So I know you headcanon Nami as a lesbian and Luffy as aroaco (both which is heavily agree with!) What are your romance/sexuality headcanons for the other Strawhats?
Hm. I think Zoro is ace, but not aro, but also the only thing he's really in love with is his dream of fulfilling his promise to Kuina, becoming the greatest swordsman in the world. Once he accomplishes that... well, I am not 100% sure he'll survive accomplishing it, actually, I think the story is signaling pretty hard that his moment of transcendence is going to be connected with the moment of his death (the "King of Hell" thing, all the Buddhism imagery, his tendency to find revelations about swordsmanship on the brink of death) but if he does survive it, that's when maybe romance can become a consideration for him. Maybe. That's when he can figure out who he's even into.
Sanji is extremely romantic - hyperromantic, even - but honestly in a way that's... almost totally disconnected from actual romance? He worships women as divine goddesses and sources of extreme aesthetic and emotional joy for him, but he seems to struggle enormously to actually relate to them a lot of the time. He seems more invested in Being A Gentleman Who Loves Women than he does in... actually being in any sort of a realistic relationship with a woman.
Pudding is the closest he comes to forming an actual romantic relationship, and even then, so much of it is ultimately motivated by his romantic fantasy of Being The Prince, of being the noble, self-sacrificing hero who Saves The Girl, of Being A Good Man. Committing to her is, for him, an act of self-sacrifice, for the sake of his crew, for the sake of his family (Zeff and the Baratie, not the Vinsmokes), and for the sake of her more than it is an earnest desire to build a future with a true partner. He's resigning himself to a life of being her perfect domestic husband servant, in worship and adoration of her, but never in partnership.
In an extremely weird way, the vibe I get from Sanji is he's like a... hyperromantic... aromantic? He's EXTREMELY invested in romantic fantasies, but not so much in the actual day-to-day mundanities of romance, he's in love with the idea of being in love, with the experience of being in love, with the thrill and act and performance of being in love, more than he is in love with any actual person?
Partly this comes down to One Piece just not being a romance story - romance is generally sidelined and elided in most situations, and Sanji's romantic obsessions are played for comedy 99% of the time, they are not taken seriously, so he never has an opportunity to really go through the process of romance as a grounded, flesh-and-blood process, but I can only discuss him as he is presented.
Robin, I think, might be the most straightforward of the crew. I am on board with the Frobin agenda, I think she's probably straight and... if not cis, then about as cis as you can be with a power like the Hana Hana no Mi. And I think she genuinely would be very attracted to a loud, dependable eccentric like Franky, as the other half to her quiet dependable eccentric personality. Especially since he is loudly and obviously an extremely decent man with a heart of gold, and Robin carries so much trauma of being a "devil child," I think she probably needs that kind of uncomplicated light of goodness in her life.
Usopp, again, is probably a fairly straightforward sort. The live action gives him a thing for Kaya, but I could see him being bi or pan, but much like Zoro I don't think he's going to quite have the capacity for Romance™ until he fulfils his dream of becoming a great warrior of the sea (he already has, of course, but he needs to internalize it and realize it within himself). I ONE HUNDRED percent believe he might end up taking a Giant for a spouse.
Franky is... okay this makes no sense whatsoever but I feel that he's gay? But also would fall for Robin? ... but in a gay way???
Look I don't know how that works either, it's a vibe it's a brain feeling it's a wibbly wobbly romance gender sort of situation. Franky is clearly in love with the male body, with masculinity, with maleness, and he especially loves building himself into those images of hypermasculinity, but he does in a way that feels hella queer to me. I don't really think you can be a self-made cyborg building his own body without being some flavor of queer-coded, like, I just don't think that that can be a cishet thing anymore.
He would fall for Robin is my point, in part because they share a knack for creating themselves, in part because Robin would appreciate and need him, in part because she would adore his cybernetic self-creation and find it charming and beautiful, and I think he needs someone who will love his creations (including, y'know, his body) as much as he does.
It's like... y'know how Neo and Trinity in the Matrix are clearly, OBVIOUSLY a t4t couple even though they're both technically cis in the text of the story? It's like that with Frobin for me. Yeah, sure, they're both cis and straight, but also they are trans and gay.
Jinbei I have no idea, actually, he could be into absolutely anything. Kind of a gay bear vibe? That's the best I got. Chopper is a child and I don't think he really has any idea yet either, and Brook... look, I don't think you can be THAT level of flamboyant rockstar and not be some flavor of queer. The Soul King wears Elton John outfits half the time. I don't know that he has a sexuality anymore necessarily (he could be ace, what with the having no carnal flesh and all), but if he's not at least bi romantically then nothing about him makes sense.

what do you think about the incestuous relationships in revolutionary girl utena, and the root causes of the abuse? one of my favorite analyses I've read so far talked about how rape and incest aren't deviant, they are an extension of the patriarchal family unit. And do you have any thoughts/analysis about how it specifically manifests in RGU and the way the narrative communicates these themes?
It's so annoying the way some people act like the incest is just regular brother and sister complexes that's common in a lot of anime, and not an integral part of the show's themes about the Family fostering an environment ripe for abuse. The show treats these heavy themes seriously, and I wish I was smart enough to articulate my thoughts about Miki and Kozue, Anthy and Akio, etcetera. Hence, this ask.
Jsjsksks I know I sent an ask just yesterday about Revolutionary Girl Utena, but your analysis is so cohesive, and I really appreciate you bringing family/marriage abolition and amato-normativity into your analysis posts. It's very affirming to me as an aromantic asexual.
thank you so much! i will admit i also have a hard time putting my thoughts about these themes into words, because they are . a lot, so forgive me if this is a little rambl-y. but they are a huge and very important part of the show, so they're important to talk about.
i think i know the analysis you're talking about, and it's spot on. every kind of abuse we see in the show is a product of The System (patriarchy, the school system, the nuclear family, etc.) that's not to say that the abuse isn't purposeful, or that it doesn't often come from people choosing to do harm, but their ability to cause that harm is facilitated by these systems. for example, the system is not forcing akio to do what he does (although it is the reason he knows it will get him what he wants) it is just giving him the tools to do it effectively. abuse does come from people, but the systems are what makes the abuse so effective, and that's why we need to dismantle them.
this is something i've mentioned before, but a big part of why anthy was so trapped in her situation until the end, is because of the expectation to value family above all else, and to always love and forgive them no matter how they hurt us. and that is the reason why incest is so inherently toxic and abusive. it's not that it's "gross and unnatural" (such rhetoric really only serves to hurt and alienate victims anyway) it's that you cannot ever have a healthy relationship in a framework that tells you that you always have to stay with someone, and forgive someone, and love someone, no matter what. it doesn't matter if there's no age gap (seen in the kaoru twins) to create other kinds of power imbalances and it doesn't matter if they're not actually related by blood (seen in nanami thinking touga isn't her "real" brother, and in touga trying to use that against her.)
i've talked about how all this affects utena as well, and how even the state of not having a family makes you vulnerable to it, here.
it's not that siblings (or other family members) are more likely to be abusive people, but when they are, it is a lot harder to escape said abuse. leaving a regular abusive relationship is already incredibly difficult, but if they're you're family, it's even easier to fall into the mindset of "oh, but they really just want the best for me." when you've been taught that family is the most important thing in the world, leaving them is a huge decision. especially if you rely on them for material needs as well, like housing and food (which also happens a lot in romantic relationships and marriages.) there's also the way that with sibling incest in particular, especially if there isn't a big age gap, the victim will often be made to feel complicit in the abuse, either by their abuser or by society at large. like it's something "weird and taboo" that two people are doing together, rather than the abuse it really is.
that last part definitely manifests in the show, with the victim-blaming anthy recieves. from nanami especially. her desire to prove that she's "not like anthy" comes from an understandable place. she's dealing with figuring out that her feelings for her brother weren't what she thought they were, but it ends up with her putting equal amounts of blame on akio and anthy for the abuse she witnessed, even though there is a clear perpetrator (not helped by nanami already disliking and distrusting anthy.) it's clearest, i think, when she refers to them as "those perverted siblings" to utena.
it's funny (it's not) that this kind of thinking even manages to happen in the fandom itself. anthy is obviously not a perfect passive victim, and it's reductive of her character to say so, but the idea that she is as much an active participant in the abuse as akio is, is a take i have seen too many times for comfort. like, congrats, you fell for the exact kind of thinking that the show was trying to critique!

saw a tiktok and wanted to this myself, so…
my mighty med/lab rats/elite force lgbt+ headcanons
(including all the roles i wanted to add, not just the mains)
Kaz:
- Bisexual, very open and casual about it, (Often refers to himself as gay because it comes naturally and the difference isn’t that important to him)
- Cis guy, but he also doesn’t care that much (as in he would wear a skirt or dress, he just doesn’t)
- Doesn’t come out, he just lets people figure it out (“If you don’t know I’m gay yet, that’s on you”)
- Not afraid of getting into yelling matches or fights with homophobes for himself or his friends
Oliver:
- Trans ftm (come on, you guys also watched Oliver Hatches The Eggs, right? They were trying to send us a message!)
- His mom had refused to believe him at first, but when he didn’t stop claiming he was a boy no matter how many specialists and doctors she brought him to, she just accepted it
- She went full ‘you’re a boy’ mode, and he wasn’t allowed to do anything she considered slightly girly at all, (he was just glad she didn’t hate him, but now he’s very afraid of seeming feminine because he thinks people won’t see him as a guy anymore)
- Sits the Elite Force down to come out, but he works himself up about it and is so filled with nerves that he starts crying (the others panic thinking something is seriously wrong)
- Kaz is the only one that knew from before because they’re best friends
- Bonds with Chase about being trans
- Gay with comphet (because of his mother making him believe that was his only choice)
- Because of that, he hasn’t come out as gay (because he doesn’t know he’s gay yet), and sometimes he comes off as slightly homophobic (also due to the fact that he has very fragile masculinity and thinks guys can’t be feminine)
- The others get mad at him, but he doesn’t mean anything bad, his mom just kinda sucked (and it’s hard to shake some of the things she’s told him)
- Very afraid of homophobic and transphobic people, which is why he takes so long to come out to his friends
Skylar:
- Bisexual with a preference for women or lesbian with comphet
- I like her and Oliver so I hc her as ‘Doesn’t really care because it’s not a thing on Caldera’
- Cis girl
Alan:
- Cishet
- Idk what more to say about him
Gus:
- Gender fluid
- Pan maybe? I imagine him swinging every way because he really doesn’t care about gender
Horace:
- Cishet
- Supportive, but very confused about everything (he always uses the wrong labels when talking about someone)
Jordan:
- Cis
- Aromantic (She thinks it’s gross)
Stephanie:
- Cishet (Though she does kind off have a weird thing for Gus so I’m not so sure)
- Will hang out with gay people just because they’re gay so she can seem like a good person
Tecton & Megahertz:
- They’re gay and dating (I think this ship is kinda funny so… it’s canon)
- They’re both cis
Captain Atomic:
- Cishet
- Slightly homophobic
- Also very misogynistic
Chase:
- Trans ftm (the constant joking about his height and how girly he is in lab rats? A Sign.)
- Came out when he was very young, he always knew
- Raised in a basement so you’d think he didn’t know about transphobia for a very long time, but he did, (Mr.Davenport talked to him about it and he researched it thoroughly)
- Bisexual
- Tries to avoid homophobic and transphobic people, and just ignores them, but it doesn’t always work. Sometimes he’ll just take it because he doesn’t want to fight, and it makes the other worry about him a lot
- Other times, Spike comes out and he goes crazy on them, and people leave him alone for a while after that
Bree:
- Lesbian with comp het (she thought she was straight because that’s all she knew, and then she thought she was bi because she liked girls, but then she realized she didn’t like guys)
- Cis girl
- Will verbally kill a homophobe
Adam:
- Everyone assumes he’s straight, because he never came out as anything else (he just doesn’t really care about coming out at all)
- He mentions something about a guy he likes/dated back in high school and everyone is super shocked
- “I thought you guys knew”, - “We thought you were straight!?” - “I never said that either” - “fair enough”
- Cis guy
- He’s not transphobic, and only makes those jokes about chase because he genuinely forgets chase wasn’t born a boy. (Chase thinks that makes him his biggest supporter even if the jokes sting)
- Will beat up anyone that says or does anything mean to his siblings about it
Leo:
- Straight
- He/They (idk if that counts as non binary?)
- Would start fights with homophobes and then realize he’s fucked and needs help
- Got bullied for being gay even if he isn’t, definitely came home after being picked on and trying to hide his injuries from tasha (who notices and calls the school right away)
- Will still start fights with homophobes, now knowing that he can take them
Marcus:
- He’s an android so technically not cis, but he’s a guy (he fucking hates it/its pronouns because he’s not just a machine)
- Aromantic & Asexual (he’s very indifferent to both relationships and sex)
- Doesn’t really do relationships, but if he did, it would be more like his partner in crime (real crime not pranks)
- If he did get an evil sidekick of sorts, he’d probably be gay
- Will claim to have any gender of sexuality if it’ll help him out of anything, no matter how small
- Will also accuse anyone of being homophobic if it helps him in any way (Douglas hates both of these)
- Outing someone is the one thing that he doesn’t do (Douglas is so proud of that one)
- Will start a fight with anyone at any time, and realizes beating someone up for being homophobic won’t get him in trouble sends him on a mission to find every bully at school
- He claims it’s just because he won’t get in trouble, but Douglas knows that deep down he cares (because he does get in trouble at school, just not at home)
Donald:
- I want to say cishet, but trans ftm is calling my name from afar
- Straight and borderline homophobic (he supports the people he knows and cares about, but in itself he thinks homosexuality is wrong)
- Will use his kids sexualities to look even better in media, with no regards for what they feel about it (They hate it)
- Outs people, but also tells his kids he’s proud of them no matter what and supports them, so they’re not very sure what he really thinks
- He’s just weird about it
- Will pretend he didn’t hear the homophobic or transphobic comment toward his kids if it means avoiding a conflict
Tasha:
- Cishet
- Very supportive of everyone
- Calls out homophobes and tries to inform everyone she knows about how important it is to be an ally
- Starts a group with some other moms to show support (the others think it’s a bit much, but she’s just being nice so they let her)
Douglas:
- Bisexual, but evil about it
- Strictly dated other bad guys/villains that he worked with, so most of his relationships sucked and ended badly (see; Krane and Giselle)
- Trans ftm
- Has a lot of kids, but honestly doesn’t know who any of their dads are
- I want Adam, Bree, and Chase to have the same dad, but I also kinda wanna say Adam has a different one, and that Bree and Chase are twins
- Daniel has another dad again, and Douglas realized he couldn’t raise the kid alone, so he had him adopted to keep him safe
- Will piss off a transphobe and run away from the fight
Perry:
- She/They
- Will rip a homophobe to pieces without breaking a sweat (she also knows a guy, so getting rid of any evidence is easy)
…..
and that’s everyone i could think of!

I’m reading someone’s journey through a Chuck Tingle novel for the first time and when they said this:
This book is...surprisingly easy to take seriously as a book. I don’t know what I’m trying to say. But it’s like. A Book and not just an extended joke. Like on some level it’s not particularly terribly written nor does the plot like, completely exist in service to the...whatever humor is derived from the self-aware absurdity of the premise
i yelled because this is EXACTLY what broke my brain too when i picked up my own first tinglers:
Absolutely No Thoughts Of Pounding During My Fun Day With This Kind T-Rex Because I'm Aromantic And Asexual And That's A Wonderfully Valid Way Of Proving Love Is Real
and
Not Pounded In The Butt By My Book "Not Pounded In The Butt By Anything And That's Okay" And That's Okay
the books were such... damn... normal books????? i mean, they’re not normal. they’re chuck tingle novels, but they’re also just... books and it’s impossible to explain the weird fucking liminal space that these things live in

UTMV Sexuality Headcanons
So it’s Pride Month and I’d figured I’d share my headcanons for everyone's’ sexuality. I figured it’d be fun and who knows maybe I’ll do more headcanon posts in the future.
Nightmare - Demiromantic pansexual. I just feel it fits him, he doesn’t really care about gender and love and romantic attraction isn’t really his thing. He thought he was aromantic until he grew close to Killer then was like “shit guess I’m demi.”
Dream - Demiromantic asexual. This is canon and I like it. I do headcanon him to be demi-panromantic and that might actually be canon because I swore I saw that somewhere but now can’t find it. I also headcanon him to be sex favourable, he enjoys it and does seek it out sometimes but he doesn’t experience sexual attraction.
Ink - Aroace. Again this is canon and I like it. I headcanon him to be sex neutral, he really doesn’t care but will do things out of curiosity. He’s in a weird kind of queer-platonic relationship with Error. They do love each other but everything about their relationship is weird since they are just weird people for many other reasons. (I also love that Ink is aroace because I am too and Ink’s one of my favs, although I’d say I was sex averse.)
Error - If asked for his sexuality he’d say he’s probably demiromantic and demisexual. He’s not really one for labels though and doesn’t really care. He’s not experienced any romantic or sexual attraction to anyone other than Ink and he has no interest in anyone else. Haphephobia doesn’t make exploring his sexuality any easier for Error since the thought of touching anyone (other than Ink under the right circumstances) makes him glitch out.
Geno - If asked he’d jokingly say he’s morosexual before saying seriously that he’s very bi with a slight preference for men. He’s very open about it and will fight anyone who is homophobic and/or transphobic.
Reaper - He’s not too sure about his sexuality and he feels he has bigger problems to deal with than figuring it out. He likes Geno and that’s all that matters to him. Although he does think about it from time to time and figures he’s some kind of multisexual. He’ll just tell some people he’s bi and others he’s pan making it very confusing for them if they hear him saying both. He gets a kick out of this because he doesn’t understand why they want to know so badly since it doesn’t matter and he doesn't owe anyone an explanation.
Blue - Panromantic asexual. Not really much to add to this one other than like Dream he’s sex favourable. I also see Blue as a very vocal activist for equal rights for all.
Cross - Bisexual. Again not much to add other than this is canon and I like it.
Ccino - Gay. He’s very much into men. Too bad his first “boyfriend” was just a really bad choice… He also falls in love very easily.
Colour - Bisexual. He doesn’t really have much of a preference but he feels he fits bi more than pan. It’s also just easier to explain that way since people tend to have more questions about pan than bi.
Killer - Bisexual. He loves using his sexuality as an excuse every time Nightmare tells him to sit properly in his chair.  “Killer, don’t sit like that, you'll break the chair and end up with a sore back!” “I can’t; I’m bisexual!” “What you are is an idiot.” He also loves shooting up the peace sign in pictures and proudly announces he’s a peace sign bi. Basically he just loves rolling with the memes.
Dust - Demi-panromantic and demi-pansexual. He really needs to get close to someone before anything can happen. It took him a while to work out since getting close to people is very hard for him, with the ghostly Papyrus and the murderous tendencies.
Horror - He really doesn’t know and doesn’t really care. Like Error he’s not really one for labels. Horror says he’s simply just him. He will use queer if asked and doesn’t want to go into a long speech about it.

I know this has been asked a couple times before and I'm sorry, Kait, you're probably so sick of repeating things you've already been asked and answered ;;
It's about how lately I've been afraid that I might be on the aro/ace spectrum
I'm just scared because since I started playing mysmes I became really attached to Saeran. I love the storyline, I love the romance. But why can't I feel it? I've literally cried over this. I want to feel it so much
It's like my heart is weird and broken and not right.
I can't reciprocate Saeran's love, but I'm desperate to. I love him, but why don't i know what love actually is, or even feels like?
Saeran is so romantic and pure and devoted in his adoration of us.
Ugh I feel like I'm going to cry right now !!
I love romance novels. My favourite genre is romance. But I can't feel.
When Saeran says he loves us, I feel embarrassed. I feel embarrassed because I immediately start to cry. And I drop my face in my hands and just break down because I want to be able to say it back to him. In the same way.
But I don't know it yet. And I'm terrified that I never will.
I don't care about s*x. I'm actually petrified of it (nothing serious, I just have my own reasons haha ;;;) But it's so weird and ridiculous to me that the world is just so obsessed with it now. It just seems like it's wrong nowadays not to want it.
But anyways haha
It's actually just...romance that I would really care about. Just little things that are sweet and loving. That's all I want to feel.
But I can't.
At least not right now. Everyone tells me i should just be patient because I'll find the one eventually, but what if I never do, and what if I never 'can'?
But back to Saeran haha
When I think about myself compared to him, I feel so unhappy. And so guilty.
If he was real and confessed everything to me, I would just feel so awkward. And literally not know what to do.
I have an emotional bond to him and it's strong - and he has an emotional bond to us. But his is that important step further.
And I'm just so unsure and scared that he'd be so disappointed and even annoyed with me
He wants love the way he wants it and it's explained in the game straight out with everybody, that it's romantic
...
In the games he's so pure and lovey dovey
But I seriously think that if Saeran was a real and logical, believable human being
He genuinely wouldn't be able to stick me, or any gf that didn't seem to want to love him back.
Saeraaaaannnn </3 T_T
Saeran is not disappointed with you. He's not upset with you. How could he be angry or saddened by anything you feel? You have no control over this. This is a part of who you are. He wants you to be yourself. He wants you to be happy and content with the person in the mirror that looks back at you every morning. He likes being with you. But, why does that mean it needs to fit some mold created by society? Being with you... hanging out with you... as long as he can stay by your side until the end of time, that's all he wants.
You don't need to be in love with him. You don't need to marry him. You don't need to have [Saeran's Partner] as your official title if you don't want that. Saeran values you for you. Whatever he can have in his life with you... that's what he wants. He loves you, he always has, and you don't need to be in love with him for him to love you the way he does. He loves you for who you are.
You're Aromantic. You deserve respect and compassion for what you feel. You love him. You truly do. You're just not in love with him and it is okay to feel that way. What matters is that you love him dearly as someone that means a lot to you. As you would any friend or family member that means a lot to you. Romantic love is not the end all be all of love. There are many kinds of love in this life, and you're not a lesser person for not feeling romantic love.
I know you're afraid and anxious because you feel insecure and lost at this realization. But, I promise you, Saeran will still care for you and want you in his life no matter who you are. His life won't be lesser for caring about you, either. He wants to be close to you in whatever way he can. His love for you is yearning for something only you can have with him. If that means you have a strong bond that you aren't sure what to label, that's fine. He loves you. But, you don't need to be in love with him to be close to him.
Only you can define your dynamic with Saeran. Don't be afraid of a reality that he doesn't understand. Sit down with him. Talk. Be very honest and clear with him. He won't judge you. He'll listen, he'll learn and he'll do his best. He might have hiccups but he's not going to cry because you're not in love with him. He knows you love him, and that is all he wanted in life. He wanted to be loved by someone enough for them to say he deserved better. Your love for him is enough.
It's perfect just the way it is.

6, 11, 23 from the generic oc asks list for Hemlock and 2, 3, 10 for Penchant in the lilia one mwah <3
kiskiskis
6. What kind of person are they attracted to?
Hmmm this one is hard for Hemlock bc I'm never quite sure if he's aro or just too goddamn busy and stressed to have time to even think about romance. He's definitely not ace, though (he's bisexual questioning aromantic), so just from a sexual point of view, he's attracted to physically fit people. He's very attracted to competence in general, and he WILL get horny for properly done paperwork and well-thought-out procedure. Don't test him.
Romantically, assuming he's not aro or assuming a queerplatonic relationship (either one goes, he has no clue what's going on and neither do I), pretty much the same thing. He also really wants someone who's going to take him seriously and who's willing to separate their time together from his status as a clone and a member of the Coruscant Guard. He's got some serious mental blocks up regarding his "real" life and his romantic/sexual life. He needs so much therapy.
11. What does the most recent text/message/missive that they sent say?
CT-3356/CMO Hemlock to Sergeant Hound: dont even fuckin think about it i will skin you alive
23. Favourite part of their daily routine?
He likes going around the long-term stay ward and doing the morning routine there. It’s very calming for him. Everything’s still quiet and everyone’s waking up and nothing catastrophic has happened yet. He gets to see people at their best, right at the beginning of the day before they can get tired and disheartened. He even gets to pretend the medbay’s ever closed, since the regular, non-long-term medbay is so busy all the time that there’s really no morning opening and evening closing routine.
2.   What do strangers notice about them first?
Appearance-wise, definitely his hair. Since his armor is so dark and he’s usually next to Faie, who has completely black hair, the bleached bits at the top stick out like a beacon aslkdjglkj. He likes to process his hair twice, so the blond is very bright and it draws people’s eyes up to the top of his head.
Personality-wise, they notice how friendly and welcoming he is. No matter what, Penchant has a smile for strangers, and if they’re part of his mission, he’s going to help them however he can.
3.   How does their social personality differ from how they act when they’re alone?
Penchant’s much more outgoing and talkative around other people than he is alone or in a small group. He needs a lot of recharging from doing all that relating to the public and helping and talking and being cheerful.
He’s also a lot more serious one-on-one, and he has a mean streak he tries to hide from other people. There’s a reason he’s so close with Faie. If he was all sunshine and rainbows, they wouldn’t get along.
(He’s also a fucking liar but that’s another post)
10.   What is a weird quality that they have (ie their hands are always cold, they’re always hungry, they snort when they laugh, etc)?
First of all, he absolutely snorts when he laughs. He’s a happy guy! He laughs genuinely, even if it’s not “pretty.”
He’s also that guy who will actually always knock on wood (or idk the space equivalent? knock on plastoid?) when he says it or when he’s afraid he might jinx something. He Has to.

HAPPY PRIDE!! I’ve made ocs based off of a random dynamic I talked about to @artemislosthunter and so i wrote about them! <333
Dynamic:
Mermaid/Siren Oc: I don’t think I experience romantic love like most humans do…
Aromantic human, sipping their coffee: Neither do I
‘Seriously you haven’t gotten a crush before? Even though you literally help people get with their crushes? That’s just strange no offense Rem…’
‘We need to get you a date! No I mean like a romantic date. You seriously haven’t been on a date before?’
‘You just haven’t found the right person for you! There’s gotta be someone out there, I’ll help you score a guy.’
‘You know you spend so much time matchmaking other people, why not yourself? I think you need a boyfriend or hell, a girlfriend! Just someone!’
Remi’s heard it all before. The romantic fling, the whole falling in so deeply in love situation. But she couldn’t get the experience, no matter how much people tried to get her to. She just wasn’t interested. It’s not that she had no love to give.
She had plenty. Just not the kind most seem to yearn for.
Remi spent the majority of her high school days helping her friends get with their crushes. She loved to help people get together! Seeing her friends and other people happy with the people that they loved, it always gave her a warm feeling. But she never had the desire to want what they had.
*There has to be something wrong with me…just has to. Maybe they are right. Maybe I haven’t found the right person yet. What if I’m broken.* Those kinds of thoughts used to fill her mind a lot during the time. But as she grew older, she gradually realized that there was nothing wrong with her at all. Romance can be for many, just not for her. And she was perfectly content with that. She wasn’t broken, never was, she was just Remi.
Mizu sat next to Remi, his head resting on his hand. There was something bothering him. He couldn’t get it off his mind. “Rem darling? Can I ask you something?” He said, swirling his drink around with a straw.
“Yeah what’s up Mizu?” Remi hummed, unwrapping a lollipop. Mizu sighed, taking a sip of his iced drink.
“So as a siren, you understand that my whole deal is I seduce people and then eat them because…food you know?” Mizu asked.
“Yep yep!” Remi plopped the lollipop in her mouth. “That’s kind of hard to forget.” She laughed.
He chuckled, “Well that’s true but you know since I’m blending in as a human, I thought I would perhaps gain more…humane feelings?”
“Expand on ‘humane feelings’ sir, we have a lot of them and so do you.”
Mizu sighed, staring at his drink. “Romance. Don’t get me wrong, many sirens can and do have romance and everything but I never….never felt it. And I just thought, perhaps the reason why I don’t feel romance was because of my blood.” He explained. “Sirens have different morals than humans, we have a different way of doing things but that didn’t stop other sirens from falling in love. So I thought it stopped me.”
Remi listened intently. Though they were a different species, his experience sounded familiar to her.
“Does that make sense? I don’t know if I’m making sense. I thought if I surrounded myself with humans then maybe that would…I don’t know, open a new world for me. Because humans seem to fall in love so easily. But I’ve got nothing. I can’t feel romantic attraction.” He rambled on, one hand playing with the ends of his hair while the other held his cup. “Does that make me…broken?”
Remi took the lollipop out of her mouth, a small sigh escaped from her lips but she smiled. “Nope. It just means you’re in a similar boat as me.” Mizu paused, wait does she mean she felt the same way?
“Pardon?”
“I don’t feel romantic attraction too. It’s not weird, it’s not strange, and it definitely doesn’t make you broken. It just means romance isn’t for you. And that’s okay!” She grinned before biting her lollipop. Mizu momentarily looked at her weirdly for biting the lollipop but he shook his head.
“So…that’s not taboo?” Mizu asked slowly.
She shook her head, “Nah, you’re chill. Some people will say it’s weird, people will say you’re heartless, people will say you haven’t found the one.” She threw the lollipop stick into the trash. “But not having romantic attraction doesn’t make you heartless or weird. They act like you have no love left, when that’s not true at all. They always think romantic love is the only kind of love out there.”
“Also if not liking anyone like that makes you heartless, what does that make ruthless murderers who had like wives or husbands or spouses who ended up dead?” She huffed. “Anyways! What I’m trying to say is that you’re not broken, you’re perfectly okay. And most of all, you’re not alone.” She ruffled his hair.
Mizu looked at her, he felt like he wanted to cry on the spot. His eyes were teary and he couldn’t say anything. *Acceptance* He was accepted. He wasn’t alone. He wasn’t ridiculed. Remi noticed and panicked, she grabbed nearby napkins and held his face.
“Hey hey hey! Don’t cry it’s okay!” She reassured, wiping his tears away. “We’re alright, look at me.” She said with a gentle smile. “Come on, you don’t wanna ruin your makeup right?”
He closed his eyes and laughed while shaking his head. “Apologies, I just was surprised by your words. Haven’t really felt accepted like that in a long time.” He said, grabbing the napkin and dabbing his eyes. “You’re a really good friend Remi. I’m incredibly grateful.” Mizu smiled.
“Don’t worry about it, I’ve got your back.” She hugged him tightly. There was that warm feeling that bloomed into their chests. The feeling of acceptance, the feeling of reassurance, the feeling of love that you share with your friends.

Debunking Arophobia (Part 2)
NOTE: This entire series is dedicated to discussing arophobia and it’s harm - in case this isn’t something you want to see, I’m putting each post in this series underneath a read more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Debunking Arophobia, Part 2/7 - A lot of the issues I've outlined in this part stem directly from amatonormativity. There is an overarching societal belief that you should do everything in your power to pursue a romantic relationship, and part of that belief is that everyone wants one 🙄😢😔 It doesn't acknowledge the legitimacy of an aromantic orientation. So I'm not trying to say that coming out will absolve these problems - nor that this behaviour is really that appropriate for anyone, alloromantic or not! 😅 (seriously, it's ... weird to give people *pressure* to start dating. That's such a personal decision and a boundary that's just not appropriate to cross imho) But being in the closet (or in this case, forcing yourself back into it) does bring a lot of challenges that maybe otherwise wouldn't exist. I'll go into it more in the following parts, but it's alienating to feel like the rest of the world can want something that you don't. I had an inkling of the fact that I was aromantic when I was a teenager, but I really, really didn't want to acknowledge it. I can't even put into words what it feels like to be this "stuck" in a limbo state when you can't acknowledge who you actually are, or what you really want. Even if the rest of the world might still give you this kind of amatonormative pressure after you come out (although in my experience, people are WAY more understanding after you explain and will even rescind those kind of comments), it's even harder when you give it to yourself. Which is why it's so important to accept your own identity/not give pressure to someone else to deny it 💚💚💚
[Image Description:
Slide 1: Celia talks with a mildly unimpressed expression, gesturing out with her hand, “Let’s also consider the following -”
Slide 2: “What if, after hearing this, you decide not to identify as aromantic?”
A guy with dark skin and curly natural hair holds an aromantic flag. He has an uncertain expression on his face.
Slide 3: “Instead, you just stay unlabelled.”
The character now stands in front of a background of various orientations written out with question marks, such as ‘straight?’, ‘bi?’, ‘pan?’, ‘omni?’, poly?’, and ‘achillean?’.
“(Which is definitely okay - you don’t have to label yourself)”
Slide 4: “But it does create a lot of inconveniences -”
A speech bubble emerges from the side, “How about you go out with my friend? She’s really nice, and pretty. When’s the last time you went out on a date, anyway?’”
He seems hesitant, and says “ah, wait-”
Slide 5: “Especially when you do have an inkling of what you know you (don’t) want.”
He walks outside with one of his friends, who puts one hand on his shoulder as she says “come on - it’ll be fun, you’ll like her”. He visibly tenses with an expression of discomfort, and tries to protest again.
Slide 6: “You’re stuck in this weird place, where you “should” want to date other people, or feel this desire for them in a romantic sense.
The guy is now shown sitting typing on his laptop. A little popup indicating his search: “Google: Why can’t I fall in love with anyone?”
Slide 7: The guy is shown being presented with flowers. He says “I’m REALLY sorry, I’m not interested that way-”.
Caption reads: “Maybe you don’t want to date anyone though, and when you choose to remain single ...”
Slide 8: “... people don’t understand.”
The guy is shown walking outside in the background. Two different characters who know him are talking to each other, with snippets of their conversation: “Did you hear about how he turned down - “ “that’s …”. They seem concerned and confused.
“And people like to talk about it.”
Slide 9: Text slide.
“It feels isolating. Why can’t you do the one thing that’s supposed to come easily to you, to everyone?”]

my heathers headcanons
it's the way i see them and draw them, you don't have to agree! this is based on both the musical and the movie
CW: mention of suic*de and e*ting disorders (bulimia) as well as various mental illnesses
Heather Duke
• heather duke is aromantic and yes its because she wears green, have you seen her socks in the off broadway musical? /hj
• more seriously, she IS aromantic but it took some time for her to figure out. she is allo but she doesn't label her sexuality, and she was always confused and frustrated to experience sexual attraction but never romantic attraction; she had a hard time accepting this part of herself.
• post heathers: maybe she discovers about non binary identities and asks her girlfriends to test out they/them pronouns on her? idk? aro-agender duke?
• she also struggles with empathy as she is naturally apathic
• and she's putting this image of a cold mean girl because she believes she can only be that given she's aro and ND
• post musical: she had no idea mcnamara actually tried to commit suic*de and when veronica tells her she breaks down in tears and spend a few days writing an apology letter to mcnamara
• post musical: mcnamara helps her to develop her compassion, knowing it's not her fault she's incapable of empathy. she didn't have to forgive her, but they did, and it really motivates duke to become a better person and be as nice as her
• post musical: she sees a doctor! she eventually recovers from her bulimia. veronica and mac are 100% supportive of her recovery, and very proud
• she gets bigger as part of her recovery and learns to embrace it
• duke is very pale with really dark and thick hair and eyebrows, soft features and quite a lot of body hair
• you know the bootleg where duke has blonde hair? when she's on the tv she speaks german and i vibe with german duke now
• duke Cannot say fuck and if someone is prude/innocent/idk it's her. the why are you pulling my dick was just to fluster veronica i think
Heather McNamara
• they use she/they pronouns!! just because. she still identifies as a girl though
• mac is autistic of course, it's like semi canon in the musical
• since she's very tall (movie) she stims while standing like being on the tip of her toes or rocking back and forth and the others can be quite annoyed because she moves a lot but they never snap at her
• post musical: veronica finds her stimming endearing and they know it's safe to stim around her, especially since veronica stims herself
• post musical: mac hums as a stim too and you can often find macnamawyer snuggling on the floor while humming in harmonies together
• she used to mask a LOT and it played a big part in her depression. she knows they had to stop themselves from stimming when she was a heather, she had been the weird kid in middle school but now that chandler took her under her wing, she has to pretend to be NT in order to stay in the lifeboat (😭)
• she's a lesbian!! of course she is
• she knows it since she is in middle school and has been """gal pals"""" with chandler since them but she still struggles with it she has comphet yk, but still less than chandler
• chanamara definitely practiced kissing together "to be ready when we'll have to kiss boys" 👀👀👀
• chandler always had a soft spot for mac and tried to hide it by being cruel to duke
• post musical: it took mac some time to understand that duke had nothing against her personally. she was chill with them until chandler died. from that moment she had to prove herself as the new queen bee and mac was a collateral victim
• duke definetely gave her trauma though and mac is in the process of trusting her again
• mac themselves is not a cinnamon roll just yet and she still has to make up for what they've done to others
• mcnamara has nicknames like mcNcheese or macaroni (veronica came up with those)
• they're also a vegetarian and she loves yellow food
• like she ever only eats yellow food actually (autistic thing). that girl is deficient! part of why she looks that fragile and thin
• also i see mcnamara as mixed race with golden/light brown skin and they have this type of curly curly hair but she straightens it all the time so it's only just wavy (once again, to blend in with the heathers)
• her natural hair colour is actually a dark strawberry blonde? her dad is irish and he's a redhead that's why (stole this from @cam-eats-candles hehe) but she dyes it so it's lighter
• post musical: she starts wearing her natural hair!! and goes with her mom to the afro hairdresser to start to get her curls done right (cornrows mac!!)
• their parents divorced (movie) and it's for the best. mac has daddy issues and only goes to her dad to get cute jewellery for their girlfriends 💖 (he doesn't just sell engagement rings. a lot of regular expensive rings, really)
• she's not a baby, she's not weak nor completely innocent and pure!! the girl is a head cheerleader, she's strong and flexible as hell.
Heather Chandler
• heather chandler is Also a lesbian BUT she is on the ace spectrum like demisexual? so yeah she's double disgusted when she "sleeps" with men
• as a queen bee she's also convinced that the only way to exist is through male validation :(
• chandler is taller than duke and veronica but shorter than mac
• chandler's skin is like rosy and it freckles very easily. i see her with the same cloudylike hair she has in the movie, dark blonde, with the red scrunchie only holding back some of her hair
• she is Buff and is genuinely into sports (lesbian jock like regina george)
• she has a sharp hourglass shape her shoulders are broad and her legs long and strong. she could lift veronica against a wall easily. and she did
Veronica Sawyer
• ADHD!! she's been diagnosed for a while but only became medicated post musical
• bisexual!! so bisexual!! without a preference. she's always been open and proud about it and her parents are supportive
• for me veronica is brown, with thick and dark hair and dark brown eyes, midsize, average height
Martha Dunnstock
• that's canon i know, but she's fat, and not the socially acceptable-hourglass kind of fat. big arms! big tummy! double chin! (i see fanart of her just being chubby quite often and it's ANNOYING like that's a big part of her character)
• she's perfectly healthy like this as are many fat people :))
• i also like the hc that her attempt at sewer slide made her permanently disabled and that she keeps using a wheelchair! because it happens, it's important to show it, and it gives me a lot of ideas for cute kindergarten girlfriends prompts 💓💓
• of course realistically being fat AND physically disabled in the 80's was and is not an easy thing to go through but it's in my head so
• she's also a tiny bit taller than veronica
• i don't hate the outfit she wears in the off broadway show, but I like her west end outfit better!! it's a lot more 80's inspired and i totally see her in kidcore/clowncore etc, even if pastels are cool too
• in the current west end version, martha is played by a black woman and she looks amazing! however I've been drawing and imagining martha as east/south east asian, for no reason really?? also idk kinda rubs me the wrong way that in the more official versions of heathers it's always duke that is black, or martha? not the others? hmm
• i'm not comfortable with hcs that exclusively babyfy her or patronise her like a bunny rabbit just bc she's a fat outcast who likes unicorns!! she's not just cute and giggly! martha can and does swear and she Fucks, like mcnamara
• big round glasses + big nose + long brown hair
• taking inspiration from the princess bride line but she's a huge movie nerd. yes she loves happy endings but she also loves horror movies, as long as they have a happy ending
• she never gets a makeover omg y'all just hate people with glasses and a childish aesthetic istg
• she takes this aesthetic further though and
• post musical and high school: she doesn't just wear baggy clothes anymore as she only did that to prevent more bullying. she develops an unique style with a lot of pink and glitter and she's awesome
------
ok this is getting long ill probably do more!! tell me what you think <3

ANY WAY THE WIND BLOWS: Simon Snow trilogy wrapped! (review)
Hi, there! It took me a while to finish this post, as I could talk about it for... a long time (not necessarily a good thing), but I got it! I like praise, so if anyone wants to tell me I did a good job... Also, I might edit this post later on. I don’t remember anything else I’d like to add, but I wouldn’t be surprised if I did after posting. My brain does not obey me. Anyways, off to it! By the way, I won’t give this book a real rating.
While this is a review on Any Way the Wind Blows, I intend on analysing some points of the overall series too. The book starts where Wayward Son left off, the end of the road trip, Simon and Baz having problems in their relationship, Penelope helping Shepard with his curse... and the whole situation of the NowNext vampires. Rainbow Rowell only seems to remember the first part. That leaves us with the second book of the series ignored almost completely, with the exception of Simon and Baz’s feelings as well as Shepard’s existence.
Don’t get me wrong, aspects of the book are mentioned, but never in a truly important way. Lamb, the Vampire King, is mentioned by Simon, but only focusing on his and Baz’s relationship, never about the fact that there are a bunch of vampires (supposedly ‘evil’) in the U.S. but I guess what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right? I could count on one hand the times the NowNext vampires were mentioned (like, literally, this isn’t an exaggeration, I looked up ‘NowNext’ on the e-book and only got five results), all of them either being one of them considering telling someone else about it, then not following through with it, or dismissing it as a concern for Lamb. Which makes the plot of Wayward Son completely useless for the trilogy. Now, that wouldn’t matter as much if everything else had been properly developed, but we definitely can’t say that.
We are introduced to a brand new, poorly developed villain, Smith-Smith Richards, whose character arc is as ridiculous as his name. He’s one of the fake Chosen Ones that started appearing after the events of Carry On (and the only one to be mentioned and/or defeated, for that matter). It becomes clear that presenting as Simon Snow-ish is part of his brand, especially when Baz describes him as looking like the Netflix adaptation version of Simon, and that he was raised and guided by his uncle, who’s just... there. I don’t think it would’ve been hard to make him manipulating Smith-Smith into believing he’s the prophetic savior of the Magickal World, which would not only make both of their characters more interesting, but it could also serve as a parallel of Simon’s relationship with the Mage. Richards also has some special powers such as increasing a mage’s magic for a limited amount of time, but taking it away afterwards, as well as making someone immune from spells. It’s worth saying those aren’t skills that are usual in the Magickal World, or else there wouldn’t be so much confusion and shock from people (specially Baz and Penny, who would definitely have heard of something like this before), but we get no explanation on why or how Richard has them.
Then, we have the Salisbury’s. We, as readers, already know Lucy and Davy are Simon’s parents, making Ruth his grandmother. It’s noticeable that Rowell builds up to that discovery, by making Simon get along with Ruth instantly, him thinking about Lucy a lot etc. It makes us excited to read the part where they actually figure it out, to know how Simon would deal with that, him dealing with the fact that he’s the Mage’s son and the fact that, technically, he killed his father. I suppose that’s the point, but actually getting to that part was incredibly underwhelming. The way they discovered about Simon—being able to lift a family sword—hadn’t been mentioned or hinted at before. One would’ve expected Simon, who’s particularly interested in swords as it’s mentioned many times throughout the series, to notice a freaking Excalibur at the Salisbury’s place before.
And speaking of noticing things: when it’s finally revealed that Simon is Lucy’s son and the Mage’s heir, Baz pointed out the uncanny similarities between his boyfriend and the deceased Watford principal. “Those narrow eyes. That tilt of his head. I thought... I thought he’d learned it. Was imitating it.” + “Merlin, Simon, you even look like him.”  (Any Way the Wind Blows, chapter 86) Simon was the Mage’s protégé for years and I assume the Magickal authorities knew that he was the one to inherit all of his money and personal belongings, but no one, in the whole British Magickal community, thought about them being related? I refuse to believe there were no conspiracy theorist teachers at Watford or that Mitali or even the Pitch’s alongside everyone who was against the Mage didn’t at least check to know if there was something behind those characteristics. Baz literally said (chapter 88), “I think it’s undeniable. I’d cast ‘Flesh and blood’ on them, but it would bounce right off of Snow (...)”, so there is a spell for that. Plus, we didn’t even have one whole chapter of Simon dealing with this information! The chapters (no more than five, out of ninety-one) were divided between Simon, Baz and Lady Ruth’s POVs. He’s the main character, so one would think he’d get more development.
Another point that felt rushed was the romance. While Simon and Baz’s relationship wasn’t, as it’s been a topic Rowell has explored for three books (we’re not counting Fangirl here, as their ‘participation’ on it was minor and their personalities weren’t as consistent as in the trilogy. Not that it is that consistent there), the others just felt like she wanted everyone to finish the trilogy with a pair. I’ll start with Shepard and Penny. There were fans who liked them together before Any Way the Wind Blows, but it wasn’t hinted at—it was more like a fandom thing. I personally like them as a couple, but it could have had development and, maybe, foreshadowing in Wayward Son. I mean, they did fight monsters during a huge part of a road trip together.
The next one I’ll talk about is Agatha and Niamh. I love them, don’t get me wrong. Actually, it’s precisely because I love them that I wish they’d gotten a better treatment. Niamh wasn’t introduced before Any Way the Wind Blows. I get why she wasn’t introduced in Carry On—it was interesting to see a character who wasn’t caught up in Simon and Baz’s drama during the school years—but a hint of her existence could’ve been left in Wayward Son. Agatha is an important character on it, and a mention of her father training an aspiring veterinary could’ve fit somewhere, as a hint, maybe. (Also, Lucy, the dog, being absolutely forgotten during this book when a lot of Agatha’s time is spent in a veterinary clinic...) Besides, we could get the vibes from them, but after they kissed, there was barely any content. We didn’t get them calling each other ‘girlfriend’ (or if they even like that label at this point), or the aftermath of the kiss, or a POV from Niamh. Or Niamh appearing the epilogue? If Agatha was taking care of the goats, I’m sure Niamh would have a part in that too. Still on Agatha’s character, but not on Niamh’s, it felt like Rainbow Rowell was setting up for aromantic and asexual Agatha, specially because of this quote: “It was like she'd pulled the feeling right out of my heart. I could have kissed her. (I still wish sometimes that I wanted to.) (That would feel like an answer to... the question of me. Then I could say, 'Oh, thats who I am. That's why I've been so confused.')” (Wayward Son, chapter 4).
And I was leaving the best (I need to be sure everyone knows I mean this sarcastically) of the romance topic for the end: Fiona and Nicodemus. It’s just... so forced and undeveloped. Not even because, to me, they’re both gay as hell. There was just... such a lack of development! I don’t think we had any interaction between the both of them before Any Way the Wind Blows. There was no foreshadowing or why would Fiona, a vampire hunter from a family of vampire hunters, would marry... a vampire! I’d already find it weird to see fanfiction of them as a crackship, but it’s canon?! Like, canon as in they’re going to get married and use Fiona and Natasha’s mother’s ring? Seriously, nothing will take from me that this is a lavender marriage (as I’ve already discussed with my best friend, which inspired this post of theirs.)
I’d also like to speak about a topic that’d been hinted throughout the series, especially post-Carry On, which is the criticism towards the Magickal Community in the U.K.. That criticism is very much embodied in Shepard’s character. It’s explicitly said that the British mages have some kind of supremacy towards other supernatural beings, such as vampires for example, gatekeeping literal magic. Up until relatively recently, mages with weak links with magic couldn’t attend Watford (and that’s a major plot point in the final book) and there’s a denial towards any other kind of magic except the ones that are part of their craft. Even within the Magickal community itself, there are more important families that are more likely to succeed, like Natasha receiving criticism for marrying Malcolm, as a Pitch. It felt pointless not to tackle the issues you’ve set up yourself in your own universe. Penelope has very strict morals related to magickal law and beliefs, something that she could’ve deconstructed, especially considering Shepard, her love interest, symbolises that. Another point related to that is, the trilogy is very clearly heavily inspired by Harry Potter, where many of those points are very clear (e.g. wizard supremacy in relation to other species, such as werewolves and domestic elves and the status quo that makes some traditionally magical families more influential than others, like the Malfoy’s vs. the Weasley’s), so it’s not an easily forgettable concept.
The series also had a lot of inconsistencies. The one I’ve seen talked about more often is Simon and Agatha’s... intimacy status, let’s call it that. Simon’s whole thing in the first book was that he struggled controlling his magic when experiencing intense emotions, which makes it hard to believe that he managed to have sex withount an... accident. Besides that, though, there’s this quote, “She (...) presses a kiss into my temple. No one has ever kissed me there. No one has ever kissed me anywhere but on my mouth” (Carry On, Chapter 27), but in Any Way the Wind Blows, when Simon’s about to have his wings cut, Agatha says, “It’s a strange feeling to look at someone’s chest and know it’s nothing to do with you anymore, but still to remember kissing every inch.” (Chapter 14)
So, we have established that Rainbow Rowell’s work, both character and plot driven, is flawed. “But we got the characters interacting for the closure of the series, at least!” Well... we got interactions between the canon romantic relationships, yeah. But besides that, we didn’t get much. There were no interactions between Agatha and Penny, or Shepard with Simon and Baz. Or Penny and her mother figuring stuff out. Or literally anyone with a therapist. And not gonna lie, the interaction we got between Baz and Dev was underwhelming, to say the least. Niall is nowhere to be seen, too.
Rainbow Rowell’s writing is beautiful: she writes poetic lines that make the book seem perfect at first glance, if you don’t think about it for too long. Her words are very shiny, but once you get use to that light and see what’s behind them, what’s between one shiny quote and another, it has so many flaws and plot holes that it reads like a first draft. There are many concepts in there that are genuinely good: the rest of the trilogy focused on the protagonist dealing with the trauma of being a child soldier instead of being entirely an adventure, Simon being unlabelled, a fake Chosen One that gives mages fake hope... Those are all good ideas, but so poorly explored that, despite being an entire book/trilogy, it still feels like a writing pitch or something among those lines.
I felt iffy about other things during my reading of the series, but they aren’t exactly plot points, so I’ll just list them below:
Mitali, Penny’s mom, including ‘discovering your bisexuality’ as a mid-life crisis thing
As I’ve seen people talking about biphobia/bi erasure in the books, I’ll be including this post that features both unlabelled and bisexual individuals talking about the topic (it isn’t my place, as a lesbian, to talk about this, that’s why I decided not to do so.)
Romanticising of Baz’s suicide (a.k.a. chapter 61) in the first book. If you’re not in a good place mentally, like I was when I first read Carry On, I hope you know that a kiss or romance doesn’t help any mental illness you or others might have. Don’t let anyone use your guilt to manipulate you. Paraphrasing Alice Oseman in their graphic novel Heartstopper, love can’t cure a mental illness.
Any Way the Wind Blows was... very horny. I can’t point out how this makes the book bad exactly, but it wasn’t something I enjoyed. One of Rainbow Rowell’s strongest skills is that her quotes, when loose, are good. They tend to be poetic and just beautiful, overall. But in the... explicit scenes, these skills were barely used, and I felt like I was reading NSFW tweets off of someone’s private account on Twitter. Besides, the first two books of the series weren’t written like that, so the change was very sudden.
The older people could’ve been more explored. Penelope and Mitali’s relationship and how similar the both of them are compared to each other, Daphne and Professor Bunce’s insecurities and why they believed in Smith-Smith, Fiona, Nico, and Ebb... Also, the Mage and Lucy. We could’ve had more on them, y’know.
The pop culture references. They made the book read even more like Twitter’s feed. Honestly, if I wanted to read prompts and nice ship content alongside memes from Twitter with some horny thoughts sprinkled all around, I would’ve opened the Twitter app. Or Tumblr, Instagram, whatever.
The POV switching felt lazy to me at times. It’s nice to know how different characters are experiencing that situation, yes, but sometimes, like during the discovery that Simon is a Salisbury, it read as if Rowell wanted to create tension, but couldn’t think of any other way to do it except the switching around.
Narrative wise, I think Simon and Baz should’ve spent more time broken up.

undertale/deltarune for the fandom thing!!!!
Aaaaa thank you for the ask!! :]
Undertale The first character I first fell in love with: Asriel!! I’m a big fan of the “kid who gets superpowers and uses them just like a kid would” trope when done right. He’s still one of my favourite boss battles! The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Chara! They canonically appear what, once? In the no mercy route? So it doesn’t really make sense why I love them as much as I do...but I do. I’m a sucker for Narrator!Chara what can I say The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Mettaton. I don’t hate him, I’m just not crazy about him. The character I love that everyone else hates: Chara again! I think they’re more popular nowadays, but when I first got into the fandom they were still the eeeevil monster who forced Frisk to kill everyone. I always hated that :/ The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Toriel to a degree? I still like her, but after replaying Undertale recently and hearing her line about how she thinks Asgore should have just killed ONE child and then crossed the barrier to obtain the remaining human souls....yikes?? I get where she’s coming from, but unpopular opinion: She was VERY unfair to Asgore. Sure Toriel he’ll just cross the barrier like his children did, you know, the children that died.  The character I would totally smooch: Nappstablook because how could I NOT The character I’d want to be like: I don’t think I want to be like any of these people The character I’d slap: Asgore but gently A pairing that I love: Platonic Chara/Asriel! I don’t think I seriously ship anyone in Undertale tbh A pairing that I despise: PAPYTON. Sorry Papyton shippers I just find it hard to get on board with ships where the two characters never interact, and honestly I just don’t see what the appeal is. Also I’m a staunch believer in aromantic!Papyrus :]
Deltarune The first character I first fell in love with: Ralsei!!! He’s just so sweet and adorable while still being interesting, I want to know more about who he is and his relation to Asriel...and I want his plushie SO BAD The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: I absolutely detested Berdly when I first saw him, but now he’s one of my favourites. He’s just a funny little gamer man with transmasc swag The character everyone else loves that I don’t: Spamton. I like him plenty, but not enough to put up with the entire deltarune tag being overrun by him!!! The character I love that everyone else hates: Berdly!! I hate when people say he’s transphobic/homophobic when it’s canon that there’s nothing wrong with him he’s just annoying. The character I used to love but don’t any longer: Aw man...Noelle. SUPER unpopular opinion: I don’t particularly care for Susie/Noelle. I almost feel like when Noelle is around Susie, everything she does becomes singularly about Susie and it kind of smothers the rest of her personality and relationships? I think I’ll like them more when/if Noelle becomes more confident around her so that their personalities can bounce off each other in a more fun and interesting way. The character I would totally smooch: Ralsei platonically :] The character I’d want to be like: I want the same vibes as Roulx Kaard even though I probably shouldn’t The character I’d slap: King I don’t CARE if your son is a squishy little pumpkin you cannot throw him off a roof A pairing that I love: Platonic Noelle/Berdly, I really want to see more of their friendship!! Berdly is kind of weird, but he obviously cares about Noelle a lot. A pairing that I despise: Kris X Ralsei is the BANE of my existence. It’s obvious that Ralsei has SOME relation to Asriel, Kris’ brother, so it makes me super uncomfortable when people say things like “Oh I hope Ralsei isn’t Kris’ brother so I can ship them!!!” its so gross.

Thank u for showing interest in this guys /gen @agendercryptidlev @doublebubbletriplethreat @evilsciencedotcom
ok its a little. long so i'll put it in a read more
Evidence #1: The series literally starts off with him mocking a romantic couple and not taking them that seriously as his clients and also he was constantly just making fun of their aesthetic appeal (their. their looks). It's clear that he doesn't see their relationship seriously.
Evidence #2: Although not all aromantic people are aplatonic, Reigen seems to be aplatonic in a way that he doesn't actively seek for platonic relationships and bonds with others out of genuine "wanting to know someone else more and be friends with them" and instead is more focused on his own work. Even his mentor-student relationship with Mob started out with Mob being the one to actively seek someone to help him with controlling his powers better. Reigen doesn't go around looking for people to befriend, but instead he just kind of knows Mob's friends Through Mob. Even Serizawa who he recruited was mainly cuz Serizawa protected him first. This is literally a big part of the Seperation Arc, Reigen was always way too focused on becoming someone great that he rarely paid attention to other people as potential friends unless the relationship has some kind of potential benefit for him. This doesn't mean he doesn't care about his relationships with others of course, he /really/ does, but his genuine kindness is usually still at least partially motivated by wanting to be somebody (who can help and inspire others).
Tl;dr: I don't think he's a loser for all his friends technically being middle schoolers it's just easier to have some kind of friendship with others if you have a mutual close friend to help it all work out ( a.k.a Mob) Also like its. Okay to not have friends. Sometimes you just wanna vibe with all these teenagers that you can be a mentor figure/good adult figure for them. Just some weird bastard uncle or older sibling / dad whatever
Evidence #3: His lack of experience in navigating romantic relationships. He's pretty sure the last time he dated was like, way back in high school or something right? (im not sure on this either tbh) And he really didn't seem interested when his mom talked abt setting him up with someone (which is not always a sign that someone is aromantic but really I don't think Reigen has thought about marriage, like, ever. Unless it's for tax benefits.)
Evidence #4: His go to relationship/confessing advice being something simple like "just communicate your feelings well" or "play hard to get" like he's not even trying to sound like an expert 😭😭 also when Mob was asking his advice on this matter he literally just read off of google and if that isn't one of the biggest aro moods I don't know what is.
Evidence #5: He has never been shown really "flirting" with anyone. If he has to play up his charisma when talking to clients well then so be it. He's really casual and professional about it too (by it I'm saying sensual massages or whatever the fuck he does....)
Evidence #6: Too busy thinking about how to get money to think about spending them all on dates with women or men or something
Evidence #7: This one is also what started the ace Reigen headcanons but the line "Is having a crush always related to sex? I don't really wanna talk to you about it." (Based Reigen btw)
Evidence #8: Honestly most of these "evidence" is just my own read of him and like. my own interpretation of course but. theres just something so Aro about a generally popular guy in his 30s not having a partner or a romantic relationship and he seems fulfilled and like, satisfied with that. I'm sure he really doesn't care about getting married. He's got Mob, Serizawa, Dimple, Tome, Teru, Ritsu (albeit reluctantly), he's got his emotional support friends/co-workers/people who genuinely care about him and look up to him because of his genuine kindness and pretty solid advice. He's got it all. Just some normal guy surrounded by espers and one evil spirit and also someone very similar to him personality wise (as some kind of daughter figure). It's neat.
Also I thought abt Ekuserirei QPR but at the same time I have a hard time visualizing Reigen in like. an Actual committed relationship with other people. I'm just kinda here man. But also Ekuserirei is genuinely such a fun dynamic so. yeah
Anyway thats my big brain thoughts on Reigen Aromanticism. all hcs are valid and if you disagree with me you can just, do whatever you want just not argue on my post thats just basic human decency ok thats all <3 💚💚 thank u for reading this far and have a good day everyone!! :]

Being Otis’ sibling would include:
Tumblr media
AN// Spoilers for whole show. Also, sorry, this one I kind of ran with? Hope you like it :))
You are a bit on the socially awkward side like your brother.
However, you’re more of an introvert; you let the world go around you and be a background extra rather than be a main in it’s story.
You’re more closed off, more defensive than your brother.
Your opposite on a lot of things, but balance each other out.
Your creative, he’s more academic
It’s mainly just the two of you and Eric. Best pals.
You, like him, are knowledgeable on sex, from your mother, even if you aren’t into that (the sex part or the other part)
Your mother always could tell with you, and assured you there was nothing wrong with it:
“Y/N, darling, you know there is nothing wrong with not wanting those type of relationships, right?”
“…Thanks, mum.”
Although it isn’t spoken, you both hold resentment for your father.
When Otis is picked as Adam’s partner, he gives you a panicked look. You, however, shrug; what can you do?
You are paired with Maeve, which is something that does annoy your brother:
“Trade?” He asks
“What? No. I’m not trading Maeve for Adam.”
“Y/N.” He pleads in a whining tune.
“Sorry, mate. Good luck though.” You wish him, leaving to follow Maeve.
For some reason, she gets the idea she can trust you and allows you to go to her house, knowing that Adam and Otis will not be a good pairing.
“If you tell anyone about this, I’ll kill you, got it?” Part of her is kind of silently laughing at your scared face. You are quick to assure her this secret stays with you, to the grave.
As you talk, and do find out you have a few things in common.
Of course, you both don’t tell each other everything. But you get a decent reading on each other.
She can tell that, compared to your brother, you’re holding a lot more in.
“How is it?” She asks
“How’s what?”
“Being siblings with him?”
“Otis?” She nods
“It’s nice, knowing you have someone that kind having your back, you know? You can cock up horribly and he’ll still be there. He’s loyal.” You answer.
She considers it, “Not many of those people left.”
“Not as many as I’d like.”
Fair to be said, when you come in happy, and actually almost getting along with Maeve, Otis isn’t the most happy about this.
When the news about your mum comes out, you and him both storm out.
That leads to an argument;
“Why couldn’t we swap?” He asks
“You think it would’ve fixed anything?”
“I don’t know?! Just…”
Maeve is quick to stop your arguing, she knows how bad sibling arguments can get.
When it comes to Adam, you and your brother play rock, paper, scissors to see who it’ll be.
You win, doing the nerdy fist pump as he has to do it.
You see Maeve roll her eyes at your antics.
So, with Maeve bringing in clients, Otis doing the talking, and you doing the PR (in a way) the clinic is born.
However, there is a point of contention between you and your brother; Maeve.
He see’s that you both are genuine friends, with you going out more and more at night.
“Where have you been?” He asks you, whenever you come in (after your mum has asked you of course. Your honest with her)
“To see a mate.”
“What mate?”
“I have other friends, Otis.”
“I know, Y/N. It’s just –”
“You think I’m,” Cough, “Doing…that, with Maeve, don’t you?”
“Wha—No?!”
“It’s ok, Otis. I get that you like her and all. But, just to assure you, no, we’re not together. We are just genuinely friends.”
“Oh…right.”
He seems happy for you, but you can tell there is a bit of jealousy.
However, you don’t hold it against him. You understand that he has feelings for Maeve, and do support him with it.
However, Maeve can read you well, so you try and be careful when you bring up your brother.
When the party at Aimee’s happens, you try and drum up business as well.
You get split up from the group, desperately escaping to the outside, only to see your mother outside:
“Mum?”
“Oh, Y/N, darling, hello.”
“What are you doing here?”
“Oh, just in the area.”
“…You were spying on us, weren’t you?” You accuse her.
“I – yes, darling, I was. I’ve already had this talk with your brother.”
Being in a house of constant sex therapy, and being the way you are (asexual, aromantic) can be a bit of a contradiction of times.
For example, when Otis has his wet dream, the topic does make you a bit uncomfortable.
Maeve calls you, asking you tom meet her. She tells you a time and tells you to get there on-time.
And you do, you go to the clinic just as she goes into the room. You get yelled at by the protesters, but you walk it off.
“Don’t you care about the poor child living in there?”
“At this stage? To be honest, more about the woman.” You’re honest, but not horrible to them about it.
You come in your casual clothes, just sit there and wait.
Otis joins you, flowers in hand and wearing a suit.
“Oh, bloody hell, you thought it was a date, didn’t you?”
“…Maybe.”
“Classy first date.”
“Piss off.”
When Maeve comes out, you both great her and walk with her.
She texts you later: Maybe your brother is not so bad, after all.
Otis comes to you about the whole Jackson thing:
“I can sabotage him.”
“Seriously?”
“Of course I am, Y/N. I need your help –”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! I’m not the talking guy, you are.”
“Yeah, but your more convincing.”
“No.”
“Please.”
“No.”
“I’ll give you the money he’s given to me and that I can’t seem to bloody lose.”
“But I thought you wanted to give –”
“I can’t lose it, Y/N! I’d rather not stare at it.”
“Then don’t?”
“Take it?”
“No, you take it.”
However, you do see how it ends, and do feel for your brother.
As much as you may not have supported his methods, you could see why he did it.
You both find out what happens to Eric, and both take the blame for it.
“Seriously, Y/N, you too? You’d rather pick this girl you’ve known for a few weeks at best over me?”
“It’s not like that –”
“Then what is it like?!” Words are exchanged, and he leaves.
However, then you meet Ola and Jakob.
Ola’s nice; friendly, sincere. You like her.
“So, you’re Y/N.” She says as a greeting, shaking your hand.
“That is I, madam.” She laughs at it.
You become good friends fairly quicky. But, she respects your boundaries about the past.
You see how close your mum is getting to Jakob, and it just doesn’t sit right with you.
So, you call Maeve. She’s quick to answer:
“Pisshead?”
“Hey, uh – can…can we talk?” She detects the tremble in your voice.
“Where are you? What’s wrong?”
“I can’t really tell you over the phone.” You tell her to meet you at the bridge.
She meets you there quite quickly:
“You want to tell me what’s going on?”
You take a breath to collect yourself, “My mum’s met this new guy…” So, you tell her about how your mother seeing someone new feels off to you. And you confess to her that you don’t know what the fuck is going on with Otis and Ola. She just lets you ramble the whole time.
At the end, she grabs your hands in hers, “Have you told Otis any of this?” She asks, softly.
“…No. No, not yet, anyway. He’s got his own issues and –”
“You have needs too, Y/N. You can’t go running around for him, forever. He’s your brother, a good one, he’ll listen. But…I’m here too.” She vows.
“Maybe he can give me a freebee on a session?” You joking say.
“Yeah, have to pay, of course, but I can slide you in for a meeting.” She fired back in the same manner.
“Thanks, Maeve.”
She hugs you, not saying anything.
Then the dance comes around.
Starts off well enough, you say hi to all your friends.
You and Otis both make up with Eric. It’s nice to have your best mates back.
Then you both save Liam, both convincing him not to jump.
You, however, see that Maeve looks at your brother differently. You always hated that “friends don’t look at each other like that” bollocks. But, you see that she has it read all over her face as well.
Then Jackson talks about what Otis did.
You get out just at the end of their confrontation, and Maeve turns to you in anger:
“Did you know?”
“Maeve –”
“Did you know?”
You go to speak, but Otis speaks for you;
“Y/N had nothing to do with it. It was just me, Maeve.”
She just looks at you, waiting and watching for something to confirm the words are a lie.
However, when she see’s that nothing has happened, she accepts it and storms off.
Now you’re in an awkward situation; between your brother and a close friend of yours.
Both parties don’t want you to be forced to choose, so they leave you out of it.
However, there is a bonding moment with you and your brother; mainly learning about the book your mother was written on you both. Well, more Otis, but there is a chapter on you.
That’s when it all just explodes:
“You can’t just do that, mum!”
“Can’t do what, darling?”
“Can’t just – can’t just put our entire lives in that bloody book! You gonna mention dad? You gonna mention how you make your other child feel uncomfortable with all the sex talk? How the world wants them to conform to some fucking normality, but they can’t because they just don’t feel that way?”
Your mother can do nothing but watch as you breakdown in front of her, how it all comes bubbling to the surface.
Time goes on, however. And you start going to therapy sessions in school.
Maeve contacts you every so often, but you don’t really reply too much.
Your brother and Ola help you as much as they can, helping you get up in the mornings and including you if they go out for something.
Ola and you become closer friends as well, despite the weirdness of your mum dating her dad.
You bring that up to your therapist a lot.
The two (especially Otis) support you during this time. They encourage the therapy and talking to them when needed.
When school restarts, Otis keeps a close eye on you, knowing that you burned yourself out last time, and he won’t let it happen again.
When Maeve comes back, he makes sure to point it out, hoping that can help in some way:
“You seen Maeve’s back?” He asks, as he gets some books from his locker.
“Sure.” You answer, almost apathetically.
Eric sits with you on breaks and when Otis can’t be there, doing what he can.
Otis ignores the tension between himself and Maeve when he pulls her aside one day:
“You have English next with Y/N, right?” He asks her.
“Yeah.” She answers, already being able to tell where this is going.
“Can you –”
“Of course I’m going to keep an eye on him.” She finishes for him (ha)
And she lives up to that promise, doing just that as you write some things down whilst not listening.
When the teacher gets pissy at you, she stands up for you:
“Sir, Y/N is going through something, lay off.”
Otis thanks her for that after the lesson
Then you are off on the trip with your father Remi
You both find out the real reason for the trip. That he was using it as a way to get away from a newly broken up relationship and to find another.
Then comes the party.
You, in your state that has (sadly) been declining, drink till your hearts content. Eric and Rahim try to warn you, but you keep going.
You brother also spirals. Although, out of the two, you are way more wasted.
Ola arrives, and she is pissed. You haven’t exactly been keeping up with affairs.
You vomit in the sink, with your brother drunkenly trying to help you by patting your back, but he only ends up falling over.
It’s Eric who helps you.
Then he does his speech; in it, he includes you as he rambles (apparently being “on a roll”)
“And then there’s my sibling, Y/N. They’ve been struggling for a while, guys, and has anyone noticed? No, but I have, because I’m a good brother. So, even if I can’t have those two (Maeve and Ola) than at least I have, Y/N.”
The next day, before leaving with Ruby, he remembers parts of what he said, but to him it’s a blur:
“Y/N, I’m so sorry.”
“So, what? I’m just a second fiddle to them?”
“No, of course not. You’re my sibling, Y/N. That comes before anything. I was drunk, and pissed at them. I didn’t mean to leave you out or make you feel that way.”
The day out with Ruby actually helps your bond repair, as you both go back to old times; doing the weirdest shit together. In this case, helping a girl Otis had sex with.
Still, Ruby comes around to liking the two of you.
You both go to your father, united as one.
You both confront him on the pain he’s brought you, and how it hurt you both and how you both carried a part of the blame.
He’s quick to try to dissuade you, but you both move on.
However, you see that your brother has a revelation. He calls Maeve to explain it.
Then, he goes with you to therapy.
Despite it all, despite the things you could and do say to each other. Despite the way you both are different in many ways, you’ll always come back home.
You both care about each other. You’ve been through a lot.
You have each other. And, sometimes, that’s enough.

What is Love?
cw: none // ships: platonic (?) intrulogical, background queer-platonic demus // summary: remus and logan try to figure out the difference between romantic and platonic feelings. // notes: remus uses he/vae and roman is bigender // please don’t like without reblogging, reblogs are much more helpful and encouraging
———
“Remus?”
Remus looks up from his desk to the doorway, where vaer name has been called. Standing there is Logan. He’s dressed in a large blue hoodie and sweatpants with his hair pulled back in a headband and ponytail, instead of his usual attire.
“Hey Lo!” Remus says with a smile. Vae twirl in the office chair he’s in, waving towards himself. “C’mon in, don’t be a stranger!”
Logan stands for another moment, cautious, but then moves into the room, shutting the burn-covered door behind him.
“Hugs okay?” Remus asks. Logan shakes his head, still lingering near the door. “Okay, no problem! Come sit down, what’s on your mind?”
Logan sits on Remus’ bed, leg bouncing as soon as he sits. He stares blankly ahead for a moment and then speaks.
“What is love?”
“Baby don’t hurt me,” Remus sings with a laugh. Logan smiles a bit at that. “Nah but seriously, uh, in general? Or is there a more specific question?” Vae know sometimes Logan will be trying to say something specific but ends up saying something more general while trying to gather his thoughts.
“Well,” he pauses, trying to think of how to phrase his question. “I know, generally, what love is. It is an intense or deep affection for someone you care about. But there’s many kinds. The Greeks words for love are agape, eros, philia, storge, philautia, and xenia, but what’s used now is platonic, romantic, queer-platonic, and familial.”
Logan pauses, and Remus nods to him, so he continues. “Familial and platonic I understand. Familial is love between family, and platonic is love between friends. But I don’t understand queer-platonic or romantic.”
“Ohh okay!” Remus says, understanding the question now. “Uh, shouldn’t you be asking Roman about this? He’s a lot more- “
“She day,” Logan corrects.
“She’s a lot more knowledgeable on romance, y’know? She’d probably be able to explain it better than me.”
“Well, that may be true, but even if you know less, we understand each other more than Roman and I. I’ll understand more of what you explain compared to Roman explaining it.”
“That makes sense,” Remus hums. “Well, queer-platonic’s probably gonna be easier for me to explain because of me and Snakey, so we’ll start there.”
Remus gets up and starts pacing in front of Logan. Moving around helps vaem get vaer thoughts in order.
“Okay so queer-platonic love is sort of a blurred mid line between platonic and romantic. It’s not romantic love and it’s not platonic. It’s stronger than what people traditionally consider platonic, like some qpps want to get married! And that’s not a traditionally platonic thing. It was started by aromantic people, but anyone can use it.
“It’s also, like, subjective I guess? Like Jan and I, we totally could have stuck with labeling our relationship platonic! Because really, queer-platonic is a thing because society has really weird specifications for what should be romantic and platonic. We just use the label because it kinda makes more sense? It’s-, ugh.”
Remus plummets backwards, landing on the floor on his back.
“Okay maybe it’s not easier. I’m sorry Lo, but it’s really weird to explain. Hell, I don’t really get it! Like, romantic feelings are supposed to be so much stronger than platonic, and you’re not supposed to want to kiss and cuddle and that shit with friends, but it doesn’t make sense why!”
“See, that’s my problem!” Logan exclaims from the bed. “How is the strength between friends different than between partners? Where’s the figurative line between close friends and partners? How do you differentiate between romantic and platonic?”
The pair are silent for a moment, taking in the thoughts.
“Romance is such a weird fucking concept,” Remus sighs, sitting up on the floor. Logan nods.
“I wouldn’t typically word it that way, but I agree,” Logan says. “I also may be romance repulsed.”
“Like on the aro spectrum?” Remus asks.
“I’m not sure,” Logan responds, flopping sideways to lay on Remus’ bed. “I just know that standard romantic things, like flirting and kissing, ‘lovey-dovey stuff’,” He does air quotes. “are repulsive to me.”
That’s valid!” Remus replies. Vae get up and sits at the foot of the bed. “Y’know, I blame this on Disney.”
Logan’s silent, then snorts and laughs. Remus giggles at Logan’s reaction.
“Seriously!” Vae say through giggles. “Romance was a marketing scheme by Disney to sell shit!”
Logan cackles, shoving Remus with his foot. They both laugh for a minute, happy in each other’s company.
When his laughter dies down to breathless giggles, Logan sits up next to Remus and takes vaer hand.
“Love is a very confusing and strange concept, to both of us it seems.” Remus nods. “Nonetheless…I love you Remus. Romantic or platonic or whatever, it doesn’t matter. I care about you very, very much and you’re very important to me. I’m glad to have you in my life.”
Remus gives him a sharp toothed grin and grips his hand a little tighter. “Love you too Lolo. Now, you wanna watch a movie?”
“Hm, documentary?”
“True crime documentary?”
“Deal.”
