Exam Revision Day 11: 26/10/2023
I didn't do much today sadly, did some study notes for Politics Unit 1 AOS 2, and did 6 multiple choice questions for psychology. I got distracted by starting to write a story
Song that got me through today: The Kids Aren't Alright by The Offspring

Valentine's Core Exchange Gift: Hybrid Affinity
I can finally talk about this! I am excited to have been able to take part in the first Valentine's Core Exchange. My giftee for this event is the amazing @nursal1060writes! I hope you enjoy your gift! Only the first chapter will be posted on AO3, this week, but they get the Full Monty in DMs. Thanks @valentines-core-exchange for connecting us!
Link: Hybrid Affinity Rating: Mature Characters: Danny Fenton, Vlad Masters Relationship: Danny & Vlad(Badger Cereal) Warnings: Implied/Referenced Torture, Past Torture, Torture, Psychological Torture, Medical Experimentation, Medical Torture, Non-Consensual Drug Use Chapter Word Count: 2,577 Story Word Total: 20k
Summary:
A momentary lapse of attention, a weapon's blast grounding him, an agent's boot heading towards his jaw…
Danny has been the 'primary research subject' of the Area 23 facility for the past three weeks. Since he was captured, he's had no contact with the outside world, and no chance of escape. After complaining about a lack of conversational partners, his heated cage finds a second occupant: Vlad Plasmius.
With his last chance at escape captured with him, Danny's hope dwindled until he heard the other halfa promise he had a plan. The only problem: He doesn't trust Vlad.
Have a sneak peek at the story below the cut!
The gun at the back of his head pressed deeper into the base of his skull. “I’m moving.”
“Not fast enough, ghost.” The agent tapped the spot right over his brain stem, “Keep dragging your feet, and I’ll save the government the expense of containing you.” The hiss of the pneumatic doors ahead of them sent tingles over his skin. The air on the other side smelled like the ecto-suppressant they pumped inside, burnt acrid chemicals, and days old sweat.
“I’m floating; you see me floating forward, right?” He stopped just on the other side of the barrier, long enough for the scan, and moved again when the light flashed green above the entrance. The hum of the ghost shield grated his ear drums as it scrapped over his skin. “No need to be so hostile.” The door clicked shut behind him, the agent no longer bothering to threaten him once he reached the inside of The Oven. “Whatever.” Danny floated the rest of the way into the heated metal box and tried to decide which wall he’d sizzle on for the next few hours. He’d favored the one facing the door when he’d first arrived, but the heating element sat closer to the surface. The sadists running this circle of hell designed it that way. Their scientists were probably measuring how long he’d put up with more pain to feel ‘secure’ or something.
He hovered in the middle of the room, eyeing the coolest wall, with an ache building up in his core. He decided to split the difference and sat against one of the walls perpendicular to the door. A low hiss filled the room as he sank down to the floor and leaned back. “You know, you don’t have to BBQ me. I’d be happy to answer questions without being spit-roasted.” The agents on the other side of the monitoring equipment couldn’t hear him. He’d made a show of cursing and insulting them the first… however long, until he was hoarse. They’d only told him they didn’t receive audio after he couldn’t speak. They said, ‘we’re not interested in any lies you ghost vermin want to tell’ and sneered down at him like he’d become a bug that learned to speak. They did monitor his energy levels, though. When he’d attempted an ecto-ray, a whole host of guns popped out of some panels in the ceiling and hosed him down with molten misery. The liquid didn’t start hot, not like the walls, but as soon as it touched him…
He rubbed at the spots along his forearms that got the worst of the spray. The jumpsuit still laid odd over those spots, like the ectoplasm underneath refused to come back all the way. He poked around the area, feeling the way the latex enmeshed with the healed flesh under it. Other areas stuck because he was slicked down with sweat, but here it felt glued down into the muscles. He leaned forward and frowned down at the half-melted state of his boots. The soles of his feet and the back of him always took the worst of it whenever he was back in the cage. Still, it was better than being in the labs. The blazing temperatures and grating silence granted a peace that left him when they wanted to stick tubes down his throat or needles into his skin. “I could even convince myself this is pleasant if I couldn’t smell that burning ectoplasm.”

yk, with jay and will both leaving their respective shows, I've wondered how kitty would go out.
on the one hand, she could die at a scene and it be a really heartbreaking moment, but hey, she's reunited with her parents and work siblings.
on the other hand, because of the essential complete loss of her family—her husband and one of her brothers back in the rangers, her oldest brother in seattle, her work siblings dying left and right around her—kitty's mental and physical health would deteriorate.
in psychology, at least vce psychology, you learn about how stress affects your immune system. especially chronic stress, which is the kind that lasts over a long period of time as opposed to acute stress.
she could end up violently ill to the point mouse has to come back to take care of the kids while kitty is hospitalised.
on the other other hand, mouse could be KIA or severely injured (mostly the latter) and kitty is needed more at home (with an injured husband that can't be looked after by two teenagers and a child), and the children are worried they won't have a mother much longer after almost losing their dad.
so she gets an offer for an arson and fire investigation job in seattle, and she accepts it, moving close to where will lives w/ nat and owen, with mouse and the kids.
a more peaceful ending in my opinion, and much i would rather prefer, but i like to suffer.

my school has an elective system! next year as my required science im taking bio, and since i dont have enough blocks spared to take chem due to other things, im going to take chem in my year 12
huhhhhhhh
nteresting VCE or victorian certificate of education works like you have a million subjects to pick from.
you can do one early subject n year 10 but its optional to smart kids (i did psychology) in year 11 you pick 6 subejcts.
all subjects (except one) are 2 year long subjects
so ill show you the ones i did in year 10 11 and currently doing in year 12
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ok so
blue is done in year 10
pink is year 11
and purple is year 12
each subject is split into four 'units' and you do 2 every year
in year 10 i extended and did units 1 and 2 of psychology and finished unit 3 and 4 last year. i did my final for it along with the other year 12s.
i made a mistake by picking all the hard subjects smh
i did/am doing english language (the study of how language is spoken and used rather than the study of books and shi)
same with bio and chem
ok maths
so specialist maths is the hardest out of ALL the subjects (along with latin) and i did it last year and it is HARD. i was gonna do agaiin this year but i opteed out due to the fact its very physics based and overall pretty hard so i dropped it. i did enjoy it tho so.
methods is the second hardest and is pretty fun too
and i did general this year which is considered the easiest out of them and i like math
and i did bio/chem this/last year ad i like

EDUCATING A GIRL CHILD MEANS EDUCATING A NATION
Tumblr media
Hailing from a rural background, I have closely seen the difficulties and hurdles that people have to face in rural areas.
One of the most disturbing factors is a lack of awareness of girl education. We established Shri Venkateshwara University in the heart of Gajraula, a rural area of Uttar Pradesh.
The vision behind this was to impart education to all the classes and to spread awareness towards educating the girl child.
I firmly believe that a girl’s education shouldn’t be considered a burden. She is a child who deserves a strong and educated future. Nowadays, girls all over the world are facing gender discrimination–just for being born as a daughter.
A girl’s education is valued less, and in certain cases, they force her into early marriage, faces violence, or become a victim of human trafficking. Her childhood span is reduced forcefully. Especially in the rural areas of India, feticide, child marriage, early marriage, etc. are very common practices. Due to lack of education and poverty, the girl child suffers even more.
Many factors lead to female feticide, but a major reason is the prospect of having to pay a dowry to the future groom of a daughter. People in the rural homesteads feel that spending money on a girl’s education is also a waste because she will ultimately get married one day.
While, they believe sons offer security in old age and can perform the last rites for the parents, while daughters are perceived as a social and economic burden. People have misused technologies like prenatal sex detection, allowing selective abortions of unborn females.
“Education for Girls” has been an important issue and various policymakers across the globe are forming rules and laws to promote it and also to stop female feticide, especially in developing countries.
Gender inequalities in educational outcomes still exist. Almost 69% of the population of India lives in or around rural areas, meaning reformers and educationalists need to work even harder and form strong policies that would help women and girls.
A girl’s education can change everything, as it is said that “educating a woman means educating an entire generation”.
An educated girl has more chances to grow up into a healthy and empowered individual who can determine their course of life and future.
An educated and well-read girl can decide when she’s ready for marriage and children. She is aware of the biological, psychological, and economical aspects involved in marriage and childbirth.
Despite many hurdles and hardships, we have realized that educating girls is crucial.
Women of today’s times are way ahead compared to men in almost every sphere of life. I believe and give special emphasis on educating women and have made many reforms in the educational institutes set up by the VGI group to support girl education.
There are many examples of women leading the economic and social sectors with successful results. Girls are bringing a silent revolution in society and also globally.
Girl-child education has played a pivotal role in the development of our country. Women are serving the country in various fields, ranging from technology, arts, media, sports, science, social services, literature, and all kinds of political affairs.
I strongly feel that the mind-set of seeing girls only as a housewife needs to change as now girls are way ahead in every field, and are showing positive results with the help of education.
So much so that women have even challenged the narrow approach of society and made a place in the Indian Armed forces as well, defending our country against the enemies.
Venkateshwara College of Education (VCE) was set up as an initiative to provide excellent training and education to teachers and to improve the standards of higher education in India. Thousands of women enrol in the B. Ed program at VCE every year and take a step towards a better future.
Even during the economic crisis, education has proven to be highly beneficial for the female population. Because of quality education, women have become independent and are also contributing to the overall income of the house.
They can fend for themselves and not depend on others, even if they remain unmarried or have to live without their husbands.
Education is a tool that empowers women to have a better viewpoint towards life, making them aware of their rights and responsibilities. An educated woman can stand up for her rights and also fight against problems like gender inequality.
Education also gives a woman the freedom and ability and confidence to express her feelings in the right manner. Every girl needs to be aware, should pursue knowledge, and learn. The education of these girls would have a positive impact on both the economy and society.
