RWBY Christmas Tales
The Dessert Incident
Ruby: *squeals* I can't believe it! Our kids are gonna make the Christmas dinner this year! Mmmmm, I can already taste it! *spins around*
Jaune: I know, right? Finally, we get to put our feet up, relax and *bridal carries Ruby* have a little fun of our own. *kissss Ruby's cheek*
Ruby: Jaune, stop it! *giggles*
Jaune: *opens the door* Dante, Vergil, Blake! Merry- oh... oh god no.
What Jaune and Ruby saw was nothing short of a war zone. Blake was holding her brothers apart as they tried to attack each other with their swords.
Dante: You're such a jackass!
Vergil: At least I'm responsible. If I wasn't here, you'd have burned down the kitchen.
Dants: You ruined the dessert!
Vergil: You ruined my jacket!
Blake: *straining*
Jaune: Okay, enough! *drops Ruby*
Ruby: Ow!
Jaune: Whoops! Sorry, beautiful. *helps Ruby back up* What is going on with you two?
Ruby: What happened to the house?
Dante/Vergil: Dante/Vergil ruined everything!
Blake: *sighs* I'll explain, mom. See, all of us decided to divide the responsibilities of the Chrisfmas dinners. I was gonna do appetisers, Vergil was gonna do the dinner and Dante was gonna do the dessert. Things were going great... until Vergil decided to help Dante.
Dante: If by 'help', you mean 'wreck everything'.
Vergil: Dante, I swear to god!
Dante: I told you not to add raisins in the Christmas cookies.
Vergil: Well I like raisins! Besides, I wanted something different instead of chocolate chips all the time and raisins are healtnier too.
Dante: I don't care if they're healthy! They taste gross and absolutely do not belong in cookies!
Vergil: Do too!
Dante: Do not!
Jaune: Okay, okay. Look Dante, I think you should be more appreciative of Vergil trying to help you.
Dante: Hmph.
Jaune: And Vergil, you should've stuck to recipe. I know you like raisins, but everyone might not and you have to respect that.
Vergil: I guess. Still, he didn't need to set my jacket on fire.
Ruby: You what?!
Dante: *nervous laugh* Uhh, we can worry about that later. Right now, let's just clean up.
After the mess had been cleared up, the Rose-Arc family gathered together and sat down for a wonderful Christmas feast. Jaune and Ruby's stomachs growled with hunger as Blake took of the lid to reveal a crispy, roasted turkey.
Vergil: Little brother, would you like to do the honours?
Dante: By all means. *grabs Crocea Mors*
Blake: Whooo!!!! Go Dante!
Jaune: No! The family sword is not for carving turkey!
Ruby: *laughing*

Ruby: Is it ready yet?
Jaune: Not yet, honey! I just need to put the finishing touches to your birthday cake.
Ruby: It's almost midnight, Jaune! I need my sleep!
Jaune: Then go to bed. I'll be there when I'm done.
Ruby: But I want to watch you make it.
Jaune: Ruby, it still needs to- (Knock at the door) Who's that at this hour?
Ruby: I don't know. (Opens the door, Gasps) Dante! (Jumps up and hugs him)
Dante: Hey, mom! (Puts Faust on her head, Walks in) Heard through the grapevine you're old now.
Ruby: (Drops from him, Smacks his shoulder) Oh, Dante! You're so rude these days!
Dante: (Chuckles) Not my fault you're a third-rate Huntress.
Ruby: Third-rate?! (Pouts) What do you mean third-rate, young man?
Dante: Well, you'd be a second-rate if you actually tried.
Ruby: I don't need try. Don't forget who taught you everything you know.
Dante: (Chuckles, Sits down) So, what's for dinner later? Pizza?
Jaune: (Pokes his head in) We're not having-
Ruby: Ooh! Pizza sounds great!
Jaune: (Sighs) I'll put it on my to-do list. (Turns around) Ack! Vergil?!
Vergil: (Steps from the kitchen)
Jaune: Vergil, what have I told you about using your semblance in the house?
Vergil: Foolishness, Dante. Foolishness.
Jaune: I'm talking to you, Vergil!
Vergil: The power to wish our mother a happy birthday is rightfully mine.
Jaune: (Groans) I swear, you two will never grow up.
Vergil: (Walks to Ruby, Hugs her) Congratulations on another year of living, Mother. May you ever be present in my life for many years more.
Ruby: Aw! I love you, too, Vergil! And thank you!
Vergil: (Cuts open a portal) I shall return at four pm sharp. Oh, and Dante? Don't let the door hit you on the way out, dear brother.
Dante: (Rolls his eyes)
Jaune: (Watches as Vergil walks through) Get back here, Vergil! We're not done talking!
Ruby: (Giggles) I'm so lucky to have two sons who love me very much!
Dante: (Stands up) I'll be back later. I was just stopping by on a job. Grimm aren't going to cut themselves down. (Pats Jaune on the back) Oh, and Dad? Sorry about this.
Jaune: Sorry about wha- No! No, no, no!
Dante: Mom, (Poses) HAPPY! SMOKIN'! SEXY! STYLIN'! (Crashes through the door) BIRTHDAY!
Ruby: OH MY GOOOOOOOSH!
Jaune: MY DOOR! (Groans, Sighs) I'll put the batter in the fridge and fix it.
Ruby: Those boys of ours. They never changed, did they?
Jaune: Only in how much of a headache they give us. (Closes fridge door) But I am happy to see they're doing well enough to wish you a happy birthday.
Ruby: Something you haven't done yet.
Jaune: Later, Crater Face, (Kisses her cheek) after I clean up Dante's mess... again.

i think dantes plan for gaining the philosophers stone in fma 03 feels kindve awkward on a plot level, because yu'd expect the logical synthesis of 'philosophers stone is made of people' and 'causing wars to make the stone' would be 'amestris is genociding people in order to directly churn them into a Stone'
so the fact 03 instead goes for the more convoluted 'war and disaster makes people desperate for the Stone which means they will massacre others to make it' seems a really weird and unnecessary bump in the road plotwise against the straightforward elegance of 'cause war to make the stone yourself'. and yes, there is a plot reason given for it (or at least implied?): making the Stone requires both great skill and is very dangerous, so Dante doesn't want to do it herself. but I get the feeling that surely after 500 years and with a military dictatorship full of state alchemists at her disposal she could have found a more reliable method for having others make the Stone than 'cause trouble and hope someone is both smart and reckless enough to make it'
BUT I think it's another one of those 03 writing decisions that is messy plotwise but extremely interesting theme wise, because I think it helps tie together a lot of the big threads to do with war and equivalent exchange. the philosophers stone is a fabled treasure that lets you bypass equivalent exchange; except that's not true at all because making it requires the tremendous cost of thousands of human lives.
im having a bit of a hard time piecing my thoughts together here but i think eds line towards the finale about how there's no war we aren't involved is really important. the elrics began their journey believing in the fairy tale philosophers stone and joined the genocidal military because it was convenient to them. they believed that equivalent exchange would mean all their hard work would pay off eventually, but I think in another sense they didn't really understand that equivalent exchange means actions have consequences. just as the prosperity of powerful nations and its citizens comes from imperialism, so too does the magic of the philosophers stone stem directly from violence and bloodshed of war.
but the thing is, if dantes plan was just to have the military make the stone directly from war and massacre... it would be s typical evil bad guy plot and nasty and evil but nothing to do with our heroes. but the fact her plan relies on individuals seeking the stone changes things up I think - if ed and al were just a bit more ruthless that could very much have been them. The War for the philosophers stone very much has something to do with them. it's not an evil scheme they're helplessly embroiled in as victims.
and the fact this then means scar turns the tables on the military to make them into a Stone is also v interesting because it manages to be such a nuanced depiction. the elrics are clearly against it. but 03 often depicts the elrics as wrong and naive in their ideals, and it's undeniable the amestrian soldiers have done terrible terrible things in liore. scar is no longer even really an anti villain, but an anti hero, and his final act is to bequeath the stone as a gift to alphonse. but at the same time, even if we find scars motives here deeply sympathetic - the fact is it's still exactly what Dante wanted, all the same.
and so I think the Liore arc manages to have this really nuanced and open to interpretation depiction of violence and vengeance and killing that doesn't feel preachy but also doesn't flinch from being very upfront about the stakes. if we want to celebrate scar killing 7000 soldiers as an unambiguously good thing there's the awkward fact that Dante doesn't care who dies to make the Stone as long as it gets made. But it's hard to disapprovingly tut tut about how killing is bad and revenge is bad when characters like scar and Rose are so sympathetic and understandable.
not to mention of course the fact that Dante herself fully rejects the concept of equivalent exchange and hence of taking responsibility for her actions, even as she fancies herself as humanity's guardian. she wants other people to do the work for her and then swoop in just so she can live a little bit longer. she herself never comes even close to paying the price for the Stone.

The Sacrifice of Devils
TSoD (part 3 of the Devil's Saga)
Tumblr media
((Header Pic for the series done by Lil-Chilo)) The Sacrifice of Devils Rated M; has adult/heavy themes Fandom: Resident Evil Main Ship: Nemesis/Jill Valentine Side Ships: Chris Redfield/Sheva Alomar Chapters: 12/12
CW: graphic depictions of violence, psychological trauma, implied medical torture, implied/referenced torture, major character death (full tag list on AO3) Summary: "But already my desire and my will were being turned like a wheel, all at one speed, by the Love which moves the sun and the other stars."
The third arc in the Devil's Saga.
Based off of Dante's Paradiso: reflecting reality and the backlash of the real world.
An AU fic set 8 years after the events of RE5 and 7 after Teaching and Slumber. After the events of Teaching, Jill decided to leave the soldier's life, not just for her sanity but for the unexpected result of her misjudgment with Nemesis.
But cracks are below the surface - intentions, especially in Chris' case, are not completely clear, and Sia...isn't always as cute as her smile. And do not forget, that shadows from the past have a way of resurfacing...one way or another.
One such shadow will return - with a vengeance.
This fic will explore darker themes and topics: it will basically not shy away from nor sugarcoat the violent or suggestive situations within. Events from pre-mansion, RE1, 3, and 5 will be revisited (or taken liberty with). ________________________________________________ Excerpt from TSoD: Prologue-
Why? Was it desperation? Was it desire? Was it loneliness? A last ditch effort to control him? Love?  No. No? …I … I…don't know.
Her trust in humankind was shattered. Day in day out seeing people fight for little things; power, money, war. Things that brought out the worst in people, changed people destroyed them pushed them into man-made monsters. She saw it break apart good men like Chris, and saw it change those that already held evil inside into things beyond hellish.  The years of torment with Wesker broke what little faith and trust she had left. The nightmares still come but rarely now; they mix with dreams, dreams of an event that should have never been. The result of that stared back at her with innocent blue eyes years after.  As she sat years ago with a test in her hands, the unpleasant thought of what to do ran through her mind numerous times. She was reaching 30 at the time; she discarded the idea of a family when she joined the BSAA and then after breaking it off with Chris found that to be another dream to be put aside. But it sat in her palm reading in no uncertain terms proof of pregnancy. Something that never occurred, no never seemed a possible option on the table.  He who never had the option to be human, nor the comprehension to do the crimes of a man – but as all abominations of Umbrella was at one point created or cloned from one – still had the desires of one. She wanted to berate herself for her foolish moment of action, acting on such base motives…but in truth how could she? It wasn't forced, wasn't taken…she freely gave and he responded in kind. No…it was more she told him to, manipulated him using him for her own fucked way to grieve. But was that wrong? Wrong to have a creature made for the express purpose to kill, to destroy to be used for that? Was it wrong to have command over such power? To have that power lay hapless under her? Wrong to desire such power between her legs? Wrong to not expect the same comfort from a human? A deeply hidden feeling rose from within, this feeling she hid from the others, this feeling she had kept to herself as the years passed and her life started anew.  It wasn't all about her anymore. Vergil's Bio & RP Hooks
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vergil Greed Sparda
The viola who's strings strain for his faith in humanity.
Age: 43 (Dmc5), 53 (Main Arc)
Height: 6'4
Race: Half demon, half human
Relations: Older twin to Dante, Father to Nero and to a reborn V
Marital Status: Single and uninterested. He does have a deceased love interest from his past that he tried to protect.
Moral Alignment: Very grey. His outlook on others is very dim and untrusting, although he understands and wants to believe in true humanity. His empathy ends up concentrated mostly to those close to him, but it does stretch to the vulnerable. He struggles but is trying for the rest. In dire situations he will not hesitate to be greedy with his empathy. He will sacrifice others to keep his loved ones safe.
Personality: Cold yet gentle sums him up nicely. He is kind at the core, but his past trauma leaves him extremely guarded and distant most of the time. This is also the reason why his empathy is skewed; over protective of his loved ones and easy to abandon others. His upbringing also makes him an incredibly formidable foe, and his traumas can rarely render him feral.
Likes: Sparring, poetry, reading, music (plays violin, cello, and piano), Ieido, cooking, flowers (roses, forget me nots, lavender, lillies of the valley)
Dislikes: Pessimism, sleeping (usually results in nightmares if his constantly racing kind somehow manages to sleep), when he's forced to trust someone he otherwise doesn't trust, anything that could trigger haunting memories, anyone that's overly loud and rambunctious Abilities: He has much the same techniques and abilities as he does canonly in terms of battle. One key difference is his ability to manipulate space time with Yamato, which he's now much more adept at. It's not specific, but he's a lot more likely to alter his environment's tempo of time and through teleportation.
He does have great knowledge in alchemy and demonology however.
RP Hooks After Background
Tumblr media
Background
His past is basically canon except for a few marked differences:
The Sparda family was actually a lot older where demons were much longer lived compared to humans. Their younger days were spent in the early 1800's, and still looked 18 by the time the events of Temen Ni Gru happened.
The woman that he used to be with was someone he loved very dearly, named Eloise. She was a priestess of the Church of Sparda, but she was also secretly an experimental subject from them, too.
She had a slight resemblance to the angelic-like creatures that they made. Pale, looked largely human, but had a small pair of immature angelic wings. However, she wasn't a demonic spirit trapped and enslaved inside of an armour like the rest. Instead, they tried putting the characteristics and power of their armours directly into her. While they were successfully doing so, it also caused her body to slowly degrade and begin to die.
In time, Vergil found out about her treatment and how her body started to fray at the seams. By then it was too late for any thoughts of revenge and instead went into a panicked hunt for anything to save her. She was dying and had very little time left, so it was do or die.
With everything he had researched thus far, he chose to use this knowledge to further his search for Sparda's power. This time it wasn't intended for selfish strength, but rather to use it as an ingredient for an elixir of life. This led to the events of Temen Ni Gru, and explained why he seemed very impatient and agitated through the course of DMC3.
Through all his research, he also learned about how devil powers awaken, especially Dante's in particular. At the very least Vergil knew his actions of removing the seal to the demon world would wreak havoc across the human realm. He also knew that, at the time, Dante wasn't ready for that. He wanted his recently re-found twin to live by letting him grow strong through the trials of the tower, and chose to awaken his demon powers himself by running him through with the Rebellion.
In the end, he failed to obtain that power. Dante was right in trying to stop him, as Vergil's unstable and drastic nature at the time would have ended with him losing control of his father's power. Who knows how things would've ended then.
With failure and the guaranteed death of someone very dear, he made sure Dante could escape, and chose suicide there after by throwing himself to Mundus. After all, a katana user never throws their sheath away, especially when it's incredibly important as an iaijutsu user. Unfortunately it wasn't death that would greet him when facing Mundus.
He had no idea that she became pregnant and had Nero.
~~~
When he returned, he did have his ups and downs at first. Mainly his mental state taking an extreme dive soon after the Qliphoth tree fell. There was too much going on at the time to let everything sink in yet. The torment he had endured over the years flooding back, finding out Nero is his son whom he unknowingly abandoned, facing the death of his mother Eloise, and the high levels of depression and critical levels of illness Dante had fallen to over the years. (He had mild symptoms as a child but time has caused them to grow into severe complications.)
For a while, he fell into an almost feral-like state. Dante chose to nurse him back, which he successfully did due time. From there, Vergil chose to stay with his twin. Dante needed the help due to his physical state and lack of money. Becoming his forever caregiver from then on was the least Vergil could do and as a means of redemption and to give back after everything that had happened between the two.
With the hunts for demons becoming more and more scarce, Vergil chose the route of a regular human's job to financially supply his twin. Eventually he took the alias 'Professor Jun' and became a professor at a nearby college for physics. He knew it well between his studies and due to how he used Yamato. On the side he was also a tutor for music, alchemy, and demonology.
As time went on, Vergil did often go back to the ruins of their mansion as a mix of searching what could be recovered and for nostalgia. One of these trips would be extremely fruitful with the findings of a small fortune. To be exact, it was savings and treasures he had found as a child and had stashed them in secrecy. By now these antiques were worth much more than they did back then.
Still, it was money that Dante refused to take since he felt like he didn't deserve it. No matter how much Vergil tried, his twin always refused it. The only way he could otherwise help Dante is to pay for things behind his back. Mainly his bills.
Otherwise, Vergil chose to rebuild their old home, knowing there would be plenty of the fortune still left after. He also knew the space was needed between Nero's growing family and due to having V back as a second son. He also wanted it to be prepared for Dante for whenever his health took a dive.
This is where Vergil primarily lived now. He still took care of Dante and kept a close eye on him. Yamato's teleportation became a great asset in this regard. He also still continued his teachings as a Professor.
Sadly, he couldn't be content. Not when he knew his twin's health was failing. Just as he did with Eloise, Vergil spent most of his free time studying and in search of a way to help Dante. He could only hope he wouldn't lose his mind like he did before.
By now, an entire ten years has passed since his return.
Tumblr media
RP Hooks
Demon Hunter: Be it for hire or as a partner, Vergil is always willing to take up a job. If not for money to further help his twin's financial woes, then for the chance of a good challenge. He's ever craving for a good fight. He's still trying to understand empathy and trust, so he won't make a perfect partner.
Rival: A good rival comes naturally with his want of a good challenge. Only time will tell if a relationship with a rival will end up being a positive or negative one. As he's still learning empathy, there's a very good chance that an innocent could end up in the crossfire of his work.
Seeker of Power & Knowledge: He lusts for both very heavily. Much of his past trauma is based on his inability to protect others and his childhood self. These situations keep returning, currently in regards of his ailing younger twin. If you have the answers he's after, he will no doubt seek you out. Whether he'll take those answers by force or through naive faith in you, that's only something time will tell.
Guardian: There's always the off chance that he could be hired as a body guard. There's always a chance that something else could happen that may land him in such a role, especially if someone becomes vulnerable due to an attack or loss of family. Although empathy isn't something he has down entirely, he does have an instinct to cover the vulnerable. It's not unlikely to see him even carrying a kitten home.
Physics Professor & Tutor: Vergil's knowledge is vast thanks to several factors. It takes a certain understanding of space time to wield his shinken, Yamato, as a source of transportation. He has also gained much knowledge in demonology and alchemy in his quest to learn about his demon father and how to gain his power. Vergil also has a love for music, excelling especially in the piano, violin, and cello. There is also his prowess with fighting, especially with a sword. Anyone seeking to learn the above would do well to approach him. Or maybe you just happened to have him as a physics teacher in the college you frequent.Bookstores & Cafes: Both are places he highly enjoys for relaxing. A quiet atmosphere is a must for him to enjoy either. Sometimes he may be seen at an establishment as a part time employee if his twin's funding is feeling especially tight.
Update: Episode 49 is still so good
We've got Selim Bradley. We've got rage and sunk coast fallacy eating Envy alive. We've got Al being passively suicidal. We've got a sick art style for the Nash Tringham flashback. We've got Russell telling Ed to come back to him alive (Ed never does). We've got the quiet horror of the empty underground city. We've got Wrath's grief over Sloth, paralleled by Gluttony's grief over Lust. We've got Dante saying that homunculi don't have mothers while standing right next to Envy, who doesn't react. We've got cyborg Archer (including this bc it's funny and bc fuck him). We've got a callback to Maria Ross's arc and how Hughes affected her. We've got Winry and Sheska theorizing. We've got the beauty and horror of the Ed/Rose scene ("Edward, I love you"), with one of the best versions of Dante's theme ever playing. We've got Dante and Rose interactions, Dante and Ed confrontation, Dante villain monologue, just sooo much well written Dante characterization. We've got London!Edward babey!
God I love this episode
I've been having vague Hollow Knight AU thoughts lately (disclaimer, I'm not good at the game and get all the lore from YouTube):
Mundus was a moth-like Higher Being who reigned as king of the Dream World.
Sparda was a Wyrm, also a Higher Being.
Eva was a Root, also a Higher Being (the one thing this AU has in common with the reboot).
Vergil and Dante, of course, are vessels (Don't ask me if/why Eva and Sparda would kill their sons and reanimate them with void, I said this was vague).
Yamato is basically the Dream Nail.
Does this make Nero a half-vessel? Idk.
Red Queen is powered by Nightmare Flame, and the Blue Rose has some kind of Delicate Flower motif.
I feel like Fortuna would be a lot like Pharloom, given the religious overtones.
Kyrie resembles Bretta.
Trish is the same species as Nosk.
Lady is a regular pillbug-looking individual like you'd see wandering the Forgotten Crossroads.
Nico as a bug would actually resemble Angus's Angelo form from DMC4.
Vergil's whole arc in DMC5 was him succumbing to infection. Urizen was a Broken Vessel situation, and V was his shade.
The familiars are also made of Infection Goop. Griffon resembles a vengefly.
(I realize V being a void being who utilizes beasts in battle has major Collector vibes).
Long overdue review of Lostbelt 2.
Putting under the cut in case its too long and in case some mutuals are still behind.
I finished this a while ago actually lol. Anyways, When we first arrived in Scandinavia, I was unimpressed with another snowy place, like they really chose Jötunheimr for the location amongst the entire Norse mythology worlds but it explains it all in the end.
I have to admit after Lostbelt 1, this Lostbelt felt...lackluster. I feel like I enjoyed almost all of the characters--Napolean was really great. He came in with a strong introduction and continued to carry us throughout the Lostbelt, at times when he was withholding information I thought maybe he was suspicious but he wasn’t. He was a man who had regrets, and love and despite the harshness and almost hopelessness of the entire situation he kept going with a smile and I loved it.
I mentioned before that I love Ophelia. Coming to know her was great, her story chapter and her relationships with Mash and Napoleon were both touching and funny. I was also glad to see it wasn’t focused entirely on Guda.
I feel like Brynhildr introduction and the lore dump was good, the mystery revolving around Sigurd and Surtr’s integration. I loved the cast of Lostbelt 2, but the story took a dive in the wrong direction.
I know the entire point of the Lostbelt was stagnation, but having the plot go that way was a poor choice in motivation in my opinion. Skadi’s own unwillingness to act made the entire chapter feel like I was reading the same 10 pages over and over again. The fact they tried to make her an all-good Queen was...okay? I guess, it just felt that it lacked wisdom in my opinion. It was an interesting concept to explore about the all-loving-Queen and a world without war and hatred, only for them to turn around and try and say she wanted better but just couldn’t do so because of Surtr, just to justify the stripping of humanity, and making kids breed before 15 and killing at 25 was in poor taste. It felt like a poor ploy to try and sympathize with her.
I don’t know, it just felt like if someone told me ‘oh Zouken used the worms on Sakura because he wanted to eradicate all evil so he was good actually’ like that doesn’t excuse the crap he did to Sakura, in the same way, I don’t care that Skadi wanted better for humans when she was the cause of it all, killing what made them human to begin with. The fight for their survival here felt weak too.
I wished it had explored more on Gerda and her hopes and dreams in the aspiration from Napoleon. It felt like it was heading that direction but they wanted to beat around the bush.
Sitonai’s and Dante’s guest appearances made me happy but then they barely played a role at all so it felt a bit useless.
There was also something, I don’t know if it was just me or what, but the pacing of story segments after and before battles felt...off? Many times after I read a segment, I felt like I was missing something or that I skipped something entirely.
And when Ophelia died, it made me incredibly sad, but then Mash was on the field again and no one talked of Ophelia, and just...what even happened to her body after that??? Did we bury her, or did it disintegrate because of the Sirius Light? It never explained.
I don’t know, each character arc in this was great but piecing it altogether felt like a hot mess which kind of sucks to me because I really liked the cast. I loved Ophelia, Bryn and Sigurd, hell Napoleon was great too.
Oh! The part of putting Holmes on the bus, when he fought alongside us against Not Sigurd was great. The little tidbit of information of Helena, and him being sad, I really loved it. Like I want Holmes with us on the field! I don’t want him to be just another Romani.
I don’t know, if there’s any mutuals here that did love it, I would be happy to hear about your opinions! For me, this is just in the less than favorable opinion. Lostbelt 1 really went all out for me and maybe that just rose my expectation too high.
RWBY x DMC: Edgy Phase
Blake: Mom! Dad! You gotta come quick! Something's wrong with Dante!
Ruby: Wha? Hold on, sweetie! Mommy's coming!
Jaune: Ruby, wait up!
Ruby and Jaune rushed into the living room to see Vergil reading and Dante with his headphones on listening to music on his scrollphone.
Ruby: Uh, Blake? Dante seems fine.
Jaune: *glares at Blake* Is this some kind of prank?
Dante: 🎶You got nothin' and nothin's got you, I can see your fear, it surrounds you. Built with strife and insight, but it’s not enough. I'll defeat and discreet your every move.🎶
Ruby: ...
Blake: I told you!
Dante: 🎶Instinctual, just take your life. One step, one breath, you’re under my knife. Killing slow is the way I conquer. The torture test can't wait no longer.🎶
Jaune: Uh, I don't see how this is a problem.
Ruby: *starts crying*
Jaune: Ruby?
Ruby: WAAAAAAAH!!!! My baby boy is turning edgy!!!! *hugs Jaune*
Dante: 🎶With your first step you will burn. Can’t control the hate you have learned Killing slow is the way I conquer until you know the meaning of suffer!🎶
Ruby: *keeps crying*
Jaune: Ruby, I think you're overreacting here. *pats her back* There, there.
Dante: 🎶Step twice you invite and welcome death. Pay homage to me with your last breath. Say goodbye to a life that you once knew along with every being that was before you!🎶
Vergil: *sighs* So unclassy.
Say blondie, You good with a guitar, right? Coz i think I've got one just for You.
Tumblr media
This bad girl can both shock an audience and grimm, shooting out orbs of electricity when playing a nice solo, and when a freak gets too close, it can also switch into a scythe! Awesome, right?
Ruby: Oooh~!
Jaune: Uh, I'm not the best with a guitar, but I appreciate the thought.
Dante: Hey, no worries, kid! All you gotta do is put your soul into your work. That's what it means to be human. Or, well, part of it, anyways. And at least your girlfriend likes it.
Ruby: Aaaaaah~...
Jaune: I think you got her attention with the scythe part.
DMC5 secret ending AU
this was a collection of more of less random thoughts
Just like in the game, Dante looses badly to Urizen and he is yeeted to near death from the Qlipoth, Nero steps in and is able to break through (a severely damaged by Dante) guard of crystal Yamato and beats Urizen (who hasn`t yet fed on too much human blood). V is able to finish the fight and Vergil is reborn.
Qlipoth has not stopped invading the human world, and demon invasion still happens. Qlipoth WILL grow a fruit, and Vergill is determined to have it (or, more accurately, to prevent any demons from ascending to Mundus levels of power).
This entire post is based of my belief that Nero can fill the role of Vergil`s conscience even better than V did. I`m not about to hate on V, V`s cool, but I think he, as a separate entity, unnecessarily complicates things. V just has his thoughts and feelings a little bit closer to the surface, and is, is very rare occasions, even willing to do retrospective, but I believe Vergil is just as capable of all of that with some extrensic motivation - namely, from Nero. In this scenario, Vergil no longer has a rival, as Dante is defeated (another reason he stays in Redgrave, but would never ever acknowledge), he doesn`t feel the pressure of always being challenged, he is in good health and currently the most powerful being in the entire area, and if he gets the fruit he can get even stronger.
Add Nero to the mix. Vergil can breathe more easily for the time being, and here is Nero, who is open with his emotions and affections, who is worried about all the death and carnage and wants to save as much people as possible, and is actually worried about Dante. He can be the voice of conscience Vergil would be somewhat more open to in this situation.
I doubt Vergil would put the pieces in place correctly the first time, but I doubt that the moment he realised Nero is his son he would hide the fact like his brother did.
(here we have some oportunities for sudden father - unprepared son bonding)
They find Dante of course, but since Urizen was cut off from the tree, his brother too was not healed up on human blood. He survived with his demonic regeneration, but is still unstable.
With some emotinal nudging (more like beating), Nero once again becomes the bridge the brothers need to mend their relatonship*. Vergil is forced to choose between power of the fruit for himself or to save Dante.
_
* based on my personal interpretation of Dante`s arc in 5. If Vergil`s journey is about finding lost conscince and dealing with traume, then Dante`s if about damnation. Through the progress of the game he ignores of abandons everyone he holds dear more and more in his pursuit of rage (doesn`t look for Lady, abandons Trish, while he pushed Nero away to keep him from danger, Trish and Lady clearly needed some help and Dante completely ignored them both). Previous times he hurt Vergil on accident, this time he is fully intending on killing his brother, even if they are both in clear state of mind, he just gives into feeling of hatred and rage and ignores how happy he is at his brother being alive. In this scenario he made the first step on that road - he accepted the contract to kill Vergil, but was unsonscious for most of the destruction caused in Redgrave and he cannot blame Vergil entirely on this, since Urizen is no more - it`s just demons and the tree acting on their own. Brothers certainly would be hostile to each other, but without any reason to or motivation it wouldn`t be murdorous.
_
p.s. please don`t regrow Nero`s arm. He is clearly capable of forgiving Vergil for that, and also he has cool amputee representation - those one-armed Blue Rose reloads and absolutely great, and he wielded Red Queen just fine weakened as he was from the hospital. Spectral clawy claws are awesome, but they don`t contradict being an amputee.
*bonus points if Vergil officially met Nero first time somewhere in the city like Haytham met his son in AC3 - pinning from above, threatening with the stabby stab and then interrogating. Nero does NOT appreciate the behavior, but he is willing to talk so doesn`t resist too much
** bonus points for some a little feral on human blood Demon Dante
Between all four of you, who's the best Sparda Twin, Dante or Vergil?
Yang:Dante. I like Nero more.
Zwei/Rosemary:Dante.
Zwei:Vergil only beaten Dante TWO TIMES. He sucks.
Ruby:... I like Dante but... He reminds of Jaune for some reason.
Yang:....What? How?!
Ruby:I dunno why!
On Sight
*Jaune and Ruby out shopping with Garnet*
Ruby: Now all we need is chocolate chips and strawberries.
Jaune: I’m on chip duty, Garnet you get the strawberries.
Garnet, on his scroll not paying attention: Uh-huh, loud and clear.
Weiss, a few feet away: Jaune, Ruby?
Neptune: Well look what the cat dragged in!
Ruby: Oh, hey guys!
Jaune: Hey, Jack’s here too!
Garnet, head snapping up from his phone: *sees Jack* You...
Jack: Well fuck you too, heathen...
*Both stare each other down, then both boys fly towards the other, Spring and Winter Maiden flames flaring in their eyes, Garnet brandishing a broadsword of molten rock, Jack a rapier of ice.*
Garnet/Jack: YOU’RE GOING DOW-
*THUNK!*
Garnet/Jack: GUH!!!
*Both are stopped when a sudden wall of ice blocks them, Ruby and Weiss’ Spring and Winter Maiden flames in their eyes*
Weiss: One afternoon. ONE, can you two stop trying to kill each other the moment you’re in the same room?!
Ruby: Seriously, it’s starting to get old...
Neptune: I think Jack would’ve won.
Jaune: In your dreams.
Ruby/Weiss: You’re not helping!!!
Garnet/Jack: *groans of pain*
Fate crossover AU
Chalice: it is done.
Salem: so you turned those eight into masters?
Chalice: yes, and now we just have to wait until they destroy themselves to get the chalice.
Salem: and then the world will be engulfed by destruction and despair.
Chalice: exactly.
Salem: it is certainly a brilliant plan. Making ozpin’s favorite students kill themselves for a wish just so the last one can die in the end by their own greed.
Chalice: now, all we have to do is wait.
Salem: *with a malicious smile* i wonder how the war is going, how many of them are already dead? And who killed who?
Chalice: let's take a look shall we? *summons a large glowing orb.*
Salem: let's take a look at the berserker's master first, she seems to be the most violent one.
Chalice: *nods making the sphere show the berserker's master*
Nora: HHHHRAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!
Hercules: RRRRRRHAHAAAAA!!!
Nora: HHHHHHRRAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!
Hercules: RRRRRRRRRRRHHHAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Nora: HHHHHHHHHHRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
Hercules: RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!
Nora: *pushes hercules’ arm down against the table* YESSSSS!!!!! I TOLD YOU!!!! NO ONE BEATS ME IN A ARM WRESTLING!!!!
Hercules: RRRRRHAHHHRRAAH!!!
Nora: *crosses her arms with a grin* too much of a sore loser, aren’t you?
Hercules: RRHAHARAHHARR!!!
Nora: fine, fine, let's go for one more round, but if i win i wanna try out your axe, is that good?
Hercules: HRHRHAAAAARHHARR!!
Nora: then let's go!!! *puts her arm on the table and starts another arm wrestle with hercules*
Salem: *sighs* this girl has a lot of potential for destruction, only if she wasn’t so stupid.
Chalice: let's try someone else.
Salem: go for the silver eyed girl and her archer, lets see how ozpin’s pure warrior descended with this war.
Chalice: *nods making the orb focus on the archer’s master*
Gilgamesh: ENUMA ELISH!!!! *sends a wave of red energy destroying a whole mountain with ease*
Ruby: *gasps in awe with stars on her eyes* THATS SOO COOOOL!!! What other weapons do you have!?!?
Gilgamesh: heh, you are quite the curious mongrel aren’t you? But as i stated before, i have all the weapons that ever existed and that will ever exist.
Ruby: all weapons!? So you have crescent rose as well!?
Gilgamesh: *pulling crescent rose from a portal* of course mongrel, your simple weapon along with many others.
Ruby: please show me some of them!!! Pleasepleasepleaseplease!!! *begging with her puppy eyes*
Gilgamesh: *sighs with a slight grin* farewell mongrel, be grateful that this king enjoys your pathetic pleas, i will allow you to have a brief glimpse of my great arsenal *summons thousands of portals with several weapons*
Ruby: *heavy breathing intensifies*
Gilgamesh: what do you think, mongrel?
Ruby: *whispers to herself* im so fucking wet right now.
Salem: *facepalming* i should have imagined, what about ozpin’s chosen maiden and her lancer?
Chalice: *nods making the orb show the lancer’s master.*
Scathách: WHAT ARE YOU!? A COWARD!?
Pyrrha: I'M NOT A COWARD!!
Scathách: THEN PROVE YOURSELF TO ME MASTER!! SHOW ME YOUR TRUE COURAGE!!!
Pyrrha: I WILL!!! *bolts out of the room*
Scathách: *crosses her arms and sighs in deception* 3...2...1...aaand.
Pyrrha: *shyly walking back in* b-but what if he rejects me?
Scathách: for the last time master, you’re a hot, drop dead gorgeous warrior, what man in this world wouldn’t bent at your will?
Pyrrha: *looking down with a small blush* i-it’s just that jaune is really important to me, a-and i don’t wanna risk-
Scathách: *holding both of her shoulders* listen here master, you’re going to do exactly what i tell you to do okay?
Pyrrha: o-okay.
Scathách: there are many ways to get to a man’s heart, but the most effective is through their spear if you know what i mean.
Pyrrha: *blushes deeply*w-wha-
Scathách: shshshs, don’t interrupt me. What i want you to do, is get out of this room, find your men, pin him against the wall and ravish him senseless, Do you understand me?
Pyrrha: *blushing madly* i-i can’t do t-that!
Scathách: really? So you’re saying that you will allow your men to be taken away by some low whore like that white haired girl you told me about?
Pyrrha: *with a cold determination* not in a million years.
Scathách: *grins* that's more like it, now let me teach you some tricks that will make him squirm beneath you.
Pyrrha: *blushes again but listens carefully*
Salem: *deadpans* i honestly can’t believe this. Let's see the assassin, maybe he’s doing his job.
Chalice: *nods making the orb show the assassin’s master*
Kojiro: *sitting in a meditating position* hummm...
Ren: *sits down across him* here. *hands him a cup of his healthy green goo*
Kojiro: thank you master *picks cup and sips the goo* delicious, you have a great talent with herbs.
Ren: thank you, it is good to have someone who knows how to appreciate the taste and benefits of this juice.
Kojiro: i can’t see how someone wouldn’t find this to be as delicious as is healthy.
Ren: you would be surprised. now, shall we continue?
Kojiro: of course master. Hummm *resumes to meditation*
Ren: hummm *starts meditating as well*
Salem: *getting angry* why is the assassin drinking tar from the grimm pits instead of assassinating other masters!?
Chalice: i don’t know, let's take a look at someone else, maybe the saber master already started his battles given that saber is the most powerful class.
Salem: let's see it then.
Chalice: *nods making the orb show the saber’s master*
Weiss: hmm...the answer is fire dust.
Arturia: correct, another question perfectly answered master.
Weiss: thank you saber, you have been very helpful in my studies.
Arturia: there is no reason for you to thank me master, i am only doing my mission as your servant.
Weiss: still, it is really good to have someone who can help me study and that actually have manners around. Do you want some more tea? *picks tea kettle*
Arturia: i will gladly accept it master. *waits until weiss fill her cup before carefully sipping the tea*
Weiss: as much as i love to talk to you, i believe we have to finish some more urgent matters.
Arturia: indeed. Who was the one who discovered dust?
Weiss: hmm...it was-
Salem: *pinching the bridge of her nose* she has access to such a powerful servant, yet she’s using her to study!? Please tell me at least rider is still on his conquering plans?
Chalice: *nods making the orb show the rider’s master*
Iskandar: *watching yang finish chugging a whole jar of wine* HAHAHAHAHA!! YOU REALLY ARE A HEAVY DRINKER FOR SUCH A YOUNG WOMAN MASTER!!! *pats her back heavily*
Yang: *almost chokes on the drink but finishes her jar, taking a deep breath right after* and you’re not half bad for a two thousand year old guy! *pats his back making him fall on the ground* oops, sorry~
Iskandar: HAHAHAHAHA!!! YOU ARE A REALLY FUN MASTER!!! WAITRESS!! BRING MORE WINE TO US!! THIS FEAST IS ONLY BEGINNING!! *throws his jar on the wall*
Yang: YOU HEARD THE MAN!! *also throws her jar on the wall* KEEP’EM COMING JUNIOR!!!!
Salem: even the conqueror!? What is wrong with these servants!?
Chalice: i have no idea.
Salem: show me caster, casters usually are the most evil between the servants.
Chalice: *nods making the orb show the caster’s master*
Blake: *holding a spellbook* these spells...are they real?
Merlin: just as real as i am...what about these books of yours master? *holding ‘ninjas of love vol.1’* i am really curious to see how literature has evolved since i was alive.
Blake: *blushing* w-well, i wouldn’t recommend this one, i-if you want i can show you the libra-
Merlin: *holding the now glowing book* amazing, this book is filled with so much information about sexual intercourse, i’ve never seen one like that before, and the story is really thrilling as well.
Blake: wait...you already finished? And liked?
Merlin: of course, thanks to my magic i can read a whole book without having to actually read it, now, would you have more of these, i am really interested.
Blake: r-really?
Merlin: *nods* of course i am, i’ve never seen such an amazing piece if literature like this one in my time.
Blake: *closes her eyes and whispers* thank you gods, i don’t deserve such a blessing *re-opens her eyes and picks up her huge pile of smu- i mean, her huge pile of mature books* if you liked this one, i think you’ll love these, and then we can discuss about it once you finish.
Merlin: i would certainly love that, now where should i start master? This one seems interesting ‘the pirate quest for the booty’ can i take a look master? It does sounds-
Salem: ISN’T THERE A SINGLE SERVANT WHO CAN CAUSE DESTRUCTION AND CHAOS LIKE THEY SHOULD!?
Chalice: well, there’s still avenger.
Salem: avenger? Ohh yes...the avenger, the servant composed by the dark hatred of the chalice, there is no mistake now, this servant for sure is causing a lot of destruction. Show me him.
Chalice: *nods making the orb show the avenger’s master*
Edmond: *covered in dark flames* GHAHAHAHA!! YES!! I AM EDMOND DANTES!! THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO!! THE VERY INCARNATION OF VENGEANCE!!! THE GRUDGE OF DARKNESS!! THE MAN WHO ESCAPED CHATEAU D’IF!!! THE MAN WHO SURVIVED TO FOURTEEN YEARS OF TORTURE AFTER BEING BETRAYED BY THOSE WHO HE MOST TRUSTED!!! THE WARRIOR OF THE EXTRA CLASS!! I AM THE AVENGER!!!
Jaune: wow...fourteen years of torture?
Edmond: yes, inside that damned castle was only torture every day.
Jaune: and right after the peoples you loved betrayed you?
Edmond: yes, my beloved bride mercedes married to my best friend mondego, the man who betrayed my trust and framed me so i would rot in prison for the rest of my existence.
Jaune: oof, sounds rough buddy...wanna talk about it? My shoulder is free if you want.
Edmond: *crying on jaune’s shoulder* i didn’t knew the content of that letter!! It wasn’t my fault napoleon didn’t knew how to keep his word!!
Jaune: *patting his back* yeah, yeah, just let it all out.
Edmond: that castle was an absolute hell!! I suffered so much in it!! And even after i escaped i ended finding out that my bride married only a month after i was arrested!! ONE. FREAKING. MONTH!!! AND TO THAT MONDEGO ASSHOLE ABOVE ALL!!! DIDN’T SHE HAD ANY CONSIDERATION FOR THE MAN WHO LOVED HER SO MUCH!?!?!?
Jaune: *still patting his back* yeah, just like that, let all your anger out.
Edmond: *angry crying mumbles*
Chalice: well...that was unexpected.
Salem: *repeatedly slamming her head against the wall* WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!?
