First list of accepted ships!

Hello everyone, I am sharing the list of the 8 ships that have been accepted into the tournament so far, there will be other 56 ships accepted, that I will publish in seven other lists, three will be out today, the other four until tomorrow or the day after that!

Do you ever just get so sick of straight ships being the norm???

what's your favorite ship and why? Not limited to any particular fandom

hi! thank you for the ask :)

at any given point in time I usually have a few different favourite ships at once, so I'll give you the most relevant ones from right now:

Beta/Milu: because they're baby and cute and deserve happiness, and Milu seems like the best match for Beta. and I really want Beta to be happy and enjoy life after everything she's been through. plus Beta could definitely help Milu with some science related to helping the Utaru, I'm sure.

Ikrie/Yarra: because I thought about it for two seconds once, and mentioned it to @tjerra14 and was met with nothing but support, so now there's two story ideas floating around.

with this one I'll explain more thoroughly (bc I talked about Beta/Milu a little more recently). thing is.. there's no way in hell Ikrie would have stayed in The Cut considering even Aratak made the journey. so I hc her being at the final battle in HZD and then moving West with Talanah and Milu, and possibly making her way across the mountain bc she's Ikrie and mountains are where she grew up, so the invisible plot barrier would not keep her out of Tenakth territory if she thought Aloy might have come through.

tjerra and I hc her then making her journey towards Scalding Spear and stumbling upon Meat in the clasps of a certain group of Rebel Bandits and saving Meat, but not getting away unscathed, and Yarra then being alerted to her presence. ANYWAY all that to give the setup. (the other story idea involved a lot more birds and puns)

the reason I think they would be well matched is that Yarra is just as dedicated to her people's ways as Mailen was, which is sth Ikrie could certainly understand, but we see later on that she is also willing to change and admit when her ways may cause more harm than good, so: matched in ferocity, bonding over Yarra's pet companion and just overall a fun dynamic imho. I JUST THINK THEY'RE NEAT

Nanno/Yuri: would be my third fave atm, mostly bc the whole enemies to lovers dynamic can be fun, especially where the supernatural is involved. and I love a good you kill me I kill you back dynamic every now and then. so there's that

#Beta + Milu + Ikrie + Yarra are from Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West and Nanno + Yuri are from Girl From Nowhere #I hope this is acceptable. I have more ships I care for but I didn't want the list to be endless #suffice to say I also enjoy the occasional Ava/Beatrice and Aloy/Ikrie. love to love Aloy/Talanah #I multiship always.#if we're talking old faves I'd have to go with Bering and Wells as well as Cara/Kahlan and obviously the ones I've written fic for #also Root and Shaw. Seven of Nine/Janeway. Robin/Nancy. Wednesday/Enid. just.. so many.#but yeah. I have my ao3 bookmarks (FIC REC) linked on tumblr for a reason. just.. don't judge me too hard. I have an eclectic taste

I am perpetually one bad take away from writing and posting a pages-long rant about why portraying Kamet and Marin’s relationship as childish or unimportant or comphet or not based on a strong emotional connection makes no sense at all given the information available from the text itself

#like. it would have been SO MUCH more acceptable for both of them not to pursue this relationship #sometimes i see a line in a fanfic that makes me want to write a critical essay in response about how wrong the author is #obviously I would never do that. i simply move on and say ‘this story is not for me’#but I have started keeping a list so I don’t surprise myself the next time I’m rereading stuff in the k/c tag #and sometimes I name-search m before starting the story lol #usually she’s not mentioned and it’s fine! she doesn’t need to be!#she’s literally not there in the book! you don’t need to treat her like a canon gf getting in the way of a slash ship!#dismissing their relationship as trivial is just gratuitous!#fandom musings #elizabeth beware

Top Five... Len'en Ships!

...I'm just gonna sort these into categories by vibe because I don't have a definite ranking (somehow even less than usual). Here are the ships I tend to fixate on:

Favorite Rivals ship: KuroTsuba, ditto. These two are so weird, confusing, and befitting of this month, gay. Kuroji's obsession with Tsubakura is utterly hilarious, and I like seeing them bicker.

Favorite "Like a Married Couple" ship: YaoSuku. These two are so cute and silly. I like watching this silly haniwa parent this grumpy old snake (with sword attachment issues), not to mention their character development is very sweet. Also, I love how they bicker (mainly on "how" to go about the thingy) lol.

Favorite Story Potential Ship: For some baffling reason, KuroSara. I don't even know why. I guess I just like their fighting and the character development potential if given it. Or maybe I focused so hard I found it weirdly endearing? I don't even know lol. (More a BroTP here than anything though; I don't see them in a very strong romantic context, unlike all the others that are either or.)

Favorite Rarepair: JunSara. Everyone has a rarepair, and this one is mine. They've never even talked, but it's still here lol. I think I just over thought like I tended to, and now here we are lol. Both can make it rain, and are frequent targets of bullying, so maybe that can go somewhere? Something I guess lol.

Favorite Tsuba Ship (that isn't already on this list): YaoTsuba. I just find the flirting angle funny lol. Also, Orochin is just fun to tease like that. So why not? It's also probably a rare pair, but I've seen more fanwork done for it than JunSara, so I'm putting it here lol.

...And those are my top 5 ship picks! That aren't really a top 5, but there are 5 here so I say it counts!

Ok?….and what does that change? ShigaDeku is still no better than BakuDeku in terms of being non-abusive and immoral, because he still tried to kill him(which actually I think was more than once 🤔) it being just “once” doesn’t mean squat! He still tried to kill Izuku, and he’s still a mass murderer(which is worse than a bully by the way) and a literal adult but hey at least he only tried to kill the other half of your ship once! Gosh I…gaaaah I just wish if people liked controversial ships, or ships that are not exactly morally ok or whatever, you’d accept it instead of making bogus defences for it!

Update: “Sure shig tried to kill izu when he was out of his mind (war arc sucks for many reasons), But even so guess who told Izu is useless and should kill himself? Yep, Bakugou.” Is their response to me telling another ShigaDeku shipper that well Shigaraki tried to kill him! And once again I think “and?….still doesn’t change anything your ship is just as immoral and abusive as BKDK”! And yet they ignore canon, so maybe it was pointless arguing. Because they’ve expressed ignoring canon, which canon would tell them that it was more than once Shigaraki was not out of his mind like he was in the war arc/and as of present during those times! First time being the USJ, second time being in the mall(which actually technically he wasn’t trying to kill him there but he sure as hell would have if Izuku called for help) where he’s literally strangling him and he’s expressed enough times wanting him dead. Let’s not forget he literally had him on a priority to kill list!
