" The Lord of the Rings " Chessboard

Pour Noël 2019, ma mère et la benjamine de ma fatrie m'ont offert ce magnifique échiquier.

La bonne blague c'est que quelques temps avant, je leur avais montré le luxueux échiquier « Seigneur des Anneaux » de chez Noble Collections ; et elles avaient ries. Bien sûr, elles avaient déjà pris cette échiquier ci-dessus (en occasion !)

J'ai fais comme si je n'avais pas compris l'allusion mais j'avais compris. (J'en ai tellement parlé aussi.)

Pour le livre, il s'agit du « Traité pratique du jeu d'échecs » de Siegbert Tarrasch, un bel ouvrage pour s'initier au jeu d'échecs, évidemment, et je l'ai choisi pour ses explications nombreuses sur les coups en milieu parti. J'ai fais quelques recherches et son nom est revenu souvent – j'ai confiance dans les russes quand il s'agit d'échecs. Nous nous initions beaucoup aux coups de première partie, c'est souvent des enchaînements rapides, et de fin de parti, mais plus rarement du milieu alors que c'est là que ça se corse le plus. Ça me semblait très intéressant.

Bien sûr, je n'ai toujours pas dépassé la préface. 🗿

When my partner went out to a friend's place, I was pleased to have some alone time to myself as it meant I could accomplish more without disruption.

However, that didn't go as intended; I was aimlessly wandering around and not doing anything productive. Instead of doing the things I had planned, I found myself watching videos, eating, visiting the restroom, cleaning, etc.

I felt the need to get pleasure from my rare moment of freedom and privacy. Yet, I was subconsciously following the same pattern I had in my childhood - when my mum would go out, I would cease to do anything. I would just imagine and daydream, and delay doing the essential.Eventually, I would have to pay the price for my procrastination, and it would be harsh.

That's what I fear the most. I'm anxious about the repercussions of this and I'm doing my best to stay away from anything that could be associated with it. I'm so scared of the potential outcomes that I'm hesitant to take on any tasks and end up retreating into my own imagination, far away from everything. But eventually, the reality of not having accomplished anything catches up to me and the people I'm close to, like my family, teachers, employers, and partners, will make it known that I'm not doing anything.

This creates an unending loop of my own creation and I desperately want to break free from it.

How nice it would be to finally break this cycle...

Hello love! My day is so far mostly filled with work but I'm counting the hours until I can write instead.

12. what’s some good advice you want to share?

I know this is easier said than done but really, the advice I try to give to everyone (including myself) is be kind to yourself. We're not perfect and we don't have to be, sometimes good enough is just, well enough. Now, if you want to have some more practical advice I'd say this:

Write lists! Everything is easier with lists and the satisfaction of crossing things off a list is immense. And it makes you feel like you've really accomplished something, even if it's small things.

My life changed (I'm being serious) when I learned about this neat burrito bed making trick and I dunno, maybe it's incredibly well known and I've just been living under a a rock but I found out at the age of 35 and if I teach just the one new person about this I'd say it's worth it.

I'm town between B and C. Like...it doesn't scratch any itches for me? It falls into general Fluff craving and any fluff can scratch that itch. But at the same time, I don't really think an author has to be great to sell it to me.

It's cute. I'll read it if I stumble upon it. Occasionally I even think about writing it. All in all, a decent trope.

❤️ What is your favourite line that you’ve written in a fic? Oh goddd that's hard haha. I guess for me it's less about the actual line and whether I can feel Loki saying it? When I feel like I've got something he would say right, it makes me a bit hard. An example from the top of my head “If we have concluded talking about my brother’s magic phallus…?” [Thor] grunted, a thin sheen of sweat forming on his brow.

Loki snorted derisively. “No magic, dear brother. Only expertise.” 👻What is your wildest headcanon? Probably that Loki enchants his dick to be smaller so as not to frighten us. A new development, I grant you. But not unwelcome. 🎨If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see? God that would genuinely make my life. I would LOVE a visual representation of theatrical, powerful Stripper! Loki pushing down the waistband of his trousers. Also, Masseur Loki with his lil manbun, remember him? But I mean, I'm easy. I would pretty much faint and die at anything if I'm honest .I regularly do.
