Hi all!! It’s been a minute :D PLEASE bear with me I have so much I wanna say😭 Here’s a bunch of a traditional doodles I’ve whipped up recently, I also added an aggie piece I did of Iggy :3

BUT FIRST PSA, i had a name change on here! I was previously “koopaling-enthusiast” (in case some of my followers are confused😭),, i changed my insta account to the same username as my current too (wackiwhimsi) :3 … I wanted a change to include my sona’s name (who hopefully in the coming months i can finally post on here🥳)

ALSO ALSO GUHHH,,, AS U CAN SEE IGGY IS MY HYPERFIX NOW,!,!!!! U_U i just can’t stop drawing him man!! as a fellow silly person, i must do my due diligence in drawing the silly as well :D (he rlly does live in my brain though,, a rent free tenant SMH…. But i don’t have it in my heart to kick him out mannn!!!! Cx) OH HES ALSO MY MAIN IN MK8 NOW SO THATS BEEN PRETTY FUN TOO!!! :3

If i’m being 100% transparent, I’ve also kinda been going through it recently in terms of my art…sometimes I feel like I’m not improving at the rate I want to be :c But!!! Recently i’ve also been hearing extremely kind, supportive words from friends/supporters, and that’s what’s been keeping me going☺️ gave me a huge confidence boost. yall know who you are!!! <3 The support means SO MUCHHH more to me than you could ever imagine. Koopaling luvrs unite!!!

Also!!! I’ve getting more art supplies recently, experimenting with acrylic paint markers, prismacolors, copics, and so much more. Excited for how this can help me translate all of the other countless koopaling visions i have in my brain at the moment (and boy do I have A LOT😅)…. Hm, I also find that I’m more creative when I’m drawing in my backyard/when I’m outside so that’s what I’ve been doing :)

AU Where Reader Is A Punk Rock Musician.

Colby was looking at his phone, scrolling through instagram when he saw a familiar name, someone he'd known in high school. M/N L/N. He looked at the account, and noticed the pictures.

He was shocked to see that M/N was doing good, even better then Colby imagined. He saw that M/N had started a music career, which he was surprised to see.

He noticed he made music similiar to punk rock. Colby couldn't help but notice the videos and pictures of M/N on his instagram wearing quite attractive outfits, aswell as videos.

Colby quickly sent a friend request, his curiousity getting the better of him.

A few hours had passed, and Colby heard his phone go off with a notification. He looked at the phone, and noticed M/N had accepted his friend request, even sending him a message.

{Username} - Hey, you sent me a follow request, why? I mean you are way more popular on here then me.

{Colbybrock} - Well i just recognized you from high school, you M/N L/N right? I think we went to the same class.

{Username} - Huh, well yeah, i'm M/N, you also pursued a career in social media?

{Colbybrock} - Hahah, yeah, i did, hey maybe if your in LA sometime, we can catch up?

{Username} - I'm actually in LA for a concert i'm doing, perhaps we can take a drink at some cafe in town during the day?

{Colbybrock} - Sounds good! Tomorrow sound good at [insert Cafe name] around 12 pm?

{Username} - Yup, sounds great, see you tomorrow, Brock.

Colby looked at his phone, feeling himself smile. He had no idea why he was doing this, but it felt right to do it. He thought M/N looked so good in the pictures.

Colby decided to listen to some of M/N's songs, feeling himself love them. He enjoyed the way the lyrics worked together, and the beat of the music.

That night he fell asleep listening to M/N's music while thinking about the meetup he would have with him tomorrow during the afternoon.

The morning rolled around, and the time was 11:45 pm, Colby had arrived at the cafe that he and M/N had agreed to meetup. He was looking at his phone while waiting. Soon he heard the doors open to the cafe.

There stood M/N, wearing [Think of something Alt Style clothes you'd wear]. Colby smiled at M/N, and walked over to him. "Hey, M/N, It's Colby, we talked over insta yesterday!" Colby said awkardly.

M/N chuckled, and nodded, "I know, also great spot you picked out." M/N said, and Colby chuckled. "Thanks, i know it's a small cafe so not a lot of people go here, meaning we get more privacy from fans." Colby said, and sat down in a seat across M/N.

"Smart, i mean most people know i'm in town so it's good to see a place where i can get some stuff done in private without being bound to my hotel room." M/N said, and looked at the menu. Colby couldn't help but admire the way M/N looked, his [Hair style] was to die for, and his [Eye color] were beautiful.

Colby sighed, and looked at the menu he'd gotten. "So, how was life for you after high school?" Colby asked, and M/N looked at him. "It was alright, like a year after high school ended i began making songs." He answered, and Colby nodded. "That's cool, i began doing youtube with Sam, remember him?" he asked M/N, and he nodded. "Yeah, Sam Golbach, right?"

Colby laughed and nodded, "Yup, him and i are still best friends." Colby thought about Sam for a moment then looked at M/N, noticing they had made eyecontact. "Uhm-" Colby got tongue tied, and his face heated up.

M/N grinned, raising an eyebrow. "Cat got your tongue?" he said, teasing Colby.

Colby shook his head, and looked back down at the menu. "Nope.." he groaned, and sighed. M/N had noticed his reaction, which he found amusing. "It's cool if you think i'm hot, i mean i think you look good." M/N hummed, and decided what he would order.

"I'm gonna have a [Drink name] and a [Dessert], what about you?" M/N asked, and Colby became peachy pink on his cheeks. He cleared his throat, nervous.

"I'll have a black coffee and a cupcake." he said, and M/N looked at the waitress politely, "One black coffee, one [Drink name], a cupcake and a [Dessert]" M/N said, and the waitress nodded and walked to the kitchen to hand the order to the chefs.

"Did you mean what you said that you find me good-looking?" Colby asked, his voice shaky from embarrassment. M/N nodded and chuckled at Colby, "Yeah, I did." he said and smiled at Colby.

They had spent an hour talking and catching up in the cafe, and now they were walking back to M/N's hotel.

Once they got to the gate to the hotel, M/N looked at Colby and kissed his forehead. "It was nice catching up with you, Brock," he said, then left Colby dumbfounded outside the hotel.

Colby was shocked but happy. He giggled and took a deep breath. He knew he had to call up M/N some day, this was great catching up.

Jimmy: he has an account on instagram, twitter, probably facebook but they’re all mostly like linked to the freak show ykwim like he’d have like a verified checkmark but he only ever posts like freak show related announcements or like every now and then a little video that he records of him and some other ppl in the show behind the scenes and it’s captioned like ‘come see us (enter date here)’ and that’s pretty much it he’s not super big on being active in social media because he claims he has plenty of friends irl he doesn’t need fake robot friends. also may not know how the internet works

James: i mean sally runs the hotels official instagram page and all other socials and he probably has no idea that she’s doing that until he finds out she posted some image of video of him on one of the accounts and then some guests recognize him at the hotel and say like ‘omg ur that guy!!’ and he has no idea what it all means n shit. I think he would get a great kick out of instagram reels like non tiktok but you know how like a month after a trend happens on tiktok then it goes to reels? right like he eats that shit up he thinks its the funniest goddamn thing like funny cat videos or someshit

PSA: Instagram 3d sculptor/art thief

I got "followed" (which does not at all sound like stalking amirite?) on Instagram by some dude. His username is joshexcel2023. He immediately DM'd me to offer his 3D sculpting and scanning services.

Let me back up.

3D scanning is when you take an existing doll or other item, put it on a lazy susan or similar rotating platform, and use your phone to take pictures all the way around. You then use software to compile all the pictures into a 3D print file. It's a fairly straightforward process that's a little fiddly to set up, but then dead simple to do. And yeah, the compiling software is free. Of course it's free.

It's digital recasting. Oh, how recasting has leaped into technology. (hence the semi-doxxing/PSA) It's also why I used to chafe at the 3D printing restrictions on DOA, but I don't anymore. Digital art theft is so easy. So, so easy. No, we do NOT do that shit in this household.

So yeah. Immediately blocked. Bye, bye, my guy. If you Insta, please block. Do not engage. Digital art thief warning.

Side note: Danny Choo (yes, that Danny Choo) has posted promo pics of a new plastic Smart Doll kit whose name escapes me at the moment. He also mentioned releasing free 3D stl files for digital sculptors, so they can create stuff to attach to the shell.

I BEGGED him on Instagram not to release those files. I told him to please consider non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), contracts, and liquidated damages clauses if he does decide to release stl files. If you are on good terms with him, PLEASE consider doing the same. IDC if you hate him. He has a team of employees to support. I do not want to see an entire company whipsawed/destroyed by digital art theft.

man tumblr is just. actively going to shit. i know we've had "going to shit" scares in the past and things have been bad and we've just kinda managed with them, but lately its gotten like...terrible. i dont know how any of this site is gonna come back from this at all. and that makes me very upset b/c ive been here since 2012, i have an incredibly large amount of memories + art stashed on my blogs. ive always come back to tumblr but idk if thatll stay true for much longer. i just dont think with the current Bullshit happening its..sustainable?? as a platform for me anymore.

..which sucks, bc my only other platforms are twitter, insta, and bluesky? we all know twitter sucks major shit. you cant pay me to post my art regularly on insta with that cropping + quality + algorithm. bsky still needs some development and my follower base is WAYYYY lower on there than my other platforms AND theres no dm's yet so i basically cant use it for business as of right now.

i rely on my art business for income completely. i have been getting most if not all of my business from tumblr for a while, so if i have to leave, idk whats going to happen to my business.

some part of me has a little shred of hope that maybe things will get better. we as a userbase have the power of numbers and i believe things CAN get changed for the better if enough of us band together, which it seems like is in the process of happening. but i also dont want to bank on that, and i dont blame a single person who wants to ditch this website for good.

idk. its a tough position for me bc of how i rely on it for income (same reason i still use twitter), but if i didnt have to do that i probably would have left a while ago ngl.

Veteran tumblrer here giving some wisdom to r/196 migrators that I wish someone told me when I joined five years ago:

-Blogs with the default header and pfp are often bots. Every once in a while a barrage of porn bots will follow with some admittedly clever usernames and their bio will be something random like “19😪Chimpanzee💓Florida🪆” so just watch out for that

-Tags only work on original posts, not reblogs. Tags work just like they do on insta or twitter for your original posts, but for reblogs, only use the tags to write feelings or to categorize the posts on your blog. People can’t find you through reblog tags.

-You can block certain tags (settings->general settings->filtering (if you’re on mobile)). Put the same tags for both “filtered tags” and “filtered content.” Any posts with that tag or word will have a warning then.

-Dashboard preferences -> turn off “Best Stuff First”

-Tumblr still hasn’t gotten rid of “Tumblr live” which I think a collective 15 people use on the entire website. There’s no option to turn it off so you have to do it every seven days and it sucks. (Settings -> General Settings -> Dashboard preferences -> Snooze Tumblr Live)

-The little person icon at the top of every blog is where you can block them

-Reblog more often than original post. Especially if you’re reposting memes. Chances are it’s already posted on here. Lot easier for you to find people and people to find you.

-REBLOG!! Even if you don’t have a big following. Leave feelings and comments in tags. Follow back people who follow you who post similar content. Make your own little community of weirdos like the rest of us!!
