Alaine Ní Daimhín
A thing about me is that if I'm left alone for 5 minutes I start making more OCs and this is a fate I must accept. So, without further ado, here's Alaine, my MC for The Good People/Na Daoine Maithe!
Now, I came up with Alaine's name pretty quick, but it took me an hour to choose her surname so I sure hope it makes sense for the game setting (mid 19th century Ireland, although you are snatched into the Fae world pretty much immediately, shenanigans ensue, demo free to play on itchio and steam if you want more info about it, or just check @moiraimyths)
I would like to note that this is Alaine at the start of the game, this is the reason why she's so skinny. They prefer bulky clothes to hide this, since they're really self conscious about being all 'skin and bones'. The fancy dress is the one Keagan gets her, and although she is impressed with how fancy and expensive it it, she does wish it covered more of her body.
Anyways, all this to say that 1) I imagine she will be getting other clothes when she can. I mean, if she stays in Murias (Autumn province) she will definitely getting clothes more appropiate for the weather so… And 2) they will put on weight as the game advances, they will still be thin, since that's their constitution, but not unhealthily skinny anymore.

On 2nd of February 1645 a Royalist army led by James Graham, 5th Earl and 1st Marquis of Montrose, routed the Earl of Argyll’s Covenanting forces in the Battle of Inverlochy.
Montrose and his army had wintered-down at Inveraray, which had been taken from the Campbells, scouts determined that the Covenant armies were closing in on them, so they pulled out, heading to Loch Ness-side, near Kilcumin. While facing new threats, namely the Earl of Seaforth and his 5,000 men based at Inverness, word of an army of around 3,000 Campbells and lowland troops at Inverlochy, close to where Fort William is today, Graham already knew that the Earl of Seaforth and his 5,000 men based at Inverness were a threat.
With Campbell troops coming at them from the south, and Seaforths from the north, Montrose and his men took to the hills; the Covenanters found only an empty glen when they met up with one another. Reasoning that they should attack the strongest enemy first, Montrose was led by Cameron scouts, by little known paths (the actual path taken is still debated) to Inverlochy. This route is said to have been one of the most arduous and daring feats of Scottish military history.
What is known is that from the Roy Bridge area they forded the river Spean near Corriechoille and traversed a secret way via the old townships of Kilchonate and Leanachan after two days and nights they were at the foot of Ben Nevis’ “shoulder” of Meall an t-Suidhe just before dark. They observed the tower of the ancient castle of Inverlochy and many Campbells moving around their camp. The Campbells saw them, and assumed that they were only raiders, or foraging parties. Montrose and his army rested for the night in freezing temperatures and at the break of dawn the Campbells, including their chief Argyll, were awakened by the pipes of Montrose’s assembled clans charging down upon them.
Even though Grahams army were outnumbered by approximately 1,000 troops and were facing some cannon fire, the army of Montrose broke the Lowland soldiers on the wings, forcing them to flee the field. The Campbells in the center of the line held firm, but soon were cut into groups and eventually fled. To state that little quarter was given is an understatement. One account, by poet Iain Lom, recorded the action from his first-hand vantage point at the field of battle.
A nice wee add on to this story is from Iain Lom MacDonald. Although it is widely believed that Robert Burns was Scotland’s first Poet Laureate, Charles II named Iain Lom MacDonald as Scotland’s Poet Laureate during his 17th century reign. However as the Stuart line was unseated in 1689, and the subsequent Jacobite Risings failed to permanently restore the Stuarts, their status became a moot point. His stature has further been diminished by the fact that he composed exclusively in Gaelic, which even at that time was a language in decline.
Famously stating, when offered a sword to battle, “You battle; I’ll tell”, Iain Lom MacDonald sought out a high vantage point above the battleground below to record a blow-by-blow account.
As is only right I shall post the Gaelic version first, below this is the translation……you can also listen to Gaelic supergroup Mànran sing it as it should be…….

OKAY SO in the Fandom Wikia, it says that Evan Rosier is either British or Irish so I am STEALING him for the Irish.
- from a historically aristocratic family who still have a lot of land, including a manor.
- can speak Irish, not well (since I headcanon that his mother died when he was young and he went to live with Aunt Druella), but he tries - it’s just difficult in a British school in the 70s when any other Irish students would be trying to hide their heritage but he doesn’t care because he’s Evan fucking Roiser
- knows so many rebel songs - will sing them if he’s been drinking. Ignores the fact that none of his ancestors were probably rebels.
- I’d love to pick a county for him, not Dublin though, somewhere like Kerry or Clare with a distinct accent but for him it isn’t obvious unless he’s around other Irish people.

SNGF: Which Ancestor Lived the Shortest Life
Tonight’s Saturday Night Genealogy Fun task set forth by Randy Seaver at Genea-Musings is as follows:
“Here is your assignment, should you decide to accept it (you ARE reading this, so I assume that you really want to play along - cue the Mission Impossible music!):
1) Which of your known ancestors lived the shortest life? Consider only the last eight generations and those ancestors with a known birth and death date. Do you know the cause of death? Was there an obituary? How many children did s/he have? How did you figure this out?

My maternal grandfather, John Henry Willis, Jr., had the shortest lifespan of my direct ancestors.
John Henry Willis, Jr. was born 6 May 1889 in Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama.[1] He married Arnita Harris (1889-1980) on 30 October 1907 in Mobile.[2] They had five children, three sons and twin daughters born between 1908 and 1912. During his lifetime, John Henry worked as a plasterer.[3]
John Henry Willis, Jr. died on 15 January 1917 at the age of 27 years, 8 months and 9 days. According to my grandmother her husband, John Henry, was on a job painting a bridge when he supposedly slipped and fell from the bridge.
The death certificate for John Willis, Jr. states the cause of death as “drowned - accidentally”.[4]
John Henry Willis, Jr. is buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Mobile. His grave marker incorrectly gives his date of death as 16 January 1917.[5]
Tonight’s assignment was very easy to determine. I only have a known birth and death date for eleven of my direct line ancestors. Plus I have known since childhood that my grandfather had a tragically short life. It was easy to eyeball my tree to confirm John Henry Willis, Jr. as my ancestor with the shortest lifespan.

Hello everyone and welcome to my Masterlist! Below you will find a bunch of films and characters I am writing about. I know there are a lot but a lot of them I am planning but I haven't started writing, a few of them are already completed and the rest, I am currently working on. If I do not update very often, it is probably either because I have writers block (which is not very often), or I am very busy with school work. You will find that some stories I am currently updating often in my Quotev profile: FairyofHogwarts, but they do not appear here until I am done with the book, with a “part” or with a “season”. The reason I only post them here once they are done is because 99.9% of the comments I get on Quotev is “When will you update?” “UPDATE!” even when I updated literally just hours ago -_-. Not only that, it is a lot of hassle and copying and pasting to do from Quotev to here as well as to my Wattpad profile Jadecross4ever. Summary – What if Corinna never died on her journey to Jamestown to wed James Read the blacksmith? What if she survived and when James Read stood at the warf, awaiting the arrival of his soon to be bride, he met shy, past abused, but loving Corinna Grant. No one thought that someone could work their way into James’s hard as iron heart but Corinna was different and there may be hope for the stone faced blacksmith of Jamestown and the shy but caring little “maid to make wife”.
Warnings – Unsure as of yet but most definitely: fluff, angst, mentions of abuse, death, mentions of blood and injury, smut.
(Just a note, if ya’ll don't know anything about the tv show or James Read, definitely look into it! It is a fun, intriguing frontier, colonial story and it worked its way into my heart even though it was not as high on the rank like the Witcher, GOT or Mandalorian. Just a note to those who have seen it, I have nothing against Jocelyn and I respect that she and James have a relationship in the show but due to the fact that the show ended on a sort of cliffhanger, and the fact that Jocelyn is a spoiled little princess, I wanted to justify the story for my own sanity and give James the love that he deserves:))

Summary – Jack Frost is officially a guardian but there are things about the past that he does not know about yet. What he does not realize is that the Autumn Spirit may have enough warmth up her sleeve to melt his heart.

Eirnin & Naomh
Oops! My hand slipped and I made another two OCs for Na Daoine Maithe/The Good People, clumsy me! xD
Anyway, meet Eirnin and Naomh, my tiny gremlin and towering lady. I made them for the purpose of having all dialogue options/LIs covered AND because I wanted to have an oc shorter than Shae and another taller than Flannán. Why? Because yes, that's why (and because short Alaine will be more than capable than flustering Flannán, but can you imagine him flustered because for once he feels tiny? It must be a sight)
So yeah, with everyone introduced and no new content coming for some time, I'm all set to make my own now. I hope you will enjoy it as I keep jumping from one hyperfixation to another xD

👃 : Does your OC smell good? Do they have a signature scent?(for any/all)
hello! thank u for the ask <3 (see the prompt list here)
Cal will often wear perfume because it is pretty and they like new and interesting sensory stuff. (Plus Keags would buy it for them). They wouldn't have a signature scent because they would get bored of it before anything got to that point. They also might smell of paints, or whatever (fun-scented!) shampoo/conditioner/body butter they might have used recently.
Celeste is not the type to wear perfume. They will smell like their soap (handmade - some kind of natural scent, from something they could have found while foraging, or grown in their garden). Alternatively, they will smell of plants, grass or dirt, because they spend a lot of time working in the garden (they love it!)
Tiff would wear perfume, and I imagine she would wear stuff that is quite floral and delicate. I think she probably has a few perfumes that she's found over time that she really likes, so she'll rotate those 2-4 scents. She may also smell of... Aife's perfume (hehe).

Changing my name
Buying my ticket for the bus to Belem in Brasilia bus station the assistant at the counter took my passport to enter the details on my ticket.
He misread my passport and put me down as Brian Eireannach, meaning Brian Irishman or Brian Irish Citizen.
I was worried they wouldn’t let me on the bus as they check your ticket and passport before you board.
The bus company staff did check my ticket, my worrying was needless.
They matched the name on the ticket with the ‘name’ on my passport and ushered me on the bus.
I was on my way to Belem, all that stood in my way was a 36-hour bus trip and 2,000km.
Our 12.00 bus leaves at 12.20 and we leave with sixteen passengers aboard. We stop at another bus station in Brasilia.
We make some more stops as we drive around the city.
By 13.15 we’re out the city.
A while later a man gets on and stands up at the top of the bus.
I can’t make out if he’s selling religion, a political philosophy or a vacuum cleaner.
He speaks quietly and then moves down through the bus. He’s selling honey products. He doesn’t get many sales.
Off we go to the wide expanse of Brazil, past narrow streams and endless rivers, lush fields of grazing cattle, planted fields and dusty dry fields.
Trees with the most beautiful yellow flowers.
We come to a prosperous looking town where all the businesses open onto the street.
People live their lives out of doors, without doors, because it’s so warm.
We pass a pool hall with one table, maybe it’s pool room more than a hall; past a beautician’s where a few women are sitting around, one woman is getting her nails done.
The sun goes down on our left in the west and we drive on into the night, northwards.
The following morning we stop in the city of Rio Lontra at 08.30.
It’s the 29th July 2010 and the place is buzzing.
On the way into the city we pass a load of car and truck dealerships, Mercedes trucks; Ford cars; Iveco trucks; Hyundai cars and vans; John Deere tractors.
We drive over Rio Tocantins at 10.40.
We stop later for a 30-minute lunchbreak.
We stop again at 16.00 for 30-minutes. 4 people board the bus selling various things.
A crippled man begs for money.
The sun goes down on the 29th of July and we drive on to Belem and the 30th of July.
The bus pulls into Belem bus station at 12.30am.
I take a taxi to my hostel.
The place seems tropical,
I’m in the Amazon!
