I'm not sure how many people pay attention to this, but Astarions tent area (inside and out) is not just blood splattered and mildly disorganized:

1) Dirty rags, blood and wine spills, rugs and pillows a bit haphazard, no proper bedding inside, empty blood bank jars everywhere, sleeps on a wooden palette rather than a bed roll

But the actual tent (yes I zoomed in and stared heavily at it shdjghfhdj)

It dirty.

It's SPLATTERED with dried mud and dirt, and I also noticed in comparison to his companions his tent is fairly small? And also kinda limp like he didn't wanna bother putting it up.

I bet this man hates putting together and tearing down camp SO MUCH that he just does the bare minimum and then trashes the place anyway. He's not going to voluntarily do laundry, he's not gonna clean the canvas, he's just here to put his shit together in some barely passable way.

And sure the exterior shows how he tries to decorate it in a way that's presentable, but he's decorating with dirty shit he won't scrub 😂

People, myself included to some degree, have chatted about why he is messy trauma wise but honestly I'm coming to the realization that he probably was, even in life, surrounded by servants to some degree.

He gives the air of being from money

I bet this little fool has never in his life had to wash his own clothes or clean a room. Even as a slave, when he was in Cazadors mansion he got trotted between the bunks where he only had minimal space to rest, (and a bunch of siblings he could probably manipulate into washing his socks for him if the servants didn't do it automatically ) and the Boudoir where he was to Look Pretty and Bend Over as requested

He never scrubbed floors in his life

Man's has never once cleaned a toilet

Astarion is living evidence that you can be severely neglected and abused while ALSO being 'spoiled' (in the sense that he never got to develop life skills bc the servants did it for him)

This really ties in with his personality and I think it's a nice touch. Cause what does he focus on keeping clean? HIM. He can do his hair, body washed, clothing IMPECCABLE. Man kept a shirt together for over a century without a single stain on it. But his SPACE ? His THINGS? neglected to the extreme

But yeah anyway, his tent is DIRTY and I'm pretty sure was originally a much more vibrant color too. Zoom in next time you get to camp you'll see what I mean

Hi hello it seems I’ve caught a rare strain of art block that makes me unable to draw in anything other than Kid Pix Deluxe 4™, but I still need to buy groceries and stuff so!! I’m gonna try my hand at some experimental commissions.

If you have some kind of whimsical OC and you want me to let me loose on them, now’s your chance! Give me a character and I will cook up something cool — there's no pose/style/background tiers, though I will try to put an equal amount of effort into every drawing.

You can give me some brief prompting (e.g. “I’d like a drawing of my wizard OC casting some kind of spell”, “Can you work in some robot/tech motifs?” etc.) – or give me free rein, if you’d prefer.

I will need a minimum of one visual reference of the character’s design, but the more material I have to work from, the better! Tell me about their lore, what they’re like, their associated themes and motifs, all that jazz! Show me their aesthetic moodboards, the funnie tumblr textposts you associate with them, their playlist even.

As the nature of the program makes revisions difficult, I might turn down a request if I do not feel confident that I can compose a satisfactory piece from the provided material.

Once we’ve worked out all the details, I will send you a link to a PayPal invoice. I will not begin working on the piece until payment has been recieved.

Please note that I won't be providing WIPs! I can show you my initial sketch for the composition if you'd like, but after that the end result will be a suprise.

Once completed, I will send you a link to a drive containing the resized drawing in the form of a .png, as well as the original 665 x 477 bitmap.

Once payment has been received and I have begun working on the piece I cannot refund it. However, if I for any reason have to cancel the commission from my side I will refund it fully, regardless of level of completion.

Some limitations of the program (good to keep in mind!):

No layers

One (1) level of undo

Image size: The Kid Pix 4 drawing area is 665 x 477 pixels. I scale up the final image file x4 to make it more compatible with the modern internet, but the drawing itself will still be crunchy. That’s part of the charm! (I can also make the image dimensions 1:1, if requested.)

Colors: It is possible for me to create hues outside of the palette provided by the program, but replicating colors precisely can be tricky. Expect stylization.

Was deciding between cheers and fool for what I thought was the brightest/most upbeat as well as a few others, when I realized that existential crisis is made up of dark greys and near blacks. Black being Kouhei’s favorite color, I then thought mwah was a no-brainer, being the brightest/most upbeat of the pink palettes. They’ve swapped favorites, haha.

At first, I was gonna leave the pic on his phone the original colors, but it looked a little too out of place. I just put a blending layer on top, hope that’s okay.

almost paradise outfit references

alright so this is for those y’all who are interested (thank you to @thenerdygorl​ for unintentionally requesting this. i am happy to scream about any and all little details regarding the fic so this gave me the push i needed to do this masterpost LMAO)

obviously this is just what i’ve pictured when writing the character of the reader and her style evolution throughout the series. also this is just meant to give you a vibe for the fits, none of this is like ‘THIS IS WHAT SHE WEARS PERIOD’. although we can’t see her, clothes have an incredible effect on storytelling and character development, so i have always had this in mind when writing. the clothing evolution from s1-s4 would tell the story of the reader’s character development from the judgemental, slightly pretentious, on the fringe of high school society girl we meet originally to the now vulnerable and incredibly lovesick woman that lets steve harrington hold her heart in his hands. i pray this is reflected in what is shown here - i am by no means a fashion expert or costume designer lmao. some of what i was influenced by is discussed in the incredible video by gq where amy parris (the lead costume designer) explains how she created looks for some of the characters in the show, like keeping the hawkins gang within a earthy color palette except for certain characters. ANYWAYS enough rambling.

season one:

season 1 oh boy. depression and confusion central. high school sucks. she has only one goal - get through this. college is right around the corner. due to this, fashion/looking good is by no means the priority, but it’s not not thought of. so... darker colors with only a hint of personality, hence the deviation from the typical stereotype of all black.

a large part of this fic is the importance of knowing someone for who they really are. the colors here, again not all black, reference the reader’s true personality that lies beneath the surface - the personality that certain people have cared enough to see, while also being the only people the reader is willing to let in. she can be hostile to those she despises, but incredibly warm and maternal. a select few people get to see that side of her.

babes needs a couple good jackets (this is stranger things) so literally any leather and/or heavy fleece lined denim will do. maybe there’s a lil denim on denim action since it’s an easy outfit and she’d manage to pull it off. also boots. hiking, combat, i don’t care. it adds to the tough exterior. tee shirts, thin turtle necks, tees layered with a long sleeve under it under the jacket. but important to note - you’re not hiding under your clothes, there’s a shape/figure there.

season two:

cindy crawford’s late ‘80s/early ‘90s looks are doing a lot of heavy lifting here in my inspo. they’re classic looks so they’re gonna look good no matter the era. the outfit inspo itself doesn’t change between seasons 1 and 2 but the colors do. as you can see... we get a lil bit more vibrant here. nothing too crazy, but had to include a burnt orange for the halloween vibes. the lighter blue and grey are thanks to letting a certain boy into her life - his friendship (and looove) gives her that tiny confidence boost that she doesn’t even recognize.

that being said... she starts wearing sneakers more often. nothing as bright as steve’s but his influence is apparent. she pulls out her old pair of nikes and finds them more comfortable than the boots she’s so used to trudging around in.

season three:

this is self explanatory lmao. lifeguard uniform the entire time accompanied by a pair of white reeboks and some midrise socks! would be absolutely iconic next to the scoops uniform, argue with the wall.

season four:

my personal favorite. this is where the most personal growth has happened. the colors are brighter, reflecting her willingness to be honest and more in tune with her emotions. the jackets have been mostly ditched due to the warmer weather. this is the most confident she’s ever been, and her clothes show that. tighter sweaters, more comfortable sneakers.

but when shit hits the fan, forget it. we’re back in action hero mode. sarah fucking connor. ellen fucking ripley. tanks and dark pants. the boots come back. a flight suit courtesy of war zone, the top half tied around her waist until it’s time to face vecna. bulletproof vest. it’s about practicality and comfort, but she looks incredible. i want her to step on me.

hair:

honestly just choose your fighter. just know that the hair gets bigger and more luscious the longer she’s with steve (you can’t tell me that she doesn’t steal parts or almost all of his hair care routine). i don’t describe hair for obvious reasons so you can imagine whatever hairstyle, texture, length, etc.

anyways this was super fun for me to get out there into the world. again, if you’ve had any kind of questions like this and you’re curious to know the answer, I WILL TELL YOU!! i have the answer to every single question could have about the fic. hope y’all enjoyed my rant!

Hi! I saw you recently posted Harringrove social media au fan fiction.

I'm a Harringrove fan, so I very much would've liked to read it. Unfortunately I can't bc the text was forcedly colored black. I use dark mode on app and desktop because of readability (I can't see properly even with glasses) and the black text can't be read on dark mode. Yes I can switch to normal palette to read it and I will.

But just as a small request for the future, when you write more (and I wish you do, don't take this as a criticism against your writing please, this isn't that, just a technical thing) could you please either use the colors tumblr offers or then just leave the text normal? Then tumblr changes the text into white on dark mode automatically. It helps us other fans to read it, enjoy it, and spread it further.

6. What do you use to keep your place when you’re reading a book?

HMM WELL if it’s meant here what object do I use to mark a page where I stopped reading, then most often it’s a paper bookmark. Either one of those which I got in one Paris museum/gallery this year which I REALLY loved visiting, or some simpler ones which are usually given together with a book purchases at stores. I love the former ones so much, they’re very neat; they are basically fragments of works which I loved seeing irl, and I like matching them with the books where I use them. I also recalled about one plastic holographic bookmark with nebulas which I had a while ago and which was VERY neat, but I think it’s somewhere in my books which are either in storage, or in a Kyiv flat where I still haven’t returned to since my family left it after an invasion

Oohhoh WEll I absolutely adore works by Alphonse Mucha, also William Morrisʼs prints. And I like different elements of art nouveau and art deco, some Renaissance elements in architecture too.. Some brutalist architecture is interesting to me as well; so honestly I love a lot of different bits and pieces from different time periods and cultures. I also really like some of the classicism paintings, OH and dutch floral still-life paintings I’m obsessed with them. I love some of Andy Warhol’s prints too, especially some of his traced drawings and works with a smaller color palette. I looove antique statues, I always want to draw them lol; omg Gustav Dore’s illustrations are gorgeous. I love collages a LoT too, especially those from the times when they were just starting to become a thing. I like vintage concert and some movie posters a lot too. It’s a lot truly, I’m pretty sure I forgot about something here ahhhah

39. What was the best part of your day today?

Well I started writing the response to this yesterday so I will just continue the trend sjsjjks

There were two best parts for me yesterday; the first one was when I was sitting together with my family while we were waiting for our orders, and I thought that it’s actually the first time that we are all (parents and my sister) are reunited after being separated since we left Kyiv in February 2022; dad can’t leave the country while the stupid war is still ongoing. I visited him separately last year, and so did my sister this year, but yes it’s actually the first time that we are all actually together since that time; and even though because of my parents’ divorce it’s a somewhat different, it’s still a very nice feeling. When we don’t fight snsnjsjsjsnsj These are the people I grew up with, it’s something that’s definitely a huge part of who I am today too

The second moment was when I came home after finding a pair of really nice trousers; the thing is, there’s one factory here which makes clothes for different clients worldwide. And sometimes, when certain details in some items aren’t done as they should have been done, according to client’s request (like, for instance a different type of a thread used for stitching), they are just sold in a store by a factory. So as I’ve mentioned I’ve found a pair of dark brown wide trousers yesterday and a dark blue shirt; SO when I came home, I took a closer look at the trousers and.. buttons on them had a brand name which definitely doesn’t sell their trousers for 15 euros sO that made me happy sjsjsjsjjs I do think that the trousers turned out to be of that brand, I think it’s the zipper which originally was supposed to be different

40. What’s your favorite kind of tree?

OH since I was a kid I LOVED trees which I can climb and where I can sit. I remember having a soft spot for willows; they can be climbed easily and also their long supple branches are therapeutic to look at or to touch. I also like huge old trees with big strong low-hanging branches where, yes, you can sit. Also, I love big fruit trees under which you can sit in a shade in summers. OH I almost forgot about blooming trees, sakuras especially. Like please tell me how can you not like them

I actually had a couple of requests to do a redesign of the winx club. I was originally only gonna do Tecna and Musa, but I ended up doing sketched for the rest of the girls too and with Fate coming out not that long ago I figured now’d be a good time to post them.

Everyone gets fairy ears that are common in their respective magic dimension.( Bloom’s ears are still fairy ears they just look similar to human ears. Musa’s ears look like some mix of Stella and Flora, but it looks like they’ve been clipped on the sides.) None of their outfits really match, but that’s fine cause what connects them this that sparkly mesh material.

Tecna: oh boy I’m really not good with that technical/digital aesthetic with clothing, so I don’t think I really knew what I was doing with her. I never liked Tecna’s original design, so I kinda designed her with the idea of ‘ What would make her look cool to me?' I did always like her wings though so I wanted to look similar to her original ones.

Musa: She originally had baggy pants and a cropped spaghetti strap shirt with a red mesh shirt over it, but I thought that look was done alot with other people’s designs, so I opted to give her a baggy jacket + skirt and sheer leggings instead. Her wings are records and the bottom part is supposed to be reminiscent of sheet music (I know there are more lines lol) It’s a little on the nose, but I don’t care cause it’s cute.

Aisha/Layla: Aisha was probably the hardest to design cause I really didn’t know what I was doing with her. Her sketch has a skirt with a cloud looking hem, that was supposed to be like seafoam. I ended up scrapping that though cause I thought the skirt looked kinda ugly and didn’t fit with all the other designs. She ended up getting pants with sheer flowy legs. I still think the teal part of her pants are a little plain, but I still think it looks better than the skirt. I was gonna lean her color palette towards blue cause her original outfit was just straight green? Turns out the green can work if you pair it with other oceany colors. Her wings are basic butterfly because water looking wings are hard to draw.

Flora: She had the best costume in my opinion, so I just added stuff to what she had already. The middle segment of her dress was meant to look like a petal as were her wings. When I was coloring her was about the time I decided everyone gets a sheer sparkly clothing piece, so there’s some sort of correlation happening. 

Stella: Blue, added lots of blue. She represents the sun and moon, but there is hardly any moon in her design. She almost had heterochromia, but I thought that was too much blue. And yeah I know gladiator/goddess Stella is overdone, but it works well for her. Also I thought it’s be fun if the fashionista of the group was also the fighter. Get you a girl who can do both. Dragonfly wings cause I think they fit, maybe I should’ve gone with moth wings?

Bloom: I can’t remember what, but I know Bloom had a trait about her that was related to a dragon, so she gets a medieval aesthetic. Knight armor + princess skirt and crown + dragon/fire inspired wings. Bloom’s also supposed to look more plain jane in design compared to everyone else.
