Hi hi! I found this from a loose page of writing abt 4 yrs ago when I was on a Mitchell X Connor spiral because of hands cupping sparklers (still one of my fav feel good fics). I have no idea where the rest of the writing went but figured I'd share:

"I'm an idiot," Mitchell breathes out when it suddenly comes together like puzzle pieces in the right places at last. How did he not see this before? "I'm so stupid-"

"No, you're not," Connor interrupts, an oddly serious look on his face. "You-you might be a little oblivious, I won't deny that, but you're not stupid, Mitchell. You're one of the smartest people I know."

"Then you've clearly never met the Athena cabin," he quips back, but everything in him is melting like chocolate in the sun.

Connor grins at him, cheeky and boyish, and oh, Mitchell thinks, I love this boy.

Hey Rosy, somewhat of a difficult “question”. I live in a smaller country in Europe, where things are getting very difficult. We’re considered a 1st world country, but I digress. My mom has a pretty good high-paying job, still only middle-class, so I was fortunate enough to grow without anything missing, although there were no luxuries and almost no traveling, etc. But, if we felt like eating out on a friday afternoon, we would, for example. Eventually I went to live with my boyfriend at a rented house, and we considered ourselves lucky to have that rent at that time, because prices were already spiking. We were able to maintain a normal lifestyle, no big excesses but we could pay for everything, spend some money on our hobbies, and still save by the end of the month. We even went on a big vacation, although my mom helped a bit there. Fast forward to now and we bought a house, after some insistence from my mom, and because it really was the best thing to do: the house we were in was without contract and price of everything was still raising like crazy. Who knew if we’d stay at the house next month or the landlord would double the rent or kick us out? So, we got ourselves a nice apartment, SUPER EXPENSIVE, but we got it. It absolutely drained us, especially my mom and grandma who paid for the full 10% entrance, otherwise we couldn’t buy it. Rent now, as in, payment to the bank, has been very high, and in June it will be even higher. I don’t think any of us had any idea of how ridiculously expensive everything is now, but we’re having a difficult time, mentally, paying for everything. I have a minimum wage job as I can’t find anything better even with my degree, and my bf gets paid a bit more but is also taxed more, so I ended up bringing more home than him. We have been able to pay for everything, but it’s been impossible to save even if 20€. We finished last month with 5€ in our accounts, and this is because my mom helps us a lot and does most of the grocery shopping. With so much stress, I’ve already went to the hospital with a nervous gastritis, which made me miss work and the cut on my salary was HUGE. I can’t help but feel even more stressed, knowing it’s being hard now and that in June it will get worse. Sometimes I even regret buying this apartment. It’s not even the fact that I can’t do anything else besides paying bills, it’s the fact that buying a 10€ book after 3 months of spending 0 money on anything else but bills and rent might make us not be able to pay the bills for this month, and how guilty I’d feel for that. I’ve been working my butt off, even doing some side jobs, and we still can’t save even if 10€. I feel like I’m living on auto pilot, and I know that, unfortunately, this is how millions of people live. I’m just looking for ways to cope.

I am familiar with this struggle. It's definitely hard, no matter where you live in the world right now. I'm not sure anywhere is stable. I don't feel the us is stable either. Expenses keep going up and wages... aren't.

So there are three different ways you can handle this struggle, I think. Or rather. Three different elements.

Cut expenses. (money going out.) It sounds like you've already done that. But you might want to look into some things you're spending money on that you aren't using. Like streaming subscriptions, or a cheaper phone/internet plan. Renegotiate some of your current bills. Who knows? It might work. Or you might want to buy groceries in bulk or generic instead of brand name. I actually think you SHOULD still allow room for small pleasures, like your book, and cut back on expenses you wouldn't even notice, like brand names, if you can.

Increase income. (money coming in.) I know I know. Your jobs don't pay enough. You can't find a better job. I get that. If that's the case, ok. I understand. Find other ways to bring money in. A job on the weekend. Seasonal work. Freelancing. Monetize a hobby. Maybe even selling some of your stuff. Or stuff you get from thrift stores. Yard sales or internet sales or consignment. Maybe a roommate if you have a guest room. A roommate can offer a lot of relief on that rent stress.

Decrease anxiety. My friend. I know not having money is stressful. It makes you afraid. But. BUT. It's just money. Money is a temporary problem. It flows in and it flows out and sometimes there will be more coming in and sometimes there will be more going out. You are making yourself sick over it. Literally. Think back to some previous times in your life when you were short on funds and realize how you got through it. And how when you got through it, the anxiety went away. Because it's just temporary. It's just money. Find ways to enjoy your life REGARDLESS of money. Stop thinking you can't enjoy your life. If that book is too expensive, go to a used book store. Or trade with your friends. Join a collective. Look online for places where people are giving away free or discounted things. Go to free shows and festivals. Visit the beach or parks to decompress. Find outlets that don't cost money. Romanticize the life you have instead of the life the media wants to sell you.

I am giving this advice based on my life in the states, of course. I don't know what's available to you in your country, so I can only offer suggestions that I know of in this country. I do know that there are freelance jobs paying US dollars that you can work from wherever you are. When I worked for a ghostwriting company, a lot of the other freelancers were in other countries. Maybe you could find some sort of freelance side job using your degree. Maybe you can also get some assistance from your government-- but again I don't know what would be available in your country.

But let yourself breathe. It sucks not having money, I know, but once you figure out some ways to juggle income and expenses, there will be breathing room again.

In the bustling underworld of Hell, where demons and overlords roamed freely and the souls of the damned wander, there existed a peculiar yet charming figure known as Alastor, the infamous Radio Demon. With his toothy grin, a penchant for chaos and macabre humor, he was a force not to be trifled with. Except by one.

Amidst his devilish and intimidating face, there lay a side and secrets only known to one other: Rosie, a fellow overlord and Alastor’s best and one of few friends. Rosie was well-acquainted with the inner workings of Alastor's mind, particularly his peculiar fascination with a certain dead mortal soul named Y/N. Y/N was unlike any other sinner, with a charm that transcended the boundaries of Hell itself. She had caught Alastor's attention with her old fashioned wit and grace, though he dared not confess his infatuation with the cannibal town resident.

Little did Alastor know, his affections were not as clandestine as he believed. With mischief gleaming in her eyes, Rosie concocted a devious plan to bring the two together.Rosie, with her sharp wit and mischievous nature, saw an opportunity for amusement. She knew of Y/N's fondness for tea and gossip, often indulging in such pastimes with Rosie herself.

One evening, as the flames danced in the infernal sky, Rosie extended an invitation to both Y/N and Alastor for a tea gathering at her lavish abode. Unbeknownst to Y/N, Rosie had already informed Alastor of the rendezvous, igniting a spark of excitement within the Radio Demon's heart.

As Y/N arrived, her presence brought a sense of warmth to the dimly lit room. She greeted Rosie with a warm smile, unaware of the scheming glint in her friend's eyes. Alastor, ever the gentleman, tipped his hat in acknowledgment, his crimson eyes alight with hidden desire at the more free flowing attire his secret paramore was wearing.

The tea flowed freely as conversation drifted from trivial matters to the depths of the underworld. Rosie, with her quick wit, subtly steered the discussion towards matters of the heart, all the while casting knowing glances at Alastor. The Radio Demon, though adept at masking his emotions, felt a tinge of unease stir within him. He knew what Rosie was playing at and was thankful for the oblivious nature of his crush.

As the evening progressed, Rosie's playful banter grew more pronounced, her words laced with feigned flirtation directed at Y/N. Alastor, unable to contain his jealousy any longer, felt the inferno of emotions raging within him. With a sharp inhale, he rose from his seat, his gaze locking onto Y/N's. Rosie, with her devilish grin, played her part to perfection. She engaged Y/N in playful banter, leaning in a tad too close, and fluttering her lashes in feigned innocence. Alastor, observing from the sidelines with a mix of amusement and jealousy, felt his heartstrings tug tighter with each passing moment.

As Rosie's antics escalated, to actually near caress and Y/N embracing her friend back - Alastor's patience wore thin. Unable to contain his emotions any longer, he stepped forward, his presence commanding the attention of both Rosie and Y/N. With a flourish of his cane, he rose and coughed loudly.

“Pardon me ladies, may I borrow you for a moment Y/N? I wish to discuss something outside.”

“Oh..of course Alastor. One moment Rosie.”

Placing their cup down on the side table, Y/N rose and followed Alastor down a long hallway till he stopped abruptly.

In a moment of recklessness born from desperation, Alastor pinned Y/N against the nearby wall - encasing them between his arms as closed the distance between them in a swift motion, his lips capturing Y/N's in a fervent kiss. The room fell silent as time seemed to stand still, the air thick with anticipation.

After the kiss, Y/N's heart raced with a mixture of surprise and warmth. She pulled back slightly, meeting Alastor's intense gaze. Each one’s breath heavily with affection and lust.

“Alastor... I... I didn't expect…”

Alastor, his crimson eyes ablaze with a possessive fervor, cut her off before she could finish. “Expectation is for the mundane, my dear. But your presence in this infernal realm has ignited a spark within me that defies logic and convention.”

“I suppose love has a way of doing that, even in Hell.”

Alastor's jaw tightened, a flicker of jealousy crossing his features as he glanced towards Rosie, who observed the scene with a knowing smirk and a low growl.

“That infernal minx... She knew exactly what she was doing, toying with my affections like that.”

Y/N chuckled, placing a reassuring hand on Alastor's arm “It's alright, Alastor. Rosie's just... playful, you know?”

Alastor's grip on his cane tightened, his frustration evident as he struggled to rein in his emotions, gritting his teeth.

“Playful or not, I won't stand for anyone else trying to claim what's rightfully mine.”

Y/N's heart skipped a beat at his possessive declaration, a blush spreading across her cheeks as she whispered softly, staring at his lips.

“And what exactly do you consider to be "yours," Alastor?”

Alastor's gaze softened, the fiery intensity giving way to a tender warmth as he reached out to cup Y/N's cheek.

“You, my dear. Your laughter, your company, your... affection. All of it. It belongs to me, and me alone.”

Y/N's breath caught in her throat, her eyes locked with Alastor's in a silent exchange of understanding and acceptance.

“Well then, I suppose you'll just have to keep me close, won't you?”

Alastor's lips curled into a devilish smirk, his possessiveness giving way to a newfound sense of determination as he leaned in close once more.

“Oh, you can count on it, my dear. I intend to keep you closer than anyone else ever could.” Slamming his lips back into hers, that hallway ended up being taken of its innocence.

And as Rosie listened on with a satisfied smirk, she knew that her mischief had borne fruit, paving the way for a love that defied the very fabric of their world.

Vaggie's eye will get wide when you get down on one knee. She will be in complete shock and will be speechless. All she can do is nod her head in response.

Velvette won't be surprised at all, she already knew you were going to propose to her. Instead, she surprises you by also pulling out a ring. So basically you guys just propose to each other.

Lute will think it's a joke that Adam set you up to do and won't be impressed at first. But once you tell her it's not a joke and that you're being serious, she will apologize for making assumptions. Afterwards she will accept your proposal and give you a cheek kiss.

Cherri Bomb will get super excited when she see's you pull out a ring. Of course she accepts and the two of you celebrate by getting wasted.

Carmila Carmine is completely shocked by your sudden proposal. However, she's always trying to do what's best for her girls so she might reject you. If her daughters convince Carmila that you the right sinner for her, then she'll accept.

Rosie will be extremely flattered by your proposal. She'll kiss you all over your face as she tells you she loves you. She promises she won't eat you, unlike her last husband!

What is Dawn relationship with Rosie?

oh man see I've been putting off answering the total of 3 asks I've got about Dawn with Rosie because I really wanted to do art for it but for some reason I had a bit of a mental block until this one poured in-

ANYWHO-

I think even though Alastor trusts Rosie with utmost confidence, Charlie is very wary about letting him take Dawn to Cannibal Town.

It's nothing personal, really, but they have an agreement that Dawn is not to be raised as a cannibal - if she ends up going for it out of her own free will later in life, that'll be her decision, but Charlie insists that she shouldn't be offered that as an option until at least 18.

At the time Charlie agrees to meet with Rosie to introduce Dawn to her, her and Alastor still only had a shaky sort of friendship, so she insisted on coming along to make sure Alastor doesn't go back on their agreement or turns a blind eye towards Rosie doing it for him.

Rosie ofc loves Dawn right away and teases Alastor about it, maybe even makes a comment about going about settling down in the wrong order and to at least have the decency to put a ring on a lady first... >:D

Live Parent Reaction(tm)

Ultimately the visit goes entirely without any issues whatsoever and they even left with a whole armful of gifted clothing items for their daughter that Rosie insisted they take home.

Rosie later becomes kind of a backup babysitter if Angel Dust or Lucifer are both somehow hindered, but also visits (and gets visited by Alastor with Dawn in tow) fairly frequently, easily granting her auntie status as a result (though I think Dawn might see her as more of a grandma once she learns what that concept means and what sorts of stereotypical activities are associated with that - especially since neither Lilith nor Alastor's mother are actually present)

Hello Rosy! I feel a bit ashamed about this. I’m 26 and my partner is 29. We’ve been together for almost 5 years and living together for almost 3. We just bought an apartment with the help of our family, and we’ve still got a lot of things to get done and sort on the house. Now we have to be extremely careful with money, as people in our family won’t be able to help us for a while if the need arises. Before, we never failed any rent of any bill, and we still went out to eat, go to the cinema, buy some stuff we didn’t need, etc. We were already careful, but we could spend a bit without dooming us for next month. However, we have very simple jobs. I have a university degree and worked close to my field for a while, but it was always part time or without a contract. I now have a full time job as a receptionist, which isn’t a dream but makes do with the minimum wage. Partner had a really bad job when we started dating, but he’s been looking for better and better and has been founding them, until he settled where he is now. The pay is slightly higher than mine, but with taxes he brings home less. We’ve talked about getting better jobs and I’ve been sending out CVs, but no one calls me. As for him, he’s content where he is. This is where my shaming comes in: my work colleagues have partners and husbands that work for big industrial companies, which is what our city is filled with. Even if they don’t have good positions there, they are already paid much higher at entry level, but most of those jobs are by shifts. If my partner was willing to work by shifts, which is a massive headache, I realize, he’s make approximately 300€ or even 400€ more. Before, it didn’t bother me so much, but now it does because it really makes a difference. I could apply to those jobs but to those I definitely wouldn’t be called. We’ve argued about this before, he says shifts are out of the question so he can be with me, but I’m frustrated because I can’t find a better job and have been doing side stuff to get some more and neglecting myself. I want to make sure we have enough for rent as I’m scared to death of not being able to pay. I want us to be able to still go out to eat once in a while, I want him to be able to buy his booster cards for a fantasy card game he loves. Eventually he’d like to start a family in a few years, but I’ve told him I’m uncomfortable having kids with the financial instability we’re in. My colleagues have a good life and their kids are “safe” due to the job their partners have. One colleague even comments how her husband doesn’t like his job but he won’t let go of it because it allows him to have the lifestyle he wants, and he feels fulfilled in his free time. Right now my life feels really hollow, I don’t fancy my job but I don’t like where everything else is either. But I don’t want to be selfish to the point of asking my partner to get a more demanding job when he doesn’t want to and when my colleague’s partners do it and don’t like it. How can I get off this mindset?

Capitalism is an insidious game. There's really no way to win, because it's never enough.

Not to mention, just because you have a job that pulls in more money doesn't mean you are 'safe.'

There's no such thing. Stable industries fail. You can be let go at any moment. The things they tell you about what you will get when you reach a certain level of monetary success aren't really true.

Right now, you're comparing yourself to other people who are in different situations. You're a receptionist while they are probably farther along in their careers, right? You're min wage, and they're making more.

I mean, you're lucky. You have a good boyfriend and you have a home that you own. You do have some success and some security but you're not looking at what you have, but what capitalism has made you think you should want. Sure you want to be 'more secure,' but what are you willing to give up to have it? How do you win this game? I don't think the answer is to force your boyfriend to get a different job. You may want to plan for your OWN career to move forward. Where can you go with the credentials you already have? What else do you need to do to move to the next step?

Or the other way to change things is definitely to change your mindset and be thankful for what you have, like I said before, a home a boyfriend, lots of possibility for the future, time to spend together or do cool things.

I think housing can be really expensive and it can be stressful to keep up that financial burden. So how do you lessen that stress? Learn to be zen. Not easy but it does help. Earn more money. Not easy and can be a sacrifice. Spend less money. This actually isn't always that hard although it's definitely a sacrifice and you need to cut out things you are used to. Rent out a room in your apartment or take in a roommate? Sure it's not ideal, but it might help with stress and give you more leeway. Sometimes you need to give up the expensive house although I don't think I suggest that for you, but in the past I've found that getting a cheaper apartment can make things better.

I'm kind of throwing out different possibilities though I don't really have a definitive answer. I spent my 20s and most of my 30s in nyc where rent and cost of living is high and my earning were never a match, so I do understand. Summary: You and Alastor are from two completely different worlds, eras even. So what happens when you try and maybe understand his world a bit more?

Y/N and Alastor had always been inseparable. From their time of meeting to an interesting friendship and now as they donned a romantic relationship, almost nothing had kept them apart. Their relationship was a whirlwind of laughter, shared musical interests, and undeniable chemistry. But there was always an unspoken barrier between them – the gap of time separating their worlds: Alastor being from the 1930s and Y/N being from the early 2000s.

Often one would use terms, mannerisms, or speak of time relevant events that left the other utterly confused and needing clarification. This tension often accompanied dinner, walks around Hell, and even small talk in the Hotel. While both were a great match, it certainly wasn't one made in Heaven. As their relationship approached its six-month mark, Y/N found herself curious about Alastor's origins. She longed to understand the era from which he hailed. Determined to bridge the gap between their worlds, Y/N sought guidance from Rosie the Overlord, a figure well-versed in the ways of the past and a very good…if the only…friend of Alastor.

And so, after a few weeks of secret planning, Y/N found herself in the bustling underworld, making her way to Rosie's domain. The Overlord welcomed her with open arms, her peppy demeanor softened by genuine curiosity. Rosie, intrigued by Y/N's eagerness, took her under her wing. Secretly relishing the chance to indulge her penchant for mischief, Rosie adorned Y/N in elegant 1930s attire, complete with a brown dress and a cloche hat. With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, Rosie schooled Y/N in the art of 1930s slang and mannerisms, eager to see her impress her demon beau.

"Ah, so you're the lucky one who's captured Alastor's heart," Rosie remarked with a knowing smirk. "Well, darling, if you want to understand the 1930s, you've come to the right place."

Meanwhile, Alastor, with his keen senses, couldn't help but notice Y/N's newfound enthusiasm for his era over the past few weeks and her sudden absence. He observed her with silent amusement, marveling at her determination to understand his world. Yet, beneath his composed exterior, Alastor's heart swelled with affection for the woman who had stolen it. No one had quite done anything for him like Y/N did, so imagine his surprise when one evening, as the crimson hues of dusk painted the sky, Y/N made her grand entrance.

Adorned in her vintage ensemble, she exuded an air of timeless elegance, her eyes sparkling with newfound confidence. Alastor, lounging in his parlor, couldn't tear his gaze away from her.

"Darling, what's all this?" Alastor inquired, his voice a melodic blend of curiosity and admiration.

Y/N flashed him a dazzling smile, her cheeks flushed with excitement as she sheepishly rubbed the back of her neck. "I wanted to understand your world better, Alastor. So…I sought Rosie's help."

Alastor's grin widened, a glint of pride shining in his crimson eyes. "Well, ain’t you a looker?" he chuckled, extending a hand to his beloved as suddenly his microphone decided to play some tunes as if from an old LP.

As they waltzed across the room, Alastor couldn't resist whispering sweet words of encouragement to Y/N. "You may be from a different time, my dear, but your beauty transcends all eras."

With each step, their love blossomed, a testament to the timeless nature of their bond. For in the depths of Hell, amidst the chaos and despair, Alastor and Y/N found solace in each other's arms. As they danced to the crackling tune of an old record, Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of belonging in Alastor's world and he found a sense of belonging in hers. And as they laughed and twirled through the night, she realized that, no matter the time period, their love would always transcend the boundaries of time and space.
