Speed Racer

“You don’t climb into a T-180 to be a driver. You do it because you’re driven.”

This is such a fun and brightly colored movie that also deals with pretty deep concepts and had me going “oh you’re in this too?!” for like every other person. If you need a Reason (beside fun!) to watch it, I think it’s a fun experiment with new special effects tech from the late ‘00s.

It’s been over 15 years, are we still doing cult classic?

How are Speed's family and friends?

Sparky is very hurt by Speed, and just wants to be friends again, but also holds a strong grudge against him for leaving without a word.

Trixie is upset and has tried to move on, but it's difficult for her. However, she's living pretty well off and doesn't have much to complain about other than missing Speed.

Pops is very bitter about it, But that's just pops.

Mom is worried for her son and wants him to come home and get better, but in the end, she says it's up to him.

Spritle misses his big brother, but there's not a lot he can do, so he just tries to keep going with his life, feeling pretty sad as.. well, basically an Only Child.

Rex/Racer X is extremely worried for his little brother, but doesn't intervene or anything, as he has other things he needs to deal with.
