anyways... here's why i think Loki and Matt Murdock should be each other's narrative foil(romantic):

• Loki- famously known liar, Matt Murdock- able to tell when people are lying

• Both wear helmets with horns on them, but Matt's are small and practical and Loki's are large and gaudy.

• Matt Murdock- Practicing Irish Catholic, Loki- Norse "God" of Mischief

• Loki- Presents himself as selfish and self preserving, Matt Murdock- Presents himself as selfless and self sacrificing

• Loki- Will flee if he knows he's gonna get his ass kicked for no gain, Matt Murdock- Knows he's gonna get his ass kicked for no gain and does it anyway

• They simply seem like prime material for a "We vehemently dislike each other up until we (whoops!) realize we love each other so much we can't live without the other" type romance that I am always obsessed over.

• Thor would enjoy it, and, frankly, he deserves the entertainment.

After the invasion of New York when the Avengers move to arrest Loki, he makes an attempt on his own life which leaves the Avengers with questions they don't trust Loki to answer honestly. there is something absolutely hilarious about the daredevil show in the context of the greater mcu, because season 1 is post loki trashing manhattan, at the end of season 1 daredevil gets a full costume with horns

So a huge part of the potential of frostdevil (Loki/Daredevil) is how it could be used to address Loki having been mind controlled in Avengers without him ever admitting to it. In fact, it's a way to reveal that he was mind controlled by having him specifically deny it.

Imagine that you're Loki, god of mischief, known liar, and you just got mind controlled and under that control you mind controlled other people and committed horrific crimes. Do you think after that anyone is going to believe you for even a second if you claimed that you were also mind controlled? You're a prince and a god, meaning you have more pride than is healthy, would you be willing to admit someone forced you, be willing to endure the shame of being called a liar for saying something that's true?

There was nothing Loki could have said or done after The Avengers that would have spared him punishment, especially not saying he had been mind controlled. He knows no one would have believed him, the truth is too convenient, and his reputation as a liar precedes him. So instead of humiliating himself trying to clear his name in vain, he proudly claims his guilt.

And so Daredevil, Matt Murdock, can tell when people are telling the truth and when they're lying. Get him in the same room with Loki proudly claiming his responsibility for The Incident and Matt'll be internally reacting: "Oh, he's full of shit, and now figuring out what that must mean is my problem because I'm the only one who knows he's lying, great :/" and then 60k slowburn w/ reluctant mutual pining

so i've got like four separate fic ideas working off this exact concept because how could i not???? wish me the energy and effort to complete them.

ok hi it's me again. so, when Loki shapeshifts his heartbeat would change and make it difficult to recognize. Matt points this out sometime and after that Loki always makes sure to keep his heartbeat consistent throughout his forms changing. if anyone else can hear his heartbeat when he's changed it's nothing but confusing but Matt's just happy he has an easy way to find Loki
