You can like or dislike fanfiction, but I don't understand people who come to Tumblr to constantly complain about fanfiction...it's like going to someone's house to call their decoration ugly.

It doesn't matter if it's true or not ...why would you do it?

And the complaints are always weird like: "blablabla why do people think in tropes now?" "Why would you want to know what happens in the story, what's even the point of reading it then?"

You want to know why??? Because that's the whole point of the Romance genre!!! The predictability, the promise that no matter what they go through, in the end, there will be a Happy Ending for the protagonists.

I don't read a lot of fanfics but I do read a lot of books and e-books (as in unfortunately I have to pay for those😂). And you know what a lot of authors use to describe their books? Tropes!

An enemies to lovers story with a slow burn, a fake relationship story, a mariage of convinience, a best friends to lovers story etc... And this is coming from published Books.

Maybe it's because the market is saturated and it's the only way to stand out, maybe it makes it easier for their readers to find specific books, I don't know. But I do know that they use tropes to describe their books.

Why sh*t on fanfiction, fanfic readers, fanfic writers when actual published authors do the same??? What is the point exactly ?

And can someone explain to me what's so wrong about using tropes? What's wrong with looking for stuff to read by searching specific tropes? It makes it easier when you're looking for a specific story you want to read and helps you know what you will like or not. Which is great, especially when you're going to pay for the book.

Maybe you don't have a problem with fanfics but with the Romance industry in general? But then why target fanfics as if they were the problem?

Top cover gilt-lettered “le général de division Junot”.

Plot: Rhaenyra x fem!reader, ennemies to lovers.

At the start, in your younger years, you and Rhaenyra were best friend, you almost consider her as the sister you never had. But everything change when your sister, Allicient, marry Viserys, of course, you were happy for your sister! She'll be queen, but because of that, Rhaenyra start to avoid you, she does not understand how you can agree with this.

You didn't understand why she was reacting like this, she should be happy for her father, and Allicient was also her best friend, she should be happy to have her as a step mother. The years passed by as you grow up and you stop feeling sad around her and you just avoided as much as you could. But one night, everything change, Viserys announced that you had to marry her, this night, your heart broke. The woman that hated you the most, you had to marry her? No impossible. You ran out of the room as fast as you could, and you went to your room, tears rolled down your cheeks as you closed your door.

You were supposed to get married a week later, during the whole week, you had to try a lot of dress, to choose a lot of decoration, who you were going to invite and that kind of things. The night before the wedding, you didn't sleep, you could hear all the noise, of the servants running in the corridor, trying to get everything ready in time. As you were about to fall asleep, the sun start to rise in the sky, and you get up as you heard the maids open your door, you try not to sigh as they dressed you in a beautiful blue dress.

You feel your heart start racing as you enter the main room of the Red Donjon, all you could see was the beautiful targaryen at the table, Rhaenyra was looking at you with a disgust look on her face, everybody could tell that it wasn't going to be a happy mariage. To distract your mind, your start to see who was already here. Daemon, the uncle of your future wife, some lords, Viserys, your sister...

You walked across the room, trying to hide your sadness as best you could. As you sit, you wave at your sister before you hear the drums, you know what it means, you get up again, without looking at Rhaenyra as she does the same, both of you met in front of the table, as you start to dance with her, everyone could feel the anger irradiated of Rhaenyra as the fire of a dragon, but she didn't make a scene, as the dance ended.

Slowly, everyone start to dance in front of the king and the evening slowly passes by, and the time comes for you and your wife to say your vows, before going to bed, both of you said the words with a cold tone, avoiding to look each other in the eyes, even if she kiss your cheeks at the end. After that, you and your wife goes to bed, without a word, and you just lay in the dark, waiting for her to say something but she said nothing and sleep as far as she could from you.

Slowly, the weeks passed by, Rhaenyra was doing her task as the heir of Viserys, and you just spend your days alone, reading or doing other things. One night, as you were alone in the dark, you take a candle, take a paper and start writing everything that was in your mind for the past weeks, you said your pain, how much you feel like a burden for Rhaenyra, without any other throughts, you left the paper where it was and go back to the bed and fell asleep.

When you wake up the next morning, you were surprise to see that you weren't alone as the others mornings. Your wife was here, your letter in hand, a sad look on her face, she cleared her throat as she start to speak, "Is it true?", it was the first words that she said to you since the wedding, you quickly understood that she had read the letter, all you could do, was nod.

She let out a little sigh, "You know, I realise that I weren't a good wife, after reading this", she brandishes the letter, and speak again "I'm...sorry about that, I can't promise everything will go back as it was, but I'll try." she speak softly, waiting for you to say something, after a few moments, you opened your mouth, "It's okay Rhaenyra, I think that your father forget a step, courting", she nods before getting up, "you're right...do you allow me to court you?" she asking you shyly, you smile as this little action remind you, your youngers years, when you were both friends. "I allow you to court me, but you'll need to be patient." She quickly nods before leaving for the day.

Slowly, you start to notice little things, as sweet words on your office, Rhaenyra wishing you the best for the day and saying that she can't wait to see you again. Or you can come back from a walk and found your favorite flowers in your shared room, Rhaenyra always know how to pick the most beautiful flowers.

.

Also, she takes you on dates, one night, She wakes you up in the middle of the night as the dungeon was silent, you were still half-asleep as you dressed, Once both of you were ready, she takes you to her dragon, you smiled when you realise what she had planned for you, dragon riding. As she puts you on her dragon, sitting before you, You put your hands around his belly to hold. You can't hold back your screams as the dragon get out and fly high in the sky, to be honest, it was one of your favorite dates.

Months passed, as she was courting you, and, finally, one day, she required your presence in one of the garden, you run to see your lover, she hugged you before sitting on the grass, she took your hands and ask the question, "Y/N will you marry me again?", you jumped in her arms as she asked, "Yes! I do!"
