How the Uchiha are when in love
I love that Uchiha feel so much strongly than your average person so here’s how they feel when in love
Madara: knows that love is vital and important on a fundamental level, genuinely wants to feel it but what the environment of war has put him through taints his mind so he tells himself that he’ll never be loved and never love himself for it will destroy them and him. Envious of those who will put their heart on their sleeve but not stupid enough to allow himself to do it because of his loss and suffering. The benefit of love is just too unreliable for him but he’ll obsess in his mind, never making any move.
Izuna: gets mean. He likes to never acknowledge how he’s feeling because 1. He doesn’t understand it always 2. Romantic love is not important. He’ll feel the butterflies bubble up inside his stomach and what comes out of his mouth is not kindness nor vomit but insults and venom. Hates feeling vulnerable and any connection he’ll sever. Love is something that will stab you from behind and watch as you bleed to death. He’ll have none of that.
Fugaku: is actually the most sane one here. He gets nervous and because it’s such a foreign feeling for him he gets a bit colder than he usually is. He knows logically that he’s in love but emotionally it’s hard for him to let himself feel it, he doesn’t think it’s something he deserves or focuses on but it ends up taking a lot of space in his mind. Is more chill around them without realizing it. Is quite jealous but he won’t make any schemes, he’ll sit and wait for them to come to him.
Obito: He has the views of nihilism and the idea that love will tear your lungs out from your chest as you gasp for breath before it gives you air to live. He doesn’t have the logical aspect of Madara so he fully believes wearing your heart on your sleeve is the easiest way to die. In the short moments where he sits within himself though, he gets physically ill. He’s unable to handle how strong his emotions are and in turn it puts him in fight or flight but he ends up puking. He’ll be on his hands and knees shaking in the corner from dehydration due to vomiting.
Sasuke: doesn’t want anything to do with the source of his feelings. He’d rather cut his arm off before he lets it touch the one he yearns for. Runs from his emotions and will never acknowledge until it’s beaten into him. He’s subconsciously scared of being vulnerable with anyone and puts a cold and mean face on to lead people astray from his genuine emotion.
Itachi: sorrowful and shy. Standoffish though. He knows what he’s feeling and doesn’t act irrationally, which makes him seem aloof and uncaring. Is rather cautious but his kind and trusting nature can override that which can make him believe they’ll never do anything to hurt him. As logical as he is, his love is delusional, childlike even.
Shisui: one of the most secretly unhinged and possessive here. Isn’t afraid of love because it’ll destroy him but rather that he can’t control them. He’s kind and loving, but he’s spent too many years being what other people want and need, he doesn’t even know himself enough to let anybody know him though the parts he does know he doesn’t like. The jealousy, the possessiveness, the need of control. He’ll spiral if he doesn’t have control, but he wants love so badly it aches. So sat in the idea that it’s hopeless because all people die, that he won’t let himself genuinely love another person.

thing about me i have such specific opinions on kakashis relationship with physical touch and if i read a fic that contradicts it it will bother me for the rest of the day like. i firmly believe as a rule he is tremendously touch adverse person he does NOT like being casually touched and has a very short and firm list of people who are currently alive who he would accept a hug from (guy naruto sakura. this is the end of the list. sasuke is very timeline dependent and even then sasuke would never initiate so its not really an option in the first place). like i firmly absolutely believe guy has hugged him before i know he has because he understands that kakashi is tremendously touch starved and definitely needs a hug but also because of the fact that hes also extremely touch adverse due to the issues and the horrors these hugs are limited to a short interval of like 5-7 seconds max which is enough time for kakashi to process getting a hug and to have every single emotion hes ever had bubble up to immediately start fighting with each other inside his head but the hug gets cut off before it becomes too much. i also think he would basically flat out never hug anybody for his own sake ever like if he were to initiate a hug it would have to be because he judges that the other person needs a hug (think like after naruto has a panic attack on the way to the land of iron kind of situation) but he would seriously shoot himself before initiating a hug because he wants to hug this person. he would just stand there with like an insane amount of inner tension and feel embarrassed and miserable and pathetic and so so so guilty for wanting something especially since it has to do with physical touch which is something hes already messy about anyways and just would stare and not do anything at all . like something seriously dire would have to happen for him to genuinely consider giving somebody a hug because he wants to hug them and even then hed spend so long fighting with himself over it that by the time he worked up the nerve to do anything hed be like well its too late now so im just not going to do it its fine (its not fine)

okay, I’m not a gatekeeper. I swear I’m not. But I genuinely cannot help but be irked when I see a hinata fan latch themselves onto characters like Neji or Sasuke. Pretending like they ~totally~ understand their characters while also horribly misrepresenting them and characterizing them like they’re from a fanfiction. Talking about how noo sasuke would love hinata if he really got to know her! He’s just so cold and unfeeling that a character like hinata could really bring out a nice side to him!1!1!1 Neji is a victim of this too but in a slightly lesser degree as most hinata fans don’t bother to ship them openly as they’re related. But that won’t stop them from characterizing Neji as someone completely and utterly obsessed with hinata to the point he grovels at her feet and is possessive of her like a “big brother.” Because if hinata called him her big brother when he died then that totally makes them siblings! Who cares if neji considers himself that! Hinata said so1!11!1!
god I dunno. Maybe I’m just being selfish in the idea I just want hinata Stans to stay tf away from Neji and Sasuke because if you like hinata and her character, there is absolutely zero chance you will be able to understand Neji or Sasuke.
Well, I don't see an issue with liking a character by itself and proclaiming yourself a fan of the rest (I'm a big fan of Ino Yamanaka and Sasuke Uchiha, two characters that stand in opposite corners thematically), yet this can be sustained as long as we respect their canonical characterizations and understand that not everything about a character is "good" or has to be justified. As for the core of your complaint, I agree, as many of these arguments are sustained on the premise of giving Hinata more relevance (romantically or politically); something that she canonically does not possess and that neither of the two previously mentioned male characters are interested in giving her.
Hinata's sole purpose as a character was based on being Neji's polar opposite during his arc (the Chünin exams are relevant to Neji, not Hinata, who is a supporting character to him) and being Naruto's admirer on certain occasions. That's it, at no point was she even mentioned or observed by Sasuke, and any narrative weight she might have carried disappeared when Neji himself was no longer necessary for Naruto's growth.
Neji's problem isn't just with Hinata (I'm surprised to have to clarify something specifically mentioned in the manga and anime), but with the entire main Hyüga family; which is why his arc doesn't close until Hiashi (not Hinata), apologizes.
As for Sasuke, I wouldn't spend any more time thinking about it since the sole reason for his involvement lies in a desire for romantic reciprocity from the most attractive and powerful character in the manga (at the thought of an offspring with both Byakugan and Sharingan, despite the fact that the Sharingan is infinitely superior to the Byakugan). If with Neji's arc, Hinata possessed almost zero thematic relevance, with Sasuke - with whom she not only never interacts but in his eyes, she's part of the caste he seeks to eradicate, then her incidence is extremely nil.
I've never written a post about SasuHina/HinaSasu, and in part, I refuse because their canonical possibility really is nil, so there's nothing more to analyze than headcanons and fanfictions that have their own rules, which have little to do with Kishimoto's material.
Perhaps in the future, I'll dedicate a post to that pairing discussing some of its more famous theories; like how Hinata, being a character considered by the fandom as "sensitive", could understand and help Sasuke despite the fact that she was never seen comforting or trying to understand any character other than Naruto; going as far as to dismiss her cousin's emotions in order to put herself as a victim of the system on the same level as her cousin, whom her father enslaved.
Hinata being shy is not the same as her being "good" or "sensitive", Sakura used to be shy during her childhood and was bullied for it, yet Hinata stans don't usually consider Sakura to be a good person...
Here are some posts about Hinata and Neji's relationship:

wait why are so many sasuke fans saying fugaku wasn't so bad...... 🤨 didn't he make sasuke feel inferior and like a dissapointment bc itachi was his favourite child, and didn't even care enough about sasuke to attend his graduation until itachi basically pressured him into it. their mother is the one who was like "oh he's just bad at communicating" making excuses for him lol, but it doesn't change how badly he treated sasuke for years. not that samurai are a better option, but fugaku should go in the fire with all the other shitty dads lmao (ps. thanks for running this poll btw, life has been really tiring recently and this has amused me so much, I appreciate all the effort you've put in for us haha)
As we discussed, I will just be responding to the initial question of this to hopefully give some insight as to why many Sasuke lovers do actually like Fugaku.
First and foremost Sasuke doesn’t even dislike his father, Sasuke loves him!
Aside from that though, to actually delve into it, I feel that most Sasuke lovers are Uchiha lovers to begin with. People who tend to sympathize, relate to, understand, and adore Sasuke extend that to his clan which has been wronged for far longer than the Uchiha genocide. They went through decades on decades of being oppressed, and Fugaku had that weight on his shoulders to be responsible for the fate of his clan and how they were to be treated ongoing. He was under a lot of pressure and his focuses, unfortunately, did have to be diverged from Sasuke, and from Itachi in a way that Itachi actually needed. Sasuke was a kid and wasn’t included in knowing the situation their clan had been put in. He doesn’t know why his father is so incredibly busy and not solely focused on family. He’s a kid. He just doesn’t know. He wants attention and praise— which he does actually get from Fugaku, just not in the way and the intensity he desires it.
Fugaku never treated Sasuke in an abusive or even negative way, he just hadn’t given him praise in the exact way that Sasuke desired. His comparison of Sasuke to Itachi, to me, seems to be put in a way of encouraging Sasuke to grow, and alternatively sometimes telling him that it’s okay to slow down and not be like Itachi. Did this sit well with Sasuke? No, Sasuke didn’t receive that in a way that was beneficial to him, however Fugaku clearly had no malicious intent. Sasuke was a kid— a younger sibling at that— he’s going to take comparisons to his brother very personally. Nonetheless, Fugaku still praised him and gave him attention when he could, it just wasn’t well received from Sasuke (again, a clueless child to the situation at large).
Fugaku was frankly bad at communicating, and he was absolutely a little emotionally reserved. He wasn’t good at expressing his emotions, but he still clearly loved his family. He was with them when he could be, but again he had a LOT of expectations and weight on his shoulders at all times.
Yes, Fugaku gave more attention to Itachi, but he genuinely needed to. It wasn’t that Itachi was his favourite child, it’s that Itachi was (supposed to be, believed to be) a large and important role in the Uchiha coup d’état. So not only was Itachi someone he could give attention to during family time, but he was also involved in the other massive part of Fugaku’s life in this point of time. Sasuke however would see this and not understand, he doesn’t have the knowledge to be able to see why his brother is getting more attention than him.
All in all, Fugaku was burdened with a lot while his kids were both very young. It’s unfortunate, for sure, but it’s something that while looking at the big picture is understandable. Unfortunately it just wasn’t in a childs eyes. Was Fugaku the best dad in the world? Absolutely not. But is he really comparable to some of the other horrible fathers in Naruto? No, at least not in my opinion.
Additionally, I also just want to state that Fugaku taking Itachi to the war zone as a child was not canon to the manga. I believe it was a part of the Itachi Light novels.
I think this ask here also gives a nice perspective on the pro-Fugaku opinion too. I’m sure there are plenty other very good reasons I could add here too, I simply don’t have the time at the moment and this is already super long anyways LOL. Any Fugaku defenders can add to this as well with some other perspectives :)
Anyhow, I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the poll and I hope this explanation may give a bit of insight as to why many Sasuke lovers do not actually hate Fugaku.

Hi. I am one among them who believes Sakura knows there's something between Naruto & Sasuke. Even in that shitty movie the way she forces Naruto to fall in love with that weirdo stalker and in the ED (I don't know if anyone noticed this or not) comparing with the genuine smile of others, she has that evil smile like 'finally it's over my plan worked now Sasuke kun is mine'. What do you think Tamelee??
Hi~
Of course she does!
I don’t know about Sakura’s smile being “evil”, I’ve always felt like it’s.. uneasiness and insecure more than anything else.
Remember Sarada stepping in between Ino and Sasuke simply because she wanted to greet him after not seeing him for so long?
"You’re not allowed to come close to my dad, because he is connected to my mom he said.. through me and that connection is so weak that everything and everyone is a threat, so stay away, please, because I’m still not sure what is up with this woman with the glasses that he was with and my mom and everyone else are being super secretive about it and it makes me feel anxious. I want a family photo to fix this. "
Tumblr media
Sakura: “HAHAHAHA....”
If Sakura’s smile or feelings towards this subject truly are ‘evil’ it means there is a sense of ‘victory’ as well, but there isn’t, not even in the slightest, despite them supposedly being “husband and wife”.
Sakura confessed to (fake Sasuke) Naruto himself early on that she felt like Naruto was getting in the way.
Tumblr media
“He’s always getting in the way when I do something important.” (Other translation says “love or happiness”)
Why did she say this?
We were shown that something important to her was trying to get Sasuke’s attention and stealing away his first kiss which both she failed to do and Naruto succeeded in.
It seemed like Naruto didn’t even realize he was sitting next to Sasuke as he turned to look at him.
Tumblr media
Sasuke, who ignores everyone and minds his own business reacts immediately as Naruto simply looks at him and even initiates a conversation, "what?" why?
Tumblr media
We find out later that Sasuke always “kept his eyes on Naruto and couldn’t stop paying attention to him.”
Naruto acting this way with Sakura, a classmate, is just another instance of him trying desperately to create a bond since there is zero emotional connection involved and he gets scolded by her rudely regardless. Him “having a crush on her” therefore truly is funny.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile Sakura takes the opportunity to trample Naruto (the topic of Sasuke’s attention) to scream at Sasuke to try and redirect it to her.. which he disregards completely as he turns back again. An instance of Sasuke’s body moving (away from Sakura) on its own.
Tumblr media
She doesn’t give up though as she in turn ignores how incredibly uncomfortable Sasuke looks, only selfishly thinking about what she wants.
Tumblr media
“Today I’m going to get Sasuke-kun and I’m going to steal his first kiss!!”
But who stole Sasuke’s first kiss?
Tumblr media
Sakura’s confession: “He (Naruto) enjoys to see me struggle.. he doesn’t understand anything about me, he’s just annoying.”
Sasuke never knew that the kiss was an accident, it is possible that Sakura didn't either.
What did she say to Naruto after seeing him kiss Sasuke?
Tumblr media
“..Naruto.. you are.. annoying!!” Then, proceeding to beat him up.
Further proving that Sakura’s earlier hatred towards Naruto primarily stems from him “taking away Sasuke(’s fantasy)” from her. Sasuke was never her’s, nor anyone else’s, yet she always treated him like an object. Something that had to be won.
And Naruto, to her, got in the way of that.
Tumblr media
“He always comes between us!”
Sakura’s confession: “All I want is for you (Sasuke) to acknowledge me.”
Tumblr media
“And I’m absolutely serious about this, I would do anything, because I like you a lot.”
Naruto is blushing like an idiot here, even looks shocked. Worse, his eyes are drawn in a way like he realized something, surely, like Google says, he “is soooo in love with Sakura here”, right?
Wrong.
She helped Naruto sort out his own feelings for Sasuke.
Up until now Naruto “hated” Sasuke the most, because he was “so cool”, not understanding what it meant or how to call the bond that was forming with him,
Tumblr media
but he also wanted to be acknowledged by Sasuke more than anything as we know..
Tumblr media
(Wasn't the original translation something about Naruto being 'aroused' using the sexual term for it here? lol)
Naruto also did everything and anything he could for Sasuke, being more serious about that than his dream of becoming Hokage “How can I become Hokage if I can’t even save one friend?” Or even his own life “I’ll bear the burden of you hatred and die with you!!”.
Nothing, not even a vision he could think of for Konoha's future or him as Hokage, not the acknowledgement of the villagers, not this 'Will of Fire', absolutely nothing, to Naruto, is more important than Sasuke's wellbeing.
As Sakura leans in for her kiss with Sasuke, Naruto closes his mouth and comes to the realization that he understands thanks to her words..
Tumblr media
“I feel like I finally understand.. why I like her.”
Tumblr media
“What.. Sakura-chan, you already met with Sasuke!?”
Sakura met up with Sasuke before he left the village and selfishly refused to let Naruto, or anyone else for that matter know about it. She was found on a bench and all she did during that time was sob by herself leaving Naruto completely in the dark.
Tumblr media
“Naruto! I beg you!! Please.. Please bring Sasuke back, I couldn’t do it.. I couldn’t stop him! The ONLY person.. who can probably save Sasuke-kun now is you.. Naruto.”
Sakura already has her suspicions here. She knows that Naruto is the only one that could possibly influence Sasuke or has a chance to get through to him.
Tumblr media
Naruto almost wants to look happy about it, but knows he can’t.
Naruto looks contemplative as he thinks a moment before putting up this fake, almost painful smile, the same Sakura showed him when not believing his words about Sasuke,
Tumblr media
He always has been mindful of her as well as we've seen by his odd reactions and many "(.........)" panels. Literally connect the dots and anyone would understand that Naruto does not have a crush on Sakura, but instead has deeper rooted feelings for someone else and they both realized it during this time.
Tumblr media
He looks conflicted. The panels are also drawn that way. The shadow in his face and Kishimoto deciding to not show his eyes means there are hidden and suppressed emotions.
“Sakura-chan, you really like Sasuke, huh? I know how much pain you’re in because of Sasuke. I can understand.”
He tells her he understands the pain she feels... and that’s when it hits her.. and it hits her hard. Perhaps she already knew, but Naruto confirmed what she already suspected.
How do we know?
Because his words link her to this particular memory right away as she starts to cry harder:
Tumblr media
“Naruto is annoying, because he comes in between my love life. He comes in between me and Sasuke.”
She comes to understand, because she knows that Naruto, despite his own feelings has always been helping her.
Tumblr media
“He always knew, he always helped me.”
These panels are probably the most telling out of the whole manga. And I personally consider these on par with Naruto confessing his love for Sasuke under the bridge.
This is only the beginning...
And about that terrible movie, I haven’t seen it, but I know that all of a sudden Sakura and Hinata are besties only because Sakura forces Hinata on Naruto’s lap by calling him an idiot who knows how many times even though she perfectly understands in canon Naruto’s feelings and how good his emotional perception is.
Hinata confessed to Naruto in front of everyone, he rejected her. Ignoring is the same as rejection albeit a bit cowardly, let’s be honest. Then again, I do understand considering the ridiculous circumstances and Sakura knows this too. Yet during the filler movie, as far as I read when Hinata asked Sakura why she encouraged her to go after Naruto she thought of Sasuke for some reason and said that they needed to “support each other”. Yet where is all that support now? LMAO, if that ain’t telling..

sorry if you’ve been asked this before but could u explain ur bakugou truther lifestyle in a world where anime fans hate him lol
LMAO it honestly genuinely fascinates me how much people hate bakugou bc.. his arc does everything right. he starts his journey as someone so obsessed with expressions of power bc that's what he believes all might is emblematic of, that it drives him to bully others he deems weak and subsequently develops in himself a sheer terror at the idea of being weak. a terror that is then exacerbated into a truly ugly, volatile, festering self-hatred when deku gets an insane quirk that threatens to leave bakugou to the wayside after all of the years of effort. it is a very close parallel to the dynamic between naruto and sasuke as it develops at the outset but obv naruto and sasuke are part of an entirely different world. sasuke possesses the same complexes as bakugou not bc he's aspiring to be some revered hero but bc he lives in fear of losing everyone he loves, all over again. so in that sense i somewhat understand why people make fun of bakugou in comparison bc, well, his troubles really aren't that serious comparatively. he's lost no one and has no real reason to fear his own weakness. but i think to go about reading his character arc that way is a disservice to what it's trying to explore against the backdrop of mha's narrative as a whole, bc the point isn't to say that bakugou is justified in how he feels the way sasuke might be. quite the contrary in fact. bakugou is very much wrong and deku doesn't deserve a single ounce of his violence, but at the same time, bakugou is also a product of the society that they live in
i hate to make a comparison to endeavor bc i truly do not think they are anywhere near comparable (one is a child and one is an adult after all) so briefly bear with the reference here, but endeavor is not an anomaly. he's not the one unique person in this world's entire history who developed such an obsession with strength he was willing to put everyone else in harm's way for the sake of attaining it. if there can be one endeavor, there can be more, and i think it's arguable that bakugou is a brief glimpse of that. of someone who could grow up to become that same person, who cares for no one around him and views every person in his path as an obstacle or a stepping stone. but the difference here is that's not who bakugou actually is. his history with deku is complicated and rife with transgressions but there are multiple instances we're privy to of bakugou caring, of living in the world outside of pure achievement even if only for a spare moment. he has a capacity for kindness that others recognize in him and it infuriates him bc why should it even be impt when juxtaposed against strength. why should it matter. why should he even care. but he does care. about kirishima. about denki. about uraraka. about deku. and that's what all might really grasps onto and tries to pull back out to the surface with all of the strength that he can muster. he knows bakugou is better than what he's fashioned himself to be, and he knows bakugou knows it. if the parents in naruto largely go unaddressed for their failures, the crux of mha lies in its confrontation of the parents and their role in society. bakugou is always capable of kindness, but it's bc all might (and deku and uraraka and kirishima) constantly lets him know that his kindness is a strength in and of itself that bakugou starts to look inward. that he starts to evaluate how he's acted, who he's hurt, why he's done the things he's done. how powerless he's felt—not at the thought of not achieving #1, but at the thought of not being able to save the friends he cares about
it's bc of the fact that bakugou exists in this world, and not naruto's world, that he gets to do everything right. he gets the emotional support and guidance from a mentor figure. he gets to do the introspective thinking where his actions are evaluated and conclusions are made as to how he moves forward. it's precisely bc the end goal does not matter, in fact there is no end goal anymore. all that matters is the here and now and being able to stand alongside the people around him so that they can support each other. the parameters by which bakugou is allowed to receive closure and move on are clear cut in a way naruto's world could never have allowed them to be, and i genuinely believe that makes people angry bc if anything this is what they wanted for sasuke. not the relentless baggage and manipulation and lack of support. he didn't deserve not to have those things even though the point being made by naruto was precisely to highlight what a lack of those things in context of an exploitative military-industrial complex creates. no one seems to understand the point being made by mha, while somewhat analogous in nature, nonetheless goes the other way—not to highlight what a lack of emotional support and stability create, but to advocate for what their presence can constructively heal. mha is not so much concerned with addressing systems as it is with addressing individuals. hence why we even have an arc like endeavor's, where he in all likelihood will never be forgiven by the rest of his family, but his commitment to altering course will nonetheless be critical so as not to perpetuate further harm
and that's why bakugou interests me so much. i'm a sasuke truther too and i love him in his own way but i love that bakugou is in a series where personal accountability is so important bc it means he does all of the work himself. yes, he does receive encouragement and guidance from others but it's ultimately his choice to make whether or not he wants to change, and he does. he is repeatedly, consistently accountable to himself and to the people around him and to deku esp and i can't describe how monumental it is to see him not only put that sentiment into action but into words. the conversations he has with all might, with that one small kid whose name totally escapes me in this moment but if you've read you'll know what i mean, with deku. the fact that he takes a whole lightning strike or whatever the fuck it was (sorry. i haven't kept up with mha for a while it's quite sporadic) for deku bc his whole definition of strength has shifted on its access. talented. brilliant. incredible. amazing. showstopping. spectacular. never the same. totally unique. not ever been done before. etc. when they put him in the meat grinder and killed him i was so overwhelmed with joy bc yes on its face it's sad* but he's come so far. from someone who let so many civilians die on his entrance exam to someone who sacrificed his own life for the sake of others. it's insane! and i love him so, so deeply and he's one of my favorite deuteragonists in any shounen ever. i think everyone seems to be caught up not only on whatever i've been talking about so far but also on the idea that bakugou's a shitty deuteragonist bc he doesn't have his own personal villain the way everyone else does and it's like. hello. he never needed one. bakugou's own personal villain was himself. and he unequivocally beat him
*i really don't care that the death was a fake out.. he's still dead to me my sweet babie

i know kage summit is basically sasukes lowest point and i get why he stabbed karin when she was being held by danzo, but why did he get ready to kill her when danzo was already dead, its not like shes getting in the way anymore? was he basically just on a killing spree at that point, he really did only have murder on his mind, judging by the dialogue with kakashi ajdjsj but im wondering if someone had different thoughts on the matter.
i know u get a lot of these kinds of asks and r probably tired of explaining every little thing to faceless anons but im just genuinely like. ya know. i wanna hear other ppls thoughts
(also sorry if this has already been discussed, tumblr search is very unhelpful)
no problem, i tag my most important posts and asks but i also ramble a lot and everything is under a generic ramble tag, or simple ask tag. i’ve discussed a bit about this already here. sasuke is in the middle of a mental breakdown at this point, he’s severely traumatised, dealing with a man responsible for the genocide of his people who is wearing the victims’ eyes on his arm, you can’t expect sasuke to be logical or think straight in such moment, even right after killing danzo, the trauma is too big and the desire he has is not right but it’s understandable and i can see where it comes from. i think in karin’s case he was just finishing what he started, because he himself said she was no use to him anymore. you can see that after he calms down a bit and talks to itachi, he acts rationally and decides to know the truth himself by asking the hokages about the shinobi system and konoha and make the decisions from the answers he got, but you can’t expect him to be rational in such an emotional moment, you can’t expect him to keep his morals while facing so much dirt in the middle of a mental breakdown, i don’t see that as right or wrong, just tragic. it’s the tragedy of what a system does to its victims.

Headcanons for Team 7 x fem reader whom they all have a crush on
Sounds cute ^^ let's go... headcanons below the cut!
Naruto
Finds excuses to be near you all the time. Need something at the store? What a coincidence, so does he. Naruto will carry the basket or drive the cart (big mistake) and he'll offer to carry your bags right to your door.
He finds it difficult to flirt without it sounding a little awkward. The poor boy practices his lines in front of a mirror and he is downright smooth in the safety of his apartment, but not when it is time for the real thing.
Naruto has literally no idea that anyone else is crushing on you, let alone the rest of his team. He is too wrapped up in how good you make him feel when he is in your presence.
Isn’t it strange how he manages to bring your name up in conversation all the time? Almost like he wants to talk about you (and he does). Naruto can’t see how obvious he is being, but everyone else can.
He is nervous to outright ask you on a date, but he has taken to Ichiraku for ramen on multiple occasions and you wonder if this means something…
Naruto will tell you, eventually. Will you accept his affection?
Sasuke
He tries to deny it. Sasuke doesn’t have a need for a crush, and yet you continue to plague his thoughts. It only makes him brood all the worse, and you honestly wonder if he hates you.
Sasuke is well aware that you are popular, that both Naruto and Sakura find you appealing and that only awakens his jealousy.
The Uchiha doesn’t handle his complex emotions in a healthy way, often teasing you or downright ignoring you instead of saying what is actually on his mind - 'hey, I like you'.
However, if he gets the sense that either of his idiotic friends is going to make an actual move, most likely Sakura as she is way more in touch with her feelings and daring enough, Sasuke shifts gears. He still scowls but not at you, at anyone that dares to approach you.
Words are hard for the young Uchiha, instead, he tries to demonstrate his affection by way of acts of service. You look hungry, so he makes you a packed lunch. You're shivering, Sasuke throws his hoodie at you and refuses to take it back when you protest.
How long will it take him to find the courage to accept his feelings? Will you wait for him?
Sakura
She is quite forward with her advances. Sakura doesn't want to miss out on something that could be everything she needs. Whilst she may not outright tell you her feelings, they will be quite clear if you know what you are looking for.
Sakura finds reasons to touch you, never anything too intimate and she is cautious of intruding into your personal space, but she likes the physical connection. A hand on your shoulder. Quick hugs. Knees that bump together.
She is more than aware that her teammates like you too, but she is the better option and she'll make you see that. Sakura takes an interest in your hobbies, asks questions that prove she listens to what you tell her and genuinely shows she cares about your opinions.
She can be a little aggressive when it comes to fending off the clumsy advances of her friends - Naruto doesn't get why she is acting so hostile and Sasuke merely snarls in response. It can be intimidating to be around them all at once, and Sakura needs to be reminded that you can speak for yourself.
Sakura is sweet, caring and wants the best for you. She will give you the space you need but is also there in a heartbeat if you need someone to talk to or a shoulder to cry on.
Her confession will be sudden and heartfelt. How do you respond?
Sai
When you meet Sai for the first time, he is struck with a strange sense of understanding. He had heard a lot about you from Naruto and Sakura, and now it all made sense. He likes you instantly.
He is blunt, always has been. Whilst emotions are not something he could say he has any mastery over, he knows that the butterflies that swarm his tummy when he sees you mean something important.
Sai learns as much about you as he can, but not from you directly. He'll ask everyone and anyone until he has a perfect picture painted in his mind. He researches your interests so that he can speak about the subjects with a certain degree of knowledge, and he wants to impress you above all else.
Sometimes he doesn't realise that his way of speaking and the questions he asks can come across as inappropriate, and he doesn't mean to seem rude - truly - but he does want to know if you've had a partner previously. You can always speak your mind with Sai, in fact, he prefers that.
It won't take him long to ask you out, he'll be direct about it. Do you accept?

At Times,
(Oh boy oh boy, another installment in the “Sasuke is raised by the Akatsuki au” yay. This one is a little weird and underdone but I. I tried. Also sprinkled some mythology in there because i wanted to. hurrah. Anyway, here is some fluffy stuff, yeah. good ole fluffy. next one probably won’t be. but you know. also I am jumping all over the place this timeline is not linear i will be jumping all over the damn place so you know. @ghostjellyfishheart i made another one.)
TW and CW for: child injury, semi-gratuitous depiction of serious injuries, sort of amnesia, fucked up sleep schedules/habits, kidnapping, distress, probably ooc characters, this is a long one brace yourself but its mostly fluff i swear, tell me if I missed anything.
Sasuke woke up alone, for some reason. He opened his eyes carefully, sitting up. That action wasn't without pain of course, suddenly it felt like liquid fire had been poured into his veins, specifically his arm. He hissed through his teeth and looked blankly at it. His arm looked the same as the last time he looked at it, except a lot worse. A lot worse. Broken, it was clearly broken at the elbow. Well, it looked like he wouldn't get to sleep in afterall. Sasuke looked around him to try and get a grasp on his surroundings, and found that he was sitting in the middle of the woods, propped up against a tree. He groaned as he tried to get to his feet, scanning his surroundings again. He didn't see anything or anyone, but forced his sharingan away regardless. What happened? He couldn't remember. He must have gotten separated from the others, he’d been on a mission with Sasori and Deidara, right? And then… something happened. Sasuke felt panic grow in his chest. There had to be somewhere close he could go to collect his thoughts. His arm was beginning to scream, the numbness from unconsciousness wearing off. He was awake now, and the pain was only going to get worse. He gritted his teeth. Oh well. He’d been through worse. Conveniently, when he looked around, he found a path not too far from the tree he’d woken up at and began to follow it. He felt… heavy. Sasuke reached into his pocket, trying to figure out what he had on him should the need to defend himself arose. A couple of kunai that he nearly stabbed his fingers on when he reached into his pocket, and… something else. He pulled it out and his face twisted in disgust. A Hidden Sand Village headband. Was that who found him? Maybe? He was half tempted to throw the band into the brush but decided against it, tucking it back into his pocket. Not too far away, he came to a town that he… recognized. Degarashi Port, he realized. How did he get to Degarashi port? That's in the land of tea. Where is Sasori and Deidara? Itachi? Where is… anybody? Fuck, he’d really stepped in it now. He couldn't remember if something had happened, couldn't remember how he ended up here. Well that's head trauma for you, he thought bitterly. He probably had some type of head trauma. That was a good explanation. He was wearing his traveling clothes, his cloak and a sun hat he could use to cover his face if he needed to. Walking through the town, he tried to go over what he could remember. He’d been with Deidara and Sasori in tea country to assassinate some major leader. They had been scouting out a piece of land to see if they could camp there. And then… and then Sasori shouted something, and the scorpion tail, and then Deidara’s face looked more alarmed than Sasuke had ever seen it… and then nothing, for a while. And then… he paled. Fuck. something had happened, something bad. He’d been captured by someone who recognized him somehow, for what he was, who he was. Something about his eyes, something about the sharingan, forcing him to show it to them. Somehow he managed to get away; either he killed them and ran or stole away. Either way, he was in public now, so getting kidnapped wasn't so much an issue anymore. No one would snatch a kid in broad daylight in front of everyone, or at least, he didn't think so.
He meandered down the road, trying to clear his foggy head and look for a plan of action. His broken arm was tucked under his cloak, safely out of sight. Other than that, he didn't look like anything out of the ordinary, for the most part. He turned a corner into an alleyway, leaning back against the wall. He knew this place like the back of his hand because of how many times he’d been there, it was kind of ridiculous how many bloodthirsty people there were in a place called the land of tea. He needed to get back to the land of Wind, he needed to get back to the lair. Deidara and Sasori had to be somewhere else. Whoever captured him had been smart, they probably led them to somewhere that was a dead end. He had to get back on his own, and Sasuke could do that. Probably. Maybe. Hopefully. No, he had to. He would. He would get home. Whatever happened was important, he knew that. He had to get back home because of… because of what? Couldn't remember, whatever it was, he had to get back to the Akatsuki lair. When had he started calling it home?
“Oh my god, hold on, I know that kid!” Sasuke turned around just in time to lay eyes on four people. One of them was tall, white haired with an eyepatch and a bored expression. The other three were kids, around his age. One of them was dressed in a long sleeved crop top and his skin was so pale and grey Sasuke almost thought he was dead. After a few seconds of looking at him, he understood better. Black hair, serious eyes, fake smile. He's seen that before. The third person is a girl, short pink hair and wide green eyes. And the fourth… he felt his heart jump up into his throat. Blond, blue eyes. A stupid, stupid fucking smile. His mind flashes back years to being stranded at a boring hotel with an obnoxious boy around his age. Part of him wants to disappear, and the other part is grateful to see someone who’s just a little bit familiar. The blonde ran over to him.
“Sasuke!” he called. “Hey, hey Sasuke! It's me, it's Naruto!” He remembered that name, and he remembered that face from a long time ago out in the country side. Sasuke must have been around twelve then, bored out of his mind because of how long Kisame and Itachi were taking to get a job. He didn't have a single friend his age at that point, (he still didn't, but he wouldn't think about that) so it was kind of refreshing to meet someone else like him. Even if it came in the form of a loud annoying boy with the brain of a toddler that screamed his name constantly and had no idea what it meant to keep his voice down.
“Naruto,” Sasuke said bluntly. “I um- I can tell. That it's you.” The other three people followed behind and Sasuke did his best to figure them out. The girl, pink hair, is looking at him with something like admiration. He couldn't tell if that was a good thing or a bad thing. The other two seemed more cautious, the black haired one still smiling blankly but more on guard and the white haired adult… Sasuke got the creeping feeling that he was being analyzed right back. He tucked that into the back of his mind for later. This person was dangerous. He knew that much.
“Who’s this, Naruto?” the girl asked. Naruto glanced at her.
“Huh? Oh! Sakura, this is Sasuke.” He turned back to his friend. “And Sasuke, this is Sakura, Kakashi, and Sai. Sasuke’s a friend from a while ago, on that journey with Jiraiya?” Sasuke’s head was turning particularly slow. He blinked.
“J-Jiraiya? Like the legendary Sannin?” Naruto’s smile grew wider. He probably thought Sasuke was impressed by his trainer, but in reality, Sasuke was thinking well, the last time I met a Sannin, he tried to cut out my eyes and/or use me and Itachi for creepy ritual stuff, that was not a good time. Of course, Naruto didn't need to know the inner workings of his mind. In his confused and half delirious state, Sasuke wondered idly if Naruto had a similar experience with Jiraiya. He doubted it, frankly.
“Hello. My name is Sai,” the black haired boy said robotically. Sasuke didn't trust him, and he didn't trust that smile. At all. Still, he gave a half wave with his good hand.
“Sasuke knows Ninjutsu!” Naruto said proudly. White hair, Kakashi, raised an eyebrow.
“Oh? And what village is he from?” Naruto frowned. Sasuke tried not to grimace. He remembered his interactions with Naruto very, very clearly. They traded techniques, beat the hell out of each other a little bit, had a lot of fun and shared memories and thoughts they hadn’t ever shared with anyone before, and then… and than Sasuke noticed the leaf headband and disappeared without a word. He used any excuse to be anywhere else, because this kid was a leaf ninja. He couldn't risk it. He could never have been friends with someone like that.
“Hey, I never gotta ask. Where ya from anyway?” Naruto asked.
“H-Hidden Sand,” Sasuke said quickly, pulling the almost forgotten badge from his pocket and showing it to them. Kakashi seemed to approve, and Naruto smiled.
“Damn, Sunagakure? I've got some friends from there, that's-”
“What's a Sand village ninja doing this far south?” Kakashi asked contemplatively.
“Lets just say I got… separated from my squad,” Sasuke told them, a plan beginning to form in his foggy mind. “I know the area here, I could help you get back to Fire Country. Do you think you can help me get back to Suna? I… erm… a sort of… diplomatic mission?” Naruto smiled wider, something Sasuke hardly thought was possible.
“Sure! Gaara’s the Kazekage, he’s like, my best friend. No problem at all!” Kakashi sighed.
“Okay, what could possibly go wrong? Just a little pit stop at Suna, nothing more, nothing less…” Sasuke felt himself let out a breath of relief. At some point they started walking back towards the woods after Sasuke pointed to a couple of spots on the map, and at one point or another, the pain in Sasuke’s arm began to build. He stumbled on the forest path.
“Woah there kiddo, what's going on?” Kakashi asked. The sensei gently moved him to a tree and had him sit down against it. The girl, Sakura, moved forward, and after examining him for a second or two she uncovered his arm. Kakashi raised an eyebrow as Naruto and Sakura winced.
“Y-You're arm is broken!” Sakura exclaimed. Sasuke blinked at her blearily.
“Uh… y-yes,” Sasuke managed. “It… it is.” She picked up his arm gingerly and began to look over it with a solemn expression. “I need to set it, and then apply some medical jutsu. It's a bad break. Why didn't you say something earlier, stupid?” she demanded. Sasuke blinked at her again.
“S-Sorry. Today has been… rather trying,” he muttered.
“Yeah, sure seems like it,” Naruto muttered. “We should make camp, the sun’s setting anyway and it's dangerous to go down these roads in the middle of the night,” he glanced at Kakashi who sighed and nodded his ascent.
“Hate to admit it, but you're right. Sai, come on, let's go find a clearing.” Sasuke looked over at Sakura, the pink haired girl. Her eyes were clouded with worry, concern. He didn't understand it. He didn't know her. Why was she… Sakura sighed and put a hand to his forehead.
“Sleep, okay?” she breathed. “You look exhausted, and it won't do the healing process any favors if you try to stay awake. Just rest, you're safe now.” You're safe now. It had been so long since anybody had said that to him. He didn't know if he liked it. He wasn't safe. Sasuke… was never safe. He had never been safe, never would be. But then chakra flowed from her fingertips, and he was lulled into… something. His eyes closed. Consciousness slipped through his fingers like sand.
When Sasuke woke up, he was more tired than he had been in a long time. His periods of rest were typically dreamless and seemingly endless, unless they were plagued by nightmares that left him screaming for help and tasting blood. This time, he woke up slowly, almost… gently. He woke up to a forest ceiling made of leaves belonging to trees he had never seen before. He sat up slowly, not wanting to strain himself.
“You're awake, teme!” Sasuke blinked and looked to his right, just to find a very enthusiastic Naruto looking back at him. He frowned and his answer was instinctive.
“Of course I am, dobe.” Naruto only grinned more. He looked like he did when they met all those years ago. That pale kid, Sai, walked over.
“Hello,” he called, and Naruto turned to look at him.
“Sasuke’s awake!” Kakashi walked over too, surveying all of them.
“Yes, it appears that's the case,” he mused. “I hate to say this Sasuke, but you should probably try to go back to sleep. These idiots only have a few more hours of sleep left before we have to head out.” Sasuke only nodded. If there was one thing he was familiar with, it was weird sleep schedules. He was used to waking up at the crack of dawn or the middle of the night at the drop of a hat. That's just how he’d lived and had to live. He suspected that these ninjas must have lived a similar way. It certainly seemed that way. He had to fight the waves of rage that crept into his chest at seeing their headbands. Leaf soldiers. They were leaf soldiers. In any other circumstances he would slit all of their throats and run, but he needed them. And besides, he didn't know if he’d ever be able to do that to Naruto. Ever. It was disturbing, how averse he was to hurting this Konoha dog. It didn't feel right. He only nodded at Kakashi’s instruction and laid his head back down on the bedroll, frowning.
“What… where did you get this extra bed roll?”
“It's mine! I let you sleep in it,” Naruto chimed in. Sasuke blinked at him.
“And… why did you do that?” Naruto rolled his eyes.
“Uh, you were injured. You obviously need it more than me.” Sasuke couldn't help but smile.
“That's… thank you.” He rolled over and froze after a moment. He sat up again. “Where’s- where’s my sword?” Naruto frowned and went rummaging on the other side of his sleeping area. He produced the chokuto, scabbard and all. Sasuke breathed a sigh of relief.
“Geeze, all that for a blade?” Naruto muttered. After a few seconds of looking at it, he asked another question. “Why’s it so important?”
“I made it myself. Forged it with some help. It's called Kusanagi.”
“That's a cool name.” Sasuke closed his eyes and laid down.
“It means grass cutter.” He mumbled, thinking of old stories his brother used to tell him in the dead of night. “There’s a whole story about it. Once there was an old god who roamed the plains of earth. He met some younger gods when they told him about a giant snake that terrorized them and kept eating their daughters. They offered their daughter’s hand in marriage if he could defeat the snake. When he did, he found out that there was a sword embedded in the snake's tail, a sword that could control the wind. He used it to ward off flames rising in the dry grass plains, that's why it was called grass cutter.”
“Wow,” Naruto muttered. “That's a cool story.”
“Mhm,” Sasuke mumbled back. “It was one of my favorites.” They both nodded off soon after, and Sasuke fell asleep oddly well for being with the enemy. Better then usual, anyway.

Flat Chested Love || Uchihas x Reader
warnings: just slight suggestive themes!
summary: the uchihas love any girl, it doesn’t matter how you are, they just do. :)
Itachi Uchiha
Tumblr media
He genuinely doesn’t understand why you think negatively of yourself in this way. He thinks you’re adorable and that your body is beautiful. He doesn’t care that you have a small chest, he loves cuddling with you and leaning on your chest anyway. Anyone who insults you because of your chest? He won’t hesitate to speak out because no one talks to his lover that way! He’ll also make sure to comfort you if you need it. He is very willing to show you just how much he cares too if you want. Prepare for a long night of sweet praises, kisses, and more. ❤️
Shisui Uchiha
Tumblr media
You’re insecure? What? Babe you’re like that most amazing, sweet, and fantastic girl he has ever met and seen. He loves you, all of you, and there isn’t anything that can change that. It’s not like it’s about your body, it’s you. He can’t help just embracing you and giving you a bunch of kisses after hearing your thoughts. “I love you,” he says, he means it, and now he’s going to show you. His face contorts into a smug grin, “let us have the whole day off, I’m going to take care of you all day princess.” He just wants to dedicate a whole day showing you just how much he loves you for who you are.  ❤️
Madara Uchiha
Tumblr media
Like Itachi, Madara doesn’t quite understand. He’s literally the biggest softie alone with you! But what he does know is that he doesn’t see anything wrong with you. You’re the girl he has fallen for, the one that holds a dear place in his heart, and you’re like an angel. All of this he has no problem whispering to you as he spoons you to sleep. Giving you soft kisses, his hand linked with yours, and holding you close to him. He isn’t as nice as Itachi is though, anyone who says something rude about your body? He is going to destroy them!! “You’re just perfect,” he coos to you gently.  ❤️
Sasuke Uchiha
Tumblr media
He knows he hasn’t done a great job of outwardly expressing his emotions to you, but he knows when he has got to speak up. This is for sure one of those times, “I don’t see anything wrong with you, flat chested or not you’re still...” he pauses, glancing away for a moment. It was rare to see Sasuke like this, especially blushing but what he said next made you feel like your heart stopped, “-the person who has made me the happiest I’ve been,” he said. He waits for your reaction, and even if you do feel better after, he does want to spend more time with you. Personally, he felt hurt that you felt this way towards yourself. So that’s why he’ll demonstrate just how much he loves your flat chest, tonight. ❤️
To all the flat chested girls out there. You all are beautiful, sweet, and amazing in your own way. Don’t feel insecure and stand proud. Don’t let anyone step over you because you’re awesome!!

Can I request modern au headcanons for wearing Sasuke’s clothes, t-shirt or boxer? What’s his reaction? Does he find reader cute or annoying?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SYNOPSIS: In the request above ^
WARNING(S): None
TYPE: Modern AU, Fluff
WORD COUNT: 503
NOTES: My first request!! Thank you for submitting this amazing request! It's my first ever list of headcanons, so I hope they are somewhat accurate to Sasuke's character. It was actually hard for me to not write a whole oneshot about it, so I hope it's good!
Tumblr media
Sasuke’s hoodie was an article of clothing that is worth getting your hands on. The softness of the inside was enough to put you into the same mood as if the real Sasuke was there, and it made you feel his company even if he were off at work or hanging out with Naruto.
The hoodie also had his genuine, fresh and clean smell embedded into the fabric, and no matter how often you wore it, you could smell him on it. This made it one hundred times better for whenever you were missing him during the day.
You were just cleaning the kitchen when the front door opened, unknowingly, to allow Sasuke to enter the home earlier than he usually would come home. He stepped into the kitchen, staying near the archway of the entrance when he spotted you immediately.
A fiery blush reached his cheeks upon noticing the familiar top you were wearing. It was a simple, black hoodie that he wore whenever he was out with Naruto or just chilling at home.
At first, Sasuke would be mentally questioning why you were wearing his clothes versus the entire wardrobe that belonged to you, and only you. He feels his fashion choice doesn’t fit to your standards as well, so he doesn’t understand why you would be wearing his hoodie.
After all of the questionable thoughts about why you were wearing his hoodie left his mind, Sasuke would unfreeze from his position and walk up to you with a plain look on his face. Bluntly, he would ask you, himself, why you were wearing it just to keep him from pondering on the subject any longer.
Of course, seeing as he literally came out of nowhere, you would yelp in shock and turn to find your man standing right behind you with a neutral face, as always. After collecting your breath, you just shrugged your shoulders and said, “It’s super comfy.”
At this closer distance, Sasuke would begin to look you up and down. Either you were wearing the hoodie by itself or you wore something underneath, it still made his heart pound rapidly inside of his chest. Somehow, seeing you in his clothes was giving him a new sense of emotion, something he found cute and admirable.
Definitely thinks you are adorable wearing his clothes whether it fits perfectly or is super loose on your body. A smile would come to Sasuke’s face when you explained why you felt the need to wear his hoodie, and he would pull you into an embrace.
Since he wasn’t close with his biological family members, having you in need of his presence was something that he took to heart. Sasuke felt at home whenever he was with you, and knowing you use his clothes to feel closer to him when he’s away makes him want to come back earlier to be there in person for you. Wearing his clothes was one of those ways of showing him that he means alot to you.

-----
The best year of Itachi's life goes something like this:
He's just turned twenty-three, is at his peak. Less missions fall on his shoulders, to make way for the training and the preparation. Yondaime takes him and Obito equally under his wing, to watch and observe and learn, exactly what goes into being Hokage. It's - very nearly peaceful. His pacifistic heart content to do naught but listen, to shake hands and share smiles, to squint at his endless notes from behind the glasses he only wears in the privacy of Minato's office. There is no stench of blood, nor is there the cry of death. He and his cousin are being prepared and groomed to lead and to advise, and perhaps one day to don the hat.
His family has always been a bit strained, but as Sasuke has grown into his own and their father has bowed beneath the strain of police chief and clan leader, allowing their mother to step up and assist his leadership - things have become far more smooth. They all laugh together when they sit for dinner; even if Itachi has too many things to do and not enough time, even if Fugaku is pulled away for longer hours, or Sasuke has another month-long mission with his squad - they all find their ways back home, where Mikoto waits with a put-upon sigh and a half-hearted slap with her dish towel. It's the most peaceful his childhood home has been since he could remember, and for the first time in his life Itachi actually looks forward to going home at the end of a long day.
He's in love; so stupidly, impossibly besotted, that there are some days that Itachi has genuinely no idea what he'd done to deserve such lightness in his chest. Shisui is his best and oldest friend, the one who cradles his hidden heart in scarred hands that have never once harmed him. Itachi loses himself in the hours spent at the Nakano, with his head on Shisui's chest and fingers tangled in long, silken hair. In the press of a smiling mouth against his, in the secret glances shared across a room.
He's - happy . He hadn't expected to find that for himself, not truly; his mind and heart perpetually at war since that first time his father had taken him to the field of battle and shown him what it meant to be a shinobi. A distaste for death and suffering even as he excelled in every aspect; a cruel irony he'd suffered with for most of his life. And then, impossibly, peace to be found. In protection, and not pointless violence. In loving and allowing himself to be loved, in watching his brother grow and thrive and smile. In facing the future, and knowing there's a place for one such as him.
-----
Itachi sits at a low desk, across the hall from the Hokage's office. His glasses slip down the bridge of his nose as he ducks low, double-checking the contract with a guild of builders for the new expansion to the library. He's always been meticulous to a fault, and he knows Obito will only glance over it before tossing Minato's seal of approval down without a thought.
He loves his cousin. Knows his heart is generous and warm, understands he would make a good leader. Obito's forte however, is not in paperwork. Though, Itachi supposes, that's the entire reason why he's here, sweating into his collar and frowning at a waist-high stack of documents. Only one will succeed Yondaime, and a Hokage never does anything alone.
A knock at the door makes his brow twitch as Itachi sits to full height, pulling his pen up and murmuring for them to enter. He straightens his spine and stifles a sharp cough pulling at his lungs, brows furrowed as he clears his throat through the burn. Yet when he glances at the opening door he still smiles, a small but genuine curve of his mouth, when Kakashi steps inside.
They chat for a bit, about plans for the pair of them and Obito to act as official representatives to Minato's interests in Iron. Delegation is something Yondaime is fond of, as his confidence and surety grows by the day in the two Uchiha. Just the thought of it brings a warmth to his chest, at the trust put in him and his cousin. He may have found a place, after so long spent wondering who, exactly, he was. Though the warmth might just be another flash of pain in his chest. Who knows.
Itachi is thankful to have his former senpai as company and firm pillar of support. His advice and quick wit is invaluable, even if he cracks wise about Itachi's glasses or has to be shooed from Minato's office when his hand wanders just a bit too low on Obito's back to be considered polite.
"You look a bit tired," Kakashi says with his usual air of indifference, though Itachi knows him well enough to tell he's frowning beneath the mask. Even at a distance, Itachi can see the way his hand twitches, as though he wishes to reach out a place a hand on his shoulder. "Maybe you should take a break -"
"I'm alright," Itachi responds with a wave of his hand, a look of impatience glancing across his features. He'd taken the world upon his shoulders since he was thirteen, and no tightening in his chest will change that. Stress, probably; but he flourishes beneath expectation, and wishes not to disappoint any around him. "It's probably just a cold, it's that time of year. Wasn't Obito sick a little while ago, too?" He adds by way of placation and distraction, cradling his chin in his palm and pulling the glasses from his nose.
Kakashi watches him in silence for a breath, dark eyes narrowing almost imperceptibly. Gives a soft hum beneath his breath, and then acquiesces. Cracks a deadpan joke about Obito being curled in bed and whining loudly whenever he's ill, the both of them smiling indulgently. He doesn't bring up the shadows beneath Itachi's eyes, nor does he mention the way he coughs into his elbow, more and more.
-----
The visits to the hospital are kept blessedly short. Itachi has little time for flowery words or dancing around the subject, especially that of his own life. He sits with spine straight and legs crossed, hands held carefully in his lap; the perfect portrait of heir to the Uchiha. He's polite to the nurses, summons a smile for any who catch his eye; knows gossip will dog his heels but he is nothing if not efficient. None will begin to guess, none will know the truth. Itachi makes no effort to hide himself when he visits the hospital, even with his distaste for the whispers and the stares; no one will know, he reminds himself for the hundredth time, and almost starts to believe it.
He goes, only because Shisui asked him to. Had held a tender hand to his cheek and looked right into his eyes, and mentioned that he could tell something was wrong. His breathing didn't sound right, which from anyone else would have made his spine stiffen. But it was Shisui - Itachi covered his hand with his, and nodded wordlessly.
-----
The direction of one's life can change in an instant. Anything can happen, at any moment; learning to adapt and to move forward is something drilled into the mind of every shinobi, in order to ensure the mission runs smoothly and bring victory without cost. Itachi's life has shifted many times over the years, but nothing could have prepared him for the reality of one simple test result.
-----
He doesn't put too much thought into himself, never has. His life has never been his alone, he's always been more a tool to be used, by village and clan. And he was content with that, with finding his own moments of peace and joy in amongst the pressures and expectations. He wishes, above all else, to do what he can for all he loves, and to stand tall beneath the weight on his shoulders. When things are out of his direct control, he wavers; he doesn't buckle, never has he and never will he, but there is that sharp annoyance digging tiny fingers into his temple when he realizes and understands that this time, he can do nothing. His quick mind and skilled hands left utterly useless, in the face of his own failing health.
Itachi's more annoyed than anything, as he thanks the doctor for her prognosis and her sympathies, takes the copy of his results and a slim file on treatment options, and leaves the room with brows furrowed. He has a plan for everything, meticulously laid out in his mind for every option, every path. But this - is not part of it.
And then reality crashes down around his shoulders, as he walks home from the hospital. Yesterday, he had his life ahead of him, surrounded by family and friends and a future that was as close to idyllic as he could fathom. Itachi stumbles a step as his eyes go wide, barely even noticing when his sharingan spins to life in automatic response to his suddenly embroiled emotions.
He cannot stifle the image of his family, when he tells them. Gasps and tears and mourning, horror etched on familiar faces and the tight grip of his mother's hand. He will leave Sasuke alone. His parents will outlive one of their children. And Shisui - expression falling and tears filling those soft brown eyes, that had looked at him from that very first moment with nothing but unending warmth.
Itachi does not mourn for himself. A part of him wonders if it's some sort of cosmic justice, for the lives he'd taken in the name of peace. He'd always comforted himself with the fact that the blood staining his hands since he was six years old was for the greater good; and now here he is, finding contentment and peace and staring down a life filled to the brim with those he loves and a future fulfilling his dream of peace.
Does he deserve to die? Maybe. His analytical mind spins just like the world around him as he crouches low to the ground, palm pressed tight to his mouth as nausea rolls in his stomach. The details don't matter, the guessing doesn't matter, nothing - nothing matters . He's going to die. And there's nothing he can do to stop it.
-----
He is expert at keeping a tight lid to his emotions; has long since perfected the serene look of someone at ease and in control. Itachi dons the familiar mask as he clears his throat and coughs delicately into his palm, ignoring the sharp tightening somewhere beneath his ribs. Relaxes his posture, and hides the documents in the back of his closet. Summons a smile for his family, and lies. He may not have planned for this, but he can plan around it. His family will mourn, but they will move on. There will be a different prodigy in ANBU, and Obito will have others to surround and encourage him. Itachi will never don the hat, or find the bravery and willful vulnerability to admit to all he's in love with his best friend, and will not watch Sasuke continue to grow into the man he knows he'll become. His story is merely coming to an early close, and he tries to find comfort in the fact that it could happen to anyone.
Itachi silently, secretly, lets some tears fall in the night. Whilst he sits up in bed, watching Shisui snore into his pillow beside him. He'll not grow old beside him, wont grow a family or share warm memories. He'd told Shisui the doctor had told him to take it easy with katon , with the beginnings of a chest cold brewing in his lungs. And Shisui had believed him, because of course he did; Itachi feels wretched, but he - he can't . He doesn't have the bravery to see the look on his beloved's face, when he's aware enough to know that if anything happens to Itachi then Shisui's world will crumble around him.
He stifles his emotions, wipes his tears, and curls against Shisui's back. Sleep doesn't find him, until the sun is cresting over the horizon.
-----
It is a difficult thing, to swallow one's pride and choose to admit certain weaknesses. Itachi requests Kakashi's presence for early in the morning at the Hokage Tower, and it speaks volumes to his former senpai's apparent concern that he is not late. Kakashi holds the door to Minato's office open for him, Itachi inclining his head in thanks, and then the pair of them are alone with the Yondaime.
They exchange pleasantries, but they can all sense a certain shroud of expectation hanging about the room. Minato waves a casual hand, his personal ANBU appearing in a cloud of smoke; she fists a hand against her breast and gives a quick bow, and Itachi watches as she silently leaves the room, the door clicking shut with a certain finality that does nothing to ease his hurried pulse.
And then they are alone, silence blanketing the room as both of his mentors turn to face him. Itachi breathes through his nose, and offers a low bow to his Hokage.
"I would first like to offer my apologies," Itachi begins in a low and dulcet tone, silently praying the ache in his lungs will not make itself known. "I know how much trust you've put in me, and it pains me to admit I am no longer suitable to work beneath you." The truth, absolute. He had allowed himself to - hope, really, that one day he would sit where Yondaime does.
Minato's eyes go wide, lashes fluttering as he studies Itachi with shock writ clear across his face. "I'm - sorry to hear that. Can I ask for elaboration?"
Itachi barely holds on to his sigh; he'd seen this coming, and with a quick glance to the door he takes a step forward. "This cannot leave this room, please."
Kakashi and Minato share a look, offering twin nods. Itachi feels another tightening in his chest, though blessedly it is from warmth, and not illness. "Thank you. I -" He pauses, the words refusing to come. They sit in a tight knot in his throat, a painful gathering of thorns that will not relent, when it comes to admitting his own failings and weakness. He chokes on a breath, feels that now-familiar burning in his lungs, and has to turn his head to cough harshly into his palm.
His shoulders shake from it, though Kakashi is there to place a welcome and steadying hand on his back. Shame still eats away at him, but Itachi knows neither he nor Minato will offer judgment. His breath rattles and his chest aches, but when he glances to his friend he is able to find his strength.
So - he tells them. Without pomp or spectacle, Itachi succinctly sums up that his long years spent with aching lungs has led to a dismal prognosis of barely a few months left to live. He's ever the pragmatist, and knows beyond any shadow of a doubt that they need to know, in order to prepare and find someone to replace him. Obito will learn in time, as well as the rest of his family, but for now - for now, he cannot bring himself to tell them. Instead chooses to confide professionally, compartmentalizing his own emotional reactions and holding them back.
Minato puts a hand to his shoulder when the room once more grows silent, deep blue eyes burning into Itachi with a naked grief. The pain he shows shouldn't be shocking; the Hokage is a deeply emotional man who cares much too much about those under his care, yet still Itachi nearly falters at the sheer breadth of warmth and affection.
"Anything you need," Minato says, " anything at all - you don't hesitate to come to me." His hand tightens on Itachi's slim shoulder, hard enough to bruise, and for a moment he wonders how he'd gone so long without realizing he'd been loved by more than he ever expected.
-----
Life continues as normal. He keeps returning to the Hokage Tower, to get things in order and gently nudge Obito in the direction of taking more responsibility. He takes missions when time permits, and keeps his secret. He still kisses Shisui goodbye in the mornings, still pokes Sasuke's forehead when they cross paths, still ducks into an empty room when a cough rips its way up his throat. Ignores the taste of iron lingering on his tongue, and carries on as though nothing is amiss. Surely, surely - he has time.
-----
The mission was run-of-the-mill, nothing to write home about. He'd spent three days on the eastern border, cleaning up after a nin gone rogue. Distasteful, but like a house of cards they all fall before his sharingan. It's almost a bore, at this point; he tries not to let his mind focus too hard on when he had become so disillusioned.
Shisui meets him at the gate, setting sun at his back and that wide, boyish grin on his face. Itachi returns his smile easily, and has to bite down hard on the inside of his cheek to keep from embracing him in plain view of the gate guards. Time, he thinks, is a fickle thing; he'd never dwelt on how precious it was, and is now suddenly starkly aware of how little he has left to ensure Shisui remembers just how loved he is, always has been.
He knows - of course he knows. But it wouldn't hurt to tell him, too. Itachi has always been soft-spoken yet eloquent, but when it comes to brutal honesty and feelings exposed he falters. He's getting maudlin as the illness creeps forward, and he barely suppresses a roll of his eyes.
They walk together towards the compound after Itachi gives his report of a mission success, Shisui filling the silence with poking and prodding questions about what Itachi had been up to. He answers as succinctly as he can, a small smile curving his mouth even as he pauses to cough into his elbow every few blocks.
"Just a small cough, from the dust in the road," he tells Shisui when his brows furrow with concern, hand on his elbow. The lie slips easily from his mouth, and Itachi apologizes for it with a quick kiss pressed to the corner of his mouth. Shisui goes pink from his ears to his neck, unaccustomed to open displays from him, spluttering on his breath and grinning that crooked grin. Itachi's only response a low laugh, hand brought up to cover his mirth and hide the sudden cough it brings with it.
When they reach his family home, stepping out of their shoes and calling greetings, Itachi catches sight of Sasuke lingering in the hall. His otouto frowns at him, and a guilty part of Itachi knows assuredly what irks him. Not enough time , he thinks once again; there was barely enough to split between all that he loves before , but now -
Shisui is already deep into the house, making Mikoto laugh and offering to help with dinner. Itachi hopes that these visits will continue once he's gone; Shisui's mother had been gone for many years now, and Mikoto was always in her element whilst hovering and smothering and doting on her sons. Shisui had slotted perfectly into their family, and he wishes for them to come together easily once more.
He steps further into the hall and offers a smile to Sasuke, wide and warm and genuine. His breathing comes harder but still he's happy to see his otouto, questions already brimming on the tip of his tongue. Had his last mission gone well? Has he perfected his genjutsu? Is he - is he happy ? He's rather desperate to hear that Sasuke is happy, Itachi realizes, as he lifts his arm aloft to poke his otouto in the middle of the forehead.
His hand trembles when he lifts it, vision narrowing into a clouded blur as in a blink there are two Sasukes in front of him. Odd, Itachi thinks to himself, as he stumbles forward a step and has to catch himself on the wall. The lurch of motion makes his head spin, pulse thundering in his ears as he feels, distantly, arms circling his chest that he suspects might be all that hold him upright.
But the pressure is cloying, tight and uncomfortable and Itachi feels the pain in his lungs swell. He squeezes his eyes closed to stave off the nausea, cough rocking up his throat and making his shoulders heave as he struggles for breath. Something wet catches in his mouth and he has enough presence of mind to feel ice in his veins. Not now, not yet, please, not now -
His knees fail him as Itachi coughs a fountain of red, rushing rampant from his tighttighttight lungs. A palm slapped over his mouth does nothing to stave it, to hide it or to slow it, his head continuing to spin. His sharingan spins to life as he blinks his eyes open, apologies and lies already bubbling to the forefront.
The last thing he knows is Sasuke's horrified expression, blood splattered across his cheek and his distant voice screaming Itachi's name.
-----
When Itachi wakes, it is to clinical white walls and the steady hum of machinery. He blinks away the haze slowly, limbs feeling sluggish and far too heavy, though his breath comes the easiest it has in months. He suspects he can thank the ventilator pressed into his nose for that.
Regret hangs heavy over him as he lays in the quiet, eyes gazing without seeing at the stained ceiling above him. He swallows around the sudden lump in his throat, shame an old and trusted friend as he silently curses himself for such rampant weakness, when all he'd wanted was to ensure his family's comfort and happiness.
There is movement in his periphery, and when Itachi glances to the side it is to find Shisui, sprawled out in a low metal chair, fast asleep. Fondness and worry tug equally at his heart, and he effortlessly finds the strength to push himself to sitting, trembling hand reaching out to rouse him.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Sasuke's voice makes him flinch, hand pulling back as Itachi whips his head to look at the door he hadn't noticed was open. His otouto watches him with a distinct fire burning low in his dark eyes, hands tightening into fists at his sides.
"I - thought I'd have more time," Itachi answers in a whisper, glancing sidelong at the still sleeping Shisui. His words hold no lies; even if he's omitting the part where he'd been too afraid to say anything for weeks, now, still he doesn't lie to Sasuke. Not now. Not when he'd borne witness to Itachi's failure, not when he'd had to suffer through watching Itachi nearly drown in his own blood.
" Bullshit ," Sasuke hisses at him, stepping further into the room and pointing a finger right at Itachi. "You've kept everything important from me for my whole life. You weren't going to tell me, not ever; you were just gonna wait until you were dead."
He can't even deny it. Itachi finds himself suddenly, utterly, exhausted. The pressure in his chest unfurls and a wracking cough takes the wind from his sails. Doubled over in bed he barely even notices the hand rubbing soothing motions up and down his back, but when he looks Shisui is there, something forlorn in his eyes and mouth pinched into a frown. When he catches his breath and turns to look, it is to see Sasuke standing close to the bedside, a shock of tears brightening his eyes.
Guilt gnaws at his bones as he struggles to lay back down, head spinning and throat dry. Shisui holds his hand, Sasuke wordlessly takes the other, and none of them speak until his parents enter the room.
-----
The days pass in a blur of muted pain and the constant flow of hushed activity. Loved ones come and go, and soon enough there are enough flowers on his windowsill and bedside tables to open a new florist. Itachi is kept medicated, very nearly sedated, until he can count the hours passing in coughing fits and exhausted bouts of sleep. His most illustrious visitor is Tsunade-hime, who offers her own gruff apologies when she admits his illness is too far along to be treated effectively, the only result to extend his life by a few weeks, perhaps, which they all know would be spent much the same. In bed, utterly useless and half-delirious, either feeling nothing or in pain. Itachi declines the offer for healing, too cowardly to meet Sasuke's eye across the room when he says the words.
The nights, however, are where Itachi finds his peace. Shisui refuses to leave the room, and when the hospital turns quiet and the lights switch off, he stretches out at Itachi's side in the small bed and pulls him to his chest. Sometimes they speak, sometimes they don't; Itachi feels gentle hands carding through his hair to lull him to sleep, ear pressed right above Shisui's heart. Steady and sure and continuing to beat; and his. Always his, as Shisui reminds him with reverent whispers before he kisses the breath from him.
It takes a week before Itachi tells him everything. How long he'd been struggling, how angry he truly is at fate's cruel hand. They speak of the life they wished to have, of the dreams of peace and days spent in laughter and in love. Itachi curls himself over Shisui's broad chest, shaking hands holding tight to his shirt, and tells him once more for good measure that he loves him. If tears soak the dark fabric of Shisui's shirt, neither of them breathe a word of it.
-----
There comes a day where Itachi can feel the burden of time resting heavy on his shoulders. His breath rattles through his thin chest, and he knows that he's wasting away to nothing. It's as though all his years, short as they may have been, have suddenly rushed forward to drag him down, and Itachi can feel his life slipping away.
He asks to speak alone with his brother, and when Sasuke sits at his bedside with wide eyes and an imperceptible tremble to his shoulders, Itachi finds his smile. It's a good, blessed thing, to know that he's honestly and truly loved , despite everything.
He does not look away from his otouto, does not hide from him or his teeming heart, refuses to keep him at a literal arm's length any longer. Instead Itachi watches the way Sasuke so clearly grieves for him, and feels an odd sense of contentment.
He has more regrets than he can count, but as the sands of time spill he knows now isn't the time to linger on them. Perhaps now is the time for truth; late as it is.
"It's been an honor to watch you grow," Itachi tells him, words spilling easily after so long of keeping them shut tight beneath his ribs from pride. "The greatest thing in my life has always been being your big brother; nothing, nothing , has made me happier. You've grown into a fine man, and will continue to do so."
His breathing hitches, which he blames on a cough pressed to his palm. Sasuke watches him, motionless and with his sharingan dimly glowing. Itachi isn't certain he even knows he's doing it.
Though his strength is failing, still he reaches out for his brother. Hand curved around the back of Sasuke's head, he drags him close until their foreheads press together. Sharing a breath, and a certain grief and connection that none could ever hope to put words to. Itachi's mouth quirks up as tears fill Sasuke's eyes, and when he speaks the words they are naught but a hushed whisper.
"I will love you, always."
-----
The best year of Itachi's life was ironically his last. He'd found happiness, and peace, despite the pain and the blood and the struggle; and passed surrounded by warmth and with a smile on his face.

according to what I read in one of your publications with young!sasuke,¿¡ is he capable of spying on us with itachi wherever we go ?! 😭😭
oooh god, honestly I would be dying of panic attacks knowing that that little imp is out judging any movement of ours 🤒
But what if Itachi's alpha had anxiety and panic attacks? ¿how would itachi react to that?
(anyway haha,¿how are you? I hope you're well <3)
Ahh, well Sasuke can't get everywhere, but he's certainly determined to try, and once Shisui joins him, his reach extends a lot lmao.
But if Itachi's alpha was suffering with some genuine anxiety about everything, I think he would take it a lot more seriously. He will not stand for his alpha's mental health being damaged from something he can fix.
First, he goes to Shisui. He explains that knows Shisui likes to mess with him, but that it's having a negative effect on his alpha and he needs to stop. Shisui does love teasing Itachi, but he's not a bully. He stops snooping and stops helping Sasuke spy. (He might bring this whole thing up to tease Itachi's alpha several years into the future though lol)
Getting Sasuke to stop is a little more difficult. Telling him that his stalking makes Itachi's alpha nervous will probably only encourage Sasuke tbh, so he have to take a different approach. I think Itachi would sit down with Sasuke and really talk to him about his behaviour. He would probably let Sasuke know how much he wanted to retire and stop being a ninja, even though he knows that revelation could confuse and probably hurt Sasuke.
Basically, Itachi takes it seriously. He knows how horrible a damaged mental health is, his will never be the same after what he's had to endure, and he refuses to stand by and watch his alpha suffer.
...
"Sasuke," Itachi started, addressing a 12-year-old Sasuke. He had dragged Sasuke into his bedroom for a discussion, and they were now both sitting on his bed together. "It's very important for me to talk with you about your behaviour with my mate."
"But they-" Sasuke immediately started, voice outraged.
"But they nothing," Itachi said firmly. "They have been nothing but kind to you, and they have been nothing but perfect to me. There is no reason for you to be tormenting us, and I know you're doing it on purpose, Sasuke, don't try to deny it."
"But they forced you to retire!" Sasuke shouted, losing his composure completely. "They make you stay at home! They are going to make you have pups against your will! It's awful! They're awful."
Tears started to gather around Sasuke's eyes. Itachi didn't know if they were frustrated tears or tears of sadness. Probably a combination, but either way, he couldn't help but soften at his younger brother's tears. His protectiveness really was sweet in a way.
"Calm down, Sasuke," Itachi gently ordered, reaching a hand to wipe away a tear, despite Sasuke's attempt to dodge it. "What makes you think they are forcing me to do any of that, hmm?"
"Because-Because you were the best ninja ever! Why would you choose to leave? It doesn't make sense unless they forced you!"
Itachi really didn't want to have this conversation with Sasuke. He knew how much Sasuke idolised him, idolised being a ninja in general, and he didn't want to shatter either of those views too harshly. And if he was being honest with himself, he also didn't want Sasuke view of him to change. Sasuke wasn't exactly subtle with his exclamations about how omegas who stay home and pop out pups for their alphas are stupid or being manipulated when Itachi first introduced his alpha. It... would hurt for Sasuke to start to think less of him for his decision.
"Just because someone is good at something, doesn't mean they like it," Itachi started carefully.
"What are you talking about?" Sasuke questioned, brows furrowed. "You were one of the youngest ninjas ever! You were so powerful!"
Itachi sighed and poked Sasuke in the forehead, smiling slightly at the glare he sent in return. How could he explain this without... saying too much.
"It was war... there were..." Itachi found himself frustrated at the lack of words forming. He didn't know what to say. Maybe he could talk around it. "I have worked my whole life, Sasuke, and after a while, it was clear that I wasn't happy with that. I thought about what I wanted to do and... I wanted to be at home, I wanted to spend more time with you, and I wanted to spend more time with my alpha."
"I don't understand," Sasuke whispered quietly, seemingly too taken aback by the raw emotion in Itachi's voice to shout anymore. He looked as uncomfortable as Itachi felt. Sasuke was only 12, maybe he should simplify it some more.
"Well, you're favourite food is tomatoes but I like dango instead," Itachi said, trying to keep his voice steady despite the nerves he had about what he was going to admit. "Which one of us is wrong?"
"No one, it's just opinion..." Sasuke replied, confused.
"Exactly. Being a ninja is what will make you happy, is that right?"
Sasuke nodded determinedly.
"I will be the most powerful ninja there is. I want to travel everywhere on missions, and lead teams just like you did!"
Itachi was silent for a moment before continuing.
"And... I want to stay at home," Itachi admitted quietly. "I want to worry about cooking and schedules and looking after my family. I don't want to worry about" -blood, death, his friends dying in front of him, the nightmares, the panic- "missions.
"Which one of us is wrong, Sasuke?"
Sasuke didn't answer. He avoided his brother's eyes by looking at his own lap. His silence was good. It proved that he had actually listened to Itachi for once.
"I want you to think about it," Itachi said, understanding that his brother needed to compartmentalise. "Come on, mother's making dinner tonight and I'm sure she could use some help."
Sasuke nodded, shoulders relaxing at the change of topic. He obediently followed Itachi out, quieter than Itachi had seen him in months.

(am i writing something about best friends again? yes. do i care? no)
𝒩𝒶𝓇𝓊𝓉𝑜:
Is the best kind of friend. He’s loyal, funny, kind and genuinely cares about the people in his life. What more could you possibly want?
He is the one you usually go to when you need a pick me up. It doesn’t even matter what’s wrong, when you come over and he sees the look on your face you’re immediately getting pulled into the biggest hug ever
Has such a way with words that you find yourself smiling or laughing in every situation, he’s just that good. Your friendship in general is all sunshine and rainbows and laughs lol
Speaking of! Naruto gives the best hugs ever and you can’t change my mind
He envelopes your whole body in a bear hug before picking you off the ground slightly and kind of just…holds you for a good minute or two. It’s very comforting
Is down to do everything you want, no matter how crazy it might sound. He’s adventurous like that and your presence makes everything better anyway
You can call him at 3 am and you best believe he’ll go and get ice cream with you
Gets very protective and stands up for you even when you’re not around
Always believes in you and your dreams, no matter how impossible they might look to others. He supports everything you do 100%
If you ever feel like giving up, he’s there to pick you and to encourage you to keep going
Because of that, you feel like the best version of yourself around him
Lowkey has a crush on you (and you totally made out once shh)
𝒮𝒶𝓀𝓊𝓇𝒶:
Sakura, my baby, she gives the best advice! You can come to her for everything and after an hour or so of talking all of your problems suddenly disappear or just don’t seem that serious anymore.
You guys often have sleepovers that consist of you gossiping about boys/girls or whatever’s been happening around the village lately
You don’t really get any sleep tho and just stay up laughing and eating junk food (be prepared bc after one of these nights, she’ll make you eat greens for like a week bc you don’t argue with a doctor)
Sometimes Ino joins you as well
She has the tendency to get very caught up in her work and everything she does in general so Sakura really appreciates it when you get her out of that state and force her to relax
Will get mani-pedis with you each month
Face masks and bath bombs are a must! (yes, with no context)
She will too resort to violence if someone dares to talk ill about you 😊 she’s even scarier than sasuke
Your opinion matters a lot to her so she comes to you for advice or even just a good talk as much as you come to her. You got each other’s backs always
Has meet all of your significant others and she only liked…one of them :(( the others she couldn’t stand lol
Is really, and I mean really good at reading people and their intentions so she understands right away when someone isn’t serious or just wants to play around with you (and she’s always right too)
(has tried to get you and Naruto together numerous times bc of that)
You definitely had a slight crush on all three of them at some point
𝒮𝒶𝓈𝓊𝓀𝑒:
Sasuke is just…Sasuke lmao (which means perfect jshgkj)
He is the best listener. Can listen to you vent about anything under the sun without interrupting once!
Tbh, you feel the most comfortable around him. You can let all of your emotions out, be it anger or sadness, bc you know he won’t ever judge you
His presence alone is very comforting and while he was rather awkward at first, with time he started comforting you with words and soft touches as well
Is not as adventurous as Naruto but you can rope him into some crazy shit too! Just ask
He is the one that you can chill on a roof with and watch the stars all night. That’s usually when talks about deeper topics happen and he finally doesn’t hold back
Remembers everything you tell him, no matter how insignificant it may be
Will slap a bitch for you no questions asked! Sasuke doesn’t jump to your defense impulsively like Naruto does but if something pisses him off, violence is suddenly the only answer 😊
We all know he isn’t one for physical affection but if you happen to hug him, he’ll NEVER push you off (but he won’t always return them either)
You guys have this thing where you get in his car and drive around for a few hours just to get away from everything
He will sometimes relax while resting his head on your lap. If you start playing with his hair he might even fall asleep
Will play the role of your fake boyfriend if you ever need one lol, and he doesn’t even ask any questions (he makes an amazing fake bf tho)
Your mom adores him

sorry if this is random but i was just curious about your thoughts on sai? i know you have a lot of thoughts on yamato fhdjdlfn and his and yamato’s relationship always seemed so interesting and really underdeveloped :[ theyre both really similar but yamato was able to get out of ROOT before sai was, and i was just wondering if you had any thoughts on that/him to share. sorry if this is weird or out of the blue djshfkfj love your art!!
that's not weird at all!!! actually the day u sent this question in i had finalized the thumbnails (and started on the pencils!) for a comic wherein Yamato comments on how Sai is handling his transition out of ROOT differently than Yamato himself did! I don't want to lay all my thoughts on that out here, because I think i'm much more clumsy with textposts than with comics, but I appreciate the question and I will share some thoughts!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
under a readmore tho bc. this got Long...comics force me to be concise but w/ a keyboard under my hands i just chatter
here's something I've been thinking abt! I think they had fundamentally different experiences in ROOT, and this is reflected in their attitudes towards Danzō, as well as the way they interact with the people outside of ROOT.
Sai seems to have no real loyalty to Danzō. He does what Danzō says because Danzō gives him his orders, when he practices his fake smile in front of Danzō, Danzō immediately tells him to cut that shit out. I don't think there's a lot of love lost there—when team Kakashi catches up to him in orochimaru's hideout, and they kind of confront him, and. also kind of. "give him the option" of abandoning his mission (and ROOT along with it) or. you know. facing shinobi consequences. he doesn't really seem to think much of it? honestly. i imagine he was probably a little more relieved than anything else. Add to that him remembering how he wanted to finish the drawing of his brother—
actually wait hang on thats another point I want to talk about. Sai was pitted against the person he was closest to in order to traumatize him into numbness! wack! I think that's kind of at the root (help.) of why I see him as a fundamentally angrier character than I see Yamato—and why I interpret some of his behavior not just as Not Knowing How People Work (although he does have trouble with this! it's a very different vibe. like. him trying to comfort Naruto and Naruto thinking Sai was coming onto him was an entirely different kind of situation) but as like. intentionally inflammatory sometimes...like. he's insulted the bodies of most of the people around him in one way or another, he knows it pisses them off, he does keep doing it. I think him Causing Problems On Purpose is sometimes just a way for him to try and experience catharsis for a fury he doesn't really know he's repressing. Like. idk. it's one thing to be forced to hurt yourself, that's deeply upsetting, disembodying, traumatizing, but it's another to be forced into a situation where you're to hurt somebody you love (regardless of the outcome) like. idk. its a kind of powerlessness that hits different at least ime, and frustration and resentment are extremely normal reactions to a situation like that. i think. a number of things could be appealing to him abt trying to get others to get angry at him—whether it's Him being the one to Cause another persons anger (which could confer a kind of. feeling of control) or him seeing himself reflected in their anger (like a "boy howdy i recognize this emotion. it's very clear. very understandable") or even seeing how they handle the anger. kishimoto definitely doesn't care nearly as much about Sai's anger. but i found the implication of it compelling as a kid, and I find it more compelling as an adult! anger can be an incredibly healing and protective force sometimes when dealing w/ trauma...and I wish kishimoto knew what he was writing about or that we got to see it explored more!!! ack!
yamato (as kinoe) had a wildly different experience when he was in ROOT.
we know he knew how to fight against sharingan, which. I think implies he was training in combat with Danzō, or that he worked closely with Danzō, or at the very least that Danzō used his sharingan on him. We also saw that (unlike Sai, who was rebuked for even fake-smiling) that Kinoe (at first) was not told to feel nothing, but instead instructed on how to feel by Danzō specifically. Like, mostly telling him to Feel Grateful etc, but I think him being told to experience specific feelings according to what Danzō thought was appropriate would lead to a different relationship with his emotions than Sai, who was told explicitly to repress them all at all times, and to not even attempt to preform them.
He also like. Thought. Highly. of Danzō, not just as a leader but as a person...it's kind of undeniable that Kinoe saw him as right, was willing to brand his own feelings and intuition wrong if it crossed Danzō's, openly sought Danzō's approval, when he fails his mission to secure Kakashi's eye, his reaction is. essentially immediately to return himself to Danzō to face whatever new dehumanization Danzō's got for him— even when Kakashi and Hiruzen drag him out of there he thanks Danzō for everything, and he seems genuine about it, despite. everything. He's more expressive than Sai for sure, He had like. a moment of anger, when he said that he wanted to be Tenzō, and Danzō denied him that basic self identification...but it's quickly squashed. Messy. Messy. I think. I think he has a little more trouble getting in touch w/ his anger than Sai bc of his emotional closeness to Danzō.
i think. because yamato knows that he was something more like Danzō's favorite, and that conveyed a vastly different experience than Sai's, he might feel a little complicated about being like "So...ROOT trauma, huh? Hell of a thing!" but. i also like to think that he's very quietly kind of trying to observe and support in a way which mostly allows Sai to figure himself out—I think when they are older they would probably talk about it more (also because then their tongue-seals will have finally disappeared. Thanks sasuke!), once Sai has close friends in the village and everything
Just a lot of like. "I have friendships down. I have teammates down, easily—but what am I to the old woman I buy my cabbages from. What degree of friendliness do I exhibit to her."
"I think...whatever you're comfortable with is fine. I know neither of us had particularly normal upbringings, but you don't have to execute every interaction perfectly for people to care about and respect you."
anyway god this is so long and soooo based in my own personal HCs. I hope there was something in here that was interesting to you!

Not only does the "emotional abuse" comic relief scene highlight how much of a good husband Ichigo is to Orihime. But it also indirectly does the same for Renji as Rukia is also not experiencing that lack of domestic bliss.
Also Ichigo's face kills me. Like, don't even SUGGEST that he mistreats Orihime. Meanwhile IRs want Ichigo to be neglectful like Sasuke so bad lmao
Unfortunately for them Kubo said no no, both couples are very much IN LOVE. And the first thing you're gonna see is Orihime with her child!
What's funny is that these people pretend to understand the IR bond and connection~~ sooo well and yet they don't even seem to get how this is yet another example of how Rukia likes to push Ichigo's buttons and annoy him (and she knew just the 'soft spot' to go after--something precious to him, his marriage to Orihime). Not to mention, Rukia is one of the most protective and defensive people over Orihime (except for Ichigo himself lmao)...do they really think if she genuinely thought he was being a shitty husband she would joke about it instead of giving him a serious admonishment? Also, like I said in my tags on an earlier post, it's a throwback to the first arc of bleach when Rukia would reference all these weird novels and soap operas she watched in order to better familiarize herself with modern society and the youths of today and Ichigo would be like "wtf are you talking about?"
But, antis have always had shitty reading comprehension, so I don't expect them to suddenly gain some understanding now lmao.
