what I love most about your 666 vox is that even though he and alastor make an olympic sport out of bending the boundaries of "safe and sane" sex, he seems to VERY firmly believe in the "consensual" part... him letting go of alastor the SECOND he uses his safe word, holding himself back when alastor can't handle touch during his rut, all that stuff. so what would his reaction be if the events of bus stop happened in the same verse and he learned about what valentino did? I know you mentioned it in another ask before but it's been rotating in my mind for days lol - ✨

I genuinely think that Vox is a fairly shitty person who does not typically particularly care about the violation of consent. He is so free not just with lying, selling spyware, and enabling enabling Valentino, but also with dominating people's will with his hypnosis in his introduction. I think that, if anything, he gets a power trip out of it and he sees what Valentino does, generally, as an extension of that! They're the Vees! They're powerful, they're winning, they have Pentagram City wrapped around their fingers!

However, in 666, his view of Alastor and the fact that Alastor lets him do things is obsessive and borderline worshipful, in, like, a fucked up sadomasochistic way! 666 is written from Alastor's POV so you get to see a lot of his own emotional progression with regard to how he views Vox, but on Vox's end, he's also seeing Alastor differently. He would not be able to genuinely think that he's fallen in love with Alastor if he wasn't able to get past being worshipfully infatuated with him first. He's still obsessive, but especially after O.T.O Special 6.66, Now Streaming: The Birds and the Bees, Natural Wonders! (aka. the rut fic, I know, my fucking titles—) where Alastor starts offering Vox more genuine vulnerability without the looming threat of his shadow, he sees Alastor as more of an actual person rather than a celebrity figure to fight or fuck or both.

Which means that, before Vox made that transition, he would probably be pissed that Valentino ruined his chances to get up to more shit with Alastor. He is very careful with regards to Alastor's consent in the first two installations of 666 because he's extremely aware of how easily Alastor could withdraw it, and how little Vox could do about that. He's not willing to lose Alastor after the taste he's finally had! He's practically manic about finally getting what he wants!

After he's developed more genuine feelings for Alastor (and Alastor has moved solidly into being one of the relatively few people that Vox registers as not just being an NPC or untouchable raid boss in his life), he would be... absolutely fucking mortified, I think. The empathy would fucking suck! That's why he prefers not to have it for most people!

But the thing is, he also loves Val. He has history with Val. And he knows what Val is like. I think he would be less actually, genuinely, overtly angry at Valentino in this scenario than he would have been if he'd just seen Val as ruining his big break with Alastor. He'd make a show of it, sure, but how the hell can he really blame Valentino when he genuinely wouldn't have given (has never given) half of a shit if it had actually been Angel Dust?

And he also knows what Alastor is like. I think his decision would be forced by the fact that despite what happened, Alastor is alive and Valentino is very much about to not be. In a triage situation, one of those people is by default a higher priority.

Alastor, of course, would never forgive that. He would also never forgive the fact that Vox knows what happened—and knows it in a universe where Alastor had dared allow Vox liberties and slowly, eventually, trusted him not to abuse them.

Like I said! It would absolutely nuke the relationship, and I think Alastor would put a great deal of effort into turning all of V Tower and its inhabitants, likely especially Vox, even moreso than Valentino, into so much rubble and a wet smear on the ground.

Wash Away All My Fears

My First Flowerbyte fic 💻📱💜... it's about Wash Day which is very on brand- not as dramatic as the title makes it seem tho this is not beta-ed at alllll I'll make any needed edits when I wake up gn ya'll

Margo drags her hand down her face with a sigh. She’s been trying to psych herself up for wash day for 8 minutes. She’s already procrastinated and pushed it off for three days, she can’t go another day wearing it out in a fro. It's getting too hot for that. 

She groaned and leaned to drop her head against the counter. She literally did a whole deep clean on her bathroom yesterday because she was procrastinating. 

Which technically wasn’t procrastinating because she was still doing something productive.

She raised her head up and grabbed her phone. Her contacts were still open, washing her hair wasn’t the only thing she was putting off.

He did say to call her whenever, but Margo still has trouble with talking to him outside of the Spider Verse. 

Sure, her virtual character is practically her carbon copy…but it still wasn’t carbon. Up close there were many more flaws differences between VR and the real Margo. 

They’d had many FaceTime calls throughout their relationship but Margo still worried about making things awkward every time she answered the phone. 

She took another look at her reflection and made up her mind.

If she had to suffer she wasn’t going to do it alone.

Miles answered immediately, bringing the phone close to his face and smiling widely.

Margo laughed a little. He did that everytime, he probably did it when they talked on the phone without video too.

“Hi Miles.” 

He pulled the phone away from his face and propped it up on something in front of him.

“Hey, I was just about to call you.’

Margo blinked, “Really?”

Miles rolled his eyes and adjusted his headphones. “Nah I just said that.”

Margo rolled her eyes back but there was a small smile on her face.

“What are you doing anyway?”

“I’m about to wash my hair, and I’m also trying not to take some scissors and chop it all off.”

“Actually you would need clippers and you would buzz it off.”

“You’re enabling me?”

“Yup, Just chop it all off, girl,” He replied in a high-pitched voice.

Margo burst out laughing and shook her head as she watched him snap his fingers.

“Yeah, I’m starting to regret calling you.”

He raised his hands in question, “I didn’t do anything!”

“Exactly,” Margo said as she turned on the water, she made sure it was the perfect temp before she continued.

“I called you for moral support and I’m not feeling supported right now.”

Miles dropped his mouth open in mock shock and pressed his hand to his chest dramatically. 

“After I did a girl voice for you and everything?” 

Margo snorted, “Yeah not that I didn’t appreciate it, but I called my boyfriend, not one of my besties.”

He nodded, “Yeah I got you.” 

Margo ran her hand under the water to check the temp again.  A strangely deep voice made her look back to her phone,

“Just relax and put the scissors down lil mama, you got this.” 

Miles burst into cackles immediately after and Margo gave up watching him in dumbfounded silence and just side-eyed him as he laughed.

“I cannot believe you let that come out of your mou- I should block you.”

He tried to stifle his snickers but when he realized he couldn't he just muted himself.

Margo shook her head and got her deep conditioner and detangling brush ready. 

Miles piped up again when he controlled himself. 

“I think the water bill has reached a hundred dollars now, you can stick your head under.”

Margo straight-faced him and tucked his lips in so he wouldn’t laugh.

“That’s my last time, I swear.”

Margo shook her head, that would not be his last time. 

“I’m waiting for it to get hot.” 

He nodded, a smile forming on his face. 

He was always smiling when they were on the phone, it’s like his default expression. Margo pointed it out once and she thoroughly enjoyed how flustered he got.

She stopped staring at him, starting to feel warm at the embarrassing amount of time she spent doing so.

She sighed again, remembering the task at hand. 

“Here goes nothing.”

Margo lowered her hair under the flow of the water and brought the sprayer up to rinse out the back.

Miles couldn’t help himself. 

“Damn, you really went for it. Is that a tear or water?”

Margo refrained from throwing up her hand in a very rude gesture towards Miles, and instead tried to get a glimpse of her reflection in the mirror without getting water all over the counter. 

She groaned when she did manage to get a glimpse of her cheek.

“It’s neither. That’s the gel she used, oh my gosh I knew she used too much. I felt the build-up before she even finished.”

Miles watched, amused, as she rambled. His attention now solely on her and not the game he’d been playing.

“This is why I hate washing my hair. Water dripping down my neck and- OH MY GOSH IT GOT IN MY EAR!”

Miles muted himself yet again so she wouldn’t hear the loud laughing he started when she cut herself off.

By the time he got himself under control this time, Margo was already applying the deep conditioner in her.

Miles tilted his head and unmuted himself.

“Why’re you using that first?

She gave him a long look before she responded. He was not nearly slick enough to mute himself before she realized he was laughing.

“I’m doin’ it first because by deep conditioning and detangling before I shampoo, I have less shedding. Especially after braids.”

He nods though she suspects he doesn’t really get it.

Margo resumes her detangling process and Miles unpauses his game. They talk a little which mostly consists of Miles saying things to purposely annoy her and Margo rolling her eyes.

She sighs as she finishes her last twist and pulls a shower cap out of the cabinet and puts it on. 

Miles refocuses his attention on her when she calls his name.

“I’ll talk to you tomorrow or something if I haven’t gone crazy and actually buzzed all my hair off.’

Miles scrunched his face up, “You done or something, why’re you hanging up?”

“I’m not done but all I’m gonna do is sit like this for like an hour and a half.”

“So why hang up?”

“Because for an hour and a half I’m gonna be doing nothing but cleaning my room or something and then I’m just gonna rinse this out and shampoo.” Margo says it slowly because she’s actually confused that he’s not getting it.

Miles shrugs and fidgets with his hands a little. 

“Doesn’t really matter to me, I’m fine just keeping you company while you clean. I’d actually kind of like it.”

Margo tried really, really hard to tamp down the massive grin threatening to take over her face but she’s pretty sure she failed.

“Oh, really?”

Miles laughed at the way she cheesed into the camera and shook his head. 

“Yes really.”

“Well Mr. Morales let’s clean.”

Miles chuckles again. 

“Okay Ms. Kess.” 

Margo lets out an extremely embarrassing high-pitched giggle and clicks the light off in her bathroom. 

A couple hours later when she’s completely finished she catches Miles staring at her with a wide grin. 

“What?” She asks, fighting the urge to cover up her face.

He shrugs and his hand goes to rub at his neck, clearly embarrassed he was caught staring.

“Nothing, you just look really pretty.”

Margo tries not to squeal and instead covers up her wild grin with her hand.

“Even with my bonnet and this stupid retainer.”

Miles shrugs again. 

“Yup.”

“Well you look handsome too.”

His eyes widen and he quickly looks away, Margo laughs but tries to lower it when she remembers how late it is.

“I appreciate it Ms. Kess.”

She smirks and with confidence she definitely does not have she replies, “That’s Mrs. Morales to you.”

She hurriedly hangs up on him, barely catching the squawk he lets out and the flustered expression on his face.

Her phone falls to her bed as Margo rolls from side to side with her hands covering her face. 

She grabs her pillow and stuffs her face in it when she hears her phone buzz.

After kicking her feet and squealing into her pillow for a ridiculous amount of time she opens their text thread.

This time the squeal does not make it into her pillow.

a/n: thoughts! not a lot, really. i won't lie i kinda forgot he existed for a bit but!! he seems really interesting and i have no sense of self-control so i'm sorta inspecting him under a microscope and taking little notes. because of that, i don't have any general headcanons for him yet but here are some romantic ones for you, reagan! sorry it took so long to get to this fhdjfk

the doll maker headcanons.

warnings: gn reader, night terrors, i can't think of anything else uhm yeah.

He's not at all well-versed in the realm of romance. It's not even something that crosses his mind, to be honest. So, he is certainly surprised when he finds himself developing feelings for you.

You, who never asks him questions about his past. You just accept him as he is, and he finds that to be really strange. Not even one question? I mean, come on, surely you're curious about the glass doll eye, right?

But even if you are, you never cross the boundary. The respect you hold for him is enough to make him pause. If he had any plans on turning you into a doll, then he's a bit more hesitant to enact them now.

He's too confused by you to really stop you from visiting him often, which he finds that he doesn't really have a problem with. It just... makes his doll-making hobby a bit difficult, that's all.

Absolutely does not want you to find out about his human doll collection please for the love of god do not go into the back room. He'll get uncomfortable if you even walk near the back room, doing anything to direct your attention away from it. Just... don't go in there. Even if he's in there, just stay in the front.

He's not particularly insecure about his appearance anymore. He's grown to accept the scars on his face and whatnot, but he can't deny that he gets all happy and flustered whenever you call him handsome.

He likes to admire you. He finds you to be pretty distracting when he's working on, you know... plastic or porcelain dolls. Not that he thinks that's a bad thing, of course. It's... nice, looking up from his work to see you studying one of his many creations with genuine interest.

Definitely seems like the type to want to make a doll of you, if you're comfortable with that.

He's not the best when it comes to taking care of himself, so you always have to remind him of when to take breaks and when to eat.

Very uncomfortable with physical touch when he doesn't realize it's coming, so you need to make sure you get his attention before touching him. Maybe ask for permission as well, depending on the situation.

That situation being his severe insomnia and sleep terrors, of course.

It's not something he's open about. Honestly, he's a bit ashamed of it. He didn't want you to find out about them, but unfortunately, it's not really something he can hide.

You find out about it when you decide to pay him a visit a bit earlier in the morning than usual. Vine had probably gone maybe three days without sleeping before his body basically forced him to sleep.

That situation ended with him putting a pair of scissors to your throat, and a damn near inconsolable Vine as he profusely apologized.

He definitely calls you endearing names in Russian. He defaults and calls you 'doll', but I think he also uses 'my love' and 'sunshine'.

He also definitely seems like the type to give you random compliments and little gifts.

Overall pretty hesitant and awkward at the beginning of a relationship, but he'll definitely gradually become comfortable and open up a bit more the longer you're together. He probably won't talk about his past though, not for a good long while, so even if you were to ask him about it, he'd probably change the topic.

I think smth interesting I should write about sometime is the fact that Majexatli tries to pass off some of their practices as being something that’s just a druid thing, or related to the circle of the moon. In my Tav as a companion ask I did, for a potentially romantic cutscene, they go hunting while in wildshape, like a drawn out stalking and tracking and then finally attacking and biting and consuming. And they try to pass it off as a druidic practice and their use of wildshape as something related to the circle of the moon tradition. When in truth the whole thing is actually a practice for Malar worshippers, a supplication to the beastlord, as Malar is a deity of stalking and hunting and bloodlust and bestial savagery.

Which they could probably do with most of the companions, it’s unlikely the companions are well versed in Druid practices. But then once Halsin joins the party, now there’s an archdruid and one of the circle of the moon tradition (at least in my playthrough, it was the default choice for Halsin’s circle and fitting with his use of wildshape). So now not only can the companions look at Halsin and see how Majexatli is in fact doing shit that aren’t just common druid practices. And also Halsin being a Druid can 1000% notice about their odd practices and how they very clearly aren’t actually a Silvanus worshipper.

Spider-verse, but Nightwing

OK I once saw a comment somewhere which went along the lines of...

"I wish Dc would give us a animation-like Spiderverse of Nightwing"

and at first i kind of ignored it- cuz idk, i don't really care about Nightwing- I mean, i love him! He's great, but not one of my favorite batfamily members.

BUT THEN I REALIZED THE OTHER CHARACTERS WOULD BE THERE TOO

so, here's what i think a Spiderverse movie would be like,

(If the plot was similar)

Nightwing- Obv he's Miles Morales, the main character!

Gwen- OK, the love interest. So we have three main competitors for fan favorite ships! Dick/Wally, Dick/Barbara, and Dick/Kori! Now one of them is already cancelled by default, because Dc is a coward, so we only have Barbara and Kori left! and well, Barbara fits Gwen's personality much more than Kori, and that paired with the fact that DC favors DickBabs in general, WE HAVE A WINNER!

SpiderVerse- okay, this is where it starts to lean a bit away from the movies and a bit from the comics; Spiderverse is now the Court of Owls! My headcannon is that for some reason all vigilantes (minus Batman and one other person, u will find out) join the court of owls thinking it has the right idea, and then BOOM its not actually that good (it kills people it can't control). BUT its not that wrong either. When it figures out what its doing wrong, it starts helping the vigilantes against the real evil, which is...

Spot- The league of assassins :)) YES I KNOW, IT ISN'T REALLY A MAIN VILLAIN of Nightwing's, but STILL, it's too good of a opportunity to give up seeing Ra's and Talia in the movie.

Miles Parents- Bruce and Selina, obviously. I think Jefferson's personality as a parent is PERFECT for Bruce-emotionally-constipated-dad! Selina is Bruce's wife, obv, BUT there is one change here...Y'know that scene where Rio gives Miles that 'your un-grounded" talk? I think it would be Wally giving Nightwing a super cool heartwarming speech (it won't be the same though) and then turned out Selina was listening to it all and at the end is just like "sigh, ok, you're ungrounded, come back soon, i'll deal with Bruce."

NOW FOR THE REST OF THE BATFAMILY MEMBER'S

Tim Drake- DRUM ROLL PLEASE, Hobie Brown! Hobie's smart, and while his personality might be a bit too much....It's still perfect for the role Tim would be playing. Hobie doesn’t trust the Court, and at the end he’s the one who had everything prepared for when they realise that the Court Of Owls is wrong!

Stephanie Brown- AND SHE'S GOING TO BE OUR FAV CINNAMON ROLL, Pavitr Prabhakar. And as much as it pains me as a Pakistani to remove his Indian heritage, it must be done. He's goofy, he ships the two main characters, and is just adorable, he's perfect for Stephanie, and will definitely give her justice.

Cassandra Cain- Sadly, Cass is going to have a less prominent role in the second movie, but hopefully she shows up more in the third; Margo Kess! the scene where she lets Miles go is perfect, because she can detect body language and would understand that Nightwing is right, and Miguel is planning on hurting him.

Damian Wayne- FINALLY MY FAV CHARACTER, but this one is more of a original character instead of a already made character in the movie; Damian is going to be the person Dick has to save. Because i love their dynamic. So, Damian is probably being manipulated by LoA, and idk maybe Ra's is trying to use him as a body vessel without Damian knowing, and the court of owls needs him dead because "HES A WILD CARD" but Dick just NEEDS to save him "BECAUSE THAT'S MY BROTHER, DAMN YOU, IM NOT LETTING ANOTHER ONE DIE" and cue everyone fighting LoA and then a wholesome Dick and Dami scene; Feel free to elaborate on it.

Jason Todd- I had to think a lot for this, but i have a PERFECT answer; Uncle Aaron. ITS SAD AND WILL BREAK HEARTS BUT ITS PERFECT, HELP- The relationship with Jefferson? check. Dies? check. What more do we need?

This is hard mostly because all of my fic tends to be some kind of fix-it in some way to give someone an obscenely happy ending. If you had to have me narrow it down based on what my most blatant fix-it to some miserable canon character ending was? I'd go with either Happiness Exists (As Long As You Believe in the Possibility) (Qijiu again!), and the Recovery-verse as a whole, or maybe Abstraction White Rose (Revolutionary Girl Utena), because by god I needed Utena and Anthy to kiss and I MADE THEM DO THAT, A LOT.

8. do you get hate on fics?

Xiyao troll hit me once or twice and I got a few cranky dudebros who got mad at me for my Eva fic on a message board once, but nothing all that bad if I'm honest.

9. do you write smut?

...well, I've tried but the plot gets in the way.

10. do you write crossovers? what's the craziest one you have written?

The first that come to mind are the MDZS/TGCF crossovers, but those are the same authors so I don't know that that counts. I DID write a very silly How The Grinch Stole Christmas/Nightmare Before Christmas short once upon an internet. It has since been lost to the great yawning of time and collapse of several social media platforms.

11. have you ever had a fic stolen?

Someone once scraped the awful Naruto fic I wrote when I was like 15 and changed the names to make it a Samurai Champloo fic which, um. Why? But that was pretty damn funny in hindsight.

12. have you ever had a fic translated?

Yes! In Russian, Chinese, and French. And I love every time it happens.

13. have you ever co-written a fic before?

My dayjob these days is cowriting with people. But on the fanfic side -- well, in short, yes. With the usual suspect (that would be Chira) and with my wife, who has once or twice dictated an entire story outline to me which I write in a day.

14. what's your all time favorite ship? Internet, I am old and you cannot expect me to pick one. Utena/Anthy maybe?

15. what is a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I still need to do the last story for the A Troublesome Charge series which I SWEAR will happen it's just I had a literal baby.

Character voice. I love character voice and I am told I am good at it.

To be honest if I don't know it I don't try. But I like bilingual writing when it's done well (see also: Everything, Everywhere, All At Once) -- but when it comes to fangirl Japanese or Chinese, I tend to leave that to the experts.

mumblesBeastWars and thank god that was on a platform that crashed and burned. The Beast Wars fic I wrote for Yuletide was way better.

20. favorite fic you have written?

On Your Six, despite how I feel about Overwatch nowadays, I feel was probably one of the punchiest stories I've ever written. I would have absolutely used this story to audition to write for Blizzard's tie-in novellas if Blizzard hadn't...well, read the news on what happened at Blizzard.

The other one I'd probably say is Ghost Roads in my Troublesome Charge series (MDZS). I just feel like I nailed all the multiple plotlines and characters involved in that one and I'm super proud of it. I'm not tagging anyone because I have anxiety about this kind of thing, but please feel free to do this meme yourself if it crosses your dash!

What do you get when you cross a Hell Fic alternate universe with a tragic ending, a Touya with bad coping mechanism, and a multiverse-hopping quirk? HTTM DTTS: HELLVERSE!

Ok, so, I finally read Hell fic which is really good! I’ve been keeping up with the blog for a while, so I was a witness to the 2022 descent into Dabi Hell along with the bajillion Hell fic aus that popped up. Earlier this month, I hit my mha phase, read Hell fic, and understood what the hype was about. I kept thinking of those aus and how they were perfect for a spiderverse-style crossover epic. So fueled by writer’s block for a completely different project, I made a mockup poster of the concept!

general art notes:

this was hard. Dabi’s anime hair is stupid hard to draw. The flame effects covered so much. I’m glad I didn’t do shading. Also, super proud of myself for figuring out a way to draw anime hair! I took inspiration from an across the spider verse poster with all the characters facing the camera head on. Because I had less characters, with designs similar to each other, I had to modify the poses to give some more character. Not sure how well I did on that. The white shape in the center represents MC, and I wanted it to look like the shape’s been erased from the canvas, cutting through all the Touyas.

the touyas (top of left column to top of right column, like a horseshoe), individual art notes, and story notes:

Normal fic!Touya. From default/default adjacent Hell fic universe. Don’t have much variation to go with, so he’s a ‘normal’ Dabi. Not much to say here. I think I drew him last? Was weirdly hard to finish.

jjk curse au!Touya. None of the other Touyas know what the fuck he’s talking about. What do you mean curses? What do you mean you’re dead? In universe, he and MC are HS second years/16-ish, so I made his eyes bigger, face softer, hair fluffier, tried to make him look youthful. I think you noted that this Touya didn’t look much different than normal, but as you can see, I made him blue. I think it’d be cool if he had fire glowing from beneath his scars. I thought about replacing with burned skin with exposed muscle (also blue), but decided against that for ease of drawing. His uniform’s white, because, y’know, death.

Villain au!Touya. From the au where Touya and MC ran away to become horny villains together and Touya makes a ‘no bitches’ joke to Shigaraki. He gets a matching tungsten ring and a smile! I envision him as the first alternadabi to pop up in Normal’s dimension for some reason. Maybe because he’s the most similar?

Pro-Hero!Touya. Is miffed and yet not surprised that so many of his counterparts are villains. The most well-off financially of the Touyas. The Touyas raid his agency’s fridge at some point. There are so many awesome hero au designs floating in the fandom. I came up the outfit on the fly and it probably needs to be redesigned a few more times before I’m personally happy. Still, it serves its purpose. This Touya gets gold-plated piercings because he’s worth it.

Toxic WLW!Touya. TBH I don’t remember much about this au. Does it take place in the MHA world or is it a mundane au? Either way, this Touya was the first one I had concepts for. I think every Touya is a trash gremlin no matter the gender, and I didn’t want her to lose that aspect. I gave her a new, pushed-back hairstyle because I didn’t want to draw 6 versions of the same hair, and canon Touya looks really cute with his forehead exposed. The nose piercings are replaced with eyebrow rings to take advantage of that.

late 20s!Touya. From that concept you had about an older Touya having a happy ending. This one is stable, happily married, and is a good parent. The others totally aren’t jealous at all! Why hasn’t the rogue Touya who started this mess try to take over his life? Uh…something something this reality too unfamiliar to him…too used to destruction and dying young…can’t fathom having a life like this where he builds instead of destroys…would rather tear open the multiverse than face the prospect of internal change. This Touya is more often than not the holder of the sole braincell and is trying to wrangle his younger selves in more positive directions. Assigned Responsible Adult (tm) despite not hitting 30. Wears sweats the entire time.

- I see late 20s!Touya as entering the story in 2 ways. Doing laundry and getting sucked into a portal waiting for the washer to finish (1). Seeing his alternaselves in the distance, calling his MC, and being like ‘I’m gonna need to leave for a week I have to stop myself from doing something stupid’ and following after (2).

They quit the firm and now we'll never kno why Martin hates Aislinn so much. My poor bby didn't deserve that.

Just looking at the first book, Martin always thought of himself as the best of the best. He went to fancy Ivy League schools, clerked for a federal judge, etc. etc. Even in the first book, he mocks the MC for not being well-versed in the law with the whole tree law thing.

But what made me realize his whole method of operation was when he said the best strategy to help Marcus's criminal case was to ruin Aliana's image. And that made me realize that Martin is someone who desperately wants to be viewed as good and even the best. Even though he's not.

The judge he did a federal clerkship for didn't even know who the hell he was when they met at that conference, even though Martin clerked for him for 2 years, which tells me he wasn't outstanding in any way, shape, or form. He never won anything major at McGraw Byrne that warranted any type of attention from Gabe or the other senior partners.

Yet here comes the MC from a small town that basically blows him out of the water. And Martin hated that. But, because he had no way of going toe-to-toe with the MC on a legal battle, he's focused more on destroying the MC's image and reputation so that he in turn looks better. And because he can't project a good image with his own skills and knowledge, he has to knock everyone else down so he looks better by a default comparison.

The same goes for Aislinn. Aislinn was better than him and already had a good image in the eye of the senior partners since she already worked there previously. She was probably the second best behind the MC, and obviously when the MC and Aislinn teamed up, they were unbeatable. She was close to the MC, and because of all that, Martin had to make sure her image was ruined too so that he looked better.

But Martin's plan is going to backfire tremendously. The journalist interview is proof of what will happen. He's probably thrilled that the MC looked like an idiot, but what he failed to realize was people pulled out of the firm and their reputation started to flounder. If you have no clients, you have no way to keep a firm running. Like I said earlier, McGraw Byrne is going to have its reputation tanked because Martin was too dense to realize his crusade against the MC is going to ruin him and the firm.

And I honestly can't wait to see it.

I've been meaning to make a pin post and I'll probably get to one soon. But until then I want to make a post about this. I do have another blog that I'm heavily affiliated with. That blog is @sinners-inc. Bones and I have developed this wonderful canon au world involving both Enji and Keigo with some of her OCs. Now because we are affiliates, when it comes to things I will default Enji and Keigo to these verses. For interactions with others, I will ask first if it's fine but any asks that don't exactly give any hints of a particular interaction or verse of mine, this is going be the default. In some verses, Enji's villain verse is the best example I have, will default to him being shipped with Do unless requested/plotted otherwise. Really, it's not going change much but me talking about how adorable both of my ships are. Which they are I adore Enji being with his tiny Korean wife and Keigo with his immortal rockstar.

i know i made a joke post last night about my "takes" regarding the finale, but here's a most serious post detailing my takes on the season + finale, as well as where it leaves my portrayal for jordan and this blog. spoilers under the cut!

season takes;

i really enjoyed this first season. as a college student myself, i found myself relating quite a bit with the dialogue + the way the characters act. granted, i'm not a supe (thank god) but... it felt real in ways that not every teenage/college based show does. so kudos to amazon for that.

big fan of limoreau!!! (yes that's the ship name, i did my research for this post...) love the enemies-to-lovers trope, but i do wish they'd had a slight better build-up. i feel like their relationship, imo, was a little rushed + came out of nowhere but... it's a queer relationship so you know what, i'll let it slide

finale takes;

loosely spoke to zawn about this last night, but i do think jordan could have taken sam in the beginning scene. i don't think it would've ended well, but i do think jordan is the only one out of the group with the abilities to actually... fight sam. (but i think there will come a time where... they won't be able to. like sam is going to become too powerful.)

big fan of cate + sam joining the seven. not only from a story standpoint, but also just keeping longevity for the franchise type of way? marvel (their movies) really failed at bringing in their new/younger cast and making them feel embedded in the story, which they're ultimately paying for now. i feel like the boys franchise is trying to avoid that and they've done in properly, imo, so far.

loved the finale coming full circle: jordan beginning the season protecting/saving marie, marie ending the season protecting/saving jordan. truly a moment for television history imo. but my god why was jordan walking so slow across that grass...

i do believe the theory that the godolkin crew is being held by victoria. it only makes sense to me, and i just saw a reddit post saying andre is even holding a phone in the scene. i don't think vought would allow their prisoners to have a cellphone. so yes, i believe victoria has them because it's in her best interests to keep marie and co. alive!

where it leaves my blog + portrayal;

as far as my default/main verse goes: i'll probably make it pre-series. just off the basis of, once you enter the timeframe of the season, it's literally day-after-day stuff. i literally think this whole season takes place in the span of 2 weeks? like literally in canon?

activity will still remain consistent, but since the season is done airing, i do want to start returning to some of my other blogs that've been put on the backburner (@the2000bug for starters, where yes— i will be adding more characters from gen v)

if i do write threads post-season, i'll run under the theory that the crew is being held by victoria! at least until stated/proven otherwise.

I've been reading a lot of Resident Evil fanfiction lately, and I've had a bunch of headcanons (and other details) for my RE muses bouncing around in my head, so I'm just gonna dump them under the cut for y'all to enjoy because this is LONG.

(Note that some of these have probably already been posted about on my blog before.)

Leon:

Ever since his mission in Spain, he's had a strong fear of parasites. Or rather, the idea of being infected by parasites - he can handle seeing something like a tick or tapeworm with the same reaction as any normal person would. But when it comes to more extreme organisms like Las Plagas, it's going to get a much stronger negative reaction out of him. Just thinking about it is enough to make his skin crawl - god forbid if he actually gets infected by it again.

While my portrayal of him is based exclusively on the remake of RE2/RE4 (so far), he does have a scar on his cheek from his first encounter with Krauser in Spain (which is something that normally only happens in the original RE4).

For any scenarios involving his infected verse where Las Plagas is involved; the mutations he gets are heavily derived from insects, similar to that of the Vertugo, rather than being more "fleshy" like Krauser, Salazar, or Saddler's mutations. The exact details of his infection may vary depending on the thread (or the exact parasite/virus he's infected with in the first place!), but by "default", he undergoes a gradual metamorphosis where his Plaga-derived attributes will develop, as a result of leftover DNA from the Plagas parasite back in Spain. Basically; he's mutating, but because there's no parasite in him, he still has free will and actually has a measure of control over his mutations. Not at first, though.

For the process of mutation, it's not necessarily (severely) painful, but it is an unpleasant process. He develops chitin plates on various parts of his body, mainly along the spine and on his forelimbs. These develop directly underneath the skin before said skin literally sheds off - think of something like the velvet on antlers. Other features, such as spines, the tail, or the extra pair of limbs, just sprout from his body ""normally"".

The first time he undergoes the mutation process, it's something he can't control, and he's basically forced to gradually morph from a full-on human to what is basically a Verdugo. It is, however, reversible - whether by his own will or by a suppressive temporary vaccine. Later on, he gets the hang of controlling when and what to mutate, but it's still possible for it to occur when he doesn't want it to. This only occurs when his life is actively at risk.

A side effect of mutations is that Leon, when either in the middle of mutating or after, gets strong cravings for basically anything made from animal products. This is so that his body can replenish nutrients and other resources spent from... you know. Turning into a giant bug-human hybrid monster thing. He can still eat other foods just fine, thankfully.

Even though Krauser was responsible for Ashley's kidnapping, Leon was still ultimately against outright killing him, even though his former mentor/comrade/possibly ex-bf was literally trying to gut him open. When he beat Krauser and finished him off, he took his cap and knife as commemorative keepsakes to remember him by despite what he had done.

Ethan:

Post-RE7, while Ethan is biologically a human being, the Mold makes up such an extensive part of his body that it'd probably be more accurate to refer to him as a walking Mold colony in a near-perfect replica of a human being. While he still has the same biological functions as your average male homo sapiens, this comes with... unique abilities on account of him basically being a human-Mold hybrid.

First and foremost; his capacity to regenerate from wounds is insane. Obviously, he cannot instantly heal from an injury; he still needs to use medicine and stuff like stitches or bandages to treat and close wounds. But when they're actually treated, the Mold kicks in and facilitates the rapid repair of said injuries - it's basically what allows him to literally re-attach a lost limb just by pouring a shit ton of rubbing alcohol on it.

In high-stress situations, the Mold may begin to actually physically manifest on Ethan's body. This mainly presents itself with Ethan's face appearing as though it's been draped in shadow (something like this), with the extremities of his limbs turning pitch black. This is mostly done in 'preparation' for more extensive, temporary mutations - such as when he's in a life-or-death scenario, on rare occasions he might develop claws.

These situations also allow Ethan to regenerate more readily without needing prior treatment, at the cost of leaving him utterly exhausted afterward. On the plus side? He can literally survive being shot in the head with a pistol. He is simply Built Different.

Krauser:

Similar to Leon, he has a scar on his chest from their first knife-fight back in Spain, which is also something that normally only occurs in the original RE4 rather than the remake.

Despite having sided with Illuminatos under the premise of 'power', he was still very much so doing it to get back at the US government because of what happened in Operation Javier. The fact that he still clung to all the dog tags of his fallen comrades (which is something you can actually find in game) is proof enough of that.

While Krauser's mutations mainly consist of just his blade-arm and his shield/hand-arm, it's absolutely possible for him to mutate even further than that. Unlike Leon (in his infected verse anyway), who has to undergo a much more slow and gradual process of 'mastering' his mutative abilities, Krauser has full control of his abilities from the get-go due to him having the dominant strain of Las Plagas in him.

Wesker:

Much like Krauser, he has high control of just how much his mutations present themselves, though they can grow wild and unchecked should he grow unstable with his emotions - i.e when he fought Chris and Sheva at the end of RE5.

Despite Uroboros having a weakness to fire (to my memory at least), the Uroboros bonded with Wesker, in combination to him having the T-Virus in him, allows him to have STUPIDLY HIGH HEAT RESISTANCE. He was literally able to be half-way submerged in lava in an active volcano for almost a solid minute without dying from the sheer heat or from his body tissues being incinerated. Obviously, he'd probably still die from swimming in lava for any further than, say, two minutes, but basically; he can handle a little bit of a spicy dip.

It's 100% possible for Wesker to go toe-to-toe with a Spartan-II, on account of his insane Vash the Stampede levels of reaction speed (and the fact that he can move so fast that it looks like he's fucking teleporting).

The Merchant:

The reason why the Merchant appears at seemingly convenient locations throughout Leon's mission in Spain, despite how he should not be able to have a full-on shop set up at those spots by the time Leon gets there, is rather simple; he's an Arch-Judicator of the Worm-in-Waiting. Being an envoy of what is basically The God of the Multiverse, he pretty much works to provide his services to... mix things up, if you will.

Despite being a singular person and also referring to himself with words such as "I" or "my", he also frequently refers to himself with words such as "our" or "us". It's not really known why he does it, but it's probably to do with the fact that he can access other timelines when needed by his patron. It could be that he's referring to all instances of the Merchant that ever have and will exist.

[Alright, I'm going to take this one because it feels like we're going to go round and round on this otherwise, and there seems to be a little bit of a misunderstanding about a few core tenants concerning this blog and rping in general.

First: yes, Vegeta is canonically married to Bulma. Should he be in my opinion? No, but that's another conversation.

Second: I state many times on my blog that the narrative and characters, unless stated otherwise, are canon divergent in some way, shape or form. For Vegeta, part of his canon divergence comes from him not marrying Bulma, and that even goes for verses that are closest to canon. The closest I will write them to married is essentially in a common law/marriage of convenience, where it was basically a deal between Bulma and Vegeta. Bulma gets to call him her husband to fend off unwanted, negative attention she would most likely get from sexist and nosy media personalities as a celebrity as well as have Trunks's father around to help raise him (even though that obviously doesn't go as well as she hopes). In exchange, Vegeta gets to continue to live there, be fed and clothed, and have the gravity chamber to train in whenever he pleases. However, by default, on this blog, he never married Bulma or agreed to this deal.

Sure, I'm open to rping something like the scenario I mentioned above, but that would be considered an AU on this blog. Which I know is confusing since my main verse here is already an AU, but that's basically what it means when a blog is multiverse: it means they RP different verses with different scenarios and sometimes changes to the original canon, and all of these universes are separate unless stated or suggested otherwise.

In short: this blog is canon divergent, meaning not everything that happens in canon happens in the main universe of this blog, and it's multiverse, meaning, unless stated otherwise, each roleplay that seems to diverge with another, i.e. like me rping Vegeta not married to Bulma while picking up another thread where he is "married" to Bulma, they are separate universes.

This is probably a lot, but I hope this helps clear things up.]

Oh boy, that’s… that’s actually really hard for me. I have a hard time picking favorites, because I generally love things for very different reasons. I know much more clearly what I dislike when I see it; enjoying things is sorta my default state, y’know?

Like, take the AU question. I’d be hard pressed to tell you whether a good Reverse Robins setup was something I liked better than, say, @jube-art’s Superfam/Batfam role-swap (which, if you haven’t seen it, go check it out!)

I’m also working my way through canon chronologically, and am still in the early/mid-90s, so there’s a lot of characters I haven’t officially gotten to, and a lot of stories I haven’t gotten the chance to really dig into yet. (I made it to Knightfall, realized I hadn’t put any of the buildup to that arc in my comic library, and decided to go back and read Barbara’s time with the Suicide Squad instead.) I don’t feel comfortable planting a flag on this until… oh, at least until ~2006, probably. (Which, given just how many books/characters suddenly got added in the 90s, will probably take a while.)

(There are also lots of characters who have so much potential in their backstory/power set, but who never got to use them to their full potential. Or who only had the cool parts of their backstory tacked on as an obvious retcon in the process of writing them out of the story, because the fans were vocally upset about them, meaning they never got the exploration any of those story ideas deserved.) (I have a special level of ire for power sets that are really cool on a surface level, but where the creators added just one power too many to stop them from being fully interesting. For example, Menagerie’s bugs having mind control properties overcomplicates her too much, in my opinion. Or—if you’ll let me hop over to Marvel—a character like Alpha who has all the “standard” superpowers, but only one at a time? What makes that interesting is having to choose between being super-strong or invulnerable or super-fast (etc.) therefore this character should not have ranged attack options built into said power set; it disincentivizes him from ever getting up-close with enemies, forcing the writer to choose between having the character be stupid or having the character never use the interesting elements of their powers. (…I mean, Alpha being stupid is kinda the point of his plot, but you see what I’m getting at, right?))

I will say, I adored Jason’s post-Crisis Robin run (in both Batman series, though for very different reasons) and so far very little has brought me as much joy as reading DC’s Detective Comics from that time period! And those few pages of Dan Mora’s B&W cyberpunk short that went around recently had me absolutely frothing with excitement for the possibilities that verse holds. And Jason being Tim’s Robin brings me endless joy, which neither canon nor jerkfaces will take from me.

(Aaaaaaaand while shipping isn’t the catharsis I come to comics for (thank gods, basically every canon ship I’ve witnessed thus far has been awful in motion even when their potential is off the charts,) I can actually blame DCEU SuperBat for getting me into this whole mess in the first place. Blame @susiecarter, whose fics I found immediately after watching someone do a deep-dive analysis of everything that went wrong with BvS, which I paused when I thought, “Huh, these are actually all really good points… I bet fanfiction has done this exact story, but with much better execution, recognizable characterization, and probably a hell of a lot gayer. Let’s go check.”)

“You don’t have inspiration this time around?”

“It’s not that actually. . .” Albedo responds, eyeing the empty vial in his hand.

“This is 5 milliliters. . .hm.”

“Should I leave?” You half-smile. When Albedo got in ‘the zone’, it was usually best to leave and let him focus. Alchemy was a field that required the utmost thoroughness and dedication, which you believed suited him just fine. Not that he needed anyone to tell him otherwise.

“No, no. I apologize for being quite out of it today. I’m just conflicted. My behavior must reflect that.”

You nudge his shoulder. “There’s no need to be sorry.”

He sighs. “Still, I should be more aware of my surroundings.”

“Don’t be so hard on yourself, Albedo. You’re always finding something new, right? You notice so many different things.”

“But they feel inadequate when it counts.” Albedo confesses.

You perked up suddenly. “You know, I read something recently that might help.”

“Oh?”

“In the olden days, famous poets like Homer and would invoke the Muses in their work. Before the prologue or any other stanzas, a prayer or plea of some sort would be said. Inspiration was always seen as divine recognition and a blessing from above, so those who boasted or didn’t give credit would often be cursed or end up suffering. Maybe what you need is. . .a random object to draw inspiration from?”

He seems to consider it for a moment. “That does sound intriguing. But what could possibly be something I haven’t already studied?”

“I think that’s for you to figure out.” You gently place both of your hands in his. He looks up hopefully at your face, letting the smallest hint of a smile break his default expression.

“You have a point, Y/N. Still, I can’t help but feel like the answers I seek are right in front of me. . .” He crosses his arms.

You laugh lightly. It’s becoming crystal-clear that the whole advice column isn’t your forte.  “Maybe. Listen, I have to get going–finishing up commissions and all. . .but I’ll see you later? If you still want to eat together, that is.”

“Of course I do. Please take care, Y/N. I’ll meet you at Good Hunter later tonight.”

“Sounds like a plan!” You tip your head in his direction before exiting the lab, making sure to shut the door all the way.

Albedo waves his hand at you, his lips pressed in a tight line. No sooner was the door shut, did he collapse into his chair. The sudden, knotted feeling in his chest was something he couldn’t quite understand.

During your meal, he finally breaks the silence.

“I’d like you to model for me.” His monotone voice almost makes it seem like he’s reporting the weather or results of an alchemy experiment.

You were working through the remains of your Sweet Madame, picking at the sides you didn’t like–and completely caught off guard.

“Model for you? Oh of cour–wait. . .what?!”

“I’d like you to be the model for my next painting, Y/N.”

It was an odd request, you admit. You clear your throat, chugging down your drink and washing down the food that had somehow lodged itself in your throat. Honestly, you should know how to react better. It’s a simple request! One that you might have been the catalyst for, seeing as you decided to give advice on a field you’re not very well-versed in. Heck, you can’t even draw a stick figure!

But, witnessing Albedo’s earnest expression (as earnest as you can get when it comes to him) and simple query was endearing in some of the best ways. Maybe you could help him after all. Even though you’re certain that you are the farthest thing from runway-ready, Albedo probably doesn’t care. He’s asking for help, not demanding you solve his problems. Still, why would you want to say no to an opportunity like this?

“I’ll do my best to model for your next painting, Albedo!”

“Great.”

. . .

“What do you even wear to a modeling. . .er painting session?” You wonder aloud, sifting through your closet. There was always your favorite outfit, but even that seemed too ‘meh’ for today. Wasn’t there anything that wasn’t rumpled or neon-colored in Teyvat’s clothing industry? You debated asking one of your friends for a spare jacket or hat, but it was already 10 minutes before your appointment. Everyone was probably already at work.

You slip on a black shirt and pinafore combo, tugging the hem downwards and doing a quick spin in front of the mirror.

“Time to go!”

The art room smells like a mix of paint, wooden pencils, charcoal and clay. Basically, it’s heaven (as long as you don’t sniff the brush cleaner or eat the art paste used for paper mache).

“Sooo. . .I just have to sit down and smile?” You take a seat on a lone wooden tripod, probably forgotten from last night’s art class.

“Or wait, maybe I should frown? Or just stare blankly ahead? What vibe are we going for today? Do artists even try to capture ‘vibes’?”

Albedo runs a hand through his hair, looking anywhere but at his blank canvas that is staring him down. “I appreciate your ‘vibes’ and enthusiasm, Y/N. Though I’m not sure if I can capture this–”

“Nuh-uh. I’m not going to model for you if you keep going on this Albedo-bashing train of self-doubt. I don’t know how many times you need to hear this, but you’ve created and discovered so many beautiful things. I just know that whatever you paint today is going to be spectacular. Even if you decide to draw my nose backwards or. . .something. Just try. Isn’t that all we can do? No one’s perfect.”

“I guess you’re right.”

“Let’s get on with this then!”

“Alright.”

“Can I blink now?”

“Naturally.”

. . .

“How long has it been? The sun is going down.” You point out. Your legs are numb from being stuck in one position for the past hours.

“I’m almost finished, Y/N.”

“You’ve said that 5 times already!”

. . .

“You’re art.”

Albedo stops mid-stroke, setting his paintbrush down to dry. The purple line he swept across the canvas appears more jagged than he would like. Still, he picks your voice out of the soft whispers and ideas that cloud his mind. He can’t help but listen.

“What did you say?” His voice rings out in the quiet of the room.

“You’re art.”

Albedo is taken aback by those two words. He tentatively peeks out from behind his current project to glance at your face.

“What about my art?”

You half-smile, folding one hand over the other. You’re not entirely sure if this is the best thing to share right now. He might not understand. No, it’s not that he won’t understand--it’s that you’re afraid to come to terms with something you’ve known all along. Confessing your feelings--to Albedo’s face (you might add) might change everything.  

“Y/N, if there’s anything you want to know about my art–you can just ask.”

It was bound to be said anyway. Once you start speaking, you can’t stop. The words you’ve saved up in your heart just overflow and spill themselves at the artist’s feet. Maybe he’ll accept them.  

“Your art is an extension of yourself, Albedo. And I. . .think that what you create is beautiful. But not just that. What I really think, is that you’re beautiful. You’re art. And I hope that I can be a muse and reach you.”

His breath catches in his throat. He never expected something like that. All the planning and carefully executed experiments he’s laid out have never quite reached this type of outcome. The room is charged in an almost electrifying tension and the seconds turn to minutes. The flecks of dust in the lab stand out in the almost pristine lab, catching the sunbeams that filter through the windows.

Albedo kneels at your feet, keeping his head facing downward. He gently clutches your hand and lifts it to his lips.  

“You know, in some ways the subject of the art is more important than the actual artist.” He says softly.

“That’s where you’re wrong, Albedo.” You chide him.

“It takes two.”

You nudge his shoulder, prompting him to stand up. He falls into your embrace, holding you with unimaginable tenderness.

Shipping and Handling - Hayato (and maybe bonus TYL!Hayato?))

Thank you for specifying the age and setting on this one because believe it or not, it does make a difference. In his default 18yr and on verse Gokudera is still that cocky, loud mouth teen but has slowly started to mellow out some. He's learning the repercussions of his actions and is still in that state somewhat of not realizing or understanding why he has fangirls and still finds girls annoying at first. Your muse is gonna have to prove to him you're after more than the looks, the bad boy image, the mafia rank, you have to get to know him on a deeper level than the surface, because these are things he's already used to women chasing him for. You're going to have to prove to him you have no ill intent towards the Vongola to begin with because as we've seen, this guy doesn't usually trust a lot of people. From his personality I can imagine he doesn't handle betrayal well and looking at his past and how he grew up he's a bit suspicious of random people coming on to him. Which is why in the verse with King he was so confused on how they could love him when he'd never met them before. Which was an immediate red flag. So if King really wants him, they're gonna have to prove it or else he's gonna probably think they're just like everyone else.

Using his TYL icon for this one because yes, even though we saw only a few scenes of him, I headcanon TYL Dera is a completely different ball game than his default. It's said he is one of the most feared right hands of that era and for good reason. Considering the Vongola were basically under attack and most Mafia families were dying out left and right in that time, save for some of the strongest, we already know they're in a bad situation. Add in the fact that they were led to believe TYL Tsuna was gone (the only one who was actually let in on the plan was TYL Hibari, however I feel like Gokudera might have done a little snooping of his own and figured somethings out himself due to the letter he left behind but that's for a different headcanon entirely,) and you can already see he's changed by then. He's probably colder, under even more pressure considering if the Boss dies, it's ultimately up to the Right Hand to carry on or disband the family, and we see they were still going. At such a point in his life, I actually see Gokudera closing himself off and making himself unavailable because he has way too much to deal with currently in that time setting unless he was already involved with someone. Not saying it's impossible to get him, but just that with all the shit they went through, a relationship would be his last concern. But if it did happen, your muse would have to prove they were not an enemy in disguise, they would have to be patient and understand the mission comes before them. They would have to understand when he does come home late, it's because of work, he wasn't cheating. They would have to understand some things have to be done for political reasons ie: a bride being offered to him from another boss to gain an alliance, or undercover missions, like fake dating AU to get intel on an enemy family. In which cases if your muse wants him, they better speak up fast because with his rank being so high he would be one of the first ones they'd try to get to.

Your muse would also have to understand why he doesn't want to talk a lot at this point and that there could be a vow of silence at some point and just general classified things he literally can't talk about and that's it not him being emotionally distant by choice, it's that by mafia code, his hands are tied on the matter. Your muse needs to understand there will be times when he's away for weeks or even months at a time. And that he's under a lot of pressure so if he blows up about something small it's not your character, it's because of work and stress.

Also with his workaholic tendencies, your muse would have to make sure he's not pushing himself too much and actually taking care of himself like eating. -motions to Haru in the TYL arc worrying when it was almost 11 pm and he still hadn't left the training room-
