Posting online is learning to accept that there will be people who follow you or like your stuff, that are for ideals or things that you are against.
There's only a problem with your own content in that regard if it only attracts a crowd you don't want to see. But there will be people who love your stuff while simultaneously being a horrible person.
Accepting that is just another step of being a creator

Hello! Popping in for my bi-annual reminder that I make stuff and you guys would like it because the internet has returned to Tumblr apparently?? And you guys always had good taste. Ish.
So.
My next book is in the works and if you liked the last one, or if you never read the last one because who did but you're on Tumblr in this year of our lord 2023, you'll like this one. I can't say any more for like 6-18 months but if you'd like to be in the know, I share updates on Patreon (I also name characters after Patreon members and I am not against renaming a main character if your name is cooler).
I also do semi-regular newsletters (more regularly than I post here, anyway).
There's other stuff in the works which you'll see in the next 6 months! IT'S ALL COOL.
Otherwise, my other big project other than my degree is the Do Something Directory, which you should check out if you have a breakdown when you watch the news.
And with that I'm fucking off to work on the aforementioned stuff. Byyeeee
PS you guys were right about the pirate show, top stuff there lads

HOW TO HEAL AFTER A BAD DAY ৎ୭ ॱ ₊ . *
Tumblr media
“ It doesn't matter what anyone says. If there's something you want to do, don't mind what others think and just trust yourself.” -Lalisa manoban
Tumblr media
Healing after a bad day is essential to maintain your well-being and resilience. Here are some strategies to help you recover and find peace after a challenging day:
by: ★﹕byeolgιrᥣ﹒
1.Acknowledge Your Feelings:
Allow yourself to feel your emotions without judgment. Acknowledge what you're feeling, whether it's frustration, sadness, anger, or disappointment.
Journaling: Write down your thoughts and emotions to process and release them. Writing can help you gain clarity and perspective on what happened.
2.Self-Compassion:
Be kind to yourself: Practice self-compassion by treating yourself with the same kindness and understanding you would offer to a friend in a similar situation.
Positive affirmations: Repeat positive affirmations or self-compassionate statements to counter negative self-talk and boost your self-esteem.
3.Physical Relaxation:
Deep breathing: Practice deep breathing exercises to calm your nervous system and reduce stress. Focus on slow, deep breaths to bring relaxation to your body and mind.
Progressive muscle relaxation: Tense and release each muscle group in your body to release physical tension and promote relaxation.
4.Engage in Self-Care:
Take a warm bath: Soak in a warm bath with Epsom salts or essential oils to relax your muscles and soothe your mind.
Engage in a hobby: Do something you enjoy, whether it's reading a book, listening to music, painting, or going for a walk in nature.
Healthy meal: Nourish your body with a balanced and nutritious meal to support your physical and emotional well-being.
5.Connect with Others:
Reach out to a friend or loved one: Share your feelings with someone you trust and feel supported by. Talking to others can provide comfort and perspective.
Social support: Surround yourself with positive and supportive people who uplift you and make you feel understood.
6.Mindfulness and Meditation:
Mindfulness practice: Practice mindfulness by focusing on the present moment without judgment. Mindfulness can help you calm your mind and reduce stress.
Guided meditation: Listen to a guided meditation or visualization to relax your mind, release tension, and promote inner peace.
7.Reflect and Release:
Reflect on the day: Take some time to reflect on what happened during the day, what you learned from the experience, and how you can move forward positively.
Let go: Release any lingering negative emotions or thoughts through activities like meditation, visualization, or simply taking a few deep breaths and letting go of what no longer serves you.
You are capable of overcoming any challenge that comes your way. Remember that setbacks are just temporary roadblocks on the path to success. Stay focused on your goals, believe in yourself, and trust in your ability to rise above any obstacle. You have the strength, resilience, and determination to achieve great things. Keep pushing forward, stay positive, and never underestimate the power of your own potential. <143

ok like random -but boat boys are so funny cause like the fact that it evolved into such a elaborate bit to a point where 2 FULLY GROWN STRAIGHT MEN- one of which is married?? Are full on FLIRTING RANDOMLY and literally WHENEVER they interact lmao 😭😭 also like Etho?? I’ve never seen him play into a bit so consistently- it’s really funny how they both kept it going and now everyone else is playing into it too (scar saying get a room to them 💀) it honestly just makes me laugh thinking about the fact they just decided one day to flirt with each other whenever they interact just cause they think it’s funny to mess with us fans (I love them for it though <3)

Something that stood out to me a lot from this album is the intentional de-personalization of extremely personal feelings and stories. She seems to have decided for this project that in order to be free to be completely honest in her art (which tbf she always has been but never as much as this album), she needs to visualize herself, and thus her stories, as a third party, an external entity on which she's conducting a post-mortem examination. Her 2016 self and the hate train she suffered after Snakegate is reimagined as Cassandra, a character from Greek mythology who had visions in her dreams but no one believed her and instead she was punished. Her anxiety of holding her lover's career back is instead described as The Albatross, this girl who everyone has been warned to stay away from bc she causes problems and is a liability. Her sweet, innocent childhood self is depicted as a robin, a feisty little bird full of life, dreams, and potential who has yet no clue of the cruelty of the world.
Consequently, the characters in her life are, too, bestowed upon fictional characters from stories that have been told before and/or are familiar in some way to the listener (aIMee the girl from this allegorical high school which is actually Kim Kardashian, Peter the boy who never grew up and stayed forever in Neverland who actually is her long-term ex partner, both her and her lover's separate romantic involvements imagined as Chloe or Sam or Sophia or Marcus, her real life therapist referred to as The Professor etc). By using the representation of well-known characters from widely popular stories and myths with names and all, she creates an even deeper line of emotional connection with the listener. Then, the 4th wall is delightfully broken in Clara Bow, where she refers to Clara Bow and Stevie Nicks as the inherent precedents to Taylor Swift. But what's even more brilliant about this is that in this way, she is making Taylor Swift into a character in and of itself. She is actually attempting to externalize Taylor Swift from Taylor the real-life woman. By narrating her stories through tangible entities presented as completely external to herself, she is inhibited by the safety of this fictional/allegorical lense through which she's allowing her stories to be consumed, and as a result, she has unlimited freedom to be more personal than she has ever been in her art before.

I'm not sure if anyone has shared this yet, but it's phenomenal, and such a transcendent, emotional journey through her music.
the video is also spectacularly gorgeous, I'm in awe of the impressive talent, dedication, and time that must've gone into creating this and capturing the highs, lows, and connective tissue of these (230!!!) songs. it's like a magic distillation of why so many of us are impacted by and love her art the way we do:
