i dont think i ever made a public post about this, but i do have a list of creator resources for anyone interested! this list is ofc specific to objects and 4t2 conversions.
the list is continually updated, really whenever i come across something that has helped me in object creation/conversions. the latest addition being: texture mapping in lithunwrap. this came in super handy when remapping the pretzel display by pandorasims. :]

just realized that with the combination of the mods Lock Those Doors and Forced Entry, murderfreak can now very literally break into people's houses in the dead of night with a fire axe, and then, of course, axe murder and/or axe freak them. this is enrichment in murderfreak's enclosure

fae court but it's a legal court, changelings are fae they leave in place of human jurors during the trial because it's the best way to prevent the trial from just becoming a bunch of fairies trying to one up the best bargain for their vote with the accused

I guess they do this for every mental health related tags, I don’t know how much of any these resources could help with a sleeping disorder that legitimately might be genetic for me. I’ve had issues sleeping since I was really young.

even is nowhere near an engineer, but they are, by necessity, a quick learner, and by nature, someone who will acquire whatever skills they think are necessary to make themself invaluable. combine that with the fact that the Doctor’s TARDIS is in a constant state of on the fritz/in need of repairs/just being tinkered with by him because he’s bored, and they do pick up a few things. (and obviously, to someone whose entire life has been dependent on their ship Functioning Or Else They’re Fucked In Deep Space, the TARDIS being damaged even slightly is stressful! they want to know how to fix it! they won’t die immediately anymore (probably) if the ship they live on malfunctions, but it’s hard to shake that instinct.)
Which means even does have a pretty thorough knowledge of how to repair and recognize TARDIS parts. Without really knowing what they’re doing, but knowing how to figure out a solution, even if they have to brute force the answer. Think of it like trying to do physics without having any understanding of calculus and instead having to use algebra — completely possible, but frustrating and much more likely to lead to mistakes — AND also the guy teaching you is a substitute teacher who speaks in a language he made up for his D&D group half the time and if you ask him what a word means because you can’t understand what the fuck he’s saying, he goes off on tangents about the etymology of it, forgetting that he’s supposed to be teaching you. physics. they have the world’s most convoluted understanding of how a TARDIS works, but like. about 75% of the time they can identify what’s gone wrong and 50% of the time, they might even be able to solve it themself if they can find the right tools. (*success rate will vary depending on level of stress they’re under.)
(to a much lesser extent, the same goes for piloting, although that’s much more cause-and-effect observation combined with information the doctor throws at them in the heat of the moment. which leads to a knowledge base that’s a bit like not knowing how a car’s steering wheel works, but definitely knowing where both the blinkers and the accelerator are and how to make use of them. even very much cannot fly a tardis alone (or, not effectively. MAYBE through space if they’re under pressure, but they don’t have the sense for time that time lords do. not hooked into that matrix.) but they know enough to be very useful to someone else flying one who can direct them.)

What the Courtier's Titles Mean
DNI
A couple people (including me) aren't super familiar with the titles the Arcana writers picked for the courtiers, so I thought I would compile what they all mean!
Note that most of these titles come from the Roman Empire, so those are the definitions I'll be using!
Consul Valerius
This is the most straight forward and familiar title. A Consul is a court advisor, so think Jafar from Aladdin and Chi-Fu from Mulan.
Quaestor Valdemar
According to Wikipedia, a Quaestor is a supervisor of the state treasury and conducts audits. They can also be given military command in a pinch. It also bears noting that in the Roman Empire, a Quaestor is the lowest rank of all.
I think Valdemar only has this title on paper, as both the wiki and characters in the game refer to them as the palace's head physician and not the treasurer (that I've seen at least.)
Praetor Vlastomil
According to Wikipedia, there are actually two different types of Praetor. A Praetor can either be a military commander or an elected magistrate. Since Vlastomil takes over as a judge in Julian's route, Vlastomil is the second definition.
Procurator Volta
According to Wikipedia, a Procurator is either a fiscal officer or a state governor. In the fiscal officer context, Procurators are in charge of collecting taxes and rent, managing mines, and paying public servants. Aside from that, Procurators are governors of provinces so small that Procurators were appointed by the emperor and not via elections.
In Arcana canon, however, Volta is in charge of gathering and distributing food to citizens. She does have an estate, but from what I've seen and heard, she doesn't have any governorship over land. So she's sort of half of both definitions.
Pontifex Vulgora
Vulgora's title is probably the most unfitting one out of the bunch. According to Wikipedia, in the Roman Empire, Pontiffs (the modern word for this title) were the heads of priest colleges and were thusly the face of worship in the Empire. In modern times though, a Pontiff is any Catholic bishop.
From what I've seen and read, Vulgora has very few ties to any religion within the game, but I do find it interesting that they work for The Devil (Major Arcana, not the actual devil) and have a title that refers to a pretty specific religion. Oh, the irony!

ok tysm, ill consider doing that! ftr this is the poll i desperately need mcr to lose:
2000s-musician-tournament.tumblr.com/post/750489298391924736
I NEED KE$HA TO KILL HIM!!!!!!!!!!
LOL 😭😭😭 you're welcome <3. i don't have a horse in this race but fwiw i put my one real vote in for kesha for you
i will also say if you're still here or lurking my blog or whatever for this...actually yeah ok. it's not like daverose is still polling.
you can randomise from a selection of characters in ahk v1 like this:
Global chars := "0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz", clen := StrLen(chars)
and then during your main process you call rand to keep yourself from having to come up with new 'emails' manually:
Send, % rand(16) Send, @gmail.com
which you can define in a separate bit as a function, like this:
rand(len) { Loop, %len% { Random, rnd, 1, %clen% string .= SubStr(chars, rnd, 1) } Return string }
if you haven't gotten it yet (maybe you have!), the rest of it is honestly really easy to do just by looking at the AHK docs online. i know someone was on my case last time for this being 'specialised pro coding knowledge' or whatever, but i still think that's utterly silly and an entirely defeatist attitude about...what, learning a simple skill?
assuming you're just writing a very simple macro (which is all you need), it really doesn't take more than a quick google search, a bit of reading, and some tinkering. basic macro scripting is super approachable, AHK is a very readable language, and all you need here is, for the most part, a fixed coordinate-clicker.
i write this stuff in notepad++, and you don't really need much more for this type of macro, but there's also SciTE. if you can't be assed to put in a GUI, just put a sleep delay at the start of your code and call it a day.
good luck! ^_^

... the biggest downside in knowing the right answer already in games like these is you forget abt doing the quests that you know will lead to a dead end in the main objective but are still important for side quests and characters 💀

So at my workplace, we fund a Food Is Free shelf. It's the basics: take what you need, give what you can - our town has a high level of poverty, there's a cost of living crisis, be the good you want to see in the world etc etc.
Today we had a guy knock on the door and ask if we had a plastic bag he could use to carry a few things - I said sure, got him a plastic bag, and he started packing up his 2 rolls of toilet paper, his 3 or 4 foodstuff items. He said he'd been to a funeral out of town (1500 kms away) and spent his paycheck on fuel - he was only broke till Friday, he said.
And I said, well I'm glad we could help, it's why we have the shelf. We want the community to use it.
And he said:
But people ABUSE it! I've seen people take heaps of stuff from it - and they don't even have kids or anything. And it's fair enough, some people are struggling until the next paycheck, but other people just ABUSE it. You need a sign that says TAKE ONE ITEM ONLY or something. I've taken something from here maybe twice, but I've seen people coming round every week! I've even put stuff on the shelf! Yeah, you need CAMERAS or something. People abuse it.
So here is a man who is actively utilising a public resource that we created to support our local community...And yet he is so brainwashed by capitalism into thinking that people don't deserve basic needs - if they're not working hard, or maybe they're struggling but they don't have it As Bad as others, or they're using a FREE RESOURCE more often than HE thinks is acceptable. He thinks that we should use security cameras to crack down on people "STEALING" from the Food is FREE shelf. Like he's more worthy, like he's a better person, because he doesn't need as much help as others might.
Sometimes, when something is free, people might abuse it. But isn't it better to offer the support to people who need it? To offer an opportunity for people to get back on their feet (even if they're only broke till Friday)? To provide help, no questions asked and no conditions needed?
So what if people abuse it - isn't it worth it if helps someone?

frustrated because realistically my plan to move out is going to require steps that take months to accomplish
need to get on meds that actually work
start showing up at work program regularly
get a job
get a car
then finally I can rent a cheap place and be on my own for the first time in my life. something about being sick that no one seems to talk about is how you're basically reliant on the charity of friends or family members just for a place to sleep, because my disability can't cover rent and the shitass gubment won't raise my allowance
I'm so sick of being reliant on other people + always being trapped by other people's routines and expectations. just want to be fucking free
also pisses me off because I feel like every day I see shitty, asshole people who have more than enough, just get more handed to them
meanwhile people who have nothing, and don't even have their mental health, are fighting for our fucking lives every day

Hot take maybe but I think Bertie would be FAR more likely to survive the first two months of Dracula than Jeeves would be. Bertie has a healthy sense of self-preservation. Jeeves consistently underestimates how dangerous a situation might get (Steeple Bumpleigh, the club book) because he’s overconfident about his level of control over any given situation. He'd handle Dracula masterfully if they faced off in England, but on Dracula's home turf? Much more doubtful.
I realize this might be a tough sell, so I will explain further (or it's not a tough sell, and I'm going to explain further because I want to). (criteria taken from @canyourfavesurvivecastledracula) Without further ado.
Would Jeeves and Wooster survive Castle Dracula?
Jeeves
Jeeves' survival will depend on how long Dracula finds him more entertaining than irritating. On that basis, I don't think he's long for this world. On the one hand, he has a huge wealth of knowledge about English society and culture that he can recite perfectly from memory. That should buy him at least a little time with noted teaboo Dracula.
On the other hand, he would be absolutely no fun as a vampire plaything. Jeeves cannot be got. Sneaking up on him while he's shaving will yield zero reaction (though that's at least good for his short-term survival--given that, although he DID take the crucifix from the old woman out of politeness, he certainly isn't going to wear it. The rules of fashion don't go out the window just because you're in a spooky castle). Then, although managing the whims of rich jerks is not an insignificant part of a valet's job, Jeeves usually does this by bending his employers to his will. Dracula is not the sort of employer this will work on. It'll just add insult to injury when on top of being impossible to scare, NOW Jeeves is telling Dracula that his favorite cloak is several centuries out of fashion and he's not allowed to wear it anymore.
Jeeves will 100% go exploring in the areas he was told not to go-- though to be fair, he MIGHT actually get away with this, what with his superpower of appearing in rooms without being seen or heard. Said superpower might save him from the brides as well (though this is by no means guaranteed). Since I find it doubtful that Dracula would come to rescue his annoying ass, not being noticed is his best defense.
There are a couple other things working in Jeeves's favor; the question is just whether they'll be enough to save him.
He DOES know shorthand, and could try to send coded letters. He might even have the foresight to squirrel away some extra stationary where Dracula can't find it. But could he get them posted? Would it even do him any good?
He certainly has enough cultural literacy to figure out what his new boss is pretty quickly. If he didn't chuck the crucifix out the carriage window, he might start carrying it around in his pocket.
Psychology of the individual, sure, but the individual in question is a 400-year-old vampire who lives in an isolated castle in a foreign country and is regarded as a terrifying mythological figure in the surrounding villages. Jeeves has never come up against anything this alien before, he's cut off from his normal resources, and opportunities to play people against each other are limited.
He probably has enough upper body strength from all that shrimping and fishing to climb the wall, so he COULD escape if he wanted to, if he survived long enough. It's just, again, that overconfidence, and also Dracula has a vast library full of rare old books that are entirely at his disposal. He's keeping his eyes and ears alert for potential escape strategies, of course, but I don't see him being as desperate to get out as Jonathan was.
There are just a lot of "depends on"s here, and I'm not convinced that luck would shake out in Jeeves's favor, all things considered.
Bertie
Bertie is so perfect for the job of Castle Dracula Prisoner it's like it was made for him. Think about it. Being held against his will in big manor houses comes more naturally to him than breathing. He's afraid of things that are scary. A lifetime of dealing with Aunt Agatha has made him the world's preeminent expert in "curl[ing] up in a ball in the hope that a meek subservience [will] enable [him] to get off lightly." He will NEVER go exploring in places he's been warned away from if nobody is forcing him to (Rev. Aubrey Upjohn's office notwithstanding. There were biscuits in there). He's both fun to talk to and easy to toy with (and extremely English). A+ prisoner. Dracula adores him.
In my opinion, Bertie is at Castle Dracula either because Aunt Agatha got some wires seriously crossed and thinks he’s going to meet an eligible potential bride (I mean, there are certainly brides there), or because Dracula has something Aunt Dahlia wants him to steal (far less likely, given that one of Dracula’s THINGS is famously not owning anything silver). Either way, he's shown himself entirely willing and able to escape down drainpipes if a sitch gets too scaly.
He DOES take the crucifix, and DOES wear it (which is what will save him during the shaving scene, because you KNOW he's going to jump a foot and cut himself like the dickens). He's read enough supernatural goosefleshers to be genre savvy about terrified old women cryptically pushing crucifixes into one's hands. I also think his sunny disposish endeared him to the villagers, and they were particularly vehement about urging him not to go. He doesn't speak German or Romanian, but he's empathetic enough to recognize Pure Terror. So by the time he actually gets to the castle, his imagination is already running wild and he's plenty aware that he is in imminent danger.
I think the biggest risk to Bertie will be the brides; whether or not he's susceptible to trances, if he thinks they're trying to marry him, it's against the code of the Woosters to turn them down. But that only becomes an issue if he comes face to face with them, which, luckily, I think is unlikely on account of the aforementioned "won't go exploring" (and if he did, Dracula would definitely rescue him).
I'm inclined to say due to his drainpipe-escape habits that he WOULD be able to climb the wall and MAY attempt to sneak into Dracula's room to look for the keys if his desperation grows to outweigh his fear. Whether he does or not, though, he does NOT have the stomach to attempt shovel murder, and therefore won't get magic brain fever, and may very well simply walk out the front doors when the people come to take the boxes away. OR he climbs his way out like Jonathan did. Either way.
When Bertie tells this story at the Drones later, Tuppy will say that no doubt it's been greatly exaggerated and all that probably happened was that he spent a couple months in an oldish house entertaining a weird loner.
