What do you think each of the merc’s favorite internet-things are? Do you think Demo would like cat videos?
HOOO BOY!
I love this question. Well, since the tf2 takes place in the 60's and 70's way before the internet these guys are going to lose their collective minds. :)
enjoy~
~~~~~~~~
Sniper:
Sniper enjoys watching nature documentaries. The way that the voice of the narrator and the music blends well with what's happening on screen is mesmerizing. He likes how the documentaries show a variety of different animal species. Once in a while he will watch the news, but he will quickly grow bored and return to watching the nature channel.
Soldier:
Ever the full bodied American, he will look up everything. He doesn't understand what's happening or what's going on; but he likes it. He will watch ancient alien's episodes on loop and claim that he was there for the whole event. Talking about the "good old days". He really enjoys watching wrestling matches on YouTube.
Scout:
He loves how everything is so accessible at the push of his fingers. His most favorite internet thing is watching fail videos. He'll watch someone try to do a back flip off a cliff into some water and he will immediately want to try to do that. he will go on and on about how he can do that ten times better than the guy in the video. He is bluffing and everyone can tell. He tries his luck on various websites to find "true love." Makes Tik Toks during free time.
Spy:
Spy loves looking into the private lives of celebrities. Even though they are dramatized and possibly made up, it makes him feel better to be in sync with what the current generation likes. He really like watching classical old movies with a good meaning. His guilty pleasure is watching Downton Abbey. He will go out of his way to pick a good bottle of wine, a good quality of cigar and sit down and watch an episode or two.
Heavy:
Heavy loves watching anything as long as it has a good story. He will mostly hand around Facebook and connect with the older generation and talk about different philosophical views. He loves the connection that the internet brings. He is greatly confused as to why Scout is trying to meet girls on Facebook though.
Medic:
He loves searching the dark web for organs, most of the time he forgets to clear his browsing data. He thinks that most medical shows are stupid and grossly inferior to his medical skills. He does use reddit to ask questions that he deems important to his work. The people who respond to his questions think he is joking...oh how wrong they are.
Pyro:
Watches cartoons. He already has a subscription to Disney+. He likes Bluey the best. But any episode that says that fires are dangerous, or the main characters go camping and douse the fire all hell breaks loose. Safe to say, that he creators of the show are no longer safe.
Demoman:
He loves watching anything to do with alcohol. Sometimes he'll watch the YouTube Channel Modern Rouge for hours on end. He swears up and down that he gets good ideas from the channel for bomb ideas...but he just really likes watching the two goof off. It reminds him of the good old days with the BLU Soldier.
Engineer:
He will join Demo when watching the Modern Rouge. Most of the time he watches videos on how to build certain devices or watch programming videos. He loves how complicated machinery has become since the 60's/70's. Wonders why TikTok ads pop up in the middle of the videos he was watching. He quickly finds out a way to ensure that adds won't disturb his valuable screen time.
some before-and-after pictures of how I’ve been using AI generated images in my art lately 🤖
I share other artists’ concerns about the unethical nature of the theft going on in the training data of AI art algorithms, so I refuse to spend any money on them or to consider the images generated by them to be true art, but I’m curious to hear people’s thoughts on using it for reference and paint-over like this?
my hope is that with proper regulation and more ethical use, AI could be a beneficial tool to help artists - instead of a way that allows people to steal from us more easily.
The fact that board games have existed as long (or longer) as the concept or writing… humans really invented a market economy and went wait what’re we supposed to do now if we’re not constantly working to subsist to survive. This is super boring actually. We gotta think of some shit to pass the time.
Also you know there were probably older people complaining about how young people are all lazy now and all they care about is playing with their silly glass beads and squares on squares. Back in their day they didn’t even have wheel turned pottery, etc
Defenders of Ukraine Showed How They Use Czech Howitzers DANA - Technology Org
Artillery is still a very important part of modern warfare. Especially self-propelled howitzers that can quickly react to the movement of enemy forces. The defenders of Ukraine showed how they successfully attacked a column of Russian armoured vehicles with Czech self-propelled howitzers DANA.
A short video showing the actions of the defenders of Ukraine was released by the Commander of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Pavlyuk. He did not reveal where the operation took place or when the video was taken but it involved the 21st and 56th Mechanised Brigades of Ukraine.
“Enemy infantry, TOS-1A Solntsepyok, a tank and a BMP with soldiers were destroyed,” Pavlyuk wrote. The TOS-1A is a multiple launch rocket system, sometimes called a heavy flamethrower due to its thermobaric rounds. It is a particularly hated weapon by the Ukrainians and the most expensive weapon mentioned by Pavlyuk.
This attack was carried out by drones and Czech howitzers DANA. If you want to be precise, the DANA is not a Czech, but a Czechoslovakian howitzer, which is reflected in its 152.4 mm calibre, typical of Eastern Bloc countries. However, Ukraine received these howitzers from the Czech Republic, which is one of Ukraine’s strongest military supporters.
The DANA howitzer was created around 1976 and entered service in 1981. It is a large artillery piece mounted on a Tatra 8×8 chassis. Weighing around 30 tonnes, this weapon is said to be capable of reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h and performs very well off-road. This is important because howitzers like the DANA are often on a quick-fire mission and retreat so that the enemy can’t calculate their location using counter-battery radars. DANA howitzers usually participate in shoot-and-scoot operations.
DANA’s internal ammunition compartment holds 60 rounds. More can be delivered using other machines. This howitzer destroys targets at a distance of up to 20 km and its rate of fire is 2-5 shots per minute. In addition to the main gun, the DANA also has a 12.7 mm machine gun, mainly needed for self-defence in case it is ambushed while on the move from one position to another. The crew of the DANA howitzer consists of 5 soldiers.
In 2021, a modernized version of DANA M2 with improved fire control and communication systems was introduced. DANA actually became the basis of several modern self-propelled howitzers. For example, the 155 mm Zuzana and DITA are close relatives of the DANA howitzer. Ukraine is still waiting for its DITAs, but soon it will be operating pretty much all versions of DANA.
The DANA is a quick and reliable howitzer. It can deliver quick blows to the advancing Russian forces and then retreat. Ukraine will need more of these kinds of weapons in the near future and it’s good to know that they are coming.
