I do think it's really fun how since the very beginning of Gundam "The High Frontier" by Gerard K. O'Neill has clearly been a major influence on the designs of the Sides and other space colonies, and how you can still see that influence to this day in "The Witch from Mercury."

I really can't understand this weird dichotomy Twitter has manefested with Gwen, Hobie and Miles as a love triangle. Bro, the whole point is that it's not a love triangle. It's Schrodinger's triangle. Hobie isn't interested in Gwen, and Gwen isn't interested in Hobie and until he actually meets the guy, everything Miles learns about Hobie is second-hand information from Gwen - That they're friends and she's been living with him for a few months. Miles isn't even all that jealous (because what's there to be jealous of??), he's just a 15 year old boy trying to find out if his crush is single and not attracted someone else he doesn't even know! Because, yeah, around this age, you are insecure, and you don't just ask the person you're interested in if they'd want to date you. And when it's obvious there's nothing between Gwen and Hobie, this plot point is dropped because its served its purpose in conveying Miles' uncertainty in himself.

each chapter increasingly long orz

warnings in chapter notes but summary is:

some more mentions of (past) sexual assault/harassment and child molestation (nothing explicit, just heavy)

flash is still a closeted depressed under-21 alcoholic who hates himself

and peter has his biannual emotional breakdown (lol)

some implied sexual content

this one has some more relationship drama too but mostly of the quiet kind

i've been working on this chapter specifically for so long compared to the rest of the fic idk if it's even any good or not but i guess as a treat you get the very rare (for me, not for fandom) "peter ugly-crying" scene LOL blame tasm2 a little bit for that (tho i ended up cutting dialogue about his parents (and flash) cause it felt too cluttered... would like to include that eventually in something though cause peter's abandonment issues are so... 🫠)

also hobie is in this one 👍

also thx to Traincat for answering a couple dumb questions about passover a few months back. it was for a minor detail in the context of the rest of the chapter (considering how long it is) but i appreciate it
