Jenny of oldstones
I found an old piece for Jenny that I never posted! She is one of my absolute fav characters her story is so sad but it’s still beautiful. In my notes for it the flowers in her hair are representative of madness, undying love, love, grief, consuming love, and sorrow.

How would you make the prince of dragonflies a multi dymentional charcater? Rather than just ‘give up crown for love and then dies’.
I don't think its fair to say Duncan the Small is a flat character when he's long dead as of ASOIAF and as of TMK not even conceived yet.
What little we know (dubbing Barristan "the Bold", quipping that "crowns were being sold nine a penny") paints him as quite likeable however.
Thanks for the question, anon

This was supposed to be the last in my "dragons that never were" series, but I haven't gotten the refills for the markers that I need to do some of the other dragons, so I skipped to this one. This is the black and red egg that was gifted to Lord Butterwell and taken back by Bloodraven during the second Blackfyre rebellion. It is described as "red with golden flecks and black whorls". Below is another blurb about the egg, written in the style of Fire & Blood. And if some of the dragon names don't sound familiar...don't worry, they will by the end of this series. ;) I went with watercolors for this one and irl that pinkish color is red shimmer. x.x
"Following the second Blackfyre rebellion, the red egg was returned to the crown under mysterious circumstances. Some say the young prince Aegon managed to abscond with it right from under Butterwell's nose, and others say it was the young knight who claimed to be a son of Fireball trying to regain his family's lost honor. Still others whisper that it was somehow Brynden Rivers, although given that the egg disappeared before his arrival, that last is unlikely to be true. However it was returned, it was in house Targaryen's hatcheries when, several years later, it quickened and hatched a good-sized red wyrm with black wings and golden horns.
When the dragonpit was rebuilt by Aegon III, his lack of interest in dragons in general meant that the building of the pit was given over to people with far more knowledge about the needs of dragons. To wit, the design of original arena and lairs were kept and made structurally sound, but the dome was not rebuilt. Rather than serving as a cage for the dragons, it became a nest for them. The work princess Elaena had done with Sunspark as a hatchling showed that the dragons were far more trainable than originally suspected, even when they were not bonded. So all dragons, bonded or not, were taught to use the Kingswood and adjoining fields to hunt, rather than ranging north of the city where the flocks of sheep used in the service of the city were located. With this change in husbandry, the dragons thrived, and most grew quickly. More eggs hatched, whether in a Targaryen cradle or not. All of which is to say that by the time Prince Duncan the small claimed her, the fifteen year old red dragon was already large and thriving. He named her Dariys, a derivative of the Valyrian word for queen, for the crown-like spray of golden horns around her head. Some whispered that she might be Meleys herself come again.
If so, then her flying skills took a different form in her new life, as Dariys was a powerful - rather than quick - flyer. She flew further than all of the other dragons, able to make the flight from King's Landing to Pentos without the usual stop for rest on Dragonstone or Massey's hook. The prince boasted once that he was like to take her all the way to the wall, just to show that she could make the trip without stopping. This suited the prince's adventurous personality, and later in life he often said how his first love - his dragon - had carried him straight to is second: Jenny of Oldstones."
