I love this guy’s work. ~JD This painting from Norman Rockwell was in his FOUR FREEDOMS SERIES (1943) Rockwell was a prolific Patriotic American artist. In his lifetime he painted over 4,000 original works. Most of his works were created as cover illustrations of The Saturday Evening Post and the Look magazines of everyday life in small town…

One more inspirational message from Bill. No matter what your belief system or how you define it, your personal inspiration comes only from within yourself. And what you believe, whatever it may be, is the catalyst for what you create.
I love Bill, because he is passionate about expressing his love, which comes from his creative source, and he’s not afraid to share it.

SC So you curated the show for the de Menils in Houston, called The De Luxe Show. How did you decide who you were going to show? I remember you called me up and you wanted me to write the catalogue essay. That’s how I met Clement Greenberg.
PB I looked for anyone who was painting and making good, hard abstraction. When I say the word “hard,” I mean artists who were making abstract art and who had suffered to make it; living in poverty and so forth—black and white artists alike.
SC Mm hmm.
PB I felt in order for it to be relevant in the arts society there had to be some master painters or prominent people in Color Field painting—abstract painters. Let’s put it that way.

This man…. Found magic in a blank canvas.
He found a smile, in his heart and mind, to give to his art, and clearly, the art, and the universe, smiled and gave back.
He, is a fantastic example, of having an almighty spirit that he shared with all who were open to his experience and his passion for painting. 💝🖼️ 🎨
