hi! i’m mod lila, and welcome to incorrect who’s lila quotes! about the mod, rules, and tagging system can be found under the cut. i hope you enjoy your stay! :)

about the mod!

hi, i’m mod lila. you can call me that if you’d like, otherwise, i also go by marshy. i use any pronouns, but generally have a preference for he/him or they/them. i’ll be the one running this blog, as well as contributing quotes of my own to fill the queue with—currently, i’m not looking for additional mods since i don’t expect this blog to be too overwhelming to maintain, but if that changes, i’ll be sure to make a post about it! my main is @marshmellowtea, and occasionally i make unhinged posts about this game over there. :)

rules for the blog! (well actually some of these are more like loose guidelines but still lol)

submissions are open for this blog, including anon submissions. i as mod reserve the right to refuse submissions i feel are inappropriate, but hopefully those those will be few and far between.

quotes will post once a day based on queue, unless there’s a reason to change that (such as a huge influx of submissions). quotes will be both from myself and submissions, and they will be tagged accordingly. submissions will be tagged with the blog url of the submitter as well if applicable, otherwise they’ll be tagged as anon. :)

because the queue is run on submissions and my own brain power, this blog may have periods of inactivity from time to time. sorry in advance for that ^^;

if your submission hasn’t been posted in a reasonable amount of time (depending on how the queue looks that time period will probably change), feel free to send an ask about it! i just ask that you don’t hound me about it, i do have a life outside of this blog after all, lol.

if you know the source of your quote, please include it in your submission! unknown sources will be tagged as “source: unknown”, but i think part of the fun of an incorrect quotes blog is seeing where all the quotes come from so i’d like to minimize use of that tag as much as possible. if you see a quote with an unknown source that you recognize the source of, please feel free to send in an ask!

light nsfw will be allowed (think things like jokes and allusions to sexual content), and will be tagged as #suggestive. no full on smut in the inbox though, please.

this is more of a personal preference than a hard and fast rule, but i highly recommend putting your submissions in chat format if possible (or quote format, if it’s a quote for one character and you think it fits better). i’ll still publish submissions in normal text post format, but i just think it looks neater, haha. also, as mod, i may go in and edit the formatting of your post if needed for readability (ex. bolding character names, adding paragraph breaks if need be), but i’ll never change the actual text of the post itself (that includes typos, btw—if you see a typo in your submission, feel free to send in an ask to get it fixed! i just don’t want to fuck with your text without permission, it feels rude, lol). ^-^

please do not send submissions through the ask box! submissions sent through the ask box will be deleted!

any content that i feel needs a trigger warning will be tagged as “tw [thing]”, and trigger tags can be asked to be added for certain posts, though i reserve the right to deny tag requests for any reason (they will probably almost always get a yes, but there are some things that i may just be unable to tag for whatever reason. not....quite sure what those reasons could be, but i figured i'd put the warning out there, lol). on the whole, though, while i understand this game can be dark and deals with some heavy topics that are bound to be mentioned here from time to time, i’d like to keep this blog mostly lighthearted.

finally, most importantly: no discourse on the blog for any reason, lol. it's just not the place :'))

tagging system (or, aka, mod lila overexplains himself lol)

i wanna preface this section with that i don’t expect you guys to tag your submissions yourself—as mod, i’m more than happy to do it! especially since i’m a little particular about the way i order them, haha. that being said though, if you do want to tag your posts, this is the way i’ll be doing it. don’t worry about following it to the letter if you do add tags, because i’ll go in and edit them as needed like the perfectionist little shithead i am, lol.

tags should (mostly) be in the same order every time: fandom tags first (i use both who's lila and who’s lila?), character tags generally in the order they appear in the post (mentioned characters may or may not be tagged on a case by case basis), ship tag(s) if applicable, trigger tags if applicable, the quote source, whether it’s a submission or my post, the submitter’s url/anon, and any commentary from myself or the submitter (i am a chatty bitch, apologies in advance lol. if both me and the submitter have commentary, i’ll differentiate our comments in some way, with the submitter’s comments always coming first).

the submission tag will be, well, submission, lol, and my quotes will just be tagged “mod lila”.

as stated above, triggers will be tagged “tw [thing]”. sources will be tagged “source: [thing]”.

general posts/announcements will be tagged “mod lila whispers to y(o)u” (like when she whispers to yu in that one scene? haha. i’m clever i swear—)

Been a hot minute since I’ve drawn RGB (I had massive burn-out, flitting focus, and was in a really weird mood for the couple months. Probably still in a weird mood rn, but I got the rest of the summer to relaaaaaxxxxx my brain hole. college be like thaaaaat). Still easing my way into drawing after my weird break.

tl;dr of below - Hey newbies, TPoH is really good, and modmad, the creator, is doing a fundraiser to print book 3 for the comic, and also has a stretch goal for their prose book, drawn by a different cool individual furiouskettle. Details on mod’s pinned post.

If you want to read my incessant rambling and boosting, read below. My thoughts are very good and very valid, and also I just like TPoH. I just may not draw it as much as I used to.

btw, since it’s been a hot minute since I’ve last mentioned tpoh and there’s some new folks, may I highly recommend TPoH, aka The Property of Hate? It’s a webcomic ran by @/modmad* and it’s umm, yeah I don’t actually know how to describe it besides story writing in the a literal sense (filled with visual puns, we love to see those GET IT), weird af, but incredibly endearing with wonderful characters, fantastical world, and good vibes. Just type tpoh into google, and it should come up under “Jolley Comics” and will be the middle square on the site. Not a virus beyond infecting my brain like a god damn brain worm for the past 2 years. All in good fun :D

I mention this because modmad is currently running a fundraiser to print the 3rd book for the comic, which consists of chapters “Click, Shopping~, Ah.” (you know if you know), and hey, why not give a boosty boost to a comic I find incredibly endearing, support the artist (who also writes other good comics. you should check ‘em out. got some cool vibes and cool comics. largely ducks) and also I drew like a metric fk ton of tpoh in the past 2 years, so yeah, I’m boosting. May draw Click because looking at things right now, there’s a whole lotta bastard boy. Details on their fundraiser is on the pinned post on their blog.

Oh yeah, before I forget, there’s a stretch goal for mod to also print their prose book, which is illustrated by @/furiouskettle, very good stuff from both parties.

*No I will not, and will (probably) never @ people even though I don’t mind if people @/ing me. I have a double standard, and it’s very dumb.

i have a couple questions about the save file!

1. is it gonna be cc free?

2. will it include all packs or will it be by town/pack (willow creek = base game, moonwood mill = werewolves, etc. (i know you’re not doing moonwood mill currently but it was all i could think of))?

3. will it have empty houses to move our sims into? or will every house be full and we have to evict one?

im so excited btw!

- there will be a cc/mod free version but there will be a “lit version” that requires a small amount of mods like basemental drugs + gangs and wicked whims, for more realism and adult gameplay (so dealers sell real drugs instead of catnip, strip clubs have dancers, gangs aren’t just clubs) as well as @ravasheencc’s shop chef cc (so convenience stores have functional drink machines/snacks)

- both will be released at the same time. i’ll also be including a list of recommended mods that aren’t technically required but highly recommended to make gameplay better, like the one that makes sims stay in their home regions. the pre-existing maxis townies have no business being in a place like portsim.

- most if not all packs have been used, this started off as a personal save file and i didn’t consider any of that when i was building lots, so i’ve continued using them all. it just wouldn’t be the way that it is if i limited myself!

- there’s 2 starter homes. i figured i’d also leave a few houses with for sale signs that are unoccupied and unfurnished that include just the basics (plumbing, appliances, etc) like a real house that u would move into.

Heyy I've been alright! I've been playing a lot of video games lately (I got a new gaming console hehe). In the past few months one of the games I've played is called stray (which I highly recommend, it's so lovely and it has so much lore and you play as a cat in this game fhndudjd and there's a button for meow and I can throw shit off rooftops and trip people over, I'm absolutely in love with this game).

And I've also played both the spiderman games and this one called horizon zero dawn (which is so good gosh the lore of this game?? its so weird at first but then the story unfolds and the plot has me addicted), I'm almost done with zero dawn and I'll play it's sequel next!

Wow thank you 😏 I have a masterlist of movies that have changed me I often recommend to people, I'll just copy and paste here with quick synopses lol, it's kinda long. I'm not super great at writing synopses tho so bear with me

Dead Poets Society (1989)

One of my favorite movies of all time and a total classic. It's about a group of boys at a strict boarding school who are inspired by their new English teacher (played by Robin Williams) to think for themselves and chase their dreams. This movie literally changed my life lol

Quadrophenia (1979)

This movie is based off of the story behind the concept album by The Who of the same name. It follow the life of a young man named Jimmy who is in a gang called the Mods. Theres this huge gang war between them and the Rockers (I think that's their name, it's been a while since i watched it) and Jimmy questions his beliefs about coming-of-age and his values in life throughout the film

Cabaret (1972)

Based off of the Broadway musical of the same name, this movie is about a British man who moves to Germany during the beginning of the rise of Nazis. He meets a woman who basically turns his world upside down, and it follows their love affair and sexuality and anti-semitism, and it's hilarious and heart wrenching and a beautiful movie

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)

This is a super trippy romance film. Basically in the universe of this movie, theres a technology that is developed that can delete memories of an entire person from your mind while you are in a dream-like state, and the main character of this movie (played by Jim Carrey) decides to undergo the procedure after a bad breakup. Its soooo good I highly recommend this movie

It's Such a Beautiful Day (2012)

This is an animated film about a man named Bill who is going through brain cancer. Its told from the perspective of an unnamed narrator essentially communicating everything Bill sees, hears, and experiences. This is the movie that got me into film and it is still a complete masterpiece and one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen

The Dirties (2013)

Loved this one a lot back in high school, it's been a while since I watched it. This is a film made in Canada about a high schooler named Matt Johnson and his friend Owen who decide to make a short film for their class about them killing the gang at their school that bullies them, and things take a dark turn. It's a hilarious movie and hits pretty close to home for me in a lot of ways haha

Logan's Run (1976)

Great movie, pretty cheesy though so be warned. This is based off a book with the same name, and it takes place in the future where most of humanity is wiped out except for a small society that lives under a domed structure. No one is allowed to leave the dome, and to control overpopulation, no one is allowed to live past the age of 30. It's really bizarre but I love this movie

Donnie Darko (2001)

Pretty sure this was Jake Gyllenhaal's first big hit when he was super young (I think he was like 19 in this movie but I'm not sure) basically about this kid, Donnie Darko, who is somewhat schizophrenic and has a habit of sleepwalking. After one particular incident he has a near-death experience and starts seeing a man in a bunny costume everywhere who makes him do weird stuff. Another pretty trippy movie with a crazy ending

American Psycho (2000)

Honestly I'm sure a few on this list you've probably seen (most likely this one included) but I didnt wanna leave any out because they're all so good. If you haven't seen this, it's about a Wall Street executive named Patrick Bateman who is a materialistic phony by day and a serial killer by night. I tried to read the book but the inner dialogue was really hard to get through lmao. Awesome movie though huge recommend.

Clockwork Orange (1971)

Yet another trippy one. And fuck it's been a long time since I've seen it so I might get some stuff wrong here. But it's basically about this serial rapist guy who hangs out with this group of goons and they all like to go beat up homeless people and shit, but the main character gets captured and has to go through reformation therapy to make him a better person. It's an extremely bizarre movie but soooo good and kind of hilarious lol

Creep (2014)

Of course this is on my list haha. If you haven't seen it yet, it's a horror movie about this freelance film guy who answers an ad on craigslist to help a man with cancer film a movie for his unborn son. And shit gets weird real fast. One of my favorite horror movies ever, I wouldnt say it's super scary but it's fun as fuck

Hereditary (2018)

If I'm being honest, I don't like a lot of big movies made in super recent years and especially not horror movies (mostly because they're all cheap cash grabs with no substance) but this one is an exception for me. Hereditary is fucking masterful in my opinion, legitimately creepy as hell and well-produced and well written. To put the plot as vaguely as possible without spoiling anything, it's about a family (mostly the mother) who go through some crazy fucked up shit. That's literally all I can say without giving anything away. Super good flick, big recommend

Gattaca (1997)

This list isn't in any particular order, and I love all these movies to death, but if I had to rank them this would probably be on the lower end. It's not a bad movie, it's still great but it's just not as life-changing as the other ones lmao. This takes place in the future where genetic modifications have progressed to a point where you can modify your unborn child's DNA to have the perfect baby. This has led to, essentially racial bias against those who never had that procedure when they were born. The main character was not one of these "special" children, but he wants an extremely prestigious job which requires that of the employee. Through the film, he is trying to fake his identity and fool the company into thinking he is one of these perfect people. Still a great film

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)

Johnny Depp, man, he is something else. I LOVE this movie. Based off a true story and a book written by the man who lived it, Hunter S. Thompson, this follows the adventure of the writer and his attorney as they go on a drugged-out, psychedelic romp through Las Vegas with the original intention being to cover a story on a motorcycle race, but things go off the rails as they both terrorize the entire city in a way. Just a fun ride the whole way, a great movie

The Truman Show (1998)

God I'm realizing this list is long as fuck. Don't watch all of these movies, it might take you a lifetime lmao. Anyway, this is a classic Jim Carrey movie and another one you've probably seen. But again, if you haven't, this movie is about a man whose entire life has been fabricated and shot for television without him knowing. Super great, super moving, fantastic film 10 outta 10 I gotta wrap this shit up

A Scanner Darkly (2006)

A lesser known Keanu Reeves movie, but fuck I wish more people have seen this. This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and it's based off a book which is just as amazing. This movie takes place in the near future, where facial recognition technology has progressed wayyy too far, and drugs have gotten to the point of no return. The plot follows a detective who is undercover in a junkie house trying to figure out who is the top of the drug dealing totem pole, but ends up wrapped in the junkie lifestyle a little too deeply. Seriously, I recommend this movie to everyone who asks, it's so damn good

Fight Club (1999)

Another popular one. If you havent seen it, it's based off a book by Chuck Palahniuk following the story of a man (the main character actually doesnt have a name lol) who meets a guy named Tyler Durden who changes his entire perspective on how the world works. They start an underground boxing club together to help themselves and other men blow off steam and get away from the capitalist consumer-centric lifestyle they are forced into. Big twist at the end, great movie five stars on yelp

Harold and Maude (1971)

This is a weird one. Gotta say. It's about a guy in his 20s who meets an old woman at a funeral and falls in love with her. Sounds pretty ok at face value but theres a lot of really strange subplots and a huuuuge twist at the end (one of the subplots being the guy compulsively fakes his suicide to get his mother's attention) big recommend

This one I cant even explain u just have to watch it its fucking bizarre

Fargo (1996)

Ok lightning round on the synopses, this movie is about a man who wants to commit fraud by hiring guys to kidnap his wife so her father can pay them ransom and instead the husband gets the money but everything goes wrong it's really good

Bad Times at the El Royale (2018)

Another modern movie I actually like, last time I watched this I was on shrooms and it was crazy but it's about this hotel right on the border of california and (Nevada I think?) And all these weird people are staying at it and there are twists at every turn and chris hemsworth is a cult leader in it its great

Memento (2000)

GREAT MOVIE GOD PLEASE WATCH THIS ONE it's about a man who develops short term memory loss after witnessing the rape and murder of his wife AND WHEN I SAY THERE ARE TWISTS LIKE EVERY TEN MINUTES I MEAN IT. The film is chronologically backwards, in that the first scene takes place at the end of the story and works back from there in increments of like 5 minutes. Basically each scene is a segment of time that this guy remembers before his memory loss kicks in and he forgets and FUCK it's so good please god watch it

Almost Famous (2000)

This is another one that would probably be low on my ranking but still a great and fun movie, it's about this kid that wants to write articles about rock stars for the rolling stone (based off a true story btw) and he ends up running away to go ride on a tour bus with some band and gets into all types of shenanigans and its great and sad

Parasite (2019)

Another modern movie I love, fuck this is getting too long lmao. Poor family wants to make money and they hatch a scheme to pretend to be bougie and work for this rich family but shit gets weird and everything goes wrong and it's so good (also literally the only film ever that made me speechless afterwards)

Pulp Fiction (1994)

Pretty much lives up to the hype, I totally forgot the plot but it's pretty damn good I remember that lmao

The Warriors (1979)

Fun movie, theres a bunch of teen gangs in New York and the leader of all of em is like "hey we should rally all the gangs together and fuck up the cops so we can rule this city" but then he gets shot by someone in the crowd and the gang The Warriors gets blamed so the whole movie is them running from all the other gangs so they can get back to home base and it's just an all around fun time movie

12 Monkeys (1995)

THIS MOVJE IS CRAZY it takes place in the future where a virus has almost completely wiped humans off the face of the earth so these scientists send this guy back in time to figure out where it came from so they can stop it from ever happening but obviously everything goes wrong and yadda yadda yadda it's amazing

Waking Life (2001)

Gonna preface this by saying this film is definitely not for entertainment, it's kind of an arthouse-type flick. It's the type of movie you have to think really really hard about to watch. The basic plot is the main character is stuck inside his own lucid dream, and is walking around listening to all these characters in his dream talk to him about, idk like the meaning of life and consciousness and shit. It's really good if you're in the mood for that type of thing.

Okay I'm finally done, you probably didnt expect this but I've been meaning to put my movie recommendations on this blog anyway haha. I deleted some just cause it was getting wayyyy too long. If u want a shorter list I can just give u like a top 5 in DMs but there u go have at it, every movie on that list is a banger I swear

I’m glad that this mod works right for you. Yes, I could make new memory optional (memory of being poisoned is optional, btw). I’d have to decide when the assassin would get positive and when negative memory of poisoning the other Sim, e.g. negative when they poison their friend or family member they have good relationship with. It sounds to me that you’ve made new memories for those events. If you’re comfortable with modding, you can alter my mod and add them for your own use. You can even share your edit, but then keeping up with any updates of poison mod will be your responsibility. ;)

Hi! I’m by no means “guru” of modding or animating. If anyone’s “guru” of anims, it’s @earlypleasantview and @justmiha97. I don’t even know how to make rigs. Do you play with boolprop testingcheatsenabled true? I highly recommend doing so when testing mods, because if there’s any error, you’ll get an error log, which can be very helpful. Since I’ve worked with altering animations in influence interaction, my guess is that you used SocialAnims (0x83) for both Sims, while you should use AdultAnims (0x81) for both of them. That’s my quick guess, but as your message doesn’t go into much detail, I'm not sure what more I can suggest. If I’ve got any problems with animations, I test them by adding them to some self-action or object, to see how they work outside my mod. You could add your animation to an object, like it’s shown in this tutorial and test it to see if the animation works correctly outside the mod. I don’t know how familiar you are with modding, so I don’t if my tips are of any help to you. But I wish you good luck!

hello! i hope i am not bothering you guys. thank you so much for running this blog! so, i am a 16 year old lesbian. i was raised in a extremely conservative house and my parents over-protected me a lot - even worse regarding relationships in general. i have an extreme fear of intimacy that mixed up with a lot of internalized shit - i am deeply scared of dating or kissing a girl, even though i really want it. it's easier to forget about my fear when i have a crush, but most of the time i feel terrified. so thanks to that, i am considerably "behind" my straight/bi friends in the relationship aspect. i know that it's just me being a dumb teen, but it feels so... alienating. so lonely. i feel like i will never be able to date another girl. people in my family often try to push me to date guys because they never saw me actually with a girlfriend - it's so horrible sometimes i just want to cry. in your teenage years, have you guys ever had experiences like this? thank you so much for your time. i hope this wasn't too much. thank you

Hi Anon, The hardest part of being a teenager, is that no matter what is going on in your life it feels like you are ‘behind’ everyone else. This is because we cram teens together for 8 hours a day where you all can compare yourselves to each other. I’m not so much older that I can’t remember high school. But 16 isn’t ‘behind’ on anything. I didn’t have my first kiss until I was 21 and I wasn’t behind. I had sex for the first time at 22 and wasn’t behind. Because unlike milestones like babies being able to hold their own heads up, kisses/sex/intimacy doesn’t have a timeline. And, in my opinion, a significant number of teenagers have experiences before they are ready for them, whether that means that they are peer pressured, coerced, feel like they ‘should’ have something like a first kiss or sex, or because they aren’t ready to manage the consequences and effects of various intimacies. When I was in college, many of the conversations I had with my female friends as we approached graduation had to do with how our lives had been up to that point. And a topic that got talked about a lot was about how many relationships, how much sex, my friends wished they hadn’t sought out or agreed to. Especially for sex and relationships from high school. It is not a bad thing to be more grown up and sure of yourself - your interests, your likes, your desires, your comfort levels, your dislikes, your fears - before pursuing a relationship. It isn’t ‘dumb’ to feel worried or concerned or ‘behind’ because it’s an unfortunate side effect of being a teenager (truly the worst years btw, everything is uphill after high school). I don’t want this to come across as condescending or like it’s blowing you off, but you are perfect as you are and there is nothing wrong. You aren’t ‘behind,’ you will have a girlfriend some day and I promise it won’t matter that you didn’t have your first kiss at 14 or 15. The fear about kissing or dating or sex does diminish because it becomes less of an unknown. I would HIGHLY recommend that you read some lesbian romances because they do demystify lesbian relationships, both on an emotional level and sexual level. If you’d like some specific recommendations, message the blog and I will personally help you out. As for your family, when you are able to leave them - either to go to college or by moving out - their hold on you will diminish. Even just having a job will introduce you to other people and it will diminish the influence of your parents. The side-effect of being over-protected is that it does make the world seem far scarier than it is, and it makes the world seem harder to navigate than it is. I didn’t personally grow up with over-protective parents so I can’t speak about it from a personal standpoint, but I have had friends and girlfriends from over protective families and the way to deal with this I’ve seen from them is to slowly introduce yourself to the world. Go new places, try new things, seek out new reading material and tv shows that would introduce you to new ideas, try to meet new types of people (be open to friendships to people you might not have sought out before). This doesn’t mean start taking huge risks. Don’t start smoking to see if you like it for example, or start walking downtown at night alone in the dark alleys. But as you get older, try to find different events and groups and interests and try them out. Maybe your town has a huge quilting community. Go hang with the women at the quilting meetup and see if you like to sew! Maybe see what events a local bookstore is putting on - maybe a poetry reading by a local author or a book club in a genre you haven’t yet explored. If you have a car, get in it and just drive all over where you live for an hour or two in places you haven’t been and look around. Anything interesting you would have otherwise missed? Take note! This is how I find restaurants when I move to a new place. If you go to college, try to say yes to as many things as possible from the start. I went to a concert three hours away with three people I’d only known a week but who I had already started bonding with a little. The concert was great and I made some acquaintances that were good to know through college. Study abroad! Etc etc etc I think you’ve got the point. Doing this will make the world less scary, more easy to navigate, and introduce you to all sorts of people you otherwise would have missed. As you do this, the side-effects of having been raised by strict conservative parents will lessen and you’ll be much freer, more confident, and more sure of yourself as a person. Mod S

Do you know how in Harry Potter we know exactly what he is thinking/feeling at all times and his point of view is the one we filter the world through? I wanted to ask if, by any chance, you have 1st person narrative book recommendation of an ENFP 9 and other for INFP 9 person please. The idea came due to the fact that reading Harry’s thoughts helped me with Fi.

I’m afraid I don’t have one offhand; I tend not to think about typing characters when I am just reading and enjoying a novel, but I’m so familiar with HP and have read it so many times that I’m reading it now as much to type characters as for fun, so... I’m paying attention to that as much as the narrative. I can fulfill your following request, however (please don’t use this as a ‘which character am I more like?’ method to self-type, btw -- you need to look at Ne-dom vs. Fi-dom separately and self-analyze to determine your type).

Since that is A LOT to ask, how about a comparison between a ENFP 9 and a INFP 9? Appreciate it.

Claire from Elizabethtown is an ENFP 9 and she just... as an extrovert, takes a real interest in other people and inserts herself into their lives. She sees Drew sitting all alone at the back of the plane and tries to befriend him, then starts giving him advice, she picks up on his father’s death through their chat with each other and then takes him under her wing. All in all, Claire is a great person who... deserves better than she has, because she’s asleep to her own needs and wants. She embodies this when she tells Drew “I am fine with whatever you want to say. Or not say.” She’s even a little intimidated to invite him to be her boyfriend and stay with her, because... what if that isn’t what he wants? Even when she makes her move, she leaves the choice totally up to him, in a very Ne-dom casual “whatever happens, happens...” way. You can join me or not, it’s fine. She chats with him all night on the phone and cancels a trip to Hawaii to be with him. Then she inserts herself, in his absence, into a group at the hotel, and they are all crazy about her, because she’s so great. Extroverted behavior -- she went out and made friends while waiting around for Drew to get back. But she over-tolerates people’s bad behavior, and is in a relationship where she waits around for a guy to show up, but never does anything about it when he doesn’t prioritize her enough to keep his appointments.

Fanny Price of the older Mansfield Park is an INFP 9 and... there is a marked difference. She gets overwhelmed by people and runs upstairs to her desk, to read over her plays and things that she is writing and look out the window. She chooses to be alone quite a lot of the time. Her Fi-dom comes out, despite her 9ish desire to be appropriate and avoid conflict; she has strong opinions and is not afraid to express them with people she loves and trusts (Edmund). She can be stubborn and withdrawn, refusing to do things she doesn’t want to do (Fi-dom/Te inferior and 9ish passive resistance) -- including not marrying a man who she knows is ‘wrong’ for her. Fanny filters everything through herself, and how she feels about it, despite being a 9. She self-references, she goes by what she feels and believes is right, and she does not seek external approval as much. She prefers smaller groups and more intimate friends and is more discriminating in who she spends time with, as a Fi-dom (Claire casts a wider net and has a more amiable disposition overall; Fanny is nice, but not particularly outgoing).

I have personal experience with an NFP 9 of both types. The ENFP 9 is more directly pursuing of people, due to a desire to connect and for her, especially in her fiction, it is all about ideas and turning things on their head. The INFP 9 is also a writer, but I’ve noticed her book is highly ‘personal’ -- about a lot of her own feelings, inner experiences, and actual world experiences. She is extroverted when she is at home -- funny and outgoing, but like most introverts (much to the consternation of us extroverts :P) -- she can disappear for weeks at a time without saying a word, because she’s lost in her own little world and not particularly interested in seeking widely beyond it. Whereas the ENFP bugs me and others for attention far more often and comes up with some crazy ideas.

Hi, it's the anon from earlier! I was mainly interested in maybe making a companion myself one day (probably smaller scale than yours, likely just one character) and figured it wouldn't hurt to ask some people with experience than me. I guess my biggest question would be how to make a follower more reactive to your actions or giving them quests that you'd only be able to do after enough progress with them has been made. Thanks for the offer, btw!

Depending on how well you know your way around the Creation Kit, you might want to take a look at these links first: 1 | 2 | 3 Also, the CK Wiki is really a lot more helpful than it appears at first. I know all of this might seem utterly unrelated, but the first two are very basic tutorials that have taught me a lot of necessary skills to get any of this started. Darkfox127′s tutorials add a lot of extra information, and the official Creation Kit wiki has become somewhat of a cheat sheet for me at this point. If you’re intending to work with quests (and reactive followers need those, there’s no way around it) a lot, you should keep all of these handy.

I’ll put the rest under a cut.

Essentially, in order to have them be as reactive as possible, I basically reverse engineered Serana’s quests to meet my needs. You can find them in the CK by searching for the quests in the Object Window.

DLC1NPCMentalModel and DLC1NPCMonitoringPlayer are the ones I’m talking about. These are quests that interact with each other through scripts, and if you choose to go down this route, you will have to recreate them both in order for your follower to work as intended. Make sure to take out everything that you don’t want your follower to do, or they’ll just end up behaving in the same way as Serana (unless that’s something you want to achieve of course!). I wish I could give you better advice than “just look at these and try to do the same”, but this is basically the core of it. All of my other quests depend on these quests I recreated in one way or another, since they hold every kind of dialogue (outside their personal quests) that I’ve written for them, in order to keep them as unintrusive to other quests as possible.

Once you have that down, everything else becomes a lot simpler. At this point, all you have to do is to call on this script’s functions to do the job for you.

The next thing I wanna talk about are global variables, as well as dialogue and quest conditions. These are important because the global variable increases (or decreases) the follower’s relationship with the player according to the player’s actions, and this variable is always one of my personal quests’ starting conditions.

Create a new one by navigating to Miscellaneous > Global in the Object Window, right clicking on the Editor ID and hitting “New”. Enter the name you want to use for it (and make sure it’s simple and memorable, you’ll need it a lot) in the ID bar, set the variable type to “Float” and the value to 0.0000. Hit OK. You should end up with something similar to what’s in the screenshot above. This is the entire friendship between the player and your follower.

What I did next was adding a function to their mental models with which I can manipulate the global variable. Now this might sound confusing, but it’s a lot simpler than it seems.

If you’ve reverse engineered Serana’s quest right, your follower’s quest should have a script like this one in it. Right click it and hit edit source. We’ll add these functions.

Add your GV as a property to the script by adding

GlobalVariable Property YOURGVSNAME auto conditional

to the script.

Next we’ll add the functions to manipulate your follower’s relationship.

Add this piece of code:

Function NAMEOFYOURFUNCTION() YOURGVSNAME.Mod(amount you want to give or take) EndFunction Do this for as many functions you want to add. Save your script and close your quest.

Now, all that’s left to do is have your follower react to things that are happening. You can do this through many different ways, by essentially referring back to these functions every time you want the relationship to change. For me, this mostly happens through dialogue, so I’ll show you how to do this. Let’s go there now.

When writing your dialogue, all you have to do is to add this little piece of code as a script fragment, either at the beginning or at the end. Your choice. What works for me might not work for you.

Now I’ve added several functions here. You don’t need all of this. I’m fairly certain you’ll find your own way to handle your follower’s relationship progression by the point you’ve taken a look at all the tutorials above for yourself. All you need to do is to point to your function in the script.

If your dialogue happens to be within your follower’s mental model (as your script with the functions you created earlier is), you add this piece of code:

(GetOwningQuest() as YOURMMSCRIPTNAME).NAMEOFYOURFUNCTION()

for me this looks a little something like:

(GetOwningQuest() as WKTMMScript).LikeReaction()

It likely won’t look the same for you.

Now, and this is important. If your piece of dialogue is NOT in your mental model quest, you can’t use GetOwningQuest(). You will need to add your quest as a property to this script fragment, and cast this property as the mental model script. (Since I rarely do this, I might not be explaining this well enough. This has been explained in the links I added to the top of this post, though, and you will stumble over it if you take a look at Dawnguard’s main quests in the Creation Kit).

And last but not least, how do I make use of all of this to start quests once you’ve reached a certain point in your follower’s relationship?

It’s actually really simple by this point. Refer to this tutorial if you’re a little confused about dialogue still, though, and make sure you went through doughamil’s quest tutorial.

Within my mental models, I have a dialogue view for personal dialogue. In there’s where I start my personal quests through blocking topics. These blocking topics only start through a ForceGreet package on my Quest Alias once my GlobalVariable has hit a certain value (as well as a couple other conditions).

And that’s it!

With all of that said, this is not a beginner tutorial, I’m sure. I’m self-taught and I needed a lot of time to get these things figured out. I’m still learning as I go. So don’t be frustrated with yourself if anything’s confusing or too hard to understand at first glance. You won’t be able to follow along unless you have basic knowledge of the Creation Kit, which is why I highly recommend everyone who reads this to go and take a look at the tutorials I linked right at the beginning. I hope this at least gives you pointers into the right direction anon! Have fun modding!

im not sure if you'll find this rude, impolite, or inappropriate to ask but is there anyway to get into the tedgens discord? me and some others have been wondering for awhile and haven't found out anything so i figured i could ask and maybe get an answer

Hey, it's no problem! Invites to the server are notoriously hard to find lmao but we're always open for new rats

The last post I know of with an invite is https://ariatorulethemall.tumblr.com/post/188029635955 but if that doesn't work, maybe try asking @dikrats-ranger as she's one of the three mods on the server, as well as the most active one, and will be able to create a fresh one. Regular members aren't able to create invites which I can understand, but it makes it a little more complicated when it comes to people wanting to join, which Oh Boy, seems to be half of tumblr fhskdh

Just a couple things tho:

tedgens isn't actually discussed as often as it used to be. There's usually content in #shipping, #nsfw or #fics-and-art but the other channels are usually unrelated, or to do with Starkid in general. The server was created in April and since then a couple of us have fallen out of interest of tedgens but have stayed on the server because we've made so many friends and at this point, we've known each other for so long that we'd miss one another lmao. In no way does this mean you can't join and start rambling because we'll no doubt join you, it's just so that you're aware.

There's about ~120 members but a good chunk of them are pretty inactive or only observe, so I'd estimate only around 50 (very rough estimate btw) are active, with about half as many on it every single day, myself being one - which makes it easier if you don't like huge servers.

Also, most if not all of us are LGBTQIA in one way or sometimes multiple, as you'd expect with people coming off Tumblr, so it's a safe space for y'all.

#dome-zone is regularly highly cursed and has recently been changed to a NSFW marked channel because of that, but I guess that's part of our Rat Charm. If you feel comfortable, I'd recommend reading Nicole's Henry x Plane fic (Henry Hidgens and the Anthropomorphic Plane - Avada_Lasagna on wattpad) or the so-dubbed "Alexa fic" (Full Price Admission - bonnyappeteet on ao3) since most of us are very familiar with it and quote it a lot, especially in #dome-zone and #nsfw. Obviously, nsfw warning for both of these. If you're not comfortable with any of this or under the age of 16, I'd say to mute these channels. We're not really strict with keeping minors out of nsfw channels since there's like 2 people in the entire server who aren't minors and they're barely active, but keep in mind that if someone thinks you're too young to be in the channels (we've had 12 year olds insist that they're old and mature enough), you should probably not go in those channels.

That said, enjoy your time on the server! We are pretty active and after being AFK for a while, particularly while you sleep, there's usually a fair amount of messages to scroll through.

I've seen a lot of tf2 stuff here and I'm wondering if I should get into it? I know OF the game, but that's pretty much it. What's it about? Where do I start?

buddy Y E S. it’s like this weird unlikely ~timeless masterpiece~ that has sooo many different facets to it. it’s silly and ridiculous and saturated with lots of interesting lore and characters, as well as fun and INCREDIBLY versatile gameplay- it can be played like a serious shooter with a serious objective, or it can become a block party where everything’s silly taunts and hats and the points don’t matter and oh boy just wait until you see the halloween events. tf2′s given me some of the best friends i’ve ever had, has gotten me through some of my darkest times, and has just generally brought me so much joy (directly and indirectly) throughout the years, that it will probably be one of my favorite video games for the rest of my life. so YES i highly recommend you give it a shot lol.

AND OK, SO…I ENDED UP WRITING A LOT. LIKE BASICALLY A BRIEF CRASH COURSE ON TF2. but c’mon man you’re asking me about one of my favorite games..i can’t help myself lol. i mean…objectively it’s very short for covering 10+ years of content, riiiight

but foreal it’ll just take a few minutes to read and it will give you some useful insight into tf2, what it is, and everything else you need to start your ✧・ﾟ:* magical *:・ﾟ✧ hat-based journey (btw almost all italics are links jsyk, i know my blog is dumb and doesn’t make that obvious)

TL;DR:gaem is about shoot and silly hat with 9 boyes. is v fun 2 play, start with am watch meet the team videoz on tf yootoob.

And now for a more detailed explanation:

i’ll start by telling you how it began: “team fortress” was the first team fortress series game ever made. this game was a quake mod, made in the mid-90s, not developed by valve, and based in another engine. it got reeeally popular, so, eventually, valve saw it, liked it, and put a ring on it, hiring the team to make a team fortress half-life mod, and later, a standalone version, known as “team fortress classic” (essentially, in regards to modern lore, tf1). valve eventually started developing a standalone sequel to tfc, “team fortress 2: brotherhood of arms.” this game was, stylistically, VERY different from the tf2 we know today- it was a super-realistic military game (kinda like counter strike?). but for some reason (thank you god) they ended up doing a 180 and went for something more cartoony (if they’d gone with that original design, tf2 probably would’ve outdated and died off years ago). this more cartoony style is what you see today.

so now we’ve covered tf2′s history, let’s talk about what it is: team fortress 2 is an online team-based multiplayer first-person shooter game that features a variety of gamemodes. here’s the basic in-game menu layout when you fire it up:

these different gamemodes include a casual mode, a competitive mode, and a player vs bot mode (which is super fuuuunn). here’s what the menu looks like when you click the “find a game” tab:

i’m mostly familiar with casual mode (formally known as “pubs” for “public servers”), which is the main part of the game anyway, so i’ll list what type of objectives you have to choose from in casual mode: (CORE GAME MODES) attack/defense, capture the flag, control points, king of the hill, and payload; (VALVE DIDN’T KNOW WHAT THEY WERE DOING ALTERNATIVE GAME MODES) payload race, mannpower, pass time, and miscellaneous game modes.

but tf2 doesn’t only appear in game form! i remember i was hella confused about what exactly tf2 was for the longest time because of this, so next, let’s break down what it manifests as: a video game, a comic series, and animated shorts (both official and fan-made). source filmmaker (sfm) is the animation program valve developed and uses to animate their shorts. a few years ago, this program was made free to the public, so there have been maaaaany many fan animations and posters made over the years about tf2 using the program. so many, in fact, that valve decided to start holding an annual tf2 film festival, called “the saxxy awards” (”saxxy” coming from “saxton hale,” a dude we’ll touch on ina bit). the festival is an opportunity for animators to showcase their skills, and SO many seriously amazing projects have come out of them. i recommend checking out winglet, uberchain, mag magnet, krunkidile (specifically his “TSA” series), py-bun, and nonamesleft, they are all very skilled animators who are also quite active in the community! there are so many more amazing sfm animators, but my brain is just about fried (it’s almost 4am), so i can’t think of them right now, but keep an ear open for whenever this year’s saxxies roll around and you’ll discover more no problem!

let’s move onto what it’s about: the story takes place in the 1970s, and centers around 9 mercenaries who have been hired to fight in a “war.” the “war” was started by 2 bitch ass rich ass brothers who got their wealthy father to buy an enormous expanse of land in new mexico and move their family there. the brothers hated each other with a petty fury, and their father hated them both because the land they convinced him to buy….was absolutely worthless! so when he died, he gave their family munitions company “mann co.” to his closest aide (barnabus hale), and left them both nothing but that enormous plot of worthless gravel-filled land (hence the name “the gravel wars”) to fight over. and they’ve been fighting over it ever since. the bros got played, but they are so single-minded in their sibling rivalry that they don’t care.

it’s on this land where most of the in-game maps are located. the brothers’ names are redmond mann and blutarch mann (hence the team names red and blu). in-game, you play on either red or blu. on both sides, you can play as any of the 9 mercenaries, scout/soldier/pyro (offense), heavy/demoman/engineer (defense), or sniper/medic/spy (support). it’s never really touched upon in lore how both brothers managed to hire the same mercenaries to fight, and it probably never will be, since it is just an in-game mechanic. but it does still beg the question. in the shorts, it’s shown that they literally fight clones of themselves (like in the game). in the comics, certain mercenaries are shown on blu team, while others are on red. there are a lot of fan theories, but generally it’s just said that “they fight each other” (interpret as you will). the world may never know.

each of the mercs are referred to by their job title (i.e. heavy weapons guy, sniper, medic, etc.), but they have their own real names oc (except maybe pyro). however, we don’t know all their names yet. they each have really unique personalities and skills that have built them to be these memorable characters. which leads me to where you should start:

i would say go to the team fortress youtube channel and just start working your way through the videos. Start with the “meet the ____” videos, cause those will give you a sense of who the 9 mercenaries are personality-wise (and sort of lore- and gameplay-wise, too). on that channel, you’ll also find some shorts that don’t have to do with any particular mercenary. these shorts were made to coincide with the various in-game updates that have happened throughout the years (the most recent short being “jungle inferno,” released just a few months ago).

once you’ve gone through all of that, and if you find you wanna dive deeper into the lore of tf2, you could start reading the tf2 comics. i highly recommend them, they’re all written very well, have a great sense of humor, and have a surprisingly extensive and intriguing storyline. you can find them all here. the comics are broken up into sections: tf comics, update comics, and the saxton series. the saxton series are some silly vintage comic book covers that feat. ya boi saxton hale (current owner of mann co. and grandson of barnabus hale. also i didn’t mention this before but mann co. supplies the gravel war effort. jsyk). the saxton series isn’t really lore relevant. but the update and tf comics are. i highly recommend starting from the bottom of the page and working your way up. pay attention to the date the comic was uploaded (beneath the comic icon and title), and just read them in chronological order from oldest to newest. that way you won’t get confused or not know who’s who, what’s happening, etc. it’ll basically be like you were along for the updates without having to put up with the wait! speaking of which…

currently we’re all on the edge of our seats waiting for the next and final tf2 comic. been waiting for over a year and counting…

the last comic came two years after it’s predecessor, so….let’s just say you’ve got time. and plenty of it.

OKAY SO I THINK THAT JUST ABOUT BRIEFLY TOUCHES ON EVERYTHING U GOTTA KNOW. the rest of the story is lore stuff that you really should read in the comics. it’s worth it, trust me. and you just gotta experience the game for yourself. you can add me if you want (send me your steam profile) and we can play some. i’m always down for a few rounds :)

anyway, i hope this was helpful and not too tedious to get through. most importantly, i hope it encouraged you to get into tf2! it might seem daunting or a lot of stuff to take in at first, but it gets easier once you get a foothold. and you might decide that you don’t really care for the lore, only the game. or vice versa. but however you choose to enjoy it, it’s a great thing to experience, and i hope you choose to. i hope i helped at least a bit!

how do you take such good screenshots in skyrim? .3. i'm doing a similar Headcanon Playthrough and haven't had as much luck. svaki's a fuckin queen btw

Thank you!! Honestly most of it probably has to do with the lighting/weather mods I use, combined with how I use field of view. I constantly use the console to change the FOV, though I generally play with it at 90 (I think the default is 65-75 though), but most of my screenshots are somewhere between 30-60 (except for the occasional super-zoomed-out one).

Some of it honestly is just figuring out how to get the most out of flycam; finding the angles that work best for your character the same way you would for yourself when taking a selfie, etc. I know that sounds dumb but it’s honestly usually the thing I spend the first half hour or so of gameplay doing on every character lmao

But as for lighting/weather, I use Enhanced Lights and FX and Vivid Weathers. Highly recommend them both. I hate mods that really overhaul the way Skyrim feels, because the moods and aesthetics the game offers are part of why I love it so much, but these two really do feel like Skyrim, just with some added oomph. The latter makes weather a lot more immersive and makes the skies look way better, but the former is what provides all that soft, gorgeous lighting that frames my characters’ faces so beautifully

hi! i was wondering, do u perhaps have any tips on what to pay attention to when applying for a zine instead of making one?

I actually planned to cover that a bit during a later post in the series where I also wanted to talk a bit about zine etiquette for contributors, but I definitely can give you some pointers already (also I love to procrastinate, soooooo this ask is more than welcome haha)

THIS GOT REALLY OUT OF HAND SO THERE’S A READ MORE NOW ^^;

First of all, find a zine for something that you actually feel passionate enough about so that you want to create for it. You don’t want to create something for something you actually hate. Zines are supposed to be fandom fun with this feeling of professionalism, not something you absolutely need to drag yourself to work on.

I also wouldn’t apply to too many at once, especially with similar/overlapping schedules. 2-3 is reasonable if you have a life outside of the arts, like a job or school, but if you’ve got both going on, maybe reduce it to a max. of 2 at a time. If you’re basically freelancing and the zines would be your next projects, apply to as many as you actually know you can handle. Always assume you get into all of them, and plan accordingly. If you don’t get in - more time for other stuff. But especially from the perspective of a zine mod, don’t take on too many if you can’t handle it.

Always, always, ALWAYS pay attention to the zine’s schedule. Check before you even open the tab for the application that you actually got time for the zine. Always be as pessimistic as possible (but still realistically so) because you never know when you’ll be in an art/writing block. If especially final drafts are due around major deadlines from school/uni/anything else important to your life, do yourself a favour and opt out of this zine. You’ll be endlessly stressed and the mods don’t know what to do with you.If you decide on applying to the zine and got in, write down all deadlines in your calendar of choice (I actually have two different calendars so I mark that in both), and if you know yourself as that person who is really forgetful about deadlines, please do everyone a favour and put yourself reminders on what works best for you (alarms, countdowns, reminders via phone, sticky notes in your room, etc.)

Check if you meet all of the zine applicant’s requirements, and if not all, can you work on them so you fit in time before applications close? It’s not worth getting your hopes up if you end up not even being able to participate because they look for certain people.

I would also always check out the zine’s mods/admins and what kind of reputation they have. If they aren’t publicly mentioned anywhere on the zine’s blog/whathaveyou, I would rather evade the zine.Same goes for any weird feeling you get, be it through the language they use (e.g. unprofessional tonality like My Immortal/2000s chat language seems like the mods don’t take it seriously enough unless it is actually the zine’s theme, the use of slurs or inappropriate/rude statements), or appearance of the blog/twitter account, … I personally also would steer around people who are self-acclaimed “antis” even if they support your OTP, this still can get ugly as the atmosphere might be tense/not very welcoming, or even downright hostile.Remember that if you participate, you will be associated with the zine and the zine with you.If it is not a free downloadable zine, what happens with the earned money? If they don’t state anything about it, it really looks shady. Same goes for a claimed Charity Zine where you can’t access any information to which organisation(s) they want to donate.

If you are just starting out with zines, it might be wise to rather look for smaller ones and see what comes out of it. An all-applicants-get-in zine is hard to find nowadays I believe, but is still a good opportunity to just get to know deadlines with creative works in a larger project.

Always tell in advance that you (possibly) can’t make a deadline if you got into a zine. Running after people 24/7 is exhausting and annoying and definitely triggers the will to strangle someone much more than you sending a small e-mail with “I’m sorry but I can’t make the deadline because [I’m sick/my dog died/my exams are more stressful than expected/I have to cover for a coworker/we have a big family celebration/…], can I please get an extension (of XX days)?” - please for God’s sake don’t be embarrassed or even scared to tell such things, it happens but it’s always better to know such things a few days or even a day in advance instead of … a week after the deadline actually was supposed to happen. I promise you, bascially all of the mods are very understanding and definitely will help you figure out a solution.

Be kind to other participants and try to get to know them a little better. Fan projects are such a great way to make new friends and actually find people to collaborate with as well, additionally everyone benefits from a good atmosphere on the team. The great thing about most zines having discord channels nowadays is that you can actually communicate with other participants instead of mainly just the mods. Also, if you happen to check out the other contributors you might find several hidden gems of artists/writers!

A bit on portfolios:

Depending a bit on the zine, it always is better for you to have a small compilation of fanworks that actually deal with the zine’s characters/the source material, even if it’s just a more detailed/polished sketch or a slightly longer drabble (between 500 and 1000 words). If it isn’t already required in the application form, it at least shows interest in the source material and the zine itself.

As an artist, have actually polished pieces with (preferrably full-body) characters and real backgrounds (physically interacting characters are always great btw). Think about what you enjoy about zine pieces yourself - you usually don’t discover everything at the first sight, or they just downright awe you so it’s actually worth it to look through the zine once more. Show pieces that are of the same quality because you want to get into a zine. If you apply as a merch artist, also have at least one or two pieces that show a style suited for the merch you apply for.

As a writer, it is good to have at least one solid one-shot between 1-5k words. Mods want to know how you deal with the rather small wordcount that is typical for zines. I really would recommend especially writers to have at least one piece from the source material the zine’s about.

Also, I wouldn’t include anything that is older than max. 3 years, however good and awesome it is. Whether you are an artist or a writer, I will guarantee you that you won’t create works the same way as you did back then. At some point, it’s just dated and you’ll have to say goodbye for good.Mods want to know what they can expect from your zine piece, so it’s also better to have a good average than an outstanding outlier that you are highly unlikely to ever recreate. Show what you usually do with a little bit of extra sprinkles of what they might get, as it is a zine entry.If you have already participated in zines, maybe include one of these pieces, that way they know you have ~experience~ and it gives them more realistic expectations.

Be honest with yourself: Are you actually ready to be in a zine, and is your art of choice, too? If your skill-level barely goes beyond middle-school art class/creative writing, and/or you don’t really have a portfolio to actually show people, maybe hone your skills a bit more as you create more pieces and challenge yourself.

I hate to be that person but I think especially artists are over-eager and just apply whether or not they are even skilled enough. I can guarantee you that just a poorly executed headshot of a character isn’t even close to enough to get into 99% of the zines out there, same goes for conveniently hiding hands behind the character’s back or other strategically placed objects. Know your skill-level, and know when it’s actually realistic to go semi-professional with it, because even if it is about a fun fan experience, mods also want to present a solid product in the end. This is not to discourage you but more as a sisterly advice because when I looked through the apps of our zine, I saw applications on a level where I would have never even dreamt of participating in a zine when I was at that stage.
