I swear to god teenagers have some sort of telepathic superpower they use to reach into your mind to find things about you to make fun of because how else would that random ass boy have known that i like rock music and then started mocking me for it

Ateez Reacting to catching their S/O (who isn’t Korean) singing one of their songs
How would Ateez react if they caught their s/o (who isn't Korean) singing one of their songs? - requested by @kpop-4-ever
Hongjoong-
Tumblr media
Hongjoong is already happy that you jam out to his songs
So when he heard you singing along to their songs in Korean, he died a happy man
He’d wait until the song was over to make his presence known
Hongjoong would be a man of many compliments on your pronunciation as he himself is learning English
He definitely cuddles you after an Ateez song marathon
The music thumped through the apartment as Hongjoong opened the door. Almost immediately, he recognized the sound of Mingi’s rapping, making him smile. He wanted to surprise you by coming home early, but it seems like he can wait a little longer before letting you know he was home. The door to your shared bedroom was cracked, allowing him to see you dancing and singing along to Thanxx. Hongjoong chuckled quietly, leaning against the doorway and opening the door a little more, wondering where he got such an adorable s/o.
The song faded out and you paused the music to get a drink. Hongjoong clapped and cheered, startling you. “H-Hongjoong. How long have you been there?” “Enough to see your cute little performance.” A bright red blush spread across your face as Hongjoong made his way over to you, pulling you close by your wrist, and kissing your head. “Your pronunciation was really good!” “I’ve been practicing so I can sing along with you,” You confessed, making Hongjoong smile. “How about we sing the next song together?”
Seonghwa-
Tumblr media
This boy loves you with all his heart
He knows you try to learn new words for him
Finds it cute when you mispronounce words and get frustrated
He’s a soft baby who’ll correct you and then cheer you on when you finally say it right
So when he heard you practicing with his part in Inception, his heart combust
You were huddled up at the desk, romanized lyrics to Inception pulled up on your screen, with your headphones plugged in as you repeated Seonghwa’s part. Your original plan was to surprise him, but you were adamant in getting the pronunciation correct first. Seonghwa smiled as he saw you at the desk, ready to sneak up and hug you. He had missed you, so much so that he planned a whole last minute date in the living room with take out and everything. Feeling good about your next round of practice, you rewinded to one of Seonghwa’s lines in Inception and easily glided through it stopping Seonghwa in his tracks.
“One more time, then I’ll be ready.” You played the song from the beginning, singing the parts you knew. Seonghwa held back a chuckle when you perked up, ready for his part. As it came on, Seonghwa sang along with you, scaring you. You quickly paused the video and clutched your chest. “PARK SEONGHWA! DON’T SNEAK UP ON ME.” “I’ll call you up to sing my part when I don’t feel good,” Seonghwa teased. “It’s not even that good,” You huffed, closing your computer. “Not good, my ass. That was perfect! I’ll tell you how good it is over dinner,” he cooed.
Yunho-
Tumblr media
Bub was just minding his business when Fireworks came on in the car
You squealed forgetting you were in the car with him
Legit swerved at the squeal, worried about you
But when you started bursting out in song happily, he calmed down and laughed
When the song ended though, you were embarrassed
Your phone was plugged into the car, allowing you to play your music. Feeling too lazy to choose a song, you pressed shuffle. You scrolled through tumblr, nodding your head to most of the songs. Yunho drummed his thumb against the steering wheel, singing along to the songs he knew. All was calm until Fireworks came on. You squealed and turned the radio up, startling Yunho. He swerved into the other lane that was thankfully empty. “Are you-” Yunho got caught off by you singing your heart out to the song.
He couldn’t help but chuckle and sing along. You forgot his presence as you got lost in the song. “I’M THE ONE IN MY ZONE!” Yunho couldn’t help but be impressed at how well you sang along to the song considering korean wasn’t your first language. His heart swelled when he looked over to see you creating your own little dance to the song. As the song ended, you were panting and out of breath, yet hyped up. “You’re adorable!” “Yunho!” You squeaked. “I forgot we were in the car.” “I can tell,” Yunho laughed, making you laugh too.
Yeosang-
Tumblr media
Yeosang was enjoying dinner when you ran in, Answer blaring on your phone
Almost immediately, he was choking on his drink as you sung your heart out
Help this boy
He tried to admire you but he was still catching his breath
Hides how proud of you he is behind the chicken
Yeosang had brought home some chicken for him since you said you weren’t hungry. He sat quietly at the kitchen table, enjoying the flavourful food. You ran in, Answer playing on your phone, singing along to the song as Yeosang was taking a drink, catching him off guard. Poor guy accidentally inhaled his drink, sending him into a coughing fit. You were too busy dancing and singing to notice. He finally got it under control, save for the few after coughs here and there.
Yeosang watched you, lovestruck. Boy was whipped. He noticed the song was ending so he immediately shoving chicken in his mouth. “I love this song, Sang!” You smiled, sitting on the chair next to him. “It’s okay, I guess. Don’t really like one of the guys,” he joked. “Really? Which one is that?” “Yeosang.” You laughed and kissed his cheek. “He’s my favourite.” Yeosang smiled behind his chicken, blushing. “He’s so cute and hot. And I love his singing,” You continued, making his ears turn red as well. “Well, I think his s/o is a good singer,” He complimented.
San-
Tumblr media
To San, you were the world.
He loved the way you always showed him all the support your body could handle
You two were watching a fan cam of him performing to Dancing Like Butterfly Wings
Sannie would watch as you sang along to the song
He would dance with you and make this your official song
San was tired after a long day of practice and shooting, so the first thing he did when he got home was lay down on the couch. You finally got him to take a shower and get cleaned up for the night. As soon as he got out, he sat next to you on the couch. “Are you watching fancams of me?” He asked. You shushed him as your favourite song came on: Dancing Like Butterfly Wings. The lyrics flowed passionately from your heart as you got up and swayed to the song. It was then he noticed how much you loved this song.
San smiled as he stood up, suddenly not feeling tired. He grabbed your hands and twirled you around, laughing at your cute smile. As the song ended, you hugged him tightly. “You are so precious, little one,” he whispered. You giggled at the nickname, remembering when he gave it to you. “What if I wasn’t little?” “I’d still call you little one. And, I’d still spin you around this room whenever our song came on.” You hummed against his chest. “Our song?” “I’ve made the decision that this is our song,” He smiled and you couldn’t help but laugh. “Let’s listen to it again.”
Mingi-
Tumblr media
Mingi is already so blushy around you
Baby boy would die when he heard you rapping his part in Illusion
Like y’all were doing some spring cleaning when the song came on
You busted out rapping and singing and Mingi’s admiring you
Asks you when you learned how to rap better than him
As an executive decision, both you and Mingi agreed to do some spring cleaning before Seonghwa came by to check the apartment. The two of you split up the chore list the best you could and spread out to conquer it quickly. You threw on some music in the living room, loud enough for it to be heard in each room, but quiet enough that you wouldn’t bother the few neighbours that were home. Most of it was Ateez’s discography, but you didn’t care as you happily hummed along to the songs.
You were dusting and polishing the wood furniture when Illusion came on. You sang along with the track, pushing through the raps the best you could. Mingi, who was cleaning the kitchen, stopped when he heard your voice and listened, admiring your skills. It took him some time just to rap a few lines in english and here you were, rapping in korean. He smiled cheesily, walking into the living room as the song ended. “Hey!” You turned around, worried. “When did you get better at rapping than me?” “Since never. You know that you are the king of rap, Mingi.” The boy blushed at your compliment. “Then that makes you the queen of rap, right?” “No.” Mingi nodded and tackled you in a hug. Who were you to protest the world’s tallest cutie?
Wooyoung-
Tumblr media
So you may or may not have thrifted a Pirate King inspired outfit
It made you feel badass, like you were a part of the song
You specifically played Pirate King while you stood in front of the mirror, dancing and making faces as you sang along
What you didn’t see, was Wooyoung walk in
He couldn’t help but laugh
After spending months, referring to the Pirate King music video, you finally found the perfect inspired outfit. When you put it on, you felt absolutely badass. You checked the clock on the wall. Wooyoung wasn’t going to be home for another hour or so, leaving you plenty of time to experience your little fantasy of being in the music video. You stood in front of the mirror and hit play, taking a deep breath. You started out strong, with mean looking facial expressions but as it went on, your expressions softened.
But, one thing you didn’t count on, was that you forgot to change the clock for spring forward. Wooyoung opened the door and called out for you. When you didn’t answer, he checked the bedroom, only to find you dancing in your outfit. He quickly took a picture to blackmail you in the future before laughing. You jumped and turned around to see Wooyoung doubled over, clutching his stomach. “Stop laughing, it’s embarrassing,” you pout. “You just look so...adorable,” he spoke in between breaths. “I hate you, Woo,” You huffed, pushing past him to change, redder than a tomato. “Love you too!” Wooyoung shouted after you.
Jongho-
Tumblr media
Okay so Jongho wasn’t expecting you to randomly burst into the room singing Wonderland
But, he wasn’t mad
You were just singing your heart out, occasionally mispronouncing something
He was definitely confused when you grabbed his uneaten apple as you were singing
Turns out, you were pretending to be him during his high note, although you couldn’t break the apple like him
Jongho was minding his own business, scrolling through the comments on instagram when you burst in with your headphones in. He was about to greet you when you cut him off, singing along to Wonderland. Baby couldn’t help but giggle at you. You sang the best you could, mispronouncing a few words here and there but Jongho found it endearing. He watched in amusement as you danced around the room, performing for him. You smiled as he cheered, getting an idea.
Jongho had an apple sitting beside him that he was planning on eating. You snatched it up, confusing him as to what you would need it for. It wasn’t until you hit the high note that he understood. He laughed as you attempted to break the apple like him. Unfortunately you couldn’t so you ended up tossing it back to Jongho. “HOw do YOu BREAK THe DAMN AppLES?” You pouted. “Because I’m strong. See?” Jongho broke the apple easily, handing half to you. “I wanna break an apple too.” “How about I teach you later?” You smiled and took the apple half.

Soft Tsukki
Tumblr media
A/N: I feel like tsukki wouldn’t be the way that most people portray him as. in my opinion, he’d be a soft boi, just waiting for the right person to come by and show him how to open up. (btw this takes place the 1st year of college)
Before Dating
tsukki would definitely be a smart cookie, scoring some of the highest grades in his classes
and that’s just one of the many things that attracts you to him
you also find it interesting how he always seems to be in his own little world, constantly having headphones on
youve noticed that he likes sitting in the back of the lecture hall, never asking questions
its like he already knows everything
you’d be curious about where he goes after class is over, so one day you lowkey follow him just to see what his routine looks like
but this sneaky motherfucker is not dumb, and you’re not the best at following from a distance
this man would legit turn around and walk up to you, straight up asking you, “what do you think you’re doing?”
his calm demeanor would catch you so off guard that all you can say is “ummm... uhhh.. you see... what had happened was..”
tsukki would scoff and walk away, thinking, “what the hell is wrong with her?”
after that, you’d be deadass scared of this man. but it would also make you so much more attracted to him
you decide to never try that again
~~~~~~~
later on in the semester, you find yourself studying in the library, but you realize youre having trouble with the material
and guess who sits across from you at the next table?
you look up and you see that he’s already staring at you, making you blush like crazy
next thing you know he moves his stuff and sits at your table, and asks, “are you having trouble with our class?”
your mind is racing a million miles an hour that you can only squeak out a barely audible “yeah..”
you’ve now unlocked study partner tsukki
this man has all the patience in the world and answers all of your questions in a way that helps you understand everything easily
you realize its 10pm already and almost everyone has left the library already, except you two
“hey, it’s late. thank you so much for all the help! i hope i didn’t use up too much of your time..”
“no problem. and nah you didn’t. teaching people is the way i study, so you’re helping me too. and uh, if you need any more help, just let me know. here’s my phone number..”
tell me why this smooth fucker would already have his phone number written down on a piece of paper
he’d pull it out like a goddamn business card
you’d hold out your hand to grab it from him and you feel his calloused hands and it makes you  s h i v e r
you just touched him omg
after this first study session, you two study together for the rest of the semester
both yours and tsukki’s grades improve immensely
he starts getting 100%’s and you get 85%’s
yall are doing great
~~~~~~~
finals week comes in so fast and suddenly the feeling of dread makes its way into your mind
you didn’t think about this before but this may be one of the last times you get to be with him.. you won’t have an excuse to be near him anymore
it’s 3 days before your class’s final exam and you try to bring it up. in a shitty fashion, but you do it nonetheless
“hey, tsukishima.. uh so you know how class will be ending soon? i just wanna know.. what’s gonna happen?”
“what do you mean? we’re gonna take the exam and pass. and then we’ll be on to the next semester.”
“ugh, i know that. i meant.. what’s gonna happen with us?”
this man turns around so fast so that you don’t notice the way his cheeks have turned bright red
“we won’t have to study anymore for this? i don’t understand your question.” he says, but he knows exactly what you’re trying to say. he’s only playing dumb to get you to say it out loud. poor tsukki would never say it himself.
“i’m trying to say, uh, will i still see you? tsukishima,.. i really like spending time with you..”
my mans would literally mumble “me too” under his breath because he can’t believe it either
thank god you have sharp ears or else you wouldnt have heard it
“do you really?! can we hang out sometime? something not school related?”
tsukki wouldn’t even be able to speak because he’s so flabbergasted that you basically asked him out
“why aren’t you answering? you’re making me nervous..”
he’d still be tongue tied so all he would do is nod yes, and smile shyly
~~~~~~~
once finals are over, you two start texting each other in an effort to get to know each other on a deeper level
you figure out that this man is your musical soulmate
you both listen to all the same bands and love the same songs
its crazy how compatible you two are
you’re so antsy over seeing him in a different light that you text him first
“so.. when do you wanna go out? and what do you want to do?”
“whatever you want.”
“wanna go grab some frozen yogurt and go feed the ducks some seeds?”
“sure.”
“how’s tomorrow around noon sound?”
“it’s a date.”
tsukki at this point is internally SCREAMING because he can’t believe he just said that
you, on the other hand, you just stopped responding
you cant believe that its finally happening and that you didnt have to ask if it was a date
however, you weren’t 100% sure because he could have been kidding? oh well, you’ll find out on the day of the “date”
First Date
he’d come over to your place so you could walk together to the frozen yogurt shop
you’d get some vanilla, with mango yogurt and add in some oreos and gummy worms.
tsukki would see you get your order and make some snide remark like, “wow i didn’t know you were so basic”
you’d just roll your eyes and look at him get what he wants, and this man would literally just get vanilla and add chocolate syrup
“well, at least i’m not as basic as you”
he wouldn’t even have a comeback for that
you’re BOTH basic bitches, but that’s just another reason why you two work so well together
you’re about to buy your yogurt when he slips between you and the cashier and PAYS for yours too
he doesn’t even ask you, he’s already paid for you
you thank him and he says “it wasn’t even that much, since you’re so plain”
salty tsukki has come out to play today lol
you two make your way to the park and you take out the bird seed from your bag so you can feed the ducks
you sit down in front of the lake (or pond or whatever) and start feeding the cuties
all tsukki can do is stare at you and how beautiful you look doing something so mundane
you feel his eyes glaring into your soul and all you can do is try your hardest not to look at him
“hey, i never asked, but what’s your major?” he asks
“im a biology major, and you?”
“well that makes sense since you like being around ducks like this.” he chuckles to himself. “i’m a music major.”
“huh, i never would have figured that out.. what with your headphones always plugged in”
“yeah, i hope to become a producer one day.”
“i hope you make it” you smile at him and this makes tsukki’s heart EXPLODE
you stop feeding the ducks and lay down, staring at the clouds
there are always breaks in your conversation, but it isn’t awkward or anything. it’s comfortable, and tsukki appreciates it, although he’ll never admit it. he hates admitting anything
he lays down next to you, and your hand slowly starts to inch towards his, and he’s doing the same.
the moment both your fingertips meet, you feel an electric shock
he apologizes but then continues to interlock your fingers
“is this okay?” he asks
“mhhm. it feels... nice.”
“good”
tsukki smiles to himself and starts daydreaming about how he’s going to ask to kiss you next
S/O that thirsts over anime/game guys
reposted bc wasn’t showing up in the tags + I want to keep nsfw under the cut
@nononononojustno asked: Okay so could you write a headcanon where 2 random boys (can you pick then? I love all of boys from hq) and Ushi-kun where they walk on their gfs fangirling or thirsting over another anime/game character?And she was talking how hot he is? How they would react?👀😂 have a great day/night and dont forget to eat and get rest, love you💕
A/N: hahahahaha i laughed while writing this. FYI these are all based on legit crushes i had on anime/game characters at some point in my life - see if you’ve watched the shows i’ve watched :) ILY I PROMISE I’M DOING MY BEST TO EAT THREE MEALS A DAY AND GET ADEQUATE SLEEP MWAH. also i went overboard and added an extra boy bc why not. These are a little shorter since there were 4 characters but I hope you enjoy!
Content warning: implied nsfw for Atsumu + slight nsfw hcs for Matsukawa (both are under the cut)
PS: If anyone wants a spicy sequel/one shot for matsukawa i’m open to the idea 👀👀 let me know in my inbox!
Ushijima Wakatoshi
Ushijima definitely knows you’re into anime + games
Having visited your dorm room on multiple occasions he’s seen your extensive collection of manga, anime posters and you always seem to be playing on your switch whenever you have free time
Of course, he notices a significant portion of your collection is centered on male characters
And you’ve definitely mentioned a few games to him - Ikemen Sengoku, Code:Realize, Hakuouki (wow i’m really out here exposing myself) etc.
He doesn’t really mind though? Like - at the end of the day these are 2D men, whereas he is a very real boyfriend
At least he thinks he doesn’t mind
Recently, he notices that you seem to be on your phone a lot, and you seem to be texting the same group chat very often
He asks why and you laugh - it’s not actual text messages you’re just trying out a new otome/simulation game called Mystic Messenger. He finds the name silly but he just brushes it off he’s definitely J E A L O U S
Until one day he walks into your room while you’re calling one of your friends to freak out about that specific game
You sound kind of teary from outside the door “Oh MY GOD OH MY GOD I GOT THE GOOD ENDING WITH JUMIN!” and “[friend name] I THINK I CAN DIE HAPPY I’M MARRIED TO JUMIN HAN WHAT MORE DO I NEED IN LIFE” and “HE’S SO FREAKING ATTRACTIVE UGH I AM BLESSED”
He’s like who TF is Jumin and immediately bursts into your room looking pissed off
Poor babie is all like “you’re married?” and “if you had someone else you were interested in you should have told me.” “Who is this Jumin Han???” 🧐
Oh my god you start cackling, but you manage to tell him that NO you are not married and that Jumin Han is a fictional character from the game you’re playing
Ushijima looks confused after you explain - why would you find fictional men attractive when you’re already dating him?
Tendou almost dies laughing the next day when Ushijima tells him about what happened
Oikawa Tooru
Since practice finishes pretty late he usually goes to see you at your house at night, but tonight things wrapped up earlier - he’s excited to spend more time with you
You’ve finished up most of your homework so you’ve just been rewatching Attack on Titan since you’re super excited for the new season
You’re kinda distracted/have headphones on so you don’t hear your boyfriend knock on the front door. Your mom answers it and lets him in and he climbs the stairs
He can hear your fangirling (freaking out) over something as he walks towards your room
You jump in surprise when he opens the door, because you thought he would be a bit later but immediately release your pent up excitement
“Tooru just LOOK at him he’s such a bad ass like oh my gosh he literally has swords and he’s still running around slaying the MPs who have guns. God whenever he gets angry he looks so hot,” etc. etc.
You’re shoving your laptop in his face, showing him gifs and video of attack on titan, specifically the captain of the survey corps that you are obsessed with
Tooru gets it - for him its space, shitty alien films and astronomy. For you it’s video games and anime - or more specifically, handsome characters from said franchises
Even though he understand that it’s something you’re passionate about he still makes a whole show about whining how you’re in love with Levi Ackerman (lmao i still thirst over our favorite captain) instead of him
“y/n i’m taller than him! And more handsome! He has blood on him all the time! And he’s super annoying because he’s obsessed with cleaning.” *cue pouty Tooru*
You probably shouldn’t tell him that you are an avid follower of the levi x reader tag on tumblr
Tooru still somehow finds out you’re also reading reader insert fanfic and goes BERSERK with his pouting and whining - literally everyone and their mothers have heard his sob story about how “his darling y/n is leaving me for a short germaphobic asshole”
The rest of the team finds it hilarious - the end up pranking him by posting pictures of Levi in his school locker or texting them in the volleyball groupchat (Oikawa is Suffering™)
Makki and Mattsun get him a Levi keychain for his birthday and cackle when he chucks it violently into the nearest trash can
Miya Atsumu
Doesn’t really know you’re into anime/gaming at first
I don’t think that’s on purpose - Atsumu just has such a one track mind when it comes to volleyball and he’s always busy with practice
so he just kinda doesn’t really give all the anime merch in your room a second glance even though it’s a dead giveaway
I bet Atsumu secretly watches some superhero anime - probably shounen stuff like My Hero Academia, one punch man etc.
He probably starts to notice you’re into anime/games because you’ll play games on your phone/gaming device all the time
One day he notices you’re giggling + blushing while looking at your screen. He’s curious to he heads over to you when coach says they can have a break
Peeks over your shoulder because he wants to know what you’re playing - but instead he’s greeted by some 2D samurai guy called Harada Sanosuke asking you to marry him
“Huh, I didn’t know you were into this kinda stuff y/n” tries to sound playful but internally he is screaming / ?????? WOT I DIDN’T KNOW MY S/O WAS INTO OTOME GAMES
Atsumus pretty chill about it at first, he probably teases you a lot about playing the game but isn’t really bugged about it
“Maybe you should thirst over your boyfriend instead of a fictional character babe~”
I mean - he knows he’s attractive and why be jealous? You only really play the game when he’s busy and you don’t really let the game play seep into your dates/hangouts
But one time he walks in on you reading some ~spicy~ hakuouki x reader fanfic and he’s like are u serious
Like you were lowkey quiet screaming to yourself and muttering “omg omg omg” when he walked in and you definitely tried to close your laptop so he couldn’t see what was open in your browser
Too bad Atsumu has mad reflexes and manages to prevent you from making your computer go to sleep
Briefly skims whatever it was that you were reading and smirks at you
“Hey, if you really want something like this, why don’t you let your real boyfriend deliver” before kissing you
Matsukawa Issei
Look, Issei just wants a chill movie/tv show night where the two of you can bundle up on the couch and binge whatever anime you feel like
Has everything set up - this man is ready to go: snacks? he has all of your favorites, couch? filled with soft pillows + multiple pillows. Attire? Comfy sweatpants shirtless 🥵
Last time he chose the series for your binge sleepover so he let you choose what the two of you were gonna watch this time
Turns out you decided to watch Psycho-Pass - it seemed like a pretty cool show, he was down with the whole dystopia/psychological concept
Starts out pretty normal, is appreciating the action + mystery elements and is glad that you chose that show
About halfway through the anime you two decide to take a break - he goes to the kitchen to refill your snacks, leaving to stretch you back.
When he comes back with more food, he notices that you’re hunched over your phone, typing something
He sneaks up behind you after he puts the food down, “Whatcha reading there babe?” You squeak and try to hide your phone, but not before he sees the words kougami x reader typed into your tumblr search bar
Lit-rally exCuSE me what - he’s not mad (more amused than anything else) but he also kind wants to tease you (bc Mattsun is a little shit)
“Is that the reason you wanted to watch this show?” he asks playfully. “He’s pretty hot tho, I kinda agree with you there babe.”
Now that he’s released the floodgate, he can’t stop your occasional comments like “omg how does he look so GOOD when he’s punching someone” or “he could shoot me with his dominator and i’d still say thank you”
The thirst comments are kinda getting to him, so he decides to take things in a different direction
“Let me what I can show you with my dominator~” L M A O I’M SORRY THIS EXISTS
Suddenly you’re being pulled onto his lap, and pressed against his bare chest, Issei barely gives you time to adjust before he’s kissing you roughly, tongue plunging into your mouth
His hands wrap around your hips pressing your core closer to his own, and you can feel his hard-on pressing into your stomach
He’ll be sure to suck a dark hickey onto the side of your neck and his hands travel under your shirt, just to remind you who your real boyfriend is
Needless to say, you won’t remember a single thing about the second half of the show after the night is over couch sex? Couch sex 😏
Unnatural Affairs. Chapter 2: Let the Good Times Roll.
When I woke up the next morning, my eyes were achy and itchy. Falling asleep after spending most of the evening crying might have had something to do with that. I groaned as I reached for my glasses, deciding that I definitely needed a shower. I grabbed my soaps, shampoo and conditioner, flip flops, towels, and headed towards the communal shower area.
Luckily for me, there was no one here when I got there. I turned on the water, letting it heat up as I set up my things. I pulled the curtain across and got to washing all the eye boogies off my face. The warmth of the shower was very much needed as it ran down my body. I started feeling more like myself again as I scrubbed all the night grime off. I spent a few extra minutes, just enjoying the feeling of the warm water against my skin. If I closed my eyes, I could convince my mind that I felt great about this whole thing.
Then my stomach rumbled. I realized that I really didn’t have much of an appetite after my chat with dad and emotional break down with mom. I hadn’t eaten much of anything since lunchtime yesterday. The allure of food was more than enough to convince me to leave the comfort of the shower. I quickly wrapped a towel around both my body and hair. I gathered everything up and shuffled out of there. I peeked my head around the corner, feeling self-conscious of the fact that I had to go back to my room practically naked. I dashed back to my room and closed the door as quickly and quietly as possible. Sarah was still sleeping, thank God.
I got dressed and towel dried my hair the best I could. I didn’t bother with anything fancy today, since I was going to be spending most of my day standing in line to get my textbooks. I wasn’t going to wait around and end up spending hours of my school time there, so I planned to do it today.
I checked myself in the mirror before leaving. Just plain black leggings and a over large t-shirt that read ‘how-to pick-up chicks’ with a picture of a stick figure picking up a baby chicken. I adjusted my glasses to make sure they were straight, and I tossed my hair over to one side, trying to give it some style. I said I wasn’t going to be fancy, but I’m also not going to go out looking like I woke up from a rager.
I grabbed my purse, student card and my phone, and left the room. The sun was shining brightly overhead once I got outside, trying to squeeze out those last few days of summer. It felt good on my skin, and I thought about maybe eating outside. That would be nice.
Yawning as I made my way to the meal hall, my thoughts of my new classes and the new people I would meet wormed its way into my head. I knew I would do well in most of my classes, except for maybe some of the science ones. The issue was making friends. It’s not like I had hard a terrible time making them or anything, but my disposition ended up pushing away a lot of people. Then of course, the conversation I had with my dad popped up like an unwanted house guest. Dammit, he really knew how to get in my head.
I was practically storming as I walked into the meal hall. It was actually nicer than I thought it would be. There was quite bit of space, with nice large tables. It was also clean, which was a huge plus. Of course, move in day was literally yesterday. Maybe give it a week or so, and it would change. I walked down the stairs, letting the smell of food knock me out of my foul mood.
I loaded my plate up with hash browns, two fried eggs, bacon, and toast. I was starving and couldn’t wait to eat. I was about to head outside when I saw familiar strawberry blonde hair and I found myself walking towards it.
Shyly I approached the table where Lyn sat by herself. She was nearly dozing off in her seat, her plate empty in front of her. I tapped her shoulder, causing her to jolt awake.
“Wha’?” she blinked a few times and looked over her shoulder, smiling when she saw me. “Oh, hey Ally, wassup?”
“I was hoping I could sit with you?”
“Be my guest,” she said with a yawn. Her hair was tied up in a loose bun today, instead of that tight ponytail she had yesterday, and she wasn’t wearing the paint either, revealing all her freckles that were splashed across her nose and cheeks, like I suspected.
“How’d you sleep on your first night? Any crazy parties for you, or was the noise enough?”
I shook my head. “I’m not really a party girl, honestly. And I mean, the noise was definitely something I need to get used to. But my roommate seems really cool and at least that’s something. I was worried I was going to have a horrible roommate, like some of the horror stories I read about.”
Lyn cupped her chin and was leaning against the table as she listened to me. I wonder if anyone ever told her she had an intense stare. Even in her sleepy state, I know her focus was entirely on me as I spoke. It wasn’t uncomfortable or anything like that, more like an observation. She smirked into her hand and said, “I had one of those in first year.”
“What? Really?”
She nodded, still not taking her eyes off me. “Oh, hell yeah. She was so strange. She ironed all her shit in the room, told me I wasn’t allowed to cross the line she taped to the floor unless it was a necessity, and legit told me that I couldn’t listen to my music too loudly with my headphones in. Like, this girl was on something, I swear. Eventually, I broke down and requested to be switched out. Thank God, they moved her into a single dorm, and I got to stay. That’s when Nura moved in, and she’s awesome. We get along like PB and J, you know? I’m rarely in there anyhow, with practice and work, but still. Gotta feel welcome in your own home, you know?”
She ends with that a lot, I noted. It was endearing. I nodded in agreement. “I get that. Sometimes it was hard to um…go home after school. I don’t always get along with my dad, so it was awkward to go home.”
Lyn winced. “Shit, sorry. That’s crappy, not feeling like home is a safe place.” She sat up and leaned back, staring up at the ceiling. “Dammit, Hart, you ruined the mood.”
“No, no! You didn’t do that at all,” I said quickly. “I was the one who brought it up in the first place!”
“I was the one who was all like ‘feel welcome in your home’,” she groaned. “Listen, I’ll make it up to you, yeah? You can ask me one thing, anything you want.”
“That seems really extreme…”
She shrugged. “I’m pretty much an open book.”
I bit my lip in thought, not really sure what to ask her. I didn’t know her all that well, but the offer to get to know her better was intriguing. Still, nothing really came to mind, and I ended up shaking my head. “Can I cash it in later?”
Lyn laughed, “Sure thing, Ally.”
We ended up talking for awhile longer about general things, like what majors we were taking and our favourite bands. Just simple stuff. Talking to Lyn was really easy. She laughed for no reason and had an infectious smile. When she was excited about something, she ended up bouncing her leg under the table. I’m not sure what it was about her that calmed me down, honestly. But she did. Maybe it truly was just her easy-going nature, but she seemed like a genuine person. Eventually, I had to get going to grab my books, much to my disappointment. I knew that once school started for real, I wasn’t going to be able to hang around her as much. It sounded like she had a lot more on her plate than I did.
As we both stood, I worked up the courage to ask for her number. That way, I could at least keep in touch with her by text. When I did, her eyes narrowed as a smirk appeared on her face.
“Sure, totally, Ally,” she took my phone from me, her fingers brushing against my hand as she did. “I don’t usually give my number out to anyone, but I will for you, since you’re cute and all,” she handed my phone back with her smirk still firmly in place.
Damn, that something I wasn’t expecting. I know I was blushing, but I tried to play it cool. I got the feeling yesterday that Lyn was a flirty kind of person, but I’m not entirely sure what her whole situation is.
“Thanks. I just know once school starts, we’ll both be pretty busy,” I said, looking away. Yeah, play it cool.
“Totally, just playing, you know?”
“Ha, totally.”
She pulled out her own phone and checked the time. “Yikes, gotta head out for real, though. Let’s try and hang before classes start, yeah? I’ll see you around, Ally!” With that, she left. But not before giving me her signature wink on the way out.
I tried to stop myself from smiling, but it was so hard. She really did have an infectious nature to her.
As I had hoped, there weren’t that many people at the bookstore. The line was a little long, but not so crazy that I would regret my choice in footwear. The bookstore itself was small, with not a lot of room to navigate. The lady behind the counter seemingly was 100 years old and was certainly moving like one. The only reason why this was taking a long time was literally because of her.
I tapped my foot along to the song I was listening to. I have to say, while I don’t love the lyrics, drivers license was a pretty catchy song. I missed the days of women writing songs telling men who did wrong by them to eff off. There was something cathartic about it all. Still, can’t deny a good song when I heard it. I was pretty content to stand there idly until someone tapped my shoulder.
I looked over, but there was no one there. Maybe the guy behind just hit me by accident? Shaking my head, I went back listening to the music when I felt the tap again. Again, there was no one there. Slowly, I take one earphone out and can hear the sounds of someone whispering around me. My eyes widened in understanding horror of what was happening.
There’s a freaking ghost trying to get my attention.
Inwardly I groaned, but I kept a neutral face on the outside. Well, except for the frantic look around I did with my eyes. There, in the corner. I turned slowly, trying not to draw too much attention to me as I did.
There is a ghost, looking no older than me, with some fancy hair cut and a nice suit on. He’s got a wicked grin on his face as we made eye contact. He floated over to stand directly in front of me.
“So, you can see me after all,” he said. All ghosts have this tinny tone to their voice, as if they’re talking through a bad phone call or something.
I nodded slowly but don’t dare say a word. There are way too many people around right now.
He tilted his head in a mostly human way, until it creeps a little bit past his shoulder, like his neck was broken. “Can’t you speak? You’re not one of those mutes, are you? Not that that’s an issue, but I was hoping to get someone who could share my story.”
Sighing through my nose, I pulled out my phone and typed out a message. I can talk, just not here. Too many people. Can it wait?
The ghost squinted at the screen, clearly able to read what I wrote. He frowned as we make eye contact again.
Oh Christ. I didn’t like the look in his eyes. He looked like he didn’t agree with me one bit. Some ghosts understood that most people can’t see them and that it makes a person look insane if they just start talking to thin air, while others just didn’t care. I had a bad feeling that this one fell in the second category.
He reached over, his hand going through my face. I felt the cold sliminess as he pulled his hand back through, and it takes my entire will power to not shudder or vomit on the spot. I really hated when they did that.
I wasn’t sure if it was normal for them to be able to touch people. I honestly never looked into too deeply, as it was best to avoid talking about it at all. But not for the first time do I regret that decision from 14-year-old me. I should have just used public library sources and at least had a better understanding of these things. But nope, I didn’t want to do anything out of the ordinary. Stupid.
“Human, all I want is for someone to listen to me and tell them what happened,” he said snootily. He reminded me of some popular guy who was used to people doing what he wanted on the drop of a hat.
I shuffled forward in the line a little. There were only three people ahead of me. I turned my head slightly, pulling my earphones up, hoping to God it looked like I was talking into the mic. “Listen, buddy. I am very happy to listen to you, but after I get out of here!” I hissed as quietly as possible.
Now he looked pissed off. Once again, he reached for me, as if that would make a difference. Except this time, it does. I can’t help but violently shudder as I stumbled back, reeling from the sudden shock of falling to my death. I don’t know if it was murder or suicide, but regardless, I feel the impact as my body hits the ground. My books tumbled out of my arms as I began to hyperventilate.
Oh my God, breathe Ally, BREATHE!
How could I breathe when I feel my neck snapping, but I don’t die right away? How can I breathe when I feel my skull leaking my brains all over the pavement? My vision is getting narrow as I trembled on the floor.
Okayyoujustneedtotakeadeepbreathlikemomtaughtyouinandoutinandoutcountto7holdfor7right?
My thoughts were racing and jumbled, my breathing definitely not slowing down in the slightest. We make eye contact one last time, me and the stupid selfish ghost. He was looking down at me with absolutely no pity or guilt at all. The look he was giving me suggested that if I had just done what he wanted, everything would have been fine.
I closed my eyes and forced myself to take a deep breath, but it didn’t work. I was still hyperventilating, my vision getting spotty. There is someone next to me, maybe another student. Quite frankly, I don’t really know much at this point. I felt someone, someone alive that is, take my hand and help me towards the door.
Yup, this is exactly how I expected my trip to the bookstore to be.
XXX
I woke up in my own bed, my mouth dry. I remember going outside and telling them to give me my purse. I took my Ativan and got back to my residence with the help of someone. I seriously can’t tell you who. Judging from how dark it was, it must be nighttime. Groggily, I sat up and reached for my glass of water instinctively. Except, it’s not there. Because I’m in a dorm, not my house. So, there is no night table with my water. I forced myself to get up and head towards the bathroom.
I washed my face and mouth, taking sips of water as I do. When I looked into the mirror, all I saw was my own pathetically pale face staring back at me. Day 2 and already I failed dad. Goddammit, the school might call my parents to tell them I had a panic attack at the bookstore. How humiliating. Not even a day away from home and I fall apart.
I can’t stop the tears as they fall down my face. I feel like garbage and I know I look like it too. I break down, using the sink as support. I feel like such an idiot. My mom wanted me to take a year off, maybe do some traveling. She probably knew that the stress of being away from home wasn’t going to be great for my stupid anxiety. As the sobs rack my body, someone’s timid knock draws my attention.
Sarah pokes her head into the bathroom, a look of worry on her face. She walked right in and pulled me away from the sink, embracing me.
“I’m here for you, Ally.” That’s all she said, but it strikes me deeply. This girl barely knows me but is here in this stupid bathroom, holding me tightly. Goddamn, how were some people just that good?
So there we stood, in the bathroom. She just held on to me, whispering into my ear and rubbing my back. I couldn’t say or do anything, so I just rested my head on her shoulder until I finally felt okay enough to head back to our room together.
As expected, I had a voicemail from mom when I bothered to check my phone in the morning. Well, more like afternoon. I stayed in bed all day, wearing my sloth covered PJ bottoms and my favourite hoodie. I basically watched one movie after another, just to keep my mind off things. Sometimes you really needed to take a ‘me day’.
Sarah left after checking to make sure I was feeling better. She said something about getting some good food and better desserts to cheer me up. I gotta do something nice for her after I was feeling better.
I stared at the screen, wondering if I should listen to the voicemail when a text appeared there. I was confused for a minute until I saw it was from Lyn. Then shame filled me, stopping me from opening it. She probably thought it was so lame that I had a panic attack in the stupid bookstore.
So, I ignored it. I didn’t want the only other person on this campus who I knew to think I was some pathetic loser.
Well, that only worked until my phone lit up again, this time with a phone call. I really didn’t want to answer it, so I declined the call.
Sarah walked into the room, holding two huge bags. “Okay, so like, I got some super yum food to help you feel better.”
“You really didn’t have to do that,” I mumbled into my hoodie.
“Sorry? Can’t hear you when mumble like that,” said Sarah. She plopped down on the bed and opened the first bag, pulling out a bunch of Taco Bell. The second bag had cupcakes and mini cheesecakes in it. I couldn’t believe that she did all this just for me.
She handed me a handful of Taco Bell things. I wasn’t even sure what most of it was, since my parents and I rarely ate fast food like this. But my God, it smelled amazing. I opened one up and took a tentative bite. It was so good right now. It was like Sarah knew I just needed some junk, just salty goodness.
“Yas! I like, was hoping that would work,” she said triumphantly. She noticed my phone was vibrating and picked it up, staring curiously at the screen. “Who’s Lyn? She’s called you like, 3 times. Is she your sister?”
I shook my head, stuffing more in my face. With some difficulty, I swallowed and took my phone back from her. “I just met her the other day. I guess she heard about the whole bookstore incident and wanted to check in…”
“But?”
“But I don’t want her to think less of me…”
Sarah made a disgusted face. “Ally, if someone thinks less of someone because they have anxiety, then they need to like, check themselves. So many people have mental health stuff going on. Like, seriously girl. I think she honestly just wants to make sure you’re okay.”
I stared at my phone, knowing that Sarah was probably right. Still, I wasn’t sure I was ready for that conversation. What was I going to say anyway? Hey, everything is totes fine now. Just had a panic attack because some jerkass ghost demanded I see how he gruesomely died, except didn’t bother to tell me who I was supposed to tell. So yeah, basically went through something extremely traumatic for absolutely no reason at this time. How was your day?
Yeah, that wasn’t going to fly. Instead, I fired off a text that just said, I’m doing okay now. Thanks for checking in. I don’t really feel like talking about it right now.
There. Straightforward and easy. When I got a message from Lyn, this time I opened it. Ok, let me know if u do wanna talk. I’ll be here.
“I guess I should call my mom, huh?” I said, looking over at Sarah, who was attempting to stick a whole mini cheesecake in her mouth.
She smiled unabashedly at me and swallowed. “Oh, I think you like, should, but no pressure. If you need to take time, then like, take your time.”
I gave a little laugh as I handed her a napkin for her face. It felt good to laugh. Sarah laughed too, as she wiped whipped cream off her lips. She handed me a mini cheesecake and we both attempted to shove the whole thing in without making a mess of ourselves. I giggled as I tried very hard not to make a mess, only to end up smearing a whole streak of chocolate sauce on my face somehow.
Sarah wasn’t much better off, with whipped cream on her nose this time. We ended up taking silly photos of each other and drank a ton of the pop she brought from Taco Bell. We ate and joked around for the next little while, until I finally worked up enough courage to listen to my mom’s voicemail. I excused myself and told her I was going to make the call.
I sat outside, the afternoon sun warm on my face. I don’t love the idea of making this call out in the open, but I didn’t want to kick Sarah out of her room either. It is what it is, I guess. I opened up my voicemail and listened to mom’s message.
“Hey, baby. How are you doing? Dad and I got the call and I just wanted to make sure that you’re doing better? Was there something that triggered it? Or did it just happen out of the blue? Either way, just call me back so I know you’re doing better now. Love you, Alexandra. Bye-bye.”
I scrolled to my mom’s name on the call list and hit call, listening to my phone ring in my ear. She picked up after the third ring. “Hello? Alexandra, is that you, baby?”
“It’s me, mom.”
“Thank goodness! Are you okay?” I could hear the concern dripping from her tone.
“I’m doing fine, yeah.”
“Okay, I’m glad to hear it. Can you tell me what happened?”
This was the part I wanted to avoid but knew I couldn’t. I shifted to get more comfortable and told my mom everything that happened. I wanted her to understand that everything about the whole situation was basically non-consensual. If I had the choice, I never would have spoken to that stupid preppy ghost in the first place. I wondered if my dad was listening in as I explained it all. I honestly hoped he wasn’t.
There was silence at the other end while I waited for mom to take it all in. I didn’t realize I was holding my breath until mom said, “Okay.”
I sighed in relief.
“It sounds like that was…different? They’ve never done that to you before, right?”
Kind of think of it, no. That was different. Of course, when I was younger, I would just speak to them normally anyway. But that? I’ve never had a ghost do that to me, ever. I’ve never felt so violated before. It was strange…
After talking to mom a bit longer, I finally hung up and laid in the grass, looking up at the clouds. Was there something about this area that made them stronger, maybe? I really shouldn’t be thinking too much about it, but I also didn’t want that to happen again. Maybe I could walk down to the store tomorrow and see if they had anything that warded off spirits. I might also do some research, just to make sure.
So much for being ‘ordinary’, huh?
That morning before I even stopped at my locker I went to find Taylor. He was behind the school; sat at a picnic table. He had headphones on and looked like he was trying to block the world out.
I walked up to him and slammed my hands on the table, getting his attention. He pulled off his headphones as he cut me with a cold glare, not willing to make the first move.
"Where did you go last night? You made my sister think I'm crazy." I said.
"My parents don't exactly allow me to leave the house when I do, so I hid when I heard someone coming."
"You disappeared in seconds."
"I'm fast." He shrugged, ready to put his headphones back on.
"My sister wasn't going to tell your parents that you were out."
"I didn't know that. You have a stick up your ass, so it'd make sense for her to as well."
"I do not have a stick up my ass."
"I beg to differ."
The bell rang and Taylor motioned towards the school.
Without another word I turned to the school and left him at his table.
I didn't see Lillith that day until after school when she caught me leaving the building. She fell into step next to me; curiosity graced her flawless features.
"Where were you this morning?" She asked.
"I was dealing with some business."
"Ooo, spooky. Do tell." She leaned forward in a desperate attempt to catch my eye and I rewarded her action with a small smile.
"There was a boy," Lillith's face fell the second those words left my mouth. "Don't worry, Lillie, I'm not into him. I just had to talk to him about something that transpired last night. It was nothing too big though."
"What trans… trans… happened- what happened last night that you had to talk about with him?"
"We crossed paths on our evening walks and he randomly disappeared."
"You go for walks?"
"Yeah, sometimes I have nightmares and going for a walk helps calm my mind."
"You can always call me if you have a nightmare."
"Father doesn't allow us to have cell phones."
"Wait," she stopped and put a hand out to stop me as well, "so you don't have a phone."
"No, I don't."
"Then how do you talk to your friends?"
"We're currently talking."
"No, like when you're not face to face."
"I don't. I don't have any friends."
"I'm your friend!" Why does she insist on pitying you?
"I don't need your pity."
"It's not pity. I legit think you're cool." Now she lies to you.
"Whatever, my father is here."
"Ok, I'll see you tomorrow morning then!" She skipped off towards her mom's car and I was left with her words ringing through my head.
The morning of Halloween Mr. Poe was even more active than normal. With everything happening he was stressed out and was, in turn, stressing me out as well.
What if Lillith is just pranking you. What if Lillith thinks you're stupid. You're just going to make a fool of yourself. You suck anyway. It makes no sense why anybody would want to be your friend. Lillith hates you she hates-
"Luna?" Lillith touched my shoulder and I jumped away from her, suddenly remembering where I am. Standing in front of my locker. "Are you ok?"
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just some nerves about tonight. I don't go out often."
"Don't worry about it. My mom is going to pick us up after school then we're gonna stop at my house to get ready."
"That sounds acceptable."
"Cool! Do you have a costume?"
"A costume? For what?"
"For Halloween, silly. You're supposed to dress up in a costume. It's really fun!"
"I'm sorry, I've never celebrated before. I don't know the customs."
"I probably have something you can dress up as. I already have ideas."
The bell rang causing Lillie to give me a curt smile then turn away with a wave. She didn't want me to make her late to class since I still haven't deposited my backpack in my locker.
Lillith was right on time after school. She made it to my locker before even I did. She wants to get this over with. I took a moment to appreciate her. Her dark hair was pulled away from her face with clips, her colorful platform sneakers were scuffed at the toes, and her sweater was slightly oversized and made her look tiny. She looked over at me and waved, a smile stretching across her amazing face.
"Are you ready to get this party started?" She asked when I made it into earshot.
"We're going to a party?" I opened my locker to grab my things, to not make Lillie wait any longer than necessary.
"Well, not really. You could consider the Halloween festival to be a party though."
Lillith hooked her arm in mine and led me out to her mom's car. Her mom was a very talkative lady who asked me questions about my family until Lillith finally told her to lay off. Lillie had me pressed against her side the whole time and if I'm honest with myself I'd admit that I didn't hate it. Homosexuality is a sin, my little moon child.
Once we got to Lillie's room she sat me down in a chair and stood behind me. She toyed with my hair, a smile played across her features.
"You should tie this up, your eyes are beautiful." She said.
"Why don't you do that then."
She hummed approvingly then grabbed a hair tie off of her dresser and tied my hair back into a low pony. She spun me in her desk chair so I was facing her and she tilted her head. After a moment of regarding me, she reached over my shoulder and grabbed a black berrett off of her desk which she clipped my bangs out of my face with.
Her face was inches from mine, her brown eyes looking into my own. She leaned in, her lips nearly brushing mine. Quick push her away! You can't let this succubus put you under her spell.
I pushed her away from me before her lips could hit mine and she looked away, slightly frazzled. She made the quick decision to pretend that what just happened didn't happen and she walked to her closet to get something.
"I have the perfect idea for your costume." She said.
"What's your idea?"
"Well, you're all black preppy goth look gave me the idea of-" She pulled cat ears out of her closet and placed them on my head, "cat girl! You look so cute!"
"I look promiscuous."
"I'll pretend that I know what that means and move on."
"I look like a slut."
"Oh, I don't think you look like a slut. You look cute."
"Of course you would find it cute."
"Stop being pissy, storm cloud." She kissed the top of my head then went back to her closet to change. She's gonna turn you into a homosexual. If you don't stop talking to her now you'll go to hell too. You don't want that. You don't want to be a sinner.
"Do you like my costume?"
I looked over to where Lillie was standing. She was wearing a red riding hood outfit complete with the dress and cloak. Her hair was flowing loosely around her shoulders and her lipgloss shined in the light.
"Yeah, it looks good on you." Suppress the thoughts. Suppress the thoughts. Suppress the-
"We could head over to the festival. It takes place in the park which is just a few minutes walk from my house."
Lillie took my hand for the second time that night. She led me to the park talking up the festival the whole time. By the time we got there, I expected it to take place in a castle.
She led me around the different booths and we bought candy and sweets galore.
 After a while, Lillith started dragging me towards the haunted house. In my gut, I knew it was a bad idea, but I didn't want to disappoint Lillie, so I sucked it up and went in with her.
Jump scares have never been my forte, I get lost in my head and the jump scares become amplified because I wasn't expecting them. Not to mention this haunted house looked horrifying.
We got to the front rather quickly and Lillie led me in, her hand gripping mine. The house immediately gave off an eerie feeling that set me on edge.
Nothing happened in the first room but the second that we stepped into the second room a ghost jumped out of the wall at us, which caused both me and Lillie to scream. However, Lillie quickly recovered and laughed at herself while I remained in an anxious state. I could still feel the eyes of the ghost on me.
 I looked up from the floor and locked eyes with multiple shadowy figures that were slowly pressing closer. Lillie tugged on my hand to get me to keep moving, but I couldn't. My legs felt like jelly and I didn't want to move towards the shadows.
She pulled on my hand more eagerly and when I looked up I saw blood dripping down the walls. Someone with a ski mask and chainsaw came towards us and I knew this was it. This was the moment that I died.
I braced myself for death, but it never came. Instead, I felt Lillie's lips close to my ear.
"Hun, can you walk? There's an emergency exit over there that we can take."
I nodded weakly and managed to stumble out of the house, but the second that I hit the grass I was on my knees dry heaving.
"What was that in there?" Lillie asked.
"You tried to kill me is what happened." I wiped my hand on my sleeve; the adrenaline started to ebb a little.
"You weren't going to die, it was just a haunted house."
"Exactly! There was a ghost and shadow creatures and blood and a man with a chainsaw, I thought I was going to die."
"Luna, there weren't shadow creatures or blood, and the man with the chainsaw was just an actor. He pointed out the exit."
"What do you mean?"
"Do you see things that aren't there? I didn't see half of the stuff that you did." She's gaslighting you. You saw that stuff.
"Don't tell me what's real and what isn't real when you can't even handle your own emotions and thoughts."
"I can handle my emotions."
"Tell that to the scars on your arms."
"I'm working on that." She hugged herself defensively and turned away. "How do you know about that anyway."
"You decided to try to cut yourself behind the school after being bullied."
"You saw that?" Hurt cut across her features.
"I may have witnessed that. It wasn't my place to intervene."
"I thought we were friends."
"We're not friends! You just decide to tag along with me no matter what I say and you badger me into going to things like this then put me through traumatic experiences for your enjoyment!"
"I do not do that."
"No, you're right. You just feel useless, so you use me to feel needed. The fact that I'm friendless is something that you think you can fix. Have you ever thought that maybe I like it that way?"
She turned fully away this time. "I don't need to deal with this kind of harassment."
"Yeah, just run away." I continued to yell up at her from my spot on the ground.
She gave me one last hurt look before walking away.
A few days later, at school, Lillith came up to me with an apologetic look on her face.
"Luna," she said, "I'm sorry about how things went down between us. If you're ok with it I'd like to stay over. I'm sure a lot of what you said is true, so I'd like to work towards a mutually beneficial relationship between us."
"Did you consult a dictionary for that speech?" I didn't look at her. I couldn't look at her. If I looked at her I'd let her come back. Good girl.
"What? No."
"Well, that was big words for someone like you. You can't even understand the fact that I don't want your friendship."
"I thought that you were just against the one-sided friendship."
"I'm against friendship with you at all. You're a sorrowful excuse for a human being and I don't want to deal with it."
"I'm over here trying to apologize and instead you just insult me?"
"If you'd leave you wouldn't be insulted."
Her eyes darkened and she finally turned to leave, casting me one last glance before finally leaving.
I finished putting my stuff away and when I turned to walk to class I saw Taylor standing right next to me.
"Taylor!" I squeaked.
"Sorry, Luna." He backed away from me, a smile on his face. "Did Lillith leave you?"
"She's a terrible person that I didn't want to be involved with."
"You're better off without her anyway."
"Thanks, I guess."
"She was just holding you back anyway. Making you feel things that you shouldn't."
"What do you mean?"
"You had a major crush on her. You're better without her because now you don't-"
"Why do you think I have a crush on her?"
"It's obvious."
"No, it's not."
"To me it is."
"Whatever, I'm going to class."
"See you later then!"
Days went by and Lillith finally respected my wishes and left me alone. Meanwhile, Mr. Poe was getting more and more aggressive and yelled at me more and more. He called me a failure and an idiot and every insult under the sun.
One day though, a good week after Lillith had stopped talking to me, Mr. Poe was being especially terrible during lunch.
You're a failure, nobody would want to be your friend even if you let them. You'll live alone your whole life. You're not even worth the air that you breathe. Just shut up and be the doormat that you know you should be.
Taylor walked in at that moment, sitting next to me and giving a small wave to Mr. Poe.
"Hey, Luna. What're you two talking about?"
How Luna will never amount to anything.
"You're probably not wrong."
"Aren't you supposed to defend me?" I asked.
"But he's not wrong."
You should listen to this one, he seems good.
"You'll make a good trophy wife someday, but you're not smart enough to do much else."
"You don't know that. You barely know me."
"I know you better than you think."
"You don't know me! You wouldn't know it! You don't know me."
Taylor slowly walked towards me, which caused me to cower in the corner.
"You're useless." Useless, Luna, useless.
"I'm not useless!" USELESS "I'M NOT, DON'T CALL ME USELESS!" My hands went over my head as I tried to protect myself from their insults. But they just both broke into cackles.
"Luna?" Lillith was crouched in front of me and I was suddenly unsure of how long she's been trying to get my attention. "Who are you talking to?"
"Mr. Poe and Taylor. They're in the room. Do you not see them? They're in the room."
"Hey, Luna." Lillith grabbed my cheeks, and she forced me to look up at her. "Don't listen to them. They aren't real."
"You don't know what's real!" I cried as I pulled my knees closer. Are you going to let her trick you?
"Nobody else can see Taylor or Mr. Poe, they're hallucinations. Nobody is in here with you but me." She ran her thumb under my eyes and dried my tears.
"Why should I believe you?" She's lying to you. She wants to hurt you.
"Because I care about you and don't want to see you in pain. And I know how it feels to struggle with mental illness and not get help. It sucks and I don't want you to go through that."
"Why would you care about me? I've been so mean to you." She doesn't care.
"Because I see how much you're struggling and I understand how hard it can be. I want to help, but I can only help if you let me."
"How do I fix it then?" You can't fix me. I am you whether you want to admit it or not.
"Are you going to let her get rid of me!" Taylor screamed at me from the opposite corner.
I cowered away from him as I covered my ears and Lillith scooted closer.
"First," she said, her voice oddly soothing. "You need to get out of your environment. That house is awful and terrible for you. Second, you need to get on some meds and don't expect the first one to work. Third, you need to talk to someone."
"That's a lot…" Taylor was progressively getting closer and Mr. Poe was whispering in the back of my mind.
"Let's start on step one then. You have enough bruises and scars to easily get emancipated from your parents. I say start with that and I'll convince my parents to let you stay with us."
"Why would they want me?"
"Because you're a sweet girl when you let yourself be and you're struggling so hard. I doubt they'd let you go through this on your own or leave you with your abusive parents."
"They aren't-"
"Don't defend them. That's not how you punish your kids. My parents barely even yell at me."
"Ok, that… that does sound nice."
"Good. Then tomorrow after school we're going to start the process of getting you emancipated." She held out her pinky to me, tears in her eyes. "I promise I will not leave you at any point. I'll be with you every step of your recovery."
I hooked my pinky with hers, and I finally felt sure about something in my life.
16 months later
Lillith pov
Luna had been living with us for almost a year and a half. Shortly after she moved out of her parents' house she started setting a therapist and was diagnosed with schizophrenia rather quickly.
She got on some meds, but we still struggled for a while. There were days when she really couldn't tell her hallucinations for reality and she got super paranoid. She'd hear voices a lot and they usually weren't telling her great things. However, after some trial and error, we got her on some meds that work well for her. She sleeps better now and she's even more affectionate towards me now that she's not super paranoid about me hating her or wanting to hurt her.
It's still taking a lot of effort from all of us to work through the trauma that her parents left her with, but I feel like we're making progress.
She no longer believes in the religion that she was brought up in. Her therapist said that it's to be expected since she was suffocated by it for so long. I find it to be a step in the right direction because she's not letting her parents dictate her life anymore.
She turns eighteen today and her big wish was to stay home and watch movies with me. So, I decided to make us a pillow nest on my bed and get her favorite movies ready to stream. I had gotten my mom to help me distract Luna while I set everything up and so far it was going great.
I turned off the lights to prepare for her arrival and the fairy lights that I have set up in my room twinkled beautifully. I heard Luna's voice down the hall and I climbed into the blanket nest to prepare for her arrival.
She walked in and immediately caught my eyes. She inhaled sharply and looked around the room. "Lillith," she said, breathily, "what is all of this?"
"You said that you wanted to stay in and watch movies, so I created a blanket nest. I thought that we could cuddle and stream your favorite movies. How does that sound?"
"That sounds wonderful." She climbed into the blanket nest before she cuddled into my side. I watched her pull a blanket over our laps then lay her head on my shoulder.
I passed her the laptop and she turned on Coroline. It was a movie that she discovered when she first moved in and couldn't stop watching after that.
Right before the opening credits started rolling she pecked my lips, a faint blush dusted her cheeks. "Thanks for everything that you've done. I don't know where I'd be right now if it weren't for you."
"Probably dead in a ditch."
Her laugh was like music to my ears. "You're probably right."
"You do know I love you, right?"
"You show me every day."
I pulled her closer to my side, as I buried my face in her hair to hide my tears. She'd never kissed me before. I suspected that she liked me and I liked her, but I didn't want to push her by making the first move.
Something inside me told me that everything was finally going to be okay.
Okay, so this got way longer than expected, and I've re-written it like a thousand times, so I have to post it before I go completely crazy. Enjoy!
Ch. 6: Cats and Dogs
Marinette almost died that night. It was so incredibly stupid, that if she hadn't felt so shitty in the morning, she might've had laughed at it.
She blamed Jeremy. They were sitting on the roof until five AM when he had to leave - probably to get ready for school, but Marinette didn't ask.
He wasn't supposed to stay for so long in the first place, but she started teaching him French, and he was so hilariously incompetent, they forgot to check the time. He was pretty freaked out when he realized it was almost morning.
Okay. That sucks but no biggie, right?
Honestly, everything would've been perfectly fine if Jeremy'd let her drink her coffee. She went down to get one around two AM when she was already on the verge of passing out - forty-two hours of not sleeping will do that to you, but as soon as she put it down on the roof, Jeremy accidentally knocked it over. She watched as the sacred liquid painted the cold concrete black, and didn't go back for a new cup.
After he left, she fell asleep. On the roof. In the cold.
Ladybugs and cold didn't go well together. By the time Tikki decided to come out of the hotel room and check on her, the Sun was already up, and Marinette's body was freezing. She was still asleep, of course, because being half-dead usually isn't enough to wake her up.
When the kwami shooked her awake, everything hurt. She couldn't feel her legs and hands, her eyes seemed to roll out of their sockets any minute, and she was so freaking cold. It took her an hour to feel her fingers again, and Tikki used the time to lecture her about her sleeping habits. She had a point, not as if she would ever tell her that.
So yes, it was definitely Jeremy's fault.
***
After breakfast and on Marinette's side, a few hectoliters of green tea, Mrs. Bustier and Miss Alarie, a relatively new teacher who was accompanying them on their trip, decided to take them on a walk. In Gotham. Even Marinette's sleep-deprived and frozen-over brain could see the fault in that plan. Multiple faults, to be exact.
But given that there was no responsible adult on sight - or a slightly intelligent goose who could point that out, - they went on a walk.
Mrs. Bustier went out front, Miss Alarie was at the end of the line, and Marinette was walking a few steps behind her because she liked to think she wasn't a complete idiot and had no desire to see all her classmates die from a threat she didn't see coming.
At least they were pretty entertaining to watch.
Adrien was reading a book he got the day before without looking up, not falling over once, which would've been impressive if he wasn't Chat Noir for three years in the past. Nino was listening to music with his headphones on - not realizing he forgot to plug it into his phone, so everyone could hear the electronic tones blaming from his speaker. Rose pushed her face to every single shop window they walked past, and Alix was trying very hard to not fall on her face in roller skates. Meanwhile, Mylene somehow got gum in her hair, which she and Ivan have been struggling to get out for the past half hour.
Chloe was fighting with Lila over some celebrity's personal life, while next to them, Juleka and Sabrina were watching a movie on a small smartphone, with Max lecturing them about megabytes, satellites and something else, that also ended in '-ites'. Perhaps egg whites. Or gravesites. If she looked very hard, she could even notice the way Nathaniel moved to the rhythm of Nino's music while playing a game on Max's phone.
Kim seemed to be the only one actually looking at the buildings and people around them, and Alya was... well, Alya was live-tweeting everything. She tended to be a little over-enthusiastic sometimes.
The streets kept getting more and more familiar as they got near to the Wayne Tower. Marinette was just about to disappear and get to know the city's coffee machines when turning in the corner, someone ran into her. Literally.
She grabbed the poor man by his waist just in time to save him from falling on his face, but let go as soon as he got his balance back. She didn't like touching with people, especially not strangers.
"Huh, I'm sorry," he said, panting heavily. "I wasn't paying attention."
"It's fine," muttered Marinette, giving him a concerned look. "Are you alright?"
"Sure, just..." The man stopped, leaned on his knees, and tried to even out his breathing, "Just give me a minute."
Marinette glanced at her class walking away, not noticing her departure and found herself grateful for having a reason to sneak off for a bit.
She used the time to take a better look at the man. He was around thirty, tall and muscular, so he must've run a lot to be so out of breath. He was wearing an expensive suit. A very expensive designer suit, that matched his hair's rich black color perfectly. He looked like someone who just walked off a magazine's front page, except that his tie was messy - he probably tried to loosen it while running. However, the truly upsetting thing about him was - and Marinette had to check it multiple times to be sure, - that he had only one shoe.
His left side was fine, but on his right foot, there was nothing but a wet and dirty, Superman-themed sock.
"Okay, so let's start this over," the man said, straightening up and dusting off his suit-jacket. "Hi. I'm Dick. I'm sorry for bumping into you." He held out his hand for a handshake, which Marinette simply ignored, looking at him expectantly.
He let his arm down and dug into his hair awkwardly.
"Okay, so... you didn't happen to see a dog around here, did ya'? Big, brown, might've had a shoe in his mouth..."
"No," Marinette said slowly, masking her accent, but her thoughts were already flashing rapidly. "But how about I help you get your shoe back?" she started, noting the wary look Dick gave her.
He was about to ask her why on Earth would she do that but she lifted a finger, telling him to wait.
In Gotham, everything had a price, and she was familiar with that. She saw how embarrassed he was. She could work with that.
"And in exchange, you tell me how you lost it." She gave him a confident smile to convince him of her interest.
"How do I know you can help me?" he asked seriously, but there was a playful glare in his eyes.
"You don't. You're just going to have to trust me, Superman."
With that, she started walking to the direction her class just came from. Dick paced after her easily and frowned.
"You know you shouldn't be walking around here alone, right?"
"I'm not alone. You're with me," she grinned.
"Yeah, well you shouldn't be walking around with strangers either."
She gave him a flat look and said, "You're wearing a Superman-themed sock and you lost your shoe. I figured you won't kill me for fun."
"Hey, have you heard of the Joker? He is a freakin' clown!"
"Everyone knows clowns are creepy," Marinette told him and that was enough for her to consider the topic closed.
Dick let out a resigned sigh and for a few moments, they walked in silence.
"Now what?" he asked finally.
"Now," Marinette said, opening the door to a butcher's shop, "we get some bait."
***
"Okay," She could see the gears turning in Dick's head, "but you have to promise you won't laugh."
"That wasn't part of the deal."
They bought a few nice bones for the dog and were now walking around seemingly aimlessly, searching. They both knew exactly where they were but they weren't about to show that to the other.
Marinette grinned as Dick let out yet another sigh and started the story.
"So. I was sitting on a bench, having breakfast, minding my own business and stuff, ya' know?" Marinette hummed in agreement and almost told Dick to speak more slowly but she decided that would be too cruel. "So I'm sitting there, and then - don't laugh, I see you're about to laugh, - and then I feel something on my shoe. I look at it, and it's a freaking kitty! Like a legit, gray kitty playing with my shoelaces!" Marinette had a hard time keeping a straight face but kept nodding. "So naturally, I take off my shoe, because a kitty wants to play with me, and I have a heart, you know - stop grinning! - And I start to play with the cat because you should've seen her, she was adorable! But then here comes this big, dark blob running towards us, it's a fuckin' dog, you get it? Like what was the chance of that? And it's running with freaking light speed, - and I told you to stop grinning! - And it scares the kitty away, and then, - of course, my shoe is on the ground at this point, - he picks it up and runs off! Like what the hell?" he finally stopped gesticulating wildly and let out a frustrated groan.
"And you ran after it," Marinette continued, trying to hold back her laughter.
"Of course! I didn't think it was gonna disappear! I thought it'll run around a little, then lie down or something."
She continued grinning but Dick pointedly ignored her until they turned around a corner. Suddenly, he grabbed her arm and whispered cautiously.
"That's him!"
"Really? I thought it's a different big, brown dog chewing formal footwear," Marinette said quietly and brushed his hand off.
She moved slowly but surely. She didn't go towards the dog, she crossed the street and set the bag of bones off, showing it to the animal. It was looking at her with murder in its eyes. She stood up and calmly walked back to Dick's side.
"Now, wait," she told him.
A minute passed before the dog walked to the bones, sniffed them, then started tearing the bag apart. Dick was staring at its fangs as Marinette tugged him by his shirt. She picked up the chewed shoe lying abandoned.
"Here you go," she told him, holding it up with only two fingers.
"Thanks." He grimaced. "How did you know he was going to be here?"
'I noticed this place when I was looking for potential escape routes for my class while walking. The dog didn't go to our direction, so it must've come this way, and this seemed like a good place to start.'
"I'm good with animals," she said instead, winking. "And by the way, how do you know it's a 'he'?"
"I just know. Instincts," he said while jumping on one leg, trying to put on his ruined shoe.
(4/9) Stray Kids as Apple Employees AU
okay, ik what you’re gonna say.
“wtf mari, why apple employees?”
honestly, i don’t have a good reason.
i literally came out of my shower and was like, “pffft, they’d make funny apple employees,” then this AU was born.
i might continue this, i might not. depends on my itty bitty brain when it comes up with content.
i also sort of wanna do a stray kids as baristas at starbucks but idk
anYWAYS let’s do it.
CHAN!
aaaaah our beloved leader is the technical support advisor who basically helps people with troubleshooting.
he’s the dude you contact when your stupid device isn’t doing what you want it to but you’re….calling from home.
he always has his headset on him. (fyi, it’s a headphone thingy with a mic attached to it.)
Like alWAYS
woojin asked him once why he literally wore it like his life depended on it.
probably because it did
his response was simple, “so i can take calls and help customers while making sure jeongin doesn’t burn the store down at the same time.”  (︶︿︶)
woojin didn’t ask any further questions bc he understood all too well.       ( ͡° ʖ̯ ͡°)
(don’t worry, i’ll explain later.)
chan was super good at his job lmao.
he effortlessly engaged with people, explaining step by step solutions with patience and had an approach tailored to each individual customer.
papa steve jobs would be v proud indeed
he had difficult responsibilities too bro
imagine getting yelled at for a whole day by people you didn’t even know, because they were angry at a device you didn’t even mAKE-
when they say, ‘patience is a virtue,’ they rlly mean:
pATIENCE
IS
A FUCKIN
VIRTUE
ლ(ಠ益ಠ)ლ bc most people would probably grow annoyed after the other person in the phone line keep shouting & blaming.
but not chan. no. no.
he’d be tolerant with the customer, and continue to provide the best customer service possible. ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭
… i mean… unless the person was getting too aggressive for his liking, then he’d just remove the headpiece, scroll through the company website, and wait till the person has cooled down before proceeding to help them with a positive attitude. (꒪ཀ꒪)
Hyunjin
his job title is literally, ‘Genius,’
i kid you not. i looked this shit up.
jeongin thought it was a legit at first
like they all joined the company at different times but jeongin was the last to hop on the apple train.
hyunjin’s name on the schedule board would be beside the word, ‘genius,’ and for like… two whole months, jeongin thought hyunjin was the mastermind behind the whole apple operation
i cannot tell you how many times hyunjin was approached by jeongin with a problem that he didn’t have the knowledge to help with
luckily, seungmin was feeling nice and explained that, ‘genius,’ was just the name of hyunjin’s job.
why?
seungmin didn’t know either
okay  baCK TO HYUNJIN!! his job is to quickly diagnose product issues on the spot, explain what’s wrong with the device to the customer. after determining whether repairs can be done or a replacement is needed, he’d offer solutions to help get users up and running again.
now don’t get me wrong, hyunjin loved his job bc he liked helping people and fixing devices bUT!!!!
after working in the same store for almost a year, these group of girls would literally be there every w e e k e n d to get “help,” from him.
he was flattered and all about the female audience but it was getting stale.
some girls would breAK their devices on purpose just to have an excuse to talk to him.
the convo’s they’d try to initiate wasn’t even about the faulty device anymore.
this rlly bothered him bc it took his time away from helping ACTUAL customers.
eventually, chan banned them from coming in to disrupt the peace of the store and to protect hyunjin from their beady eyes and weirdness.
jeongin mostly came to hyunjin for help with something (bc he knew the older dude wouldn’t tell chan)
& these two doods would try to fix the problem together!! hopefully before chan finds out about the problem bc
oof
then mr. advisor would be streSSED AF and
they’d get a scolding from mother!woojin
Jeongin
our bby boy is the technical specialist who helps people get started with using their devices.
gets excited with you when you get your new phone or computer.
knows all the tips and tricks on getting the most out of your device
is especially patient with the elderly and first-time users.
he knows!! that technology is difficult to understand and work around when you’re barely starting out so he’ll take as long as necessary to help someone understand how the phone or laptop works.
but...
y’all…
don’t let this boi anywhere a fire hazard area
i mean, he doesn’t mean to start fires
they just...happen???
like, they have this small employee mini kitchen in the upstairs breakroom (literally the whole 2nd floor could be a one bedroom apartment)
and of course when there’s a kitchen, there has to be SNACKS!!!
and jeongin was hungry during his shift.
so he goes up during the non-busy hours of the day to get himself some fud
(✿◠‿◠) a growing boi needs his nutrients!!
chan had left briefly for a coffee run, woojin was downstairs trying to fix a malfunctioning monitor. the other boys were either sick, out for lunch, or hadn’t clocked in yet.
jeongin put in a bag of popcorn in the microwave, and checked the box for instructions
it said, “for 5,000 watt microwave = 2 min. for 500 watt microwave = 4 min.”
he checked the microwave and it was 1,000 watt :-)
uhhh he didn’t really know at what time to put it in as so…
he typed in 3 min.
he didn’t mind having some burnt popcorn bc hey!! he just wanted to eat something.
he took a seat in front of felix’s computers and started scrolling through the security tapes in hopes of finding one funny footage of a customer.
:-) it started smelling like smoke for some odd reason.
mmm yep that was the smell of smoke for sure.
wonder where that’s coming from?
he thought.
he turned around to look for the source, and
HOLY SHIT THE MICROWAVE WAS ON FIRE
the panic in his body went from 0% to 100% real quick.
jeongin couldn’t just turn off the damned heating machine bc it was in flames, but he just couldn’t let it continue to get bigger and bigger.
he grabbed the pitcher of lemonade at the table and yEET that juice all over the microwave.
it did like minimal help.
he could hear chan entering the store, calling for woojin to help him bring the cups upstairs to the break room
oh no
he was in the break room.
he grabbed a wash cloth from the sink and began smACKIN at the flames
cue the parents walking in.
chan: (.•̵̑⌓•̵̑)
woojin: ༼ ༎ຶ ෴ ༎ຶ༽
without wasting another second, woojin yanked jeongin away from the fire bc it was starting to get really big and he could have gotten hurt ( ˘︹˘)
while chan got the fire extinguisher from beside the fridge
was that always there? jeongin asked himself
and chan used it to stop the fire.
poor bby jeongin got a massive scolding from both parents and told him to be more cautious next time.
then they all cleaned up the mess before the rush of people came in the shop!!
the next day, the other boys walked in to woojin spraying the SHIT outta this air freshener all over the break room bc it reaked of burnt popcorn & metal.
windows were all open to the smell out and the beloved microwave was nowhere to be seen.
chan was sipping on his morning cup of coffee when minho asked what happened.
“jeongin nearly burned the store down so there’s no more microwave.”
“oh. okay.”
Felix
ahhh okay so his job isn’t anything tech related really, except for when he watches people through his cams
he was the security guard of the store uwu
he has so far prevented 7 fights from happening and 6 of those 7 were between minho and seungmin lmao.
he was the perfect man for this job bc on the outside, his face is like:  (づ。◕‿‿◕。)づ
but when he’s upset or angry, mr. security guard mode is activated  (ง’̀-‘́)ง so he has to remove people from the premises.
he uses his SCARY voice when dealing with overly aggressive people and it usually does the trick when he asks them to leave
but when lil kids are just so excited and curious about the devices, he uses his soft uwu voice to converse with them about their day or what they’re doing in school
overall the cutest & dependable guard ever!!! 11/10
once changbin kept trying to fiddle with felix’s computer and he was like, “bro.. you’ve been trying to guess my password for like 2 hours. it’s not yngbok01.”
and changbin was soooo frustrated with this and he looked at felix like   (ノಥ益ಥ)ノ ┻━┻ “PLS JUST SIGN IN!!”
a smirk was on the guard’s face as he asked why he should.
changbin looked defeated and finally said, “i was locking up the store last thursday and was doing my own version of karaoke and i… tripped on the cords, and my jeans ripped open as i fell. If that blackmailer minho gets his hands on that footage, i’m dONE FOR—”
felix nearly toppled over from laughing so much as he watched the clip of what happened while changbin was visibly on edge, looking for any sign that minho was in the room
he still deleted the clip tho bc he’s a good friend
Bailey
Squinting my eyes against the harsh sunlight that was beaming through the window, I turned my head to the side, burying my face deeper into Adrian’s chest. From his chest lightly rising and falling, I knew he was still asleep. Sighing softly, I turned my head on the side instead, watching the beautiful view of the sun and how well it meshed with the skylines. After bowling, we as a group had dinner on the pier but it was nothing short of tension filled. Whether they wanted to admit that or not is up to them, but I certainly felt the different vibes that was roaming around the table. Adrian barely spoke to anyone beside Austin and me when he wanted to. Justine stuck by Caiden side the whole time, slightly making Adrian look at them suspiciously but not enough to question it just yet. Even August was being a bit strange. No one is speaking on it, so I don’t know what the problem is. But knowing these group of people, anything can happen at any given moment. Anyhow, after that, I tagged along with Caiden and Justin to the local tattoo parlor. That would have been a perfect time to get my matching tattoo along with my mother and sister but instead, I got a flash tattoo. It took less than an hour to complete and I was more than satisfied with the results.
“Adrian,” I cooed lightly, tapping his neck annoyingly. It doesn’t take much to bother him and I seem to work his last nerve all the time. Groaning, he swatted my hand away with ease and positioned himself so he was now the one lying on me with his hands pinning my arms down by my side. “It’s already ten if you didn’t know, Adrian,” I mumbled, feeling his morning wood on my inner thigh.
“Give me five minutes, shit,” he grumbled.
“Okay, well, let me go. I’m hungry,” I complained, feeling his grip on my arm loosen. I slid out of the bed slowly and slipped on my pajama shorts before slowly making my way outside of the room. I continued to walk until I made it towards the kitchen where a buffet of food was placed along the kitchen counter. The employees made sure every day we were catered to so they could avoid any complaints. What I didn’t notice was that Justine was already at the table eating. She had on a pair of Beats headphone and her attention was focused solely on her phone along with her plate of food. Ever since she brushed off my attempt at trying to listen to her when she was clearly down, communication between the two of us ceased completely. There was the occasional few words here and there but other than that, it was nothing substantial.
With a small sigh, I began to fill my plate with what I desired before grabbing the jug of Pink Lemonade and pouring a good amount. I considered whether I should sit at the table or head back to the bedroom but the former chose seemed more convenient, so I sat on the other end of Justine, opposite side. It wasn’t until I sat down completely, and my plate made a sound against the glass table did she notice me. Normally, I would have offered up a small smile or hello but lately when I do, it’s not returned so there is no point in me doing it anymore.
It was never that hard for me to mind my business and ignore something that I didn’t want to pay attention to, but it was becoming a tad bit difficult with Justine staring at me every so often. It appeared to look like she had a problem with me but yet again, she wasn’t speaking up either and there was no way I could read anyone’s mind. “How much longer will you be here for?” Justine questioned. I looked at her through the corner of my eye, not sure what her question was aiming to do or mean.
“Does it matter to you?” I asked. “You weren’t concerned about it a few months ago,”
“That’s because you weren’t directly fucking up my life. Thanks a lot, Bailey. You’re the best,” she said sarcastically. I was taken aback at her sudden attitude towards me and how harsh she was being to begin with. Where this anger came from, I had no idea, but I wanted to find out. She had been so nice and warm every day prior to this with not the slightest hint of her possibly being angry at me. Was her anger even directed at the right person? I don’t think so. But if she does have a legit reason as to being angry at me, why didn’t she speak sooner? Like when I asked what’s wrong a few days ago? Biting down on my bottom lip, I refrained from saying anything that just might hurt her feelings. This was one of the main reasons why I had mostly boys as my friends. As cliché as it is, they were less difficult to talk to. They were either 100% blunt or 100% goofy, there was no in between with them. Unlike boys, there’s a whole range of emotions that aren’t as easy to deal with. I didn’t have it in me to deal with her attitude so early in the morning. Walking away hurriedly, I almost bumped into Adrian before he caught me by my forearms.
All it took was one look for him to notice something was wrong and as if on cue, he asked, “What’s the problem?”
“Nothing,” I muttered.
“Don’t lie to me,” he gritted.
“I’m not, Adrian. I just don’t appreciate your sister having an attitude with me for no reason at all,” I scoffed, snatching my arm away from him. He looked at me through squinted eyes before nodding his head slowly. As much as she may be going through something difficult, so was I and in no way should I be on the receiving end of her hatred. Without saying anything, he grabbed ahold of my small hand in his and pulled me back in the direction of the kitchen and I couldn’t help the tired expression that showed on my face. As suspected, she sat at the table still as if she didn’t say anything out of line. This time, at the sound of more than one pair of feet nearing her, she popped her headphones off and stared between Adrian and me.
“I don’t have time for your fake bullshit, Justine. If you not ‘bout to speak, don’t stare,” Adrian stated rudely, slightly surprising me. I mean, he could be very vicious with his words. That was no secret, but I did expect for him to take it somewhat easy on his own sister, but he was just as blunt as he was with anyone else. I want to say that it’s contributed because of how stressed he is and how Justine has been acting lately but I can’t be too sure. I squeezed his hand a little tighter, not wanting him to completely go off on his sister this early in the morning where people are around and could overhear. Besides, even if Justine and I were at odds, I would never want to see the demise of their relationship. They were all they had left. I whispered for him to stop and it worked somewhat but now they were just in an intense standoff, neither one looking away. “Go sit and eat,” Adrian muttered, keeping his attention solely on his fuming sister.
Like a weak puppy, I listened and traipsed towards my somewhat warm meal, grabbed it and placed it in the microwave to warm it up some more. Adrian grabbed a few warm butter biscuits off the platter and opted for taking an ice-cold bottle of water with him to the table. There, the two siblings continued to stare at one another, and it was starting to make me slightly uncomfortable. Licking my lips, I sat in my original seat which was beside him and began to eat once more. “When were you going to tell me you had Bailey fucking with Lonnie behind my back?” My eyes widened at her question but not once did Adrian falter or look concerned. In his eyes, what’s done is done and there was no taking it back either.
“I didn’t have to,” he stated with a shrug. “I’m not obligated to tell you anything as far as I’m concerned. I’m a grown man and I do what I please. You know nothing you say has an influence over me so don’t sit here and act like you’re mad because of that,” he spoke evenly, lacking all types of emotions. He wasn’t fazed in the least bit by Justine and once again, it pained me to witness this. I felt the need that I should leave and give them their space, but I wasn’t sure what would happen if I did. So, I stayed seated, watching two angry people go at it.
“And what is the point of this? To prove that I was stupid to bother with a dude like Lonnie, huh?” she snapped.
“Yes,” I tore my eyes away from my barely touched plate of food and onto Justine’s face. For a split second, I witnessed the sadness in her eyes before it took over her whole face. It was possible that Adrian’s one worded answer was true but there was another part of me that believed he only said that to get under his sister’s skin and to infuriate her which he easily did. I could literally see her caving right before me. “I don’t know why you stand up for this nigga so fucking hard. He hasn’t done shit for you besides help make Austin. But when is the last time he’s seen his own son? You’re forcing this nigga to do something he clearly doesn’t want. Why?” Adrian asked sternly. “You still talking to this nigga?” By the silence that came from Justine, that was all the confirmation Adrian needed. He shook his head in disappointment. “You will never learn, will you? You prove my point every day,”
“Fuck you, Adrian!” she spat. “You’ve done nothing but bring me down and everyone else!”
“You do that on your own,” While Justine was drowning in hysteria and loudness, Adrian remained with his cool exterior. “But so what? You’re this angered because Bailey was working against Lonnie? Fuck outta here. Yeah, she was dating Lonnie and you know what? Not once did you ever cross his mind. Now what the hell does that tell you? He doesn’t give a fuck about you or Austin, like I’ve been telling you for the past seven years! You want your kid around someone who would try to rape a female?!” he spat, banging his hand on the table. I cringed at Adrian putting it all out on the table for his sister to hear. My head immediately dropped. I knew Justine was staring at me, I could feel her piercing stare from the other side of the room. Adrian could have expressed this differently instead of coming for the jugular; goodness.
“What are you talking about?” she asked.
“Your knight and shining armor tried to rape Bailey. Doesn’t sound so nice, does it?” he stated sternly, standing up. “You’re protecting this nigga or what?” She remained quiet, no longer staring at Adrian but at me. Shaking his head with a sad chuckle, he left the table quickly, not realizing that Austin was secured in the corner of the room, looking like a deer caught in headlights. I hadn’t even noticed him standing there at all and I wondered how much he did hear and if he understood any of this. As far as I was concerned, I never saw Adrian and Justine go at it in front of Austin so this must have been something hurtful to watch. Shaking my head, I went to go look for Adrian but stopped when Austin moved from his original spot in the corner to in front of me.
“Do they hate each other?” he asked softly.
“No, of course not! Just a little sibling discussion,” I tried to soothe. “Uh, c’mon, let’s give your mom some time to herself,” I said, turning my head to the side so I could get a glance at Justine. It was like she was paralyzed in her seat and couldn’t move because of the bombs Adrian just dropped on her. It was bound to come up but right now? Yikes. He nodded slowly and took ahold of my hand as we walked away from Austin’s mother. “How does a movie sound?” I asked.
“Okay,” he mumbled. I sighed deeply, walking towards the movie room. I just hope Adrian wasn’t doing anything destructive.
“Kennedy is Bailey,” That was all Xavier had to hear for his blood to begin to boil. He knew that there was something suspicious about Lonnie and as suspected, he was right and couldn’t believe it. As any normal person, his mind would have went in the direction of happiness, as he was close to finally bringing Bailey back, but that’s not what was on his mind. The fact that Lonnie tried to rape his younger cousin was and that set him off more than anything. Knowing that if his uncle found out about that, he knew he would destroy that nigga without a second thought to it and Xavier was going to do just that. He didn’t include Ryan on his plans because he knew that Ryan would possibly put a stop to it and truth be told, Xavier didn’t want any interference from anyone. So, Xavier called Lonnie up and asked if they could meet up and now he was currently at Lonnie’s house. Lonnie believed that Xavier was interested in the topic of discussion they were having but he didn’t know better and certainly didn’t know Kennedy was family he was fucking with.
Xavier, with such ease, pulled out his 9mm caliber, pointing it at Lonnie’s back. Lonnie was going to the fridge to retrieve a bottle of beer and when he turned around and noticed the gun pointing at him, he let out a dark chuckle. “What’s this for?” he asked, tensing up.
“You see, I knew something was wrong with you when I met you. I just didn’t know what yet. That was until everything started to click,” he chuckled dryly, licking his lips shortly after. Lonnie clenched his jaw, not sure what he was referring to but by the way he stood with his chest out, if he was going to die, he was going to die like a man, at least. All his dirt is already done, he did what he had to do and Adrian will find out soon. His job is completed. “This Kennedy girl you was fucking with is actually my cousin and her real name is Bailey,” Lonnie stared at him harshly, not wanting to believe such a thing, let alone believe that he was fucking with Ryan’s ex girl all along. Damn, he thought, Adrian fucked over two niggas with one girl. “And you tried to rape her. I don’t play that shit,” Xavier grumbled.
“So you’re about to kill me over someone I didn’t even know was related to you?” Lonnie questioned.
“Wrong… now you do know she’s related to me and I’m still going to kill you,”
“It’s not even wor-“ Lonnie wasn’t even able to finish his statement before a bullet smoothly pierced the middle of his head, blood quickly splattering the surrounding area. Smoke from the gun clouded the area for a few seconds before it died down.
“It is worth it, bitch,” Xavier grumbled, not fazed by Lonnie’s slumped body. He shook his head and proceeded to get up, grabbing the beer bottle Lonnie was once going to drink. He pulled out his phone and called a good friend of his uncle’s that’ll clean this mess and make it appear as if it was a random home invasion. One down, Ryan is next to go. Although Mr. Banks put Xavier and Ryan to work together, Mr. Banks knew it was only a matter of time before they did their own things and with Ryan confirming Xavier thoughts, there was no way Xavier could act as if he valued Ryan’s word.
Bailey
It was easier said than done, coaxing Austin to forget about what he just saw with his own eyes. Regardless of what movie I selected for us to watch, it seemed like he had more questions than I had answers and I felt bad that I couldn’t give him those answers. It came down to finding Adrian for him because it seemed like only Adrian could somewhat make Austin feel better. I haven’t seen Justine after that breakfast catastrophe and she probably locked herself in her room by now, not wanting to face anyone. I don’t know when the next time Adrian will come around and apologize to his sister for his behavior because at this point, he seemed over everything. He wasn’t going to apologize for his actions. He wasn’t going to be made look like he was dumb when all he did was look out for her and I completely understood that; shit, everyone has a breaking point. I just didn’t think it would have gotten to this point so soon.
I just didn’t understand why Justine couldn’t see it her brother’s way for once. She was rooting for Lonnie so hard yet failed to realize the bigger picture. Although I didn’t speak my thoughts aloud, I know Adrian was thinking the same thing. “How is he?” I asked, walking into our bedroom.
“He’s fine, now. He actually went to sleep,” Adrian mumbled. I climbed in bed beside him, laying my head on his chest. “Thanks,” he grumbled.
“For what?”
“One, for not ripping Justine’s head off. Yeah, that’s my sister and all but her mouth is something else and two, for trying to console Austin. He’s not meant to be around this type of environment. I don’t know, my original plan was to make Austin and Justine relocate but now I just want Austin to go somewhere else,”
“Like where? You got family outside of New York?”
“My grandmother. She lives in Georgia,”
“This isn’t your maternal grandmother, right?”
“Naw,” he chuckled. “How’d you know?”
“I listen during our conversations,” I smiled. It was a conversation we had way back after our initial rocky stage and he was elaborating on who the important women were in his life. He mentioned his grandmother but if I remember correctly, he said that she had passed away a while ago.
“I call her my grandmother, but I’ve known her since I was young. You see, I had an older brother,” I paused a little bit, taking in Adrian’s statement. I should have known that Adrian had more things up his sleeve to reveal; the things that circulate around Adrian are endless. I just didn’t expect to hear that he had an older brother. I always believed it was just Justine and Adrian, but I was wrong. Remaining mum, I allowed him time to continue. “All three of us used to travel to Georgia every now and then before I settled in New York for high school. Down there, my grandmother had a friend who I call my grandmother as well ‘cause she would look out for us as if we were blood. She was dope as hell and I usually make it my mission to visit her every year, but I haven’t seen her in over three years due to all this bullshit,”
“So, let me guess. That’s your first stop when this blows over,”
“If I’m not arrested,” I bit my bottom lip and sighed, not knowing exactly how to respond to that. Only time will tell, and time was running out quickly.
“Why do I feel like when we go back to New York, all of our plans will dissolve?” I mumbled. Grasping my waist in his hands, he placed me on his lap so that I was now straddling him. Licking my lips, he forced me look at him, knowing that I was purposely avoiding his gaze.
“Is that what you’re really worried about?” he questioned.
“I wish you didn’t kidnap me, and we had met in a different scenario, you know? Like, somewhere in a supermarket and you come up to me with a cheesy pick up line. Things would have been so much easier. Do you ever stop to think and wonder how your actions have an effect on others? Like, what’s going to happen to Austin?” He sighed tiredly, closing his eyes momentarily.
“Sometimes but I’ll make sure Austin is taken care of before anything can ever happen to him and that’s my word. But, I never run away from any of my issues, as you can see, but shit happens,” he said.
“You gotta do better,” I muttered, locking my hands with his. “Where’s the next stop going to be?” I questioned, sliding off his lap and onto the open space next to him.
“It’ll take us a while to get back to our villas ‘cause we so far from ‘em now, so that’s where we’re heading now. I don’t know when we’ll be back though,”
“Alright, I’m going to take a nap,” I said, slipping under the covers.
“You mad now?” he asked, hovering over my small frame. His lips roamed on the side of my neck, attempting to get some sort of reaction out of me. His hands slipped underneath my shirt, the pads of his finger tickling my skin. “Oh, so you don’t want to answer me now? Why you so salty for? I’m the one that should be upset. You don’t see the shit I gotta deal with on a daily basis?” he continued to talk, his fingers nearing the hem of my cotton shorts. I was a little worried about the future of Adrian since he seemed to be a little nonchalant about the repercussions he could possibly face. He had a family to look after and without Adrian around, how could he keep a watchful eye on things from behind bars? I was probably stupid for being this compassionate about his predicament when I should show him nothing but hate but it really is hard to do so when you start to talk to and understand a person. “It’s cute that you’re worried ‘bout me, shorty. But, I’m good so don’t be,” he stated confidently. I opened my mouth to speak but instead a harsh gasp left my mouth as soon as Adrian’s fingers pumped into me.
“Oh my God,” I breathed.
_
After a fuck, shower and nap later, Adrian and I both were comfortably lying in bed, separating ourselves from everyone else. Occasionally Austin would come in but other than that, communication with others has been low. Caiden does come in every once and a while though. I had asked about how Justine was doing not too long ago, and I guess she had literally cried herself to sleep, based on what Caiden had said. I tried to convince Adrian to go talk to her, but he wouldn’t listen at all; he’s so fucking stubborn. The only person I see him listening to is Austin. “You’re actually getting reception out here?” I mumbled tiredly, looking for his requested phone.
“I know right. Ain’t that some dope shit?” he chuckled. Handing him his vibrating device, he took a look at the caller I.D. and sighed, mumbling something inaudible.
“What’s up?” he answered. He looked at me through the corner of his eye slightly before swinging his legs off the bed and turning to face the other way. I immediately took that as my cue to go outside and give him some privacy. I didn’t end up too far as I only managed to make it a few feet outside before I heard a loud ‘what?’causing me to retract my steps and step into the room once again. His face was completely flushed red and it wasn’t because he was embarrassed, hardly is he, but because he was angry as hell. He was pacing the floor quickly, trying to alleviate his anger but it seemed futile. I carefully maneuvered around him, sitting on the middle of the bed. I couldn’t quite hear who was on the other end of the line but from the baritone voice, it sounded like someone important.
“I’ll be back in two days, the most. I‘m leaving tonight then,” Leaving? My brows shot up and I listened even more closely than before. He roamed around the room, packing shit up quickly, not caring where his clothes went or not. I wanted to interrupt him for a second, but I was scared that he just might fling me for doing such a thing. The phone conversation lasted another ten minutes before he tucked his phone away in the back pocket of his sweats. I remained quiet for a few seconds before I found myself speaking up again.
“What’s wrong? What’s happening?” I mumbled, scooting towards the edge of the bed.
“Fuck am I doing on a boat?” he muttered to himself, sitting down as well but that didn’t stop him from stuffing the clothes he had in his hand in the duffle bag. I carefully wrapped my arms around his neck from behind, feeling just how tense and rigid his body was. The worrisome feature that seems to occur at any given moment was making its appearance.
“Adrian,” I cooed softly. “Talk to me,”
“Bailey, it’s really not a good time,” he said sternly, lightly pulling my arms from off of him. I frowned my face up at his action before he stood and turned to look at me. “As soon as this boat docks, I’m leaving for New York,” My eyebrows meshed together, and my demeanor softened.
“How, Adrian? We’re still a few miles away from the city,” I told him. “Relax for a second and breathe. What’s going on? There’s nothing you can do right now,” Still, that didn’t stop Adrian from gathering the amount of clothing he did bring into the duffel bag he carried onto the boat.
“Justine’s crib been ransacked. My step pops just called telling me,” My mouth fell. “I need to be back home, now!” he gritted.
“Wait, slow down. What do you mean her crib was ransacked? Someone broke in?” I asked.
“That’s what the fuck ransack means, Bailey!” he yelled harshly. That easily made me shut my mouth, although I had something on the tip of my tongue that I wanted to say. Obviously, right now wasn’t the right time to rip into him or do anything that might make him more upset. I just thought that hearing that tidbit of information was really random. All of a sudden when Adrian isn’t even in the states something like this occurs? Although I knew someonewas out there looking for me, I knew it couldn’t have been anyone from my side. I just wouldn’t see it as something beneficial if they were looking to get me back, to be honest.
“If you’re going to New York, I’m going as well!” I stated with enough conviction to get my point across. Adrian didn’t bother to say anything to me, seeing as that his mind was already gone and that there was a high chance that the last thing on his mind was whether or not I accompanied him. I just wasn’t too positive if going back this soon was the best thing for neither of us.
__
Between those two days, might I add chaotic days, everything seemed to happen in a flash. There was literally no time to sit and allow things to marinate because time was moving too quickly. As soon as the boat had docked two days ago, we hastily returned to the villa, collecting our belongings. At this point, he hadn’t mentioned anything to anyone about what was occurring back home and rightfully so. It wasn’t until Justin had caught him packing his things and calling for his jet to arrive early the next morning for an abrupt departure did Adrian finally allow them to know what was up. However, he didn’t want everyone coming back at once, he barely wanted me to come back. So instead, he ordered August and Caiden to stay with Justine and Austin until he got to the bottom of this.
Adrian was really giving August the cold shoulder, unbeknownst to me and every time I tried to ask, he would just ignore me as if I didn’t ask a question. Austin was the least bit happy to see him leave. The two of them actually had a long conversation before Austin allowed his uncle to leave. After that, the five of us boarded the jet and was on our way back home. We had at least fifteen minutes left before we landed in New York and my nerves seemed to have skyrocketed in that amount of time. My legs continued to shake as I looked out at the sky. Everything was so tense, and I just felt like this was a foreshadowing of everything that was bound to happen.
An announcement detailing our landing ensued and I buckled up and leaned back into the cushioned chair. Adrian, Brian and Justin conversed the whole plane ride. About what? I don’t know and I doubt anyone will tell me. The plane landed safely, and I gathered the few belongings I did have, making my way to the entrance and exit of the private jet. From the somewhat large windows, I noticed a black Escalade waiting outside for what I assumed to be ours and as I slowly descended down the steps, the harsh air of New York nipped at my skin. It was still the middle of July, but it felt like the beginning of November.
“Welcome back, Mr. Peters,” Adrian had caught up with me and snaked his hand into mine, catching me off guard. He was either hot or cold and it was always unexpected. Adrian simply nodded and pulled me in the direction of the backseat. I got in first before he followed and from the window once again, I watched Justin and Brian talk for a few minutes before departing into another vehicle I hadn’t noticed before. Our luggage was put into the trunk and once we were all settled, we finally left. I stared at our conjoined hands and briefly looked at Adrian. It was crazy how I felt as if we were putting in all this energy for nothing to actually happen at the end of this. I wasn’t stupid and I knew that we could never be; I just didn’t understand why I was tricking myself into believing otherwise.
We had passed through multiple neighborhoods in order to get to Brooklyn. The brownstone that I had recognized a few months back belonged to none other than Justine. From the outside looking in, nothing seemed strange. “Com’on,” Adrian muttered, snapping me out of my thoughts. I moved without verbally speaking and trekked behind him slowly. It felt weird being in the city again, as if this was a place I was actually excited about being in. With ease, Adrian unlocked the front door and trekked further inside the house with me following close behind. Behind the light brown colored door, I didn’t know what I expected to see but I was certainly shocked as hell.
From coming here months ago, everything was left in a neat and primped order. Now, things were thrown out of the draws, furniture was flipped upside down, there was broken glass on the hardwood floor, things out of place and all pictures that were once on the wall appeared to be stepped on and scattered along the floor. My feet continued to carry me around the house, and I felt so bad for Justine. The fact that Adrian told her what happened and yet he’s forcing her to stay away, I just can’t seem to fathom what could possibly be going through her mind right now. We might be at odds but it’s obvious she’s going through it. I pushed one of the doors back slightly, revealing Adrian in what appeared to be Austin’s room. Compared to other rooms, this room was the one that remained the same and neat as hell. “This was all Lonnie’s doing,” Adrian said.
“Hmph,” I sounded, crossing my arms over my chest. I leaned against the doorframe and waited till Adrian turned to face me.
“What?” he snapped.
“Nothing,” I retorted. “I’m going to go wait in the car,” I declared, not knowing why my presence to be here to begin with was needed. This was just too much for me to take in.
“Your fucking attitude is not necessary,” he said, snatching my forearm in his hand. “You can drop that shit right now. I don’t know where that shit is coming from but let it go,”
“Fuck you,” I spat.
Adrian
I didn’t understand where this hostility was coming from with Bailey, but it was irritating the shit out of me. Right now was not the time for her to cop an attitude, especially with me. Old Adrian would not have a problem making a reappearance and I know that’s the last thing I know she wants. So it’s better if she remains to herself and stay out of my way. It’s bad enough that I got people gunning for me but to deal with Lonnie’s bullshit as well? Fine, I can handle it all then. Pulling up to my crib, I slipped out of the backseat, not bothering to wait for Bailey to leave as well. She got me too fucked up. I used the key to enter into the vacant household, nothing seemingly out of place. I briskly walked towards one of the hidden closets, yanking the door open and taking a look at the camera footage. As far as a brief look at the camera footage, there was no apparent break in, no one lurking around my premises and everything seemed to be copasetic. But in reality, it was far from it
Shaking my head, I trekked up the steps to my bedroom and slipping in with ease. To my surprise, bipolar ass Bailey was sitting down on my bed with an envelope in her hand. For a second, I believed that it was the one I had given her but by the expression on her face, I realized that it wasn’t as she extended her hand for me to take it. “This was left by the door. You would have seen it if you didn’t barge past,” she said.
I quickly glanced at it for a millisecond. “Go pack your things,” I muttered without glancing at her. I made my way towards the desk, sat down and began to open the envelope. At this point, I had no expectation for what I was about to see or read. I was drained from everything and a tiny part of me wished I had never been this curious to actually find out what had occurred over a year ago. Huffing dramatically, I finally found the willpower to open the envelope and grasp the crisp letter out of it. Since when did niggas feel like it was appropriate to send letters? I scanned the letter, going straight towards the end to see whether or not the sender left a name and to no surprise, there wasn’t. “Type of bullshit is this,” I mumbled, beginning to read the tell-all letter. Within the first paragraph, I already knew who was behind this and I was itching to find him.
What’s hidden in the dark, must come to light sooner or later, right? Well, at least I think so. There’s really so much to be said but only so much space to write it all, this’ll have to do though. I think it’s best if we start from the very beginning. Remember that plan you had with Ryan that seemed to fail miserably? Well, there’s a few reasons why that plan actually failed to begin with. One,you were working with Ryan of all people. Two, Ryan is my friend, emphasis on friend. Three, there are a lot of people willing to see the demise of you and four, your family will turn on you in a heartbeat when it works in their favor.
That was your first downfall. But of course with every action, there is a consequence and yours was not an exception. But see, it could have been. But not when your plan has been switched into a set up by none other than your precious sister. Oh yes! She’s the one that hatched the idea. But don’t worry, she wasn’t the only one in on it. It was the three of us. Ryan, Justineand me of course. I don’t need to write my name, you know by now, right?
Anyhow, the goal was to destroy you. It was working pretty well to start off. Once I found out you were working with Ryan, I knew that this was the perfect time to make my move, but it wouldn’t have worked as efficiently if Justine wasn’t apart of the mix. With a little convincing, fake promises and fucking your sister’s brain out on a daily, she finally gave in. She acted as our insider. Of course, there was going to be things you didn’t want Ryan to know and the only way any sort of information would leave your lips, is if you told Justine. She was really convincing with wanting to know, huh? She probably made it seem like she cared wholeheartedly. Wrong. After collecting all the information we did need on you, we devised a plan to set you up.
I informed Ryan on this and he gladly assisted and played his part. Justine was the one that made sure you were caught in the act of doing something illegal. So ultimately, Justine is the reason why you had that little stint in prison. Fucked up, right? Well your sister isn’t as innocent as she plays to be, how unfortunate. She was the one that made sure the FBI knew when and where to locate you so you would be the one caught with your hands tied. Being that, that was a successful plan, I took the initiative to wire money out of your bank accounts, you know, the one that has your illegal and legal money? Check your funds during the period of time when you were incarcerated, your legal account that is.
All information supplied by your lovely sister.
But that’s not it. Things get much more juicer. I’m pretty sure you’re fuming right about now, and this will most certainly anger you. For Justine’s sake, I hope she isn’t near you.
If you recall, the same time you were put on trial was the same time Austin went missing. Well, he wasn’t truly missing. I knew where he was andso did Justine. I guess you can’t really blame Justine for this but then you can. I knew that if you found out something were to happen to your nephew, you would potentially jeopardize your life in order to make sure he is safe. So, I came up with the idea of using Austin as a piece of my plan. The whole idea was to make you come out of character to gain a higher sentencing, working in my favor to slowly destroy what empire you seem to have. It didn’t work but my plans still went through.
Justine wasn’t too fond of the idea, but I didn’t care. I told her about what I had in mind and that I would need Austin to execute this. While I pretended to act as if I was done plotting, I asked if I could have Austin for the weekend; the same week in which he was took. This is when I was still given time with Austin before she was granted sole custody. Anyhow, in that time period, I mentioned to Ryan, your number one enemy, what plan I had in mind and the cut he would have in this if he went along with it. And he did. To cut a long story short, I told Austin to go the corner store where Ryan was waiting already and that’s when he was taken. I clearly knew where my son was and so did Justine, she just didn’t know what was happening to her beloved baby… that is until she saw it for herself. If I were you, I would fuck Ryan’s life up for abusing Austin, but I can’t say much since I allowed for it to happen.
Check the police reports if I were you.
All in all, what I was seeking for didn’t work out since I didn’t get the reaction out of you that I wanted. But in the long run, I see that I still managed to cause some damage. I know that by the end of this letter, you’ll probably come after Ryan and I, and I’m perfectly fine with that; my job is done. Your sister isn’t as perfect and innocent as she seems, huh? Who would ever think she would aid in harming her own brother and lying about her knowledge of Austin? Just go and ask her and see how quickly she fucks up and begins to stutter-
I couldn’t even find it in me to finish the rest of the letter. What I read thus far, I didn’t want to believe nor think it could ever be true. But my mind was racing, and everything was slowly piecing together… Before I could even process my actions, my fist was colliding with the white colored walls.
Bailey
I had one suitcase packed to capacity with all the amount of clothing I seemed to have accumulated over the few months. Being back in New York just gave me this weird feeling. It was once a city that I adored but it just brings me to the point of exhaustion. Like, everything that I despise and want to get away from is here. There’s absolutely no way of avoiding it and with seeing how destroyed Justine’s place is, I know it’s only a matter of time before shit hits closer to home. It had been over an hour since being back at the house and I hadn’t heard not a thing from Adrian. I don’t know if that could possibly pose as a good thing or not but whatever it meant, I was slightly worried since he usually checks up on me despite the situation. I probably acted like a bitch earlier when I didn’t have to, but this was all getting to me and I just wanted to be done with it all.
Standing up to retrieve my black Timberland boots, I heard an unusual sound from one of the rooms on the same level as me and went to take a look outside. I stood near the staircase, staring down below and not noticing a thing at all. I must be hearing things. The minute I went to head back into my room, I heard that same exact sound again, making me walk quickly in the direction of the source. To my surprise, Adrian stood in Justine’s room, fucking up all of her personal items. What? Adrian seemed like such a different person so quickly; his face was completely flushed red, his veins were more conspicuous, his chest was heaving in and out rapidly and there was a noticeable amount of blood on his clothing and hand.
I felt like in these past two days I found myself asking him way too many questions like, what’s going on, what’s wrong, etc, and I can see my questions annoying him which is why I’m so timid in actually asking now. However, I didn’t want to see him self-destruct and cause any more harm than what he’s already doing. I just wish Brian and Justin were around to diffuse this situation for me. Despite me being in the same room as him, it didn’t stop him from causing any more damage, even when he looked at me. It seemed like it just ignited more anger. But that’s when I knew I should step in and say something to him. Slowly stepping over broken items, I trailed closely next to Adrian and placed my hand on his back in a somewhat comforting manner. “Whatever is happening right now, I think you should stop and relax before you jump to anymore conclusions,” I said calmly.
“My sister is a fucking fraud, Bailey. You can’t trust no one,” he yelled with frustration. I knew the less detailed questions I asked him, the better for him but I wasn’t understanding. “I want her out my fucking house!”
“You can’t kick her out. Where will she go? Her house is trashed!” I exclaimed, grabbing the glass vase from his hand before he had a chance to smash it against the wall.
“I don’t care where she goes; I don’t. I just know I don’t want to see her in my face,” he gritted.
“You know you would be an asshole for that, right?” I said seriously. He snatched away his hand from me causing me to stumble, trip over the material on the floor and land on my bottom. “Fuck,” I hissed, feeling the glass that was located on the floor pierce my skin. Adrian hovered over me and pulled my face in his grasp.
“You don’t get it, do you? My own blood sister turned her back on me for a stupid nigga like Lonnie. She played the innocent role until shit caught up to her. She can’t even be truthful or loyal to her own blood?” he asked rhetorically. “I don’t want that shit around me. Fuck her! I knew there was a reason you can’t trust everyone. I knew it and it’s sad as fuck that my sister had to confirm that shit for me. I’ve been telling you for the longest not to trust everyone you encounter, B. You see the shit I’m dealing with?!”
“But that doesn-“ I said with my voice muffled a bit since he was restricting me from talking properly.
“Yes the fuck it does. How would you feel if you knew the person who killed Riley was staying up in this crib?” he said seriously, snatching his hand away from my face. My face contorted into confusion at his words. I didn’t know if he was saying that to be a jackass or if he had meant it but the longer the silence lingered in the air while he continued to viciously throw Justine’s shit around, I began to slowly connect the dreadful pieces.
“You killed him?” I said, surprisingly loud with just the right amount of bass.
“I was in jail, couldn’t have been me. But, August? Yeah, he did,” he said nonchalantly. I could feel my body heat rise and the once loving vibe that used to encompass this house with all the lively people that lived in it, vanished within a heartbeat and I felt myself breaking down all over again. How could they have possibly gone through so many months and not think to mention such a thing? How could August sit in my face and hold plenty of conversations with me but omit to mention he killed Riley? I’m a thousand percent sure they knew of who I was before this, who I surrounded myself around and so forth. For them to think they could hide something like this for so long, boggled my mind and it actually hurts my feelings. My bottom lip trembled with force as I stood up slowly, slightly cringing at the feel of the glass cuts on my exposed legs.
“Wow, Adrian,” I chuckled darkly. “You allowed me to sit there and pour my heart out to you about Riley when you already knew of him? You had me thinking you didn’t know a damn thing about him, and you sat up in my face, knowing damn well you did and to make matters worse, you knew who fucking killed him. You preach all this nonsense about being truthful and being trustworthy, but you can’t even fucking tell me the truth from day one?”
“Niggas die every day, B,” he dismissed. I couldn’t help the tears that began to pool at the corner of my eye.
“And you don’t even fucking care. I’m so speechless right now,” I muttered, refusing to allow any tears to leave from my eyes, at least not in front of his emotionless face. “I’m so stupid for believing a nigga like you,” I mumbled, briskly walking past him and out of the haphazard room. There were no footsteps heard behind me at all so I knew that he hadn’t followed me. To think that Adrian would be 100% honest with me and would at least have the decency to tell me something like this earlier, blows my mind. He could tell me everything else, including how Ryan ain’t shit but couldn’t tell me this? Although it wasn’t necessarily him that pulled the trigger, it might as well have been with the way he was holding out on potentially telling me. August didn’t even have the guts to tell me and made me wonder if that was the reason Adrian was giving him the cold shoulder all along. Shaking my head, a part of me was glad that I once again was snapped back into reality of Adrian and his bullshit. But then there was another part of me that just wished I knew this sooner and that August would have opened his mouth. I mean, what’s the worse that I can do? It’s not like I can resurrect Riley, but this does indeed leave me with weight on my shoulders now.
All that was running through my mind at the moment was fuck it.
I was drained.
Emotionally and psychically.
What I would do just to be in my bed for a day, the options are endless.
I would love to wake up and think of this as a horrible nightmare.
I just know that Adrian is the last person I want to see, and I have plans of getting away from him. I just didn’t know where I would go. It’s not like I can waltz back into my parent’s house, let alone my old apartment.
I tried my hardest to stop the influx of tears as it worked to no avail, causing me to become flustered. The white envelope that Adrian so graciously gifted me with a few days ago sat upon the neat bad, waiting to be unfolded and read. I didn’t want to potentially see anything else that Adrian might have to say, whether it be written down or not, but something was urging me to do it now so if it was a heartache, I could get over it quickly. Snatching the paper of the bed, I quickly ripped it open, not caring how it looked appearance wise and slipped out the blank white card that was contained inside. In what appeared to be words written by a sharpie, were three of the most important words I never thought I would get the chance to do while here and from the fact that it came from Adrian made me quite suspicious. Why is he playing with my emotions? It read:
Call your pops.
At this point, I rather take that call from Ryan.
Dancer {Jung Hoseok}
Words: 3855
   Notes: Part 2, perhaps???
   Summary: After a video of you dancing to Bangtan goes viral, the boys take notice of it pretty quickly. Specifically, a certain fellow dancer.
   Warning: Nothing, really. Mild fluff, I guess, but nothing major.
   Pairing: Hoseok x Reader
Tumblr media
  “I just don’t understand why you have to drag me into this.”
   "Because, Y/N, you’re the only friend I know that actually has a useful talent,“ Eun, your best friend and Bangtan fanatic, replies, all the while shoving you into the centre of the sidewalk.
   Eun was often what people called ‘dramatic.’ A bit of an obsessive when it came to things she loved. It was a chore being around her - one you had taken up only seven years earlier - due to her never ending list of Bangtan related conversation topics that she rang off like a memorised list.
     At the beginning, you didn’t mind. You often danced to Bangtan’s songs, learning their choreography because it always got your heart rate pumping, a feeling you had become relatively addicted to over time. But then it became all she cared about.
     You never complained - complaining wouldn’t get you anywhere. You let her talk and talk about Namjoon and his 'perfect dimples’ for hours on end, simply listening and commenting with the odd sarcastic comment every now and then.
     But today was the day she had taken it all a bit too far - Bangtan were coming back to Korea to play one of the biggest shows of the year, and Eun needed money for her ticket.
     Eun could never simply get a part time job or do some chores or take out a small loan for the relatively cheap tickets - she had to take the hard way.
    "I get nervous dancing in front of people,” you say, because Eun had decided that she would earn money by making you dance in the middle of the cities square.
     "Pretend they’re naked,“ Eun advices, all too casually. "I heard that helps.”
    You crinkle your nose up, looking down at your best friend as she messes with the antenna of the old radio she had decided to use. You hadn’t even rehearsed - whatever song she put on, you would have to find some rhythm and simply roll with it.
      You groan at the thought, flicking your attention to the large crowd which scattered the city square already at this time of day. Barely anybody took any notice of you, but you knew that would change once you started whatever routine you could pull out in a number of seconds.
     "Bultorine.“
   Eun jumps up with a squeal and slaps your shoulder roughly. "Go! Go! Go! You know the choreography to this.”
    You don’t move. The sound of FIRE runs through your body, the song blasting and making attention turn to you and your best friend. It makes your cheeks flush, and you quickly pull your coats hood on over your head to hide it.
      Eun narrows her eyes, sending you a glare. “Are you seriously backing out now?”
     "I never agreed to it!“ you nearly yell. "Do you really need tickets that badly that you’re gonna make me embarrass myself in the middle of the city?”
      “It won’t be embarrassing if you get it right,” Eun grumbles, before she has thrown her hat on the ground and is twirling around you like some before-show act.
    You roll your eyes, no longer able to take the embarrassment of just standing there. You could either distract yourself with dancing, or you could continue to look stupid by simply standing motionless.
     And so begins the motions of your body. It takes a while to get into it, the intensity of the choreography being something you hadn’t been prepared for, but by the second chorus, you’re moving along to the song as if you had made up the choreography yourself. It feels good. It feels like you’re being released from an imaginary grip, and you love every moment of it. You barely notice the number of people who stop to look at you, smart phones out as they film your fluid movements. Money gets dropped into Eun’s hat and people are clapping and dancing along to the songs which play on shuffle behind you. Even songs that you hadn’t learned the official choreography to, you make stuff up on the spot.
      It’s easy enough when you have been dancing as long as you have. Song after song after song, dance after dance, until you can no longer keep yourself upright due to the exhaustion which catches up to you. As 'Danger’ continues to play behind you, you belch and fall to the floor, gasping for breath which you hadn’t even realised you’d been deprived of until now. Almost as soon as your feet hit the floor, a burst of applause erupts from the crowd which had apparently formed during your performance. You look up weakly, cheeks immediately flushing whenever you see a large number of faces staring at you, grins and applause and all.
   It wasn’t what you had expected, but it makes you feel better. You duck your head down to look at the floor, your hair falling into your face to hide the growing blush which crawls up your neck and attacks your cheeks.
   “That was incredible!” you hear Eun yelling as she collects up the money the kind passers-by had placed in her hat. It didn’t look like a lot when you initially looked into it, but Eun didn’t seem to mind. She simply wraps a loose arm over your shoulders, grinning from ear to ear as she helps your exhausted and sweaty frame stand up straight again. “God, Y/N. I knew you were a dancer, but you didn’t tell me you’d been practising.”
   “I haven’t,” you belch out. “Can we please get something to eat now? I think I might pass out. How long was I dancing for?”
   “A good half hour,” she replies, and the numbers make your head spin. Never once had adrenaline caught you that fast and that intense. Dancing always took away your pain, always made you happy, but you could never do such high intensity choreography for so long. You didn’t know what was different on this day that had helped you achieve such a thing.
   But that wasn’t what mattered right now. You continued to think of the faces which had looked at you from afar, the smiling children as they clapped along to the songs playing and 'aw'ed at the way you moved your hips and the way your arms worked so well with every other part of your body, even when they weren’t the main focus. It made a warm feeling sprout in the pit of your stomach – you enjoyed seeing people’s happy reactions to your dancing.
    Days had passed and Eun had barely brought up the amount of money she had left to collect to be able to afford Bangtan tickets. It was a nice change – you initiated the conversations. You were able to speak about your interests, and you had to give it to your friend – she barely seemed uninterested at all. The odd time she would stop you speaking so she could ask a much needed question about whatever topic you had chosen to talk about, but other than that, she seemed completely willing to listen.
   Today was one of the days when the two of you were stuck studying – at least, Eun was. You were no longer in school, though that never stopped you from joining Eun on her studying days. They were the nicer days of the week, the days where you and her could simply sit in her room and enjoy the silence.
    You spent this day dancing in the middle of Eun’s bedroom. She lay sprawled out on her bed, tapping away on her laptop with an array of open notebooks flooding around her. Textbooks written in English, textbooks with shapes scribbled on the inside with writing you would never be able to decipher even if you had studied these particular subjects.
   The music played away in your earphone and you let it take over. Ever since your performance in the city square, you hadn’t been able to stop yourself. Anytime you would play music, an entire choreography would come along with it.
   Your music played in your ear so loud that you barely heard Eun screaming from her bed. If it wasn’t for the sudden thump which shook the floor as your best friend fell off the edge of her bed, you would never have noticed it.
   You yelp, yanking the headphone from your ear and turning to look at Eun with a startled expression. She gazes up at her phone which hangs above her face, her eyes wide and her jaw open.
   “My God, Eun,” you snap. “You scared the-”
   “You are a gift sent from God, Y/N L/N!” Eun exclaims, hopping up suddenly. You watch her, narrowed eyes as she quickly types something into her phone before thrusting it into your grip. You stumble, catching it before it falls as Eun goes back to doing a small happy dance in the middle of her room.
   You look down at the smashed screen in your hand, reading the email through the cracks:
 Hi! This is Bangtan Seonyondan’s tour manager – if we are correct, the boys will be playing a show in your city this week. We recently came across a video which consisted of your friend – with whom we can’t seem to find the email to – dancing to a number of Bangtan’s songs. The boys were beyond impressed and would want nothing more than to meet you and the girl in question. We have organised tickets to be given to you, alongside backstage passes so the boys can meet you. If this isn’t too much trouble, please get in touch with us to arrange details and confirm the meeting.
   Thanks!
   Bangtan Management.
   For a second, you’re almost positive it’s a prank. There’s nothing else it can be – it certainly can’t be real. You knew people had filmed you that day, but for the videos to go as far as Bangtan’s own management? It didn’t seem likely.
   But the more you read it, the more you searched for a reason for it to be fake, any evidence that it was a hoax, the less that showed up. The business email it had come from seemed legit, and it was no secret that Eun’s email was littering all Bangtan fan cafe’s and websites due to her obsession with getting noticed by them.
    “Your video!” Eun continues to yell as you finally look up from the screen. You’re completely speechless, your hand beginning to shake with nerves and excitement and disbelief – all rolled into one, massive array of emotions that makes you feel like you could nearly break down in tears.
   “A-Are you going to reply?” you ask, timidly. Eun stops jumping and scoffs.
   “I already have. We’re going to Bangtan’s concert on Saturday night, Y/N. And it’s all thanks to you!”
    Screaming girls. Signs being waved left right and centre. A massive stage placed almost with no thought in the middle of it all.
   And then there was you; a single person amongst thousands who had shown up to the stadium for todays concert. All you had done was dance to their songs – girls must have done that all the time. It wasn’t like there was no such thing as BTS dance covers, but for some reason, yours had been chosen to be noticed.
   It made you feel – something. Something was certainly brewing in the pit of your stomach as you tapped your foot idly, security guards keeping a close eye on you and Eun as the two of you wait back stage for the boys show to finish. You had been given the best view in the house – directly beside the stage, and yet not one of the boys had spoken two words to you the entire night.
   You didn’t blame them. Eun certainly wasn’t making the two of you look approachable with the screaming and crying she had been doing on and off for the past two hours.
   She had dolled up for this specific occasion, a fact you were not surprised to see. Her cleavage showed and spilled over the top of her tank top, along with a pair of denim shorts and converse. Her make up was done to an impeccable finish which had gained multiple comments already, and her hair was pulled into the neatest up-do you had ever seen her attempt.
   Then there was you in your green bomber jacket and skinny jeans, a pair of boots being the fanciest thing you had worn tonight. You didn’t know how concerts worked, so when you showed up to see a bunch of teenage girls wearing very little clothing, it was quite a firm shock to the system.
   But then the screaming was stopping and the boys were flooding into the backstage area after disappearing under the floor of the main stage. You shuffle into the back of the crowd of staff members, hugging your arms around your waist as you try to make yourself as small as possible – you didn’t realise how nervous you would feel at this opportunity. You were the one they wanted to meet, so why did you feel so worked up?
   Eun was the opposite. As soon as the show had ended and the lights had dimmed, she was craning her neck over the crowd and waving at random people who were walking in from the main stage – the sound technician seemed all too interested in her, smiling and talking her through the process of what makes a BTS show.
   In no time, she had been led off and you were left on your own backstage.
   That was until your eyes joined his.
   You had heard of him before – of course you had – but seeing him in person was a completely different thing. Seeing the suit he was wearing, the sweat dripping off the ends of his hair and the way his make up seemed to run just that little bit, revealing only a sneak peak of his natural skin. He rubbed a towel on the back of his neck, his eyes already on you when you looked up.
   He was smiling. Why was he smiling? You were half tempted to look over your shoulder, completely lost as to what he could possibly find so interesting about the shy girl standing in the corner.
   “You must be Y/N,” you hear Hoseok say, confirming all suspicions that he had seen you and it was far too late for you to try and make a run for it.
   Numbly, you nod your head. You aren’t sure if you’re smiling or not, or if you’re frowning or if you’ve even moved when he is standing in front of you at last.  Maybe it’s his good looks, or the way he completely and utterly seems like a normal person, but you can barely feel anything at this moment.
   “I saw your friend backstage a while ago,” Hoseok continues, chuckling as he thinks of Eun. “She seems-”
   “Sorry,” you blurt out, not entirely sure what you’re apologising for. “She can be a bit much for some people. She’s just a really big fan.”
  Hoseok narrows his eyes, letting the towel slip from his fingers so it falls onto the sofa at the side of you two. “She’s the big fan? I thought it would be you. I saw your video and I was -” He shakes his head, his eyes wide. “I was in awe. I’ve never seen someone dance so long, and not once did you lose the rhythm. You have a real talent.”
   A blush creeps onto your cheeks before you can stop it. You smile to yourself, looking down at your boots and it is only then do you realise just how underdressed you must look when standing next to him. Tall, slender, a suit pulled firmly over his shoulders that he had just danced in for two hours. He was the dancer – you were the fan who had made a cover of his songs.
   “I’m a fan,” you say without looking up. Hoseok notices this small quirk of yours – the lack of eye contact – but is polite enough to stay silent. “But Eun definitely loves you guys. The only reason I was dancing was so she could earn money to get tickets for the show tonight.”
   Hoseok’s eyes widen. “Really? Well, this worked out perfectly, then! How much did you make?”
  You hollow out your cheeks. “Not a lot. Not enough. She was happy, though, so I guess that’s a good thing.”
   Hoseok nods his head gently, a small smile gracing his lips that seems genuine. It was genuine. He had never before met such a talented person who had no idea just how talented they were. He knew himself he was a good dancer – he never failed to tell people that fact about himself, because it was something of himself he was proud of. He had worked for years to be at the level he was at now, so why not show it off? Why keep it hidden beneath a layer of modesty that he didn’t even need?
    But as he looked down at you now, he realises that you genuinely don’t seem to know the extent of your talents. It’s not everyday he stumbles across somebody who knows how to dance to his choreography almost perfectly for thirty minutes straight, without showing any evidence of fatigue.
   Not even the members could do that, and it was their choreography.
   Without thinking of what he was doing, Hoseok had began to giggle. You look up, curiosity getting the better of you and you find yourself gradually melting when your eyes meet his. There’s amusement in them – amusement that was always there, just never to the extent it was now. You narrow your eyes, tilting your head only a fraction to the side as if to question Hoseok on what is so funny.
   He smiles at you, nods behind him, grabs your hand and is dragging you through backstage in seconds. You yelp, stumbling after him as he bombards through a crowd of staff who all claw for him to sit down and get out of his clothes so they can head back to the hotel, but he ignores almost all of them. He continues to giggle that high pitched giggle as he leads you through the winding corridors, and before long, the two of you have stopped in a large, spacious room that you hadn’t seen during the tour you had been given.
   “Where are we?” you ask, apprehensively. Hoseok lets go of your hand and twirls into the centre of the room, bursting his arms out around him as if that explained everything.
   “This, my talented friend, is the practice room of the studio,” he replies, letting his hands flourish down. You watch him closely as he pulls his cellphone from his inside pocket and begins to swipe through his music folder.
   “Are you not exhausted?” you ask. “You’ve just been dancing for two hours straight.”
   Hoseok looks up as he finally picks a song – MAMA, by him, one of your favourite songs – and smiles. “Seeing a fellow dancer has given me adrenaline. You know the choreography?”
   You find yourself smiling, your legs and arms already working away at the steps you had so long ago memorised. Hoseok chuckles as you bound into the centre of the room, and soon, the two of you are in perfect sync, dancing to the beautiful tune which he sings along to as the two of you make the jumps and the steps perfect.
   You feel so unbelievably free in this moment. The music floods you, just like they always say it does. Being around Hoseok, catching the small glimpses of his own skill as you weave around the practice room together, gives you that little bit more adrenaline. Because he certainly isn’t a rookie. The way his hips move and the way he perfectly keeps in beat with the song, the intensity of it all, says it all.
    But he’s thinking the exact same thing about you. He’s shocked. The choreography had been made by him on his own, and so it was obviously difficult. It was an experts level, so seeing you fly through it with so much certainty in every step and so much courage as you smile up at the roof – it’s strange for him to see. It’s refreshing, almost.
   The music comes to a stop all too soon. You finish with the ending pose, before you bound upwards, excitement fuelling you in this moment. Hoseok grunts, falling onto one knee as he attempts to catch his breath, looking up at you in shock as you continue to jump around, doing random twirls in the air as little giggles escape your mouth.
   “There has to be something wired wrong in your system,” Hoseok comments, making you pause to look at him. “I’m exhausted. That choreography-”
   “We should do Fire next,” you say, grinning from ear to ear. “That’s the one I’m best at.”
   “That wasn’t your best?”
   You shrug. “It’s my favourite song, if that helps.” Hoseok flushes, the compliment meaning more to him than he would ever admit. You chuckle, folding your arms over your chest. “I can teach you some of my own choreography.”
   Hoseok narrows his eyes, slumping down fully on the floor. “You make your own choreography?”
   “To other peoples songs,” you confirm. “I just – I dunno. Sometimes the beat goes better with something else in my head, so I do it. I usually end up coming out with something completely different to the original, but I’m pretty proud of what I come up with. I can show you if you want.”
   And Hoseok doesn’t know why he agrees, because he’s tired, and he’s busy and he knows full well that the other boys will tease him beyond anything when they find out, but he agrees. He stands up and he lets you take him through each and every individual move you had come up with purely on a whim, counting the steps so easily.
    You don’t know why you enjoy yourself so much, either. Because you’re a shy girl. You spend your life locked in your room, listening to music and making up random choreography for each song which comes on shuffle, but the way Hoseok listens and the way his body moves and the way he smiles at you has you feeling something that makes you just want to see it all more often. You want to see his smile more often, you want to see him work his body around your choreography more often, you want to see him more often, and the feeling is weird and scary but you thrive off of the adrenaline it feeds you.
   You don’t want this to be the end. Either does Hoseok.
A loud bang from next door wakes you. You jolt up hastily in your bed, sleepy fog clouding your brain. It takes you a moment to remember you're in a motel and not your room in the bunker. Sam laid sound asleep in the single bed next to yours, undeterred by the noise. His and your laptops lay open on the table in the centre of the room. Books were strewn across the floor. You were having no luck working out what this damn creature was, so decided to call it a night and try again in the morning with refreshed and rested minds.
More banging and crashing next door, this time Sam did awake and sit up, his tight white t-shirt and scuffed bed hair just visible in the small amount of light.
“What the hell?” he groans, rubbing his eyes.
“It's coming from Dean's room...” you yawn, “Sounds like he just got back...”
You reach for your phone on the bedside table and click the screen on, the blaring light taking your eyes by surprise and making you wince. It was 3am, you'd managed maybe an hours worth of light sleep.
“Should we check on him?” you ask the younger Winchester. “I wouldn't,” Sam grumbles, like he knew something you didn't.
Right on cue, laughter could be heard next door, both male and female.
“Huh,” you huff, “Someone got distracted when scouting the locals for info at the bar then...”
“Are you honestly surprised?”
You sigh deeply, of course you weren't surprised. The laughter next door silenced, replaced now with moans.
“Oh god...” you whine, grimacing.
Sam doesn't reply, but rubs his forehead with embarrassment.
Banging started again next door. The familiar thud and squeaks of a creaky bed hitting the wall. The precise wall that separated your room from his.
You groan again childishly, dropping back to the mattress violently and tightly gripping the pillow around your head to blot out the noise.
Dean's lady friend sounded like she was having a swell time, her moans becoming over the top screams of pleasure, calling out his name and wailing with the full force of her lungs.
“IS HE FUCKING SERIOUS!?” you snap, roaring hysterically as you sit back up and punch at the wall, “Knock it off you pair of sluts!!!”
Nothing changes, if anything the volume somehow increases. You clench your eyes shut, gritting your teeth and trying to not let the red mist descend. The rustling sound of movement from Sam's direction grabs your attention. Opening one eye, you see him getting out of bed, throwing on a shirt and heading back to his laptop.
“What are you doing?” you question.
“Well I'm not listening to that,” he remarks, plugging some headphones into laptop's jack, “Might as well carry on where I left off.”
You whimper, throwing your head back with a light thud against the wall behind you. The realisation that you can now feel the vibrations from that pair next door's shenanigans is too much to bear. You reluctantly follow Sammy’s suit, finding your way back over to your computer and plugging in some headphones of your own. You pick out your loudest heavy rock playlist, hoping the sound of blaring guitars is enough to drown them two out as well as keep you awake.
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
Hours passed. Every now and then you would tentatively remove one earbud to see if the 'action' was over. You gave up trying after the fifth attempt. Researching with Sam was a regular occurrence. You had your habits that you'd developed together while doing so. You'd take it in turns to go fetch coffee, laugh and share when you'd accidentally stumbled on not so legit lore sites, take breaks and check each other's internet history to see whose laptop Dean had stolen for a porn fix. The idle chit-chat was what made it though. You and Sam could just sit and talk all matter of subjects for days if given the opportunity. The research would probably get done a lot faster if you focused more on that. That's what made this particular session all the more torturous, besides Dean's sexual gorilla grunts echoing from next door. You couldn't talk. You had heavy guitar murdering your eardrums, and you suspected Sam was no doubt listening to some form of educational history podcast. He was such a nerd, but you thought it was cute.
°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。°。
As more time dragged past, you felt the fatigue begin to hit. Sleep deprivation made your eyes tired,  the harsh light from the computer screen made them ache. Your ears were no doubt going to start bleeding soon from the loud music attacking them. Not to mention you were bored. So damn bored. The lack of interaction was mind-numbing, time to rectify this. You brought up your email, and proceeded to send Sam a message.
I'm bored.
You notice the change in colour to the light reflecting onto Sam's clothes, confirming he'd received your whiny note. You got a reply.
Ditto.
I'm making Dean's life hell today, just so you know. I need my beauty sleep dammit!
No objections here! What are you planning?
I haven't thought that far ahead...
Sam looked over the top of his screen at you. A mischievous twinkle in those hazel eyes. You raise an inquisitive eye and wear a curious smile. You observe as he slowly removes his headphones, and expresses a sigh of relief. You remove yours too, to be met with wondrous silence.
“At last!” you cheer, “I need sleeeeep.”
“Bit late for that now really,” Sam grimaces, flashing his phone screen at you to reveal it was now 10am.
“Damn you Dean Winchester,” you grumble sulkily shooting a glare at the wall he resided behind, “I at least need coffee then. Shall I do a run?”
“First,” he smiles, swishing a pointed finger through the air, “Got an idea.”
You narrow your eyes with slight suspicion, watching him head towards one of the beds and grab the rail at the bottom of it. He pulls the bed back and slams it hard into the wall.
“Whoa!” you jump, “What the hell Sammy?”
“Ugh!” he groans loudly, “Oh, Y/N!”
You choke on a laugh, not quite believing what you're seeing. You hastily join his side, grabbing the bed and aiding him in crashing it into the wall.
“Sammy!” you squeal dramatically, “Oh god! Please! Deeper! Faster!”
The immaturity continues, the both of you stifling childish laughs as you slam the bed harder and shout with all the gusto you have. Soon enough, you're putting so much effort and energy into it, you were getting hot and sweaty like the real deal, minus the tears of laughter.
“Sam!” you cry enthusiastically, “I'm so close! Oh! Ah!”
Finally, a noise from next door, the door slamming. You quickly bring a finger to your lips, gesturing to Sam to be quiet and you both fall into silence, shoulder's shaking wildly from trying to hold back your laughs. What sounds like fists start thumping on your room's door, followed by Dean's raised voice.
“Guys!!” he blares, “I mean...finally and all that but c'mon! Some consideration for others please!!”
You're practically biting your fist, mortified at his hypocrisy. After a few moments, you hear the next room's door slam once again.
“Can you believe him?” you titter, gasping for breath from all the laughter.
“Unfortunately yes,” Sam chuckles wiping tears from his eyes.
“But er...” you shuffle on your feet, “What d'ya think he meant by... 'finally'?”
Okay so could you write a headcanon where 2 random boys (can you pick then? I love all of boys from hq) and Ushi-kun where they walk on their gfs fangirling or thirsting over another anime/game character?And she was talking how hot he is? How they would react?👀😂 have a great day/night and dont forget to eat and get rest, love you💕
A/N: hahahahaha i laughed while writing this. FYI these are all based on legit crushes i had on anime/game characters at some point in my life - see if you’ve watched the shows i’ve watched :) ILY I PROMISE I’M DOING MY BEST TO EAT THREE MEALS A DAY AND GET ADEQUATE SLEEP MWAH. also i went overboard and added an extra boy bc why not. These are a little shorter since there were 4 characters but I hope you enjoy!
Content warning: implied nsfw for Atsumu + slight nsfw hcs for Matsukawa (Matukawa’s hcs are below the cut - UPDATE TUMBLR IS NOT LETTING ME PUT THE CUT WHERE I WANT IT SO JUST LETTING YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS IMPLIED/SLIGHT NSFW FOR THE LAST 2 CHARACTERS
PS: If anyone wants a spicy sequel/one shot for matsukawa i’m open to the idea 👀👀 let me know in my inbox!
Ushijima Wakatoshi
Ushijima definitely knows you’re into anime + games
Having visited your dorm room on multiple occasions he’s seen your extensive collection of manga, anime posters and you always seem to be playing on your switch whenever you have free time
Of course, he notices a significant portion of your collection is centered on male characters
And you’ve definitely mentioned a few games to him - Ikemen Sengoku, Code:Realize, Hakuouki (wow i’m really out here exposing myself) etc.
He doesn’t really mind though? Like - at the end of the day these are 2D men, whereas he is a very real boyfriend
At least he thinks he doesn’t mind
Recently, he notices that you seem to be on your phone a lot, and you seem to be texting the same group chat very often
He asks why and you laugh - it’s not actual text messages you’re just trying out a new otome/simulation game called Mystic Messenger. He finds the name silly but he just brushes it off he’s definitely J E A L O U S
Until one day he walks into your room while you’re calling one of your friends to freak out about that specific game
You sound kind of teary from outside the door “Oh MY GOD OH MY GOD I GOT THE GOOD ENDING WITH JUMIN!” and “[friend name] I THINK I CAN DIE HAPPY I’M MARRIED TO JUMIN HAN WHAT MORE DO I NEED IN LIFE” and “HE’S SO FREAKING ATTRACTIVE UGH I AM BLESSED”
He’s like who TF is Jumin and immediately bursts into your room looking pissed off
Poor babie is all like “you’re married?” and “if you had someone else you were interested in you should have told me.” “Who is this Jumin Han???” 🧐
Oh my god you start cackling, but you manage to tell him that NO you are not married and that Jumin Han is a fictional character from the game you’re playing
Ushijima looks confused after you explain - why would you find fictional men attractive when you’re already dating him?
Tendou almost dies laughing the next day when Ushijima tells him about what happened
Oikawa Tooru
Since practice finishes pretty late he usually goes to see you at your house at night, but tonight things wrapped up earlier - he’s excited to spend more time with you
You’ve finished up most of your homework so you’ve just been rewatching Attack on Titan since you’re super excited for the new season
You’re kinda distracted/have headphones on so you don’t hear your boyfriend knock on the front door. Your mom answers it and lets him in and he climbs the stairs
He can hear your fangirling (freaking out) over something as he walks towards your room
You jump in surprise when he opens the door, because you thought he would be a bit later but immediately release your pent up excitement
“Tooru just LOOK at him he’s such a bad ass like oh my gosh he literally has swords and he’s still running around slaying the MPs who have guns. God whenever he gets angry he looks so hot,” etc. etc.
You’re shoving your laptop in his face, showing him gifs and video of attack on titan, specifically the captain of the survey corps that you are obsessed with
Tooru gets it - for him its space, shitty alien films and astronomy. For you it’s video games and anime - or more specifically, handsome characters from said franchises
Even though he understand that it’s something you’re passionate about he still makes a whole show about whining how you’re in love with Levi Ackerman (lmao i still thirst over our favorite captain) instead of him
“y/n i’m taller than him! And more handsome! He has blood on him all the time! And he’s super annoying because he’s obsessed with cleaning.” *cue pouty Tooru*
You probably shouldn’t tell him that you are an avid follower of the levi x reader tag on tumblr
Tooru still somehow finds out you’re also reading reader insert fanfic and goes BERSERK with his pouting and whining - literally everyone and their mothers have heard his sob story about how “his darling y/n is leaving me for a short germaphobic asshole”
The rest of the team finds it hilarious - the end up pranking him by posting pictures of Levi in his school locker or texting them in the volleyball groupchat (Oikawa is Suffering™)
Makki and Mattsun get him a Levi keychain for his birthday and cackle when he chucks it violently into the nearest trash can
Miya Atsumu
Doesn’t really know you’re into anime/gaming at first
I don’t think that’s on purpose - Atsumu just has such a one track mind when it comes to volleyball and he’s always busy with practice
so he just kinda doesn’t really give all the anime merch in your room a second glance even though it’s a dead giveaway
I bet Atsumu secretly watches some superhero anime - probably shounen stuff like My Hero Academia, one punch man etc.
He probably starts to notice you’re into anime/games because you’ll play games on your phone/gaming device all the time
One day he notices you’re giggling + blushing while looking at your screen. He’s curious to he heads over to you when coach says they can have a break
Peeks over your shoulder because he wants to know what you’re playing - but instead he’s greeted by some 2D samurai guy called Harada Sanosuke asking you to marry him
“Huh, I didn’t know you were into this kinda stuff y/n” tries to sound playful but internally he is screaming / ?????? WOT I DIDN’T KNOW MY S/O WAS INTO OTOME GAMES
Atsumus pretty chill about it at first, he probably teases you a lot about playing the game but isn’t really bugged about it
“Maybe you should thirst over your boyfriend instead of a fictional character babe~”
I mean - he knows he’s attractive and why be jealous? You only really play the game when he’s busy and you don’t really let the game play seep into your dates/hangouts
But one time he walks in on you reading some ~spicy~ hakuouki x reader fanfic and he’s like are u serious
Like you were lowkey quiet screaming to yourself and muttering “omg omg omg” when he walked in and you definitely tried to close your laptop so he couldn’t see what was open in your browser
Too bad Atsumu has mad reflexes and manages to prevent you from making your computer go to sleep
Briefly skims whatever it was that you were reading and smirks at you
“Hey, if you really want something like this, why don’t you let your real boyfriend deliver” before kissing you
Matsukawa Issei
Look, Issei just wants a chill movie/tv show night where the two of you can bundle up on the couch and binge whatever anime you feel like
Has everything set up - this man is ready to go: snacks? he has all of your favorites, couch? filled with soft pillows + multiple pillows. Attire? Comfy sweatpants shirtless 🥵
Last time he chose the series for your binge sleepover so he let you choose what the two of you were gonna watch this time
Turns out you decided to watch Psycho-Pass - it seemed like a pretty cool show, he was down with the whole dystopia/psychological concept
Starts out pretty normal, is appreciating the action + mystery elements and is glad that you chose that show
About halfway through the anime you two decide to take a break - he goes to the kitchen to refill your snacks, leaving to stretch you back.
When he comes back with more food, he notices that you’re hunched over your phone, typing something
He sneaks up behind you after he puts the food down, “Whatcha reading there babe?” You squeak and try to hide your phone, but not before he sees the words kougami x reader typed into your tumblr search bar
Lit-rally exCuSE me what - he’s not mad (more amused than anything else) but he also kind wants to tease you (bc Mattsun is a little shit)
“Is that the reason you wanted to watch this show?” he asks playfully. “He’s pretty hot tho, I kinda agree with you there babe.”
Now that he’s released the floodgate, he can’t stop your occasional comments like “omg how does he look so GOOD when he’s punching someone” or “he could shoot me with his dominator and i’d still say thank you”
The thirst comments are kinda getting to him, so he decides to take things in a different direction
“Let me what I can show you with my dominator~” L M A O I’M SORRY THIS EXISTS
Suddenly you’re being pulled onto his lap, and pressed against his bare chest, Issei barely gives you time to adjust before he’s kissing you roughly, tongue plunging into your mouth
His hands wrap around your hips pressing your core closer to his own, and you can feel his hard-on pressing into your stomach
He’ll be sure to suck a dark hickey onto the side of your neck and his hands travel under your shirt, just to remind you who your real boyfriend is
Needless to say, you won’t remember a single thing about the second half of the show after the night is over couch sex? Couch sex 😏
Since next week is finals week and I am suffering, maybe some college or grad school age Metis and Aura suffering together would be fun
I
HOPE YOU’RE DOING WELL AND I SEND YOU GOOD STUDYING AND WRITING VIBES you’ll
kill it :D
Did
they go to grad school together?  I’m
legit asking because I don’t know AND I WANT THEM TO HAVE so tysm for this.
-----
Maybe
getting her Master’s Degree was overrated.
Aura
must have thought that at least twenty times in the past few hours that she had
been stuck inside the robotics lab.  She
had an intense final project that she was trying to finish, and for some reason
she just kept running into problems that were making her life more and more
stressful.  Not to mention it was cutting
into her precious studying time; the advanced calculus final was in two days
and she wasn’t nearly prepared
enough.
She
yawned; there were no windows in her lab so she couldn’t see just how dark it
had gotten outside.  It was around 11:30
at night, but she still had so much to finish…
Another
ten minutes of attempts to work told her that her brain needed to be reset and
recharged; a coffee and maybe a snack break were much needed.  She grabbed her keys and bag, and only
remembered her phone as she was walking out the door.
Two
unread text messages.
First,
from her dorky little brother.  He had
sent her a picture of himself smiling with the caption of “good luck!”  She could tell her had on that ridiculous
bird t-shirt that she had gotten him for his last birthday, and smiled.  He was a good kid, really, and she loved him
more than she could really describe.  It
was just fun picking on him.
The
second…
Her
heart skipped a beat.
From
Metis Cykes.  A second-year PhD student
in the psychology department whom Aura had finally stopped denying she had a huge
crush on.
She
opened it.  You’re probably stuck in the lab, right?  If you need a break, I’ll be at my desk if
you want.
It
was sent over an hour ago; Aura always silenced her phone while working for
minimal distractions, a fact she cursed now.
What if Metis had left already?
She
began running towards the psychology building; sure, coffee was good for waking
up the brain, but the excitement of seeing Metis was even better for
alertness.  The exhaustion that she felt
moments ago vanished as she hoped Metis was still around.
When
she got to the graduate student offices, she walked in hesitantly; the doctoral
students shared offices, so multiple desks were around the room.  A few were occupied, and Aura knew not to
bother them, even as she scanned around for Metis, whom she spotted in a desk
towards the back, with her head down and headphones on.
Aura
slowly approached, forcing herself to steady her breathing as that familiar
nervousness settled in.  Sure, they were
friends, but Aura couldn’t help it; she would see Metis’ beautiful grey eyes
and her shiny brown hair and her knees would just go weak.
When
she got to Metis’ desk, she tapped on the young woman’s shoulder, not wanting
to startle her too much.  Metis looked up
and smiled, before removing her headphones.
Before Aura could say anything, Metis had her finger to her lips to
quiet her, and was getting up and packing her bag.  She indicated for Aura to follow her out of
the room, closing the door to the office behind her.
“No
one would be happy if we made too much noise,” Metis informed Aura.  Despite how Metis had bags under her eyes
from not sleeping and her hair was a bit disheveled, she was still stunning,
and Aura grinned.
“Yeah,
yeah, I know how you PhD guys are,” she responded.  “You’ve been in there all day, I presume?”
“Pretty
much.  I have three papers I need to
finish before the end of the week and a lot of exams to grade.  Not…looking forward to those.”  The undergraduate papers never really were
the greatest, and Metis was a notoriously difficult grader, from what Aura had
heard.
“Are
they multiple choice?  Maybe I could help
you out?”  Aura cursed herself for
offering; she had her own work to do!
Luckily though, Aura shook her head.
“Essays.  But I appreciate it…even though I know you’ve been busy too.  Maybe one day when we’re not both really
crazed…you can show me your lab?  I’m
kind of curious about your work if…you don’t mind showing me.”
“Of
course I don’t mind!”  Aura’s response
was a little too quick and a little too loud, and she blushed.  “Just…yeah, give me until next week?”
Metis
smiled and nodded, and if she had noticed Aura’s blushing face, made no
indication.  “Do you have time to get
coffee?  I’m really tired but don’t have
time to go to sleep just yet.”
“I
have all the time in the world for you, Metis.”
Studying
could wait.
My creepy stalker story
So I was at school and had a 5 hour gap between classes and wanted to go home but I have no car so I take the bus. It was noon and the bus drivers go on an hour-ish long lunch break around then. I met up with my roommate and walked downtown to grab some Starbucks with her before she had class so I could kill time. Was at Starbucks for like 20-30 min. Walked with her back towards campus, then parted ways and sat at the bus stop. The place where my bus picks up from is by this little corner at a parking garage where the handicap spots are so not too many people go there and it was the middle of the day and people were in class so no one was around except for one girl a ways away with headphones on. I sat down on a ledge and started to pull out my headphones when a man approached me. He said something along the lines of “Excuse me, I don’t mean to sound creepy but I saw you from across the street and just had to tell you that I think you are absolutely stunning”. I just did like a haha thanks weirdo, I’m not but cool bye type of laugh. He then goes “My name is ___________ whats yours?” and I’m like “My name is Lauren.....” and he goes “Well Lauren, maybe we could exchange numbers and hang out sometime? Maybe grab a cup of coffee? I would love to get to know you better”. And I was like “Hahah sorry, I have a boyfriend”. And he goes “Of course you do, you’re gorgeous. Well, maybe we could just be friends and still hangout”. And I just kinda nervously laughed and said maybe. He had started inching closer and closer to me, to the point where if I were to text or call someone for help or whatever he would have seen. It was at this point that I realized this guy was not about to go away. I did not want to upset him cause I had no idea if he would be violent or if he would do something bad so I felt like I just needed to go along with it but give no indication whatsoever that I was interested. Be cordial yet clearly distant. He asked if he could sit next to me and I was like uhhhhh sure. So he sat weirdly close to me and began to pry into my life, asking me what I’m doing in town, what school I go to, what my major is, where I work, how old I am, where I live, and I of course lied about it all cause why would I give him that info like it was dumb enough of me to give him my real name. He then went on to tell me that he was just graduating from community college and was getting a scholarship to my school to come play basketball and that he also knows lots of famous basketball players and also works at a hospital and also runs his own barbershop and just went on and on telling me more and more things that seemed really made up. He tried bragging that lots of girls try to get at him since he has a basketball scholarship and knows famous sports players and that he was just looking for someone real who he could have a meaningful relationship with. Kept hinting that I could be that girl. He was saying he was in his early twenties when in reality his face and his clothes looked like thirties. He also told me “Yeah, I was really nervous about approaching you” and I was like “Yeah that was a pretty bold move” and he was like “Well I saw you earlier with your friend with the colorful hair and did not want to come up to you when you were with her cause I did not want to interrupt, you were laughing and smiling and looked so pretty so I just waited till you left Starbucks and came back here alone”. HE LITERALLY STALKED ME FOR THE HALF HOUR THAT I WALKED TO STARBUCKS WITH MY FRIEND, SAT IN STARBUCKS AND ATE AND DRANK COFFEE, AND THEN WALKED BACK TO THE BUS STOP, ALL SO THAT HE COULD APPROACH ME WHEN I WAS ALONE. I told him that my friend would have called him crazy, hoping that he would realize how INSANE that was and leave but no he said “Wow, glad I waited then!” He sat with me there, asking more and more about me, even when I purposefully went silent and tried to come off as boring and awkward (as if I have to try to do that anyways) and he just kept at it. He did that for THIRTY WHOLE MINUTES until my bus came. At one point he even pulled a bug out of my hair cause I’m a gross-ass bitch and apparently things live in my hair but I was SO creeped out when he touched my hair. I even tried bragging about my boyfriend and talking about how the two of us met so that he would take the hint and go away but nope. I saw the bus pull up and was like oh thank god “Well it looks like my bus is here, sorry gotta go but it was nice meeting you” and he legit goes “Oh I’ll ride the bus with you!” and I was like “Uh are you sure?” and he was like “Yeah! I got to get home anyways” and I was like “Uhh where do you live” and he said he lived on the same street that I actually happen to live on and I was like well shit now he's coming on my bus fuckkkk. So he got on the bus, sat right next to me and trapped me in the window seat so like I had no way out unless he got up and left. While we were on the bus he kept saying how pretty my smile is and how badly he needs friends and kept trying to get my number over and over again. Finally he suggested he just give me his number and later if I choose to I can contact him. I just agreed so he could finally shut up about it. I got really worried that he was going to wait until I got off the bus and see where I live or even try to get off the bus with me and follow me home. Like I was full blown starring out the window, making as little eye contact as possible, clenching my phone and wallet and keys hoping that one of the now many people on the bus would see what was going on and how uncomfortable I was but nope. He continued to be creepy out loud, I continued to be scared shittless, and people just sat and minded their own business. Luckily he got off the bus before me and my street was around a couple corners so he couldn’t see where I got off at but I was so freaked out that I ran home and slammed my door and just stood in the kitchen hyperventilating for a good 20-30 min. I legitimately thought this man was going to try to rape or murder me or follow me home. I was very scarred and still am. What if I see him again? What if he sees me and continues to stalk me? What if he gets mad that I never contacted him and he tries to find and approach me? I am really freaked out and have contemplated reporting this to the police but in reality there is not much they can do. Anyways that is my creepy stalker story and please if you are still reading, leave me some advice on what to do cause I honestly don’t know.
