The Healing and Oracular Roles in the New Longstar AU
The Healer
Healers are the doctors and nurses of the clans, keeping everyone healthy.  They know what herb treats each kind of illness, and how to tell if someone is pregnant.  Healers keep a den of herbs, fresh or dry or powdered, and usually spend their days treating patients and keeping everything organized.  Some Warriors scoff at seeing their Healers sunbathing, but many Healers are overworked and need a break.  Not every scrape deserves all the drama of a broken bone.  Healers are encouraged to not take mates or have kits, but it being a rule is beginning to change…
The Seer
Seers are in touch with the Stars themselves, eyes lined with stardust and possibilities.  They can see signs in the smallest of places, speak to the dead (both Geist and Star-Guide), and know the future through cryptic Prophecies.  Many Seers are also trained to be Healers, making up the role -The Oracular Healer-, but rarely a Seer will be in a different role altogether.  There are old tales of a Tracker Seer who Saw a fox attack and prevented it, but nowadays most Seers are forced into Healer or Support roles, like Herbalist or Historian.  That may change in the future, as a new role is emerging…
The Therapist Healer
Therapists are healers of the mind, seeking to understand how trauma shapes a cat, and how to help them heal.  Pioneered by Thunderclan’s Darkmoon, all the clans are now trying this new role out, to some extent. The elders may quibble and bemoan how in their day you just Got Over It, but seeing as some of them still shake at the sight of a spiked collar or the sound of a dog howling, they are very wrong.

A year ago, I met my therapist who gave me my BPD diagnosis. It was a true blessing because without that diagnosis, I wouldn't have received treatment for BPD. Getting that diagnosis was truly life changing because for almost 2 decades I felt out of place for being hypersensitive. My therapist was incredibly patient and compassionate when it came to treating me.
