As some one who ignores basically everything jkr says I personally think we should reject Albus Severus as a name and I vote Albus Regulus as the replacement.

It has the same ring to it.

I can see Harry continuing to have a positive view of Dumbledore

but I don't think knowing Snape loved his mother or was actually on their side would make him view Snape positively at all.

It keeps the whole things about the next gen kids living up their namesakes name because Al would be a Slytherin like Regulus and gay like Dumbledore

I’m curious to know your thoughts on the HPNG side of fandom. The marauders fandom like to act like they built the fandom and made the characters, meanwhile we had nothing to work off of but a play that focused on three characters.

I do not have much to say. They are not overwhelming. There is no "big" fic for next gen. There is no fic with hundreds of thousands of hits that dominates the space. The big ship "wars" are Scorbus or Scorose, Tedoire or Jeddy. Scorbus is the major next gen ship but it is a drop in the bucket compared to Marauders or Lightning Era. It is like the femslash stans. They are not so popular to make a big difference in fandom-wide characterisation.

It's not really my post, it's a reblog of a post. And the issue is quite simple, I believe that if someone wants to convince me to their opinion by a rude screaming, it is not worth wasting my time. Because people who are currently against HL are literally doing it. They don't support author of HP, so instead of really not supporting HER, they prefer for some reason: mix with mud other people, anonymously wish death and threaten & cause guilt in people who have a hobby. And they call it tolerance. Like it's not even about HL itself but about fact that there are people who "fight" for someone's rights in such an embarrassing way. For me it's just so stupid because HL is now on the lips and on good selling plus it doesn't hurt jkr in any way, she's still famous and rich. But who is this boycott really hurting? Literally ordinary people. Really, on this scale, do you think anyone cares if you buy a game for $60 or not? Jkr definitely not, and it's still about her apparently. Personally, I want to say that it's not just HL, in the HP fandom, where I used to draw HPNG arts regularly, anonymous insults and threats were the order of the day because people, instead of cutting themselves off from author and showing that without referring to her, we can create a pleasant community, prefer to jump at each other's throats.

Yeah, this reply was a bit longer than I expected but to be honest I gave up on HP because of so much hate in the fandom and now I'm just annoyed because such messages. For me it's toxic, if you want to fight for someone's rights in this way just know that jkr didn't care.

And yes, this will be the last one here about HP because I come to the conclusion that if someone does not support something, they skip it, not comment on it, righttttttt? Peace <3
