When I was calming down I told him “Okay!” (Our release word) and he looked up at me very concerned, reluctantly got up, left the room for approximately 3 seconds, and pranced back in with his bone to take up residence in my lap again for more dpt, “just to be safe, mom” as his eyebrows told me 😂 I’ll probably do a proper update soon as a bunch has happened in the last few weeks/months but for now, I needed to get all this out and “on paper” so to speak. Today we had a patch of sunshine at work! We had dog training earlier and Sif was so good. My trainer made food and put it on a low table, and Sif left it alone as we walked around the table. She stayed by my side while I sat at the table even with an insane amount of distractions. We were told that we’re going to start training for our Public Access test at the end of July. I have been a fan from the very beginning, you definitely helped me more than words can even explain during middle school and high school bullying. I also struggled with self harm for a while when I was younger but now I am almost two whole years clean! Clean means a lot to me because of that, and I cry every time. Not to mention Mean, Tied Together with a Smile, A Place in This World, Change..... literally the list goes on FOREVER with how many special songs I have from you that have helped change my life. Growing up and adventuring into “adulthood” has been no easy task that’s for sure, but I’ve adored having you and your words of wisdom by my side every step of the way! This is my first ever concert I’ve been able to see because growing up my family couldn’t ever afford it, but now I’m spending allllllll my money (I should probably be saving or adulting somehow but????) to finally come see you! I celebrated my 21st birthday in June by being sick, soooo I’m kind of coming to celebrate late with you!!!! 

Ruby is trained to help me, lets say fight off the dragons of the real world. She’s a psychiatric and light mobility service dog (in case you were curious) that helps with my anxiety, ptsd, and chronic pain. She also knows all the words to every one of your songs, but unfortunately I haven’t trained her to sing them yet, hah. 

SO I know I’m not super popular in the swiftie fandom on Tumblr or any of that however I just wanted to put this message out to the universe in hopes that maybe it will make its way back to you. The heartwarming story of Nick Bailey and his German Shepherd Service Dog, Abel: Nick Bailey is an Iraq war veteran who served for 12.5 years. Bailey was seriously injured on duty. One of his biggest comforts has been his faithful friend, Abel. Nick approached organizations who claimed to help veterans to train service animals. These organizations were deceptive and lacked results. An 8-year old girl volunteered to raise funds for Abel's training by starting a lemonade stand. The lemonade stand received attention and support and helped to bring awareness to Nick’s goals. Nick and his wife went through many trainers, who did not produce results, and in some cases made Abel worse. “Your Dog Guru” from previous YouTube videos and their master trainer, Jimi Livshitz, arranged an evaluation. Nick and Abel booked a flight to Arizona, and Abel stayed for 5 months for rehabilitation and training. This is the face of the sweet girl who has started tasking almost all the time.
