A frustrating development with the growing lack of reading comprehension I've personally noticed is an emerging fervor of insisting things aren't canon unless they are explicitly stated beyond all reasonable doubt.
I can not emphasize enough how harmful a mindset this is to have. Yes, it's wonderful to have characters outright say "I'm trans," but to deny a character's identity for not saying that is dangerous.
Plenty of real people prefer not to use specific labels. Historically, people didn't have our modern terms or modes of expression. Many modern cultures don't use these terms, either, and plenty of people within those that do can't safely openly identify.
If the only representation you accept as canon is within modern (and let's be honest, wealthy white able-bodied American) standards, then you are denying yourself and others a huge amount of representation and seriously limiting the media around you.

The Punk-Factor of Punkpunk Genre
So, when I posted my history of Solarpunk, someone (probably not in good faith) asked: “So, what about the punk in all the other punk genres?!” towards my request to put the punk back into Solarpunk. And given that my autistic brain obviously cannot just let that stand… You know what? Let me talk about the other punk genre and in how far they are “punk”. I tried to be as exhaustive as possible, though there is a good chance, that I might have missed some of the punkpunk genre. So feel free to add.
Trying to judge the punkiness I do not assume punk as simple counter culture, but a specific ideology. Quote from Wikipedia:
[Punk ideology] is primarily concerned with concepts such as mutual aid, against selling out, hierarchy, white supremacy, authoritarianism, anti-consumerism, anti-corporatism, anti-war, imperialism, conservatism, anti-globalization, gentrification, anti-racism, anti-sexism, class and classism, gender equality, racial equality, eugenics, animal rights, free-thought and non-conformity
Most of the artwork here has been taken from concept art of either of the examples listed.
Sorted from most futuristic to pre(historic). Yes, the list is long.
Tumblr media
Cyberpunk
We start with the OG punk genre, the one after which all other punk genre were named. Yes, you could argue that in fact the two genre following are more futuristic – but Cyberpunk kinda just had to start the list.
As a genre: Given that Cyberpunk had its start completely in literature it is the best defined in this regard. Taking place in a late stage capitalist dystopian world in which most is owned by megacorps who don’t follow anyone’s laws but their own, the protagonists usually are social outcasts fighting against their own oppression, trying to keep themselves alive in a world hostile to them. With cybernetics always being a core of the genre, it also tends to deal with the question of humanity in a “ship of Theseus” sort of way. How much can the human body be altered, before the human vanishes?
As an aesthetic: Cyberpunk is the most punk in terms of aesthetics, really. There is a lot of punk and grunge going on in terms of character design. Neon hair colors, fishnets and thorn up jeans jackets can be found here. As well as of course cybernetics on the characters. The world usually is a megacity with a stark divide between rich and poor, tons of neon signs, a slight Japanese influence, flying cars and somehow a constant downpour of rain.
Punk-Factor: Cyberpunk is the one punk genre, where the “punk” was chosen very knowingly as a name. Usually the protagonists are “punks” fighting for their place in the world against a suppressive capitalist system. (Also, they usually fit the punk aesthetic, if they don’t wear leather dusters.) It should be noted however, that especially in newer western Cyberpunk often the punkiness vanishes more and more – for the same reason we have so little Solarpunk: media that outright confronts the problems of capitalism is just less supported.
Examples: Neuromancer (1984), Mirrorshades: The Cyberpunk Anthology (1986), Snow Crash (1992), The Matrix (1999), Dredd (2012)
Tumblr media
Biopunk
As a genre: As a genre biopunk is still fairly ill defined, as it mostly shows up as a subsection of Cyberpunk. Rather than the characters having cybernetic implants (or additionally to it) they are augmented on a genetic level. This can be all sorts of augmentations, changing anything from appearance to giving characters higher strength and agility, giving them claws or night vision, or in some cases even “magic” powers. Usually the genre tends to be set in worlds similar to Cyberpunk. In fact it might well be set in a cyberpunk world, only that characters with bioaugmentations exist parallel to those with cybernetics. Additionally, though, there is a subsection of this genre, that concerns reproductive rights.
As an aesthetic: Ironically biopunk is even less defined as an aesthetic. There is not a lot of biopunk art out there and most that exists can go in different directions. As such it often mixes elements from other punk aesthetics – like Cyberpunk, Steampunk or Dieselpunk – with an assortment of bodyhorror elements.
Punk-Factor: It is hard to define the “punkiness” of a genre, that barely exists for the most part. Usually, when it is set against a Cyberpunk backdrop, it might be very punky, but in other settings those punk elements vanish.
Examples: Ribofunk (1995), Altered Carbon (2002), Bioshock (2007), The Windup Girl (2009)
Tumblr media
Nanopunk
As a genre: Like Biopunk Nanopunk mostly exists as a subsubgenre to Cyberpunk, often being set in a mostly Cyberpunk world, only that instead of or additionally to Cybernetics, the technology used to alter the human body is nanites. These serve the same function as the genetic manipulation in Biopunk, giving the human in question more strength and agility and at times more or less magical abilities. There is one common plot that comes up again and again, with an AI or megacorp turning the nanites against the people they inhabit or trying to control them.
As an aesthetic: Aesthetically Nanopunk does not have much in terms of its own identity. Most artworks relating to Nanopunk feature a similar aesthetic to Cyberpunk, with megacities and lots of neon.
Punk-Factor: This genre is so small, that it is kinda hard to judge the exact punkiness.
Examples: The Diamond Age (1995), Prey (2002)
Tumblr media
Solarpunk
As a genre: Being another genre, that started as such, Solarpunk is a bit better defined. Solarpunk usually takes place in a world post-strive. It is post-capitalist and decolonial in its settings, usually featuring a world that has either formed against the backdrop of preventing climate collapse or in the aftermath of it. A lot of it features people rebuilding – or alternatively building communities. It always features elements about living in harmony with nature or trying to do so. So far, the genre is mostly defined by short stories, partly because there is still disagreements within the movement, how far a conflict can be taken to still qualify as Solarpunk.
As an aesthetic: Solarpunk has a very strong aesthetic definition, mostly featuring all sorts of cities and urban areas, that incorporate natural elements into the urbanity, with greenery growing on roofs and concrete car-centric streets being replaced with more natural, walkable areas. The character design aesthetic is not quite as clearly defined, but usually features natural materials and patterns usually seen within indigenous art.
Punk-Factor: Contrary to what many say, Solarpunk is fairly punk, as it very much embraces the entire anti-hierarchical, anti-capitalist mentality. With the big difference, that the punk mentality is no longer counter culture, but the mainstream culture.
Examples: The Dispossessed (1974), Nausicaä (1984), Laputa – Castle in the Sky (1986), Princess Mononoke (1997), The Summer Prince (2013)
Tumblr media
Lunarpunk
As a genre: Lunarpunk is pretty much a subsubgenre of Solarpunk, just as Nanopunk and Biopunk are sprung off from Cyberpunk. It is so far ill-defined as a genre, but the general consensus is, that it is set in solarpunk-esque worlds, but with a heavier focus on mysticism or spiritualism, at times outright including magic. It also tends to feature a lot darker places, being set in underwater or underground settings – or alternatively at night.
As an aesthetic: Lunarpunk is far more of an aesthetic than a genre so far. It features dark places, often with bioluminescent elements in it. Often featuring a mixture of black and dark blue with lighter blue, violet or light green elements shining in the middle of it. Mushrooms – especially glowing mushrooms – feature repeatedly in artwork.
Punk-Factor: Given that Lunarpunk is barely defined as a genre it is hard to estimate the punkiness in it. If it gets more stories, will those still feature the anti-capitalist and anti-hierarchical messaging we see in Solarpunk? This should be the defining factor. Some of the artworks use little aesthetics from the punk scene, but nothing much more.
Examples: Bioluminescent: A Lunarpunk Anthology (2023)
Tumblr media
Hopepunk
Honestly, I had no idea where to put this one, given that it might technically be set at any time and place.
As a genre: Hopepunk is very much a genre, not an aesthetic. It has been defined as the opposite of grimdark by its “inventor/name-giver” Alexandra Rowland. The basic idea is to create fiction that instead of taking a dystopian, defeatist and violent approach, takes one defined by hope and to some degree pacifism. As such the genre can be set in any setting, real or fantastic. It mostly is defined by the protagonists taking opposition to cruelty and violence, fighting for a better world and, crucially, also partly archiving it. Other than in usual Cyberpunk, where the best possible ending, tends to be, that the protagonists get to live a somewhat better life themselves, Hopepunk aims to better the life at least for groups of people.
As an aesthetic: Being fully a genre, Hopepunk has no aesthetic associated with it.
Punk-Factor: Hopepunk is punk less in the sense of the protagonists or things happening within the story, which might or might not be punk, but was named such rather because it is considered counter cultural towards the gross of media at the moment, that often strives for a “realistic, gritty, grimdark” outlook on the world. Basically it is saying: “Hope is punk.” I will not make any judgement on whether or not this is true.
Examples: The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet (2014), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), The Good Place (2016)
Tumblr media
Mythpunk
As a genre: Another one, that does not really fit into a temporal sorting system, because once again it can be set anywhere between the stone age and the far future. The basic idea is, that the story interweaves postmodern storytelling with elements from mythology or folklore. This can mean mythological, genre-traversing retellings, but it can also mean, that mythology seeps into any given story bit by bit. As such the genre with probably the most media in the subgenre is Urban Fantasy, which often borrows from mythology and incorporates these elements.
As an aesthetic: Mythpunk as an aesthetic is a bit strange. There is definitely a mythpunk aesthetic that exists, often mixing familiar elements with elements from mythology and folklore (at times also including quasi-folkloric works of literature, such as Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz). Often just a bit dark and twisted.
Punk-Factor: To be perfectly frank, for the most part, there is not a lot of punk to be found in this genre. While there have been definitely punky stories told within the genre, this is more a story decision than something inherent to the genre.
Examples: Pan’s Labyrinth (2006), Over the Garden Wall (2014), Inscryption (2016)
Tumblr media
Dustpunk / Rustpunk / Desertpunk
As a genre: Kinda grouping those above all together, because people argue about what they might entail and in some interpretations they kinda are similar: Post-apocalyptic stories set in a world of sand and rust. Often featuring a loner character, having to go up against everyone to ensure his own survival – and at times being forced to learn, that the lonerness might not win him (and most often it is a him) anything.
As an aesthetic: Aesthetically this tends to be very much post-apocalyptic, maybe in some cases with some more classical punk elements added to characters and surroundings.
Punk-Factor: Given that there is neither a system to rage against – nor a new, less hierarchical system – usually there is not that much punk outside of some aesthetic choices. Neither tend those stories go into constructing worlds of mutual aid or working against oppression.
Examples: Anything Mad Max should count for this.
Tumblr media
Atompunk
As a genre: Atompunk usually deals with themes connected to the cold war – in some cases directly, in some indirectly. Often it overplays the American ideals that were pushed for during the cold war era and portrays scenarios in which American Exceptionalism slowly reveals itself as the dystopia most punks already know it to be. Outside of this vague idea for the setting, the genre is less described, as there is less of a clear script an Atompunk story might follow. So, little description of who might be the protagonist and what their role is.
As an aesthetic: The aesthetic of Atompunk borrows heavily from the Raygun Gothic aesthetic. So, futurism, as it was imagined in the 1950s and 1960s, with heavy influences from late pulp age science fiction art.
Punk-Factor: The aesthetic in this is definitely not punk. The stories often have some vague punk ideas of recognizing how fucked up the world has become, but given the genre is fairly wide in terms of stories, it is hard to give a definite answer to how “punk” it is. One can definitely tell punk stories within this genre, though.
Examples: Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy (1978), Fallout (1997), Futurama (1999)
Tumblr media
Dieselpunk
As a genre: Dieselpunk is once again an example of “strong aesthetic, but no clear genre identity”. Generally, Dieselpunk is concerned with the interwar period, but might cover either of the world wars. In some cases the genre features alternate timelines, in which one war happened and not the other, or in which another faction won, with the technological development being influenced by this as well. But as a genre it is not much defined. A lot of stories building on Lovecraft’s legacy feature Dieselpunk in some regards. And there is definitely a subsection of Dieselpunk stories centered around “what if Nazis won” or “what if Nazis somehow went underground and did their own technological development after the war”. Also, there are a lot of stories about pilots of war planes in this genre.
As an aesthetic: As an aesthetic Dieselpunk is more clearly defined. A lot of bare metal and the sorts of technology you would expect from this era, often with retro-futurist and art noveau elements in between. A lot of the fashion within the genre is defined by pilot and military clothing of the times, but at times also dipping into “roaring 20s” fashion styles.
Punk-Factor: In this genre I would generally say: “If the story involves punching Nazis, you might get a couple punk points – but otherwise this is not really punk.”
Examples: The Iron Dream (1972), Brazil (1985), Dark City (1998), Iron Sky (2012), Bitter Seeds (2010)
Tumblr media
Teslapunk
As a genre: Yet another one of these, that exists mostly as a vague idea, with no clear definition. The basic idea is a world, that works on Tesla’s inventions. And as those of you, who watched Doctor Who, might know, Tesla sorta, kinda already invented the internet or had an idea of what it could be and how it could work. So a Teslapunk world is based in an alternate timeline, but might in fact go into light futurism. There is not much in this genre though with a unique thematic identity, as stories that use Teslapunk as a backdrop rarely have coherent themes.
As an aesthetic: The aesthetic of Teslapunk is basically “Steampunk, but with Tesla-coils and electricity”. Which is not a big surprise given that Tesla came from the same era that would also be the inspiration for Steampunk. So, we have a lot of Victorian fashion, maybe some light augmentation, airships, and – again – all the tesla coils you can muster.
Punk-Factor: As, again, I think punk is more about themes than aesthetic, this is once more not really possible to judge, because there do not seem coherent themes within the genre so far.
Examples: The Prestige (2006), Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011), Bioshock Infinite (2013)
Tumblr media
Arcanepunk
Another one of those that do not neatly fit into the timeline…
As a genre: Arcanepunk takes place in a world, where both magic and technology have developed. In some cases both developed side by side, in others, we might have a technological world, that suddenly discovers magic by some happenstance. The fact is, though, that both exist parallel to each other or might at times be intertwined, with technology being powered by magic. This can exist at different technological stages, usually featuring settings inspired by the late 19th or early 20th century. But usually futuristic stuff that includes magic might be considered Arcanepunk, just as might stories that mix 18th century technology with magic. While also a vague genre, there is a repeating theme of magic being hoarded by those in powers and the poor and downtrodden finding ways to still use it in their own advantage.
As an aesthetic: Given that Arcanepunk’s setting is defined by the co-existence of magic and technology, rather than a specific technology, Arcanepunk has less of a defined aesthetic. Never the less, we have a part of punk aesthetics that often come up, as a surprising amount of Arcanepunk features characters with neon colored hair.
Punk-Factor: Another genre that is rather thin, yet, there is a surprising amount of stories featuring some punk ideas of fighting against an oppressive system and being counter culture to a main culture build around suppression.
Examples: Too Many Magicians (1966), Shadowrun (1989), Bartimaeus (2003), Arcane (2021) duh
Tumblr media
Steampunk
Steampunk was the second genre to pick up the “punk” suffix and hence is as much responsible for the punk-punk as Cyberpunk as the originator.
As a genre: Being named as early as it has been, Steampunk kinda suffers the same issue as Cyberpunk itself. There is a lot of ideas there, but some are only vaguely defined. In general, though Steampunk always takes place in a world where the steam engine became the defining technology and was never replaced with the combustion engine. As such cultural aspects from the steam era, especially Victorian England and the Belle Epoche, still carry over for longer, than they did. So often we will see noble households based around similar values as the puritan Victorian English families, while the very poor are made to work in workhouses. At times we might also see themes of colonialism here. In some cases magic might exist in these worlds, as might electricity for some aspects. There is often a heavy inspiration from Jules Verne and H.G. Wells. Though it is still hard to define the “stereotypical steampunk story”, given that Steampunk offers a wide variety of stories, from adventure stories and romances, over to stories where people rise up against the Victorian-esque society.
As an aesthetic: Steampunk as an aesthetic is very much influenced by Victorian aesthetics and the time period of the late 19th century, mostly in the USA, Great Britain and France. But as all other punk genres it knows very well: “If it is worth doing, it is worth overdoing,” so steam-related elements are added to everything. Could
Punk-Factor: In the original idea for Steampunk was a lot of punk. “What if we took Cyberpunks ‘rage against the unjust system’ and made it 19th century” they asked. But given that the genre branched out so much, it is not necessarily there in all the stories. There is a ton of stories where people rage against that steam powered Victorian machine – but also a ton in which the Victorian world gets idealized and romanticized.
Examples: Thief (1998), The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (1999), Wild Wild West (1999), Clockwork Century (2008) – also half of all Sherlock Holmes adaption made after 2000 in any medium usually use Steampunk elements
Tumblr media
Silkpunk
As a genre: Silkpunk is hard to define, despite there being a clear definition. The reason for this is, that the person who coined the term – Ken Liu – had a very specific idea in mind. He explains that the idea is of a world that has technology as language. In which form is as important as function, is made to speak a language all of its own. Inspired by ideas from W. Brian Arthur and Chinese philosophy. However, what the wider Science Fiction and Fantasy community made from it was “Steampunk but East Asian!” But given he coined the term (and also the alternative feels vaguely racist) I am going to go with Ken Liu for this. While Silkpunk will usually be set in an East Asian inspired world, the central idea is about the duality of technology, which will also be addressed within the stories.
As an aesthetic: As said above, the idea Liu had for it was a world that features some technology, but technology that is as much about form and communication through it, as it is about function. So the technology here has strong visual ideas. At least that was, how Liu intended it. Once again, the wider community made “Steampunk, but East Asian” out of it.
Punk-Factor: There is not a lot of stuff in this genre for now – however so far I do not manage to see a lot of punk ideas in it, even though some of Liu’s stories definitely feature the concept of challenging a higher power.
Examples: Dandelion Dynasty (2015), The Black Tides of Heaven (2018), The Tea Master and the Detective (2019)
Tumblr media
Clockpunk
As a genre: Once again storytelling in this genre is not really defined, but the worlds diverge a bit before the wide adaption of steam, instead featuring mechanical devices powered by coils and springs and somehow kept alive, often at least implied through some form of arcane magic that gives “live” to these mechanical inventions. Most examples of Clockpunk, however, tend to show up as settings for parts of fantasy stories. Any fantasy world might have this “Clockpunk” area, where protagonists might travel. Especially games tend to feature this. While there is definitely a trope of the “mad inventor” often going along with this, few other tropes stand out.
As an aesthetic: The aesthetic of Clockpunk tends to take some inspiration from the early 19th century, but tends to add a lot of gears to everything, with even city wide gear constructions keeping things working. We often will find mechatronic characters, such as wind up soldiers or wind up dancers.
Punk-Factor: Once more, there are so few stories told, that it is kinda hard to speak about how punk this is. Most stories told so far, however, do not feature punk elements.
Examples: The Great Mouse Detective (1986), Hugo (2011), Clockwork Planet (2017)
Tumblr media
Whalepunk
Please note: This is one of those genre, I would love to see more in, though so far it is barely explored.
As a genre: And you might ask: “Why do you even name those genre, that exist mostly in theory?”, to which I might answer: “Because I am a nerd.” As all these retrofuturists genre, Whalepunk imagines mostly an alternate historical timeline, where the technology that became defining was based around whale oil. This means that in Whalepunk often whalers or harbors play a big role, though as the genre is again very thinly spread, it is hard to say what “THE whalepunk” formular is. It seems there is a tendency, to mix some mysticism or magic into the genre, though, as the idea of hunting sea monsters often plays into it as well. Good chance that it could at some point merge with Cthulupunk (which I did not name separately, because most of it is either covered in Whalepunk or Dieselpunk).
As an aesthetic: The aesthetic of Whalepunk is basically “Steampunk, but with more sailors, ships and sea monsters”. There is definitely a bit of Oceanpunk mixed into it as well, with some aesthetics being somewhere between Steampunk and Dieselpunk. (Which is kinda ironic, because whale oil was mostly used in the early 19th century.)
Punk-Factor: And again. There so far is not a lot of connective thematic tissue within that genre, so exploring themes is kinda hard.
Examples: Dishonored (2012), Dredge (2023)
Tumblr media
Oceanpunk / Piratepunk
As a genre: It really is hard to divide the Piratepunk out of the Oceanpunk, though some might call it different. The idea here is that this genre features stories mostly set on the ocean and often more heavily leaning into fantasy, than science fiction. While the worlds might feature technological elements, they will almost certainly feature magical elements of some sort. The characters will usually be seafaring one way or another and stories might involve any sort of adventure. There might be a storyline, though, about one company or nation trying to control the seas – often times through magical means – with the characters often unwillingly being made to oppose them. This genre might also take place in a post-apocalyptic setting with a flooded planet.
As an aesthetic: While the aesthetic is not clearly defined, there is a good chance that it borrows heavily from the late 17th and early 18th century and the golden age of piracy, when it comes to both ships and fashion sensibilities.
Punk-Factor: Pirates, at least as far as modern media imagines them, tend to be very punk, as they tend to inherently oppose any sort of government and what not. While the punk is not there in all of the stories, a lot of the most popular stories from the genre will feature at least lightly punky elements.
Examples: One Piece (1997), Pirates of the Caribbean (2003), Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag (2013)
Tumblr media
Dungeonpunk
As a genre: So, the idea of the genre is basically “What if Cyberpunk, but Dungeons & Dragons?” Usually set in a vaguely medieval world, this world still shows the same corporate corruption as your usual Cyberpunk world. Adventurers are just another resource to be exploited by the system, their day job involving going on yet another dungeon crawl. For this there might be some technology entirely powered by magic, with those magic items taking over the same functions technology might have in a Cyberpunk world. And yes, indeed some brave dwarf, elf or halfling might rise up and challenge the corporate dungeon syndicate. (As you might sense: Yes, this genre tends to be at least partly a bit of a parody of the punkpunk idea. Though it also can be played straight as “Cyberpunk conflicts, just that all technology is somehow magic.”)
As an aesthetic: This is once again one of the examples, where there is a clear idea behind it – but absolutely no clear aesthetic, as this genre might cover anything from medieval settings to a lot more modern stuff.
Punk-Factor: The base idea, being heavily inspired by the base idea of Cyberpunk, just from a very different perspective. But too many people read the genre as “Magic Technology, yay”, in which case, no, it is not punk.
Examples: Dungeons & Dragons can be played this way, also Final Fantasy VI – XIII definitely counts.
Tumblr media
Sandalpunk
As a genre: I mostly include this for the sake of it, because this genre tends to boil down to “fantasy set in ancient Greece or Rome, but with vaguely anachronistic elements”. It might also include alternate history stories (even going so far as Science Fiction) based on the idea “What if Ancient Rome/Ancient Greece never fell?” There is no real overarching themes, even though I could imagine some interesting way one could build those up. So far, though, it is mostly a vague gesture towards: “SciFi Fantasy, but with more ancient civilizations.”
As an aesthetic: The aesthetic is usually just Ancient Rome or Ancient Greece, but with more magic or anachronistic elements.
Punk-Factor: Given the super vague nature of the genre and the fact that it seems more like a genre of hindsight (with most media being declared this having been released even before 2000)… Nobody wrote those stories to be punk. The one punk thing I can see about several of these stories is people challenging Gods, but… That’s about it.Examples: Hercules: Legendary Journeys (1995), Xena: Warrior Princess (1995), God of War (2005)
Tumblr media
Stonepunk
As a genre: The basic idea of Stonepunk is, that it is set in a stone age world, but with the technology being pressed towards a very anachronistic end, which is often played for laughs. Basically it gives stone age people a modern seeming world, though not really. Often enough this is used to make a point about the modern world and parody it in some regard. An argument can be made for stories, that feature stone age technology people being somehow subjected to modern technology (for example through time travel or space travel) also possibly falling into this genre.
As an aesthetic: Usually the aesthetic of Stonepunk is one of an overplayed stone age setting. The clothing characters might wear are not what we know is historically more accurate but really just “everyone wears a pelt around their shoulders”. Meanwhile stone age tools get spun to be used as all sorts of modern technologies.
Punk-Factor: The genre does usually not feature punk themes. However, the nature of parodying and challenging the modern world tends to be punk in its own merit, I assume?
Examples: The Flintstones (1960), The Croods (2013), Horizon: Zero Dawn (2017)
Tumblr media
That's it. That's the list.
Feel free to add to it.

on your period (roman + stewy)
Roman
ᝰ has no idea what he’s doing
ᝰ he calls your period a full stop because ‘they’re synonyms lol’ (as his text said)
ᝰ just wants you happy
ᝰ so whenever you’re on your period he just
ᝰ does things for you??
ᝰ makes you breakfast in bed, attempts to pack you a lunch, botches dinner
ᝰ he’s trying at least
ᝰ he usually just settles for buying you whatever you’re craving and letting you lay your head in his lap
ᝰ he strokes your hair, your face, your neck, your back
ᝰ he makes sure you’re feeling good
ᝰ lots of chocolate all the time
ᝰ just so that he can eat it with you
ᝰ if you ever ruin any pants or clothing or even furniture, he replaces it without you knowing
ᝰ “didn’t i throw this pair of pants out last week?” you ask him one time
ᝰ “i got you a new one, don’t worry about it.”
ᝰ if you suffer with cramps or any sort of chronic illness regarding your reproductive health, he’s always quietly concerned
ᝰ “you sure it doesn’t hurt? you should tell me if it hurts.”
ᝰ keeps track of how long in between painkillers your pain returns
ᝰ makes you try a bunch of homemade remedies he googled
ᝰ the first time you go on your period while you’re living together, he goes out and buys you a heating pad, a weighted blanket, and a heated blanking thing all at once
ᝰ if you use pads or tampons, he gets really confused when out trying to buy some for you
ᝰ but he’s too embarrassed to ask
ᝰ so when you’re taking a nap he scuttles into the bathroom and takes a picture that he keeps on his phone
ᝰ and then gets the exact ones when he notices you’re running out or you ask him
ᝰ this man bullies the doctors that don’t listen to you
ᝰ like he is well known with the endocrinologists and gynecologists in the are as a nusiance
ᝰ and lowkey an asshole
ᝰ but it’s all ‘in your honor’ as he says
ᝰ “if they say they’re cramping, they’re cramping. aren’t you supposed to be helpful? how the fuck do you have a medical license?”
ᝰ has gotten kicked out of the appointment many a time
ᝰ but he always waits patiently for you outside
ᝰ and calls corporate like the diva he is
ᝰ has the means to get you the best care
ᝰ and he does get you it
ᝰ “you literally deserve so much more than i can give you. you’re my everything, remember?”
ᝰ “i love you, ro.”
ᝰ “fuck off with that sappy shit…. i love you more.”
Stewy
ᝰ knows enough about periods to be able to help you
ᝰ like he’s knowledgeable enough to cook things he knows your body is in need of during your period of ovulation
ᝰ urges you to work out specifically on your period
ᝰ “it helps clear your head,” he says
ᝰ but if you’re not up to it, he won’t make you
ᝰ maybe just a small walk around outside and he’ll let you just nap
ᝰ but if you even don’t even want to walk, he thinks you’re dying
ᝰ and showers you in affection
ᝰ which he does anyway even if he thinks you’re fine??
ᝰ he’s just dramatic
ᝰ he’s an awfully good cook
ᝰ he loves cooking
ᝰ especially for you
ᝰ he specifically makes you pho for dinner every first day of your period
ᝰ “it clears your sinuses, babe,” he says every single time
ᝰ it does, really
ᝰ he’s really big about the two of you sitting down at the table for meals
ᝰ but if you’re unable because of your period, it’s fine with him
ᝰ he bought one of those breakfast in bed trays just for those moments
ᝰ if you struggle with bad cramps or reproductive illness, he’s with you at every single appointment
ᝰ sometimes he even sits next to you on the patient bed
ᝰ he just likes swinging his legs over the side

YOU. give me your jonah magnus headcanons
oh FUCK yes.
let me preface this by saying I could talk about this piece of shit for HOURS. also these range from completely random trivia things to silly to oddly specific. also I may have projected a bit too much but oh well, that's what fictional babygirls are for
- I'm a trans Jonah truther. but also he'd been going exclusively by he/him pretty much his whole life until someone in the middle of an argument called him "it" and he had one of those "wait am I even a person" moments and since then he does not know wtf he is. is he a man? is he a thing? is he a creature? is he a concept? none of the above? all of the avobe? who knows. not even the Eye knows what's going on with that.
- he grew up on the outskirts of Edinburgh, and he has very mixed feelings about it. like on one hand he did not like it and was overjoyed to leave, but on the other that is his home and you will not disrespect it. to this day if anyone talks shit about Edinburgh or Scotland in general he has to stop himself from acting bothered about it.
- I'm sorry but I can smell his daddy/mommy issues from MILES away (he has both).
- he used to be super self-conscious. the "shit they're all staring at me but I need to pretend to be confident and respectable so fuck it" sort of way.
- he was especially insecure about his freckles. he was convinced they made him look like a little kid (which is not true, freckles are gorgeous and fuck anyone who thinks otherwise).
- he's always had a huge staring problem. and he originally had really big eyes so if anyone caught his interest they'd just be doing their thing and then turn around and catch him like 👁️_👁️.
- also he was always that kid that asked too many questions, especially regarding god (another thing I can smell from miles away is the religious trauma).
- he was born on november 13th 1787 (a tuesday the 13th, which in some cultures is believed to be a bad luck day, like friday the 13th) and officially founded the Institute on his 31st birthday (november 13th 1818, a friday the 13th).
- he has a collection of lover's eyes gifted by his many boyfriends acquaintances. he's got them all in a little box at his place and he remembers the exact moment each was gifted to him.
- I'm not going to get into how I imagine the time between when Barnabas got chucked into the Lonely and when he went to get his bones (it would take far too long) but this bitch was Not Having A Good Time. those broken glasses and torn pages Barny mentioned in his last letter? all him baby.
- also after Barnabas died he had a period of a couple weeks where he did not speak. not one word. he looked completely normal otherwise but people did notice. after that he just acted like nothing had happened and pretended to be clueless when people asked him about it.
- speaking of Barnabas's bones, he got a quill made of the bones in the ring finger of his left hand. he never uses it (no occasion is special enough) but he takes it with him any time he leaves the Institute for longer than a day (he couldn't take it with him to jail though :( ).
- speaking of leaving the Institute, he travels surprisingly rarely. it's not that he doesn't like traveling or that he can't afford it, he simply doesn't do it.
- Jonathan Fanshawe's last letter hurt him far more than he expected, and so did Albrecht's death. he thought he wouldn't feel much after Barny's death but that shit hit him.
- his eyesight gets worse every time he gets a new body. as Elias his glasses are so thick it's almost comical.
- he loves fluffy blankets with a PASSION.
-but he despises fluffy sweaters. he cannot wear them.
- he also loves pillows, cushions etc. he has at least 10 in his bed.
- you can't tell me his egotistical ass doesn't spend AT LEAST 2 hours getting ready every day (and 50% of that time he spends just staring at himself, checking that every minute detail is absolutely perfect).
- he's a raging hypochondriac. this man (gender neutral) will sneeze once and he's already thinking about his next body.
- his favorite cake flavour is red velvet. also black forest cake reminds him of Albrecht.
- as much as I like the joke of Jonah being the Lukases communal bootycall, he actually despises most of that family.
- aside from his long list of "acquaintances", he did have a super short fling with Simon Fairchild. Simon still jokes about it to this day and Jonah hates him for it.
- when he's angry or under a lot of stress he'll just stop blinking. like he usually doesn't blink as often as The Average Human, but if he's mad he'll just stop entirely. this started happening after the failed Watcher's Crown, but he didn't notice it until one time Gertrude pointed it out (that was a fun conversation, I might write something about this eventually).
- sometimes he'll forget or just not feel like doing normal bodily functions like eating or sleeping, and when he remembers that he has to in order to, you know, function, he gets so mad about it (why are human bodies so high maintenance and so unreliable at the same time istg).
- he used to be a sacredy cat. not anymore because he can See when people are close to him, but if you were to come up behind him to scare him back in the day he would leap.
- he has an odd fondness for amaranth flowers. I doubt he's a plant person but he likes those a lot (and tbh now that I think about it the mental image of plant mom Jonah makes me very soft. he'd tell the plants his Evil Plans and shit).
this is all I could think of off the top of my head but I'll probably add more as time goes by. I loved finally listing my headcanons for this little fucker so thanks for giving me the chance lol

Heyyy! I just wanted to first say I love your page it is absolutely a happy place for me tbh and I love the interactions you post. That being said, body language anon caught my attention in their last ask when they spoke about lestappen’s passion for the sport and f1 as an institution and would like to add some thoughts from a social-psychological pov.
I have also been thinking a lot about why lestappen stands out to many of us and why and how we got here and I think body language anon gets it right about how rather than big loud moments it is the smaller things that is so engrossing about their interactions. An account on tik tok (i have tried but can’t find it now) posted about how lestappen is “female gaze coded” precisely because of the little details (the boots, waits grab, shared history that is actually fanfiction worthy material). It is the purity and the meaningfulness of their interactions that make them so special rather than having two guys who are very obviously overzealous in their interactions (which has its appeals but clearly not to us- we like the angst and enemies to lovers trope too much for that)
Now from a socio-psychological standpoint I really want to take shipper goggles off for a moment and look at their relationship in their specific environment and the importance of homosociality. Homosociality is a theory that refers to the relations of same sex individuals in a society or given institution that sets them apart from the other sex- and other instituons/groups. And added layer that is slipping into Freudian territory-though I’m cautious- is that there is a latent homoerotic nature in same sex interactions- especially with men. This is not necessarily in a sexual way but more in a mutually reinforcing emotional way. Men in a give institution will seek the reinforcement of other men in their group and that is the crux of masculine homosociality and masculine relations- being self-reinforcing via socialisation with other men you hold in high regard due to their gender and their standing in the institution/group.
F1 as a male dominated institution and full of such reinforcing masculine interactions (driver-driver/TP/mechanics/fans (which is also why men find it hard to digest that women like F1 because they consider it an invasion of their sphere)) within this little system max and Charles have carved out special roles for one another where they seem to both especially seek out reinforcement from the other precisely because of that special shared passion for the sport and most likely because they both consider themselves above the rest of the men in the institution but equal and the same to one another which is why they seek each others reinforcement which can be literally anything that conveys approval (active listening, mirroring/mimicking, referencing shared history, accepting/initiating touch, laughing at jokes). There are some videos especially of Max in post race interviews where he looks almost jealous of Charles talking to another driver-and giving another driver the approval that belongs to Max. It becomes childish at that point with Max likely acting in a way that indicates his want to re-establish his special position with Charles- this may be by making jokes, eye contact or anything else which would result in instant approval. I can go into neuroscientific reward processes associated with seeking approval being equivalent to a drug and the best way to describe it is that if one of them shows any approval to the other it hits literally like neurotropic crack precisely because of the nature of their institutions and the special position of the other relative to themselves within that institution.
Which is also why I think that no matter how many times they interact publicly or privately they won’t ever have a relationship like Max and Daniel or Charles and Carlos where it is openly friendly and there is no slight tension (expressed by childish giddiness- like body language anon says with fidgeting and leg bouncing) caused by the fact that they have a long history that has carved out a specific place for the other driver as the approval-giver and becoming close friends would alter that dynamic to an un-acceptable degree. They will most likely alway remain flighty around each other, afraid of overstepping and messing up.
Anyway I’m sorry if this is messy this just popped into my head and I wanted to write it down.
Happy race weekend 🤍✨
Hello, my lovely anon! I'm going to refer to you as my beloved social-psychological anon, if that's alright with you.
First of all, thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so happy you're enjoying my blog, and that it's a happy place for you. That brings me so much joy to know. 💕
And babe, this anon has given me a beautiful start to my day. I've loved every single part of this ask, but this part right here is my personal favorite:
"There are some videos especially of Max in post race interviews where he looks almost jealous of Charles talking to another driver-and giving another driver the approval that belongs to Max. It becomes childish at that point with Max likely acting in a way that indicates his want to re-establish his special position with Charles- this may be by making jokes, eye contact or anything else which would result in instant approval." <<< Because this is the most spot-on thing I have ever read.
This social-psychologial insight into their relationship has truly added a whole other layer to Lestappen for me, and I don't think I could even begin to express to you how much I appreciate this. You and my body language anon are truly a beautiful combination, and I hope that you, like my body language anon, will return as often as you feel comfortable because it's such a wonderful treat to be able to read your insights.
Thank you so, so much for this, social-psychological anon. I love you.❤️

"I like it loose, thanks"
Summary: your boyfriend notices your special way of dressing. Specifically, he realises that your wardrobe consisting solely of oversized things.
Characters: Pomefiore;
Warnings: none (I mean should Vil qualify as a separate warning?), mild spoilers in Rook's section, reader is gender neutral, established romantic relationships;
Side notes: to everyone who dresses like that because I usually don't. Why am I writing this then? Felt like it and it's pretty cute imho~ I personally enjoy wearing both tight fitting and loose clothes, I highly recommend you to experiment with outfits and not be afraid of trying new things.
Vil
— that's the first thing he notices upon meeting you for the first time and even though Vil haven't said it outright it showed in his body language: he kept his arm crossed throughout the conversation, his face relatively high and steely eyes that would run up and down your whole being evaluating every detail;
— professional model was judgemental, it's not something that he would tone down for his friends or especially his partner since he always was seeking to improve himself and what surrounded him daily, including people;
— Vil is not a fan of clothes that do not fit well to put it mildly, whether it be too tight or too loose, so your boyfriend would not lay off until he changes your habits about choosing oversized items over proper fit, or at least not after you propose reasonable arguments as to why he should let you be;
— if you tell him you wear bigger clothes because you are self-conscious about your body or some parts of it...well good luck getting rid of your boyfriend now;
— beautiful male will drag you to every store, shopping mall and boutique in search of perfect clothing that would follow almost all of your demands;
— most of Pomefiore residents would melt if they experienced the same care and conscientiousness that you received from their fair dorm leader. He would ask your opinion on each and every wrinkle in the sketches of the outfit and looks he put together specifically for you and would get moody if you refuse to cooperate;
— if you tell Vil that you just feel comfortable wearing such type of clothes he would be pissed off yet he ultimately would leave you be;
— if anything your boyfriend is now set on making the most with the style you choose and might even drabble in oversize fit to match you. Not if the only things you wear are hoodies and jeans, then he would be wondering if you were truly a blessing or a curse;
— stealing Vil's clothes is strictly forbidden unless you inform him beforehand, however you can only wear them as long as they don't drag against the floor and don't get in the way of your movements. Provided clothes actually not look half bad on you, Vil may buy you your own piece yet it would be not as big as the original, sadly;
Rook
— one word: beautiful! The hunter had pieced together your ways of dressing a bit later than his dorm leader and yet this detail was another reason to fawn over you!
— Rook was acutely interested in why did you wear oversized clothes. Could it be that you are concealing items underneath your clothing? Maybe weapons? How cleaver! He would peak from all possible angles and try to poke and nudge into you, trying to find hidden daggers;
— if you don't mind blond male touching you, once you two are together this way of behaviour will form into the habit where he would often greet you by snaking his gloved hands under your clothes to feel your warmth and maybe get lucky and prompt you to show him some sort of reaction;
— Rook Hunt adores you from top to bottom so whatever reasoning for you style is, he is ready to spectate or aid. That doesn't stop him from recommending you one piece of clothing or another however. Don't take it close to heart, your boyfriend is just a curious person who wants to see his beloved in a variety of attires. Indulge him a few times and for a good while you won't stop hearing love poems he came up with, regarding your looks and emotions they sparked in him;
— if you go out together outside, do not lend him any of your big clothes under any circumstances. Even though the hunter is always ready for any potential prey to come into sight, he can't carry all hunting equipment with himself, especially if it's a formal date. The moment Rook receives your oversized sweater he pounces into the bushes, emerging with a trashing yarn ball and boasting about catching a massive fulvous hare;
— the male bought you several pricey sweaters of your choice in compensation to that ruined one, but you still give him a side eye and reluctantly share your long warm scarf with him ever since that day;
— asking for Rook's clothes can be tricky, because if you were to do so when he was still in Savanaclaw dorm you would only find dirty tatted things instead of shirts and pants. Some things were straight up ripped to shreds which made you feel concerned about your boyfriend well-being;
— there are not many interesting choices in Pomefiore Rook's closet, save for a few hats adorn by feathers and his dorm uniform itself which he gladly gives to you to wear. On a condition that he gets to take an abundant amount of photos with you! Your boisterous boyfriend can't just get enough of you can he?
Epel
—the calmest of the three. Country boy haven't even noticed you wearing oversized things for an extremely long while. It's pretty common to wear whatever you want in his village, Epel himself has worn his father's overalls, shirts and denim jackets, which were bigger than what he was accustomed to. Honestly, he didn't even know what "oversized" meant prior to joining Pomefiore;
— the male was quite envious of the fact that you could dress however you preferred. If he were to wear a hoodie, especially if it was even one size bigger, he would be forced to get an earful from Vil... Speaking of his dorm leader, Epel stopped inviting you over to his dorm precisely because he didn't want you to be scolded;
— once petite male became your boyfriend and got comfortable enough with your presence, he started feeling content in your room, going as far as to call it his second home. One day, Epel had gone bored waiting for you to come back so he scanned the room in search of something engaging when his gaze fallen on your chair;
— there was one of your oversized hoodies, resting on the furniture. Curiously got better of him and the lavender haired boy got up from your bed and pulled the clothing on himself. Epel thought that it would make him seem bigger yet it has done the opposite!! His frame looked even smaller in your hoodie, it resembling more of a dress with how it was reaching past his knees;
— if the first word you say upon seeing him is "cute" your boyfriend will most likely shriek and try to undress himself with all of his might. He doesn't want you to remember him as frail and small damnit! He was supposed to be strong and reliable looking guy!
— shortly speaking, it's Epel who will steal your clothes while you two are alone, occasionally though. Unless you happen to be even smaller than him: expect to be given his clothes frequently, he loves seeing his partner look tiny in his already small attire. It gives him this strange feeling of smugness;
— country boy requested his grandma to make an apple themed sweater for you in hopes of the two of you visiting his home on winter breaks. Epel even considered knitting you a huge woollen scarf with yarn he got from his relatives, almost giving up on the idea at one point;
— knitting is not masculine, he doesn't want anyone and especially you see him doing something girlish...Thanks to his observant vice dorm leader who encouraged the male and unwittingly hinted to inform Vil of Epel's views on knitting, you were presented a cute but a bit crudely knitted scarf from your flustered but relieved with your positive reception boyfriend.

Hello dude, what's up lol. I haven't done that many requests so I hope I don't mess this up. Can you write some comfort regarding a disabled trans FTM reader and the kid pirates, mainly involving Kid and Killer? All platonic. I know it's quite specific but the pain of my cEDS is killing me right now and I'd be great to read something along those lines. Being trans and crippled can lead to a lot of dissociation regarding your body, it feels foreign to you in an extreme and debilitating way, what better than to cope with my two favorite fictional characters lol
Tumblr media
Kid Pirates with a trans!disabled!reader
Includes: The Kid Pirates , FTM Reader with cEDS
Important Info: I AM NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. I took a long time researching this so I hope it's accurate.
A / N: Awww I hope you feel better :((. I did a LOT of research for cEDS and I REALLY hope I you the facts right. Please , please comment or message me if I got any information wrong or anything of the sort.
Tumblr media
None of them truly understood you. You were strong , so why did you try not to fight ?
The first person to ask you about it was Killer. You explained to him that you had cEDS and he was confused as hell.
You explained the symptoms. You bruised easily , your skin is velvety / dough like , minor trauma can split your skin , etc. You explained that being in fights could put you at risk.
You also explain what it was.
He understood. He was more that willing to accommodate for you. He wasn't a monster. A pirate , yes. But not a monster.
Anytime anything happened , he was there. He made sure to assist you as much as he could without making you depend on him. You were your own person after all. He knew you wouldn't like it if he babied you.
Kid caught on and asked Killer about it. You were strong , so why was he acting this way with you ??
Killer tried his best to explain your condition and why he did the things he did. Kid still didn't understand.
Killer had to explain it in dumb terms for him to understand. At that , he also tried to help.
You were part of his crew. He may not say it much , but his crew means everything to him. Especially you and Killer since you 3 were childhood friends.
The crew learned from Killer as well and did their best to help while also trying to make you feel like yourself.
Killer was your go - to whenever you were in pain or felt dysphoric. He would sit with you for however long you needed him to and would comfort you as best as he could.
It was during one of these sessions that he learned about you being trans.
He may not have shown it , but he felt a sense of pride at the fact that you were so trusting in him.
Kid wasn't the best at comforting words , but he did sit with you and Killer sometimes. He let's you hangout in his office while he tinkers with whatever thing he's working on.
It's then that you guys get into deeper conversations.
He also learns you're trans but doesn't know what the hell it is. You had to explain you were a girl and now , you're a guy. Top surgery or not , he silently promised himself that he would make sure everyone respected you for the gender you went by.
If anyone said anything about your disability or gender , he'd beat the shit out of them.
Even if he wasn't good with comfort , he was willing to defend his friend to the ends of the world.
So was the rest of the crew.
They would help you as best as they could. They adored you and cared about you , so why would they not ?
Heat and Wire would be the ones to help you whenever you went through any pain or dysmorphia because of feminine issues.
Killer and Kid , however , we're your go to whenever it came to any body related stuff.
They would talk to you like you were on the same level as them. Not any less and not anymore. You felt like you truly belonged to the Kid Pirates.
When it came to fights , you were benched. You were more of a strategist and mixologist.
Though you are different from them , Kid and Killer truly care for you. You 3 are childhood friends. They would never give you up because of your own problems.
One time , you guys went to a bar and you got harassed. They grabbed your wrist and you bruised REALLY fast.
Because of that , Kid and Killer beat the person's ass and held you by their side for the rest of the night.
In their eyes , you're one of them. It doesn't matter if you struggle with something or not. Theres always someone to help you and they would never leave you alone.

TOP THINGS I'M EXCITED FOR IN THE NEW RTD RUN
getting the obvious out of the way, ncuti gatwa
but more specifically, ncuti gatwa is going in with such an exciting awareness of what he got out of doctor who and how that will inform his take
and both he and millie gibson are firmly taking doctor who into the next generation. I don't know a lot about her (and youknow, I'm getting older, so she seems awfully young, but that's really all I know and isn't enough to form an opinion on -- but susan vibes? hoping she won't be a rose!repeat, but I really really don't think that's the intention here), but gatwa is also next!gen whovian (like me), which is very fun. it's a nerdy show, I like it when nerds are involved
the wardrobe is looking so goooood. three also had quite an extensive repertoire especially, and this feels quite closely aligned with that campness (not specifically the exact style ofc, new doctor, but Vibes)
the other obvious out of the way, dtennant and catherine tate
specifically that there's a lot of potential in the 60th anniversary to properly wrap up ten's and donna's arcs in a way that organically interacts with the previous ending they had. some really fun potential to play with theme and genre in that, I'm a sucker for recontextualisation, and for dtennant having a bad time (but then maybe at the end... an okay time?)
I hope this will also more effectively merge the rtd run with moffat's and chibnall's. they did do a bit more of that as they went along, but I think they both went too hard on the reset button (especially moffat). we did then get some more... what I'll call continuity, but it took a bit (look, I know, the continuity is madness on this show, but I like to know it's the same story at least, and not totally excise what came before)
also donna has a kid now, played by yasmin finney. I'm excited for all of that, the fact that she's called rose, casting yasmin finney, another form of bringing it into the present, rather than it being all about the past, the fact that she's teased in the trailer, but there's so much more to see
speaking of casting -- camp and queerness! so many of the casting announcements have been queer actors, and you know rtd loves queering shit up, and he's got soooo much more freedom to do so now than he did in 2005. It won't just be in the casting, it'll be in the stories and the character-writing
references to classic!who and other dw!materials, as always, and of course rtd loves that. I just like how much of nu!who is having fun with classic!who. and updating it of course
I said it before but. I like watching dtennant be upset. he does it very well. perhaps even tears who knows...
EDIT: CONSIDERING THE NEW THEME SONG REVEAL ALSO FORGOT TO SAY MURRAY GOLD'S MUSIC!!!
some things I'm hoping for:
that the continuity of the last series won't be severed, especially in regards to the various regenerations that have been since ten
similarly that ten's arc interacts both with how they died/what happened with donna, and that they've been other bodies since then and so there has been growth and change, but what does that mean to a multi-lifed being?
that ruby and the doctor won't have a romantic will-they-won't-they and that generally the doctor continues to be a character through which those sorts of things can be interrogated (perhaps more deliberately now than in the past....)
that there will be some more ideas about gender, as has been increasingly played with over the last few years
that ncuti gatwa being black influences the kinds of stories being told in regards to what kind of history and future is important
that rose's part in the specials is important (I mean, even the fact that she's donna's kid is already important, but on her own as well -- that she gets something cool to do)!
that UNIT won't be toooo involved. I'm currently watching three from the start and I remember that UNIT does a lot in that one, and that's fine, I get that there's precedent. but also they're not my favourite part of DW, generally the doctor being associated with Institutions of a military nature. makes sense for three, who's relatively trapped on earth, and I like the way it's one of humanity's ways of reacting to alien life both in classic and nu!who, but never trust military. anyway, UNIT's fine for the specials, also ties in previous seasons with kate, but hoping won't be so much in ncuti gatwa's arcs. or that there's more conflict involved with them being involved
that new writers are brought onboard, especially women, black writers, and millennials
that it'll still be sincere. that it won't suffer from irony poisoning and over-reliance on references (don't think the latter is so much the issue), and that the bigger budget won't erode its ability to tell deeply personal intimate person stories, which has been an issue over the last few years and could be a problem in future. this isn't the show of massive explosions and michael by action, it's the show or a bunch of nerds who want to see practical effect aliens and cry about them

Regarding that whole terf being like "I can totes tell which is a real vulva just by looking at it" thing, people are covering the transmisoginy but I've noticed no one is talking about how anti-porn views are playing into how this terf views bodies
Like, their is clearly a reactionary "only bigger inner labia are real, everything is surgical" thing going on here which obviously stems from the (legitimate!) Complaints about lack of genital diversity in porn (and inner labia size was a huge point of discussion a few years back). And like, radfems being radfems, decided at the time that the appropriate response was to decide anyone with this more favoured-by-mainstream-porn kind of vulva are evil and should be mocked and probably got surgery (even if they didnt) which makes them a traitor to women etc etc
And this is not to say that this specific instance is actually an attack on anyone but trans women (though the "real vs fake women" narrative *is* something also applied to sex workers of any gender, including cis women, by radfems) but rather I feel it is something to be aware of especially considering how anti-sex work sentiment affects overly sexualised groups (trans women) and groups who engage in sex work more frequently (also trans women)

i LOVE the way you draw moira! Especially how you depict her as a gnc woman with top scars. I was wondering if you have any specific headcanons regarding her gender/presentation/transition?
thank you! i dont particularly have too many headcanons, i relate a lot of my own feelings on my gender onto her though, so most of what i say is just my own experiences? For example, her primary pronouns are she/her, its what anyone who relatively knows her refers to her as, however when it comes to people she barely knows or strangers, any pronouns work. when someone knows your pronouns, especially those who dont explore gender at all.. they do perceive you differently. I think she hates being perceived as 'woman' to strangers, in a sense that she doesn't like being treated differently just because of her gender. She does get a certain enjoyment seeing people stumble over themselves trying to figure out what to refer to her as without having to blatantly ask her, though, likes to watch them squirm. She doesn't like being called ma'am or miss, but likes to be called sir, and to have partners call her handsome. She doesn't like accentuating her body in an overly feminine way, but does like to wear the occasional dress and makeup, though she is most comfortable in a suit. She likes being the proverbial man in the relationship, planning out the dates, toting her partner around on her arm. She would never turn down her partner planning anything though, she just doesnt ask for it. Sexually as well, I think in most scenarios she is a stone top, doesn't get much out of being touched herself and much prefers tending to her partners needs. I've seen before that people lean her towards butch more often than gnc but i never could see her referring to herself as butch.. she plays with both. She is very comfortable in her body and likes being in control of how she is perceived to outsiders.

Hello ! I kinda have rough time and I would like to request a comfort short work from you because I really like how you write 🥺 it's really specific so feel free to reject it !
So my request is either an ot8 "reaction" or only chan, the plot is reader having some ptsd regarding water/pool and skz trying to "heal" it with building sweet and calm moment with reader
Sorry if it's too specific or if you dont feel comfortable enough to talk about ptsd you can ignore if you do ! ♡
baby steps

water. it terrifies you to no end. after a certain traumatic event that happened a period of time ago, you've been petrified of water since; especially pools.
your body would freeze, hands clammy and a sense of insecurity would hit. your fight or flight mode activates resulting in you fleeing from the scene to calm down your erratic breathing.
chan loves the water. he would spend every single minute in the water if he could. he often spoke about how he would surf the waves back in Australia, how invigorating it was to him and how much he misses it.
you never told chan about your trauma with pools and water, feeling that it's a silly thing to be scared of. it's just water, right? but to you, it's something much more fear inducing.
chan would often invite you out to the swimming pools or offer to have a dip in the lake on a hot summers day but you always refused by making up excuses; but there's only so many excuses you can make before chan slowly starts getting suspicious.
he noticed the little things. when he would sleep over at your place, he often noticed how it would take you that extra bit longer in the bathroom, how you have no bathing suits and then the excuses would come in every time he would suggest going to a pool or lake.
he didn't press about it though and that's one of the many reasons why you love chan. he's caring and wouldn't do anything to make you feel uncomfortable. in the back of his mind, he wishes you would tell him and open up but he knows whatever it may be is a big deal to you and him pressing and forcing you to speak about it would only push you away.
“can i ask you something?” you look up at chan from across the table as he wipes his mouth clean from food. you swallow your own before speaking.
“ask away.”
“why don't you want to go swimming with me?” you freeze. your heart creeping its way up to your throat. you stare at your plate of food as a cold sweat coats your body quickly. you clench your jaw a few times as excuse after excuse rushes through your mind.
“i just don't feel like it. why?” you saw with a forced smile. chan raises his brow slowly as he puts down his silverware.
“babe. we've been together now for a few months. you know you can tell me anything, right?” his voice soft and comforting which makes you feel guilty.
to him, he sees it as you not wanting to swim with him or spend time with him, simply brushing him off when he asks but to you, it's so much more. you understand that he might be doubting himself as a person and a partner to you but you've tried.
you've tried so many times to tell him about your trauma but when the time felt right, it just wasn't and you'd shrink back into your shell and swallow it all back down, allowing it to fester and morph into something bigger until it's suffocating to you.
with a heavy sigh, you place down your silverware before looking at your significant other. you close your eyes as you swallow down your heart that's creeped up to your throat.
“i'm scared of pools, well water to be more precise.” you shakily say as your eyes open. chan's expressions have soften, the self doubt lifting and evaporating. he feels a little silly for assuming the worst, for doubting himself and you in terms of your love for him.
“why baby? tell me only if you feel comfortable though! don't feel forced, you telling me that you're scared is enough.” you give chan a gentle smile as you wipe your clammy hands on your clothing.
“something happened some time ago. it's petrified me and has affected me since...”
you bite down on your bottom lip as chan hums and nods his head. he listens to you speak, taking in every detail and reaching across the table to hold your hand. his thumb stroking the back of your hand which helps calm your nerves as you open up more.
the comfort chan is providing causes you to keep speaking. you talk about your worries, how it happened and how long you have been terrified. chan is providing you with a safe space and you couldn't be more thankful for that.
“i want to get better, i do! i want to be able to go swimming and paddle in the pool. to be able to just relax and not feel so sick and have a panic attack every second.”
“i can help. if you'll let me that is.”
“you will?” you whisper, heart beating against your chest out of fear and excitement.
“of course! we shall start slow of course but if you truly want to get better, i'll help you yn.”
“thank you.. i appreciate it so much chan.”
the first step was to buy a bathing suit and that was a slow and difficult process. the range of colours and patterns overwhelming you to the extreme. you struggle to decide what to pick because you know that once you have bought it, you'd have to put it on and face your fear.
only difference is, is that you're not alone this time.
after picking out a bathing suit, it took a few days for you to pluck up the courage to put it in your bag and go to the local swimming baths. changing into it in the changing rooms, your heart racing and body wanting to leave right now!
but you refuse. you know chan is ready and waiting for you and you don't want to disappoint him. he did say that you should only do this for yourself and not him but you can't help it. plus, knowing that a friendly face is ready and waiting (as well as willing to help) is enough of an encouragement.
you stand by the edge of the pool, chan swimming around as he awaits you. the water is clear and blue, rippling with each movement from chan. the smell of chlorine tickling your nose.
your hands clasped together at your chest, your heart beating a mile a minute. nausea settling in your stomach like a thick blanket as you stare at the water. tears threatening to fill your eyes, your breathing becoming short and fast.
a wet yet warm hand places itself on your shoulder which causes you to jump and look at the hand. your eyes trail up the arm of the person to be met with chan, who's smiling warmly at you. he gives your shoulder a gentle yet reassuring squeeze.
“are you ready, yn?”
“i can't. i really can't.” your voice is small and quivering.
“yes, you can. i believe in you yn. you're stronger than this and you being here, being this close to water is amazing! you're doing so well and i'm proud of you. it shows that you want to get better and not be shackled by this fear.”
“what if i get hurt? or drown?”
“you won't, i'm here and i'll always be here. every step of the way. we take baby steps, ok? and you be vocal with me. tell me how you're feeling and what you're body is telling you.”
“it's telling me to run away right now.” you say with a shaky laugh, trying to lighten the mood. chan chuckles softly before pulling you into his chest.
“do you want to? if so, we can go home. don't feel bad if that's the case, you've made it this far and that's something you should be proud of.”
“i don't want to leave. i want to do this, even if i just dip my feet in the water.” you mumble against his wet skin. chan nods slowly before pulling away. he gets back in the pool, looking up at you as you stare at him.
“why don't we try sitting first, mhm? sit on the side and put your feet in. start small so you can get a feel of the water. maybe that way, it's not too much out of your comfort zone. think you can do that darling?”
you swallow thickly, nodding. chan smiles softly as he swims to the ledge. you shakily lower yourself down, sitting on the side before gingerly letting your feet dangle from the side and into the warm water.
all the while, your body is telling you no. mind telling you to stop and run away. your heart is pounding and the nauseous feeling is back your throat; but you ignore it.
chan's face lights up as he watches you exhale that breath you've been unconsciously holding. he gently places his hand on your thigh, stroking it slowly.
“relax baby. you're ok, i'm here.” you place your hand on top of chan's as he feels your muscles relax under his fingertips.
“how do you feel baby?”
“overwhelmed, but good? i don't know, it's hard to describe. i didn't think i would make it this far.” you splash the water with your feet, grinning at the sounds, smell and feeling of it all.
“all i ever wanted was to feel water on my skin and be in a pool again. i slowly gave up thinking it wasn't possible anymore but look at me, chan.” you giggle as tears roll down your cheeks “i'm in water!!”
“i'm proud of you yn! remember, baby steps and soon, we will have you swimming in pools and being in water comfortably in no time!”

loving the mpreg asks. i think it would be kinda cool, whether it’s sexy or not, because of the long standing tradition that exists regarding pregnancy and body horror, and for genderqueer characters that can be explored in many different ways!
damn i’m really excited for a&m
-🫀
Yeah!! In all seriousness, A&M explores body horror and, specifically, pregnancy as body horror — for the women characters and for one angel character (who explicitly identifies with manhood).
It's meant to be an element of horror and trauma, but I'm not going to pretend like it's not a little fun to joke about. And it's been really really interesting to write! I'm incredibly happy with it! I said a while ago that I figured ABM would be a standalone if it were traditionally published because I feared publishers wouldn't let me publish a book that's so uncomfortably genderqueer (especially if it's already quite problematic — Satan and Michael are gay in it)
I'm really glad I was able to self-publish so I can both continue Michael x Lucifer's story and get really strange about angel gender! It makes me very happy :)

Lol why would someone even say that. Like... idk im transmasc im personally mortified of the idea of getting pregnant but... its none of my business if another man wants to be pregnant why would there be any judgement there 😭😭😭 plus the post was very funny people need to stop projecting over a sillay little post. Have a good night king the haters dont get it
the thing is I totally understand trans guys being uncomfortable with the concept of (trans) men getting pregnant. In our society its a very gendered concept, it gets fetishised by weirdos online all the time and to a lot of (especially queer) afab people its strongly associated with control and abuse. I totally get it. That was me not so long ago but after a lot of research I became more comfortable with it because I want to have children one day. I shouldn't have to expose this part of myself as a defence against people calling me transphobic when I am literally trans and half the fight for trans people is "my body my choice"
what gets me is that the tumblr fallout community gets in this fucking argument allll the fucking time over whether the fallout universe should be "dark and gritty and ~realistic~" in regards to Everyone being transphobic Or if the wasteland should be some kind of trans haven without the binds of society. I personally lean on the latter and get a lot of comfort out of the idea that the Great Khans specifically are a bastion of trans joy and experience and to them women having dicks and men giving birth is just. normal.
the end goal for trans people should be to de-gender concepts like pregnancy and penis but we're never gonna fucking get anywhere if trans people project their dysphoria onto each other and start self-flagellating themselves whenever someone steps out of line or makes a stupid joke.
And yeah this is an overreaction to someone critising a stupid post of mine but I'm more mad at the wider culture of the fallout community (and tumblr) regarding this topic because like I said shit like this keeps happening. part of my job is about educating people about trans bodies and saying shit like "don't assume who can and can't get pregnant" and trying to help fellow trans people find comfort in a country that's actively trying to get them all murdered. To then log onto tumblr dot com and get called transphobic because I said I love headcanoning Papa as trans and him being able to deflect the Legion's misogyny because of his transness is like a slap to the face. you guys are meant to be the transgender love website what the fuck are you talking about?? Also Saying that I'm enabling transphobia by allowing people who arent trans men to reblog my post is also stupid and for the record most people in my notes right now are either trans people who are genuinely agreeing that Papa is trans or ghost fans who think I'm talking about their band (but are still trans and still agreeing).
sure maybe I should have put a trigger warning on the post or something because it might trigger someone's dyphoria, but just say that. Don't act like I'm the problem and that I'm too stupid to recognise internalised transphobia and calling me "too comfortable with joking about trans bodies" when 1. I wasn't joking About trans bodies and 2. ITS MY FUCKING BODY
My joke was about how Caesar cant handle Papa being trans. it was a joke about how society cant handle trans people who they can't clock. it was also a joke about how Papa comes from a society where transness is so normalised that he wrongfully assumes that its something everyone can do. At no point was I "nasty about trans bodies" like this person claims I was. In fact I think that pretending that I was says more about how they view trans bodies than it does about how I do, That I can mention trans pregnancy and they automatically assume I'm fetishing or being disrespectful.
anyway. that's a lot of shit. thanks for letting me ramble and tucking me into bed so sweetly <3

alr fucker ill bite
im trying 2 understand the absolute fuckin brainrot that is terf ideology solely so i can explain to people who actually want to make an effort to not be bigoted not fall into your pipelines. i do this already. but i wanna be more thorough and get screenshots and examples for specific questions. ill do a lil back and forth, but you wont be convincing me that all trans women are pedos n rapists and that we need to detransition people en mass and that trans people are delusional. i have a series of questions, if you consider yourself a terf please try and actually answer them, in a way that actually explains your thought process and isnt just calling me slurs because thats most of the discourse on this site. -------
how do you mentally justify the contridiction in "male and female brains have no difference and women are just as capable as men" (true and real) and "men are fundimentally more violent/ women less violent" besides just blatently liking sexism so long as it hurts men and not women (blatently harmful and bigoted just with a #girlpower coat of paint)
if its a socialization issue, how does female seperatism nessisarily help that? shouldnt the goal then to not treat women as an other, and to not define people based on biological characteristics? while biological differences exist they dont affect your mental or phisical capabilities in anything (in regards to biological sex atleast). wouldnt it be more helpful to treat it as simply a medical thing? like a blood type or something? and treat genital preference as just the same as any other random aesthetic preference in partners like, idk, liking fat people or likeing brown hair what is it about gender based oppression that makes you think that its the men that are the problem and not the whole gender thing, because its men thinking that women are fundimentally different alien creatures because we literally define people by their genitals and constantly talk about how your genitals make you fundimentally different then the "opposite". an ACTUALLY HELPFUL soution should be talking about how like, yeah! some of us look different, but thats like? fine? we are people. who cares whats in that person pants. and if your answer is that thats unrealistic and will require hundreds of years of societal change (true) why is your approach to double down on men and women being fundimentally different and not to like? work? twards something objectively better and less discriminatory? most of what terfs are known for is bigotry and thats not some crazy coincidence, its because your sexism (though you love to label it otherwise) naturally leads to transphobia. its because the core of your ideology is bigotry. women shouldnt be discriminated against cuz you are? fucking people? with the exact same capabilities, you do not deserve more/less praise more/less accountablitity more/less agency. infact id argue that this bending over backwords to try and exclude people you deem as men is why radfems are so much more of a pushover to conservatives. your willingness to go on and on about how biological differences make you a fundimentally different person just so you can rant about how men are all ugly evil penis havers just lets you be suseptible to violent reactionary shit by conservatives. regardless of where you come from politically, this applies to BOTH of us, if you refuse to really think deeply and critically about why you hate the things you do and why you like the things you do, and instead operate on gut reactions and absorbing politics from people on tumblr SOMEONE from SOME IDEOLOGY is always trying to take advantage of that. and transphobia IS violent reactionary shit, most the time i see transphobia especially against trans women its based entirely on appearance, people jumping all over themselves to body shame her for not being enough of a woman, talking about how gross and disgusting she is for wearing a dress or for having a deeper voice. why is this body shaming ok so long as you deem someone a man? attatching morality to appearance is just a blatently bad idea and its frankly gross how little so many of you are willing to critique that.
-----
whats your explaination for the tonal dissonance between "i dont want trans people dead and im not violent" and painting trans women as "always being men with terrible intentions who cosplay as women to have an excuse to rape and assault people"
because while you may not directly say "i think all trans people should be murdered" and you do it in a roundabout way with "all trans people are rapists and all rapists should be murdered" that does still say "i think all trans people should be murdered", just with extra steps. and are you aware that this is the exact retoric used by colonizers to justify genocide and slavery? painting black people as "savages and rapists"? whats your justification for painting a large group of people as fundimentally evil and violent, and how nessasarily is it somehow different then the retoric used to oppress any other marginalized group? + if its a "but im right!" consider this is also what a rapist or an antisemite or a mysogenist would say, and why you are parroting the exact same thing. like do you genuinely actually think that having a boy brain, or more testosterone, or a penis, makes you a rapist and a pedofile? really? and again if you agree with me that its a socialization issue why! dont you! treat it that way!! if you mean one thing, SAY THAT! and FIGURE OUT WITCH ONE OF THOSE YOU BELIEVE. because you cant fuckin have it both ways! if you wanna say that we shouldnt be treating women as stupid vile little vagina having worms (real and true) then like, you cant ALSO be like oh i also think we should be treating men as stupid vile little penis having worms >:) hehe i am so progressive and counter culture ignore all the horrific damage that catagorizing people like that has had i think it will be funny when we do it with men you see.
-----
what is with this insistance that people define themselves based on whats in their pants, like if having a pussy is just having a pussy thats fuckin fine alr but if you start insisting that people make that their ENTIRE PERSONALITY and that if you have one you HAVVVEEEE to have only a specific subsection of names and you HAVEEEE to be called a woman and use she/her and shit
like girl it is just words, who gives a fuck, if a guy says hey i wanna change my name to this girl name cuz it sounds cool as fuck its like! yea! hell yeah brother! and if hes like actually i prefer more feminine words to refer to me :) its like! hell yeah sister! how does that hurt fuckin anyone. is using words so hard 4 u. and before you be like ooOOuuyhghhg IM NOT DEFINING PEOPLE BASED ON THEY ARE PUSSY how is catagorizing people based on their chromosomes / genitals / appearance (and lets be honest here. its mostly appearance but you use chromosomes and genitals so you can pretend theres some kind of science proving that youre right, there is no chromosome detector 3000 for real life) not flattening them? like genuinely how the fuck do you justify that. you have to go to a different bathroom you have to go to a different doctors office you have to go to a different sports team all because i assume that your chromosomes and your genitals make you eaither unsafe or violent or constantly in need of protection and fundimentally less capable. terfs love to constantly insist that gender is whatever and then constantly try to force people to define themselves by their biological sex? why is whats in MY pants any of your fucking buisness? unless im at a gynocology appointment you dont need to know shit. all of this girlsgirlsgirlsgirls stuff what if you dont wanna be called a fuckin girl? what if i find it weird that you profile people and assume things about them because of their body? if gender is whatever why do you HAVE to be a male or a female. why do i have to fucking put my biology out on display for people to assume things about me based on? because i KNOW you assume things based on peoples biological sex and i KNOW you think more or less of people based on their biological sex thats half the ideology! why do you think every trans women is a sexist mysogenist who woke up one day at 24 and decided she was gonna be a girllll and wear dresses so she could opress woemennn moreeeee, why do you assume all trans men were groomed and exploited and brainwashed into thinking that theyre boys because of mysogeny and not cuz sometimes? being called a dude feels good? having a dick feels good? having a flat chest feels good? using he him or whatever the fuck feels good??? rad fem shit is just, sexism repackadged, do you never see the similarities? do you never see the fine print? that the core ideology is the same? this is just mysogeny again! like women are always the victim and men are always the perpetraitor. is just women have fundimentally less agency and men more agency women do bad things because theyre dumb and men do bad things because they had a good reason to. is just women have fundimentally less agency and men more agency please explain how that ISNT just the same mysogenist veiwpoints with a hashtag girlboss coat of paint. and this isnt me projecting mysogenistic right wing ideas onto you, i wrote all this stuff while looking through "radfem101" "terf reference guide" "things TRA's need to get thru their heads" posts. theres a reason people get them confused, ive been told these exact same things time and time again by alt rights and conservatives and mysogenists. so witch are you? why do you agree on so much?
-----
how do you deal with the whole, not wanting womens genitals to be constantly policed and have that be all that defines them (true and real) and the very real fact that there is no chromosome detector 3000 and if you want to create "female only spaces" you realistically are eaither going to have to subject billions of women on a daily basis to sexual harrassment to see if they are "real women" or do it just based on appearance. witch is enevitibly going to cause a disproportionate ammount of hate and violence twards black, gnc, and intersex women for not being "women" enough. something that is already happening, because trying to give rigid requirements for what looks like a woman and what looks like a man is always going to impact these groups disproportionately, you know its gonna be based off of like a white skinny cis girl! and uh! not all women are that!
and assuming there is a chromosome dectector 3000 in the future, a) intersex people b) trans men exist, and while im sure you can argue day and night about how they arent real men and phallo dicks are just a mutilated skin tube or whatever half of what you guys talk about is how you feel unsafe being in the same bathroom as someone who "looks like a dude" and who has a penis. considering the strictness in needing 100% gender conformity in trans women im sure the exact same people wouldnt be comfortable with a trans guy eaither, if youd feel ok just so long as they had the right reading on the chromosome dectector 3000 then all this talk about trans women being violent cuz penis and body hair and testosterone is just bullshit. and sense terfs love to play hypotheticals with 100% cis dudes just telling people theyre girls so they can get through the female bathroom security (a thing that totally exists believe me guys) (and also yeah telling a police officer that youre "just a trans girl" would totally actually help you in a legal case dont google trans panic defence shhhhhh its ok its ok, statistics you dont read from "xxvaginawomxngirlfucker" arent real its ok,,) couldnt a cis dude just lieeee about being a trans man? whos saying nobody can lie about my chromosome detector 3000 score! are you gonna put a bouncer in the female bathroom security gates? and like, where do trans people even pee then. we just rename the mens bathroom to the trannies and mysogenists room? the biologically more violent room? yeah lets shove a bunch of little intersex girls into the violent mysogenists room, she had body hair and a harsher jawline and that scared me so im lumping her into the room with all the people i think are pedos and rapists, she will feel totally ok about this and this wont effect her perception of herself, this wont enforce gender roles and make women having a complex about being feminine enough worse. women can be anything! except anything i think looks like a guy. so women can be feminine and nothing else :) but women can be anything i put in this super limiting box! i genuinely cannot imagine a world where this doesnt dramatically worsten sexual phisical and emotional violence against literally everyone.
and to say again. im not looking for quirky rebloggable snapbacks to each of my points i want you 2 put an equal ammount of effort as i did scrolling terflandia and writing all this up. so dont just call me a delusional tr-nny i want you to give me like. atleast a little substance here. something to chew and bite and pick apart

In Greek Mythology, Elpis was the personification and spirit of hope. She was the daughter of Nyx, the personification of night, and the mother of Pheme, the goddess of fame and rumour. 𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - These people are the joys of their community. They think positively, and so they are the ones who uplift others through their words and communication. It may manifest in the stories they write or the books they love to read. Their siblings may be their sources of hope. Also, they may hope to have high grades in school and achieve specific academic goals. People in their school and neighborhood may see them as someone hopeful.
𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - Their family, especially the mother, is their immense source of hope. They give hope to others by nurturing their emotions. It can manifest in other people or themselves. Also, they are hopeful about their home life and problems or issues concerning the family. These people may also aspire to build their own families in the future. They may also channel hope by embracing their femininity and incorporating it into their lives. No matter what gender.
𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - These people are hopeful about expressing themselves. They gather hope through intrinsic artistic creations such as listening to music, watching theaters, and painting. Other forms of art and entertainment can also motivate this person. It may also be a huge indicator of a hopeless romantic. Those who have had bad experiences may believe that there's still hope in love. They may also be hopeful about their partner and child/children (if there were any).
𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - This person's hope is based on how they can be of service to others. They bring hope through volunteerism and helping those in need. Also, they may be hopeful when it comes to their body and diet. They are optimistic when it comes to fulfilling their fitness goals. When they are physically and mentally healthy, they feel hopeful in general. They may also have high hopes about their work routine and aspires to have a quality work-life balance. Because of this, they often leave an impression of someone hopeful on their coworkers.
𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - These people have a balanced and harmonious relationship with other people. In times of argument, they may be seen as someone who constantly looks for the positive side of things and makes it out for the other person. They have an optimistic approach to business, from when it started until it faced hardships and challenges. They may also aspire to be married to someone in the future. Their partners, romantic or not, may see them as someone optimistic. They generally have high hopes when it comes to partnerships.
𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - (TW: Slight Mention of Death) These people are the types who are hopeful when it comes to letting go of the past and making room for a better present or future. It may also indicate that they hope to gain inheritances, investments, and passive incomes as the 8th house govern these themes. They may also aspire to have a peaceful death. They wish to know themselves and others on a deeper level. Aside from that, they hope for intimacy in all areas of life. It includes vulnerability, openness, and sharing.
𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - I believe that it is a benefic placement for Elpis as it rules inspiration and optimism. It is a definition of “faith, hope, and luck.” These people provide hope through their wisdom and intuition. Some have impacted other people's lives and sparked hope through teaching. Being hopeful is part of their morals and ethics in life. They bring hope wherever they go. It may also indicate that such people hope to expand their philosophies in life through teaching or learning law and religion. It may also show being hopeful when it comes to gambling.
𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - Their father, or an authority figure, is their immense source of hope. These individuals may appear as someone hopeful in public, even if they are not. They hope to obtain significant fame and achievements that will bring them honor and a notable reputation. They have high hopes when it comes to their career path. They will not give up on pursuing their goals no matter what happens. Some have their hopes restricted or repressed. Someone might have told them that having high hopes will only set them up for disappointments and defeats, so they tend to limit their hopes to avoid pain later.
𝐀𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐩𝐢𝐬 (𝟓𝟗) 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 - ADORABLE. Another great placement. This house is associated with the future, our hopes, and our ideals. They carry such high hopes for society. Either their friends may be their sources of hope, or they are the ones who give hope to their friends. They may use the power of social media to spread hope. They are hopeful when it comes to humanitarian pursuits. They hope to address societal issues through their innovative and revolutionary insights. They hope for the betterment of the oppressed. You can rarely see these people give up on making their wishes happen.

However, it does not necessarily mean that these people are hopeless. They dream and hope big. It is just more subtle but felt nonetheless. It may show in their artistic expressions such as poetry, art, and writing. They have high hopes when it comes to spirituality. Their sources of hope maybe the wisdom of the elders. They hope to heal and let go of their fears. They aspire to discover the unknown and learn more about the afterlife.

My personal experience with ADD/autism/hrt: Anxiety/depression/OCD overlap heavily with ADD/autism. "brain" medications meant for neurotypicals do not work if you have ADD because you need stimulants (try different molecules if you dont like how it feels) I'm on 80mg/week subQ testosterone which improved most of my menstrual issues (I have endometriosis) but they did not disappear until I had a hysterectomy at 10 months on T. I can't speak for the other issues you're dealing with, but your body and emotions are far more interconnected than most people assume, and gender affirming care can be both life changing and life saving. I hesitate to say you have the exact same flavor of ADD+autism as I do because theres a lot of stigma around diagnosis, but understanding my autism specifically has been integral to my ability to survive and heal. I especially encourage you to look into how autism and OCD overlap. Also, I have been following you for years now. I have a deeply genuine and intense admiration for your autistic swag. Your passion and skills are breathtaking. You are one of my favorite artists. The horrors are endless but. we stay silly.
Oh I'm on anxiety, OCD, and ADHD medication all together because for ADHD I use atomoxetine which isn't a stimulant, so I can still take the other medications and they have the intended effect.
But also I know that ADHD symptoms and medication can have a lot of varying effects from person to person, so stimulants may be all that works for some and in that case yeah, the stimulants can screw with other meds unfortunately.
And regarding how much gender affirming care can effect you psychologically: oh man, yeah, that's the wild card and also the most wholly exciting concept for me. The thought maybe some of my constant miasma of anxiety could just go away...life could be dream...
And thanks! But I'm pretty sure I'm not autistic? I've looked into it several times and I just truly don't think I have enough of the symptoms? But you are now the second person to assume I'm autistic... 🤨
There is at least one person in my family who Im preeeetty sure is autistic, POSSIBLY two, so maybe I come off that way just because that perspective is different from mine but still super normal to me & I try to take it into account when I communicate?????? shrug!!!
but also WAUGHH THANK YOU IM GLAD YOU LIKE MY STUFF‼️‼️ 🥺💚 IT'S AN HONOR 🫡
