National Eat What You Want Day
Drop your rules and restrictions around eating and just enjoy life a little by eating what you want on this health and body image conscious day.
Many people spend time stressing over their diet, and what they should or shouldn’t eat, mainly because today’s world is filled with magazine covers sporting perfectly toned, perfectly tanned models that constantly make us feel inadequate.
The various health food fads that seem to come and go every few weeks definitely don’t help, either—as it turns out, a gluten-free diet is not particularly good for anyone who isn’t actually allergic to gluten, juice cleanses deprive us of the protein and fat our bodies need to function properly, and taking too many vitamin supplements just makes our urine expensive when our bodies flush the excess.
If you, like many people these days, are beginning to feel disillusioned with all of these things, you will be glad to hear about National Eat What You Want Day.
History of National Eat What You Want Day
National Eat What You Want Day was created by Thomas and Ruth Roy to help people break away from the frustrating health and diet trends of our times, if for only one day, and just let go and enjoy life a little.
Most nutritionists seem to agree that giving yourself a break every now and again can actually be good for us, and that forcing ourselves to eat only low-calorie, tasteless foods for prolonged periods of time is likely to cause us to suddenly gorge on everything in sight when our determination wears off.
Why should you celebrate National Eat What You Want Day?
We’re big advocates of this holiday! A lot of people have a structured way of consuming food. They have to be careful about what they eat, otherwise, they will put on weight and their health will suffer. Not everyone is blessed with a naturally fast metabolism. However, National Eat What You Want Day gives you the perfect opportunity to have the freedom to choose what you want without feeling guilty about it. It is also perfect if there is something that you have wanted to try for a while but you’ve been holding out because you don’t want to cheat your diet.
How to celebrate National Eat What You Want Day
It shouldn’t be too hard to imagine how to celebrate this holiday, really. You can eat whatever you want, isn’t that enough cause for celebration? Everyone is different, so for some people, this will mean pigging out on junk food.
They will stop counting calories and go berserk, eating everything from ice cream to chocolate to cake and pie, and then some cookies with ice cream washed down with hot chocolate, and then some ice cream cake. You get the picture.
However, nowhere in the holiday’s description does it say that you have to take this route to gastronomic satisfaction. Aficionados of gourmet cuisine can choose to celebrate by splurging on a meal at a five-star restaurant. Do you love lobster, but rarely order it because of its price tag?
Understandable, but today is the day to take a break. So call the poshest place in your city and spend an evening feasting on your favorite delicacies and perhaps washing them down with a nice bottle of wine.
Or, alternatively, you can try to recreate a favorite childhood meal in your home. Did your Mom use to make the best macaroni and cheese? Call her up and get the recipe!
Nothing beats a good comfort food to make us feel full, happy and sleepy all at the same time, so forget about fat and carbs just this once and enjoy a bowl (or pot) of that filling, creamy goodness.
Or maybe you’re a strict vegetarian who can’t help but miss steak or shrimp every now and then—if so, maybe you should treat yourself to something you wouldn’t usually eat just to reward your body for the tasty things it has to go without on a daily basis?
The key is to eat something that you truly enjoy, so whatever food that is for you, get celebrating!
What is everyone going to be eating on National Eat What You Want Day?
You may be wondering what everyone else is going to be eating on this holiday. Data that was gathered by the Top Agency may give you some answers! They have revealed that the number one food Americans would eat every day if they did not have to worry about the consequences is pizza! This was closely followed by pasta, and then both burgers and ice cream were in joint third place. In the fourth spot, it was a tie between French fries, chocolate, and burritos or tacos. We then have donuts, cake, chips, and cheese and cookies.
Make National Eat What You Want Day fun
There are a number of different ways you can make this day fun! Why not switch the typical meals around? You can have dinner for breakfast, and breakfast for dinner! After all, who doesn’t love tucking into Chinese leftovers the morning after? Or, if you want to have breakfast for dinner, why not put together a fluffy stack of pancakes with some maple syrup and bacon for dinner? After all, no rules apply on National Eat What You Want Day, so you may as well switch things up a little bit!
If you have got children, why not allow them to be in charge for once? Most of the time, parents are in charge of what’s for dinner. If we weren’t, children would probably never see a vegetable in their life! But, for this one day, why don’t you let your children decide what’s on the menu? You may end up with a random concoction of delicious treats, but it will certainly be a lot of fun, and it will get them interested in cooking as well, which is always a good thing.
Another way to make National Eat What You Want Day fun is to break your typical routine. For example, if you usually take a packed lunch to work, why not gather your colleagues and enjoy lunch together at a local restaurant? Of course, your children won’t be able to ditch their school lunches and dine out, but you can still make their packed lunches exciting. Look for fun ways to make their lunches, for example, you can cut their food up into different shapes and add some edible glitter to the mix to keep things exciting.

Confessions ★ Max Verstappen
Tumblr media
summary ~ max, who has always been scared to express his feelings, has a confession to make.
pairing ~ {max verstappen x female!reader}
content warnings ~ literally just fluff
a/n ~ I thought that i’ll try writing another fanfic without oscar, so my second husband max makes his debut
word count ~ 1.2k
Tumblr media
There were a lot of moments where Max Verstappen thought he could be in love with his girlfriend, and one moment he knew.
After working through a triple header between Austin, Mexico and Brazil, Max wanted nothing more than to be at home cuddled up with his girlfriend and two cats. Him and y/n had been together for a short amount of time, only about two months, but the connection they shared was like no other. He felt like she could read his feelings and emotions from across a room blindfolded, and it was one of the many things he admired about her. That is exactly how she knew that after coming back to Monaco from Brazil, Max just needed to unwind a relax a little.
Getting to work with her planning, she spent the day, while he was distracted by the sim race, going from store to store. She purchased ingredients for dinner, snacks, drinks, desserts, candles, and even rented an old movie from Max’s childhood to watch on the big TV. Once she felt as if her task was completed, she made her way back to her small apartment. Her plan was to set up, and lure Max over by telling him that her car wouldn’t start.
After about an hour or two, her apartment was set up for date night, and dinner was cooked and ready to be served. She prepared herself in the mirror for her best acting skills, and called Max. Thankfully, he picked up after only two rings.
“Hey schat, what’s up?” Max said into the phone. She could still hear the clicking in the background of his sim setup, and felt only a little bad to be distracting him.
“Maxie, I don’t know what’s wrong with my car, but it just won’t start. I keep turning and turning the key, and it won’t give. Can you come over and help me, please?” Dragging out the ‘please’, hoping that it would make Max come over faster; since she didn’t want dinner to get cold.
“Yeah, I’ll be over as soon as I can,” She can hear the sound of him turning his monitors off, “Just please don’t try to start the car with the garage door closed again.” He says laughing at a previous time she had almost fumigated her apartment building.
“Haha, very funny,” She said sarcastically, “Now please hurry! I have to go to the store very soon.”
After only about 10 minutes, she could hear the familiar sound of Max’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS pull up on the side of the street outside the building. Making her way outside, she tries to keep the smile off of her face, although it’s a difficult task. He obviously asks to see the car, but she tricks him by saying she brought the keys back to her apartment while she was waiting. And so the two of them make their way up the stairs, hands intertwined.
The second she opens the door, Max knew she had tricked him. A strong scent of her mother’s enchiladas verdes de pollo recipe filled the small apartments air, and a smile rose to his face. As he took a step inside, he noticed the dining table set up with the food and candles. He turned to look at her, only to see eyes staring back at him with an excited smile covering her face.
“Okay! I know I lied, but you seemed so tense after the triple header, so I thought a little date night might help?” As she spoke, she sounded a little more unsure about her plan. Nervous, almost. The two of them hadn’t had a proper date in weeks.
“Oh schatje, it’s perfect. Thank you so much.” He pulled her into a soft kiss, and placed a hand on her back to lead her towards the dining table.
As the both of them ate, the conversation flowed smoothly, talking about work, the race, their families. She hadn’t been able to attend any of the three races due to conflicts with her work schedule, so the catching up was much needed. By the time they had both finished their dinner, the loud beep of the oven indicated that dessert was finished. Digging into the small cupcakes she had made, Max pulled her into a hug in the middle of the kitchen. They danced in silence for a few moments before she pulled away from him, leaving one last peck on his lips and grabbing his hand to drag him to her bedroom.
Inside of her bedroom was the real surprise. The bed was covered in soft, comfortable blankets and fluffy pillows. On the bedside tables were his favorite snacks and drinks, obviously chilled to the perfect temperature. The TV had already been set up and paused in the opening credits of Max’s favorite movie. She dimmed the lights slightly, and ran to burry herself in the covers. Seeing his girlfriend looking so cute piled under a dozen blankets was an enticing sight, so he joined her within a millisecond.
The movie had barely even started before Max got distracted by her perfect, plump lips, focusing on planting his on them instead. Although she had hoped to be able to watch the movie, she wasn’t about to complain about Max’s attention completely on her. He broke away from the kiss to look at her in the eye.
“Thank you so much for this, mijn liefje. I don’t know how you always know exactly what I need, but this is perfect.” He gazed into her eyes for a moment longer before pulling her into another soft kiss.
“All I want is for you to be happy and relaxed, Maxie. You being either of those things means the world to me.” She responded without missing a beat, the compassionate words melting his heart. Without thinking, he spoke four words he never thought he would say so soon.
“Ik houd van jou.”
“Max, you know I don’t speak Dutch.” She said with a giggle. It took him a moment to even realize what he had said, and another few seconds to gain the confidence to say it again, this time in English.
“I… I love you.”
Now it was her turn to freeze. She knew that she loved Max, she had since the moment he first kissed her, but she never expected him to say it first. Her brief moment of shock was sending a cold sweat up his spine. Before he had the chance to try and take it back, she responded.
“I love you too, Max. So, so, so much. I hope you’ll always remember that.” And with that, she pulled him in for a long, passionate kiss, the movie now long forgotten.
At this moment, he knew he loved her, and that he always would, for the rest of his days.

[Fluff + Slight Angst] [Gojo Satoru x Reader] Kikufuku
GUESS WHO'S BACK FROM ROTTING DURING EXAMSSSSSS TAKE THIS DRAFT I FINISHED WHILE I WORK ON MY REQUESTS HEHEHEHEHEHE I WILL BE POSTING ALL MY STUFF SLOWLY MEHEEHEHHE
Tumblr media
CONTENT
Going to get food everyday with Gojo bc he loves trying new places and he used to do it sm with geto and shoko ): Mostly fluff, some angst, gender neutral reader, implied crush, lots of mentions of food, ALL CHARACTERS ARE 18+
AUTHOUR NOTES
Note that I can’t remember where I got this idea from (it's been sitting in a document for months and I only just got around to it) but I might've read it from somewhere (maybe a tiktok?) so I’m sorry if I've stolen someone's idea, please lmk so I can give credit if this is the case!
Word Count: 477
Satoru is your typical happy go lucky guy on the outside. He’s always walking around as if there’s not a single thought running through his mind. He’ll buy his favorite mochi while all the passersby swoon at his handsome self. You met the man not more than a few months ago when you joined Jujutsu High as a fellow staff member and you’ve gotten quite close. He’d always ask you if you wanted to get food after work and most of the time you'd say yes. But, for the first few weeks, sometimes you’d be busy or not feeling up to going out to dinner with your co-worker you just met. That quickly changed though.
Satoru gets quite lonely when you aren’t there with him and you've noticed after getting to know him. He's not anything he shows on the outside. He’s alone. He’s suffering. But he’s still so sweet. A month or 2 after meeting him, you’ve made it a mission to always get food with him even if you’re busy. If it’s not in person, you’re at the very least video or audio calling him so he can show you the food and talk to you while you both eat. Gojo loves trying new places because it feels refreshing. It makes him feel young again and you support it because you know his youth was robbed from him. You know that he used to get food everyday with Suguru and Shoko because he told you about it. You know he misses them by the way he talks about it and he knows you know. But, ignorance is bliss right? You're both just trying to live ignorantly happily while simultaneously healing from your respective pasts. What else could you really do?
Yesterday was takoyaki and Thai milk tea for dessert. Today was coconut curry and ice cream filled taiyaki. Tomorrow, Satoru is thinking Beijing style duck or maybe K-BBQ? Carbonara? Peri Peri Chicken? Enchiladas? Shawarma??? You always laugh when he goes on a tangent of what he wants to eat and try with you. You tease him by adding more options to the list and he clenches his fists dramatically and squeezes his eyes shut under his blindfold while whining that he can’t pick and that there’s too much good food. You occasionally have to reassure him that you have time and that you’re not going anywhere. You never fail to notice the blush on his ears when you soothe him like that and he never fails to see your fidgety hands as you say the gentle words to him. He feels so lucky to have your company and you can confidently say the same, in your thoughts of course. You wouldn’t tell him that out loud and he also finds himself too scared to try. At least, not yet. Maybe one day, over some kikufuku.

Jack Harlow x Reader : YOU HAD ONE JOB!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You were out all day running errands with your best friends, so when you got home all you wanted to do was shower and get dinner ready.
But all that went out the window when you noticed the trash bin was still very much full.
“This man.” You groan, while tying the bag and taking it outside to the bin. You make your way back to the kitchen, wash your hands and start pulling the ingredients out of the pantry that you’ll need to make Birria tacos.
When you reach the refrigerator you notice the container filled with the churro cheesecake squares were still there. That’s when you got annoyed.
You made your way into the game room where you knew your husband and kids were.
“Oh hey baby, when did you get here?” Jack asks from his spot.
“Did you miss the to do list I left you? Things that needed to be done?” You ask him, ignoring his question.
He looks confused. “Uh what list?”
“Jack, I left you the list on the counter, the breakfast is gone so it’s obvious you saw it.”
“Ohhh, there was a paper on the counter but I accidentally spilled orange juice on it so it got wet and I missed what it said.”
“Okay, now explain why the desserts that I told you to drop off at your moms are still here?”
“Was that on the list?”
“No, I told you last night and before I left. Maggie has been waiting for them all day, she has an early meeting tomorrow and she was counting on those.”
“I’m sorry, it just flew over my head.”
“Oh so we’re Mr. forgetful today huh?”
“Baby relax, I’ll drop them off to her after dinner.”
“Dinner? What dinner? I’m not cooking. You forget to do two little things, so I’m just going to forget about feeding you all.”
“WAIT”
“MOM PUNISH HIM, NOT US.”
You turn your head and glare at your kids, “You’re guilty by association, and you have his last name, so deal with it.”
Jack and the kids look at each other. “Baby, you ok?”
“NO I’M NOT OKAY, MY FEET ARE SWOLLEN, YOUR BIG HEADED KIDS ARE PUSHING AT MY BLATTER. YOU CAN’T TAKE OUT THE TRASH AND NOW YOUR MOM WILL HATE ME BECAUSE SHE DOESN’T HAVE THE CAKES.” You yell out in frustration.
Jack gets up from his seat and heads towards you. “Y/N, sweets, take a deep breath, it’s okay.”
“Don’t tell me to relax, Jackman, you had one job.” You look at your kids. “Have him make dinner, I’m taking a shower and going to bed.” You say and walk out the room.
“She’s really mad if she’s suggesting that you cook.” Ezequiel says.
Jack glares at his son. “Funny.”
Mia chuckles, “Dad, I love you, but you can’t cook to save your life.”
“I know how to cook, what are you talking about?”
“Okay, remember when you helped Mia bake the tres leches cake? You didn’t know how to follow simple instructions from moms cook cookbook.”
“Or when you burned down the oven when you left the enchiladas overnight.”
“Mia, he can’t remember, he’s forgetful today.” Ezequiel jokes.
Jack tosses a couch pillow at him which makes Ezequiel laugh even more.
“I’ll be back.” Jack says and makes his way to your shared bedroom.
He doesn’t find you in the room so it’s most likely you are already showering.
He walks into the bathroom and sees that you’re in the shower. He can’t help but admire your figure and how beautiful you look with your growing bump.
“Do you need anything, Jackman?”
“How'd you know I was here?”
“I have Harlow senses and they were tingling, so I know whenever you or my kids are near.”
Jack laughs, “Calm down Spider-Man.”
You turn around to glare at him. “I’m still mad at you.”
“Babe, the trash wasn’t going anywhere and mom lives ten minutes away. It was bound to get done either way.”
“So you should’ve done it when I asked you too, and not act clueless when I asked about the list because I know you saw it.”
You finished showering in record time, being exhausted from walking and baby shopping all day, and coming home annoyed, made you take one of the quickest showers of your life.
“Agree to disagree.” Jack says, and holds open a towel for you.
“I’m still not cooking, so you and the kids can fend for yourselves.” You wrap the towel around you and head to your side of the bathroom and start rubbing lotion on you.
“Ok, fine. I’ll go see what we can make.” He goes up to you and kisses the top of your head, rubs at your bump. “Let me love up on my babies.”
You glare at him, “Being cute isn’t going to change my mind. I’m starting to think you only keep me around because I cook.”
“Y/N HARLOW!!! QUIT PLAYING.”
You look up at him, you feel a sack of emotions hitting you at an all time high right now. “Don’t yell at me.”
That has Jack realizing what’s really going on, so he smiles sadly at you. “I’m sorry baby, let me go cook something with the kids. I’ll be back for cuddles.”
You nod and sniffle “Don’t burn down my kitchen please.”
Jack groans, “One time baby, it was one time.” He gives you a kiss and leaves you to finish up getting ready for bed.
He’s walking back downstairs and into the living room and sees Ezequiel and Mia both looking down to their phone screen.
“What about Panda Express?”
“No, I want sushi.”
“Dad is not going to let us DoorDash and pay over a hundred dollars just for a thirty dollar meal.” Mia tells her brother.
“You got that right,” Jack tells them. “We’re making a Jack in the box run.” He grabs his keys from the side table on the couch. “Hurry, I want to get back to my wife before she sleeps.”
“You mean our mom?”
“No, I said my wife didn’t I? So that’s what I meant.”
“Yeah well YOUR wife is mad at YOU, not us, so that makes her more our mom.”
Mia rolls her eyes, “Why are you two always fighting over mom? You have serious issues, now let’s go.”
**************
“So is mom finally coming to her senses and leaving you?” Ezequiel asks, taking a sip from his milkshake.
“Oh my god Cheesy, you really need to stop.” Mia is shaking her head.
“Ezequiel, I have no problem making you get out of the car and have you walk home.”
“Do it, mom will be even more mad at you.”
“You love pushing my buttons.”
“I love how easy it is to push your buttons old man. But seriously why did mom react that way? She usually doesn’t mind when you forget to take out the trash.”
“She’s pregnant, her emotions will be all over the place. You seriously need to start paying attention when dad and mom are explaining things to us.” Mia tells him.
“Whatever.” Ezequiel looks at the cup holder and notices Jack hasn’t touched his milkshake. “Can I have your drink? You haven’t touched it.”
Jack pushes EZ’s face back “It’s for your mom.”
“She’s mad, you think you’ll make her happy with a milkshake?”
He shakes his head “Not fully no, but a milkshake and curly fries is what she’s been craving this late at night recently.”
They’re finally pulling up to their driveway. Ezequiel grabs the milkshake, and a bag that has the curly fries, and runs inside.”
“ANGEL EZEQUIEL HARLOW.” Jack yells and runs after him upstairs.
“YOU TWO ARE SO CHILDISH.” Mia yells.
“What’s with the yelling?” You ask, sitting up in bed once you see your son walking in, your husband right behind him, followed by your daughter.
“I got you curly fries and a Oreo milkshake momma.” Ez says, handing you the food and drink.
You raise your eyebrows at him. “With what money?”
“I have money.”
“No, dad and mom have money, you’re just broke.” Mia says, sitting next to you and placing her palm on your belly. “Little ones, hi.”
“Thank you bubs.” You look at Jack, pat the spot on the other side of you, signaling him so he can sit with you.
“So what am I? chopped liver?” Ez asks, glaring at the three of you.
“Sit next to your dad.” You tell him, you take a sip of your milkshake and groan. “I’ve been craving this all day. Ree and Blanca wanted Pupusas, and a agua fresca. I didn’t have it in my heart to tell them to get me a milkshake since they were driving me around all day.”
“Mom, they would’ve dropped everything and taken you to get it.” Mia tells you, taking a bite from her burger.
“How are you feeling?” Jack asks you.
“I’m okay now. I think I just needed to shower the day away. I’m sorry I snapped at you over the stupidest thing ever. I asked Clay to pick up the desserts, they have been delivered to your mom.”
“It’s okay sweets, I know this pregnancy is different for you and your body. I just want you to be okay.”
You nod, “Still, I shouldn’t have snapped at you like that.”
The four of you continue eating and talking about the day. You decide on a movie to watch as a family, having your husband and kids next to you in bed, watching tv and sharing memories has always been one of your favorite things to do.
“So mom, please next time you want to punish dad and not cook, can it only be him? We’re not at fault when he gets you annoyed.” Ezequiel says after a while.
“Oh my god.” Mia says.
“Ezequiel.” Jack warns.
“What? I was craving Birria all day and dad had to ruin it by not doing what you told him to. I had to get tacos from Jack in The Box, I wanted birria tacos.”
“I make no promises.” You answer him.
You go back to watching the movie, but after five minutes Ezequiel again decides to interrupt.
“So can you make the birria tomorrow then? Since you’re in a better mood now?”
“Eres un tonto.” Mia says, and pushes him off the bed.
“STOP ATTACKING ME.”
“Stop instigating between mom and dad.”
You and Jack smile at each other, ignoring the fact that your two teenage kids are arguing. This is what life is all about, all the silly fights, the laughs, and the cries.
All worth it if it means by the end of the day, you get to spend it with your family.

celebrating his child’s quinceañera hcs ; wally
Tumblr media
requested by ; arcade anon (21/05/23)
fandom(s) ; welcome home
fandom masterlist(s) ; here
character(s) ; wally darling
outline ; “Can I request a headcanon set where the reader is Wally's kid, and it's the reader's quinceanera? Nice and fluffy, with a slightly fem reader! (Reader is gender neutral/uses They/Them, but has a big ol poofy dress and has a tiara and is all fancy in the femme way) If you need more info, please let me know! :D Also, can I be 👾 Arcade Anon?”
warning(s) ; none, just fluff!
wally had been planning your quinceañera since basically a few weeks after your 14th — making sure that everything was prepared and set in stone well in advance so nothing could go wrong
he wrote out a list of ingredients and food items for howdy to order for the day and enlisted poppy’s help to cook all of your favourite foods and desserts
as well as a few more traditional dishes like enchiladas or pan de polvo and a gigantic five tiered cake
he tasked julie with being the one to help you find or make your perfect quince dress — having you describe your dream outfit so she can look around to see what’s available or make it herself
sally was the one to research the quinceañera waltz so he could start practising it well in advance (with her teaching you both separately so you were both up to scratch)
frank insisted on growing all 15 of the roses for your bouquet himself and, with eddie’s help, they came out beautifully
barnaby was the one to take you out and grill you about what gifts you wanted, making a joke of the whole thing so you didn’t get suspicious
and eddie went around and prepped all of the invites to hand out to extended family and friends so that everyone could make it to your party
it was a whole lot of effort to pull off, but more than worth it for your big day and all of the neighbourhood was happy to come together to celebrate you
of course your father, wally, was there along with your other neighbours (including howdy, who had taken the day off)
but their families and your friends were also in attendance — showing up to support you on your big day as if you were one of their own
and what a wonderful day it was
you were wearing the beautifully extravagant dress that julie and her family had made for you
with a tiara that you know must have been difficult to find since you lived in such a remote town
eating the food that howdy and poppy had prepared for you (and that tasted fantastic)
carrying the roses that frank had carefully grown for you
surrounded by the decorations handmade by eddie and painted by your father
doing the traditional waltz that sally had taught you with your father as he told you how proud he was of you
and surrounded by piles of gifts from your loved ones that barnaby had organised himself
money and flowers and jewellery and soft toys and books and so on
everything you could ever want and more
and it was a beautiful sunny day: warm but not enough that you were overheating
honestly you could have cried — knowing all of the effort that went into celebrating you for your quinceañera
knowing how much you were loved by your community and your family and your friends
it made you feel at home
(and thankful for all of the food laid out for you because all of this dancing and socialising was making you hungry…)

they dont match butttttt, I. DO. NOT. CARE. PERIODT.
pairing- bf choi yeonjun x mexican female reader
warnings- hugs, kisses, food, not proofread, uhhhhh idk what else lol
yes, i did it. coming from a mexican female, i think i have a say in this. where all my mexicanas at? i love yall🫶🏻
christmas with your parents was an exciting topic for yeonjun. he always wanted to meet your parents and was extremely excited to meet them on christmas.
you arrive at you parents house and yeonjun was flowing with excitement and joy. he was excited to stay the night and he wanted to see how you lived growing up. you werent nervous about him meeting your parents at all because you knew theyd get along. you were a bit worried about the food.
what if he didnt like it? would it make your parents feel guilty? no, hes going to love it.
"mija! your here! oh i missed you!" your mom greeted you at the door as soon as she saw you. you hugged your dad next.
"mija! how are you?" "im ok, papi" yea, you called him papi, and? he your father, you love him.
"mijo! its so nice to finally meet you! how are you?" "yes it is! im alright, mrs.-" "oh, dont start that nonsense, call me mama." you heart melted at the sight of your mom and your boyfriend getting along so well.
"mijo, how are you?" "im good, mr.-" "call me suegro" (it means father in law in spanish). "alright" your dad shook yeonjuns hand and smiled very fondly at him.
"so! shall we have some dinner!" "lets eat!"
the table was decorated with pozole, tamales, pico de gallo, enchiladas and mole. yeonjun was left amazed at all the dishes on the table.
you two ere standing as your mom brought out the bowls, spices, and anything you could imagine.
"sit down mijo, get whatever you'd like, i made pozole and tamales. if you dont like that theres pico de gallo, enchiladas, mole, and theres desserts."
"thank you" he served himself some pozole and you grabbed the bowl of tortilla chips to eat with the pozole. (thats how i eat it lmao, if you eat it differently, adjust it as you wish)
"uh, y/n how do i eat it?" he nervously giggled and stared at his bowl in confusion.
"you can use your spoon to drink the soup, you can roll up the tortilla to dip it in the soup and use the spoon to eat the chicken and the corn. and you can also put lime, lettuce, raddish, and chile in it."
"ok, thank you" he did as you told him to and his face lit up with delight when he took the first spoonful. "wow, this so good!'
"im glad you liked it, mijo!''
he served himself one enchilada, a small spoonful of mole, and some pico de gallo, you cant forget the tamal he put on his plate.
he ate some of everything and he loved every bite of it. you mom served him a glass of horchata and he had two cups of it!
"i'll clean up you guys go and wait in the living room, and when im done we can eat dessert!" your mom obviously could not wait until a certain dessert that ill leave to your imagination for now.
"i'll help you pick up!" yeonjun immediately refused to sit down and went to go help you mom.
in the living room, you and your dad were chatting. "so, yeonjun, really liked the food, huh, mija?" "yea, he loved it. i think he liked moms pozole best though. the chiltipin helped a lot too." "well, your mom made a lot for your could take leftovers home." "i'd love that. also, mami never made this much food for christmas when i was a little girl. we only had pozole and we bought the horchata, did she make it?' ' she did, and she was going to make birria but it takes too long." "aww, i love her birria" "come get desserts guys!!" your mom poked out of the kitchen and called you in.
when you walked in, the table had a big rosca de reyes in the middle and buñuelos and conchas, and mugs of champurrado. oh, how you missed the nostalgic smell.
"ok, who wants the first piece of it?" "be careful, if you get the baby, you need to make the tamales for everybody" "oh, uh. should i get the first piece?" "if you want" "papi, did you get the baby?" " no thankfully" "mami, give me this piece" "no baby!!!" "yeonjun, here you go!" she gave him a random slice and she bought the rosca de reyes so, she couldnt cheat. "did you get it baby?" "uh, yea." your family burst into laughter at the fact that yeonjun, who had tasted tamales for the first time today, was stuck making them!" "ay, mijo! i'll give you guys the recipe dont worry."
all the dessert was delicious and so was the champurrado. you and yeonjun cleaned up as your parents set up the living room for gifts and maybe some mistletoe. but shhhh. they may be mexican but, they still follow the trends duh.
"so, we gotta make tamales for the boys huh"
"i guess, but i dont know how to make them. and your lucky, mami never made this much food on christmas."
"im her favorite i guess" "when i was a kid, i always dreamed of getting the baby. when i turned fifteen, me and my sister got it and we were stuck with making tamales. never wanted the baby ever again."
yeonjun laughed as you walked into the living room with your mom and dad waiting. a big present marked yeonjun and y/n was waiting in your seat.
"open this one first!" you opened it and a big ol pot was wrapped up. your mom and dad were laughing and you and yeonjun were smiling. you mostly wanted to cry, you cant make tamales like girl.
everyone opened up their gifts and they gave you guys some to give to the boys back home. "alright, its really late lets go to sleep." you and yeonjun got ready for bed and went into your parents guest room. it was filled with pictures of your childhood an teen years and stuff you wouldnt really display yourself.
"good night mijo! buenas noches mija! te amo! (i love you)" your mom told you both as you were walking into your room. "buenas noches mami. te amo!" "good night mama!" you wouldve definitely melted into putty right there and then if you could.
you plopped into the bed and waited for yeonjun to finish changing. "your moms so sweet. y/n!" "i know, she was texting me nonstop in the morning asking what time we were heading over." "aww," he laid down and kissed you softly. "goodnight baby" "goodnight my love"
in the morning you were woken up with a torta that smelled like heaven. you needed to leave soon so you ate then went to your room to clean up your things. "we only ate beans and tortilas for breakfast when i was a kid. you must really be the favorite." "she loves me''
"alright, mami. the cars loaded, we're gunna get going."
"oh, wait!" she brought out three(BIG) full bags of containers of food.
"wow, this is alot. " "good, now no one will have to cook for at least a day." "with five men in the house, itll be gone in an hour"
"bye mijo, it was nice having you over and meeting you." "thank you suegro. it was nice meeting you too" yep, melted again.
"mija, bye, i love you." "bye papi, i love you too"
"mija, bye, i'll miss you. thank you for coming over. i love you" "i'll miss you too, thanks for having us. i love you too mami"
"ay mijo. i dont want you to leave." "i dont want to leave either"
"bye mijo, thank you so much for coming. i'll miss you." ''bye, mama. thank you for having us. i'll miss you too."
you two walked out the front door and got into the car.
"love you guys! say hi to the boys for me!" "we will mami! love you too!"
"bye mama! love you!!!"
and with that, you were driving back to your house. yeonjun intertwined your hands and kissed it. man he was hot driving with one hand.
the end
um so why am i posting a christmas fic in august, bc i thought abt it while eating mole sooooooooo. yall, before you come at me for having the rosca de reyes in december, i know its eaten in january but, yall arent gunna visit them until then soooo. uh LATINAS FOR YEONJUN

National Chocolate Covered Anything Day
Indulge in a chocolate fountain or fondue to dunk any treats you fancy or drizzle your favorite desserts in delicious sauce and syrup.
Chocolate, a candy loved by both children and adults alike. But how much can it go on? What edible creations can molten chocolate create? Where in the world are certain chocolate dishes made a favorite staple? Well, in order to find the answers to all those questions, we must do a time-hop into the past, for this is the search of the history of Chocolate Covered Everything Day!
Learn about Chocolate Covered In Anything Day
Who doesn’t love chocolate? It’s creamy, sweet, and delicious! While we can all eat chocolate on its own, it is fun to combine chocolate with other ingredients as well! A lot of people love strawberries dipped into chocolate; a real classic. Or, how about some chocolate pretzels? There are plenty of weird and wonderful ideas you can try as well, such as dipping French fries into chocolate ice cream. Hey, don’t knock it until you have tried it! If you have ever wondered what something would taste like in chocolate, today is the perfect opportunity for you to find out.
History of Chocolate Covered Everything Day
We all know and love the dark and sweet bricks called chocolate, we even melt it down and put on our ice cream! When was this delectable treat created? The history of chocolate begins in Mesoamerica. Fermented beverages made from chocolate date back to 1900 BC. The Aztecs believed that cacao seeds were the gift of Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom, and the seeds once had so much value that they were used as a form of currency. After chocolate’s arrival in Europe from oversea expeditions in the sixteenth century, sugar was added to it and it became popular throughout all of Europe, first among the ruling classes of the European societies, and then among the common people. Jose de Acosta, a Spanish missionary who lived in Peru and then Mexico in the later 16th century, described its use more generally.
Loathsome to such as are not acquainted with it, having a scum or froth that is very unpleasant taste. Yet it is a drink very much esteemed among the Indians, wherewith they feast noble men who pass through their country. The Spaniards, both men and women that are accustomed to the country are very greedy of this Chocolate. They say they make diverse sorts of it, some hot, some cold, and some temperate, and put therein much of that “chili”; yea, they make paste thereof, the which they say is good for the stomach and against the catarrh.
How to celebrate Chocolate Covered Everything Day
To celebrate the day where we coat everything we can in chocolate, we go out and find an affordable mini chocolate fountain, and then we buy whatever we like to go with our chocolate, take it home and set it up, and then enjoy the chocolate covered foods in the comfort of our own home, enjoying it any time we want! We can also celebrate by buying chocolate syrup, heating it up in a bowl and have a bowl of ice cream with a hot chocolate syrup topping.
There are lots of great chocolate desserts you can make on this day as well! We all deserve a treat now and again, and what better sweet treat than a chocolate-based dessert? From sticky toffee pudding to dark chocolate fondant, we take a look at the best desserts for chocolate lovers.
Let’s start with a Chocolate Sticky Toffee Pudding. This is a delicious traditional English dessert with a chocolate twist. When done correctly, sticky toffee features a rich moist sponge that is topped in a thick and indulgent toffee sauce. It is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The coolness of the ice cream against the warmth of the toffee is an exquisite combination.
How about some Chocolate Bread and Butter Pudding? We recommend pairing the bread and butter pudding with a tasty rum banana ice cream. It’s comforting, creamy, and delicious.
You will struggle to find a dessert as decadent and indulgent as Dark Chocolate Fondant. You need just the right amount of gooeyness in the middle. The dessert is usually finished offer with a smooth and refreshing vanilla ice cream and a thick salted caramel sauce. Prepare for your taste buds to be sent into overdrive.
Finally, do you feel like being adventurous? How about some Chilli Spiced Chocolate Cake? Chilli and chocolate are two ingredients you wouldn’t expect to work well together but they make a delicious pairing. It’s not simply a case of making chocolate spicy. Both ingredients have real, varied fruit flavours and so it’s all about pairing them in a complementary manner, which is what you can do with a Chilli Spiced Chocolate Cake. Take this luxurious dessert and give it a contemporary edge by adding chilli, which gives a pleasant kick that will warm the back of your throat.
All in all, if you are a lover of chocolate sweets, you can rest assured that you will be more than happy with one of the four delicious desserts that have been mentioned! There are plenty of other recipes that you can try on National Chocolate Covered Anything Day!
Aside from making your own desserts, National Chocolate Covered Anything Day presents you with a good opportunity to support a local chocolatier. With the increase in the production of commercial chocolate, a lot of people overlook just how delicate and difficult the art of making chocolate can be! So, why not support your local chocolatier and let them know that you are amazed by their incredible work?

Ghoul favorite food HC 👀
thank you anon for the ask!! (THIS TOOK FOREVER PARTS OF THE DRAFT KEPT GETTING DELETED AND I ALMOST THREW MY PHONE AT THE WALL!!!)
Tumblr media
———————————————————————
The Nameless Ghouls and their favourite foods!!
Tumblr media
Aether
• BANANAS!!!!
•He definitely has a sweet tooth, more leaning towards natural sugars than artificial sugars but either he loves.
•Aether is most likely to be caught in the ghoul’s kitchen shoveling grated cheese into his mouth at an unholy (heh) hour at the night.
•Even though he loooooves bananas, he despises banana flavored candy.
Mountain
•He will absolutely fuck up a caeser salad. If you were to give him a salad on a paper plate he would get too excited and eat the plate too. :’)
•Like other Earth Ghouls he is a vegetarian of course.
Rain
•Just like Copia he absolutely loves pasta, from ravioli to rigatoni to fettuccine he will absolutely fuck up whatever pasta you put in front of him. He will inhale any noodles within the ministry grounds, whether they’re cooked or not.
•You know how wolves get territorial over well, territory? Rain gets territorial over pasta. He once pushed Sodo down a flight of stairs when he found out he ate his almost week old spaghetti.
•Rain is quite the talented chef, hanging around Terzo when he was cooking he managed to get some lessons from the former Papa. Days when he misses Terzo the most he’ll cook some of the meals he was first taught how to make, just to reminisce on the memories and feel closer to him.
Sodo
•He loves spicy and sour food, or anything with some kick for that matter, but he has some of the most sensitive tastebuds out of the ghouls, hell, even out of everyone in the ministry.
•Whenever he does eat spicy food, he always has a glass of milk nearby, despite Cirrus telling him that its better for him to drink water.
•Sometimes he uses sour candy to ground himself whenever he’s especially stressed, whether it be one of the ghouls that’s getting on his nerves, or touring he always keeps a bag of sour patch kids with him, or for more stressful times of the year he’ll keep some warheads in his pockets.
•In terms of cooking? He cannot cook. Sodo has almost burnt down the ministry a couple times trying to cook. Did he once he make cupcakes that were so burnt that they made Rain throw up? We’ll never know. 🤫
Swiss
•Swiss isn’t exactly picky when it comes to food, he’ll most likely eat anything you put in front of him.
•Although he’s fine with all food, he has a special place in his heart for international food, it could be sushi, ramen, mole, enchiladas, paella, or pad thai, but when he’s done eating it he might take a couple bites of the plate too.
•He can cook very well, being able to make some of the meals listed above. Learning some of his best recipes from Rain he always tries to linger around the kitchen when the water ghoul is cooking, just to get more ideas and what not.
Cumulus
•Like Aether she has one of the biggest sweet tooth of the group, having a particular love for chocolate. She looooooves chocolate waffles not really caring whether they’re pre made or not.
•She is incredible at making desserts, especially cookies. It’s like taking a bite of heaven (ironically). As much as she doesn’t make them, Sodo and Aether are big fans of her mexican wedding cookies.
•Just like Special Ghoul brings toys, she makes pastries and goodies for the orphans in the ministry, bringing them year round. She’ll sometimes bring Copia to tell the kids some of his lighthearted stories from his time in the orphanage.
Cirrus
•She’s a big lover of seafood, her two favourite dishes being salmon patties and tuna melts.
•Although she is an air ghoul she does love restaurants or anything for that matter by the sea. Cirrus thinks it’s very relaxing to just enjoy the ocean because how it’s an entirely different world just a few miles out.
•This ghoulette is mainly in charge of keeping Sodo out of the kitchen to prevent any disasters that may or may not burn down the ministry.

Hope you enjoyed anon and whoever else is reading this! Happy late new years! <3 (once again sorry for how long this took)

dorian can barely eat much. i've detailed his favorite dessert before, but he is a canned fruit enjoyer. loves strawberries. he doesn't really like salad. ew.
silas also doesn't really eat. he likes a lot of desserts. crème brule or whatever the fuck. don't give him a vegetable. he will kill you.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but...
Your first steak should be palm-sized - about as thick as your palm's pad, as well. Some people swear by cooking with a pan greased in butter, but I personally like to reserve this for my T-bones. Smaller steaks get a dab of olive oil swirled around so the pan is properly coated, on low heat to avoid burning it - and I raise the heat only once I'm ready to put the steak in. For added flavor, toss in some diced shallots and baby tomatoes.
Once you're ready to sear your steak, stay close by. You're going for a thin cut if you've follow this, so you could easily overdo it. Use a decent steak knife to make small scores on occasion, to check for the inner flesh's consistency. When the color matches your preferred grade, take it off the stove. If you're forced to work on your steak first and have other elements to work on, set your oven on Warm and put your pan in there, keeping it covered by a big-enough saucepan lid. Don't do this if your pan's handle is rubberized, obviously, and don't forget to cover your hands. Especially don't do this if your pan is bare metal all over.
For uncomplicated side-dishes that won't break the bank, never underestimate potatoes and cheese. If I'm cooking for myself, I peel three small potatoes, wash then pat them dry, then I cut them roughly and run them through my mixer for two or three quick pulses. I'm trying to keep big chunks for now, obviously. Then, in a bowl, I add one egg and about one-sixth of a cup of grated Parmesan cheese. Taking out my mixer, I incorporate the potatoes and add about two tablespoons of milk. A few generous pads of unsalted butter get tossed in, and I adjust the milk levels as needed, depending on how consistent I want my potatoes to be. For a silkier finish, add more milk. For meme-worthy pillowy mounds, don't add too much. Keep some salt and some grated cheese on the dining room's table, for last-minute personal adjustments.
For greens, my starter side dish is usually Brussels sprouts, arranged in a way that kills the core's acidity, which is what most people hate about them. Coat another pan with oil, add in a few teaspoons' worth of coarse salt, and toss your sprouts in after cutting them in halves. Get the flat sides well and truly scored, while tossing them around so the round side gets some color, too. You'll end up with sprouts that almost have a nutty aftertaste, with the core's bitterness being a really subtle suggestion in the back. For an alternative, peel some asparagus and subject them to the same treatment.
For desert (or lunch), snag yourself some medjool dates, preferably unseeded ones, a bit of flour and a box of All-Bran. Make a mixture of about 2/3 All-Bran and one-third flour, add some water and knead, then add in some diced-up date bits. Divide the ball up for a greased muffin tray and set your muffins to rise and cook. You'll realize that cooked dates tend to caramelize, which is fucking divine in the context of a muffin. You can remove the flour if you're especially health-conscious; you'll simply end up with brittle muffins that won't really rise much at all.
Other easy ways to flip the bird to the takeout industry include pasta laden with a veggie-rich sauce, basic whitefish like sole, homemade chicken strips, five-minute enchiladas and most desserts, which really are always at their best when you cook them yourself.
There is one catch, however. You can cook like a god using stuff bought off of Dollar Tree, but you will eventually need a decent knife block. Do not skimp on this, as this needs to be a lifetime investment. Do not buy into influencers selling you "Authentically japanese" knives. Eventually, the same goes for your pots and pans. We're talking about things that touch and alter objects you'll put in your body, here - the expense is more than warranted.
Another tip: keep "almost prepared" bases for your starter dishes around, frozen up if need be. It'll help you resist the call of the DoorDash menu, with a little prior planning.
