As the year is ending,

The residual of all the life I’ve forbidden myself out of habit

is barely drawing a new beginning line

So where do i start ? today ?

By the time I woke up today i was already late, not in the sense that i had somewhere to be. No, but the urge to up and leave was almost hysterical

The only thing contradicting it

Was the hesitancy I chained my feet to before I went to sleep last night.

One foot in December, the other in January.

I thought i could still put an effort in trying, but then i started counting all the steps that i took away from reality

I’m so full of life that i don’t know how to put any of it to use; bits and pieces are falling behind because i have my hands so full of myself.

I rationalize the amount of love i absorb into my body, but.. it’s never wasted on me.

If it’s too much for me today, I’ll save it in, store it in a dark corner in my brain that resembles a personal pandora box

my prefrontal cortex

and when everything gets overwhelmingly dark I’ll open it then, let all the leftover love roam my world, and if it ruins me then so be it and if it fixes me…

Well, i don’t see it.

I strive for depth but the more i dig the deeper I’m buried

Naïve enough to expect that someone on the surface will surely notice, and walk back on my steps.

But it’s nothing to worry about now, is it ?

I’m young and I’m invincible and I’m on top of the world

I’m hesitant and I’m rotten. and I can’t stop thinking about throwing myself into this world

The way i was thrown in a pool as a child, expecting that contact will trigger an instinctive response and I’ll swim.. I’ll live.

So.. if I start spinning around myself in my kitchen like a dervish would do in sufi whirling..

it’s only because I’m overflowing with all that I want to be.. but i can’t.

I've been thinking about it for a long time (a week) to finally write another TDWP fanfic.

Right cool.

Just this time it's multi chapter, with a full blown plot and everything, and kinda my au/canon divergence.

It's set 20 years after Andy's left Runway in Paris. She worked for the Mirror as a fashion reporter, then flew up in the ranks and became Co-Editor in Chief.

However, the sponsors withdrew and the Mirror ended up falling into bankruptcy, yada yada- five years later she's unemployed again.

Over that time at the Mirror, she came back into contact with her godmother (whole other backstory, might write about it after I finish this fic), Floriana who works at Style Queen (yes I added another fashion magazine, from the MLB universe tho) and she helps her get a job as a Fashion Reporter at The New York Times.

Again, flies up through the ranks- Fashion Editor, then Sr. Fashion Editor. Then heading more into the politics department, she finds herself being the head- they being offered the Editor In Chief job.

This all seems to happen rather quickly,but it actually takes the remaining 15 years and I won't be going over it much in the story but this is just some background character building.

Sounds a bit boring and uncharacteristically Andy right? Not really no. That work on the Janitors Union she did was, politics really. And it makes sense that after Runway, she wants to be into fashion more and more. Just to impress Miranda.

She's finally Editor In Chief, and gets an invitation to go to the Paris Fashion Week. And of course she has to go, I mean she was a fashion correspondent- no one can do it as well as she can.

Oh my god that sounded like something Miranda said in the movie.

Anyway- of course she then realises that she'll have to meet Miranda again. It's too late to leave now.

And that's when the story starts!

And as a sneak peak I'll tell you that it starts with Andy overthinking on a bridge over the Seine.

Oh and her hotel is opposite Miranda's!

Tell me if anyone's interested in this, I'll try dedicate every chapter to any fans.

As an aromantic, it's so hard for me to write canon romance. I still have my very few ships but I ship them in a very aromantic way ykwim? Canon ships make these people kiss romantically, I make them kiss for the bit, the intimacy of being loved that doesn't even slightly pertain to romance, or some secret third reason.

-he didn't want this but you begged long enough until he had no other choice than to give in

-he only allows you to do a little bit of makeup and you can only take clothes from his closet, which limits your creativity a lot. But at least he lets you give him a makeover

-when you're done, you can't really tell if he likes it but he doesn't really seem as if he dislikes it either. He seems a little conflicted about seeing himself with makeup

Oof I'm really bad at updating Tumblr. My Devil Wears Prada fanfic 'The Devil Wears Chanclas' is up to 7 chapters now!

I'm having a lot of fun with this one. It's an AU where I've swapped their ages, changed Andy's profession (was a journalist for many years and now is a caretaker to the elderly), and then, why the heck not, I made them both Latinas! I decided to write this fic because I had a lot of themes I wanted to explore about my relationship to my mother and my upbringing within my culture. If any of that interests you check it out!
