Me, half an hour ago: Hm. I'd like to give Daisy a surname for my 'verse! Maybe something Hindi-inspired, because Sarasaland is named after a sort of fabric originally imported from India, right? Lemme see…
Me now, fifteen tabs deep into the intricacies of caste and occupation and how they effect given and surnames in the Malayalam language: I have to get this right or God will smite me where I stand
the way the internet has responded to pavitr prabhakar is so. weird. either people are being mildly racist or making homophobic comments about him (???) by calling him a “twink” or “gay 💀” as an insult. even the more “progressive” side of the internet is guilty of this to some extent. but instead of outright insulting him, they go “omg hes gay 🥺 hes a silly little twink i love him sm 🥺🥺🥺” obviously theres nothing wrong with headcannoning a character as gay, but somehow i dont see the same energy with miles morales, or even gwen, which is a popular trans headcannon. the sole reason you consider pavitr a “twink” is because he doesnt abide by your western standards of masculinity.
being biracial between white and poc will always be so alienating for me I don't relate to anyone. I don't quite fit in with whites but I don't quite fit in with people of color. been more white passing than the rest of my family doesn't help
THANK YOUUUU i love violet evergarden so so much i can’t believe i’ve never had it for a theme…i actually did like my old theme but i was kind of itching for a change and a tik tok of “what disney princess are you” came on my fyp and i was like “omg that could be my new pfp”

Unironically, a huge chunk of the things I see people online claim are "cultural appropriation".
For example, I'm friends irl with a couple; one is Black, the other is Japanese. Wanna try and guess what they do together that I've seen people claim is "cultural appropriation"?
That's right! When they go to Japan, sometimes he will wear a Kimono because she likes when he tries to immerse himself in her culture; ya know, 'cause they're married! She does the same with his culture where she can.
And I've seen this with far more than just people I know in person. I see this fucking constantly, and it's genuinely grating, because, just like any buzz word, it waters down the original meaning.
The shear amount of people who could not even define Cultural Appropriation if you asked them to, but will cry that every single instance of people sharing culture is "cultural appropriation" is downright depressing.
"But a boy just can't wear a dress-" We don't have different drapping styles and garments like lungis, our kings did not wear those absolutely beautiful angrakhas and robes and kurtas, our traditional (& historical) clothing was not mostly gender fluid and some form of dresses or skirts regardless of who wears it FOR YOU TO SAY THINGS LIKE THIS SHEELA!!!!!
