i would say jacobs loyalty quest is a good mission. Its a tense and terrible story, a somewhat predictable premise for an adventure story conflict, but like. Thats the problem. Its a good *sidequest*, not a good loyalty quest. We dont learn much that is unique about Jacob here. He already had problems with his father, and already wasnt speaking to him. It is terrible and Jacob reacts correctly, but there isnt really conflict or change in him here, to me? The other loyalty missions have much more changing moments and are more personal. They tell us new things or elaborate on what we know. Maybe the mission is more intense if you kill his father? I dont know.
The closest it gets to intriguing is the scene with TIM and the Miranda reveal at the end. But the game refuses to actually go into depth with Miranda and Jacobs relationship. Which sucks. Imo

Calls you stink
“Jack, you know that’s not an endearing word, right?”
“Well, it’s endearing to me.”
Buys you matching sunglasses
Criticizing him for buying shades instead of prescriptions
“You literally cannot see, but you want to buy regular designer shades.”
“You gonna leave me and my bad eyes alone.”
Taking care of his hair
“I can’t believe you used Cantu”
“I didn’t know any better”
“Yeah well now you know, shame on you.”
Stealing his shirts/hoodies cause he’s huge
“Babe, have you seen my Kentucky sweatshirt?”
//is wearing it// “I have no clue where it is.”
Keeps a list on his notes app with all your orders from your favorite places to eat and drinks
Takes off your makeup when you're too tired to do it
Religiously FaceTimes you after every concert

Lays on your chest telling you about how good or bad the show
Rents out restaurants for the two of you to eat at in peace
Pays for your manicures & pedicures (if you’re into that)
“Let me see your nails..” “Oo~ these look good on you ma. I saw this design on Pinterest, you should totally get it” //whips out phone//
If he comes in from a rough day, he’d crawl up your body and go under your shirt and lay his head on your boobs
Is your personal weighted blanket
Has nightmares when he sleeps on his back, so he likes to lay on you
Definitely loves being the little spoon, in secret though
Sometimes has insecure moments
For example, if you’re watching or listening to someone who fits your type, he feels a little bit insecure about what you see in him

“Motherfuckers ain’t got nothing on me, couldn't even bag the best girl”
Is fiercely loyal to those he loves
Would go above and beyond to shower you with love and take care of you
Would buy you things just cus
“Jack, you don’t have to spoil me so much”
“Well, I want to so deal with it.”
Is important to him to provide for you and make it so you don’t have to work
Would sometimes bicker with you because you don’t want to feel dependent on him
“Jack, I can provide for myself, you don’t have to do everything for me.”
“I know but I want to. I want to give you the world.”
“But Jack, you’re my world”

“Did you seriously give me a mold of your dick?”
“Yeah, so you’ll have the real thing. Well, not the real thing, but a copy.”
Loves to spank your ass
Has left a bruise from where he’s slapped your ass in the same spot, multiple times
“Babe, pick a new spot, I’m bruising”
“But I like this spot” //smacks it again//
Asks you to send him nudes or lingerie pictures when he’s either at the studio a lot or away
“Damn ma, you got me bricked up in the hotel room right now. You wanna help me handle that?”
Phone Sex
Makes sure your nails are always done so you can leave scratches on his back
Would absolutely fuck you in the studio and then use the recording of your moans on a song
Loves your ass but also loves your titties
Would titty fuck you and cum on them
Is into cum play
Definitely has a breeding kink
“Well, we gotta make those eight daughters happen somehow.”
Size kink
“You look so small underneath of me ma”
He’s confident enough that he would love having toys in the bedroom
Would see them as his “best friends”
“They’re my allies, not my enemies”
Is down for some things, but would need some convincing
Could probably convince him with chicken wings and ranch
“Babe, I’ll buy you a big bucket of KFC and a whole bottle of ranch if you try this new position with me”
"I'm in"
Aftercare
Totally takes care of you. Like full care
Washes your body and allat
Offers you a massage
“You did so well for me mamas, let me get your shoulders. Are they hurting here?”
Is into bath bombs and shit
“Babe, this is rose scented. Oh! And it has little rose petals embedded”
Makes you drink herbal tea
“Oo~. See babe, this one relaxes your muscles”
Cuddles you and showers you with love and affection
“You’re such a pretty girl. You did so well for me.”
“You’re all mine, allmineallmineallmine.”
He sleeps soundly in your arms
It’s the best sleep he ever gets
Is forever in love with you and makes sure to remind you before you fall asleep
“I love you forever mamas”

I have no idea if you done Genocide Jack for that ask game or not
i have not, but better late than never! bonus toko as well bc why not
Sexuality Headcanon: obviously syo presents herself as a boy-liker and boy-killer, feels like she might be bi after her experiences with komaru, eventually settles on pan. toko insists that she's straight, but she's prob more bi than anything (once again, after the komaru thing). Gender Headcanon: toko rings off as cis female to me, syo probably doesn't give a shit especially when she goes by so many gendered names/nicknames in true crime circles that sticking to one is just too much effort. so agender/genderfluid on syo's part, probably? A ship I have with said character: syomaru and tokomaru, obviously. :'D admittedly i do enjoy syomaru a lil more than tokomaru, if mostly because i feel like they could've been showcased a bit more in UDG. that, and the shenanigan potential with syo and komaru is endless, i want silly casual antics with these two!! A BROTP I have with said character: i feel like syo and kotoko would be good friends, given the proper opportunity? i think she'd be a good guardian for kotoko! as for toko, i'm kinda growing to have a fondness for her and either aoi or sakura, if only toko would give either of them a chance, dangit!! A NOTP I have with said character: for the sake of both syo and toko, keep byakuya several leagues away from them. that being said, i do like syo fucking around with him just to piss him off. also people shipping syo and toko romantically is kinda weird, i don't like it A random headcanon: syo knows how to work with sheet metal and refuses to elaborate how or why. post-UDG, toko and komaru are attempting to collab on a novel together. key word being attempting. General Opinion over said character: even during the somethingawful LP days, i loved toko and syo and that love still holds strong even now. syo's a very fun character, but even beyond that, she adds some interesting facets to toko's character even if she wasn't exactly handled the best in her inception. as for toko, i'm probably one of the few people who did like her even before UDG; comedic assholes are my weakness. i do agree toko felt like she wasn't really fully utilized in DR1's main story though, so it's nice she got some expansion in UDG, as well as a genuine friend. ;o;
obviously there's people more qualified than i am in talking about them (esp in regards to their histories, their arc in UDG, and the whole DID thing), but i can still appreciate syo and toko as characters even if i can't articulate all the more complicated stuff regarding them.
also i REALLY enjoy seeing fun and fluffy stuff with syo, and your animations are a fantastic example of that! yandere/yangire stuff is kinda overplayed, so it's really nice seeing silly stuff with the silly serial killer!

Doctor Sleep (2019)
Tumblr media
Doctor Sleep is a sequel to The Shining 40+ years in the making. Taking its cues from the follow-up novel by Stephen King and the Stanley Kubrick classic, it’s a different but robust sequel nonetheless. Rather than try and recreate what worked about the first film (an impossible task, the 1977 horror classic is a one-in-a-million kind of movie), it tells its own story while paying homage to its predecessor and giving the fans what they want to see. Yes, it’s long at 152 but there’s an even longer director’s cut I’d love to visit sometime.
31 years after escaping the Overlook Hotel, Dan "Danny" Torrance (Ewan McGregor) is haunted by childhood trauma and struggles with alcoholism. When a young telepathic girl named Abra Stone (Kyliegh Curran) reaches out to warn him of a group who “Shine” and feed upon people with psychic abilities, he chooses to work with her to stop them.
Unlike The Shining, Doctor Sleep isn’t a horror movie. It’s more of a drama/thriller, with action-y bits coming in the later half and some horror sprinkled on top. For a good chunk of the story, we’re following a traumatized, ruined Danny Torrance trying his best to hold at bay the lingering ghosts of the Overlook Hotel while getting over his addiction, finding his place in the world and befriending Abra. There’s a lot of great material as Danny talks to his AA group about the way he relates to his father more than ever now that he is also a prisoner of the “demon in a bottle”. The way he and Abra’s childhoods differ make for great character-based moments.
And then come Rose the Hat (Rebecca Ferguson) and the members of the True Knot cult. If there’s one area where the film bites off more than it can chew, it’s with the villains. There are too many of them and several wind up being nothing more than generic baddies but otherwise, they’re the kind of villains you love to hate. As Rose the Hat puts it, the “steam” they steal from other shiners tastes best when the victim is young, terrified and in pain. If seeing kids die is something you can’t handle, know that writer/director Mike Flanagan has no mercy regardless of his characters' age.
The members of the True Knot gang who are fleshed out make for great, complex characters. One of the best examples is Snakebite Andi (Emily Alyn Lind). Under normal circumstances, she would be heroic but when she joins a group of psychic vampires who prey on children just so they can expand their lifespans… the support your initially support for her evaporates. These vampires act high and mighty but when it comes down to it, they’re just as prone to petty emotions as the rest of us, which makes every victory Dan and Abra score feel extra good.
So far, none of this sounds anything like The Shining. Psychic vampires? That’s far removed from a haunted hotel. You’re right, but Doctor Sleep makes it fit. It isn’t merely people that can shine; it’s the dead - such as the ghost from Room 237 - and places - like the Overlook - too. What we thought was a haunted building is actually much more and if that makes you wish we could get just one more look at that iconic location, the film obliges. This is where it feels most fanboy-ish, as we get pretty much every single prop and shot recreated: the blood flowing from the elevator, the twins, the tricycle down those corridors with the weird carpet, etc. Before we start docking points, however. I’d like to see anyone who didn’t want - even a little bit - to see the Overlook again. That's what I thought.
What makes these references and recreations work is how well they’re done. We see Dan confront Lloyd (Henry Thomas), who says he’s merely the Overlook's bartender but looks strikingly like Jack Nicholson. It isn’t an exact match (obviously) but even this inconsistency works. It’s a twisted memory, a ghost held captive by the Overlook looking to use a familiar image against the now grown boy who narrowly escaped its clutches years ago. The resemblance is so uncanny and the flashback and callback scenes so well done (Alex Essoe does a spot-on impersonation of Shelley Duvall) they don’t feel self-indulgent.
While we didn’t need Doctor Sleep, Stephen King felt the characters were worth returning to. Based on this effort, it’s hard to disagree. This sequel is telling its own story AND giving us more of what we enjoyed before. The performances are strong, the characters compelling and the callbacks are so well done that it makes the overlong running time feel… merely long. (December 17, 2021)

Would Hizashi be a good Homeroom teacher?
Critics of Aizawa have stated that Hizashi would be a better teacher than him, and it got me thinking. What would Hizashi be like as a homeroom teacher? Well, I thought about it and compiled my thoughts in a nonsense post.
Keep in mind, that everything below is just MY thoughts and opinions. And though I’ve done my best to study Mic, there’s not a lot in canon to work with, so everything is YMMV. I will be explaining my reasoning for everything I say, though.
Okay, so what would make Hizashi good for the role?
For one, his voice quirk would allow him to keep the class under control, as he’s hard to ignore. He’s very intelligent which would help with the paperwork, and he’s just a hard worker.
However, the main that would make Mic a great homeroom teacher is that—unlike his naive, but well-meaning colleagues—Hizashi has emotional intelligence.
The others have some level of this, but their emotional knowledge is clouded by other factors, and they’re usually unable to put their personal feelings aside. An example of this is when the traitor was revealed;
Mic was the ONLY person there willing to set his personal feelings aside to deal with a very dangerous problem. He only stopped pushing because he knew no one would take his side.
Getting back on topic, this would allow Hizashi to handle his students as he would know when to coddle them—like when Momo had her confidence busted—and when to kick someone’s fragile ego to help them learn a few things, such as Bakagou and his attitude problem.
Present Mic is also very willing to interact with the students one on one, allowing him to help them out more. (Not that Aizawa wasn’t willing. He just isn’t one to make the first move which leads to issues here and there.)
I especially think Mic would have been able to help Izuku, Tenya, and Bakagou.
With Tenya, Mic would have pulled Tenya aside after hearing his brother’s attack and would have talked to him about it. Hizashi understands what Tenya is going through because he’s been there. Hizashi saw Oboro’s corpse. He can understand Tenya’s anger and grief. And there’s no way he wouldn’t have reached out because that’s what he always does. When someone is sad (All Might or Aizawa) Mic reaches out and offers an ear. They don’t always accept, and he respects that but lets them know subtly that he’s there. Mic may not have helped enough to dissuade Tenya from pursuing Stain, but the attempt would be made. (Plus, I believe he would have called Manuel to update him on the situation.) He’d also be better at teaching Tenya to relax a bit more and not be so serious all the time.
With Bakagou his relationship would be—rough, but Mic would still be good for the firebomb. First, there’s no way that Hizashi wouldn’t have checked in on Bakagou’s mental state after a kidnapping. But he also would have been good to help with two of Bakagou’s main flaws that others rarely address; his arrogance and recklessness.
This is because in his youth Mic was nice, but also a jack of trades which made him overconfident in his abilities. However, this was something that—from his POV—cost others their lives. Because of this, I think this would make Mic more willing than others All Might to toughen up that “fragile ego” of Bakagou’s. Plus, he actually might have stepped up and done something about his conflict with Izuku.
Okay, I did an entire post on how Mic HATES conflict and avoids it at all costs. However, in that same post, I stated that all goes out the window when people he cares for are being hurt. So, I have no doubt Hizashi man up and do what he needed to do. (Hell, he may have actually done something.) It’s shown he dislikes bullies and is very protective of others, so it’s not out of the question that he would have pulled Bakagou aside after the first battle match and had a one-on-one talk, letting him know that wouldn’t stand.
That being said, Mic may have done a touch more harm as he would poke at Bakagou’s insecurities, which may have made Bakagou lash out even worse. (More on this later.) He also would have put the two together for the finals, just like Aizawa did as he’d want to test Bakagou’s self-control and Izuku’s ability to stand up for himself.
Speaking of which, let’s talk about our sweet broccoli. Mic would be able to help him simply because he would actually talk to Izuku AND All Might about things.
See, Mic knows the power of communication. He does it all the time. Therefore, he and All Might--who’s the teaching assistant?--would always be on the same page, something Aizawa and All Might are very much not. Unlike Aizawa, who was too insecure to question All Might, Hizashi would call All Might out very bluntly. “Hey, you said you were teaching Deku, right? Why are his bones still shattering? What methods are you using to teach?” Aizawa never pushed to know anything for personal reasons, and so he didn’t know anything about Izuku. Mic would push because a) he’s pushy, and b) Izuku would literally be injuring himself all the time and Mic would want to stop that. (I don’t think he’d be in on the OFA secret, but All Might would be on his toes all the time.)
With Izuku, Hizashi would be able to help Izuku with his insecurity as Mic has deep insecurities of his own. And if there’s one thing Mic is excellent at it’s being a hype man, so that would have helped with Izuku’s confidence if even a little bit. (Koda’s too!) Plus, I believe Mic would have directly asked about Bakagou’s issue with him (delicacy isn’t Mic’s strong point). Since Izuku tells everyone who asks—All Might, Uraraka, Tenya, etc.--Mic would know the deal right away. I’m not 100% sure what he’d do, but I think he’d help in subtle ways so as not to embarrass Izuku, or hurt his pride. (A lot of fix-it fics have it that Izuku tells a teacher, and they handle it, however, no one ever brings up how actions like that are embarrassing to the student, especially when they’re over the age of ten. That’s one of the reasons in the real world teens don’t go to teachers. They’re young, but they have pride too. Izuku tells others because he wants to vent, but at the end of the day he wants to handle Bakagou on his terms.) Mic would understand this and has demonstrated in canon that he could help without being obvious.
Other small things, Present Mic is very observant so he’d be able to pick up on his students' strengths and weaknesses. His bluntness may come off as harsh, but in a way, it would be helpful too as he knows to curb his words enough not to dissuade the kids, but is sharp enough to keep them on their toes.
Hizashi would also be a good contrast to all his students and All Might as they’re all naive as heck. They all have a clear black and white view, but Mic knows it’s much more complicated than that. He understands the stakes better than anyone and wouldn’t blindly forgive.
This may be one of his flaws.
Spoilers, but I’m not sure how Mic would react to Aoyama being the traitor. On one hand, this is a precious student whom Hizashi has grown attached to. On the other hand, his actions placed his other students, and friends, in danger. And Mic—as loving as is—isn’t very forgiving of anyone hurting his loved ones. It would especially hurt because they were hurt by someone they and he trusted. Even understanding the situation, it would be hard.
In the end, I don’t think he’d forgive Aoyama, but at the same time—due to the situation—he wouldn’t just abandon him. Like, “I’m mad and I don’t forgive you, but even so, I’ll help you to redeem yourself.”
Speaking of flaws, what else works against him?
Externally, Hizashi already has a full-time job as a radio DJ and Hero, both professions that call him out to host events. As an English teacher Mic shows up for several classes and grades papers, but then he can rest, or do the other things he needs to do. As a homeroom teacher, he couldn’t do that, especially after everyone moved to the dorms.
Internally, I think Mic is a bit too passive. To keep the students in line (especially ones like Bakagou) Mic would have to be able to pull them aside and scold them properly. As stated, Hizashi would if he had to, but I’m not sure how long he’d wait to do so. Plus, he’d have to deal with parents and other factors. Mic likes to keep his life as peaceful as he can and won’t stir things up if he doesn’t have to.
Plus, Mic is the type to pick favorites and makes no qualms about those he doesn’t like, which may isolate students. To be fair though, if Mic had more one-on-one with all his students, I’d have no doubt that while he’d love them differently, he would love them the same. (In canon, he doesn’t have much interaction with the students outside of class. As such, Hizashi doesn’t really know any of the students outside of tournaments and such, so it’s easier to choose favorites as he’s a spectator.)
He’s also the type to poke at wounds and may unintentionally poke too hard at people, causing them to lash out too harshly.
And to anyone thinking Mic wouldn’t be as strict as Aizawa, hahaha—no. If anything I’d say with full confidence he’d be tougher than Aizawa. Mic may come off as easygoing, but I have no doubt he’d run his kids through the wringer while laughing all the way. (I have nothing to back this up, but no doubt either.)
And finally, while his quirk is a boon, it can also work against him. If the students get out of control, the only way Mic can stop them is to hurt them.
In summary;
Things that would make Hizashi a good teacher;
*His emotional intelligence
*His communication skills
*His observation skills
*The fact that he tends to get involved with others without prompting
*His bluntness
*The fact that he can respect emotions, but knows when to call others out
*His Quirk
*Would be more involved
Things that would make Hizashi a bad teacher;
*Busy life schedule
*Passive / Hates conflict
*Too blunt
*May push on some wounds without meaning too
*Unforgiving
*His quirk may make it hard to teach his students and if they get out of control, the only way to stop them is to hurt them.
*Would be way tougher than Aizawa
In conclusion;
Personally, I like the roles as is, though I wish we saw Aizawa spending more time with his class and actually interacting.
Mic works really, really hard and the job of being a homeroom teacher would be too taxing, emotionally and physically. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’d be a bad teacher, far from it. Rather I think he’d be great. But the man needs—and wants--to take it easy. He wants to keep what he can light and doesn’t like taking on more trouble than he has to.
That being said, it would be cute to see him being a fun dad to Class 1-A.

Hve you watched the mario movie yet? 👀 Thoughts?
YES I HAVE AND IT'S AMAZING!!!!!!
For starters, this film is visually STUNNING. I also adore all the musical references scattered throughout the film score. I love how some parts are just thematic medleys, but other sections have a single motif worked into the film score. It's a cool way to breathe new life into some familiar themes like Bob-Omb Battlefield, for example. When we're not being flooded with musical references from the games, I like how the rest of the score is padded out with 80's music. Some people may not like that, but I do. I was raised on classic rock thanks to my parents, and putting 80's music in the film makes sense, since the series got its start in the 80's!
Now let's move on to the characters. OH MY GOD. The way their personalities were so fleshed out was incredible. Mario and Luigi's wholesome twin sibling bond was everything I envisioned it to be. I was also very pleasantly surprised by how Peach and Toad's characters were handled. Peach's personality, to me, could best be described as a fusion of Diana from the first "Wonder Woman" film (a girlboss who is still unfailingly kind and protective) and Ariel from "The Little Mermaid" (an ever-curious princess who is super curious about humans and wanting to learn more about their world and way of life). Toad was amazing because the writers could have exploited his character as this little guy who was hungry for adventure but ended up as the incompetent comic relief...but that didn't happen. They played up Toad's capability and loyalty to Peach and Mario super well, and it showcases great acting range on Keegan-Michael Key's part.
Speaking of actors, HOLY SHIT. I couldn't hear any of the actor's regular voices at ALL in the characters they played. I thought I'd have a massive problem with Chris Pratt as Mario, but that ended up not being the case. Jack Black also did an incredible job voicing Bowser. Probably the only time I heard Jack Black and not Bowser was during his "Peaches" song, but I don't mind that. Bowser has been known to have some goofy moments and dialogue before in the "Mario and Luigi" and "Paper Mario" games, so it's easy to let slide. If anything, Donkey Kong was the only character whose voice I had issues with. It was just Seth Rogen being Seth Rogen, typecast once again as a comic dudebro who gets knocked down a peg at some point to learn a little about humility.
Slight aside, by the way, I also like how Bowser is animated when he's angry. When he's angry in the film, you can literally see the insanity in his eyes. It's a fantastic little touch that the games don't normally have. (Yeah, he's full of rage, but his eyes don't show it anywhere near as well.)
Probably the only real issue I had was with the film's pacing. Just when we think we're going somewhere interesting in a scene, all of a sudden we're immediately transported elsewhere. The transitions are kind of jarring and I feel like a lot loose ends in the previous scenes aren't tied up properly. Hopefully the sequel will fix that. (And let's be real. There WILL be a sequel with how much money this film is making. This film is sooooo much more successful than that 1993 monstrosity lmao)
Overall, VERY solid film and a job very well done. 4 out of 5 (Super) Stars from me 🌟🌟🌟🌟

TOOLS THAT GET YOUR CAR UNSTUCK IN ANY SITUATION
Since the invention of vehicles, people have always thought of going faster, farther, and longer to enjoy adventures. But, all the planning comes to a stop when the point comes to how far your vehicle will go?
Have you ever experienced being stuck in the middle of a highway or deserted area and thought, “I can drive through it”. Your car could go without getting into any major problem and you would be fine too. Right?
But, sadly that’s wrong! This is why most people get stuck easily in mud and sand. Whether you do off-roading in mountain areas, hill areas, or not, all of us will eventually find ourselves getting stuck, no matter how careful we are on the road.
As, whenever a vehicle is put through harsh driving conditions, it shows its true strength and age. However, even a well-maintained vehicle can’t handle mud and sand easily. So, don’t underestimate the power of these situations because you never know when or how your vehicle gets unstuck.
The best way to prevent this potentially dangerous situation is to always be prepared for it. If you are driving and find your vehicle gets stuck, then keep reading this blog. Any Car Towing has shared some essential tool lists and methods that can keep you moving.
SHOVEL – EFFECTIVE DIG METHOD
Yes, Exactly! With the help of a shovel, you can dig yourself out of a hole. Digging is quite self-explanatory, but is a very effective method. To do this, grab a shovel, and clear as much mud/and as you can from around the vehicle tyres.
Any item including your hands that can dig is the most useful tool for getting your car unstuck. But, no doubt the shovel will get the job done quickly. When all of your car tires get stuck, you would feel grateful to bring a shovel with you.
Some people prefer to carry a foldable shovel. However, it is always better to use a D-handle as it is the least back-breaking option. But, if you have limited space, you can use a foldable shovel or cut the handle on a regular shovel to fit it into your car.
BUILD TRACTION WITH CARPET, WOOD, AND CARDBOARD
After you’ve shoveled out the front of your tire, you will need something to hold onto, otherwise, you may get stuck again. The process is simple. Put something solid in front of the tire, and crawl out slowly.
For this, a small tool or object can be very beneficial for us. You can place a piece of carpet, wood, cardboard, or any other object. The purpose of doing this is to gain some traction to keep your wheels from spinning. Once you put any of these objects, then accelerate slowly so that the tires can grip.
Note: Molded plastic recovery tracks provide great benefits over a carpet or wood solution. Because, they won’t sink or slide under a tire, and can also be used as shovels.
HI-LIFT JACK CAR UNSTUCK METHOD
People who love to drive off-road would probably be aware of this tool. In case, if your off-road vehicle tyres sit a lot higher off the ground, then the factory tire jacks won’t help you. This is where using a hi-lift jack can be helpful for you.
You can use a hi-lift to lift a stuck tire, then secure it by placing a cardboard or Maxtrax underneath it.
Another use of hi-lift jack is that they can also be used as a come-along winch. The process can be made simpler with an off-road winch accessory kit.
The method of doing the process is:
First, attach a chain or tow strap to the part that moves up and down and attach the other end to a solid object; like a tree.
Then, connect the plate end of the jack to the frame or tow hook of your vehicle.
When you pump, it will feel as though you’re lowering the jack and you can pull your vehicle out of a hole.
TOW STRAP RECOVERY METHOD
If you plan to go off-roading, then you should carry a tow strap with you as it is super useful. Having it will become helpful for other drivers too to help you out during your off-road journey.
For example; a tow strap can be useful for you by attaching it to another vehicle when your car gets unstuck.
Note: Don’t utilize tow straps with hooks. Moreover, don’t attach tow straps to the car body or bumper, or else, you would end up damaging your vehicle. Always, connect it between frames to avoid serious damage.

❞700 Follower special~!❝
ლ  Tea order: Everyone: Falling in love & confessing
ლ  Warnings: None!
ლ Tea shop notes:   Ahhh i’m so sorry for not posting anything in a really long time. APChem is biting me in the butt, I hope you all understand and I can make it up with y'all. THANK YOU ALL FOR 700+ FOLLOWERS ꒰♡ˊ͈ ु꒳ ूˋ͈꒱.⑅*♡ I appreciate all of you so much and I can’t wait to share all these lovely orders to all!
Tumblr media
Ace:
Ace falling in love is super cheesy, he would stare at you from afar and would always get blushy when he gets caught. One day he was watching you take care of the rose garden with him and you happened to look up meeting his eyes. He got embarrassed and kept tending to the garden.
It’s very fast when he realizes he’s in love, it happens like he’s just laying on his bed late at night and oh crap (y/n) keeps popping into his mind. Reflecting more on those thoughts he gets the realization that he’s in love.
He would immediately tell Grim and Deuce about this and they would be teasing him about it. Poor boy he’s just a blushing mess he doesn’t know what to do. He may consult his brother about it and of course being the younger sibling he would be teased about it not just from his brother but from his family as well.
Deuce:
This poor boy doesn’t know what to do with feelings. No one ever liked him back in Middle school and romance type of movies wasn’t his cup of tea so having to understand his own feelings is hard.
He may ask Trey about this since Trey just radiates Big Brother/ Mother energy. Trey would try his best but at the end all Trey said was “You have to express your feelings in your own way. If you allow someone else to express your feelings for you then it’s no longer your own feelings it’s that person's feelings”
That really resonated with Deuce and he took things into his own hands. He looked up on the internet on how to work his feelings out and confess. If all comes to fail there are always two people he can always ask.
His mother and Grandma were ecstatic to hear that Deuce started to like someone and would gladly help him with his feelings and how to confess.
Riddle:
Riddle isn’t used to feelings; his own mother denounces his own feelings and he doesn’t know how to control his feelings (sniff sniff him overblotting). So when feelings of love started to creep in he was very confused. Ew what is this feeling???? Go away….
Cater would be the first person he might go to about this strange feeling. Cater was a little confused on how Riddle was describing his feelings. That was until Trey overheard and told Riddle that those are feelings of love. Love? What is love? Riddle doesn’t know what love is or how to deal with love.
Oh boy there were sparkles in Cater’s eyes as he set Riddle down in the heartslabyul lounge and pulled out his phone and typed in some websites. Trey came in seeing Cater getting all excited showing Riddle how to swoon over this said person. Trey just shook his head with a small smile and properly told Riddle how to 1 handle his feelings and 2 how to confess his feelings.
Ace and Deuce would be watching over the corner trying to see what the commotion is. Ace and Deuce would put their two senses in but it's just really corny and cheesy romance stuff they saw in a movie once.
Trey:
Trey and his feelings are pretty much two different people. Trey himself is someone who is kind and caring while his feelings are all over the place. It was just one night where he was laying in his bed and oh crap his feelings crept when he started to think about you. Ah so this is what love feels like?
Trey would go on his day like nothing was wrong but soon all he can think about is you. Cater would notice this change as well and will tease the crap out of Trey over this. Trey would just brush off Cater while trying to handle his feelings. Riddle overheard all of this and would try to help his childhood friend but would fail miserably since he has no idea what love is, and that’s okay!
Soon it was too much to where Trey would straight up go to you and confess. No more thinking, just love.
Cater:
Cater was just scrolling through magicam when he noticed that you posted something. Immediately Cater liked and commented on how cute you looked! Of course this was nothing at first but after stalking your magicam profile for a bit it hit him like a magicshift disk that he was falling in love.
But what should he do? Easy, just flirt your way till you feel confident enough to confess. He may ask Trey a favor or two to help him in his feelings but Trey would give the same advice he gives to everyone when asked about feelings.
Cater may text his sisters and ask about it but that may just turn into a no since his sisters would just tease him to oblivion, and he would never hear the end of it. So sisters are out of the picture and the family is also out of the picture since his parents would just tell his sister about it.
So all and all Cater is on his own and honestly he got this.
Tumblr media
Leona:
Leona never really dwells into his own feelings of love. It’s kind of like “oh it’s there cool” he’s very much someone who doesn’t show any special treatment to someone they like. Only on rare occasions were he would give you some special treatment. Like demand for naps from you as he quotes “you are the only one who isn’t annoying”
Ruggie might catch on what Leona is doing and would lightly tease him but would back off when Leona would threaten him.
If he’s really “bored” he would just straight up tell you and would just kind of go “Oy herbivor are you free this weekend, good meet me at the lounge at 7” that’s it just straight up say “go on a date with me” and be done with it.
Ruggie:
Ruggie really doesn’t have time to dwell on love and relationships as 1) he’s busy with his dorm and taking care of Leona 2) he has family back home to take care so thinking on feelings of love isn’t something he thinks often.
But one day it just hits him like a magic shift disk and now he has these feelings for you. He would try to ignore it but sometimes it would be just too much for him and he just has to deal with it. Even when doing basic vice dorm head duties all he can think is you and you only.
Ruggie would absolutely not talk to Leona about it since Leona would just fall asleep on him. Jack on the other hand is a better choice, since Jack may know a thing or two coming from a very loving family. Jack would give some advice or two but can’t really help Ruggie in any way.
So it’s just up to Ruggie and Jack’s advice to get these lovey dovey feelings out there and to you.
Jack:
Jack is someone who has no idea what he’s doing and would go straight to his family for help. His younger siblings would give him advice but the advice are just straight up “tell her how you feel and give her this! (hands over a juice box)” His parents on the other hand would tell how they confess to each other and see if that helps him in any way.
He may also ask Ruggie since Ruggie just radiates big brother energy, and Ruggie would just give examples he saw back home and how he would do it. It wasn’t much help but any help is welcome for Jack.
Jack would probably keep his feelings in for so long till it’s too much and he does what his parents do when they confess to each other. Simple, sweet, and sincere.
Tumblr media
Azul:
It hits Azul so hard that he would be stuck in this cycle of “I don’t like (y/n), Oh gosh I like (y/n), no I love (y/n)” it’s very “fun” to see for Jade and Floyd seeing Azul go through this cycle of I don’t like them but I love them.
Azul would be so awkward and not know what to do and needs help. The twins are out of the picture because they wouldn’t even help him unless they get something in return. The other Dorm heads wouldn’t really care except probably Riddle and Idia. Idia! He reads so much magna and watches so much anime he should definitely know how to confess to someone. When told this Idia’s eyes lit up as he ran to his manga shelf and pulled like over 20 manga books and set them down in front of Azul. Idia would show Azul his favorite confession scenes and help Azul craft the perfect confession. I don’t think Idia did this because he wants Azul to be happy. I think he did this so he can talk about his favorite manga and anime without someone thinking it’s weird.
After all that Azul would have a perfect confession planned out and just have to execute it without embarrassing himself. Which will be hard….
Jade:
Jade would completely ignore his feelings of love till it consumes him. He has an image he has to uphold and breaking it could mean not business for the mostro lounge. But once the feelings consume him he would really have to deal with it.
Even though he has his twin brother and his childhood friend he could go to he wouldn’t do it. Why? Well 1) Floyd would not take it seriously and think of it as a game while 2) Azul would take this as an opportunity to make a contract with Jade. So who could he ask for help? Well maybe other vice dorm heads who he considered a “friend” and that would just be Trey. Trey told Jade the same thing he tells his fellow dorm mates “You have to express your feelings in your own way. If you allow someone else to express your feelings for you then it’s no longer your own feelings it’s that person's feelings” That helped Jade so much. No more asking for help he would just have to do it on his own.
He would most likely build a really cute terrarium for you and confess in a really sweet but lowkey scary way.
Floyd:
Floyd would have mixed feelings about everything. Love? Bleegh too many “feelings” , but if he ever gets that feeling of love he would be so confused and disgusted. Like “ew what is this feeling? It’s like nice but weird”
He would immediately go to Jade and Azul for help, Jade would make Azul promise not to form contracts over this and Azul agress. After all that “no contracts to Floyd, Azul '' they would give him the most honest answer and tell him the most popular way to confess and how to do it. There was a lot of training and preparation for this moment and once Floyd feels comfortable he would put it into action.
His confession is fiery and passionate and showed another side of floyd no one other than Jade and Azul has ever seen.
Tumblr media
Kalim:
Kalim is so love struck when he catches feelings. All he talks about is “(y/n) this (y/n) that” to the point where it’s annoying but sweet.
He would immediately ask Jamil for help and Jamil would reluctantly agree. Kalim and Jamil would form a perfect way of confessing to you and Kalim would pretty much get his whole dorm involved. After getting so much hyped from his own dorm he’s bouncing with excitement really excited to see your reaction to all of this.
It was a grand parade in your honor and Kalim would go the extra mile to make it so memorable when he confessed. Poor Jamil would have to make sure Kalim didn’t hurt himself anywhere as he was dancing between legs of elephants and dancing with the peacocks.
Jamil:
Jamil is already really busy with Scarabia and Kalim to focus on himself and his personal feelings. It was one night where he finally got a chance to relax where he reflexes on his feelings. Realizing most of the thoughts was about you, confused Jamil would go more and more on this thought and a crush and feelings for you developed.
Jamil would absolutely not ask Kalim for help because as soon as Kalim hears about it he would tell the whole world. Which Jamil did not want AT ALL, so he’s going solo on this. He would scan through the internet on ways to confess and one of them is cook/bake their favorite food.
So that’s what he did, he confessed to you through food. A simple and sweet gesture that would definitely win anyone's heart because 1) it’s Jamil’s cooking and 2) it’s jamil.
Tumblr media
Vil:
Being a model and Magicam influence means being in a relationship is pretty much out of the question as you may get “distracted” and work to your full potential. That’s what at least Vil told himself a few months ago but look where we are. Our magicam influencer has caught feelings for a simple person who he thought “wasn’t worth his time”
He would demand Rook and Epel to help him get rid of these “feelings” so he can go back to work. Rook would be over the moon to help while Epel would be a little reluctant but really excited to help since this is tea that he couldn’t experience back home.  They would help with a very extravagant confession at the most romantic spot in the dorm (Pomefiore is prepared for anything romantic wise)
Although Rook and Epel planned this extravagant confession, Vil went to a very sweet yet simple confession. Holding your hands and spill out of his feelings for you hoping you reciprocate his feelings.
Rook:
Rook and love go hand in hand, he would be so distracted from his vice dorm head duties and would pretty much focus on you. This would annoy Vil so much because how is he supposed to rule his dorm without his trusty and “loyal” advisor.
Vil would order Epel to help Rook with his problem so he can get back to vice dorm head duties. Which Epel of course reluctantly agrees to but secretly Epel was really excited. Rook would think of a million ideas to confess to you which Epel would have to get Rook to narrow it down since you can only confess once before it becomes bleh. But Rook wasn’t listening so Epel just had to get Vil to get rook to narrow his ideas to maybe one or two. Which Rook agreed since it is Vil and he’s pretty much a simp for Vil.
Rook’s confession is very sweet and romantic like straight out of a movie and would be something that the main character would get. Rook really made you feel like the main character.
Epel:
Epel believes having a “Crush” isn’t manly till he gets one. Oh boy this boy can’t talk straight to you without stuttering or blushing. Vil and Rook would see this and swoop in to “help” Epel in his situation.
Rook and Vil would come up with different ways ranging from a way that a girl would confess, to a mainly hunter-ish way to confess to someone. It was overwhelming to say the least and Epel still had no idea what to do. Epel would also ask his friends but gets nothing since Ace isn’t really a lady’s man, Deuce never had anyone like him before, Jack is intimidating so no one really talks to him, and Sebek is… well Sebek. After everything fails Epel just listens to Jack and does what Jack advises.
And that confession was so sweet and cute that it would melt anyone’s heart. He’s so cute and the blush on his face is so cute.
Tumblr media
Idia:
Idia never goes out often so catching feelings is hard, and yet he still got them. It’s super weird but he doesn't ignore those feelings.
He would call Ortho and Azul to his room for help, azul advice sounded like a business deal and that’s an absolute no no for Idia the last thing Idia needed to remember is his family business. Ortho’s advice made more sense, you watched a lot of manga and anime why don’t you use those for reference. Idia loved that idea so much that his confession was pulled straight from the manga itself.
When Idia confessed it was so awkward he couldn’t do it the first time and chicken out. After being pushed back to do it again by the octavinelle trio he would confess again and this time he would succeed. His confession was pulled straight from the manga and is super cheesy yet sweet and loving.
Tumblr media
Sebek:
Sebek wanting to be the best servant to Malleus would lock up his feelings and not let them consume him. Yet somehow you were like the prince in sleeping beauty and got through the spiked vines.
Sebek would immediately ask lilia and his friends for help because this poor boy has no idea what he is doing. Lilia would give the most cheesiest way to confess to someone but hey it’s better than nothing, Malleus has no idea what love really is so he can’t help and Silver is well… asleep as usual. So once Diasomnia isn’t going to help him he would go to his friends which shocked them since when did Sebek have feelings for anyone other than Malleus?! But they would gladly help, as proven before that the 1st year squad have no idea what their doing this shows even more prominent. Like they would try to think how Sebek can confess but in a “Sebek way” if he knows what that even means. Soon he would get just too frustrated and just do it on his own.
His confession is awkward and simple, but it did get the message through and it was a surprise to see another side of Sebek that no one else has ever seen. Oh and don’t forget all the letters that you have collected due to Sebek sending you so many letters.
Silver:
Silver is someone who would conceal his feelings really well, he wouldn’t tell anyone till he actually needed help.
And when that time came he would ask his father for help, but Lilia’s tips weren’t really “relavent” to the time. Malleus would over hear this and sit to listen as well, mid way of lilia telling him all the possibilities to confess Silver just went zzZ. Malleus would notice this but not Lilia, so being the good dorm head he wants to be he would write down what lilia was saying and hand it to Silver later. When Silver woke up he saw a note next to him was a step by step instruction on how to confess the “Valley of thorns” way.
Which is exactly what he did since it is his home and if the heir to the throne says so then he shall put it into action. Yes as you may think it was very cheesy and old timey but it was very adorable to see Silver confess.
Lilia:
Ahh yes the old man himself after living through 1,000’s of years he would know a thing or two about love right? Yeah outdated love, like all of that was years and years ago some of those confessing techniques are now considered cheesy.
Since everyone considered the old confession cheesy Lilia had to go to someone who would know how to confess to someone the “modern” and “hip” way. That someone was Cater, always glued to his phone he would most likely know a thing or two. Luckily for Lilia he did! Cater would pull up all the new and trendy ways to confess to someone which gave Lilia so many ideas that he crafted the most perfect yet trendy way to confess to someone. All he had to do is put it into action.
His confession was exactly how Cater told him to do it. It was very extravagant and very up with the time. You wonder how Lilia who is over 1,000+ years old knows something this relevant ??
Malleus:
Everyone is either scared or hates Malleus so when shows even little of love to Malleus he would hold and protect it at all cost. All in his mind is his love for you and it would consume his head like overgrown vines surrounding a castle.
To get these overgrown vines to bloom to beautiful flowers he would need help, which luckily for him he has a Guardian (lilia), a ward (silver), and a bodyguard (sebek) to help him. They would all gladly help as finally the mighty Malleus Draconia may find love. Lilia would pull out a thick and dust heavy book to help guide them on their journey, it was just a book full of ancient courting ways that the previous royals have done. Silver would try to stay awake but would fall asleep so much. While Sebek would sit all mumble something along the lines of “I wish that was me” “I want to help the young master”. After much consoling he practiced and hon on the success of this confession.
His confession was straight out of the textbook and to him he believed it was still “trendy” today. Ahh but his soft side would win anyone’s heart anyway, a side no one except you have seen.

SCREAM- 2022 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tumblr media
Words cannot express how much i enjoyed this movie. (Full spoilers ahead)
Eleven years after the last attacks, Ghostface is back in Woodsboro killing people who were related to the original attacks.
Ghostface is attacking a new group of friends as well as returning "legacy" characters returning from previous movies.
Lets start with the opening which sees Ghostface target Tara Carpenter (jenna ortega). Its much like the original opening scene with Casey Becker but with a more modern feel, and the questions she's being asked are about the Stab movies. Opening scene was scary and great to hear the iconic voice of Roger Jackson again. Wouldnt say it was my favourite Scream opening but was very well done.
Tumblr media
Unlike every other scream opening, the victim survives and we find out shes in the hospital. Her sister Sam who ran out on her family years ago returns to town with her boyfriend Richie (jack quaid). We meet her group of friends, several of whom are related to original characters. For example Chad and Mindy were related to Randy, Wes Hicks is Deputy Judy Hicks son. As for the group i liked them and thought they worked well. They were given proper screen time and time to develop there characters. I dont think they were anywhere near being on the level of the original group at all but that would be a tall order.
Tumblr media
Of all the new characters my favourite is Tara played by Jenna Ortega, shes an angel and very glad she lived, also liked her sister Samantha.
After my second viewing i really liked Chad and Mindy a lot more. Both funny and likable.
As for returning characters...
Was happy to see Deputy Hicks again, the scene where she was killed in broad daylight surprised the hell out of me and was so well done.
Was so happy to see Martha Meeks return in an adorable cameo! And the fact shed made a memorial cinema room for Randy! What a sweetheart! ❤ that was so good.
Bringing back Billy.... i couldnt have been any more shocked by that. Didnt see it comimg at all. I fucking loved it. Turns out Samantha is Billys illegitimate child and this plays a huge part in the plot, as she sees him in hallucinations. One of my favourite parts of the movie. Give us Stu next time!
Tumblr media
Of the big three i think Deweys character was handled the best. The lovable former sherriff is now living in a trailer after having seperated from Gail after she got a huge opportunity to host the morning show in New York. Was very nice to see he still had Tatums ashes in his trailer. It was great seeing him interact with the new characters. Hes as funny and kind as always. As for his death. It was absolutely heartbreaking. And done perfectly. I knew one of the big three were going to die. Didnt think it would be Sidney, and thought Gale was the best pick. Dewey is the heart and soul of the scream franchise and to see him die such a painful death had me in pieces in the cinema. But it had to be one of them so i understand.
Tumblr media
Sidney and Gail had the same amazing chemistry as always and was amazing to see them back together. Although id hoped theyd have got more screen time i understand why they didnt, and everything they did while they were on screen, made sense in line with there characters.
Tumblr media
When Dewey called Sidney and asked "hows Mark?". This surely confirms shes married to Detective Mark Kincaid from scream 3! While i would have loved if Patrick Dempsey could have made just a quick cameo, this was great, the movie is filled with excellent easter eggs like this that Scream fans will enjoy. Another is during the scene where James A Jannise from Dead Meat makes a hilarious cameo, a suggested youtube video says, interview with survivor Kirby Reed. Confirming the fan favourite from Scream 4 survives! Amazing. Movies filled with stuff like this as the directors are true fans of the franchise.
Tumblr media
New movie has the usual Scream meta talk discussing the rules of the movie. Does a great job of establishing everyones a suspect and works well as a whodunnit. So much of the fun of the scream movies is guessing who the killer is. I guessed Richie was one killer the other came as a surpirse. When Amber was revealed to be the other killer i was shocked as she barely stood as a character. Now ill see the movie again tommorrow so will be interesting to see her on the next viewing as ill already know shes the killer going in.
The killers motive?
They are both stab superfans who are furious with the latest movie going off the rails and are creating there own narrative for the next movie. This taking a stab at toxic fandoms. I think it works certainly. Some people im sure wont like it but you always need to take the scream killers motive with a grain of salt. Unlike other horror franchises like Halloween or Friday the 13th, they always have different killers and need new motives. Some work better than others. The Scream 4 killers motive wasnt received too well by a lot of fans at the time but i think was ahead of its time, this could turn out to be the same.
A few things i loved...
Tumblr media
The return of Sidney Prescott.
Hands down my favourite final girl from any horror movie (sorry nancy). She is smart, sweet, resourceful, insanely beautiful and just an all round hunk (female version). Horror aside she has to be in the running for my favourite character ever, so was lovely to see her again.
Excellent use of Red Right Hand in Kyle Gallners scene. Great to see Kyle Gallner also hes a great actor.
Ghostface was brilliant! Still as clumsy as ever but brutal when it came down to it. Some very grizzly stabbings take place.
Loved the footage of stab 8 going off the rails with Ghostface wielding a flamethrower and nunchucks. Hilarious.
Loved the stab footage we saw of Randy at the party.
Loved Tara watching Dawsons Creek in hospital, a nice Kevin Williamson nod.
Use of Stus house was perfect. So great to see it again and bring everything full circle.
The "FOR WES" that popped up at the end of the movie was very nice.
Overall this movie hit me right in the feels. Amazing to see the old gang back in Woodsboro. Wrapped itself up nicely as a stand alone film but theres so much they could do with a sequel. Many of the new gang survived unlike in Scream 4 where they were all killed. As long as it does well at the box office it seems a sequel is pretty much guaranteed. Directed by Matt Bittenelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillet.
Wore my best shirt to the cinema.

Enerjak Reborn: Epilogue
It’s time to answer the question on everybody’s mind. How did Ken respond to Ian killing off Locke, one of his pet characters?
Well, the answer, as you should expect, is: poorly
Now, it’s important to remind everyone that Ken has not actually read the arc. He never read any of Ian’s run, to my knowledge. But his fans were sure to tell him all about it and ask him how he felt
Eventually, in 2010, two years after this issue dropped, we got a response from Ken talking about how he felt about Ian’s run. (Again, even though he wasn’t actually reading it himself.) Said response is worth reading in full if you’re interested in all this drama and Ken’s mindset. You literally get to see the guy brag about how he actively ignored what Bollers was doing when the two were sharing writing duties, as if this is a good thing that makes him a better writer. He also criticizes Ian for using the previous writers’ characters instead of introducing even more characters to the bloated Archie cast in his first few years on the series. But the relevant part to the discussion of Enerjak reborn is here:
“I especially don’t consider anything either does with any of the echidna characters – especially Locke – to be canon as neither created the characters nor established them in stories as the viable fan favorites they’ve become. No matter what Ian writes, he can never alter the fact that in MY universe, the events of Locke’s passing as depicted in SONIC #143 is canon. Anything he writes can easily be counter-written by a better story with an alternative solution.”
Let’s just brush past the very funny part where he calls Locke a “viable fan favorite”
So yeah. Penders was VERY unhappy with the way Ian wrote Locke, and the way Locke’s death in Enerjak Reborn meant that the timeline depicted in Mobius: 25 Years Later wasn’t the one true future of the series. He’s also gone on record saying that he thinks Ian didn’t get the relationship between Locke and Knuckles. When asked about Ian’s work, this has always been one of the major things that’s bothered him
On a broader level, his ramblings here are reflective of how he views comic franchises in general. A particularly illustrative quote from him is provided in the comments section below the article I linked:
“The only work I consider significant to any character is the work done by the original creators. Anything done afterwards by anyone else pretty much doesn’t count. For example, I consider the original issues of FANTASTIC FOUR by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby to be the only stories that matter in the entire run. Anything being done today is by writers and artists who are simply building off the work Stan and Jack originated. I apply this standard to just about every character I ever enjoyed over the years.”
This odd mindset explains a lot about Ken. It explains why he hates that Ian kept using his characters, and why he actively avoided building off of the work of his contemporary writers at Archie. I can see what he means on some level, of course. When another writer comes in and adds more novels to a series after the original author dies, I generally tend to ignore those. And I skipped a good chunk of Twin Peaks season 2 because it had less involvement from creators David Lynch and Mark Frost, making a lot of it feel like filler. But we’re talking about a licensed comic, one that had been a collaboration between multiple writers based on the work done for the games and cartoons from the very beginning. Ken was never the sole writer--he wasn’t even there for the first year--and he was writing stories centered around characters he hadn’t created like Sonic, Sally, and Knuckles. He doesn’t take credit for creating any of those characters, but the hypocrisy still seems to be lost on him
But of course, we’re not just talking about Ian’s handling of all of Archie Sonic here. We’re talking about Locke. And as Ken has said himself, Locke was based partially on his own father. And that’s really the kicker here
As I’ve said many times before, I try to avoid psychoanalyzing Penders and digging into his personal life. I don’t know the guy, and that’s his own business. But it’s hard not to when he literally says shit like THIS to fans
Tumblr media
Locke is emotionally abusive towards his wife and son. Locke is also based on Ken’s dad. Ken refuses to see Locke as abusive, even though that’s exactly what he wrote, because that would mean acknowledging that his own father was abusive. So there’s always an excuse for why father knows best. It was a different era! They’re not humans! He could see the future! He might have hurt Knuckles, but it toughened him up, and he was always there for him in the end! The dad is never, ever at fault. The moms, on the other hands, are mere bystanders to the child rearing done by the dads. It’s just sad, really
I get why Ken would be bitter that Ian took this fictionalized version of his late dad, went “hey, this guy’s an asshole,” and then killed him off. I get why that would upset somebody. He wrote a very personal story there. But it’s not like Ian was pouring salt in a fresh wound--Ken lost his father all the way back in 1982. I know this because Ken literally dedicated the M25YL story about his version of Locke’s death to his dad. It had been nearly 30 years when he wrote this response to Ian’s work. That’s plenty of time to see a goddamn therapist instead of projecting all of your baggage onto Knuckles the Echidna and writing stories for kids about how you should never question your dad ever
Tumblr media
The irony, though, is that Ian’s different take on Locke is arguably way more nuanced than Ken’s ever was. In his final moments, Ian’s Locke turns into this tragic figure who only realizes too late that the way of life the Brotherhood had raised him to believe was a mistake, that he had failed his son by passing those beliefs on to him. But he’s still held responsible for what he did. He’s a horrible dad, and the characters around him call him out for his failures, but you pity him for only now realizing what he had done
Ken, on the other hand, gestures at Locke doing horrible things, then tells you to forget about all that and stop questioning him. Knuckles pretends he has a totally normal Leave it to Beaver-ass father-son relationship as soon as they reunite in the Knuckles series. As an adult he thinks back on how great a job Locke did raising him, even though Locke literally took him from his mother, raised him to believe that his mother and the rest of his species were all dead, and then pretended he himself was dead for six years of his son’s childhood (among MANY other things)
M25YL gestures at those very same themes of not repeating your parents’ mistakes that Ian touched on in Locke’s final moments. Knuckles is raising Lara-Su very differently from how Locke raised him, and Locke admits that he wishes he had raised Knuckles differently on his deathbed. But his decision to suddenly admit wrongdoing in this flashback to his death feels unearned and arbitrary. Locke is never at fault. We cannot question Locke. Knuckles turned out fine, so don’t worry about it. Locke might regret the way Knuckles raised him, but Knuckles is not allowed to hold any ill will towards his father or question his methods whatsoever. We’re allowed to gesture at the idea that Knuckles doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes of the previous generations, but those vague mistakes aren’t allowed to be anyone’s fault. That’s just “how things were”
Ken would do a lot more than just complain about Ian’s handling of Locke on the internet, though. Because you see, the way Ian wrote Locke is commonly cited as one of the main reasons why Ken started copyrighting his work, right up there with Bioware basing the story of Sonic Chronicles partially off of the Knuckles comics without his blessing. And those copyrights, of course, were what started the legal battle that would kill off the original Archieverse

The Blanket Incident
Just some Hotch/Morgan to start off the Monday
Derek takes one good look at himself, double-checks the tie he may or may not have stolen from Aaron, before nodding and deciding he’s got to get out of this house before he’s late for work. The BAU can handle one missing adult but it will burn to the ground without at least one person wearing the decision hat. He grabs his coat off the back of the chair and as he opens the bedroom door there’s a low, pained groan from the mass of blankets still curled up on the bed. Derek rolls his eyes but answers to what he thinks is a whiny rasp of his name.
He squats down by Aaron’s side of the bed, smirking as he pushes two or three layers of blanket around until he can see his loves flushed face looking back at him. “There you are,” he whispers. “I was just about to go.” Derek takes in Aaron’s red-rimmed eyes, that sleepy gaze he settles over Derek. He’s just content to have Derek close, within his line of sight. Derek doesn’t want to leave him.
Even under his mass of blankets, as Derek walked around their room stealing a tie from Aaron’s dresser and hunting down a solid white shirt, he could hear Aaron breathing. Choked, thick sounds as he exhaled too far and curled deeper into his nest, coughing until it hurt too much and he just held his breath through the next round. Each of those sounds, even the softer ones he made in his sleep, were just breaking Derek down. Eroding his decision to go to work and leave Aaron here. Now he’s looking at Aaron and wondering if this is really the right choice.
“You weren’t going to say goodbye?” Hotch asks, face pinched in a way that Derek’s only seen on Jack. That pouty sort of twist that died out by the time Jack was ten but now mostly shows through when he’s told he can’t stay out too late or to text them when he gets wherever it is he’s going.
Derek sighs, patiently slipping his hand into the blanket jungle to cup Hotch’s head in his hand. “I kissed you goodbye, Aaron.” He’d only paused at the mirror to double-check himself, to stall. His hair parts under Derek’s careful touch, sweat-slick hair against Derek’s palm. He can feel the height packed in around Hotch’s body from his fever and trapped there by the heated blanket. He’s got it turned all the way up, no doubt. His response is a soft hum, Aaron’s eyes slipping shut. “Are you sure you’re okay?” He strokes Aaron’s cheek with his thumb, worrying his lip as he watches Aaron’s lips part so that he can breathe. Unable to get any air through his congested sinuses.
“S’okay,” Aaron mumbles.
Derek can’t bring himself to believe that. At best, Aaron lays here in his heated blanket all day baking in his fever with no reprieve from the heat. His fever will climb, feeding off of his immobility. He won’t drink the water sitting on the nightstand and he’s already missed his morning round of medicine so he’s probably going to ignore the other things Derek’s carefully left out on the nightstand.
“I’ll be right back.” Derek will check his temperature. Anything lower than 101 is fine, Aaron’s handled a lot in his life. A little fever won’t kill him. He’s the sort that likes to ride out a fever, his body is more than used to his rough ideas of self-care. What Derek’s worried about is the fact that his fever isn’t that low. He’s certain it’s not. And, mostly, just because Aaron likes to skate by and ride the thin line of “well, I’m not dead yet” doesn't mean that’s a ride that Derek wants to watch him go on.
Derek runs the back of his knuckle down the side of Aaron’s face, softly calling his name until he gets a hum in response. “Let me take your temperature.” He knows that this isn’t going to be easy, Aaron's like a giant man-child when it comes to being taken care of. He needs to prove that he’s okay, that he can do it on his own. Which is why when Aaron opens his mouth to mumbles “I’m fine, you don’t need to do that” Derek slips the thermometer into his mouth. It makes Aaron make the cutest little pouty face and Derek smiles back, holding his hand under Aaron’s chin to keep his mouth shut.
“I love you,” Derek reminds him when it beeps and he can turn it over to look at the numbers.
Aaron grumbles, curling in so he can hide his face in his blankets. “No you don’t,” he whines.
Looking at these numbers [103.2] Aaron’s really not going to believe his love. “Then you’re really not going to like this,” he whispers in apology. Aaron groans and Derek just sighs, tossing the thermometer on the nightstand. “I’m going to run some water for a bath, alright? Can you work on sitting up?” Derek doesn’t even wait, just keeps his soft instructions coming as he jogs to the bathroom. Turns the water to the coldest setting and lets it run.
“Are you--” Derek stops in place, cuts himself off to wait as Hotch sits himself up. His pale face is pinched in pain, his hands shaking where he holds himself upright. It’s vertigo, caused by age or the shit tons of medication they pour into him. It’s like they send him home with three more every time they go.
Derek clears his throat, moves further into the room. “Come on, love.”
Love. If Aaron were more awake he’d grumble, complain that Derek went away to England for a week, and come back with all this nonsensical vocabulary. He pretends to hate it but he feels special every time Derek whispers it to him. Knows he only does it because Hotch pretends to loathe it.
“Easy,” Derek holds onto his elbow, keeping him steady so that he can struggle out of his pants. It’s reflexive, a movement he’s done a thousand times before but as his fingers hook underneath the thin material of Aaron’s shirt he grabs Derek’s hand.
“No,” Aaron mumbles, his frown lined with his distress but Derke doesn’t understand.
“You don’t want to take your shirt off?” Aaron sways, shifting his hold so he leans closer into Derek. His legs weakly trying to give out from beneath him. Derek holds him closer, wrapping both arms around him until he can maneuver Aaron to the edge of the tub. Guiding him to sit down on the edge of the tub, Derek kneels down in front of him. “Aaron,” Derek cups his cheek, directing Aaron’s fever-hazed eyes to his own. “I’ve seen you naked, remember? You’ve got nothing to hide.”
But feverish and sick Aaron can’t comprehend all that. What lays written out on his skin are countless examples of his weakness and is not enough that he needs Derek to hold him upright? He’ll scare Derek away. There’s no way that he’ll want to stay. He’ll see the perfect circles of old cigarette burns, the shattered impacts of bullet wound scars, and Foyet’s mark all right there. Plain as day.
“Aaron,” Derek soothes. “It’s a white t-shirt.” He knows what it is. Aaron’s not half as good as he thinks he is at hiding secrets. “But you can keep it on if you want to. That’s okay.” And it’s silly and stupid to him but if it’s that important to Aaron then… okay. It’s okay. That’s one of the hard parts, letting Aaron believe his mirage remains upheld. It’s important to him and so it’s become important to Derek.
“In the tub then,” Derek instructs. It’s a slow process, one foot at a time and Aaron’s discontent with the water’s cold temperature. “I know, I know,” Derek soothes, but he forces Aaron down into the water. Makes him settle down no matter how he complains. “Just sit for a little bit and I’ll let you have your blankets back.”
Aaron leans into Derek, lets him manipulate his limbs down into the water. Sinks down, down, down until his head is leaning into Derek’s hand, keeping his chin out of the water. Derek smiles down at him, cupping water in the palm of his hand guiding it to fall over Aaron’s face. “Feels better, huh?”
Hotch looks at his legs, long limbs awkwardly bent up out of the water. “I don’t even fit in the tub,” he rasps.
Derek squints his eyes, “stop grumbling about everything like an old man.” He makes a point to flick the edge of Aaron’s nose. A little bop that makes Aaron curl his nose, grunts in annoyance. “Will you be okay for a minute?” Derek asks. “I need to call Dave, warn him that neither of us are coming in.”
Hotch nods and Derek can see that while his introduction of the freezing tub of torture wasn’t a welcomed suggestion, it’s brought back focus to Hotch’s eyes. Made him more coherent, more present. Hotch’s nod is followed by his slow, careful movements. Working his arms underneath himself until he can sit up. “Go,” he instructs. His cheek rests against the bathtub's edge, soaking in the cool feeling of the porcelain. “I won’t drown.”
Derek stands up with a groan, rolling his eyes. He kisses Aaron’s forehead, “I didn’t mean it like that, you old drama queen.”
Calling Dave is simple enough, an easy run-through. Garcia clears Hotch’s schedule for the day, pushes meetings back. Derek can hear the water splashing around when he moves down the hall, setting about making some toast. He and Jack had breakfast, shared a pot of coffee and Derek watched Jack devour two bowls of cereal and then pocket a pop-tart for later. Aaron had still been in bed.
“Hello good looking,” Derek leans in the doorway of their room smiling.
Aaron turns, signature frown slapped in place. He’s standing there on his side of the bed, one arm protectively pulled to his chest. He hasn’t dried off all the way, his shirt stuck to his skin. His hair falling down into his face. “Where’d you put my blanket?” He’s pouting. All but whining as he sadly tosses the blankets he doesn’t want out of his way.
“In the wash,” Derek supplies, “it’ll be fine. You won’t freeze before then.”
Aaron groans, sitting down on the edge of the bed. “Why’d you take it?” He folds over himself, rests his head in his hand, his elbow on his knee. Rubbing his temple, digging his thumb into the skin.
“Love,” Derek squats down in front of Aaron. “You’ve been hauled up in that blanket all night. All gross and sweaty.” He smirks, laughing as Aaron leans over onto him. Presses his forehead into Derek’s neck like he’s trying to bury himself there. He’s still feverishly warm but far more coherent. “It’s going to come out of the wash and I’ll bring it back to you I promise.” Derek runs his hand through Aaron’s hair, the strands wet and cold. “Come to bed, I’ll keep you warm.”
Aaron groans, lifting his face just enough to grumble out, “traitor.”
“Okay,” Derek chuckles, “okay, I’m a dirty traitor for washing your blanket. Will you come to bed?”
Aaron nods, “we’ll need more blankets.”
Derek shakes his head, sighing. “Okay,” he caves. “Okay, I’ll get you more blankets.”
He goes to get three blankets, tucks them under his arm so that Aaron can decide which ones are nice enough to keep and which ones won’t do. He checks on the heating blanket, the cover. He didn’t just throw the whole thing in there. He’s doubling back for the bedroom with the fantastic news that his blanket will be done soon to find Aaron is out. He’s curled in the middle of the bed, taking up more than his fair share. Burning under the comforter.
Which is normal.
Aaron hogs the blankets.
Aaron hogs the bed.
“Derek?” Hotch feels the bed shift as Derek lays down beside him. An arm comes over his hips, a knee against his thigh. He hadn’t heard Derek come in, hadn’t heard him changing his clothes. Moving about the room.
Derek settles in, gets comfortable. He’ll get that stupid blanket out when it’s done. It will smell remarkably better but Hotch won’t comment, he’ll tuck himself further into it and pretend not to hear Morgan’s comment about burning down the house with faulty wiring.
“Blankets not done yet,” Derek mumbles into Aaron’s back. “I’ll get it when it's done, okay?”
“Promise?”
“Yes, I promise I’ll get your stupid blanket. Sleep, Aaron.”

So I just wanted to ask how you would best “sum up” Hal? Like, what are the key traits to his character? I pretty much only read Flash comics so I have no idea where to even begin with on an accurate assessment of him 😔
A chance to rant about my disaster boy? Yes please
Okay so Harold “Hal” Jordan aka Highball aka the Green Lantern
He is seemingly a man of contradictions. Which I think is actually different writers thinking that Hal is who he presents himself to be and others thinking Hal is putting on an act so it differs
But Hal is a very complex character.
He is incredibly stubborn which he gets from his mama. Hal wanted to fly and he knew his mother would stop talking to him if he did. But he chose his path over a relationship with his mother
Hal got his love of flying and freedom from his dad.
Hal is always going to go for what he wants. His determination is what makes him such a strong lantern.
One thing people note is his string of girlfriends lol. Hal is incredibly charming. He’s got an aura around him that makes people just wanna be with him or be his friend even. He makes friends with all sorts of people. His friendships can vary from antagonistic to warm at any given moment but he’s still very close to everyone he spends his time with. For example Hal and Guy Gardner bicker all the time but they’re still very close friends who do love each other.
Here is another contradiction as well. Hal is very against the idea of getting married because he doesn’t like the commitment. But he’s committed his life to flying and to the corps. And even in the relationship front he told his buddy Tom that Barry could count on Hal’s friendship till they died. So it’s the romantic entanglements Hal isn’t sure he wants the life long with I guess
Hal is incredibly confident in his abilities. Say what you will about his self worth but Hal knows he’s the best of the best. Hal knows he’s gonna win cause he’s Hal it’s just in him. Some would call is show boating which is a part of it. But Hal tends to lead the charges in fights because he wants the guns pointed at him.
Which leads into the next point Hal is extremely protective. He is protective of his brothers and their kids. He’s protective of his fellow corpsmen Kyle most notably who Hal treats like a kid brother. He’s protective of the corps as a whole.
Hal will always do whatever it takes to get the job done even if it veers into grayer territory. He’ll kill if he thinks it’s the best course of action. Hal can go to extreme lengths to do things. ie pre the retcon Parallax was Hal trying to reset the universe to the pre crisis timeline because he thought that would be best for everyone. Coast City would be back, Barry would be back etc.
Now let’s circle back to that self worth thing I mentioned. So Hal is very much aware of his worth as a superhero and Green Lantern. Even as a pilot. He’s never doubted his own skills really
But as a person that’s where Hal’s insecurities come into play. Hal from a young age was being compared to his older brother Jack who to put it as nicely as I can is an asshole.
Hal then started comparing himself to other heroes like Clark and Barry. Most notably Barry who Hal believes to be the very best not just of the heroes but of humanity itself. Hal has made comments that make it clear he doesn’t think he measures up to Barry’s level of “goodness”
(Which I like to think as a bit of meta play because in the late 50s every character was changed or created to model after Barry for sales purposes so no one is gonna measure up lol)
Anyways yeah now onto the fear thing. Older comics bought into the Man with no Fear thing but I think Daredevil has that trademarked. Hal having no fear was one thing that was said to have annoyed Bruce the most.
Hal was very reckless not because he had any death wish but because he wasn’t registering the inherent danger of a situation. It wasn’t so much not looking before he leapt but more not thinking that he should look or looking and then going. A gun pointed at him for example he knew could kill him but that didn’t scare him even when he was a teenager and didn’t have his ring or anything.
Hal could be afraid in the moment that’s for sure when Barry is in danger for example. (It’s that one fear t-shirt meme with them) Or if one of his nieces or nephews might be hurt. But it’s more like a panicked state than having fear
Like there was a complete disconnect in his mind which is a very interesting psyche I’d wished they’d explored it a little more
Modern comics would have you believe Hal is pretending to not be afraid because they really want to push the overcome great fear thing. But I think they went a little far saying Hal is scared every time he flies because if there is one thing about Hal that’s always consistent it’s that he loves loves loves flying.
I have thoughts here if you wanna read more on that rant lol
But yeah so Hal is stubborn, determined, protective, charming, reckless, self assured in his abilities but self deprecating in his personality, willing to walk those lines of morality, and depending on the writer fearless or a damn good actor
Hope that helps lol. His character varies a lot cause writers aren’t so sure how to handle him all the time so yeah.
Any other Hal readers/fans can feel free to jump in if they feel like I’ve missed something or got something way wrong but this is what I’ve got from reading Hal

Why Modern Cartoons is Not Great as it Used to be in this Decade
As 2010′s draw near to the end and begin a next-generation, cartoons have changed from being a fun episodic adventure with a meaningful message and can get dark sometimes to a story-driven show with deep messages. While cartoons have a great start in early 2010s such as Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gravity Falls, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, however as time passes cartoons are becoming less interesting and not many aren’t talking about it. So what the hell happened with modern cartoons? Let’s get to the bottom of what happened to this decade of cartoons and why isn’t anyone talking about it anymore
The Animation Quality
The quality of the animation of cartoons back in 2000′s were amazing, so many variations of animation styles that look very appealing such as
Samurai Jack
Tumblr media
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Tumblr media
Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends
Tumblr media
Recess
Tumblr media
Proud Family and so many more
Tumblr media
But now in modern cartoons, most cartoon shows are using a similar style of animation which many people called it “Calarts style”. Most cartoon shows are using because it’s cheap however it takes away creativity, more detail nor being organic. Look at Infinity Train, compare from the pilot to the release
Tumblr media
It looks very boring having most cartoons look the same. Then there’s artistic freedom where creators let them draw whatever they want such as Steven Universe and OK KO. That sounds good but really though it just looks lazy and unprofessional. This is very distracting that most characters go off-model every scene like why Rebecca and Ian-Jones Quarry think it was a good idea!
Tumblr media
Great to Below Average
So now let’s talk about the three shows that were once popular Steven Universe, Voltron, and Star vs The Forces of Evil. The trope I’ve been seeing as of late about these shows that it was pretty hype and they deliver on that. All they need to do is conclude it and call it a good cartoon but then crash and burned in later seasons.
Steven Universe didn’t get popular until “Jailbreak” and that was when everyone was watching it. It had character development, an interesting world of gems, a gorgeous background and has one of the best soundtracks. This isn’t surprising because the creator is the same person who wrote Marceline episodes in Adventure Time which was Rebecca Sugar that created the series. Then season 4 and season 5 happened which the show drop in quality like mostly the show prefer showing filler which makes the plot go too fast and made arcs underwhelming, crystals gems and Lapis Lazuli and Peridot aren’t being used that much in the show and having each villain being beaten by simply talking to them. While there is Steven Universe Future but that hasn’t gotten interesting in my opinion.
Tumblr media
Star vs The Forces of Evil is a show used to be interesting for the two seasons and “Battle for Mewni” arc but then shipping drama got out of hand and that resulted to fell from grace
Tumblr media
Then there’s Voltron and we all how that turned out for the last two seasons
Tumblr media
What these three have in common that they set up this interesting premise and world in the first few seasons but they all went downhill. Awful character writing, insane plot twist, and terrible pacing. I did wish that those shows would get better like how Adventure Time and Regular Show had one bad season but after that, they both got better but they didn’t and it went from being great to disappointingly average.
Comedy Over Messages
Now that’s got the most hype shows, let’s talk about shows that not many people talk about because the premise and world aren’t engaging enough to watch and which they are We Bare Bears, Craig in the Creek, Clarence, OK KO, and The Loud House. While I’m not saying they aren’t bad but it is just not interesting to watch, it's just that it’s too tame and too comedic. The main issue I have it doesn’t really teach viewers like they used to anymore
OK KO was about to talk about gun violence but they turn it into a comedy. In “Let’s Not Be Skeletons” people overuse the gun and resulting everyone to turn skeletons and KO tries to stop it but fails. By the end of the episode, it was a dream and calls Congress to stop it from happening. I really hate how writers of this episode of making a serious issue turn into comedy and that’s a pretty awful way of doing it.
Tumblr media
Look at Static Shock and Fat Albert, instead of making Gun Violence a joke, they talk about how serious it is by having someone shot and that devastated the characters a lot
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then there's Hey Arnold, it really dives into serious issues such as
“Pigeon Man” showcases that some people are meant to be with other people while others like Pigeon Man are just different and can’t be with other people.
Tumblr media
“Helga on the Couch” showcases Helga's anger issues and those issues manifest because her family ignores her because of her sister. Never truly cares for like no makes her lunch for school and no one brought her to school when she was a young girl. The only person that cares for was Arnold.
Tumblr media
Then there’s my personal favorite, “Arnold Christmas”. Mr. Hyunh is always sad at Christmas and this episode revealed that he had a daughter and all he wanted was to see her grow up but there was a war coming near his village. In order to do so, he had to give her up so she can have a better life. It took 20 years to get out of the country and he almost gave up hope to find her until Helga helped Arnold to search for her and be reunited with her father.
Tumblr media
Modern cartoons don’t show those kinds of messages anymore and there’s something worse than that and I hate how cartoon shows keep doing this.
Today’s Villains
I” ve been seeing a lot lately that the main antagonist isn't handled well in cartoons as of lately. Most villains have been getting redeemed lately and not paying their crimes. While show creatures try to make them sympathetic and the victim however it doesn’t excuse them for their crimes.
White Diamond who caused multiple mass genocide on worlds, brainwash any gem that stands in her way and shatter gems gets easily defeated by simply getting talk to and just not gonna do it anymore because Steven said so.
Tumblr media
Mina Loveberry and her Mewni soldiers wanted to destroy monsters. When her and her army magic depleted, she just goes in the wilderness and no one stopped her.
Tumblr media
Moon Butterfly helped Mina create her soldiers so she can retake the throne from Ecipsa. Instead of having the monsters and her surrendering the throne that she was attending to do, however, her plan backfired when Mewni Soldiers and Mina wanted to kill all the monsters. Why didn’t Moon saw that coming, they were clearly racist against them. Then by the end of the show, she never once apologized for what she has done.
Tumblr media
Starlight Glimmer created a cult that no one has cutie marks until the mane six defeated her in “Cutie Map” She returns and her revenge on Twilight by going back in time and making sure Rainbow Dash doesn’t perform the Sonic Rainboom. After multiple going to multiple timelines, she finally catches up to her and then her tragic backstory been revealed and it was very disappointing. The reason she caused all of this because her friend moved away and that’s it. That’s not all, instead of her facing her crimes like most villains such as Tirek or Queen Chrysalis, she gets off the hook and she became friends with Twilight in a matter of minutes
Tumblr media
A good example of a good antagonist is Aku from Samurai Jack. When he first appeared in the show, he’s pure evil, destroying anything that stood in his way and ruling over the weak but as the show progresses, the serious villain became more comedic villain but that doesn’t mean he’s a silly character, he’s far from that. He’s still all-powerful and should be taken seriously. This is what I want from a villain.  He’s powerful, he’s truly evil and has a personality.
Tumblr media
Villains can be sympathetic and relatable however shouldn’t be forgiven so easily. When a character crosses the line by taking multiple innocent lives should never be redeemed, even if they have a sad backstory
Cartoons lately have become less popular in this past decade, the glaring problems about cartoons are its animation, comedy over messages, messy plots, and terrible villain. People will only talk about cartoons from the late ’80s to 2012. I’m afraid that this day of age that it isn’t appealing anymore than in previous years. The only animation that people will talk about is anime shows which I can’t lie, is far superior to cartoons as of now. I feel that the only way it can make it back on top is it needs something like Adventure Time or Gravity Falls moment that reinvent it more relevant and view to modern audiences. I really do like to watch cartoon shows for animation, message, and characters but I keep seeing issues in modern cartoons and I hope that it will change in the future.

hello this is jack manifold anon again, Sam Thoughts this time because how cool is sam's character arc now???? like, he's both sympathetic but also questionable and terrifying, and so wrong which is so fascinating??? (this whole thing isn't meant to be an excuse for anything btw, torture Bad, many things he did Bad)
because, first of all he's seen as this monolith of a man, rich as hell, from the beginning he was loyal to badlands, shown that he's willing to condone some questionable behaviour with the whole badlands overtake, las nevadas + bank etc, can be ruthless when he needs (or at least he thinks he needs) to be, shown with his warden persona
but also he cares so much about people - him confessing that he would have to let dream go if he hurt tommy is one of the best examples of that, him writing in ranboo's book that it's all his fault??? fucking heartbreaking (no matter if you think it is or isn't - the fact that he feels so strongly about it, that he puts all the blame entirely on himself, not dream, when he had a lot of good reason to believe dream won't do shit, is just such an interesting part of his character)
the stuff with the egg especially shows that - man got trapped, forced to eat his own flesh, threatened, permanently psychologically scarred from the egg, and still went to search for hannah to rescue her, despite that fact that he was straight up terrified the whole time (couldn't even go into the egg room the first time), and when he's offered help from a literal god? he leaves, again placing the responsibility entirely on himself
I think the fact that he cares, IS why the warden persona actually exists at all, (this is excellently portrayed in the stream where ponk visited the prison, the mood change and sam's hard but tired behaviour is just fantastic), and why he got so easily manipulated/swayed by quackity to let him into the prison.
I firmly believe what pushed him over the edge was tommy's death, and especially his later words (not blaming tommy there btw), because him saying that sam let him die was basically him confirming sam's worst fears after everyone told him that it's not true. HOWEVER I also think that was kind of a last straw situation - because his friends/badlands members (that he was so loyal to) were all possessed by the egg and tired to kill/trap him, traumatising him in the process, and then his best friend/valentine got possessed too (and explicitly blaming sam for it), in addition to dream harming him psychologically in prison (not talking about how dream was treated by sam here - only the confirmed treatment of sam by dream), and the fact that he always places any responsibility on himself and the paranoia of it all (especially bc . tommy fucking died and he still doesn't know who did the tnt). I believe all this caused a crack, because he can't separate his warden persona from himself anymore, sam's worried and intense fear bleeds into the warden, and warden's ruthlessness and seriousness bleeds into sam in return.
that's what makes this all so fascinating - sam undoubtedly is very powerful - ultimate authority over the prison, rich as hell, just a monolith of a man, but he's also very powerless when it counts for him, with the fear and suffering and pure trauma of the egg, with dream (when it comes to a psychological level), with the terrible loneliness he brings on himself by always placing all the responsibility on himself. and the fact that he (feels he) has to make sure now that everything is proper regarding the prison, sealed completely shut, pushed this bendy ruler in a much more violent, merciless direction. He clearly doesn't enjoy being the warden (ex: ponk's prison visit, ranboo confession, foolish convo), but he can't separate the warden and sam anymore, and sam was willing to participate questionable stuff before, so of course he's gonna get more and more extreme. To paraphrase:
Foolish: "You have friends"
Sam: "I have many friends, but it is only my burden to bear"
anyway sorry for the ramble jdbxjdbxj again I need to stress that this isn't a "defense" of his is actions or anything, it's just very cool to see the process he went through to get to them :3 (also hello any ponk watchers it seems that love is dead again, let's see how long this one will last now that it's very canon)
yeah man im so. AAAAAAAA sams character is just so WELL DONE and interesting!!! like honestly i kinda saw this shit from a mile off, it’s obvious no one person can handle what he went through without getting cracked by it

Can I just ask how you make your ocs interesting? I’m trying to make my own Twst oc and he’s going to be a big eater himself, so what qualities could I give him to make him seem interesting?
Ooooh...okay, this is a HARD one to answer. So...buckle in, this will proooobably be long. 'XD First and foremost...I never SET OUT to make my characters "interesting." If...that makes sense? Here's the thing about writing advice from me: I'm bad at it. LOL It's not like writing is easy for me (it REALLY isn't) and it's not like there aren't certain things I try to keep in mind and ideas and concepts and even rules I follow...it's just that, in the moment of creating a character, I'm usually just...creating a character. And how that happens can work in a variety of different ways. Also, what makes a character "interesting" can be so many different things. It's not like there's some magic wand of interesting-making-power that I have. So...I guess what I can tell you is that there are a few things I keep in mind when I'm making my own TW OCs. The main ones, that is - including my preds and Chief Jehan (since he's the only recurring non-pred OC I have in my gallery CURRENTLY; I have another I'm actually planning to write about after I finish Nakoda's next big work, WHICH WILL BE DONE, I PROMISE YOU). First of all, I don't know if your OC is a TRUE OC or based on a Disney character. There are, of course, original characters in TW: Jack doesn't seem to come from anywhere specific, and it's hard to tell with several other characters. For example, most of the Heartslabyul students are clearly based on the Card Guards from Alice in Wonderland, but those characters in the film (and book) are really one solid unit, so they really do come across as original characters with a Card Guard motif beyond anything else. If your character is purely original, all you have to do is make sure they fit the style of this universe. If your OC is - as all of mine so far, and most in general, tend to be - a reimagining of a popular Disney Villain or other Disney Character, then you first have to look at what makes this villain who they are. All of the Night Raven students who are based on such characters - and that is the vast majority of them - have the sort of creative DNA of those characters in their personalities, motivations, and even appearance. Even with someone like Idia, there's a little something of Hades there; Leona takes a LOT from Scar; Azul goes in a somewhat different direction from Ursula (he's more like Mephistopheles or an old-time-gangster), but the basic idea of his modus operandi and elements of his look are found with her, as well. See what elements you think are most important to keep or throw out. And you WILL have to throw stuff out: the Disney Villains are usually pure evil. That's part of their appeal. Very few of them have much empathy or sympathy, what makes them interesting is usually just how much they ENJOY what they do, and how creatively they're handled, and how delectably they're voiced. No one watches Scar kill his own brother and try to murder a small child and thinks he's in the right; that's about the point where we stop finding him funny and instead think he's a right old git. But OH, how we love watching "Be Prepared," how we love seeing him toy with and tease people, and how we relish how much FUN Jeremy Irons is clearly having with every SYLLABLE of his dialogue. With Twisted Wonderland, the whole point of the "villains" of Night Raven is they really aren't villains at all. They're not always good people, but they aren't always bad, either. They all have sad and sympathetic origin stories, they all have understandable reasons for why they do the terrible things they do, and we like to see how they learn from their mistakes and even become friends and helpers to us. They are rounded, flawed people, not demons or lost causes. Your OC should be the same: someone the audience can understand on a fundamental level and find a way to latch onto. These characters can be dangerous, at times downright evil, but they should also be characters we care about: that's a BIG part of their identity, pretty much universally. Going back to Scar: with Leona, the first big change for his character is that he
legitimately cares for his family. Yes, he's annoyed by his nephew, and yes, he resents his big brother, but he makes it clear (perhaps without trying to, because Chernabog forbid he ADMITS having empathy) he does still love them. That, ultimately, above all else, is what separates him from his inspiration: Scar will kill and backstab anyone and enjoy it. Leona still has the capacity to care about other living creatures. Find what makes your inspiration tick, and then "twist" it up: if they're greedy, WHY are they greedy? If they're gluttons, is there anything you can add to that? If you can't find a way to justify your character, then you should probably consider trying a different one. Also, do try to stick with Disney characters. I guess there's nothing to say you can't do other franchises and such, but it feels like cheating to me to include non-Disney properties in a place like this. Then again, Disney freaking owns HALF THE BLOODY PLANET at this point, so that won't be too hard, I guess. :P Anyway...one last word of note: one very hard part is finding a way to make your character unique. I've come to find people have actually made a few different Kaa OCs, but none are the same as Nakoda. If you're familiar with people doing a lot of different versions of the same character, then make sure you're doing something that is truly your own: don't just riff off of someone else's work. Nako may be based on the same character as some of those others, but he's aaallllll mine. If you're not aware of it...then don't worry about it! Don't look it up, don't be discouraged, don't fret! Trust me, the more you freak out about if other people have had the same idea, the less inclined you'll be to try, and/or the more influenced you'll be. Just do what YOU like best. On top of that, be careful your character isn't too similar to other characters within the TW universe: one of the reasons I haven't and likely may not ever make a Shere Khan OC is because, as of now, I don't really know what I'd do with Shere Khan that other characters don't already have, on several levels. I love Shere Khan - he's one of my favorite Furry Preds - but I don't know what I'd do to make him all my own and make him different from both the canon cast and the OCs I've already planned or created. Again, you want your character to stand out and be all your own, as well as fitting for this universe. After all that...it's all aesthetics. Their powers, their designs, their names...maybe you have those ideas first, maybe you don't know yet. It doesn't really matter where you start - Billy and Nako both started with plot concepts, Eli and Reno both started with a desire to make OCs based on certain characters - but the basic idea is, what makes a TW OC interesting is this blend of elements: they need to be unique, and they need to be understandable, and they need to fit the rules and ideas of this world. I could say SO much more, but this post is lengthy enough, and I'm under medication, so I've probably been rambling for too long as it is. 'XD If you have any other questions I can answer more easily, you're always welcome to send them along.

20210218 Jack Jeanne Creator Interview with Famitsu - Interview #1 with Ishida Sui
The Jack Jeanne staff (Ishida Sui, Towada Shin, Kosemura Akira, Seishiro) were interviewed by Famitsu, a Japanese gaming magazine for Jack Jeanne’s release. Someone was kind enough to let me read it, so I’ll be translating the 4 interviews. The interview with Ishida I’ll do a full TL, and the other three I may do more of a summary since I’ve been busy lately.
Ishida Sui
Creator / Character Designer / Script Supervisor
Mangaka. From Fukuoka Prefecture. Creator of “Tokyo Ghoul” and “Tokyo Ghoul:re.” 2021 marks his 10th anniversary in the art industry.
Tumblr media
Characters that were created based on the idea of “personifying plays”
Please share with us how you honestly felt when you received the commission request for this work.
That it seemed kind of questionable but interesting nonetheless. “If others can do it, I can too,” I thought.
How did fans react after Jack Jeanne was announced?
I still get letters from the readers of Tokyo Ghoul to this day, but some of them would bring up Jack Jeanne, or mention that they like a character and are interested in them even before the game’s release, so it makes me happy seeing that reception.
Please share with us your thoughts about being in charge of the character design.
It was a good learning experience because it was something I’d never done while working on my manga, trying to finalize the 6-member cast of the protagonist and the main characters, and then completely focusing on them as an elite squad. I tend to make too many characters, so...
When coming up with a character, how do you develop their image?
Previously, I decided it based on the character’s name and face. But with Jack Jeanne, it was a trial-and-error process. At first, I envisioned each character as a personification of a play - for example, Fumi was modelled off of “Salome”, Yonaga off of “Shintokumaru”, Shirota from one of Yamamoto Shūgorō’s works... I dropped the idea after that...and that’s how they were developed. They were created in a peculiar way this time.
Which character did you have the easiest time drawing, and on the flipside, which character did you find yourself struggling to draw?
Kai was the very first character I created, followed by Fumi. Those two I was able to draw relatively quickly. I wouldn’t really call this a struggle, but Suzu, the one with the red hair, wasn’t part of the main cast of six at first. Ootori, the blond character with the prickly personality, was actually part of the main cast at first, but since I wanted a simple-minded character, Suzu ended up being promoted.
I’m sure you consider every character your favourite, but if you had to pick only one character, who would it be?
Probably the main character Kisa. She embodies everything I think of in a shoujo manga protagonist, and I’m very fond of her. But I really do love all the characters. They each have their own appeal, so I can’t settle on just one.
Was there anything you had to constantly keep in mind when designing the characters for Jack Jeanne?
Broccoli specially requested that I give every character a strong colour palette. It’s because if I’m left to my vices, I end up using only subdued tones...I also constantly kept in my mind that I was making them look good-looking as boys.
You were also responsible for the event illustrations in the game. Could you give more details about them, and any difficulties that you faced?
For the event illustrations, I had to be aware of what scene would best match the script. Towada-san also specified where the illustrations should be inserted, but if there was a better scene before or after it, I gave priority to it instead. The hardest part...was drawing them all by myself. There ended up being more than 160 illustrations.
I heard it was you who requested Touyama Maki to design the chibi characters. Please share with us the appeal of the chibi characters drawn by Touyama-san, as well as your thoughts when you saw the chibi characters in the game.
Touyama-san’s appeal...is that their art is great! The deformed characters are perfectly balanced and outstandingly stable. I’m also a fan of their art and I like their life-proportion-size characters. It’s really cute seeing them move their tiny limbs around on the game screen.
Despite his humble abilities as an amateur lyricist, he oversaw every song with a burning passion that was second to none.
You supervised the game and the script, but what was the most memorable part of working on this game for you?
For starters, I vividly recall talking with Towada-san all the time. It was common for us to spend 10 hours a day talking to one another, several times a week.
How did production handled between the two of you for the script proceed?
I come up with the general outline. I’d talk about the overall flow and the key developments during the meetings, and Towada-san would take that and organize it, adding descriptions and colour to the details. It would have been impossible to create Jack Jeanne without her.
You wrote the lyrics to all the songs, including the opening song “Jack & Jeanne Of Quartz.” Please share with us how you came to be in charge of the lyrics.
Originally, there were several candidates, and there was even one person that I thought, “This person might be the one.” But I realized that it would take an enormous amount of time to share the understanding of my work to them, so I decided to give it a try, thinking that even an amateur would be the best for the job as long as they were passionate.
How did you come up with the lyrics?
I’m embarrassed to say this since I’m a complete amateur, but I tried my best to associate it with the feelings and information related to the subject, and whether it sounded good when sung...at any rate, I did my absolute best.
Are there any verses in the lyrics that you’d like people to pay special attention to, or any phrases that you really liked?
Avu-chan from Ziyoou-vachi (a 4-member rock band) is a friend of mine, but when I met up with her, I had her look at the lyrics, and the part she liked I also ended up liking. It’s the phrase “charcoal night grey” in the opening song. I also like the last two lines of the ending song because they represent the entirety of the game.
What was the most memorable interaction you had with the composer Kosemura-san?
He was professional in that every time, he exceed my expectations in what I wanted conveyed. We also spent about a week together (?) during the recording boot camp for the demo songs, and the time I spent sitting next to him and listening to the same songs was surreal. I couldn’t believe the person sitting next to me wrote the songs that I listened to as a student.
I want readers to like Kisa. A cover illustration filled with strong emotions.
On October 9, 2020 on Twitter, you tweeted, “Makin’ games is hard.” What was it you found difficult?
I was given a lot of decision-making authority as a producer, but since I’m a company outsider, I had a hard time making decisions without seeing the actual situation or making choices in areas where I had no insight. It was a tweet vexed from my inability to understand due to lack of experience. I wish I had more power...
What do you want people to pay attention to when they play the demo version?
I’d like people to pay attention to the fact that the art and script were created by very few people (almost two people), much like an indie game. Something like, “Ishida really drew all these characters!” or “Towada-san really wrote all the script!”...there is more to come in the full version.
You drew the cover illustration for this issue of the magazine, but I’d like to hear more details regarding this.
I drew it while reflecting on how lucky I was, like, “I’m really drawing for the magazine I’ve read since I was a kid...!?” I drew both male and female forms for Kisa, in the hopes that people would come to love the main character.
Please leave a message to your fans and readers who are eagerly awaiting the release of this game.
I made it so that players of all ages and genders can enjoy the game. There is a lot more in store besides just the illustrations. I hope you will play it!
