i have never done one of them tumblr videos but winter is the prettiest season here and i wanted to share the extremely specific sight of snow drifting off conifers and being caught in the afternoon sun

my goal craft-wise as a burgeoning little words doer is to be able to describe something like this and do it justice

#about me #about the MOUNTAINS #and my TREES #it's a strange thing to be responsible to a forest you know #to be a guest in a place with towering old hems and doug firs and stately ponderosas #a forest studded with glacial erratics the size of my old apartment #resting on the breast of a mountain range older than rockies #it's a strange thing to be a lifeform that's the exception and not the rule after a lifetime of cities #and for all i miss city things #and sometimes i do #for all the downsides of rural living #i am so glad for this #it fills me with an awful sadness to think i might've gone my whole life never living in a place like this #never learning to be comfortable in the dark #never learning how to know a bit of land #but mostly #never learning to be as soft as this place has made me #as gentle and animal and wondering and content #whoever has read all these tags hi now you know where all my oaths shit comes from lmao #outside the cabin

Artist note: I’m so proud of this :))) I know it’s a lot of dialogue and reading, but dialogue is grueling work for me. I’m glad with the art and for the amount of pages I made in such a relatively short time span -w- page 5 was super fun to work on.
