Purpose: Harness the Phantom Ruby’s Power as a whole and eliminate Sonic the Hedgehog and Princess Blaze the Cat for the Eggman Empire.

MAIN CAST:

Sonic the Hedgehog

Recurrent Hero on Action, loved by many and hated by others, Sonic the Hedgehog aka “The Blue Blur” and “Fastest Thing Alive” has been assisting the entire world from the clutches of Dr. Eggman. Right after the events of Infinite vs. The Resistance, Sonic and Tails decided to get rid of any tracks of the menace that Infinite was. On their way inside one of Eggman’s many labs, they found not only traces of a new threat but also a young but cautious naïve girl that could be either their strongest ally or their worst foe.

Miles "Tails" Prower

With an IQ of 300 just like Dr. Eggman, this cunning yet smart young fox is Sonic’s adopted little brother and Hero in Action as well. With his skills and scientific knowledge, he was able to decipher the true origins of Project K and what was her original programming. With a bit of persuasion and compassion, Tails assisted Sonic in taking care of Project Katedown (actually known as Kookie Star) to not only “reprogram” her into not being a menace but an ally for the Restoration HQ.

Amelia Rose

Cute yet deadly, is the Pink Fury in Team Sonic and Co-Founder of the Restoration HQ along with Ex-Commander Knuckles the Echidna. With the unexpected appearance of the mysterious “Kookie” in their relationship, Amy has to deal with the jealousy and closeness of this girl to her boyfriend, Sonic. After a while and for the sake of this poor girl, she and Sonic had to give it a break, making not only Amy her Big Sister figure, but like a mother in some way to her.

Commander Shadow the Hedgehog

G.U.N.’s new Commander by choice, Shadow the Hedgehog (formerly known as Project Shadow) is the world’s “Ultimate Life Form”, rival of Sonic the Hedgehog and Kookie’s secret teacher. Shadow took the mission to observe and possibly assist Sonic in teaching the girl the art of Chaos Energy, and combat. Of course, his purpose is to fulfill this mission with the sole purpose of observation, and in case the situation gets dire, intervene in eliminating the girl if she poses a threat to humanity. However, thanks to her naivety and innocent demeanor, reminding him of his old friend, he decided to be softer and take care of the girl.

Princess Blaze the Cat

Princess of the Sol Dimension and guardian of the Sol Emeralds, who has sworn to protect everyone she deeply cares about no matter what. Ever since Kookie’s sudden appearance, she has been another important source of learning and trust just as Sonic has been for the girl. Being her 2nd teacher, after Sonic’s Speed Control teachings, the Princess has been teaching her how to control and use her Pyrokinesis Prowers properly, and also self-control and yoga teachings to help her have auto control over her powers and emotions-inducing rage outbursts.

However, it should be noted that the decision to end DVD and Blu-ray sales only extends to Australia. There has been no indication that Disney, or any other company, will end DVD or Blu-ray sales anywhere else. Once remaining copies of Disney DVDs and Blu-rays sell out, it looks like Australian fans will have to look to international markets to get their physical media fix.

So.. an experiment? A test? Let's see how many angry Australians try to burn down Disney HQ Australia before proceeding elsewhere?

Because you KNOW that's what the end game is gonna be. The studios hate physical media, and want us to pay recurring streaming fees every month forever.

The missing star

*ST-2199 HQ*

Arms crossed, leaning a shoulder against the doorframe, Kiergan is looking up at the stars, taking in their endless numbers, thinking about how as a child he used to believe that a star was the glowing presence of a person who'd died but stayed to watch over their loved ones. He sighs. A part of him wishes he still believed that.

Hauroko isn't the first Trooper he has lost in his time as a squad leader. Kiergan had felt the pain of every fallen Trooper in his squad and can remember every single one of their faces, young Michael maybe clearest of all, but... Hauroko was his friend. She and Leave-it were the best friends he ever had. No, Kiergan corrects himself, not friends, they were more family to him than the one he grew up with. They made his life make sense. Leave-it made him laugh while Hauroko kept Kiergan strong, and he swore to himself that he would keep them safe.

The singed pauldron he'd recovered on that barren landscape between rivers of lava will forever be an agonizing reminder of his failure; it is hard evidence that Kiergan will never hear Hauroko's voice or see her bright glorious smile ever again. She's gone. She's not even a star on the night sky, merely an invisible scar on his heart from a wound that will never truly heal. Hauroko is gone.

Kiergan dreads the day when Leave-it can't outrun his illness anymore and his laughter will be silenced as Hauroko's smile was erased. It will happen. It is happening, his medicine is having less and less of an effect and will eventually be useless and then he'll be gone too. The thought of both of them gone forever is too horrible to stand.

Maybe Leave-it and Hauroko will wait for Kiergan to join them in some kind of afterlife? And as Jana has everything under control here that means ST -2199 don't need Kiergan, not really, so when the day comes he'll be okay with dying.

Kiergan sighs again. Yeah, he'll be okay with it, but he would give his soul to have Hauroko here at this very moment. She would have known what to say to snap him out of his gloom. Hauroko always knew how to guide Kiergan out of the darkness when he got lost inside his own head.

Turning to go inside the castle, Kiergan nearly walks right into Yurei and comes dangerously close to having a heart attack. “For the love of...” Kiergan snaps, trying recover some dignity after the flailing and the startled yelp that just left his lips. “I swear, I'm putting a bell on you.”

Yurei grins. His eyes are as black as the sky above them and the tiny pinprick of light at the center of them look like dying stars instead of guardian angels. “I told you, you can put anything you'd like on me.”

Kiergan lets out an annoyed breath.“I'm not in the mood for your innuendos tonight, Yurei.”

Yurei sidesteps and blocks his path when Kiergan tries to go around him. His eyes are so very dark and the smile fades a bit as he states in a rather factual way; “You're sad.” He tilts his head a little. “Is it because the blond left?”

“No.” Kiergan glares. Is he still shocked that Leave-it and Zev'sonya had gotten married? Yes. Does the thought make him nervous and he wishes that Leave-it had married someone less... complicated? Unfortunately also yes. But his own feelings on Zev'sonya doesn't matter, what matters to Kiergan is whether his friend is happy and she, for whatever reason, makes Leave-it smile even brighter than before. Kiergan is pleased that Leave-it gets to travel with his new family and enjoy life rather than hide away with him while his limited days ticks away, not sad. “I'm sad because my friend died and I miss her.” He tries to move by Yurei again, but the man reaches out and places a hand on his arm and stops him

“Tell me about her.” Yurei says.

That, Kiergan did not expect. He frowns at him. “Why? You don't care that she's gone.”

“I don't.” Yurei admits readily enough. “But she mattered to you, and I care about you.”

Exhaling no small amount of frustration, Kiergan shifts his hand to shake off Yurei's grip and takes a step away to create some space between them. “Stop. Just stop it. Stop saying that.”

“But it's true.” Yurei insists, now with that eerie smile of his again.

“Why?” Kiergan snaps, out of patience. “Why me? You don't know me. You barely cast one glance my way when we first met before deciding to declare your eternal devotion and start grabbing my ass at any moment. Why me, dammit?”

Yurei's smile widens a tiny fraction and there is a bit of amusement in his bottomless eyes. “I didn't need more than a glance to conclude that you are the most beautiful creature I've ever seen.”

Kiergan scoffs. “If you're not going to tell me the truth, get out of my way.”

“I am telling you the truth.” Yurei claims with soft stubbornness. “I would never lie to you.”

And the really unsettling bit is that Kiergan believes him. Due to whatever crazy reasoning Yurei lives by, he wouldn't lie to him. “Yeah, well, maybe you shouldn't choose to devote yourself to someone simply based on their looks.”

Yurei tilts his head a little, still amused and not discouraged in any way. “Men devote their lives and die for lesser causes every day.”

That... Kiergan can't exactly argue against that. Hadn't he joined the Imperial army for an equally foolish reason? He closes his eyes and sighs. His heart aches and he misses his friends. “Just... please. I just can't deal with your weirdness right now. Please.”

Kiergan expects some more innuendos, maybe a lewd suggestion or two, but what he doesn't expect is the feeling of Yurei's hand gently cradling his neck and easing him forward to rest his head on Yurei's shoulder. Kiergan is too surprised by the gesture to object and merely stands there while the cool fingers on his neck warm up from the contact to his skin.

Yurei stands unmoving like a droid, probably copying a move he's seen others do rather than acting on what feels right, but awkward as it is; he is trying, even if it is in a language he doesn't speak.

Kiergan can't fight back a ghost of smile on his lips as the effort does make him feel a little better. As weird as Yurei might be, as unsettling as he definitely is, there is some good in him too. At least, Kiergan likes to think so?

And while the dark sky above them is riddled with stars, Yurei's eyes are even darker and with just a pinprick of light in them.

Chapter 1086 — The Five Elder Planets

What a great chapter to leave off on a break for! The theorizing will go wild…

First, Igaram's concern for Vivi is touching:

…while Pell and Chaka are looking out for their king, as the guardian deities of Arabasta should.

Something is in the air, if the faces of the other royals are anything to go by. They don't look like a happy bunch; rumours from the last leg of the Reverie?

Second, have I already said how much I love the WE HQ? It's a flying kettle! That shoots out News Coos!

I love it.

I wonder at what point Wapol caved and told Vivi what had happened to her dad. They said she'd been crying when they arrived at the WE HQ, so before current day events, but here he's still trying to deflect her questions. Maybe she figured it out from his denial? Maybe he just told her? Who knows (I want to know).

And then, totally unnecessary fandom speculation!

About a ship!

(Poor lil' Bonney. I'm sure being pint-sized helped her get aboard the ship easier, but it also underlines her quest: she is literally a child on her way to save her father.)

(By the way: in our universe, Tajine is a North African dish, also known as maraq or marqa.)

The drawing order and perspectives makes it look like Sabo is lying in the stem/front. Normally the sides mainly bulge outward from the keel, but here the planks curve distinctly up. However, when looking at traditional sailing ships, the shape doesn't work that way there:

The other explanation might be an assistant's perspective mistake when drawing the bilge, or Lulusia's ship has a quite rare inward-bulging bow.

One of the few examples I found is the dhow, an Arabic ship:

So either Lulusia has a really, really cool royal ship, or there's some perspective shenanigans going on.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled analysis.

So.

…the floor is so horribly at odds with the rest of the room. Just sayin'.

Presenting: the SECOND tangent of the post.

During the 15th to 17th centuries, so covering reneissance, baroque and rococo, intricate decorations were the thing to have. The exact style and execution varied, of course, but you still were supposed to have so much detailing all over the place, both due to structural reasons (hiding those load-bearing columns and beams and servants and such) and style (look at all the money I have to put on this stuff).

Pangea Castle looks quite a bit like the Château de Chambord, so smack dab French reneissance architecture. Normally, you'd do parquet floors in the fancier parts of the castle, which means geometric and rectangular, like so:

Of course, you could do circular, but then it'd probably be inspired by Roman mosaics, and thus geometric and repetitive, like so:

The floor in Pangea Castle is… just weird. I know there's probably art-related reasons for it (looks interesting, not as boring as a grid, etc), but the polka dot pattern really sticks out.

End of second tangent, s'il vous plaît.

Oda truly is a master storyteller.

The readers have been going bonkers for a few months now, trying to figure out what Devil Fruit powers Imu has based on the complete eradication of Lulusia. Is it star power? Is it nuclear? Is it pure light? Is it something completely different?

And then it turns out to be the One Piece-version of nuclear weapons, completing the parallells between Vegapunk and Einstein: both brilliant scientists who wanted to work for peace and the good of humanity, but whose insights were quickly weaponised.

It i also interesting to see how quick the Five Elders are to accept that Imu wants to eradicate a whole kingdom who is part of the World Government. I figure this might lead to more rebellion. After all, what is it worth to be a member of the WG if you're still not protected against horrible acts of violence? The only reason shown so far for people want to join the WG is based on pirates and the navy: they get protection and pay for the Celestial Dragons upkeep. I can't see this continuing much longer when the news about Lulusia get out – because at least Vegapunk will put two and two together. It was his invention being used, after all.

We have names!

Which might change when the official translation comes out!

But still. Interesting selections. Finance might comprise all financial activity, but why is then agriculture (food production) separate from environment (nature itself)? Mercantile activity is quite far from macroeconomic theories, which makes the lumping of all economic stuff under one heading quite interesting.

THERE IS A S-FLAMINGO!

My life is now complete.

I wonder why S-Croc looks so sad, though. S-Gecko and S-Flamingo looks like they're having the time of their lives, after all.

Also: what powers do they have? All the possibilities!

I wonder what Dragon is wondering about. He has a lot of ellipses this chapter and few words to spare. Does he agree with Sabo's decision to keep silent and live the lie? Does he disapprove? What does Iva-chan think about it all?

Ancient weapon, my old friend? The Arc Maxim 2.0? Something Completely Different?

Jumping a bit, but Iva puts all our thoughts into words here so neatly:

In Egghead, Vegapunk says it's his dream to create the ultimate energy source. However, he doesn't say he's managed to do so yet: he's still working towards it. Therefore the thing Sabo saw probably wasn't an ancient weapon – or if it was, it wasn't at full power. Or then it was a "fire once and find another mother flame"-solution.

Whatever it was, it was horrible news for the people of Lulusia.

And then: the identity of Imu.

There's so many theories going on, tying Imu to the Roman emperor Nero or the city of Verona or the small coastal village of Nerano , also in Italy. From where we get to another Roman emperor, who is actually called Nerona: Tiberio Nerone, also known as Tiberius, an able politician who spent his last years on the island of Capri.

I'm sure we'll see where Oda draws his inspiration from sooner or later.

And the other big reveal of the chapter: the Figarland family.

(I don't think Oda will kill off Mjosgard. He is sentenced, he is not dead yet. Will the solution be banishment, a figurative death? We'll see, I'm sure.)

(Edit: The cake line had me wheezing. Seriously. Scared the cat.)

I haven't seen Film Red yet, but as I gather from others, it's revealed that Shanks is a Figarland. He was also found on God Valley by Roger, so putting two and two together, we get a family connection.

However, what I'm interested in is the rankings of Celestial Dragons.

a) Saint Figarland Garling was a king

b) He is a Celestial Dragon

c) He has the power to be both judge, jury and probably executioner

How does it all fit together?

CDs are hitherto shown to just laze around in Mary Geoise and sometimes descend into the plebeian world for their own amusement. None of them is shown to be involved in the world as kings – that's the thing they specifically abdicated from 800 years ago. So why was Figarland a king? What was his role on God Valley – and what was God Valley?

So interesting! Much to think about.

I had the autistic impulse to map my fandom timeline instead of doing the dishes, so here is the result.

Hopefully it's okay to ask you a question because I'm wondering do you know why Gamora hasn't been included in the vol 3 merch? I ran across some stuff a while ago and when she wasn't included I assumed it was just a one off incident. But I just ran across some other merch and she's still absent. So I'm not sure if they are waiting for the movie to create merch for her or what

Firstly, it's always okay to ask me questions about this stuff! I love talking about film marketing (I did study this stuff for 2 years after all). Always feel free to send me asks about anything!

As for your question here's my honest answer: I'm not entirely sure. There are a few logical conclusions though.

Spoilers. Historically the first wave of MCU merch is very clean when it comes to the events of the movie, only featuring characters we know will be in it and vague aesthetics that align with the plot. So far the main advertisements and merch for Vol 3 have featured the Guardians in their comic-accurate group suits, which we haven't seen Gamora in. She might end up getting that suit in the movie, but we have no idea and that would be a major spoiler, so it's easier to leave her out of cereal box promotions and toy box art to keep that unified aesthetic.

Along the same lines as spoilers but deserving of their own point is the LEGO sets. LEGO sets are 50/50 when it comes to being accurate to the events of the movie because again, spoilers. The Endgame sets they released to go along with the movie had absolutely nothing to do with the actual plot because sets get leaked so often and Disney didn't want the plot of their biggest superhero movie ever to be ruined. The Wakanda Forever and Multiverse of Madness sets were also pretty vague if I remember correctly. It's easiest to leave Gamora out of sets like the Guardians HQ or the Bowie because while she might actually be in those scenes, we won't know until the movie comes out (we can assume she'll be on the Bowie at one point based on that shot of her pulling out a knife but it's not official). Since the LEGO sets and toy lines release weeks before the movies, it's again easier to exclude Gamora from these first waves of merch.

The historically bad representation of Gamora on merch already. Outside of figures like Funko Pops and Marvel Legends, it's always been nearly impossible to find officially licensed merch of just Gamora, especially cute good looking merch. This has also been an issue with most of the MCU's female heroes but it's definitely gotten better these past few years. Unfortunately due to Gamora's role in Vol 3 being pretty secretive, that positive change doesn't get to apply to her this first wave.

So basically TL;DR, don't stress about this too much. We're still 2 months out from the movie's release and a month away from promo and press starting. Yes, it sucks that so far Gamora isn't being featured in anything outside of posters and trailers, and yes it's valid to be upset and frustrated with that. But remember that there's still a whole other wave of merch to come after the movie's release, and Zoe Saldaña is still second-billed. She and Chris Pratt were the last two (humans) to wrap the movie. James Gunn wouldn't have brought Gamora back if he didn't want to. If you're still feeling uneasy or worried (which I totally get!) @enigma731 has some great posts about why Gamora will be fine.

Sorry this is so damn long, I kinda got carried away lol. But yeah I do wish there was at least like a Funko Pop or something and find it ridiculous that Kraglin of all people is getting more merch than the female lead, but I'm personally not getting too worried right now because we still have two months until the movie. It's not looking completely terrible right now. (Trust me, I was a Star Wars sequels stan during 2019 TROS press. That movie's plot was leaked via an official German Burger King ad. If it ever gets that bad for Vol 3 you will definitely hear about it from me lol).
