Today's entry really solidifies how much different Mina is from the typical horror heroine - although she doesn't immediately believe everything in Jonathan's journal, she doesn't dismiss it outright and entertains the possibility that everything he wrote was true, not just hallucinations. She even starts transcribing it in case someone else might need to read it. Just. Absolutely the most hinged person in this novel. Nobody's doing it like her.

something shifts in hermione in prisoner of azkaban. the pink-sweater blue-jeans outfit brings out the fire in her and she’s suddenly way more than the brains-only-academic-scholar that everybody has come to know.

and it’s INCREDIBLE.

the fact that she’s been using the time-turner all year to make her classes, the so-deserved malfoy punch, her stepping between sirius and harry (while they still thought he was going to kill harry), the whole process of risking everything while on the rescue-buckbeak mission and throwing rocks to get their attention, luring a werewolf in their direction to get him away from harry and sirius, etc etc etc.

we obviously knew that she was wise and smart and stuff, but the bravery, courage and loyalty that landed her in gryffindor really came out in this movie and it was so refreshing to see.

Hello fellow DPS enjoyers, it is I, everyone’s favorite local idiot. I’ve returned.

Anyway, I love how what it took for me to get back into this account and the DPS fandom full force was seeing Ethan Hawke’s new movie that he’s in called The Black Phone (which by the way, mans did an incredible job in that film and I really liked it aside from the resurfacing trauma it caused me to experience from various points of my life from the same life figures. I attract bad parental figures haha) (if there’s one thing most people know about me it’s that if a film has Robert Sean Leonard or Ethan Hawke in it I’m seeing that movie as soon as it comes out)

But then I remembered that this incredibly talented,amazing man is the same blessing who brought our dearest beloved blonde boy Todd to us. And it’s all ok now.

(there will still be a post tomorrow to keep on track) #The original 3 panel comic idea was fine but the point of this new schedule was to take time to push myself a bit more. #I was taking a look back through some comic artists I felt inspired by #and I really loved how Lynda Barry fills her gutters with patterns and doodles! #Obviously I'm not going as absolutely wild with it as she does but it was a great exercise! #I truly think the gutters are the most important and most overlooked part of any comic. There's lots going on in that space. #It's the same with timeskips. The implied movement between moments that we don't see changes depending on how wide that gap is #You're here for the funny tags so here's some that ties this time talk together: #I think LWJ was thinking about that second note from day 2 but it took him 7 days of hazing to commit it to paper. #I think he sends it a day later and immediately regrets it. Chasing down the messenger and everything. #You know if something actually happened to his brother he would never ever forgive himself for putting the bad vibes out there. #Third time skip was the hardest because there was so many possible flavours of jokes here. Day 8/9 was a personal favourite. #day 14 was also funny (week by week). I think the debate on 'how long does lwj take to catch feelings' is more or less: #'how long does it take for him to arrive at a particular stage of grief and yearning (and awareness of it all) #This is a symphony. There is an act by act structure. Every day he is fighting to keep his old sensibilities. He is losing so badly. #(I'll be returning to the main comic soon but there is more of this AU to come!)

Characters.

Periodic reminder that unless a person specifically and clearly tells you it is okay to tell others they are trans or queer, you should err on the side of caution and assume they do not want you to tell people (especially random people!) about their transness or queerness.

You have no idea, generally, why somebody doesn't talk openly about their trans or queer status, and you have no idea, truly, how somebody might react to that information. The most progressive person out there is still capable of harbouring incredibly negative thoughts about somebody's queer status.
