexual. They may choose to form relationships with others that are more than friendship but not quite romantic. These are called Queer Platonic Relationships or QPRs. They are just as valid as romantic relationships and are not just friendships. People in QPRs love their partner just as deeply, if not more so than people in romantic relationships.
When someone is asexual, but not aromantic, you put a label for their romantic attraction. For example: Biromantic asexual, heteromantic asexual, homoromantic asexual, panromantic asexual, etc.
So basically, you can experience limited or no sexual/romantic attraction and still have relationships. You can be aroace and gay. So therefore my headcanon is that Sherlock is grey-homoromantic asexual.
It took me a little bit of deciding between demiromantic and greyromantic. But they both sound just as cliche as the other. In both cases, John is the one and only person that Sherlock ever falls in love with. If he's demi, it's because he's never gotten this emotionally close to someone before and that's why John is his only love. But I wanted to see Sherlock struggle with his new, unfamiliar romantic feelings from the beginning. From that very first day that John walked into the lab at Bart's.
Sherlock doesn't even know what the weird emotions he's feeling are. They are subtle at first, because love at first sight is even more cliche. He doesn't really start to feel them as anything too distracting or difficult until the pool incident. Almost losing John, caused other unfamiliar feelings that Sherlock didn't want to deal with, along with the telltale signs of romantic love. But Sherlock chooses to ignore it for as long as possible, denying the fact that he could be in love with anyone. Let alone his very straight, not gay in the slightest, bi in denial roommate. It's too much of a risk with anyone. Platonic relationships are already a risk, but he's seen the strange things that romantic love can do to people. He doesn't allow himself to feel most emotions anyway, why would he allow himself to feel romantic love?
Once he allows himself to realize that the emotion he's feeling is romantic love, he struggles with his identity. He knows that he's aromantic, so how is it possible that he's feeling this way? Eventually he will come to discover greyromanticism and realize that he's not crazy, and he's not suddenly alloromantic. He is experiencing rare romantic feelings for John, which he's never experienced before and will likely never experience again.
He's still aromantic. He's not "fixed". Sherlock is valid in being aromantic and feeling romantic attraction.
Then add in some asexual tension once they finally get together and we should be good to go!
Thank you for reading. Hopefully that wasn't too long for you.

Hiiiiii 🤗 I hope your doing well I was thinking about some ideas for one piece and maybe headcanons for the straw hats (mainly luffy) with a child/teenage cremate who is shy and fearful but loves the crew
They will stutter hide behind them l
Go on adventures with them
And we could see the strawhats fight over them occasionally
they don’t talk about their past but they were scared of people before due to issues but they have hope in humans but are kind and help out with things like strategies I just think it would a wholesome yet fun idea to work with
Also if you want it to be more interesting you can make them overprotective or maybe yanderish the possibilities are endless!
Feel free to ignore!
this is such a cute request omg !! tysm <3 i had a ton of fun writing these and i hope you enjoy { sorry i just chose a few of the straw hats, if you want the rest shoot me another request and i can do the whole crew :) }
✶ Shy Crewmate w/ Straw Hat Pirates Headcanons ✶
♡ Content Warnings: N/A
♡ GN Reader
♡ Word Count: 1.3k
Tumblr media Tumblr media
♡ Luffy ♡
✶ Luffy has always been your favorite member of the crew, but you'd never tell the others that.
✶ You find yourself clinging to him the most. His carefree way of life amazes you and you wonder what it feels like to have no fears. This wonder draws you to him more than anyone else.
✶ When enemies (or anyone, really) get too close, you find yourself getting angry and jealous. You try to suppress the feelings but they always cause your blood to boil until you lash out at the opposer. Sometimes it ends well, sometimes it doesn't, but Luffy always gives you a pat on the back that makes it feel worth it.
✶ You see him as the hilarious older brother you never had growing up. He helps calm you down in times of need and he tries his best to be patient with you, even if he often fails. It's the thought that counts.
✶ During heated battles you (very reluctantly) stay away from him. He’s always facing the danger head on and you know you can't let yourself get too involved with the fighting… Though sometimes if there's not enough time for you to make a safe escape, you'll end up with your arms wrapped around his neck holding on for dear life as he punches his way to victory. These are secretly some of your favorite moments. It gives you the sense of adventure you crave but are too fearful to seek out on your own.
✶ Luffy always saves a spot right next to him for you at the dining table. More often than not he'll unintentionally eat a good portion of your meal, but you're too timid to point it out to him. Plus, you're more than happy with what Sanji provides anyways!
✶ It may take a while (a long while) for you to come out of your shell a little bit, but once you do it's non stop goofy duets between you and the rubber man.
✶ He’ll never leave you out of the crowd. Even if you're trying to cower behind him, he'll pull you into the group huddle and make sure your voice is heard. It can be overwhelming at times, but you know it'll be helpful in the long run.
Tumblr media
♡ Zoro ♡
✶ You don't talk to Zoro all the much. He's a muscular, straight-faced, sword wielding “pirate hunter” and all of those traits mixed together scares the hell out of you. Despite this, every interaction you've had with him as been nice, so you know deep down he's a kind soul (even if appearances make that hard to believe).
✶ Most of your interactions with him include trying not to trip over him while he's sleeping on the deck in the middle of the day.
✶ The other times mostly consist of his insanely quick reflexes saving you from falling off of high buildings or into the water.
✶ You can recall one time early on in your induction to the crew where he was on night watch and you sleepily stumbled onto the deck, still trying to get the hang of being on the ship. He bluntly invited you up and with a little bit of hesitation, you agreed. The two of you mostly sat in silence and simply looked at the stars in the night sky, but you remember feeling an odd sense of comfort from the man. Since this time, you often think about asking to do the night watch with him again, though your nerves get the best of you and you can never seem to spit out the words you want to. Maybe one day you'll have another nice night in the crow’s nest…
Tumblr media
♡ Sanji ♡
✶ Sanji always makes it a point to make sure you're feeling as comfortable as you possibly can.
✶ He’ll bring you special snacks when you don't ask for them, he'll cook you extra servings since he knows Luffy always takes yours and you won't tell him to stop, and he’ll always makes sure you're full before you leave the table after every meal.
✶ You feel as though you can confide in Sanji a little more than the others. You don't know much of his past and he doesn't know yours, but you can tell you both have something in common, even if it's unspoken.
✶ His presence is calming and you never feel pressured to change while you're around him. He doesn't mind your stuttering or fumbling over words- he's always patient and caring.
✶ You'll never understand his crazy obsession with women and quite frankly, you never want to. It's something you've learned to block out and you try your best to avoid him when he's making a fool of himself.
✶ He’s always the first to rush to try to help you out of a sticky situation, he'd never be able to live with himself if something bad happened to you. He feels almost a parental sense of responsibility for you. Because he was cheated out of his childhood, he doesn't want you to be cheated out of yours.
✶ You view Sanji as your more responsible “older brother” or maybe even a little bit of a father figure. You've never had someone care for you so much and it makes you feel so welcomed.
Tumblr media
♡ Usopp ♡
✶ You and Usopp are kindred spirits. You two always try to stay out of trouble and are probably the two most conscious people on the crew.
✶ You both notice the tiniest details in everything that's going on. An enemy mysteriously moved from one place to another? Both you and Usopp are keenly aware of it. The group split off into smaller groups to divide and conquer? This chills you and him to your bones. Everything that goes unnoticed by the rest of the crew in battle, is spotted out immediately by the both of you.
✶ You find comfort in Usopp’s nearly irrational fear of everything. Him making up fake illness names to try to explain these fears never fails to make you crack a small smile even when you're terrified. Him being scared of everything makes you feel less alone.
✶ In your free time he'd try to teach you how to draw if you wanted. You accept the offer every once in a while and even though it can be stressful learning to do something new. Luckily, he’s extremely understanding and doesn't mind going over one step multiple times until you've got it down. Many of these drawings end up being pinned up in the kitchen or in various Straw Hat’s rooms.
✶ During most adventures and fights, you try to stick with Usopp as much as possible. Though he may not be the most reliable in combat, you know his intelligence and slingshot can get him far. As a bonus, you know he's always going to try to stay away from trouble as much as you are. And it never hurts to have a like minded rational person around!
Tumblr media
♡ Robin ♡
✶ Robin has essentially adopted you as her own child.
✶ Much like how she thinks of Chopper, she thinks you're absolutely adorable and will go to any length necessary to protect you at any cost.
✶ She has a talent for getting you to a place of serenity when things get extra overwhelming and she'll always take the time to work things out with you.
✶ She’s extremely analytical in her ways which can be frustrating at times when her points clash with your emotions, but the majority of her advice is extremely valuable to you. You never take her help for granted even if sometimes it's unwanted.
✶ After Usopp, you try to stay glued to Robin the most. You know she can and will protect you with her life, though the danger that comes with her name scares you a little too much for comfort. You know that following her will lead to trouble, but sometimes it's worth it.
✶ You love sitting on the deck and watching sunsets with her as she reads you a book or lists off random facts about whatever it is she wants to teach you. Before joining the Straw Hats, you hadn't learned much about the world and Robin has become your personal teacher.
✶ Most of your survival skills (excluding the ones you learned on your own before joining the crew) come from Robin and her well rounded knowledge. Her intelligence amazes you and you often ask her for help with common practices, to which she cheerfully provides.

"Drop me off up the road a little! I need to buy some items.". Elle called out to the carriage driver.
" No, you don't. You're going to the hospital to see your paramour." Fanny giggled.
" I am not. I do not have one." Belle shook her head.
"Then why do you spend so much time there?" Fanny asks, screwing up her nose.
"y/n however..." belle turned her eyes on you
"I think it's terribly exciting." Fanny claps her hands together.
"It is a little." You agree.
"I have come to realise that Sneed may not be quite what I thought, but it's no matter. in the next few days, a ship will arrive with a man on it." Fanny announced gleefully.
" Yes, not uncommon in a harbour town, where men outnumber us eight to one." Belle laughed.
"One man in particular. He's with the Bank of Great Britain, and by all reports, someone of outstanding virtue. Mother said she is happy to see me marry, even if it means me going away, and Father said he's prepared to offer a very generous dowry."
Part of you marvelled at how normal these types of conversations seemed to you now.
"He might be a perfect bore." Belle grinned.
"Please. Belle, you're speaking about the man I love." You all snicker,
"If the virtuous man from the Bank of Great Britain kisses you, you will know if he's the one for you. It will feel like nothing else on this earth." Belle says giving you a sideways glance. The two do you get out at the hospital and you make straight for Jack. When he sees you he excuses himself from the patient and comes straight to you, sliding his arms around your waist.
"Good morning." He said giving you a quick kiss."
"Good morning, Doctor." You can't help the giggle that escapes your lips. Jack takes your hand and pulls you into a cupboard, closing the door behind you before he pressed himself against you.
"I missed you." He whispered against your lips.
"I was with you last night." You say as you wrap your fingers around his waistcoat lapels.
"That was too long ago." He spoke between kisses.
"Why don't you stay, tonight?" He asks.
"Jack." You sigh.
"Why?"
"I just...I can't not yet." You say.
The door swings open and you both jump away from each other, Hetty looks down at you.
"There is a patient that needs attention, Doctor" she says, a small grin dancing around her lips.
"Thank you Hetty." Jack said, clearing his throat and walking out. You follow behind sharing a small giggle with the nurse. You see Sneed walking across the corridor his eyes fall on you. Jack already slipping away to his duties.
"Miss y/l/n, it is a pleasure to see you today." He said with a smile.
"Thank you, Doctor. Sorry I won't keep you from your work." You give him a curt nod and go to step away but he catches your arm.
"I would heed caution, y/n. It will not take long for people to notice you spending so much time here and with the unsavoury side of the town. My offer could still stand." He half whispers into your ear.
"Rainsford, you've already proposed to Belle since I last turned you down." You argue back.
"No matter, she has not given me an answer so I may still withdraw the offer." He says confidentally.
"Sneed, please remove your hand from my arm." You say attempting to pull away, his grip only tightened.
"Whatever you think that street urchin can provide you, trust me he cannot. He is penniless. I can buy you houses and horses and jewels."
"I don't want those things. Please let go." You say, panic beginning to rise up in your gut.
"Don't be stupid, y/n. You have two men of fastly different means. I am your best prospect. I am even willing to look past your... indiscretions." He yanked you closer to him.
"Rainsford!" You grit your teeth and tried to pull back once more when you feel his grip slip from you and a body appear between the two of you.
"Don't touch her." Jack held Sneed back against the wall, his fisted in Jack's hands
"Unhand me, Dawkins."
"She is mine! Come close to her again and I'll kill you."
"I don't see a ring." Sneed tried to seem larger than he was whilst still pressed against the wall.
"Mine." He said, giving Sneed an extra shove into the wall before grabbing your hand and walking away.
"Jack. Jack"
He stopped and turned to you.
"Did he hurt you?" He asked feeling your arm where Rainsford had grabbed you.
"I'm alright, Jack." You reassure him with a hand on his chest.
"Dodge, who in God's terrible universe did the Bank of Great bloody Britain decide to send here?" Fagin spoke dragging Jack along with him. You followed along with them.
" How on earth would I know?"Jack pulled his clothes out of his hand.
" Who is the wettest lettuce of all time?" Fagin asked.
" I don't know, but I Was bus.. No."
"Yes."
"No. Please, no."
"Yes."
" No!"
"That's right. Oliver pissing Twist."
"Oliver Twist?" You repeat.
" My goose is cooked. He knows everything about us. And he's so bloody honest. He would see it as his moral duty to send us both to the peelers." Jack panicked.
"Yes." Fagin sighed.
"Did he see you?" You ask.
"No. He was looking in my direction, but I have aged something considerable." Fagin said.
" You've looked the same since you were born. Like a bad piece of taxidermy." Jack growled.
"Hurtful."
You giggle.
"This isn't funny." Jack turned to you.
"It's a little funny. How ridiculous do your lives have to be have the one person arrived here who could ruin everything?" You ask, "look, I'll go back to the house. See what I can find out." You say.
"Wait, wait." Jack pulls you back to him. "I can't do this anymore. You must let me give you this." He pulls the silver band from his pocket.
"Jack."
"No, y/n You have unnerved me more than any other woman I have ever met. You fill me with equal parts joy and dread. Damn you. I can no longer do this without you. let me tether you here." He says eyes begging you.
You hold your hand out to him, letting him slip the silver band onto your ring finger. Jack kissed you hard before you ran off.
*_*_*_*
You reach government house just as Edmund holds a shovel of soil up to Oliver.
"Unsuitable for marrows, more's the pity."
"Oh. Shame." Oliver replies sniffing a pinch of the soil. You walk up to them.
"Ahh, Mr Twist might I introduce my ward of sorts, Miss y/l/n." Edmund gestured towards you. Oliver bowed his head to you.
"An utter pleasure to meet you."
"And you Mr Twist."
Fanny gives her father a pointed look.
"Yes, my daughter here is insisting we have a special dinner for you." He says with a frin that seeps through his wide moustache.
"Marvelous." Oliver grinned, "Yes. Now... I wonder, I believe I saw from my carriage window, an older man in ragged attire that I might have known from London days." Your heart started pounding in your chest and you wondered if the others could see it, "You have no idea... I think his name was Fagin."
" Oh, yes. Him. He works for a surgeon here, a Jack Dawkins." Fanny announced.
"Jack Dawkins is here? I knew him by another name then. I wonder, would it be a terrible imposition to invite Jack to the soirée?" Oliver gleefully clasps his hands together.
"Well, I would hope so, he is my promised." You say holding your left hand up, showing the band around your finger. Fanny squeezed and grabbed your hand.
"Oh this is wonderful news, y/n!" Edmund laughed.
"You and Jack? Oh then the pleasure meeting you is tenfold!" Oliver shakes your hand.
You thank him and follow the others inside.
"So much for he and I." Belle says with an eyebrow raised.
"You said yourself you had no interest in him." You answer sheepishly. Belle took hold of your hand bringing the ring closer to her face and inspected the small yellow stone adorning it.
"It's a beautiful ring. An heirloom?" She asked.
"Oh I'm not sure, it happened a little fast." You took in a deep breath feeling your heart clench.
"What is it?" Belle asked.
"I'm alright. It's just been a long day. I think maybe I should get some rest before the dinner tonight." You say.
"Yes, of course. Let me help you upstairs." Belle takes your arm and walks with you, "I do hope that our friendship can continue after your marriage." She says as you walk up the stairs.
"Belle, I wouldn't have it any other way."

There's a game I play as a writer that I call "Story Problems" -- I'll stop an episode or a movie halfway to three-quarters of the way through and try to sketch the ending I think the writers have in mind based on what I've seen thus far. Obviously, this is much easier with self-contained mysteries and ten-minute one-shot children's cartoons than extended dramas, but through regular practice, I've learned to pay attention to all the clues dropped in the exposition and how seemingly unrelated details are woven together into a coherent narrative whole.
Some people use the term "Chekhov's gun" for these hints, but I prefer "set-up and payoff". No matter what you call them, writing is essentially a sleight-of-hand performance, where the writer tell the audience exactly what they're going to do while simultaneously distracting them so that they're too busy focusing on other things to notice until the big reveal.
All this is a roundabout way of saying I've spent a lot of time thinking about the "story problem" represented by Walpurgis no Kaiten and how it might unfold.
First and most importantly, why bring Walpurgisnacht back in the first place? What role can a seemingly defeated witch (however mysterious) have in PMMM going forward? What are we, the audience, missing that would allow us to make sense of this? What in her story remains incomplete or unaddressed?
I sympathize with those who wanted Walpurgisnacht's nature to remain a mystery, but I think that ship sailed the moment SHAFT decided to bring her back for the sequel. If indeed Walpurgisnacht is returning--and why name the movie after her if she isn't?--then she must be somehow connected in some way to the main cast beyond her role in the original series as the Final Boss, or else why even bother?
(Seriously, if SHAFT wanted Walpurgisnacht's presence to be a surprise, they could have titled the movie literally ANYTHING else, but they didn't. That was a deliberate choice on their part, so I not only assume that Walpurgisnacht must be important somehow--central, even--but the big twist is not THAT she returns, but HOW and WHY.)
Cut to several years of radio silence after the initial announcement, giving me plenty of time to think. One night in the fall of 2022, the following conversation played out in my head unprompted:
Brain: Hahahaha, you know what, I bet they're really going with the whole 'Homura is Walpurgisnacht' twist after all! "L'audace, l'audace, toujours l'audace", and all that. Plus, can you imagine how angry this will make people on Reddit? Me: Okay, but why are you telling me this NOW?
Brain:
Tumblr media
Me: crying You sick son of a bitch.
To be fair, improbable plot summaries have something of a history in this franchise--if I were to travel back to 2012 and tell people that Homura becomes a witch and traps everyone in her labyrinth and then turns into the Devil, I don't think many people would have believed THAT either until it played out in front of them. But this one was particularly disheartening because the "Homura is Walpurgisnacht" theory*--which was initially popular when the series was released--was seemingly discredited in Rebellion with the appearance of Homura's witch Homulilly. To say otherwise was going to be one hell of a hard sell for a lot of people.
(*I know, I know, I know, Walpurgisnacht is a composite super-witch made of multiple entities, but I need a shorthand way of describing it, even if it's not as technically accurate, so bear with me here.)
But even though my assertion seemed counterintuitive on the surface, I was convinced that it would eventually prove to be the case for several reasons:
1) Another game I like to play as a writer is called "The Worst Thing That Could Possibly Happen" (alternate title: "Put That Character In A Situation"). Essentially, I try to imagine what would hurt/challenge the characters the most for maximum drama or effect, and then I make it happen. Based on Homura's history and her relationship with Walpurgisnacht, what would be the worst thing that could possibly happen re: Walpurgisnacht's return?
Well, given how much Homura has invested in protecting Madoka from this witch--from reliving the same month hundreds of times over to becoming the self-proclaimed embodiment of evil just to make a world where Madoka could be happy--the worst thing that could happen to Homura would be that she discovers that everything she's done, all that she's fought and sacrificed for, has led directly to the one thing she's been trying to prevent this whole time: the (re?)creation of Walpurgisnacht herself.
In other words, this tweet:
Tumblr media
I mentioned my theory to someone recently, and their response (paraphrased) was that they felt the original series had already covered this particular form of dramatic irony and they hoped WnK would go in a different direction. Fair enough, but this is a series that thrives on revisiting the same scenes from different angles, to the point of a shot-for-shot remake of Madoka with her family at the beginning of Rebellion to mirror the original series! So just because they've done similar things before doesn't mean it's necessarily off the table in the future--to me, that makes it even more likely, actually. And frankly, I think some amount of revisiting the past was inevitable the moment SHAFT decided they were bringing Walpurgisnacht back in the first place.
Given PMMM's obsession with cycles and repetition, I'd go one step further and make it worse: not only are Homura's actions what bring Walpurgisnacht back, these same actions are what lead to all the Walpurgisnachts in the past, so that Homura created the very monster who killed Madoka and caused Homura herself to become a magical girl in the first place. Essentially, Homura becomes her own ancestor in a massive time loop/bootstrap paradox with no beginning and no end (or at least, that's how it seems at first--I doubt that's where the story TRULY ends, though it would make for one hell of a cliffhanger).
It would be bad enough if Homura directly or indirectly created Walpurgisnacht AND created a time loop, but you know what would make the situation EVEN WORSE? What if the enemy that Homura had been fighting for so long wasn't some other external force outside of her, but her own SELF-- if Homura not only created her own enemy, but also WAS that enemy, too, becoming the thing she feared and hated the most? I've talked in my previous posts about how PMMM excels at making the metaphorical literal, as well as its proclivity for turning characters into their opposites, so this would be a logical next step in that direction.
Given that Gen Urobuchi's nickname is "the Urobutcher", I think it's safe to say he knows how to make characters suffer. Thus, I'd be deeply surprised if he doesn't play the same game that I do--and if so, he might draw similar conclusions to the ones I've outlined above.
2) A major twist in every installment thus far has been that Homura is not who or what we think she is--first a time traveler, then a witch, then the Devil. If this pattern continues, what new revelations would surprise us about Homura? In order for the story to continue, it's likely that she must grow and change beyond her Devil persona--what might that look like? A transformation into the massive super-witch that was her enemy would certainly answer both questions and then some, although it may not be the answer people want.
(If nothing else, Homura will likely have at least one new outfit in Walpurgis no Kaiten so that SHAFT can sell the merchandise, lol.)
3) Not only do Homura's actions drive the plot of PMMM, the franchise is deeply concerned with her emotional life, and she is the center around which everything revolves (although this is not always immediately apparent due to the way each installment is structured). Thus, it's likely that Homura's relationship with Walpurgisnacht is both central to the plot and deeply personal--and what could be more personal than this?
4) In a show with excellent visual design, where every detail is selected with care, and usually means something (even if that meaning is not immediately apparent), there are far too many visual and narrative parallels between Homura and Walpurgisnacht to be a coincidence. Having the two be connected in this fashion would explain all of this in a concise and satisfying manner.
5) One of the things I admire about PMMM from a storytelling perspective is how efficient it is--every character and detail has a purpose, and nothing is wasted. Having Homura be/become Walpurgisnacht is not the ONLY way to establish a connection between them, but it is undeniably the simplest and the most efficient from a purely technical angle, as it only involves one character the audience already knows and cares about vs. adding an entirely new entity to the mix.
That was my answer to the story problem of "What is Walpurgis no Kaiten about?" in late 2022, based solely on the limited information available to me (i.e.m the title of the movie + everything that has come before). But while it seemed abundantly clear to me--almost inevitable--that Homura would somehow become Walpurgisnacht, I didn't have a good explanation for HOW this might come about beyond "timey-wimey reality-bending and/or multiverse shenanigans"--which, while adequate for my purposes, was not enough evidence to convince others of my argument, and so I let the matter rest.
Then the key visual dropped in September 2023, and I burst out laughing the instant I saw the second Homura, because I knew how SHAFT was going to solve the problem that had stumped me: one Homura would create/become Walpurgisnacht and the other would attempt to stop her (and probably fail, at least at first).
Homura is such a complex and multi-faceted character, I think it's a bit simplistic to say that one of the pair will be purely good and the other evil. Suffice to say there will be one Homura that we're rooting for (the one with ribbons) and one that we're probably not rooting for (the one with the headband) and leave it at that for now.
I'll freely admit that I still don't fully understand the mechanics of how and why there are two Homuras or how Walpurgisnacht arises from the actions of one or both of them, but I don't need to: everything we need to know is contained within the framing of that key visual. Homura will be the source of all her problems in this movie; that's all that matters. Everything else is details--delicious, to be sure, and I look forward to analyzing them in great detail, but the core (heh) conflict of the movie is already apparent.
Of course, you could make the argument that my original gut feeling was wrong because the second Homura doesn't "count" as Homura. To me, that's semantic hair-splitting--for my purposes, if she looks like Homura and is voiced by Chiwa Saito and retains all of Homura's powers, abilities, and associated symbolism, then she IS Homura in all the way that really matter, but I'm sure people can and will disagree with me on that. In the end, when it comes to PMMM, it's Homura all the way down--and I think Walpurgis no Kaiten will make that literal before the end.
(not gonna lie, the idea that all the Clara Dolls turn into Homuras too, so that Walpurgisnacht is made up of nothing but Homuras is pretty delicious--but so is the idea of the doppelganger Homura somehow hijacking or corrupting the Law of Cycles, which we know is full of witches, and turning it to her own ends. Or both, both is good, too!)
I know a lot of people hate the "Homura is Walpurgisnacht" theory, but I think it keeps popping up for a reason, and will continue to do so until Walpurgis no Kaiten finally gives us sufficient information to either make it canon or lay it to rest for good. Personally, I love the idea--as a quick browse through my "#vein of gold" tag will attest, I love when characters are forced to confront their shadow selves, their dark sides, and their doubles; I love when the call is coming from inside the house. For me, Homura becoming Walpurgisnacht wouldn't be cliche or boring, it would be a plot twist that would explain everything we've seen to date while simultaneously re-framing it, making it a Greek tragedy of incredible proportions. And a lot of people hated the whole "Homura becomes the Devil" twist when Rebellion came out, so why should Walpurgis no Kaiten be any different in this regard?
One of the things that I love about this franchise is that it's never been afraid to go big and bold and cosmic while simultaneously remaining deeply personal--and solidifying the connections between Homura and Walpurgisnacht would be all of those things at once and then some. I don't know why this particular idea has captured me, or why I feel so strongly about it, but in the end, I don't have any inside information, just an intuition that refuses to let go.
Ultimately, I suspect whether you like this theory or not comes down to whether you think the primary conflict of Madoka Magica is external (characters battling an enemy outside of themselves) or internal (characters battling an enemy within). My gut feeling is that Walpurgis no Kaiten will be an internal battle playing out on an external stage, essentially making this a "both/and" situation, and it will revisit many elements of both the original series and Rebellion while simultaneously breaking new ground.
It may well be that Urobuchi and SHAFT have a different answer to this particular story problem than the one I've outlined here--but if so, I can't see it. In the end, all I can do is imagine the story that I would write based on the clues I've been given, which may or may not be the same as the one they are planning. We'll find out if there's any truth at all to my intuitions or if I'm barking up the wrong tree when the movie finally comes out.
And hey, if I'm going to be wrong, I'd rather go out with a wild and crazy idea than playing it safe with some half-assed guessing. If I can't be right, I might as well be INTERESTING. And there's always fanfic to fall back on if the movie ends up going in a radically different direction and I still feel strongly about this by then.

This feels like a weird thing to ask someone but I greatly respect your ability to speak your honest critical opinion (and in such well spoken terms) in an internet atmosphere where you can get crucified for saying anything less than full-throated praise--and that's exactly my issue. I run a small, fandom-oriented Youtube channel and despite knowing that I'm entitled to critical opinions, that I don't even want the attention of delusional reactionaries anyway, etc etc I'm finding it incredibly difficult to share what I really think of some shows + aspects of fandom and shipping. I've become weirdly terrified of saying one perfectly logical thing that does not align with the elaborate fantasy some people have built in their heads and getting canceled/losing the small base of followers I've managed to cobble together. The real nightmare is sharing something harmless like a shipping opinion and having purity culture come for me and call me a p*dophile for absolutely no reason. But at the same time I feel like a spineless coward for letting the toxic side of fandom win by scaring me into silence, especially when one of my goals for the channel from the beginning was to create a place where level headed critical opinion could be shared without fear of gross overreaction and slander. So I guess my questions are: is it as easy for you to speak honestly as it seems? Have you ever flinched before? Is it just about not caring what irrational people think or is there something else to it I'm missing? Sometimes it feels like my fears are valid and sometimes it feels like I just need to grow a backbone and get over it already.
Hey anon,
So I think there is one really big factor here: I am posting anonymously and facelessly and I don’t mind if I alienate people on the basis of an opinion I genuinely hold. If you’re actively trying to build a following and/or if you’ve made yourself identifiable, then I do in fact understand holding back more for reasons of trying to keep that following, or for reasons of personal safety.
But yeah: it’s mostly just that strangers who send anon hate don’t know jack shit about my life or me as a person; they just see an opinion that, as you said, challenges the elaborate fantasy in their head and attack the person who said it. I have, genuinely, been told things that I know for myself to be demonstrably false about my life (not even opinions about me I reject - demonstrably false things) by people who are ultimately just mad that I don’t like their characters or ships. I would obviously feel terrible if a person I knew in real life accused me of something terrible, and I’d still feel bad if it were someone I interacted with online with any sort of regularity, but someone hiding behind complete anonymity? They’re not calling me names because they genuinely think I’m bigoted. They’re calling me names because they are willing to use tools to try to drag me down because they cannot accept I don’t feel the same way they do about a character. They’re like when conservatives claim that denying service to queer people is religious freedom - they are using what appears to be a legitimate appeal to ostensible shared values, but really they’re exploiting the system and people's desire to take things in good faith because they can't stand not getting their way.
The other thing, and I recognize how much I sound like my parents here, is that your bullies are thinking about you more than you think about them. Anyone who sends hate desperately wants you to agree with them. Show them you are not thinking of them.
And finally, some of the hate I’ve gotten has genuinely been about the most anodyne things, which ironically helps because once you realize that no matter how bland an opinion is, some asshole will foam at the mouth about it.  Like, again, I definitely talk plenty of shit about ships or characters or choices I don’t like, but I got some wildly out of pocket shit from people who apparently could not tolerate the completely random example I used to illustrate a fairly uncontroversial and popular opinion re: ship tagging on ao3. And once something like that happens you realize that there’s no point in avoiding the spicier stuff.
I don’t know if this helps, and I recognize that I happen to have a particularly contrarian and not remotely conflict-averse personality. I respect the many people who are not willing to put up with hate and I don’t blame you if you’re one of them; at points in my life I have not been in a place to put up with it and was much less outspoken. But in the end, the thing about people who harass you is that they care so, so much about you agreeing with them, and if you tell them a flat firm no while also making it clear you don’t give a shit if they ever agree with you, they do tend to eventually give up upon realizing how one-sided their obsession is.

thinking about 3 and him making friends
I don't know how everyone handles him but 4 is definitely not the only one who cares about him
also I wish they showed it more but Meggy definitely considers 3 a friend
Mario also cares about 3 in his own way
He gets along well with Bob when they both want to
he can be nice to Boopkins
we don't see him with Melony which is a shame, they should touch on that more ugh
but yea like Idk the idea that 3 is isolated in 4's grasp to justify the idea that 4 could be abusive-
Sure, he revolves around 4 but it's not really fully his fault, they're cosmically assigned as a pair so like, the fuck can he do but make the most of it?
Like I'll say, he's definitely not fully integrated in the friendgroup and he still has a lot to work on in that regard but he's far from having only 4 as his friend
I think it's just rather that HE thinks that but like he doesn't even know if he should cuz his stupid ass is constantly scared, got them trust issues
You know who has that problem though but doesn't appear a lot so we don't think about it too much? Kaizo. Bro only really knew Saiko and like, that's all we really know of him besides like being irresponsible as hell
but we didn't really like, see him bounce off with anybody else
3-Meggy bouncing off works, similarly to how honestly 4-Meggy works, it's the competitive shittalking kicking in with both, although we saw less of it, since the 34 dynamic really took over
I bet Kaizo could have a great dynamic with someone other than Saiko but he doesn't get enough screen time for that
anyways I'm still fucked over the whole 34 thing. There's so much of them. I don't know, if their whole gay little thing is gonna forever stay a bit and nothing more, it's- gonna get boring real quick
like you can try and dangle the treat in front of us, the animals, but at some point after waiting for it long enough, we'll grow bored.
But really, it feels like such an odd writing decision to focus on them so much if they're just meant to be a bit and they don't want to progress their relationship further. Like it's not like that's what people prefer. Sure, there's a minority who would want only that forever but then it's just pleasing a tiny crowd which could drive others away. It just feels like it wouldn't worth going through so much trouble with them all for that
Like if they just wanted to keep it a silly bit, they shouldn't. focus on it so much. Like, logically if they put so much emphasis on them and tease the hell out of us with things like the end of wotfi23, forced hold hands, elevator, the god damn titanic scene, squidbob34, Perfect, them bitches always being next to each other, like you'll find them mostly next to each other in most scenes they're present in
like, logically, LOGICALLY, this shit's supposed to become more than a god damn bit. Why would you put so much in a ship, the actual like, majority of your fanbase doesn't really care as much about (see: that one youtube ship popularity poll on another yt channel) and some (although a minority) even despise and call the idea of making it canon the end of the world
I am just, you know, left wondering, what the hell is it for- if not for them to make it fuckin canon at some point?
Honestly, I think I said it before, maybe not publically but I'd find it really fun if wotfi24 somehow drove them to be canon
not like as an arc thing, just a fun thing yknow.
but then again, this pair has been a thing for a really long time now
like it makes you think about like, what would even be grand enough to match them, the anticipation that is if those 2 could ever get together, what could match that?
Or would it become like the Puzzlevision movie where it's like, it's fine but still kind of weak. Like sure, but, eh, I expected it to be more cool and like making the wait worthy
then again it would be really funny if they didn't make them canon on camera, we'd just see kiss them in the background while other characters get focus. Like Idk, maybe some random characters we don't see enough, getting together in 3's cafe and like. In the background we see 4 walk over to the counter and very clearly kiss 3 and then them talking. But like they aren't the focus so imagine people actually missing it LJLKLFFL
imagine being a shipper, missing the scene and then losing your shit when people post screenshots of them kissing and you have to go back and check and lose your shit even more
Idk I'm just rambling at this point

The Daemyra beach sex scene is one of the worst sex scenes I've seen. It's so stiff and frigid and it looks like they're afraid of touching each other. There's no melting, no revealing in each other, no basking in the ambiance, no true passion in it. Let's not even talk about Rhaenyra's face at the end because if that's the face of a woman who had fulfilling sex with the man of her dreams then I don't wanna know what she looks like when she's having boring sex LOL.
And Daemyra stans had the nerve to claim that we have porn-rotted brains and need to get our heads out of the gutter and stop wanting gratuitous porn-like sex scenes. First of all: you can go online (Twitter and Tumblr specifically) and see how many of them constantly bitch and moan about how they were robbed of 20000000 Daemyra sex scenes 🤢, and how they hope next season they get more sex scenes and how they wanna see Daemyra have angry sex and sex on the painted table. They're the ones who want them to have a sex scene equivalent to the sex scenes from 365 days. They're the ones who sexualize Daemon choking Rhaenyra calling it a kink, but we're the ones whose brains have been rotted from porn. Second of all: all we asked for (which we didn't) was a decent sex scene. A sex scene that they claimed was "passionate, sensual, and loving" when it wasn't. That sex scene was purely transactional and Rhaenyra trying to secure the political bag. You know who had a passionate, sensual, love scene Stefan and Elena from TVD. That scene is everything the Daemyra idiots think the beach scene was when it wasn't. Lastly: Daemyra stans were the main ones bitching and moaning about how bad the sex scene when the episode aired I remember 🤣🤣. They were the main ones saying that they had no chemistry and that it was flat, but when everybody else (team Green, team neutral, casual viewers alike) started to say the same thing these idiots backtracked and started claiming that it was the greatest love scene in the world. Overcompensation at its best. Bullshit at its worst.
Aside from Rhaenyra's face at the end of that sex scene, it was so pitiful and sad to watch her chase after him at the funeral, to throw away her dignity and self respect and follow after like a lost puppy dog after everything he's done to her. Then she goes on to tell him her whole 10 yr life story when he doesn't do the same in return, and spills her secrets to him (poorly hidden secrets that everyone knows about) when again he doesn't return the favor. It's like this man nearly got you disinherited, left you alone in a brothel, abandoned you to get trampled on at the wedding and you just welcome him back with open arms!! Grooming 101 at it's finest! This is what Ryan Condal meant when he said that Daemon's grooming of Rhaenyra is not only abuse, but that it traumatized her and shaped her into the person that she is
Yep, they were the first ones crying about the show doing Dumbnyra and that dry a** “love scene” wrong(just like with chokegate).
Then they realized that by saying that it was dry they couldn't say that the show portrayed Dumbnyra as an epic romance so they started backpedaling and saying that the scene showed how much “mature chemistry” they had together and that there was some ten-minute cut of the scene that HBO is going to release… at some point…..
Not to mention they lied about how there was some scene of them doing it on a table that got cut(which I see they've now moved onto saying it will be in season 2 🤣).
Or how they are hoping Alys uses some potion to make herself appear like Rhaenyra and then proceed to rape Daemon so that they can get a sex scene in season two(the fact that they try to accuse others of being demented sex-crazed perverts is straight-up hilarious when they peddle this cow dung).
It is really funny to see the mental gymnastics these people will do to claim that show!Dumbnyra is the ship to end all ships and that beach sex was the culmination of their love while at the same time claiming that this show isn’t canon(the same way they try to say that Rhaenyra died a dragonriders death when that doesn’t even exist in the book. That's 100% Sara Hess’s sh*tty writing to make Rhaenyra’s death look less pathetic). Which they by and large didn’t claim until the finale then they finally realized this wasn’t the Dumbnyra show.
This show has made it clear from at least episode four(it’s actually been clear since the premiere but they don’t consider a underage girl having her uncle make passes at her to be grooming) that Dumbnyra wasn’t an epic romance, but they ignored this because incest is hot or whatever.
It’s actually cause they were the only two youngish white people in a relationship, but I’m not getting into that today since they always start crying when you point that out too. Dumbnyra wouldn’t be this popular if they had more competition. I’m really hoping they get overtaken by at least the Alysmond fandom because they truly are an insufferable bunch of delusional weirdos.
Tumblr media
This 👆🏽was a preclude to beach sex(where Rhaenyra looked like she wasn’t having the time of her life) and to this👇🏽
Tumblr media
No one was duped. These people know what a good or even okay sex scene is (there are so many shows and movies that have decent sex scenes, HOTD should be ashamed of themselves). They know how an actual romantic relationship would be portrayed. Hell, they know that Dumbnyra in the books(see their stealing and re-wording of the text) isn’t an epic romance.
It’s a relationship built on grooming/lust for political power/ to be closer to brother dearest that culminates with Rhaenyra’s abandonment(which the show is setting up since Daemon keeps abandoning her every chance he gets).
Her being used by Daemon is the reason why I have 0.001 of an ounce of sympathy for her🎻(She’s still incredibly sh*try character and her going on a racist tangent about Nettles is 100% on her).
The only reason why these continue to lie and act oblivious(and hope no one calls them out on their bullcrap) is because they don’t want to admit they were wrong(that or they really are delusional).
