#honestly this isn't usually something i'd pick up #but i liked the idea of it and i needed a way to challenge myself i think #i took out a few cats bc i understood the want for visual clutter #but i felt that the original wasn't cluttered with intention if that makes sense? #like the push for getting every character in frame actively hurt its coherency in a way that just made it look muddled #ive never participated in a dtiys before and i had fun! #might try more in the future #tccdtiys #my art #im not gonna look too hard at the mistakes its been SO long since ive done something fully inked colored and shaded

I was watching a Youtube video of all the Cinematic from the new Overwatch Invasion update (cause heaven knows I ain't buying it) and I noticed at the end Ramattra has this like.. Burn? Mark?? On his chest that goes through his cape

So I downloaded Overwatch on my PC to get a look at the Wandering/Traveling Monk skins this scene is using and I noticed..

Traveling and Wandering have a lot of visual differences, most notably in the burn the originally got my attention.

Wandering has been used canonically to show Ramattra's monk days previously, in his origin story and in the Developer commentary, but interestingly the artwork in those videos is lacking that very burn

Overwatch character designers are very good at visual storytelling, especially with Omnics (I could write an essay on what they've done with Zenyatta), so I believe this burn may very well be what became the Last Straw for Ramattra, what pushed him to leave the Shambali, what caused his fall into violence and eventually Talon.

Was he attacked? Or was he attempting to protect someone else? Despite his best efforts to shield them, the shot fired right past him, scorching his metal, cutting through his cape, and taking their life...

I hope we learn more about it.

Ooooh yeah #It wasn't his first time seeing his siblings die at human hands.. But he vowed it to be the last time... #It could also have been Zenyatta who got shot #We're still not 100% about that whole #'Those were the exact words I'd said to Zenyatta.. I know everyone is excited for Fantasy High to get the new d20 production treatment with Junior Year (and believe me, I am too, especially excited for having a full opening credits song and animation!)

But while I'm rewatching the last section of FHSY before the new season starts, I'm remembering how much I love having all 7 of them on screen at the same time. I love being able to watch the players react to Brennan's descriptions, watching Brennan react to their wonderful character interactions and awesome combat strategies, love being able to see the players joking across the table, checking notes and planning moves with each other. Not a bad thing at all, change is good and there's pros and cons to everything!

Ultimately I think it's special that we have a campaign in d20 that has lived through so many different formats! Classic fire hazard dome with the block colours, live stream, pandemic stream, and full dome projections!

#i will say just as a matter of personal taste im not huuuuge on the more out there dome projections #like i looove the hazy vignettes or colour patterns or even the shadow puppet stuff #but a lot of the rest of it is too much visual clutter on the screen for me #i am but a simple basic bitch unfortunately #i cant look at everyone's faces; HP bars & other info; subtitles; minis; all against a beautiful drawing; my eyes are too weak to behold it #but im glad it means more artists and more art! #you knoooow im gonna be wanting them for desktop backgrounds #dimension 20 #d20 #fantasy high junior year #d20 fantasy high
