i was inspired by this gorgeous portrait of Saeed Asiaban by Dominik Zky on instagram, as well as the revised version of “Prince of Peace” by Akiane Kramarik (one of my favorite depictions of Jesus).
Saeed’s eyes are so striking, it made me think of the Lord. scripture says that Jesus wasn’t extremely handsome so people weren’t drawn to His beauty. but i feel that the most beautiful people are the ones that you can see the love and care in their eyes. and while i’m fairly sure His were brown (being a Middle Eastern Jew), i wanted to showcase creation in His eyes. the blues and greens that represent life and renewal, and the love He holds for every living being.
there are not many who can say they would die for those they love and truly mean it. and yet, “God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” (Romans 5:8) no one has made the sacrifice for your whole life, to give you a new life, as He did. He is coming soon, turn to Him and believe while there is still time.
“I tell you the truth, those who listen to My message and believe in God who sent me (Jesus) have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.” (John 5:24)
