hi I had a question about your cannabis post
i don’t know much about cannabis so sorry if I misunderstand smth
but I don’t understand what “safe” drug use implies,, how can drugs be safe? what’s safe drug use??
i probably have a very narrow view on this topic, so id like to know more
on a different note id like to thank you for your content, I feel that ive learned a lot from this account :)) thanks!!!
(feel free to ignore this)
It’s important to first recognize that more things are drugs than we normally consider: alcohol, tobacco, nicotine, caffeine, cannabis, are all drugs just as much as opiates, benzos, etc. Any medication is a drug.
Any drugs have the ability to be used properly and safely as well as the potential to be used negatively or harmfully. Drugs are morally neutral. Even addiction is morally neutral.
Alcohol can be used to cut loose with friends on the weekend, but it can also be used to cause poisoning. Tobacco can be used to calm down after an argument, but it can also cause cancer. Opiates can be used to manage severe pain, and can also cause overdose.
People have always used drugs historically, and in order to survive, people often need them. Using substances can also not just be medically or recreational, there are spiritual and cultural reasons as well. Some people need substances to manage their emotional or mental needs (especially without supports otherwise).
Any drug can be safe. It’s all in how it’s used, as well as within context.
Safe use looks different for everyone, but personally, I try to encourage methods that are harm reduction focused.
Harm reduction can look like:
• Safe supply of substances to ensure that people are getting unlaced stuff.
• Education so people know how to avoid accidental consequences of their use.
• Access to unused syringes or works to prevent blood borne infections.
• Having a designated driver or trip sitter.
• Sitting with someone while they use in case they have negative effects.
• Access to naloxone/Narcan to reverse opioid overdoses.
• Starting with a lower dose and going slow with use to ensure you’re getting the intended effects.
And harm reduction is so much more than just about substances, it’s things like seatbelts in cars and condoms and STI testing. It’s the lesser of two evils and a primary focus of harm reduction is that it keeps people alive above all else.
Some people like to say “harm reduction keeps people alive long enough to get sober” but I personally feel like sobriety isn’t always the solution for everyone, nor is it accessible to everyone.
But yeah, safe use exists, and most drugs ARE used safely every day. That’s what a pharmacist’s whole job is for.
I appreciate this ask, I’m always happy to talk about harm reduction. I co-founded a local harm reduction organization and have done a lot of advocacy around this— everything from reversing ODs, speaking on panels, testifying for bills with the ACLU, training communities on how to administer Naloxone, distributing safe use supplies, etc. I have a lot of personal experience with addiction and feel very passionately about this. I was tired of my friends dying and I just want to make the world a safer place.

for el último shippy saturday, I bring you this snippet of an alternate ending to 'thread-safe' where goro ends up being captured by v and co, and *gestures* also ends up in her bed. also known as the snippet where I may have gotten very close to goro/v/johnny and I'm honestly not sure if it's even a joke anymore. I'm not fluent in spanish, but this should be more or less grammatically correct and the lack of polish here feels ok given that I don't consider that Johnny or Valentine are actually fluent either and are essentially just transliterating their English fight into Spanish so Goro doesn't understand.
<>
Goro wakes to the sound of a whispered argument, and rolls to find Silverhand sitting on V’s other side. The man flashes him a smug smile, which lasts only a second before V flicks him in the knee, ineffectually trying to shove him further away with her palm against his thigh.
“What is it?” Goro demands, slipping his arm under V’s, tucking her in close to his chest. They’re both naked, the thin sheet slung just over their hips their only cover. Yet he can feel V’s muscles tensing, as though she is prepared to throw herself bodily at Silverhand, without even a thought for propriety. “How did you get in here?”
“Got the key,” Silverhand answers, wiggling his fingers.
“Not for long,” V growls.
“Hey, c’mon V–“ His pleading tone makes her sigh. “You can’t just kick me out. Kerry’s the one paying rent.”
“Then why aren’t you with Kerry?” she asks, and Silverhand makes a face.
“It’s nothing. He’s all pissed over nothing.”
“I doubt that,” Goro says, and V elbows him.
“Sleep on the floor,” she says.
“And mess up my back again?” Silverhand asks, patting down his pants before pulling out a cigarette. “I’ll be as quiet as a mouse.”
“No smoking in bed,” V snaps, her hoarse voice cutting in and out with the emphasis. Goro reaches to remove the cigarette from Silverhand’s grip, but V is already out from under the covers and sliding off the bed, grabbing his shirt collar to drag him out. Neither of them seem the least bit bothered by her state of undress. “If you think you’re going to amuse yourself by being an ass you’ve got another thing coming.”
“Oh yeah?” He grips her bicep, pulling her down closer. The smile on his face only grows as Goro moves to his side, reaching to grab the wrist that he is using to hold V. This close the smell of cannabis smoke is overwhelming– overpowering even the stench of sweat and unwashed hair. “You going to sic your guard dog on me?”
“Ayyy,” V exhales, switching to Spanish without ever taking her eyes off of Silverhand. With his translator disabled along with the most of his implants, Goro can only guess at the content of their conversation by tone and expression. The curl of V’s lip and her sardonic air is irritation. “Estás caliente, cabrón? Quizás debes ser mordido.”
“Solo si lo haces,” he replies, flashing Goro a look. Taunting bravado.
“V–“ Goro says, tightening his grip so that Silverhand winces.
“Sabes que me quieres,” Silverhand adds, making V scowl.
“Explícame,” she demands– it is definitely a demand. “Qué lo sigue? Me besas, entonces le besas? No puedes separarnos.”
“Huh.” Silverhand turns to look at Goro, smirking at his lack of comprehension. A child delighting in some simple mockery. “Por supuesto está celoso.”
“Huh,” V mocks in return. “Por supuesto estás drogado.”
“No me gusta el oler del perro.” Silverhand says dismissively, with the flick of his free wrist.
“Then get out of bed,” V snaps, “And get off my dick.”
“You won’t even know I’m here,” Silverhand says, deftly pulling out another cigarette, which Goro takes and tosses to the side with the first. “I’ll be good.”

[Image ID: The COCUINgender flag created by coiner Gent of Gender-Jargon, 2022. The flag consists of seven thin, horizontal stripes of the same size. From top to bottom, the color of the stripes are black, scarlet, plum, violet, teal, jade green and black. /.End ID]
Cocuingender: an umbrella term describing all genders identities that are Countercultural In Nature (COCUIN)
Etymology
The term Cocuingender is constructed to conform to other “-In Nature” terms (Mingender, Fingender, Ningender, Quingender, Roingender, Agingender, Xingender, Cuingender, Oingender, Keingender, etc.)The acronym “COCUIN” is constructed with the “CO” and “CU” of “Countercultural”,  combined with the “I” from “In” and the “N” from “Nature”. The acronym is combined with the neological suffix “-gender”, indicating genderedness. Coined by Gent (Gender-Jargon), 2022.
The sibling term to Cocuingender is Sucuingender.
Elaboration
A counterculture is a (sub)culture with values, beliefs, interests and/or traditions that not only vary from, but stand in opposition to and/or are considered to be incompatible with the larger, prevailing mainstream norm. Rather than describing only variance from a parent culture, such as with a subculture, countercultures also challenge and/or subvert the dominate culture, which may or may not be it’s parent culture.
There are many different countercultures that have existed throughout time and society, all having in common that they are, or are considered to be, irreconcilable with the core values, beliefs and traditions of the given society in some way, shape or form. Subcultures deviate from the norm, and often challenge it, but are not in direct conflict with the very ideology of the parent culture. Some examples of countercultures in the U.S. include, but are not limited to: Hippies, punks, relationship anarchists/ENMs/nonamorists/amatopunks, cannabis culture, the feminist movement, off-the-grid homesteading & self-sufficiency movement, the free & open-source software movement, atheists & secularists, communists, the animal liberation movement, the LANDBACK movement & other decolonization efforts, anarchists, the ecology movement and of course, the LGBT+/Queer/MOGAI/Microlabel community.
Like sucuingenders, cocuingenders are exclusive identities, and as such, may only be claimed by those who participate within the given counterculture. If a counterculture is rooted in a closed culture/community/group/practice/etc. itself, the cocuingender would only be accessible to those capable of the experience. Naturally, the exclusivity of a term is further compounded by any other exclusive identities that intersect with the cocuingender. Some manner of participation in the counterculture, however or whatever that may be, is a requirement for identification. This quality is what separates it from aesthetigenders and other similar types of xenogenders.
Flag
The flag was created by the coiner at the same time as the term itself. The flag consists of seven thin, horizontal stripes of the same size.  From top to bottom, the color of the stripes are black, scarlet, plum, violet, teal and jade green. The colors have the following meanings:
The top and bottom black stripes represents adversity, social othering and holding values and traditions distinct from those held by the mainstream culture.
The scarlet stripe represents inherent defiance and dissent against mainstream values and practices.
The plum stripe represents community, unity and fraternity.
The violet stripe represents subversion and rebellion.
The teal stripe represents survival, necessity and persistence.
The jade stripe represents change, revolution and rebirth.

It's kind of selfish too. I just like it. I'm always looking for the new new shit."
Tumblr media
Erykah has also collaborated with Italian fashion house Marni on a capsule collection which was sold in select Marni boutiques.
"Everything is vibration and sound, from the sound of the birds that I've heard since I was a child...(to) the clothes I wear - the clothes in my Marni line all have bells on them," the Dallas native said. "So, if I associate everything with music, it's very easy for me to create...there's a variety of things I listen to throughout the day, from wind chimes in the morning to Brent Faiyaz in the afternoon to Bach - I mean, there's just so many different things. I just love music and frequency. It is my therapy."
Badu describes the Marni collection as something of an audiovisual experience, what she calls "mystical instrumental wear."
A champion for Black women and free thought, she's not only in an era of reinvention, but expansion. She's entered the cannabis industry partnering with Cookies, arguably the world's most recognizable legal marijuana brand. She's worked with Cookies co-founder Berner to create a weed strain called That Badu, also working on a mushroom tea line.
Although it's been years since Badu put out an album, she has recently gone on tour, called The Unfollow Me tour. In an interview with Vibe, she revealed the inspiration for the name of the tour - cancel culture. "Whenever someone says something in the comments, they don't agree, I don't care, unfollow me, doesn't matter," she told the magazine.
"One thing I brag about all the time is that my sister is probably the only artist I know who easily sells out arenas despite not having put out an album in almost a decade," says sibling Koryan, or Koko for short. Koko once sang backup for Badu's band, but these days acts as her sister's right hand. With a trucker hat pulled over striking waist-length platinum blonde braids, Koko carries herself like a woman who means business. Badu's turning point, she explains, came when the pandemic brought touring to a halt.
The pivot was swift and effective: the launch of Badubotron, a streaming platform hosting concerts from Badu's home that could be viewed for the nominal fee of $1. These attracted more than a hundred thousand fans enamored of Badu's elaborate costumes, wild performances, and otherworldly DIY sets. In one of her shows, Badu and her band appeared to perform inside huge inflatable bubbles. The singer's popular online merch store, Badu World Market, also went live. "We just kind of came together as a family and it was like, Oh, we actually have a company right here," says Koko, whose son, Malcolm, and daughter, Diamond, also work for brand Badu. "Everyone stepped up."
The latest family member to join the team is Badu's daughter Puma. Listening to her cover her mother's songs on TikTok, you can barely tell their voices apart. She and boyfriend Sean have been serving as Badu's personal assistants for a little over a year, which means, among other things, ensuring Badu has the 15 to 20 trunks of clothing and accessories she needs on tour. "I don't know how other family workplace dynamics go," Puma says, "but it's like a real job, and I have to buckle down and do what I need to do or else word is going to get to the CEO and I'm not going to get paid. You know what I mean?"
Inside Badu's home, it's a veritable Aladdin's cave of tchotchkes and objets d'art, with Buddha statues lining the staircase, African masks hanging on the walls, and Indian marigold garlands strung in the windows. Badu, in a silk Libertine caftan printed with pictures of monkeys in space suits, leads her guests past her recording studio to the living area, where two larger-than-life Malian brass busts have glowing sticks of incense sprouting from their heads. The fireplaces casts shadows on vintage furniture, including a throne-like peacock love seat and a retro-futurist egg pod chair. In the corner, an upright piano is buttressed by a stack of vintage Louis Vuitton trunks.

A group of bipartisan lawmakers reintroduced the Secure and Fair Enforcement (SAFE) Banking Act in the House and Senate on Wednesday, after the legislation designed to free up banking services for the cannabis industry stalled in last year's Congress.
The bill, which has been tweaked since last session, was introduced by Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., Rep. Dave Joyce, R-Ohio, and Rep. Earl Blumenauer, D-Ore.
If the critical banking and financial protections advance through committees, they could see a vote on the Senate floor for the first time. The bill, which has always had strong bipartisan support, passed in the House seven times previously.
"For the first time, we have a path for SAFE Banking to move through the Senate Banking Committee and get a vote on the floor of the Senate," Merkley said in a statement. "Let's make 2023 the year that we get this bill signed into law so we can ensure that all legal cannabis businesses have access to the financial services they need to help keep their employees, their businesses, and their communities safe."
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., expressed his support for the legislation on Thursday and said he would work to make sure the legislation includes criminal justice provisions when it reaches the floor.
Cannabis stocks Curaleaf Holdings, Trulieve Cannabis Corp, and Terrascend Corp all rose by double-digit percentages on Thursday. The bipartisan nature of the SAFE Banking Act's reintroduction appeared to boost hopes of more relief to come in the industry.
"The SAFE Banking Act will provide urgently needed relief to cannabis businesses of all sizes and act as a stepping stone to broader reforms," said Matt Darin, CEO of multistate cannabis operator Curaleaf, in a statement after the bill's reintroduction.
Under current federal law, banks and credit unions face federal prosecution and penalties if they provide services to legal cannabis businesses because cannabis is still a Schedule I substance, the same classification as heroin and LSD. Schedule I substances are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse, according to the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
Without access to financial services, state legal cannabis businesses are forced to operate their businesses solely using cash, which can result in robbery, money laundering, and organized crime.
"This legislation will save lives and livelihoods. It is past time that Congress addresses the irrational, unfair, and unsafe prohibition of basic banking services to state-legal cannabis businesses," said Blumenauer, founder and co-chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus.
Key components of the bill protect banks that work with state-legal cannabis businesses from being penalized by federal regulators.
Under SAFE Banking, federal regulators are barred from taking several punitive steps against banks, according to the legislation:
• Prohibit, penalize or discourage a bank from providing financial services to legal cannabis businesses • End or limit a bank's federal deposit insurance if the bank provides those services • Recommend or incentivize a bank to halt or downgrade providing banking services to cannabis businesses • Take any action on a loan to an owner or operator of a cannabis business
The legislation also creates a safe harbor from criminal prosecution, liability and asset forfeiture for banks, their officers or employees. Moreover, a new component includes the safe harbor statute extended for underserved communities who face challenges in accessing capital and provide affordable access to financial services.
EXECUTIVES SOUND OFF
SAFE Banking, which has 38 additional cosponsors in the Senate and eight additional cosponsors in the House, will be a boon for an industry that has seen a downturn. Top cannabis executives have pushed Congress for years to take action on banking and other federal reforms needed to fortify their businesses.
Brady Cobb, the CEO of Sunburn Cannabis, a leading Florida dispensary chain, said in a statement, "All eyes should be on the Senate Banking Committee to call the measure up for its first hearing in the Senate."
"SAFE will serve as a springboard for the US banking and financial sectors to meaningfully participate in this budding industry, and most importantly it will significantly reduce the safety risks faced by the thousands of employees of this all cash business," he said.
Morgan Paxhia, co-founder and managing director at Poseidon, a cannabis investment firm, called the measure's reintroduction a major advancement for the industry.
"We have seen many firsts in legal cannabis and that now includes the scheduling of a hearing of cannabis banking reform in the Senate," added Paxhia. "This is an historic step for the Senate."

My WONDERFUL Diagnoses
Hey friends! I hope you enjoyed reading about my experience in the mental hospital. Next time I will have to get myself thrown into solitary so I can recount what that's like as well! I went for a follow-up with psych the other day, and he threw a couple more diagnoses in my hat. I thought it would be fun, if you humor me for a moment, for me to list my ongoing disorders in alphabetical order!
Feel free to sing along and list yours in the comments!
Antisocial Personality Disorder (except for you fine folks!)
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Binge Eating Disorder
Bipolar II ("can't rule out")
Borderline Personality Disorder
Cannabis Use Disorder (not a disorder!)
Major Depressive Disorder
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Oppositional Defiant Disorder
Substance Abuse Disorder
So looks like we're up to 10 and counting! I'm sorry if there's any of you I'm forgetting. I'll be sure to give you a shout out as well!
Now, onto my uber mega important review of SMB Wonder! It's late, but that is because it's far more prestigious than any of these so-called "professional" outfits!
I'm reminded of the phrase "an elephant never forgets," and Elephant Mario (or character of your choice) does indeed make for an unforgettable experience! Yes, this is another positive review, and if you happen to think the game sucks, you're wrong.
I don't think I have heard or seen a negative comment about this game, aside of some complaints about the frequency of the talking flower, but Nintendo did give the option to shut the voice off. For me, it isn't a big deal, and I actually enjoy it for the most part.
It really can't be said enough just how beautiful and vibrant this game is. The art is gorgeous, and the animation blows me away! I particularly love the different animations for entering/exiting the warp pipes, and I also love the attention to small details, such as the use of both hands alternating when throwing fireballs. The various facial expressions throughout the game also really help bring it to life.
If I had to provide any critiques, it would really be nitpicking. I guess maybe if Prince Florian could remind us about 100 more times that we can change badges by pressing R, maybe then I would remember...seriously though, I wouldn't mind having up to 6 players for co-op, some of the Wonder scenes are a bit repetitive, showing practically the same theme of effects in different courses. I might've liked more variety of power-ups, but again, nitpicking. I would also love to change the entire button mapping to suit playing with other controllers, but that's a complaint I have with many Switch games. I mean, why sell the retro controllers and make it so I can't use them?!
I love that the game moves so fluidly, even in multiplayer. I like that the game doesn't hiccup when a player dies, gets hit, or gets a power-up. I love that the game has accessibly easy courses for my kids to play along, but also some legit challenging 4 and 5 star courses for more experienced old grizzled vets like myself (not to mention the secret exits and courses). I also like the star rating system for each course's difficulty. It is also rather funny, and my family and I were hysterical plenty of times throughout the campaign. I think the piranha plant parade deserves its own spin-off!
Finally, I absolutely love the online mode. I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it, but it really works. It can be toggled on/off with a quick pause of the game, and I think having shadows of other players only added to my experience. I would've liked to see some more emojis to communicate a bit more with others, but I am happy to see that I didn't experience any latency or slow-down with the online play. The heart point system for reviving players, sharing a saved power-up, and reaching the goal concurrently also makes for some nice feels, especially when playing solo late at night and feeling lonely while smashing a full family sized box of Pop Tarts. I regret nothing! I recall having one spot in particular where I was stumped and threw the question mark above my head, and someone else immediately ran over and mimed what I should do. It worked, and that was an awesome feeling! That and having someone else share a power-up with me made me feel like somebody cares and that I'm not alone, and I've actually been able to friend a lot of the players I've encountered!
In conclusion, you couldn't wipe the smile off my face while playing, especially in that first hour that I was playing it for the first time when it dropped at midnight, and putting that smile on faces is exactly what SMB is about. I've heard a lot of comparisons to Mario World. I don't know if I would go that far, but I do recommend playing the game with the SNES controller if you have it. That controller is still the best of all time, but that's for another post!
Please tip your blogger. My psychiatrist is worried about me, and I could use the help! Besides, I have to buy the family a new box of Pop Tarts! And be sure to friend me on Switch so we can play some online races and campaign together as well! I'd love to get a whole party going online. Then I can feel like I've got real friends while also being able to cater to my introverted ways and bounce if I need to! I'll try not to do that to you, though! It would be nice to play with each other for once, instead of the usual playing with myself...

Raised by a single father Mac has always been considered one of “the boys”. They grew up in their father’s auto shop and knew how to change a tire at the same age they learned to ride a bike. The guys at the shop acted as uncles or brothers to them and they became a chosen family for the young tyke to rely on from a very young age.
Mac always felt like an outsider growing up and never quite fit in in school. They didn’t fit into the boxes laid in front of them and it took them quite some time to realize that they didn’t have to wedge themself into any one box to be content with themself. They consider themself to be a bit of a late bloomer and it wasn’t until they graduated high school that they fully accepted themself and became who they were and began make real efforts to come out of their shell.
They are destined to take over the family business but wound up getting a part time job at Dick’s Sporting Goods as a means to get discounts and further branch out from under their father’s wing.

Despite being girl crazy Mac has never actually been on a date. They’re horrible at reading the room and catching signals someone is interested in them and subconsciously winds up putting themself in the friendzone any time they get close to someone.
They own a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda named Betsy that is their pride and joy. They often take it on joy rides throughout town and they park as far in the back as possible at Shrike mall in hopes that no one parks near them and scratches the paint.
In the winter they spend most of their free time skiing up at the mountain and used to teach lessons on the weekends in high school.
They’re a terrible cook and eat almost exclusively take out or frozen dinners. They could burn water if left to their own devices in the kitchen.
Mac is a surprisingly good bowler and scores over 150 most games. They often play a few rounds at Starstrike after a shift at the mall.
There’s yet to be a romantic comedy released that Mac has enjoyed and prefers to watch horror and fantasy films.

It's been reported that Lauren Boebert's gun-themed restaurant has not had its lease renewed, forcing the cafe known as "Shooters" to either find a new home, or close its doors completely. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) could lose her Hooters-inspired, gun-themed restaurant in a dispute with her new landlord. The Colorado Republican told The Daily Beast she and her husband were surprised last week to receive notice from their landlord, a cannabis retailer, that their lease for Shooters would not be renewed after the building's ownership changed hands last month, and the lawmaker said they would have to find another location or close for good. "She didn’t explain exactly why her business was being kicked out," the website reported. "A person familiar with the arrangement said the property manager felt he had a 'moral' imperative to close the business, and had planned to lease the space to another restaurant." Milkin Enterprises, the company that owns the building, was formed days before buying it, according to Colorado business records, and the two men on its incorporation documents run the cannabis dispensary Rifle Remedies, which shared an address with Shooters until 2019, and Boebert said she had previously paid rent checks to the father of one of those men, who owned the building through Meskin Enterprises." *** The largest online progressive news show in the world. hey there, hope you're well 💖 i had a couple of questions 1) how do alters that aren't fronting feel the effects of substances (alcohol, cannabis) in the body if they are conscious in the headspace? 2) are alters formed immediately after a traumatic event or is it more gradual? i know every system is different. thanks so much!
I’m guessing the effects of intoxicating substances would vary from system to system, I’m not entirely sure, but it would likely affect non-fronting alters at least partially. From our experience with sleep deprivation (which I’m drawing from since we’ve never been intoxicated but the effects of sleep deprivation are similar to those of alcohol), usually there’s one or two people who get the full brunt of the effects (usually the ones fronting/co-conscious), but others may appear more steady/sober. It’s worth noting that either way, chemical factors will come into play, and being in a system won’t entirely eliminate that. Reaction time would still likely be slow, heart rate would still be high, etc, depending on whatever effects are appropriate for the substance.
On when alters split, it depends, we have alters who split both immediately after and more gradually/delayed. Either way, they formed when they were needed, whether that was immediately after a traumatic event, or a long while after once the alter/s handling that couldn’t do so anymore for whatever reason.
It’s worth noting that traumatic events don’t always need to precede an alter forming, there just needs to be a big enough need for there to be a new alter (stress from school/work, needing to meet expectations for a particular social role (parent, teacher), a specific alter really needing support, things like that)
Hope this answers your questions! Have a lovely day, and feel free to ask follow-up questions 💛
