something from the book i so wish had been in the tbosas movie is the way snow thinks lucy gray is below him...and the fact that he never grows out of it (which doesn't mean he doesn't like her, he just also kind of despises her and people like her). when i reread the book i had just seen killers of the flower moon and snow and lucy gray's relationship was very reminiscent of ernest and mollie's relationship for me like when king hale asks ernest "can you stand [mollie's] kind?" even though their kind were doing unspeakable things to her kind? snow and lucy gray's relationship is very much like that to me and there's also the power he has over her by literally being responsible for her life and idk i feel like if you only watch the movie you can delude yourself into thinking he's somewhat overcome his prejudice against people from the districts by falling in love with a girl who isn't from the capitol when he never does he thinks they're savages from day 1 to day like 60 and he thinks it on day 55 too
#it's like this racial thing kind of which is why it really reminded me of killers of the flower moon because yeah that's a movie about#white people marrying into native families and killing them and inheriting their money and about leonardo dicaprio's character poising his#wife to do that and blowing up her sister's house. etc#and so i don't care about people being like oh snow's hot because like that's the face of an actor of course people would think that lol#but the takes i see about him and lucy gray's relationship i'm like. huh.#also the possessiveness. i could actually go on for quite a while about the changes in their dynamic that makes it not hit like it did in#the book or like he's still kinda possessive i guess but it's a little aw her ex-boyfriend is the reason why she was a tribute of course he#doesn't like him. when like. he legit thinks of her as belonging to him. in many ways#also the one change that i think shows that their relationship is portrayed differently in significant ways in the movie is the fact that#when he wakes up in the hospital he immediately tells tigris and sejanus that lucy gray saved him when in the book he was literally like NO#ONE CAN EVER KNOW#i was like oh!#and when you change that it's kind of like. what's the point then#there's also something to be said about how he says she's not really from 12 and about how it's unfair she had to live there at all. and#her not really being from 12 is something she says herself but!#also while i was reading the book i was totally reminded of the quote from that guy who made the last of us about how#intense hate is universal and about vengeance#like literally okay coriolanus snow#and like i say: brf slt

I have some thoughts on episode 3 of House of the Dragon.
Viserys isn’t able to find the White Hart, and has to make do with a simple stag. It has to be held down for him and he’s able to saunter up to give it the final blow. Despite this, he’s unable to kill it with one definitive blow, having to go for a second after a long, drawn out period has passed. In contrast to this, his daughter Rhaenyra is approached by the white hart herself, and kills a boar with her life on the line. This is great symbolism in more than one way - of course, Rhaenyra is the rightful heir, and we see the proof of that with the Hart approaching her. I argue that there’s more than that happening here, though.
Viserys had a perfect realm handed over to him by Jaehaerys I, arguably the greatest king who ever sat the throne. However, it’s pretty clear in text that the only reason he was chosen over his cousin Rhaenys, despite her having the better claim, is because he is a man. Viserys is a good man, but he is a weak King. He frequently ignores things he does not want to deal with - the Crabfeeder gaining power in the Stepstones & hurting the fleets of the Velaryons, people actively naming Aegon heir despite his own wish of Rhaenyra inheriting after him, etc. Episode 3 was great because it showed his lack of Kingship - Viserys is getting drunk & gorging himself on a hunting trip where he has 0 chance of getting hurt, with his men literally bringing the prize of the hunt to him. In contrast, Corlys and Daemon are losing a war in the literal backyard of Westeros. Viserys has to be persuaded by several people, including his teenage wife, that intervening would be a good idea.
Viserys having the stag held down for him to safely approach shows how he inherited the Iron Throne from King Jaehaerys, a man who pushed the realm into a period of stability and wealth almost unseen. The white hart does not approach him or his son Aegon, because neither of them are truly worthy of Kingship in a metaphorical sense - Viserys because he’s an unworthy King, Aegon because his claim comes second to his sister Rhaenyra. When Viserys fails to definitively strike and hesitates before finally killing the stag, it could show his indecisive nature. It could also show that he was incorrect with his initial push to get a son to wear Aegon’s crown, a dream he obsessed over that pushed his wife Aemma to her eventual death, and that in naming Rhaenyra, he was correct.

🎀🍬 for Hya bc those are too funny lol
DHDJDJRJRJRJJ his worst nightmare in 2 questions
🎀 Opening birthday presents in front of others, being sang to when given their cake, etc.
of the two, hya is more comfortable dealing with being in a celebratory crowd. it’s one of the many “wifely duties” in paramour — ie: managing the social scene and he’s been taught well by tagetes. i’m actually Not Sure what birthday traditions galeré has and that’s something interesting to think about but focusing on how we do birthdays TM his patience is so thin. like he’s not a huge fan of sweets but being sung to already makes him 😒—let alone when people start to tell him to blow out the candles JSSJSJ the only way he would is if aloe asked him to 💀 he also hates opening presents in front of others because He Will Judge you. if he thinks it’s a bad present he’d be all “and who the fuck bought this” and throw it out in front of you probably BDJDRJJ best bet is to just give him money fr he’s so picky and very few can get him to Not Complain about a present. (and before you think amon, it’s not. the only person who can consistently get hya presents he likes is tagetes which pisses him off SO MUCH LMAOOOOO)
so long story short: he hates it 💀
🍬 Being put in charge of a couple rowdy kids
i’m actually gonna hijack this question to talk about the kids hya canonically has in his life aka, lavendula’s children. viola (10), barbatus (9) and rumex (6). viola (similarly to her mother lowkey) is very taken by hya’s air and mannerisms and has heard so much about him from aloe that she can’t help but want to be around him and be like him which. baffles hya greatly. whenever they’re in the same room she’s always trying to talk his ear off and it is SUUUUCH an exercise in patience for him. she does kind of win him over (aided by hya moving away and marrying amon pff) because she loves books and as mentioned, hya also likes books. so when he realizes that she can have an intelligent conversation about books and themes in literature he warms up to her more (well, as much as he can being himself).
barbatus however is a different story and is more of the rambunctious type that the questions talking about 💀💀 he’s proud and hard headed and defiant but is still yknow. a child. so he gets in over his head and whines and cries when shit happens and hya is exhausted with him immediately. especially bc barbatus is more of the roughhousing type and hya is having Literally None Of That. he tends to talk back and that pisses hya off so he usually dumps barbatus onto someone else’s hands (later in life onto amon mostly) bc he can’t deal with that shit LMAO.
rumex he doesn’t quite know what to do with and similarly rumex doesn’t know what to do with him. bc rumex has always been sickly their social skills are under developed and they have a lot of separation anxiety from lavendula. they also got the worst of their father’s abuse, so they see hya as kind of similar (authoritative figure) and keep their distance. hya doesn’t care either way but it’s something that distresses lavendula;;;
and under a cut i’ll put some actual prose regarding hya and the kids PFF. idk if or where this would fit in anywhere but it’s a good explore to who he is:
“It was very kind of you to invite us to your residence, Hyacinthus.” Lavendula folded her fan with delicate fingers and curtsied.
“Tagetes insisted.” Hyacinthus eyed the younglings gathered close to their mother’s skirts, and gave his half-sister a stare that would resemble one you’d give a particularly irritating mule. “Though, I don’t recall you mentioning you’d be bringing the—”
“Your niece was desperate to see you, and I needed to get the boys out of the house. For fresh air.” Lavendula replied breezily, and Hyacinthus regarded the young girl grasping her hand with a blank stare. She looked up at him shyly, wiggling her fingers in what could be discerned as a passable wave, then tucked her face back against her mother’s purple gown. The taller, older of the boys, that stood astride his mother with his chest poked out, piped up: “Do you have a garden Uncle Hya?”
“Barbatus, manners.” Lavendula scolded gently. The boy looked back at his mother, confused. “What? He is Uncle Hya right? Why can’t I call him that?”
“Don’t be bull headed.” Lavendula looked back to Hyacinthus, seeming to beg him with her eyes. “Do you happen to have a garden that the boys can play in.” She paused. “... Preferably one with a gate.” Hyacinthus snapped his fingers and a maid standing idly by the door snapped to attention. With his wave, she quickly scurried over.
“Yes, my lord?”
“See the children out to the inner courtyard. Make sure they don’t kill themselves.”
“Hyacinthus…”
“Isn’t that what children do when left to their own devices?” Hyacinthus gave a listless shrug, and the maid, happy to be dismissed from his presence, quickly took both his niece and his nephew’s hands, then with Barbatus trailing along, headed out towards the courtyard.

What if Aerys died at Duskendale?
okay, just like. some tw for torture here, i know it’s asoiaf but the fates of the darklyns is. a lot.
So, first of all, the people of Duskendale are even more fucked than they were in the main series. They didn’t just traumatize the king, and make Tywin look like an idiot, they killed the king. Poor Lady Serala is going to experience sexual humiliation to an extreme even for Westeros(she Already experiences a really racialized death in having her genitals mutiliated & being burned on a pyre & the people of Duskendale think this was too kind. if she’s partially responsible for the death of the king, she is fucked on such a massive, horrific scale. think the very worst of what Mysaria & Elia & Tysha & Tytos’ mistress experience here). Dontos is likely not spared because Barristan is not granted a boon for saving the King. Never mind massacring the whole of houses Darklyn & Hollard, I think it’s likely Tywin calls for the wholesale slaughter of all of Duskendale and burns the city to the ground.
After that, well, Rhaegar is 18 and old and not yet engaged to Elia. Losing Aerys to a petty rebel is likely a massive blow to the Targaryen Propaganda Machine, & while Rhaegar is young enough to rule & hasn’t yet shown any signs of being a tyrant, Aerys was also promising and look how that ended up. Politically, he’s on shaky grounds. I think Rhaegar is smart enough to realize he has to make some alliances quick, and that means a smart marriage for him, and probably a remarriage for his mother as well. Westeros’ Most Eligible Bachelorette’s include several Hightowers, Mina and Janna Tyrell (Mace’s sisters), Cersei Lannister, Lysa Tully, and Elia Martell, but there’s been several Rargaryens who married slightly more obscure houses to help keep peace - see Baelor marrying a Marcher, Aerys marrying a Stormlander (and we don’t know where the Penrose seat is, it’s possible they are also in the Marches), Rhaenyra marrying Laenor (tho that match was admittedly a completely failure lmaoo), etc. It’s possible Rhaegar attempts a match with someone in the Crownlands as sort of a “I’m not mad, I’m not gonna do collective punishment, I promise it was just the Darklyns we’re massacreing, you’re all good” sort of thing, possible he marries Cersei as a way of keeping Tywin as his loyal hand, possible he settles on Elia because he worries he’ll need their soldiers soon, and he’s already friends with Arthur Dayne.
The biggest change here is that Jaime may not join the Kingsguard - he isn’t raised up until 281 and that’s done bc of Aerys/Cersei/Jaime all scheming with their various motives, and with Aerys out of the picture, that seems less likely (for now at least - it might change when Tywin starts seriously looking for a wife for Jaime). One of the other biggest changes is Tywin himself - he hasn’t retired as Hand yet, his suit was rejected but by Aerys not Rhaegar, and we have genuinely no idea how close Rhaegar and Tywin were! Does he decide to just keep Tywin as his hand or does he attempt to distance himself? Tywin is the key here and we know little about how he felt about Rhaegar; all of his reminiscing about the Targaryen Dynasty centers around Aerys, not Rhaegar. If Tywin is on Rhaegar's side, it's possible Tywin can keep Rhaegar in line at least enough to stall the rebellion or make it less bloodthirsty. If Rhaegar and Tywin don't get along, however, things probably go very similarly to the main series.

Hey guys! I have something besides art for you to indulge on, a lil’ writing ficlet so I hope it’s still up to par
I thought about what a scenario for Mirabel’s arrival might be like and how Bruno dealt with the complications, situation of her birth, and the death of his wife etc. This one might be unlikely and least likely to happen since him and his wife would be living in Casita, but I just thought that maybe during her pregnancy she’d want to stay at her childhood place of origin near the Encanto and Bruno decided to stay with her.
Mentions of childbirth and blood TW:
Enjoy the angst!
Bruno couldn’t take the clenching of his soul as he had kneeled over his lover’s bed, pleading for her to wake up to see their new baby, but she never moved a muscle after the bebé had come into the world, bleeding too much and too fast for Bruno to run and get help from his sister.
The loud thunder and cracking in the sky shattered Colombia as rain pelted the ground in heavy sheets. Bruno was far from the Encanto—at least farther away in his mind than it actually was. He took his wailing child in his arms and huddled her close to his ruana in hopes of shielding her from the beating rain that stung his eyes like a thousand bees. The hood of his ruana did no good as the wool had already been soaked.
He stumbled over his sandaled feet as his eyes tried adjusting to the darkness of the night, the lightning and small lantern his only source of light as he ran through the jungle of trees in his path. He panted heavy, trembling at the deafening cries of his daughter—the howling wind, the claps of thunder, the water rushing and beating on the earth were too loud for her new ears to take in.
He briefly stopped to rest his aching limbs, exhausted from the long hours he spent by his wife’s side during labor and now the loss of his only love—the only one he ever knew.
He leaned against a well shaded tree, looking down and waiting for the flashes of lightning to reveal her shrouded face in the damp blankets despite the covered lantern resting at his feet.
She was beautiful and shining with features that strongly resembled her mother, making Bruno clench at the thought. He shifted the baby in his arms once again and bolted back onto the path.
His daughter didn’t stop wailing. She hadn’t eaten and was weak. An empty stomach with new sounds and terrifying conditions would never calm her, even pressed tightly against her Papá who felt a world of guilt surrounding him.
The rain didn’t cease as he kept on, his entire body practically soaked, his hood no longer useful as it laid heavily over his head, gladly allowing the wind to blow it off his soaking hair when a gust hit him at full blast. He kept begging and pleading for the Encanto to keep visible through the dense jungle, his mind restless and wired. He stopped again when he was losing his grip on the soaked blankets cradling his baby.
“Shhh shhh, lo siento, hija. Papì está aquí. We’re almost there.”
He fixed his hold on her, standing there breathing heavily and taking in the sight of her trying to stay as close as possible to him. He felt tears well up in his eyes when he thought of his beloved lying in the bed, unresponsive to him trying to show their baby to her again. In that moment he was shattered to pieces and thinking of it made him tremble.
He pressed on once again, having put her entire body under his ruana completely so she at least had a bit more coverage despite everything being soaked.
Bruno exited the jungle in relief and went around the village even though he knew no one would be out to see him in these conditions. He stumbled several times in the dark before slowing down as he approached the large doors to the casita.
“Casita, please let us in… I-it’s Bruno! It’s an emergency! Don’t wake anyone up…”
The house tried its best to show concern as it quietly opened the doors for him. He maneuvered around the wet areas where the rain fell inside, staying under the awnings and quickly making his way up to Julieta’s room. The baby had ceased her crying, but she was still whimpering weakly.
He approached her door, dripping wet, his sandals covered in mud with his feet uncomfortably squelching it between his toes as he walked.
He knocked with trembling hands, a million possible things to say spiraling in his brain as he panicked inside. He hadn’t seen her in over a year after his wife got pregnant.
He stopped knocking, hoping the wind, the rain and the thunder didn’t keep her from hearing his knocks. Thankfully the door opened slowly and Julieta poked her head between the crack of it, eyes looking exhausted as it was the middle of the night. They suddenly widened when she locked eyes with her brother, taking in his disheveled appearance and trembling body. She blinked several times as if trying to make sure that she wasn’t dreaming and her gaze fell to the lump under his ruana.
“Bruno?” Thunder cracked overhead.
“Julie… I-I need your help… please.”
She ushered him inside quietly as not to disturb Agustín who was still asleep. Thankfully he was a heavy sleeper, but Julieta expressed great concern towards Bruno when he revealed what was under the ruana. He started to breathe heavily through tears he tried to hold back, voice breaking.
“She needs help, Julie… I’m—I–I don’t know what to do…”
She approached him, eyebrows knit in worry as her jaw slacked, mouth hanging open. She gently motioned to take the baby from his arms and he slumped against a nearby chair with a heavy sigh, kicking off his sandals. Casita had them cleaned up in no time.
“Hold on a second… where…where did you find her?” Julieta swallowed thickly as the baby squirmed against her. She quickly moved to replace the soaked blanket she was swaddled in and dried her.
Bruno swallowed hard, fumbling with his hands in front of his chest, trying to make himself look smaller as he watched.
“S–she’s mine, Hermana…”
Julieta shot him a shocked glance and shook her head slow after her face fell.
“Oh, Bruno… Julia? The Mamá…?” She was almost scared to ask.
Bruno buried his face in his hands and tried to compose himself as he kept trembling. It took him awhile to answer as he fumbled with the words, but he managed to start.
“Oh, Dios, she didn’t make it… s-she was bleeding so much. The birth… it was difficult. She had so much trouble and I was there for all of it. I–I should’ve—I should’ve come to get you, but she begged and begged me not to leave her. She told me she was fine. The midwife’s hands… dios…. Covered in blood. When she was born, my beautiful Julia—was already gone.”
Julieta was frozen as she listened to his breaking voice. He was so exhausted from head to toe. She felt deep sorrow for him and came over to lay a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“She didn’t get…to s–see our baby, h–Hermana…”
“It’s okay, Bruno, it wasn’t your fault. I… had no idea she was even pregnant. Is that where you’ve been? In that village with her?”
Bruno took a deep breath and let it out with a big sigh.
“Y–yes, I—she didn’t want anyone to know, not even the familia. I didn’t understand… I–I guess in a way she didn’t want to be burdened.”
Bruno caught glance of a stain of blood on his ruana and let a tear fall.
“She was in labor for a whole day…I’m n–not sure exactly, I lost track of time after the midwife announced the baby was turned the wrong way. She was coming feet first…”
He choked on his words as he told the story.
“She pushed and pushed… for hours it seemed and the midwife—no, she couldn’t turn her the right way… Julia… was in so much pain, she just… wanted it all to end. She was sick, and she went into labor early… Th–the baby hasn’t been fed. She’s so new, so small…”
The realization of his wife’s death hit him, but Julieta wanted to help him stop thinking about it. She nudged him and placed the baby back in his arms. She fussed, but was too tired and hungry to cry and scream anymore.
“Try to relax… I’ll have to go down to the kitchen and make some formula. You can come down with me or stay here.”
Bruno’s eyes were locked on his child, pressing her close to him.
“I-I’ll stay. Don’t want to wake everyone.”
Julieta nodded and quietly left on quick feet.
Bruno let his tears fall, finally able to see his daughter in the full candlelight, and soon enough in the sun.
“You look just like your Mamá… my sweet mariposa.”
She was still too weak to fuss and Bruno knew she needed help fast. The birth had been hard on her too, coming feet first like that. His other hand not supporting her took her little fist and she uncurled her fingers to wrap around his larger finger.
“You need a name, hija.” He cooed quietly.
He though on several for awhile, but then one seemed to click and he said it out loud while looking down at her.
“What about… Mirabel? My little miracle.”
There was no apparent response, but Bruno already knew it was perfect. She squirmed again, unsettled most likely from the hunger.
“Shh, shh shh, just a little longer, hija.”
It didn’t take Julieta very long and when she quietly came through the door, Bruno shakily took the bottle from his sister.
Julieta gently helped him hold her properly and guided the bottle to her lips with his hand in hers.
“…Like that. She should settle once she’s got a hold of the bottle. You should also unbutton your shirt so you can get some skin to skin contact. It’ll help her bond with you.”
Mirabel made little whimpering sounds as she started suckling the bottle. Bruno did as his sister suggested, causing his emotions to flare up. She immediately snuggled comfortably against his skin, suckling softly on the bottle.
“There you go… she’s hungry alright.”
Julieta stayed and watched the scene until little Mirabel had finished her bottle, tiny eyes blinking slowly as if the light bothered her.
Bruno couldn’t keep his eyes from watering. He shakily handed the empty bottle to his sister.
“I—I can’t believe she’s mine, Julie…”
She smiled sadly.
“Have you picked a name?”
“Mirabel. Her name is Mirabel,” He sniffled.
Julieta could see the exhaustion in his frame. She kneeled beside him and placed her hand on his back. He shook as he took in a deep breath.
“Oh, Bruno it’s a wonderful name. I know you’ll be a good Papá.”
He nodded and quickly wiped his eyes.
“You need some rest and so does she. I have Luisa’s old crib over here, I’ll just lay her in there okay? She’ll be fine.”
Bruno allowed her to take little Mirabel in her arms again, his eyes heavy but trying to stay open to watch her lay her in the crib.
Julieta was struck with the contagious emotions her brother had cast on her. She sniffled quietly as she tenderly laid her in the crib, laying the old blanket of her own children over her for extra warmth. She wiped tears away before they could fall on Mirabel.
“I’m so sorry, little one…” she whispered before turning back to Bruno, letting go of the little hand that had snagged her finger.
He was already half asleep, but Julieta held his cheek and kissed his hair, whispering praises and condolences before blowing out the candles.
She moseyed on back into bed beside Agustín, wide awake as her mind ran on and on, wired up. She couldn’t believe Julia was gone. How would the rest of the family react? And to Bruno suddenly becoming a Papá?
As she continued to lay there with her face to the ceiling, it seemed she wouldn’t be getting any more sleep that night.

REGION SPOTLIGHT :: THE KINGDOM OF DORNE
The winds of change never stop blowing in Westeros and the same can be said for the region of Dorne. From the death of their Prince, Mors Martell, who ruled for his father to be murdered at the start of his own reign leaving his daughter a monarch all too young. An ever changing court of Lords and Ladies answering the call of the Widowed Princess Myriam Allyrion. Will this new small council be able to handle all that comes with ruling in the stead of a child? Will their courtiers have trust in their Widow Princess? Her council? Or will whispers and accusations of murder grow louder?
Recent Plot Drop: The murder of Lord Rashid Jordayne within voltantis is bound to have severe consequences for the relations between the two realms. will the tolands of ghost hill take advantage of the tor's recent mourning and strike the tor hard?
Houses can be found here. Beneath the cut will include the Small Council of the reigning sovereign of Dorne Princess Leila of House Martell
Wanted Connections: 2 Sisters and 1 brother (Lord of High Hermitage) of House Dayne, sisters of House Manwoody, Sister of House Jordayne, and many more! Come join us in Dorne where they remain UNBOWED, UNBENT, UNBROKEN.
THE SMALL COUNCIL OF DORNE:
current regent, with stewardship over the princess: princess dowager myriam allyrion, wife of the previous prince, mors martell. (if someone picks up a martell, i'd be down for there to be tensions regarding them thinking they should be the regent considering they are a martell)
the first minister of the realm: lord baashir of house dayne, the sword of the morning. this is the equivalent of the 'hand' only they are not called such a thing in dorne, for to consider someone a 'hand' is believed to be degrading. baashir sees over a large stretch of affairs in dorne: but is more military and political rather than social or economic.
the second minister of the realm: dante uller. this individual oversee social conflict within dorne; they are settling regional disputes before it goes further up the chain. they do answer to baashir, tho traditionally the first and second minister work well with one another. they hear audiences and petitions, etc.
the high commander: lady joy of house manwoody. her position is that of strategy and overseeing the standards of the armed forces of dorne, which have now become a standing army. could be a controversial move. she also decides the standards of the armed forces, and their regime.
the master of laws: lord dastan allyrion. he is the voice of justice, and works closely with the second and first minister. dastan will be the judge on trials, working closely with a jury. it is he that is responsible for ensuring the laws of the lands are upheld. drafting new ones, removing old ones, etc. master of whispers: lord doran uller. he is responsible for keeping up to date with what is happening beyond the borders of dorne. his official focus is beyond dornish borders.
master of whispers: lord doran uller. he is responsible for keeping up to date with what is happening beyond the borders of dorne. his official focus is beyond dornish borders.
the master of coin: armaan yronwood. this individual is mathematical minded, and is focused on dorne trying to have a source of sustainable income, inspired by the reach. he knows they need something regular and steady. setting up the likes of banks, multiple branches across the country. he also wants to raise taxes, oof, drama.
the court granthi: OPEN. oh wisdom. this character is the one who can look up ancient lore, does a lot of consistent research of all things knowledge. excavation, unearthing long lost buried structures. this person is also considered to be the holiest person in all of dorne, and is dorne's link with the seven. naturally, due to their differences, this person has a lot of feelings about the rest of westeros and their version of following the seven. knowledge is power, and granted by the gods.
NOT ON THE COUNCIL BUT POSITIONS NONETHELESS:
the web: amaia sand. works closely with the keeper of whispers, and the master of laws. they are the ones who are the flies on the wall, the spies who know how to find themselves in the situations they need to be to hear things. they are referred to simply as 'the web' for they can find oneself tangled. once they have what they need, they tell the master of laws, and it goes further up the chain.
court astrologer:` zahra sand. astrology was huge in india, and i wanna bring it here. they consult the planets, birth charts, to advise on decision making dates and announcements.
finally, we have the justiciar of dorne, who is rashid jordayne. he works alongside his wife loreza martell as almost a 'last chance' way of trying to settle an issue. he is called into dealing with matters should talks have broken down, and any trials are either not able to happen, or have proved to be inconclusive. they are an objective perspective, who present their findings after an investigation directly to myriam.

warning: death, cancer, drinking, mental abuse, some physical abuse, cussing, crying, anxiety attacks, suicidal thoughts, child neglect
genre: angst
summary: before ivy even got to her teen years, things were more difficult than most adults lives. from losing her dad, to experiencing neglect.
a/n: ivy’s story is pretty deep. feel free to skip this post if you are triggered by anything listed. also i’ll be using her birth name a lot throughout this story.
languages: normal = english. italic = korean
olivia min was born june 4, 2001 in michigan. she is the youngest of three siblings. miya, the oldest, was born february 20, 1997. and austin, the middle child, was born august 4, 1999.
growing up, olivia had an amazing relationship with her family members. her parents were always really supportive of anything she wanted to do. and her siblings, were annoying, but they all love each other so much. the family was pretty middle class, maybe more upper middle class. they had enough money to buy nice things and go on trips, which was nice and it gave the kids experiences they’d always remember.
when she was a baby, the families friend jax, had given her the nickname ‘ivy.’ the name stuck with him and eventually spread to friends at school. but her family members always called her olivia or jisoo, her korean name.
in school she was a social butterfly, running around recess practically collecting friends like they were collectors items. and because of her loving nature, no one could say no. she’s also very smart, she’s always had straight a’s and was usually willing to participate in class. teacher would say she was a sweet and smart little girl, and of course she could make the class burst into giggles at any second.
olivia started dancing at the young age of 4 when her parents enrolled her into dance classes. there, she met new friends and became one of the best youth dancers in their town.
her grandparents lived in ohio, which meant a lot of the times they would travel there for the holidays. olivia had a friend named aggy that lived there.
aggy lived next door to ivy’s grandparents. she was diagnosed with leukemia only five months before meeting the family, this was when ivy was maybe 7 years old.
through the years, ivy excelled in everything from piano lessons that she started when she was 5, to even cooking. she was a cheerful and happy little girl. until she reached age 9 when her dad was diagnosed with lung cancer.
this was a huge reality hit. she didn’t really understand it though, her dad was healthy. until he wasn’t. she remembers that day so clearly
“where’s mom and dad?” olivia asked walking into the kitchen and seeing her sister sitting next to their sleeping brother on the couch
“hospital, grandma and grandpa will be here in a few hours. for now our neighbors are gonna look after us”
“hospital? but why?” the little girl tilted her head
“i don’t know olivia. go back to sleep it’s early” miya did know, she saw her dad getting worse and worse as the months went on. but the last thing anyone wanted to do was worry anymore people. especially austin and olivia.
“okay…” she responded and went back toward her bedroom.
a few hours later she woke up to her grandma shaking her awake “wake up olivia. grandpa and i brought lunch.” the elderly woman spoke
olivia smiled at her grandmother as she sat up and stretched. the girl walked to the kitchen.
she still remembers all the yummy food her grandparents made, now knowing it was out of grief. later that night was when her parents revealed the truth to the kids.
and suddenly her whole world collapsed.
she would miss dance class and sometimes even school because her father would be in the hospital. because her mom and dad were always gone, she and her other siblings were expected to help around the house. occasionally with their grandparent by their side.
when she turned 10, she didn’t have much of a birthday blow out. and her present was some nail polish because that was all her family could afford at the time. when she turned 11, they spent her birthday in the hospital. her dads condition became so much worse that he wasn’t able to leave the hospital.
“i’m sorry you have to spend your birthday like this livvy” her dad held her had. his skin was paler than usual. colder too.
“it’s okay dad, i’m just happy we’re all here” she smiled as she held back tears. but her dad knew she wanted to cry.
“me and your mom got you something” he smiled and looked at his wife. the woman smiled sadly and reach in her purse to pull out a small purple box.
olivia grabbed the box from her mothers hand and opened it slowly. a beautiful butterfly necklace was revealed.
“it took a little while for us to find the perfect one” her moms sniffled. “we wanted you to love it”
thinking back on that moment. ivy now understood they wanted it to be special because it would be the last gift she would ever receive from her father.
“thank you mommy. thank you daddy” she whispered and pecked her dads forehead.
sadly, on june 29, her father passed away in the middle of the night. for some reason, her brain blocks this moment out. it’s all a blur.
her and her sister were sleeping on the little couch the nurses had set up and her brother was laying on the sleeping bag he had brought on the floor. it happened so suddenly. she woke up to her mom hysterically crying and weeping.
her brother and sister were frantic as nurses guided them three of them out of the room. but she does remember the last look she had at her dad.
he didn’t look real, more like a painting. or a sculpture maybe. his skin was practically white and his body was lifeless.
her whole family was in a depression, especially her mom. after losing her husband, she started drinking to numb the pain.
her grandparents left ohio and went back to korea completely unannounced. it was up to miya and austin to take care of themselves, each other, and of course olivia.
after a month of her fathers passing. the family had got a call from aggy’s mom informing them that aggy passed away july 25. so now she lost her dad and her best friend. along with that her mom isn’t stable enough to take care of her and her siblings, and her grandparents were m.i.a.
when she turned 12, that’s when her moms drinking got worse. she was living off of beer and tv dinners. she was also now mentally abusive toward her children.
austin became the child that started work. he would work late at night and then go to school all day. he was responsible for the families income at age 14.
miya was rarely ever home as well, but she was gone to escape their mom. she would rebel, hang out with her boyfriend, who ivy later found out was physically abusive.
then ivy was the kid that did the chores. she would also clean the neighbors houses to help pay her dance fees. the neighbors would always feel bad so they’d usually give her $30 for each chore she did. that was barely enough though.
and somehow, none of their friends ever noticed anything. except for austin’s, he’s always shut down plans to work and was overly tired all the time. but the friends did start noticing behavior changes
ivy became really depressed and spent most of her days just waiting for them to end.
the family got some income from the bank after the fathers passing. the kids were all in his will, earning $114k each. but they wouldn’t receive that until age 18.
around this time, ivy got into contact with her grandparent. begging day after day to move their and live out her dream of being an idol. her siblings would even call and beg the grandparents to let her, not wanting her to experience this life anymore.
after months of begging, her grandparents finally agreed to move her out to korea. she had already submitted audition videos to big companies like sm, jyp, yg, bighit etc.
she was 13 when she was officially moved into korea. she lived with her grandma and grandpa for a month before moving into the jyp dorms. she trained there for a year before being sent off to audition for produce 101.
during this time, she experienced great stress. her anxiety and depression led to suicidal thoughts and almost had to leave the show because of it. many fans who were supporting her throughout the show noticed her getting skinnier and skinnier by the episode.
somi, who became her best friend instantly, was also worried for her. ivy felt bad that she was worrying people. but she couldn’t help it, her mind controlled her. her thoughts were always telling her to do something. she would practice all the time and forget to eat.
somi would often watch after her to make sure she would at least eat a bagel and drink water everyday.
it wasn’t long before ivy would share her story, only parts of it publicly. her story reached american headlines, meaning her family and friends had seen it.
she was struggling for years. and it was only recently when she found inner happiness. she worked hard during produce, and didn’t win. and of course, she left jyp and moved to kq where she met her life long friends.
her boys have helped her so much, they were there to listen to her story, to hug her when she cried.
those are her boys, her family. her home.

Congratulations on almost 150 love! So I just recently watched Suburban Gothic and I fell in love. So I was linking maybe you do a Raymond X Reader? Raymond and reader get a case but Raymond doesn’t know Reader is pregnant ((they are married for about 2-3 years)). Raymond is confused as to way every ghost he encounters is over protecting his wife the reader, becuase I like to believe spirits can sense things like souls of babies and such. So when the evil spirit goes to harm Reader the spirits block and protect her. After they finish she finally admits she’s 1-2 months pregnant and wanted to surprise him. The baby will be born on Halloween and gets Raymond’s abilities. Maybe Reader and Raymond also get a black cat? If not Halloween then I was thinking maybe reader gives birth on Friday the 13th under a blue moon in October? Just a thought!

Warnings: mentions of spirits/hauntings, pregnancy and birth related topics
A/N: due to the timeline covered in the request I couldn’t fit it all in but would be willing to consider covering the rest in a part two if you’re interested and enjoy this one. I hope this is what you were looking for and that you enjoy it!
—————————————————————————
The first time it happened, Raymond thought nothing of it. It was a normal house call, and the family had been haunted for months. The house had a chill, but this was expected in February weather. Y/N had descended into the basement first, per their usual routine with Raymond following cautiously behind, peeking over her shoulder in a child-like fashion. That’s when it started. Lights flickered, their candles blew out by a mysterious draft, and just spooky business in general. They knew immediately there were dark spirits residing there. A dark tendrils of smoke emerged on the steps, creeping their way towards Y/N and wrapping around her legs. What they didn’t expect was the second presence that appeared. The smoky fingers quickly withdrew. They couldn’t see much, but they could hear the fight occurring around them. They waited on the basement steps until things calmed down, before a faint figure of a young woman appeared, shooting a quick wink to Y/N before disappearing back into the darkness of the basement. Raymond and Y/N shared a quick look of confusion before checking the basement and the rest of the home for stragglers and were surprised to find it now “ghost-free.
As they walked out hand in hand, Raymond commented “you know I can honestly say that was a first for me.”
“What? Having a ghost wink at you?”
“Oh no. I was quite the phantom’s man back in my single days. It was just my first time going into a dark, spooky basement without screaming like a little girl.”
The sincerity in his statement only made Y/N giggle harder. She loved her quirky, charming husband.
Raymond was lucky enough to have a family business, which meant he and Y/N always worked as a team. A few years into the marriage and they had really hit their stride. He would do a lot of the research on the location, past owners, local legends, etc. and whatever else he could find to figure out just what it was they’d be walking into. But Y/N, she was the “muscle” so to speak. She was much braver than he, and he loved her for it. They would take time to sit down with the owners together and do their best to determine just what was plaguing that home. Sure they’d find the occasional raccoon in the attic or something of the like, but surprisingly most of their calls were genuine. Together they ran a very successful and popular business.
——————————————————————————
The second time it happened was around the end of March. It was starting to warm up again, which mean Raymond was back in his rompers and boots, which Y/N loved. For some reason unbeknownst to him, she could not keep her hands to herself when he wore them. They had just begun to ascend the stairs of a very worn down home. Y/N kept teasing him, turning around to blow kisses or wiggle her hips a bit more than usual with each step. She got a little too distracted, tripping on a loose board and falling straight back. Before she could topple straight into him, she seemed to stop in midair, before slowly returning to an upright position.
“Was that- did they just catch you?”
She nodded, speechless.
They shared a look of surprise before continuing up to the attic. An hour or so later they had helped the spirit to find a lost heirloom it simply could not move on without.
That night in bed, Raymond simply couldn’t shut his mind off. Something was going on and it seemed to center around Y/N. He curled up tighter in his alien bed sheets, which he insisted on keeping despite a few eye rolls from the missus. Raymond turned on his side to find his wife also wide awake.
“Can’t sleep huh?” she asked, reaching out to stroke a thumb over his cheek.
He closed his eyes and hummed and the sweetness of her touch before opening his eyes again to meet her gaze.
“Yeah there’s just a lot on my mind lately. The ghosts have been- weird around us. Well, around you really. The kind ones never harm us but, they seem to be going out of their way to help you. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised though. You’re absolutely wonderful.”
He says the last statement so matter-of-factly there’s no doubt in her mind of his sincerity. She scoots closer until their noses are touching, as she continues to rub her hand across his face and through his hair.
“I was waiting for the right time to tell you” she whispers, a mysterious twinkle in her eye. She takes his hand and lays it gently over her belly, his long delicate fingers splayed over her skin.
“You’ve got a little one on the way.”
His brows knit in confusion. Surely she can’t mean…
“Raymond, you’re gonna be a daddy.”
His eyes grow big as his mouth opens, but no words come out. His face reads of pure adoration and joy, as he looks down, rubbing his fingers across what is soon to be her baby bump. When his eyes return to hers, they both share laughter of pure joy and disbelief.
“You’re sure? There’s really a baby in there?”
He stares at her belly with such awe. Y/N already knows he is so in love with their child. She couldn’t ask for a better father for her baby.
After much kissing and many giggles, Y/N rolls over as Raymond pulls her back against his chest, snuggling into her shoulder. He grabs her hand and places it back on her belly, before sliding his gently on top. They fall asleep together with sweet dreams of a future family.
———————————————————
Now that the secret is out things have gotten quite interesting. The spirits have been much more blunt with both of them. They were getting unsolicited but much appreciated advice from the most unexpected places.
An old woman haunting her granddaughter's house told them all the best foods and vitamins to help nourish the baby while still in the womb.
The spirit of a farmer’s wife told them all about the best birthing positions.
Spirit’s of two young ladies, sisters, helped teach them about the different options between breast feeding, pumps, and formula.
Several delightful young girls haunting a school have them lots of good ideas for names.
—————————————————————
They found out from the doctor that they’d be due in October, and the couple was absolutely ecstatic. A Halloween birthday for their first born. They couldn’t ask for a more perfect way to start their family.
Raymond began shopping accordingly as soon as he received the news. This included baby onesies which read: wicked cute, little pumpkin, and baby boo. Y/N just knew he’d go even more overboard with the newborn pictures.
“Look at this one though!”
“Raymond we have more baby clothes than they will ever be able to wear!”
He held up a little hat, knit look like a pumpkin, with a little green stem and leaves on top. As he held it up to his face, he gave his wife the saddest of puppy dog eyes.
“The hats pretty cute.” She leaned in and kissed his nose. “But you’re cuter. This is the last one though, Raymond. I mean it!”
It wasn’t.
—————————————————————-
Then one day it happened. They were helping with a haunting of a local business owner. Once again, the spirit was giving some input on what to expect, since they’re expecting.
“Oh and don’t worry, it shouldn’t take too long before you’re able to tell them apart.”
The wide eyed and confused glance shared between the couple told the haunt all it needed to know.
“Oh I’m sorry. I thought you knew… you’re having twins!”
After the initial shock and excitement wore off, Raymond turned to his wife with the biggest smirk.
“Looks like we’ll need more baby clothes after all.”

Movies I watched this week - 39
I spent over 50 (!) hours on the sofa this week, (enjoying myself 85% of the time)...
Sløborn, an ominous Danish-German TV pandemic series, very much like Soderbergh’s ‘Contagion’ and in ‘Black Mirror’ style. Normal life of a small island community between Denmark and Germany breaks down and completely collapses when it is hit by a lethal bird flue like virus.
It was extremely prescient, as it was shot in 2019, before Covid! Conceived as Si-fi, it looks today like TV, because the series was able to capture everything that happened around the world after January 2020 in accurate details.
With Roland Møller (of ‘Riders of Justice’). 7+/10
✴️
My introduction to “The grandmother of The French New Wave”, Agnès Varda (Hard to believe that I never saw her films before!):
✳️✳️✳️ “Inspiration, Creation and Sharing...” Varda by Agnès, my first Varda is her last 2019 auto-biography, in which, at 90, she shared footage and stories from her life and work. The first sample clip (of meeting her Uncle Yanco in Sausalito) won me over, and the rest convinced me to catch up on everything I’ve missed through the years. What a wonderful artist!
✳️✳️✳️ Cléo from 5 to 7. A feminine film about female identity - a new favorite! A beautiful singer must wait 2 hours for the results of her cancer tests. With a magnifique mid-film scene (at 0;38) of the heartbreaking chanson 'Sans Toi', marking the beginning of her quiet transformation.
✳️✳️✳️ Vagabond, a story of a lonely, young woman, an unapologetic drifter, unglamorous, aimless, independent, desperately lost. Dark and nonjudgmental exploration of the refusal to conform to anything. 8+/10.
✳️✳️✳️ (For Sammy - Per our conversation). The Gleaners and I, "The eighth best documentary film of all time”, per ‘Sight & Sound poll. Derived from the famous painting by Millet. Simply wonderful!
✳️✳️✳️ One Hundred And One Nights, 100 year old Michel Piccoli “Monsieur Simon Cinema”, hires a young girl to reminisce with about the history of cinema. An unsuccessful Meta-film that nevertheless is a love letter for cinephiles. Populated by 3 dozens of Who’s Who of French (and World) stars, playacting in this symbolic, Fellinisque fable that draws upon the classics. Mastroianni, Depardieu, Belmondo, Alain Delon, Catherine Deneuve, Jeanne Moreau, Anouk Aimée, Fanny Ardant, Gina Lollobrigida, Jane Birkin, etc, etc..
(Photo Above).
✳️✳️✳️ The Young Girls of Rochefort, the wonderful, colorful, sentimental musical by Varda’s husband Jacques Demy, with the most beautiful woman in the world and her sister. Romantic eye candy set to music by Michel Legrand. A year later Deneuve would do Belle de Jour, and Françoise Dorléac would die in a car accident, 8+/10
✳️✳️✳️ Even better, The Young Girls Turn 25, Varda’s 1993 behind the scenes documentary and return to small town Rocheford, to show how it changed the town and left an impression. 9/10
“...The memory of happiness is perhaps also happiness...”
✴️
The other Jacques Demy modern opera The Umbrellas of Cherbourg knocked me over all over again. Catherine Deneuve’s angelic beauty in this film made me cry for the duration like a baby. And not only at the train station when they say goodbye forever.
10/10
✴️
Night moves, a tense thriller by Kelly Reichardt, about three radical environmentalists who blow up an Oregon dam. Slow and tense, and like her ‘First Cow’, watching it filled me with constant, low-level anxiety. The off-screen sabotage is placed at the exact mid-point of the movie: The first half is the preparation for it, and the second half shows the aftermath of the act. 7+/10
✴️
2 unexpected Small Town gems by Miguel Arteta:
✳️✳️✳️ The good Girl, an odd and surprising mismatched romance between 30 year old Jennifer Aniston and Jake Gyllenhaal (22) as employees of a Texas big-box store that is always empty. Her voice-over reminded me of True Romance’s Alabama Whitman. 7/10
✳️✳️✳️ Ed Helms, a sheltered insurance salesman from the backwaters of Wisconsin, goes to an convention in the big city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The nearly conventional story arc has some genuinely heartfelt funny moments. With Maeby Fünke, as Bree the prostitute and Sigourney Weaver as the ex-teacher he balls. Also a surprising drug party, where he smoke crack cocaine and loves it. 5+/10
✴️
Same theme of people prostituting their own ‘morals’, the notoriously-prudish 1993 Indecent Proposal didn’t age too well. “Billionaire”-porn that asks the question ‘How much would you pay for one night with Robert Redford?’ Gratuitous semi-naked Demi Moore included.
Related: “Stop hitting the button!”
✴️
Wildland (Kød & blod = Flesh and blood), an uncomfortable and claustrophobic Danish gangster thriller about a 17 year old girl who moves in with the criminal family of Sidse Babett Knudsen, her estranged aunt. 6+/10
“For some people, things go wrong before they even begin”
✴️
Jim Jarmusch‘s Broken Flowers, a touching road film with Bill Murray, as an old ‘Don Juan’ who receive a pink, unsigned letter from an old lover, letting him know that he has a 20 year old son he never knew about.
Loveliest film of the week.
✴️
The 2 films directed by Tom Ford:
✳️✳️✳️ A single Man, a sad and lonely gay professor, closeted in 1962 Los Angeles, is preparing to kill himself with a gun, after his boyfriend / love of his life had died in a car accident. Mute and haunting aesthetics in the fashion designer’s debut film, based on a Christopher Isherwood novel.
The ‘Stormy Weather’ dance scene between Charley and George. 8/10
✳️✳️✳️ Nocturnal Animals: Amy Adams is an unhappy owner of a fancy art gallery who receives a disturbing book manuscript written by her ex-husband, which symbolizes their relationship 20 years prior. Rarefied visuals and distinctive style.
Starts with an astonishing scene of obese old ladies dancing naked at Amy’s gala event. Michael Shannon rules as a dying Texas detective! 6+/10.
✴️
Jean Vigo’s 1933 classic Zero for Conduct was so blatantly anarchistic, it was immediately banned in France until after WW2. In silent film style, it tells about a group of mischievous kids who rebel against the authorities of their old-fashioned boarding school. Part-inspiration for Truffaut's 400 Blows.
✴️
Anatomy of a murder, Otto Preminger’s 1960 courtroom drama, with opening credits by Saul Bass. Crisp black & white cinematography, and with rape victim Lee Remick playing it as an outgoing loose girl of ambiguous morals, a modern floozy. 7/10.
✴️
Blush, a wondrous, spectacularly-animated, wordless short by Joe Mateo. What starts as a riff on ‘The Little Prince’, ends up like the opening montage from ‘Up’. The obvious realization that this is a personal metaphor makes the story even deeper.
I watched it twice back to back. 10/10
✴️
If You're Not in the Obit, Eat Breakfast - 95 year old Carl Reiner asks a bunch of charming nonagenarian friends how they manage to live so well for so long. Their answers may (not) shock you...
Spry Dick Van Dyke (92) and half-his-age wife end the film with a lovely rendition of “Young at heart”
✴️
Hi-school-level adaptation of Thomas Piketty's book Capital in the 21st Century. A breezy discussion of how slave economy and colonialist military repression 300 years ago turn into extreme capitalism of inequality & tax-avoidance today. America is now similar economically to what England was in the early 1800s. A tiny percentage of society controls almost all its wealth. (Full text of the book here).
✴️
Ride the eagle, a flat new indie about a guy whose estranged hippy mother leaves him her cabin at the lake when she dies, but only if he complete a certain list of tasks. Could be so much better, but the actor playing the guy was just so terrible. Unlike JK Simmons who had a small role. Best detail, when he discovers that all the cabinets in the house are full with pot.
✴️
Old, my first, (and possibly last), M. Night Shyamalan. The seductive premise of a secluded beach at a fancy tropical resort that ages everybody who comes there, turns into an unconvincing Twilight Zone bore.
...”(Gurgling sounds)”...
✴️
First watch: I never saw (any) Planet of the apes before, and in spite of my misgivings, gave it a go. 100% anthropomorphic, it couldn’t visualize a universe different from the American mindset of that period. Preachy and very Rod Sterling-like. "It's a madhouse in here”. Pass!
✴️
The latest Veritasium YouTube video about bowling current technology. Always interesting.

Throw-back to the art project:
Planet of the Apes Adora.

okay so i came up with two scenarios in which jake and amy discover hamilton and i can't decide which one i like the best
scenario one, highschoolers jake and amy need to do a history project and Hamilton is the only way amy can convince him to do it
so they watch it and while they're vibing to my shot, the schuyler sisters, etc amy warns him that it's actually really sad and he'll probably end it up crying
and jake wants to seem though you know, cause they've been only dating for two months or so, so he's all like “what are you talking about? im not gonna cry
and he doesn't! at least not in satisfied or that would be enough. dear theodosia and the reprise of the story tonight were harder (laurens was one of his favorites!🥺) but he manages to keep it together. then everything goes very very wrong, and he has to really put an effort in keeping the tears from falling in burn. and finally, when he thought that the worst was behind him, blow us all away happened and he just gave up
becames a mess of tears and sobs and amy just hugs him laughing a little
"he was only nintheen!🥺"
"i know babe, i know "
scenario two, jake it's really aware of amys obsession with hamilton cause she's been asking to watch it together since they started dating
she sings the songs while cooking, randomly recites lyrics, and everytime he asks her "what time is it?" she can't help but smile and replie "show time!"
so one month after the wedding he finally agrees to watch it (remarking many times how against his will he is 🙄)
they watch it and of course amy knows every word and of course jake makes fun of that
a lot
but he ended up really liking it, actually.
but obviously he wasn't going say a word, cause his wife would not shut up about it so every time she listens to it in the car he just pretends to not know the words.
couple years latter, mac is born and one night when amy was too tired to get out of bed, and jakes already tried everything to put him to sleep he can't help but start to sing the words of dear theodosia to his son (his son! 🥺) and suddenly mac is not crying any more (and don't tell anyone, but jake is)
so mac keeps growing up and jake keeps the tradition without letting amy find out. but one afternoon, when mac it's already four or five years old amy is watching the musical on the tv with her son playing in the little table next to her, she gets to the part of dear theodosia and mac is like
"thats daddy's song!😾 why is that man singing daddy's song?"
"that it's what sweetie?"
"daddys song!" and he even sings a bit to show her and amy can't believe it "he sings it to me before night time"
"he does? 🥺"
“yeah, mommy...” he answers one more time before running to another part of the house “DADDY COME HERE SOME MAN IN THE TV ITS STEALING YOUR SONG”

Here is my full summary for the Boku No Hero Academia HEROES RISING movie! I originally posted it as a thread on Twitter, but here’s a more cohesive version for easy reading! Enjoy~
MOVIE SUMMARY
The movie starts off with Rock Lock, Endeavor, and another Pro-Hero in an epic car chase going after Spinner, Dabi, and Mr. Compress in a truck. They're transporting some important item somewhere, and there is a SICKASS fight between Endeavor and Dabi.
Endeavor uses his flamethrower and blasts it at Dabi, who scoffs at him but throws his blue fire at Endeavor. The blast from Endeavor is stronger though, and Dabi and co. give up as they turn to mud (via Twice's quirk). The truck then reels off the cliff.
Hawks is on the scene to check the damage of the truck. He wonders what exactly they were trying to deliver as the truck was heavily damaged by the fire. Later, we see Nine regroup with Slice, Mummy, and Chimera as he tells them they will soon leave.
After the opening scenes with the villains, we have a short recap of "society consists of 80% of the population with super powers" etc. etc. After the short narration, we immediately dive into scenes of the Class A members helping out on Nabu Island.
The first scene is two girls getting hit on by two guys, but Mineta helps save the girls by sticking the guys to the floor with his mogimogi balls. The girls see Ojiro and think that he's the one who saved him, but Ojiro blushes and says no it's not me!
Shoji is helping out at the beach as a lifesaver, and he spots a kid in trouble. Tsuyu dives into the water to help grab him, and then Satou rows the boat to save the boy. Tokoyami and Sero are also helping out at the beach.
Todoroki is helping the shaved ice stand make ice, and the shaved ice guy asks Todoroki to make more ice, and Todoroki creates a giant boulder of ice and says, "You can use this, right?" The shaved ice stand maker looks at him like wtf lol.
Next scene is Ashido, Ochako, Aoyama, Hagakure, Kaminari, and Deku sitting around in the Hero Agency headquarters on the island. Ashido is taking calls and dispatching Class A members to help out people around the island. They're all in hero costumes.
Bakugou and Kirishima are sitting in their own tatami room, and Bakugou is reading a magazine while lying down on the floor. Kirishima sits across from him. Ochako calls across the room and asks if anyone can help someone find a lost kid.
Kirishima offers to go, but Bakugou says to him in a light tone, "do you think your quirk would be effective to help pinpoint a lost boy?" and Kirishima looks at Bakugou like "Hmm actually..." Jirou volunteers instead and says her quirk would be helpful.
Deku narrates "so why exactly are we at the island? well..." There is a flashback to the Hero Committee saying that villains are getting stronger, and they need to train students to be prepared for anything. Aizawa tells Class A they need to do hero work.
Flash forward back to more montage of Class A members helping out with people around the island. Ashido and Aoyama are helping construction workers clear rubble, Kaminari is using his electricity to help power a farming tractor.
Kirishima is helping move cargo on a truck with the truck driver's wife and baby thanking him. He does his hardening pose and gestures "No problem!" but the hardening scares the baby, making the baby cry LOL.
Yaoyorozu helps repair a motorcycle. Deku, Ochako, and Jirou finding the "missing boy" at a playground. Deku approaches the boy but his sister comes to "save him" from the heroes. The kids then scurry away, leaving Deku, Ochako, & Jirou like wtf was that?
As the Class A members are helping around the island, All Might is back at U.A. and worries about whether they will be okay. Cut back to the kids at the island, and they're wearing their casual clothes now. They're super tired from the day's work.
The Class A members mention how this kind of hero work is still hard, even though they're not fighting anyone. However, the island citizens are thankful, and they bring a bunch of food for the kids to eat at the Hero Agency.
Bakugou and Kirishima are lounging in the tatami room together, and Bakugou mentions this kind of work is boring. Kirishima has his face on the table and looks at Bakugou like ;) as he says "Well, there's no villains here, so that's why."
Kaminari, Sero, Ojiro come and tell Kirishima to join them at the onsen bath and says that Bakugou can't go because he has to patrol the grounds since he didn't do any hero work all day long. Bakugou complains, but the guys leave him be.
As Bakugou is patrolling, Deku is outside training his quirk, and he thinks about OFA and how he can train himself to be able to use this power that All Might has given him. There is a brief scene where they show all the predecessors and silhouettes.
One of the silhouettes looks basically like Bakugou with burning red eyes, surrounded by a red aura. The other silhouette is drawn surrounded by a purple aura with their hair blowing in the wind. It is this exact scene from the manga, but clearer.
Tumblr media
As Deku is training, Bakugou sees him and asks him if he's made that quirk his own yet. Deku says he's getting there, and Bakugou says, "You think you can surpass ME even with that quirk perfected? Just try."
Suddenly, Katsuma comes hurriedly to Deku and says that a villain has appeared. Deku is about to help but Bakugou pushes him aside and grabs the kid, telling him to take him to where the villain is.
The next scene shows Hawks in a committee meeting. The Hero Committee mentions that the League of Villains managed to get a hold of perhaps the quirk nullifying bullet as there have been cases of people getting their quirks stolen.
They ask Hawks if he had heard anything about this, but Hawks said that he doesn't think that these incidents are from the quirk bullet. He thinks it's something else.
Next scene is Toga, Dabi, Mr. Compress, Spinner, and Shigaraki chilling at a rundown shack in the middle of nowhere. They complain to Shigaraki asking him what they're supposed to do. Shigaraki said that the Doctor has something for him.
Cut to Katsuma & Maholo's Dad on a business trip in Kyushu. He suddenly gets attacked by Nine, and Nine takes his quirk. The dad has a cell regeneration quirk. Nine suffers from some kind of ailment that causes his body to freeze up. He needs this quirk.
When Nine takes the Dad's quirk, he uses it to power up and calls lightning down to destroy parts of the city. He then freezes up as he realizes that the Dad's quirk cell regeneration isn't compatible with him. He then sees a video recording of the kids.
Nine then decides to aim for the kids as one of them must have a quirk that is similar to the Dad that might be compatible with his body. Nine is Blood Type B, so he needs someone that can help him regenerate his cells with the correct blood type.
We go back to Bakugou carrying Katsuma and asking him where the damn villain is. They then see a gigantic monster size Praying Mantis wrecking havoc on the side of the hill. Bakugou blasts off to fight the monster but then suddenly stops.
He realizes that the monster is a hologram, and Maholo's quirk is creating holograms of anything she wants. He could tell that the monster was fake because there was no shadow beneath the monster.
Bakugou is furious as he shouts to the girl if she's trying to make fun of him? He tells her that he's aiming to be Number 1 and doesn't need stupid kids to play pranks on him.
As he lunges at the girl, Deku holds him back, and Bakugou gets angry and wrestles Deku on the floor as Katsuma and Maholo scurry off.
The kids end up in a sugar cane field as they look at the stars. Maholo complains that she hates heroes because they're all talk. Katsuma says that they're good heroes though, but Maholo said that the best hero in her heart is their father.
Next scene is back in Kyushu where Hawks is looking at the damage to the city that was caused by Nine earlier that day. He wonders what exactly is going on.
Next day at the island, Ashido gets a call from an island citizen to help out. She dispatches Hagakure and Aoyama, and she tells Mineta that the girl sounded really cute on the phone. Mineta then says he's down to go help too.
Deku wants to go too, but as he leaves the Hero Agency building, he sees Katsuma approach him. Katsuma comes to apologize for the problems they made for him and Bakugou the previous day.
Bakugou also listens to Katsuma's apology as he is outside standing on the veranda and eating a popsicle. He listens to Katsuma explain that he wanted to prove to his sister that Heroes were good people who do come to the rescue when people are in need.
Deku tells Katsuma that it's no problem as his own goal is to become a great hero who can help save people. Bakugou listens carefully to their conversation, and Deku notes that Katsuma has an Edgeshot pin on his bag. He asks Katsuma if he likes heroes.
Katsuma says that he really admires Heroes, but Maholo just worries about him. Deku has a flashback of when his mom told him that she was always so worried about him because heroes put themselves in danger all the time.
Deku asks Katsuma, "What kind of hero do you want to be, Katsuma?" He then explains why he himself wants to be a hero. Bakugou stands at the veranda and listens the whole time, and when they're done talking, Bakugou realizes his ice cream melted away.
The neighbor sees Katsuma leave Deku & comes to him to explain that Katsuma and Maholo live alone with their father on the island. Their mother passed away when they were very young, and Maholo is very protective of her brother since Dad's always working
Suddenly, at the harbor, a boat rams into the pier at full speed. The boat topples over, and Nine, Chimera, Mummy, and Slice emerge on the top of the boat. Nine instructs them to do whatever they need to do in order to find the two kids.
Maholo and Katsuma are returning to their house when Nine appears out of nowhere and literally OBLITERATES their house by striking lightning out of thin air to destroy the home. Maholo then tries to call the Hero Agency to ask for help.
As she calls the Hero Agency, the phone line gets cut off. The Class A members then check their phones and sees that even their cellphone reception is down. We then see that Chimera destroyed the island's telephone and communication tower.
At the harbor, Mineta, Hagakure, and Aoyama just finished helping a couple out with a missing bag. Mineta scoffs to the side saying that Ashido tricked him into coming because the girl was actually taken. Suddenly, they see villains coming up the road.
The villain Mummy uses his bindings and turns anything, even inanimate objects into moving zombies. Aoyama uses his beam to blast away at Mummy's weird zombies, but he just keeps making more.
At the beach, Tsuyu is trying to evacuate all the beach goers as Chimera approaches dauntingly. Ojiro takes the initiative and attacks chimera. He tells Tokoyami to go back to the Hero Agency to ask for help since everyone's cellphones aren't working.
Tokoyami makes it back to the Hero Agency, and he says villains are near the harbor and beach. They need back-up. Iida dispatches everyone. Teams are
Bakugou, Kirishima, & Kaminari
Yaoyorozu, Jirou, & Ashido
Koda & Ochako
Iida, Todoroki, Sero, & Tokoyami
Aoyama is at his limit as he continues to fight Mummy, but thankfully, Bakugou blasts an explosion aimed towards Mummy to throw him off. Behind Bakugou, Kirishima comes rushing in and says "RED RIOT IS HERE!" Kaminari releases electricity too.
Ashido comes to Aoyama's aid and helps him up. She, Jirou, and Yaoyorozu bring the others to safety as well as direct the citizens to the safehold.
Mummy continues to attack Bakugou, Kirishima, and Kaminari. Mummy finds an opening and tries to hit Bakugou, but Kirishima jumps in front of him and deflects the attack but gets caught himself. Bakugou then gets bounded, and Kirishima yells "Bakugou!"
Ojiro continues to fight Chimera at the beach and pulls some pretty cool moves on him. Good thing back up comes from Todoroki rushing in with Iida as well as Tokoyami having Dark Shadow drop him and Satou onto Chimera.
As Satou drops in and tries using his Sugar Rush attack move on Chimera, there is a BEAUTIFUL shot of him and Chimera fist to fist fighting against the sunset mid-air. It was such a dynamic shot. Totally not necessary but beautiful to see lol.
Back at Katsuma and Maholo's destroyed house (I realized that Nine destroys the house after, not before the beach fights). Nine can glance at a person and know what their stats, and he figures out that Katsuma is the one with the cell regeneration quirk.
Nine tells Katsuma and Maholo that he will not kill them, but that they should follow him because he needs something from them. Deku then comes to the rescue though and rushes them through the forest.
Nine then slowly walks to Deku and says, "get out of the way. If you're in my way, I will kill you." Deku then uses full cowl, but Nine is able to block him with a barrier. Nine also shoots energy from his fingers, and Deku thinks that he's like AFO.
Back at the battle with Mummy, Bakugou is completely controlled by Mummy, but he is trying to resist. Mummy is making Bakugou attack Kirishima and Kaminari against his will, and Kirishima tries to desperately call out to Bakugou.
Mummy then wraps both Kirishima and Kaminari, and Kaminari says, "Kirishima, what should we do!?" Mummy then says to them that they either surrender or watch as Bakugou kills them. As he says this, Bakugou's red eye shines, and he creates a huge explosion.
Bakugou is able to blast away the bindings and he completely OBLITERATES Mummy as he pins him against a wall and maniacally uses an explosion that is directed right at Mummy's face. Mummy passes out, and afterwards, they regroup with the others.
Kirishima and Kaminari stay with the rest, but Bakugou blasts off. Jirou asks where he's going, and Bakugou says he needs to fight the other villains on the island.
Next scene is Chimera fighting Todoroki, but Chimera is just too strong. Sero uses his tape to wrap around Todoroki as he saves him from Chimera's blow. Chimera can also breathe fire, and the guys find themselves outmatched by him.
Deku continues to fight Nine and uses Delaware Smash, but Nine uses a barrier to deflect his attack. Deku wonders to himself just how many quirks does Nine even have!? He then tries to use One For All 20% Full Cowl. Nine muses that Deku has a great power.
Nine then grabs Deku's head and tries to steal the quirk from him. Deku then thinks to himself that if Nine can steal quirks, that's exactly like AFO. Suddenly, an image of the OFA vestiges appears including the silhouettes. They appear in line like this:
Tumblr media
The OFA users prevent OFA from being stolen. Deku then realizes that the kids are still here, even though he told them to run -_-;; Nine then shoots Deku with his quirk and heavily injures him. The kids are too scared to move.
As Nine approaches Deku, who's badly injured, he's about to deliver a finishing blow but Bakugou flies in to save Deku. Bakugou attacks Nine, and Deku says "Kacchan! Watch out this guy has more than one quirk and can steal quirks!"
Bakugou then says that he just has to keep fighting him then, right? However, Nine pulls out another quirk that looks like Blue Eyes White Dragon (no joke) that pins down Bakugou. Deku tells himself to try to move as Bakugou blasts an explosion to him.
Deku wills himself to move and they try to fight him, but Nine is too powerful. He pins both of them to the ground and tries to go after the kids, but Deku and Bakugou each hold one of Nine's legs to stop him.
Nine gets super annoyed at them and calls forth a HUGE blast of lightning that zaps Deku and Bakugou completely unconscious. However, since he used his quirk too much, his body freezes up, and he falls to the ground. Slice comes to help him.
Nine tells Slice to get the kids, but as she tries to approach them, Koda calls forth a huge flock of crows to block her path. Shouji then rushes in and carries the kids off while Ochako taps Deku and Bakugou, & Tsuyu carries them together with her tongue.
The kids all escape and meanwhile, Chimera also retreats from where Todoroki, Sero, and co. were fighting him at the beach. The Class A members regroup at a shelter where the rest of the island citizens are currently staying at due to the villain attack.
It's raining, and Nine is sleeping on a bed somewhere on the island, trying to recover as Slice watches over him. Chimera comes into the room and asks where's Mummy, and they realize that Mummy was captured.
There is a flashback to when Nine was without his artifical quirks. He had a very weak body, but he wanted to get stronger and saved Chimera even though everyone hated Chimera due to his appearance.
Chimera says that he is thankful that Nine saved him that day. Also, side note, Nine looked super hot when he was younger and without a mask lol.
Flashback continues to when Nine gets experimented on by Dr. Ujiko. He tells him that he can steal up to nine quirks. Flash forward and Nine wakes up and says that he has to get the cell regeneration quirk that Katsuma has to help his body.
Ochako goes into the room where other civilians are being healed by people with healing quirks. She asks how is Deku and Bakugou doing. They're both completely unconscious as the healers try to help, but they're not doctors so their efforts aren't working.
Katsuma then comes into the room and says that he can help heal Deku and Bakugou. He explains that his quirk speeds up cell regeneration and can also boost one's power. He tries his hardest to heal Deku and Bakugou, to the point where he almost passes out.
The rest of Class A are resting in a break room in the shelter and are trying to figure out what to do with the villains. Deku enters the room with Katsuma, and Ochako says "Deku!" surprised he's completely healed.
Katsuma then tells everyone that the villains are after him, so he can just give himself up to save everyone the trouble of being attacked. However, Deku says that he will never let that happen as he will protect Katsuma and the rest of the citizens.
Bakugou then walks into the room slowly, and Kirishima looks up and says "Bakugou!" while looking relieved. Bakugou heard Deku's words of wanting to protect the citizens. He glances at Deku as they both recall All Might's words "win & save, save & win."
Bakugou then does this pose and says that what they gotta do is just fight these damn villains. Everyone else agrees, and Yaoyorozu & Iida lead the others in a PLUS ULTRA! cheer. Deku then devises a plan on how to capture the villains.
The plan is to lure the villains to the furthest corner of the island where ancient castle ruins are. Koda, Satou, and Hagakure will lead the island's citizens and livestock into a cave to hide. Meanwhile, the rest of the Class A will fight the villains.
(Just random commentary, but can I just mention how hilarious it is to ask the INVISIBLE GIRL to lead the citizens into a dark cave? Like, WHAT IS LOGIC???")
The Class A members then prepare for a large battle as the sun rises. This is the epic scene here where they stand together.
As according to plan, the villains approach exactly down the path that Deku predicted. Shouji is the one in charge of guarding the children while Jirou and Ojiro are nearby as the lookout. Each Class A member is stationed in different locations.
The first attack is by Yaoyorozu and Aoyama. Yaoyorozu pulls out her twin cannons, and Aoyama uses a super powerful navel beam that holds off the villains for a while. The blast is so strong that it causes the ground beneath the villains to break.
Slice then falls down into a cave below, but Chimera and Nine are able to evade the attack and go separate ways. Ochako, Sero, and Mineta work together to barrage Nine with thousands of falling rocks. This action combination looked really cool.
Meanwhile, Slice finds herself in a cave where Tokoyami and Ashido battle her together. Chimera is at another area where he's near a waterfall. As he steps into the water to cross the river, Todoroki turns the entire waterfall and river into ice.
Tsuyu captures Chimera with her tongue and pulls him further into the river where Todoroki tries freezing him. Iida, Todoroki, Kirishima, and Tsuyu then ready themselves as Chimera struggles to get out of his icy bonds.
Nine keeps attacking Sero and Ochako, and they try over and over to stop him with the barrage of rocks flung at him. Ochako is overusing her quirk, and Sero grabs her before she falls down and uses his tape to swing to higher ground.
Ochako then goes to a huge wall of thousands of rocks and uses her Zero Gravity on all of them. She falls to the ground, exhausted, but tries to still fight. Yaoyorozu and Aoyama also fight Nine as they throw attacks at him.
Deku and Bakugou then join Aoyama, Yaoyorozu, Sero, Mineta, and Ochako in the fight against Nine. Bakugou is in the air as Deku jumps high up and grabs his hand while Bakugou spins Deku, and the momentum helps them deal a super cool combo move together.
Meanwhile in the cave, Slice continues to fight Tokoyami, but suddenly she feels the cave stalactites falling as she realizes Ashido is using her acid to loosen the spikes on the ceiling. Ashido then unleashes a bunch of acid and burns off Slice's hair.
With her hair now short, Slice is still able to use them as small spears that she unleashes at Ashido all at once. Ashido is able to evade most of them, but three spears stab her thigh and causes her to fall down side of the cave.
Tokoyami yells, "ASHIDO!" as she plummets to the bottom of the cave. He approaches her and sees that she's very badly injured and bleeding, and his eyes go crazy as he loses it and Dark Shadow explodes out of him. He turns to Slice and says, "YOU BASTARD!"
Deku and Bakugou continue to fight Nine, and Nine keeps using his various quirks to hold them off. The scene then cuts to Iida fighting Chimera. He kicks Chimera, then Kirishima follows up with Red Gauntlet. Their attacks look weak, and Chimera laughs.
However suddenly, Chimera freezes up and Todoroki slowly approaches him as he explains that Kirishima and Iida were only distracting Chimera as they put Tsuyu's poison on his body, effectively stopping his body from moving.
Chimera says not to underestimate him, and he evolves into a crazy animal fusion. Kirishima says, "Woah what is he, Amajiki-senpai!?" Chimera then blasts energy all around him from his mouth, and Tsuyu uses her tongue to wrap around Kirishima to save him.
Iida then grabs Todoroki to push him out of the way from Chimera's energy beam. We then cut to a scene of Shouji protecting the kids as Nine continues to fight Deku and Bakugou but effectively advances towards the kids. Nine destroys Bakugou's gauntlet.
Sero tries to help and attack Nine, but Nine easily throws him aside. Bakugou shouts, "SERO!!" as he falls to the ground. Nine then throws Ochako into the air as well, and Deku quickly rushes into the air and catches her, holding her in his arms.
As he holds Ochako, she murmurs まだ....だ... "not yet...I can still do more..." but then passes out. Deku then lays her gently on the ground. Nine then approaches Deku and Bakugou but freezes up as his cells have some issue when he overuses his quirk.
Todoroki then devises a plan to fight Chimera. He tells everyone of the plan, and Iida springs to action, trying to distract Chimera. Todoroki then holds Kirishima by the waist as he speeds them forward towards Chimera while sliding on his ice.
As Todoroki wraps his arms around Kirishima, Kirishima says, "Heh, this kind of reminds me of Kamino." Then Todoroki tells Kirishima to harden, and Kirishima uses Unbreakable. Chimera blasts Kirishima with his energy beam, and this scene is SICKKKK!!!!!
While holding Kirishima in front of him as a shield, Todoroki tries to push forward as Kirishima withstands Chimera's energy beam. However, his energy beam causes Kirishima's sleeves to rip, but Chimera finally exhausts his beam and needs to recharge.
As Chimera pauses for a moment, Kirishima falls to the ground, but Todoroki then gets close enough to lunge himself on top of Chimera as he sticks his hand down his throat and gruesomely freezes Chimera's entire body inside out with ice.
Todoroki then also passes out and his thoughts before he loses consciousness is "Midoriya...Bakugou...it's up to you guys now." Chimera, along with Todoroki, Kirishima, Tsuyu, and Iida, are all defeated.
Shouji continues to protect the kids even though nine is advancing towards them still. Meanwhile, Hawks visits the children's father in the hospital. The Dad explains to him that his son has the similar quirk to him.
The difference between Katsuma's cell regeneration quirk and his Dad's quirk is that his Dad's quirk can only help people with Blood Type A. However, Katsuma's quirk can help other blood types too. Hawks then realizes that the villains are at the island.
Hawks calls the other Pro-Heroes and tells them that they need to head to Nabu Island right away as the people there are all in danger, including Class A. He flies to the island first.
Note that it takes around 1 hour for a jet plane to fly from Kyushu to Okinawa (where this Nabu Island is supposedly located), so Hawks flying there is quite a feat lol.
Ojiro and Jirou tell Shouji to project the kids as they go forth and fight Nine. However, Nine is weakened by the constant attacks from Deku, Bakugou, and the earlier ones from the other Class A members.
Shouji holds the kids close to him as he blocks them from Nine's attacks. He takes on all of Nine's attacks and is heavily injured, and he tells the kids to run away.
However, Nine is able to catch Maholo before they can escape, and he tells Katsuma "If you value your sister's life, then come with me." Katsuma is about to give himself up but Deku comes to the rescue and uses SMASH against Nine.
Nine tosses Maholo to the side, but Bakugou is able to capture her before she falls the ground. Bakugou then tells her, "See I told you, I'm going to be the Number 1 Hero. That's why I'm strong!" He puts her down, and proceeds to fight Nine along with Deku.
Deku and Bakugou look like they are getting the upper hand as they throw explosion after smash attacks at Nine. However, Nine uses the purple fluid he carries on his back and makes himself super powered and indestructible. He then creates fire pillars.
He brings down lightning from the sky, and Deku tries using OFA 100% against him. Deku uses a Detroit Smash and Bakugou uses Howitzer Impact against Nine. They hold their attacks as long as they can, and this causes their costumes to get tattered.
Shouji, even in his beaten state, still manages to hold onto the kids to protect them. Bakugou and Deku then look up at Nine as their attacks were rendered useless against him.
Nine then goes onto a short cliche villain monologue about wanting to create a perfect society where only those with powerful quirks live in and those who are weak are eliminated. Deku and Bakugou look at him in disbelief.
Nine uses his blue eyes white dragon move and captures both Deku and Bakugou in its grasp. All hope looks like it's lost, but Maholo and Katsuma cry out to them saying, "Big Brother Deku! Bakugou!!! Don't give up!!!!!!"
Deku then tells Bakugou that in order to continue this fight, there's only one thing they can do. Bakugou makes this face as he hears Deku say this as he knows that in order to fight, he needs to have One For All. He looks regretful with this decision.
Deku and Bakugou both recall All Might's words to them about being heroes who can save and win, win and save. Deku reaches his bloody finger out to Bakugou, and Bakugou extends his finger as well. They miss at first, but they finally make contact.
They touch fingers for a few seconds as OFA is transferred into Bakugou, then they grasp hands firmly like this stock image. The OFA transfer is now complete as Deku wills it to be.
Bakugou asks Deku if he is even still capable of using OFA, and Deku explains that during All Might's fight against All For One, he still was able to use OFA as he was holding onto the flickering embers of the quirk.
Bakugou asks Deku if this is okay, and Deku says it's the only way. They then power themselves up using OFA, and they legit look like Goku and Vegeta as Super Saiyan, even with their hair standing up like this. Bakugou has orange energy, Deku with green.
Might+ U starts playing in this scene where Deku and Bakugou throw punch and explosion one after another at Nine. There is no sound effects or speech during this entire montage as the only music playing is Might+u.
The visuals of this scene are INSANE. Like holy shit the SAKUGA!!!!!! IS OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!! There was this one scene where Super Saiyan Bakugou walks into the side of a mountain and completely melts the ENTIRE MOUNTAIN and throws it at Nine.
As they attack Nine, there is a flashback of when they are children, and Bakugou stands in front of a T.V. and says wow how cool is All Might?? There is also a flashback of Deku as a kid crying in front of his computer screen saying to his Mom AM is so cool
Both of them admire All Might, and the final few attacks are Deku and Bakugou perfectly mirroring each other, doing attacks in sync. They then prepare their finishing blow and do DETROIT SMASH into the air, clearing away the powerful storm to blue skies.
But wait! That wasn't the last move! The fight actually continues in silence with Might+u still playing in the background. Deku has a line over the montage that says "This, this is what One For All is capable of."
Bakugou prepares his final explosion and Deku prepares a finishing kick to Nine, and as they unleash their powerful attacks, Deku says "Thank you and goodbye, One For All" as he passes out, which is this scene in the trailer.
Before passing out and during the part where Deku recalls what One For All means, what One For All is capable of, there is a montage of all of Class A passed out from their own respective fights.
I missed a scene with Tokoyami and Ashido. As Dark Shadow goes crazy, he captures Slice but also causes the cave to fall down on them. Tokoyami shields Ashido with his body, and after Deku & Bakugou's fight, we see Hawks pulling Tokoyami from the rubble.
Hawks asks Tokoyami if he's alive, and Tokoyami says, "Hawks, why are you here??" Hawks then says that he's not the only one who's here as help has arrived.
We then see All Might kneeling next to Deku & Bakugou, who are lying on the ground passed out. All Might cradles Deku in his arms and says he did well. Deku asks if Bakugou is okay. All Might says "Always putting others in front of yourself, yes he's fine."
Deku then starts crying as he apologizes to All Might as he gave away such a great power entrusted with him by All Might. This is the scene where he says "I'm sorry, All Might. I'm sorry..."
All Might says Deku is brave and deserving of OFA, and then miraculously, Deku's body glows with the power of OFA coursing through his veins once more. All Might says it's a miracle, but perhaps the Predecessors willed it for Deku to hold this power.
All Might then thanks his master Nana as well as the predecessors for returning OFA back to Deku. He then holds Deku hand with one hand and in the other, holds Bakugou's hand as he cries.
The ending scene shows everyone being helped out by the Pro-Heroes. I originally thought that the scene took place in an infirmary, but it was actually on site where everyone was passed out.
Although the scene is also silent, we see Endeavor hugging Todoroki tightly as he cries comedically while he says "SHOUTOOOO!!!!!!" there is also a scene of Kaminari and Sero doing a fist bump as they are being held up by the pro-heroes.
Ashido is being helped out on a stretcher, Tokoyami watches over her closely as she smiles at him, Ryukyu helps Tsuyu and Ochako, and the other students are escorted by the pro-heroes.
Hawks watches as Chimera and Slice are put into custody. He then wonders what Shigaraki has planned. We then see Nine was blasted away to an island surrounded by flowers. Shigaraki appears in front of him, and Nine says he needs more time.
Nine reaches out saying that he hasn't perfected the society yet, and there needs to be someone who can guide everyone. Shigaraki puts his hand on Nine's face and says, "Yes, someone. That someone is me. Good work and goodnight Nine." He disintegrates him.
The next scene is Bakugou waking up in the infirmary next to Recovery Girl. Deku narrates that Bakugou for some reason had no recollection of ever using OFA (how convenient lol), and Bakugou complains that his arms hurt like hell.
Katsuma accidentally sees Recovery Girl kissing Bakugou, and she blushes in embarrassment LOL. Deku tells Katsuma that he will be a great hero. The kids then are reunited with their father and are very happy to see him.
Class A board the boat as they are ready to go home, and Bakugou is at the top of the stern. He sees Deku and asks him if it's okay to leave without saying bye to the kids. Deku says it's fine. However, they then see the kids running to the pier.
The kids wave to Class A and say "Big Brother Deku, Bakugou, Everyone!!! Thank you so much!!" and Class A waves back at them. Katsuma then waves to Deku and says "Big Brother Deku! I'll be a hero just like you!" and Deku says U.A. is waiting for him!
Deku then waves back at Katsuma and Maholo and Bakugou puts his hand up and sort of waves. The last scene is Katsuma's smiling face as he looks on with hope, inspired by the heroes who helped change his life.
THE END!!!!!!

How you met: Shay x Death Doula! Reader
Info on the reader's profession: A Death Doula is a person who assists in the dying process, unlike a regular doula who offer assistance for women in labor, Death Doula's deal with well... death! But they don't deal exclusively with just children, they were like an early version of grief counselors mixed with hospice nurse and funeral director all rolled into one package, their service list would include: Giving emotional, social and Psychological support, creating death plans, helping with funeral and memorial planning, and guiding mourners to their rights and responsibilities.
===================================
Shay was assigned by Haytham to investigate the rumor that a previous dead member was apparently alive and well. They were dismissed as just so... until, Thomas Hickey appeared before the grand master claiming to have seen the man, a one Robert Bancroft a former banker and tradesman wandering the New York market district, now that wouldn't be strange except Robert had dead for three months now! And what's more, apparently the late Mr. Bancroft has also gone on to calling himself Philip McCray not much info on that name though.
Haytham sent Shay to figure out this mystery, To start him off the grand master directed the former assassin to the home of an Undertaker: Father's name [l/n] seems there been a disturbance at his place of business that might just give them a lead to this mystery.
Shay was wary at approaching the large manor-like funeral home he heard whispers and accusations of the undertaker being a demon butcher who cut up bodies and ate their livers, others that he'd chop the limbs off and sew them to other bodies and used dark arts on them. Though Mr. Franklin who was an old friend of Mr. L/n assured Shay that those rumors were hogwash; what the experiments undertaker does with the deceased was simply a misunderstood science that will one day change the way everyone looks at life and death.
That didn't do much to calm the Irishman's nerves as the smell of Incense invaded his nose the closer he got closer the the mortuary, Shy paused for a moment to admire the birdcage shaped censers hanging by the door he thought them they were lanterns, but duty calls Shay walked inside where smell of lavender potpourri lingered in the air and the sound of arguing invaded his ears Shay followed where the voices were coming from and found himself in a large sitting room, where a y/ht y/hc woman in a black and purple dress around his age was arguing with older man.
"Well someone has to do something about this, The man's wife thinks we're hiding him!"
"I said no! No interrogations, no investigations, no bloody mystery solving! This will blow over soon."
"Yes and meantime Mr.Cray's wife is telling everyone under the sun, about how I'm some husband stealing harlot, While at the same time some ne'er-do-well going around pretending to the man!"
"The woman is grieving Y/n, you've been trained to recognize such delusions, she saw him die, their friend saw him die and...and..."
The man's voice trailed off finally noticing Shay watching them, he straightened himself up and cleared his throat, while the woman whip her head around to see what got his attention."Oh, a customer, Y/n go make some tea for... um" The Templar held his hand out. "Shay Cormac, and that won't be necessary... I'm here regarding a break-in three months ago?" the undertaker looked uncomfortable as he look at Y/n who this knowing smirk on her face.
“Yes we.. Well my daughter's office was broken into..." He led Shay to back of the manor to Y/n's office now that the Irishman could get a good look at her noting some resemblance between her and the undertaker they both had the same eye/hair color, they got to the office as Y/n spoke up as the assassin hunter looked around.
Soon Mr. L/n left and Y/n took over "Thieves weren't after any trinkets or valuables." She directed him to a large row of cabinets with a broken locks, "they were only after papers & records of the recently deceased, and was very careful at who he was selecting." She showed him an old file with details of that person's life. {Identification papers, birthplace place and cause of death etc.] and sketches of the deceased persons face she explained they used them for an "in case" scenario of multiple funerals in one day and if the families have the same or similar sounding names.
"Here's the man whose papers were stolen" she said handing the Templar the sketch he took out a small painting of Bancroft and compared the two "This is very well done." Shay commented taking in the sketch's detail right down to the scars and birthmarks. "Uh, thank you?" Y/n said incredulously not used to hearing her work be complimented especially from a man, Shay wasn't joking when he said it was good this McCray could be Bancroft's twin, Except...
Shay checked the death record McCray had black hair, Bancroft was blond, his first thought was a wig but the way Hickey had described the bloke his hair looked too natural to be a wig, nor did it look like soot and grease as Lee had suggested, was he using ink? his dark eyes glance over at a Y/n  looking out the window shaking her head at something.
"Is there way darken one's hair color, without wigs or ink?" the assassin hunter asked not being familiar with cosmetics, Y/n cocked a brow as she thought. "Yes through henna and katam." Shay gave her a confused look Y/n sighed and took off her gloves and pulled up her sleeve to reveal a very impressive tattoo on her hand.
Shay took her hand her to get a better look, if it wasn't fading he'd almost mistaken another glove, the lotus design was delicate the way the ink ringed around her fingers like lace was almost fairy-like. "This is mehndi art made with henna it's a type of dye made from tree dyes from India, it can also be used to change hair color...if mix with the right components." She explained the as the Irish man flipped her hand over to stare at the moon design on her wrist.
"How long does this usually last for?" He asked giving her hand back. "Well depending on type and quality three weeks? applying oils is a good way to extend it." Y/n stated as she put her gloves back on. *who'd thought that wedding tribute for my friend in India would come in handy?* She thought not noticing Shay's attention suddenly shifted to the window, in a split second the large man suddenly yanked Y/n towards him using his body to shield her from her window exploding; glass shards flew everywhere as rocks were thrown through the window!
Followed by a woman screaming "PHILIP KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!?" then there was some struggling Shay pulled away from Y/n the two went the window to see what happened, the Irishman kept her behind him just in case. as they watched a hysterical woman throwing rocks at the funeral home, as a man and two women and adolescent boy struggled to control her.
"PHILIP COME OUT!" The man finally got a hold of her. "Stop this right now Sarah, Philip is dead!" the Sarah shook her head not believing him as the women pleaded with her to listen to her brother, she gasped seeing Y/n and Shay watching her "GIVE HIM BACK YOU WHORE!?!?" Sarah screeched ready to throw a another rock as her brother dragged her away.
the boy walked over over to the shattered window. "I...I'm sorry for my mother Miss Y/n, My aunt says they'll pay for the window..." The y/hc woman the boy off. "Don't worry about it I know it's not your mother's fault." She assured as they watched his aunts and uncle load his mother into a carriage. the boy then looked around making sure his mother couldn't hear.
"Is it true?"
"Absolutely not, I'm not hiding your father..."
"No, not that I know fathers gone, I meant...I heard things about you being able to speak to the dead, solving murders?"
"I don't speak to dead, I speak for the dead and I swear on your father's resting soul, I will find out whose behind this and bring peace to your mother."
The boy thanked her and went to join his family, Y/n winced hears Mrs. McCray scream at the top of her lungs "I WON'T LET YOU HAVE MY BOY!?" before being restrained by her sisters-in law as her brother shook his head clearly at loss and tired of his sister fits, as they rode away...
"Speak for the dead, eh?" Shay queried sounding amused and intrigued as Y/n averted her eyes embarrassed /face red from embarrassment as she thought he'd gone to find her father once Mrs. McCray was whisked away, "Well being a death doula, that is what I do in a way..." they were suddenly interrupted by her father entering the study, wooden planks under one arm hammer and nails in the other "Except most death doulas don't go on path of Derring-do just because they think someones a killer." Y/n looked offended at her father's words.
"Well I wasn't wrong before!" she huffed agitating her father more. "Stay out of it." he warned boarding her window up, he then turned to their visitor. "And you've got your evidence Cormac, Now I suggest you take you leave." Shay bid the last name's farewell, but before he reached the door he was stopped by Y/n grabbing his arm "Mr. Cormac, when you find this man." She made her father wasn't listening; he'd blow a gasket if he found out she was meddling.
"If possible I would like you to return him here," Shay's brows furrowed at this request, "Here, why?" he asked confused over why she would want the thief whose caused her so much disarray in her house. "I think it might help if Mrs. McCray saw "Philip" for herself." Irishman nodded seemly understanding what the y/nat woman was planning. "I'll see if can keep him in one piece." He noted Y/n hadn't let go of his arm. "Is there something else you wanted" The y/ht woman fidgeted for a moment.
"Erm...Yes, if it doesn't trouble you, perhaps I could help you again?" Shay blinked wondering if he heard right? meanwhile Y/n inner thoughts were going haywire. "You idiot, why would you ask him? no man wants the creepy undertaker’s daughter especially someone as handsome as-" Shay's broke through her pity party. "That wouldn't trouble me at all." Y/n up at Shay who looked equally startled by his words.
Cue an awkward starring contest before Y/n realized she was still holding his arm, letting him go the y/hc shyly averted her eyes to the floor/cheeks went pink, Shay was thankful for that she couldn't see the tips of his ears were red, he calmed himself before walking out of the funeral home. "I'll see you again." he promised before heading back to Haytham with his findings.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but I was wondering what your thoughts on Rhea are.
Oh, I don't think someone asked it, but I remember a character meme.
Rhea's in the Julia tier : you're expecting things and the game doesn't give you any.
you asked for thoughts so this is long and rather unorganised even if i tried a bit and i feel like i repeated myself a lot so meh
If Edel and Rhea have one thing in common, it's being shafted by the need to make Billy the most special being every with the monstrous "I was lonely before you player-chan uwu".
Seteth'n'Flayn ? In the same trashcan Hubert went in.
Catherine, Shamir, the randoms living in the monastery? Dgaf but still she's willing to die for them so does she really gaf or not? Rhea's willing to give her blood and crest stone shards (to this day I still don't understand what those are) to trusted randoms who would become cardinals? "uwu player-chan". I know I've written a bit about it with the seirelm anon, but with the Canon-ish info? Post Zanado Rhea told a random dude she could turn in a dragon, gave her blood to the same dude and remained in his empire/fighting by his side for at least 30 years. Still “lonely without U Billy <3″
I've written this in the meme entry, but Rhea has her own net of relationships. They're not as important as Dimitri and his childhood friends, but erasing them for the sake of "player-chan" feels wrong.
Role and goals
Rhea's in an interesting place, being a former "legendary hero" like Athos, Sephiran etc.
Still her fight isn't over, she only defeated Nemesis and couldn't end the mastermind behind (a bit like Seliph if you only kill Arvis or Roy when you forget to pick up every legendary weapon). Also, if Seiros killed Nemesis, she hasn't won. In the current Fodlan, she still has to pretend to be a human, the Nabateans as a culture/population are dead. They're still 5 (ish? I think the apostles are lizards), she's still afraid humans will dice them if they learn the truth. Has she won? Idk. Could she win and make a Fodlan were lizards and humans could live together? I don't think so.
Her role as the Archbishop? Well, the game really liked Rhea as a red herring during white clouds and the way FE16 is built, around the monastery, reinforces it. Rhea's the head of the monastery, so she's the head of your world. Everything wrong with the world is automatically linked to Rhea.
So, when Marianne complains about people wanting to kill/ostracise her because of her crest, thinking it's a curse, we of course wonder "why Rhea can't tell to the randoms that no Marianne shouldn't be killed/shunned because of her crest?". Completely forgetting that, hey, Marianne's from the Alliance and heiress of Edmund, so if some people should intervene, it should be her dad "why the fuck are you trying to kill my daughter" or the Alliance council "Duke Riegan, could you please make a public statement about my daughter and how she isn't some sort of demonic beast so stop throwing rocks at her?".
Same thing with the Empire, why should you blame the church and the crests instead of the people doing shit? Hanneman's brother in law? Like is marriage so absolute that a husband can force multiple pregnancies on his wife to the point of literally killing her? The von Essar aren't as important as the Bergliez, but Hanneman's sister dying like that should have rang some bells? Hanneman's dad didn't care? No one wanted to appeal to the Emperor or something? If Jane the random or Karen the peasant died this way, it’d be usual class nonsense. But a noble woman??
Rhea should have done more to prevent crest abuse. She wrote tenets in her Bible and apparently doesn't discriminate in her monastery. But in the other countries? Idk. Her tenets are interpreted like your shopping list by Gloucester Sr "and add a part where interacting with foreigners goes against Seiros's teachings what yes I know better than those dunces from the eastern/central church".
It's not because Riegan Sr and Ionius aren't doing shit that she should do nothing too, but ultimately it falls on the usual landmine about Rhea's influence and power over Fodlan and if we consider Fodlan isn't just the Monastery we see but a continent made up of 4 autonomous states...
The so-called status quo isn't upheld by the church alone (if it is upheld in the first place!), but also by the empire and the Alliance... Lambert was toasted before making any changes, the Alliance is that weird thing where money is anything and crests/old nobility doesn't matter anymore, and the Empire is... Well. The Empire.
Regarding this, I find it really strange that Rhea went to Goneril and rescued one of their slaves, with how much she cares about protecting her monastery and not antagonising anyone, picking Cyril up, risking the ire of house Goneril, feels really risky from her perspective.
Imo WC doesn't sell me the "church rules over the continent" take.
Ultimately it doesn't matter because Rhea thinks she should have done more, and abused her position as the archbishop to rez her mom - I understand the "abused her position" as regretting her various omissions, like helping more people around etc etc.
I also feel like Rhea’s got a big survivor complex, and tries to fulfill impossible tasks. "leading/guiding the world?" she won't take an active role in it, but still resents the state of current Fodlan and wishes Sothis could restore some order (crest abuse? Or relics popping up right and left meaning more sibs dying). She wants to :
1/ guide the world and make it a better place (why complaining about the wayward Fodlan otherwise?)
2/ protect randoms who live under her protection
3/ make sure no one learns the truth about her appearance and relics at the same time.
I don't think it's possible given her current role and especially not possible on her own.
About 3/, call back to FE9 or not, but Rhea's paranoia is... Actually, not proven to be exaggerated in the game.
Ranulf was lynched in Crimea when he was discovered to be a laguz? In a certain route, Rhea's called a cruel beast due to her appearance, accused of not having "human" feelings and is depicted as a creature masquerading as a human. Hate and attack the woman all you want for things she did or might have done, but getting rid of her because she's not human? Rhea's right about not revealing her true nature, because, relics notwithstanding, humans will try to kill her for being a nabatean. Relic wise, in the DLC, we learn Aubin was recently turned in a relic, so that's even more reason to hide.
On 1/, wanting to promote peace in the land? National bias at play with rewriting history “to promote peace” issue. Rhea also built the officer's academy (if nobles from different states can live and study together surely they won't try to kill each other when they return home because they might have become friends?) and with help from the everyone in Fodlan (even the empire iirc?) built the locket to fend off Almyrian invasions. Not saying this is the best way to protect your borders but at least she tried to help instead of staying holed in her monastery.
Imo if Rhea didn't care about Fodlan, she'd have followed her bros and fortified herself in her monastery without accepting random humans to live with her, wouldn't have written a book about how everyone had to get along "unless it goes against the goddess" and wouldn't basically run what seems to be the biggest orphanage/place for the needy/and whatever is the abyss in the continent.
Not saying she doesn't have a priority, but Rhea tries to care, on her scale, about Fodlan's randoms.
About said randoms (and 2/)...
Well there's this bout with Lonato's rebellion and another herring where Rhea's all "I will destroy anyone who takes arms against the church and its believers" and it's extreme, I can’t deny. But if Lonato took arms and mounted a militia to attack Ositia's castle and its randoms? Hector'd have Armads'd Lonato without a second thought. Elincia had qualms about taking her weapons against her own countrymen who were used by Ludveck, but in the end, she took up her weapons to defend her castle, even if it meant she had to kill militiamen. Rhea's line seemed random and cold in the context, but it's the same general idea, attack her people and she will kill you. Still, if you don't take weapons against her, she won't react violently. Duke Gerth is apparently dick waving with Aubin's relic, but Shamir wasn't sent to recover the thing or to get rid of Gerth.
Ultimately Rhea blows her cover and abandons her dream to reunite with her mother to protect the monastery and its inhabitants in 3 routes (arguably in CF too). Someone once made a post about the differences between Seiros's and Edel's crowns and the symbolism of wings - the IO's wings are meant to protect. The IO is the guardian/protector. Rhea tanks missiles and buys time for the students to escape at the cost of her life.
Relationships
Rhea and Sothis? someone made a post summarizing my thoughts about their relationship, or lack of, and if we can argue Sothis was shafted by the devs like Rhea and Edel, ultimately the only important person to Sothis is Billy.
Billy doesn't warp Sothis's preexisting net of relationships, Sothis doesn't have relationships with anyone save for Billy. Rhea wants to meet her mom more than anything else (save for protecting randoms) but Sothis will never address that plot point. She only does in SS and off screen, and it ends up with Rhea wondering if she should live... so take it as you want, but to me it mustn't have been the "hug and pat on the head" kind of reunion.
Ultimately we see Rhea is able to let go of her dream (rez mom) in several routes, she understands and acknowledges Sothis will never return and Billy has her powers now, so either she dies more or less at peace knowing she can trust Billy with Fodlan's future, or she can return to Zanado and live peacefully with Catherine.
Which leads me to the Billy relationship,
As much as I hate player pandering, it makes some sense that Rhea would support Billy and not, let's say, Caspar. I still hate it though because Billy exclusive support means we were robbed of Rhea's other supports with, idk, her fam, Cyril, Catherine, Shamir, Alois, Hanneman, Manu etc etc.
In the beginning of WC, Rhea's pretty sure Billy's Sothis but without memories. Then in the non-cf chapter 12, she tells Billy they know what they are and thus must guide Fodlan, also telling Seteth Billy's a vector for sothis's powers, but not Sothis herself. In SS's finale she calls them "mother" but in her S-support finally acknowledges Billy's their own thing.
In CF Rhea's vicious in her trash talk but immediately jumps to the conclusion that Billy cannot be or hear Sothis, because, to her, logically, Sothis wouldn't side with Edel and her Agarthian allies (stealing the crest stones, Flayn, etc etc). Billy is something that stole Sothis's crest stone and sword and wants to finish what Nemesis started. I don't think CF Rhea snaps because Billy isn't Sothis, CF Rhea snaps because, again, someone is using her mother to kill her.
Rhea's also supposed to have been fond of Citrus to the point of talking to her remains (something she does with her mom) which could explain her sympathy for Billy regardless of the Sothis project.
Jeralt's a different issue, apparently they worked together for more than 100 years but Rhea never told him the truth about her nature, only about how he was saved. Still, Jeralt betrays when his baby is "weird" and unlike regular human babies so... Would he have ran away if he learnt what rhea was? Dumped Citrus if he knew she was an artificial being? Idk.
Catherine Shamir cyril and pals (Alois)? We don't know bcs the game dgaf about anyone not named Billy. As I said above, It’d have been nice to get more interactions with randoms she is working with, or at least showed some care, but nope. “Player-chan uwu” strikes again.
Seteth'n'Flayn? Rhea's close to them, she gets out of her room to look for Flayn and Cyril and Catherine note how she seems close to Seteth (who's totally her bro), but again, the game hates us. FFS don't think she has a line with Flayn!
Secrets and explosions
Tied to 3/ and 1/ from earlier, Rhea keeps a lot of secrets which could justify her lack of relationships/supports with the others... but this argument falls flat, because she’s not the only one with a secret and if Flayn doesn’t seem to care that much about hers, Seteth does and is still able to support students and staff members. Which leads to tragedies.
The Christophe incident is not well documented, and while we learn Rhea was the target of Christophe’s attempt because Western peeps told him so, it is not very well explained why she didn’t execute him on those grounds instead of falsifying charges about involvement with the Regicide. We are told it was to stabilise the Kingdom, but I still don’t know how the Kingdom would have suffered backlash if Rhea told the truth (maybe it would have led to open conflict between the western church and the central church in the kingdom, when the kingdom needed stability at that point? idk).
Still, Lonato wants revenge for Christophe, not because he was executed on false charges, but because he died ; imo, if Lonato learnt the truth, he’d still be out for Catherine and Rhea’s head.
Aelfie’s gambit is more of a direct result of Rhea’s secrecy, because she had “no words” for him about why Citrus was still in pristine condition, he gave up and tried to rez her. Would it had been different if she told him what Citrus was (and by extent, what she was)? Idk. Maybe, maybe not.
Still, Rhea doesn’t keep secrets from everyone every time - she once trusted Willy and told him about her alternate form and it exploded 1k years later, when Willy’s descendants are out for her head because she’s a creature masquerading as a human (I know mole people also played a part, but I guess it sticked more with Edel and the gang who already knew Rhea was a dragon ; trying to convince a random that “hey, this woman is a dragon !” would be more difficult). CF-wise again, Rhea trusts Billy with the SoC and, again, it explodes. In CF Rhea feels betrayed, she trusted some people and now the very same people (or their descendant in Edel’s case) are trying to kill her.
So it’s not a case of someone never trusting anyone, it’s someone trusting some people and regretting it afterwards (in both routes + CF at least, even if I firmly believe the “evil lizards ruling over the world” spiel doesn’t come from Willy, but from later emperors influenced by mole people).
There can also be a point made for Aelfie, who might have been able to merge with Citrus to create an umbral beast because he had Rhea’s blood and a crest stone shard - Citrus being a fake Nabatean and Aelfie having a crest stone + blood might have produced CS’s final boss? Rhea trusted Aelfie with a crest stone shard and her blood, and he became an umbral beast.
Interestingly, Rhea is hell bent on keeping her secrets regarding her identity, in SS Seteth has to beg her to reveal everything to Billy when Billy is the most important person in the world “uwu” or at least, the only person Rhea supposedly opened to. Even the “uwu” factor isn’t enough, on its own, to make her reveal the truth about her identity.
She gives Claude half-truths, and has to be on death’s door to tell him everything - still occulting Seteth’n’Flayn, to the point where Claude later wonders if there are other children of the goddess around.
Vengeful Rhea?
Rhea isn't a stale piece of bread like Julia. She says mean words to Nemesis but also brutally kills him. Rhea cannot forgive the Elites. I know it's very different, but Julia "dad is the kindest man I ever knew" making a 180° “i must atone for what dad did eff him” will always make me throw up - she doesn’t have to be vengeful or try to stab Seliph with a butter knife, but no acknowledgement of “dad’s the bestest” after his death, or even, of his death is meh.
To Rhea, Nemesis and the Elites are a trigger point, and everything related to Zanado. CF!Billy using her mom’s powers is like Nemesis, CF!Billy + Edel pillaging what remains of her siblings in Nemesis’n’Dudes. Flamey doing his shit with Flayn also parallels that. There’s the usual “vengeance sucks” speech to be given, but also the Tellius verse where Laguz aren’t depicted in a bad light when they want to destroy Izuka or when Tibarn learns Lekain was responsible for Serenes’s massacre.
Still, unlike Tibarn’n’pals, Rhea, unlike Macuil, doesn't seem to hold a grudge against descendants of the Elites. Maybe she had faith in them when she told them not to abuse the power of their crests, but then their descendants forgot or didn’t care and we’re in the so-called crest system.
In SS, Seteth asks the BE students if they want to return home to the Empire and how he won’t hold it against them. Seteth’s being Rhea’s right hand bro in this situation, I doubt he’d have proposed this solution without her approval.
She is vengeful and ready to pursue for more 90 years someone to kill them, but she won’t target that someone’s descendants or potential allies. I’ve read some takes about the Western Church being razed to the ground after Catherine’s paralogue, but iirc, Rhea’s only going to execute the Bishop there ; they appoint a new bishop in hopes to ease the relationships between the central and western church. There’d be no point to appoint someone to rule over a body that doesn’t exist...
Grey waves
Wave 1 : Another parallel with Edel is the will to sink in troubled waters to reach their goals.
However, Rhea stays on the surface.
Aelfie thinks Seiros failed to rez Sothis with the chalice because she didn't take more blood from the apostles. Blood rituals are creepy and gave an umbral beast. Seiros didn't pursue and sought another mean to rez Sothis without killing her bros. Rhea makes homunculi to host Sothis's soul? It fails but the homunculi isn't destroyed asap to make another one, hell, Rhea cares about them (which is all kinds of fucked up on its own).
AM wise, iirc, Seteth and Catherine say Rhea'd never forgive them if they run to save her instead of saving randoms first.
Still, making homunculus to create a vessel for her mom - making artificial lives - is problematic, she’s ashamed of it “i did questionable things” and Seteth berates her on her “questionable” experiments.
CF!Rhea eats babies during the final map. She burns the city to make her last stronghold and refuses to run away. CF!Rhea, at the end of this route, completely abandoned goal 1 2 and 3. She wants to survive, yes, but to recover Sothis, no matter how. She still seems to care about humanity, but takes everything too literally and is persuaded humanity and humans are after her to hurt her and her mother (i’m pretty sure uncle Arry was waiting with his Agarthan tech suitcase for Edel to deal with the beast in the background). Contrary to CF’s chapter 12, Endgame!Rhea doesn’t have lines when Catherine and Cyril fall. She’s still siding with humans, but she’s in this for herself now.
Of course, CF!Rhea is special, because CF!Rhea lives again through her trauma, CF!Rhea lost her home, her bro and niece a few chapters ago, she lost her human allies, apparently some peons from her church are deserting and Uncle is waiting with his portable electric saw to turn her in a shiny sword, because she trusted a corpse with Sothis’s heart and spine and trusted a human 1000 years ago with her secret. And now said corpse follows someone who rings at her door with an army, wishes to obliterate her unless she surrenders (?) and works with Uncle and his dubstep pals.
In the other routes, Billy doesn’t want to killer her with her mother’s spine and tries to defend her home, Seteth’n’Flayn aren’t forced into exile or dead and depending on the route she gets to see Uncle and his dubstep friends being buried under rubble.
Troubled waters to reach her goals also include slowing Fodlan’s technological advancements (but was it really slowing down Fodlan’s R&D’s department or cliking “no” when Mole People offer a free (for now) new technology that makes you advance from bronze age to the industrial era in one go?)
Wave 2 : Rhea’s anchored in the past, she wants to return to happier days with her mom and her family, but also wants to help randoms in Fodlan
She doesn’t seem to mind the present where humans do whatever they want, and yet will protect her people and tries (or tried since it’s history) to keep Fodlan safe.
I think the game wanted to tell us Rhea’s stuck in the past, but she also manages to form bonds (albeit fickle) in the present with Catherine, Shamir and, arguably, Cyril. Seteth’n’Flayn accept the past and try to move forward, Rhea cannot and yet is making baby steps forward, or at least to live in the present. “uwu factor” is supposed to mean Rhea’s stuck in the past and can only see Billy for what they are once she accepts to live in the present, but Rhea’s already fond of Catherine, calls Aelfie her child, was fond of Citrus and Jeralt, makes time for Cyril, etc etc. It’s not as clear cut as drinking tea with them but it’s still something that quashes the “lonely B4 U player-chan uwu”.
Rhea thinks her biggest grey wave is how she didn’t do enough for Fodlan and feels inadequate to walk in Sothis’s shoes as the guardian/protector of Fodlan - she could have done more, but she’s busy juggling with three goals, rez mom, protect fodlan, protect the fam.
I think one of her main issue (but the game was also made this way so) is to try to reach those goals alone, save for the “rez mom” goal, everyone in Fodlan, especially the heads of the three states should be concerned with keeping peace in the continent!
Lambert was BBQ’s, Riegan’s busy shitting on Gloucester and Ionius is... well, Ionius. Add to that Mole People starting up shit all around the continent and you have the recipe for a disaster. I’m not saying Lambert and Ionius should have participated to the “protect her family” goal, but at least not trying to eradicate them to turn them in relics would have been nice, sadly Ionius’s bro in law was an Agarthan.
Even if she is nearly immortal compared to a human, Rhea can’t do everything on her own. That’s why I ultimately think a SS ending is doomed to fail, Billy will try to be Rhea 2.0. and in 1000 years it will fall apart again.
AM ending? Billy will become like Rhea was post War of Heroes, but when Dimitri’s descendants start to do shit, his Kingdom disappears and humans start to return to their usual shitty selves, what will Billy do?
VW ending is kind of the same, Claude wants to open the borders and make everyone able to live regardless of their differences, but what if 940 years later an Almyrian president decides to build a wall between Fodlan and Almyra and make Fodlaneses pay for it? What is immortal Billy, who knew Claude and his ideals, going to do?
Wave 3 (lol i nearly forgot but remembered when i was rambling in the tags) : Rhea and technology !
The DLC book and Word of God said she slowed advance of technology in Fodlan to protect peace etc etc. But there’s a book where a cardinal said “eff to autopsies else people won’t rely on us with faith magic” which is... kind of weird. There’s a reason why Rhea might have approved that ban (Why does Freikugel look like a hip bone?) but it still deprived Fodlan’s randoms from the scientifical advance of autopsies... and made people reliant on faith magic.
Actually, the book goes
“Though it is widely believed that this is medically relevant, such actions upon a corpse are considered desecration of the dead. Since white magic can be used to a similar end, autopsies were deemed taboo. A notable cardinal asserted that if medical science were to excel over faith-based white magic, it would destabilize the foundation of the church “
I already pointed out the WTF between faith and white magic (Seteth doesn’t believe his mom is real so he has no faith boon) but interesting to note “desecrating the dead” is still something of an argument nowadays, not regarding autopsies but other practices like anatomical theaters etc etc. Maybe White Magic isn’t intrusive and yields the same results? idk.
Interesting to note, it’s a cardinal who edicted/justified that ban (Rhea as the head of the Church would have given her approval oc). As pointed out with the Freikugel example, Rhea’d have a personal interest in preventing humans to know more about anatomy (goal 3/). Would people stop looking to the church to be healed if “medical science” progresses too much? Maybe. From what we see in the curren Fodlan, it doesn’t.
Also, French version translated the “foundation of the church” as “stability” of the church - would the church become unstable or challenged if people could heal without using white magic? Again, we ultimately know that it doesn’t, magical science and medical science coexist, Manuela gives a short summary of the two - they have different effects.
As for things Rhea herself banned : Telescopes, Oil exploitation and Printed Press.
Telescopes were banned because Rhea thought it would increase violence during wartimes and would make it too easy to snipe from afar (TFW mages with bolting can do the same without telescopes, but they’re limited by their range and if they have a gloucester’s crest by Rhea’s sister’s femur’s range or whatever is Thyrsus). We know the mole people use (and most likely used before during the Sothis war) this technology. The “lessening the mystery of the goddess” thing is noted by Edel herself who wonders if the Goddess could really have come from space since it’s super far away. Edel doesn’t know the Goddess is an alien dragon-thing though.
Oil exploitation : “Misuse could result in accidental death” tfw random Faerghus countryman thought it was water and died :’(
Used tactically by those lacking magical abilities - like gambits? Was Rhea thinking that a random human cannot set fire to an entire city (lol) on his own with his limited spell pool/uses, but if he uses oil then he would only be limited by the quatity of oil? So it’d be easier to cause mass fires? Or whatever Robin did in FE13 with the ships and the Valmese army? Also, if Rhea thought oil could replace humans with magic, does it mean humans with magic were supposed to do everything oil can do? Like making a lamp or they still used something else as fuel? “Competition for it could cause strife” Rhea acknowledged that if humans discovered this ressource they’d deem it as essential and try to get their hands on it, even if they had to wage war?
Metal molding Printing Machine : “after careful consideration” Rhea banned it because it’d be useless for illiterate randoms - well yes, but why should this be an argument? You don’t ban something because it’s useless, look, no one banned airpods - risk of mass circulation of false information or rumors : rhea wanted to prevent redshit from existing This is a way to control information, but funnily enough in the game, we see the results or someone deliberately using manifestos spreading misinformation - risk of “increasing disparity between church branches” (fr version has “rivalry” instead of disparity) what does it mean? The central church would have more means to print books than the eastern church so the eastern church would be jealous? Or the Western Church could mass print its doctrine and have more zealots than the central or the easter church?
Ultimately, all those bans were lifted with time, Manuela performs Jeralt’s autopsy, Edel’s imperial science division managed to guess the distance between the Blue sea star and Fodlan, Oil is apparently used in several gambits, Edel’s able to send manifestos around the continent and Seteth can write children books and sell them without difficulties. Hilda can also lose books which would be a big no-no even if you are a noble if books weren’t, kind of, mass printed.
So why those bans? To protect Fodlan and the fam, but since they were lifted with time, I don’t think Rhea abandonned her goals, most likely, she thought humans were making small steps to discover those technologies, slowly learning about them so they won’t have them when they’re not “ready enough” to use them.
The “ready enough” thing sounds paternalistic or what can be expected from a more technologically advanced alien, but technically Rhea’s part alien and she lived through (or not?) an episode where humans received technology and did shit with it (mole people) so maybe she won’t hand them the car with the keys this time, and instead let them figure out how to build the car.
Still, this is HC because, as usual, the game doesn’t let us talk or question Rhea about those things, so we can only infer, read between the lines or between pixels.
****
TBH, I didn’t care a lot about her when I played, but when she had to eat babies in CF I grew more interested. Other bloggers already pointed it out, but Rhea’s a Tiki, but also a “traditional FE lord” in the sense she avenged her mom who was killed by the king of another kingdom, lived in exile and raised an army to fight against the King.
Still, Rhea didn’t end up as the leader of the world, or as the first Empress of United Fodlan, or something like that. She let Willy do his thing. Why? How? Why didn’t she became an integral part of the Empire, if she had been politically important, or a kind of seer/oracle, it would have been difficult for the Empire to go against her!
But nope, Rhea figged away in her mountains to rez her mom, sprout some “doctrine” (she could have done the same as an Emperor/Seer/Oracle) and watched over randoms who made up her “church”. She sometimes tries to intervene in Fodlan’s best interests, but it failed. Because Rhea doesn’t want to rule. She feels like she has to be a guide, but when humans don’t follow her? Well, what can she do? FE16 doesn’t show us Rhea sending her knights against the Empire when the Empire kicked out her Church and basically said “fig” to her face. FE16 doesn’t show us Rhea being angry and punching Gloucester in the face because he doesn’t show “real piety” and sprouts doctrine out of his rear.
Still, when she has to take a more hands-on approach and cannot be a distant figure/guide, she complains about maintaining a certain image as the Archbishop and how she cannot socialise with students or even walk around without Seteth randoms guarding her. She feels her mother would do a better job and tries to act as a proxy. Imo, Rhea’s bound by duty to her mom, to her sibs dead and living, and to Fodlan. She doesn’t reject her role, she accepts it, she doesn’t like it yes, but if going Gandalf in non-CF chapter 12 shows, she will fulfill it.
What’s most saddening though, is how her duty is a self-imposed one. Rez her mom? She personally took the challenge, because she misses Sothis the most and feels ashamed of this feeling to the point of not telling Seteth about it (interesting enough, Indech seems to be aware Billy’s Sothis incarnation and didn’t jump to the “Billy must be one of Nemesis’s kids with the crest of flames” conclusion, as if he knew Sothis could “incarnate” one day, but was he thinking Sothis would incarnate on her own or Rhea would trigger it? Flayn also suspects a thing about Billy being related to them because of Rhea). Rhea personally thinks she has to lead/guide Fodlan and make it a better place, ignoring the heads of the 3 states who should also be concerned with this goal. Rhea will create a false history to protect her living siblings when Macuil and Indech won’t give a fuck and live in their bestial forms somewhere, and when Seteth hides, but made it clear his only wish is to protect Flayn and the apostles, if they were really lizards, disappeared in random villages.
FE16 isn’t interested by Rhea’s story though.
That’s why I’m desperately waiting for a War of Heroes DLC or prequel of BSFE or whatever because I don’t really care about Fodlan in 1180 and who can have a perfect tea time with Billy or not.
I’d like to know why Birdie and Indech figged away, why Rhea thought letting Willy control the entire continent when he knows she’s a dragon was a good idea, why the Apostles didn’t take part in the Nemesis fight, why Fodlan’s humans decided to side with Willy in his brand new Empire instead of staying with King Nemesis, did Sothis have a previous faithful and what happened when she disappeared, were the Nabateans tyrannical rulers over humans which made some with Nemesis’n’pals, what were they supposed to do when they left Zanado, etc, etc.
So just like Julia and the baijilions AU ideas I came up with, Rhea’s a fuel for AUs because her base game dgaf about her.

Survey #350
“let’s play a love game, play a love game  /  do you want love, or you want fame?  /  are you in the game?”
Who was your first good kiss with? Jason. Would you kiss this person again? I know I fucking would and I hate it more than I could possibly express. Name something that is on your bedroom wall? Lots of artwork, mostly of meerkats. What accessory do you want in your bedroom? I need another desk to put stuff on. If you could paint your walls any color what would it be? Something pastel. Maybe like, peach. Soft and warm and would really bring light to the room. What does your phone case look like? It's just this boring purple one that came with the phone. What do you take the most pictures of? My camera roll says my pets, hahaha. What is the point of Twitter for you? Liking Mark's shit lmao. What does your planner look like? I don’t have one. If you get into an argument what is it usually about? My anxiety, I think. What are you always in the mood for? Ummm probably a car ride where I can control the music in the passenger seat. It is very, very rare I'll turn that opportunity down. What’s the last emergency you dealt with? I don't really know; I'm thankfully not in these situations very much, especially when you're cooped up at home. I probably haven't been actually engaged in an emergency since I had to call 911 for my mom before she found out about her cancer. She was basically immobile from agony in her abdomen. Do you have a son? I'm perfectly happy without a son, or kids period. Are you married? No. Have you ever worn a suit? I haven't. Have you ever had to call 911? Twice for Mom. How many keys are on your key-ring? Just one for the house. What’s the last thing you created? An RP post would count as art creation, I'd say. Who are your closest friends? Sara, Girt, and uh... Well, they might be it as far as friends I consider truly close to me. I have a few other people I consider good friends, but we're just not like... on that "close" level, you know? Lisa is maybe another, and Lyndsey perhaps, both WoW friends. Are you ready to have a family? I hate that "have a family" tends to mean get married and have kids, which I'm guessing is what you're implying. If that's the case, no, given I don't want kids and am not fit to get married right now. I'm not even with anyone. I'm content right now with just living with my mom and my two pets, who are children well enough to me. Have you ever taken a DNA test? No. Do you have a family cemetery? No. Would you say you have a high sex drive or not so much? *shrugs* I think it's pretty normal. How do you feel about swallowing pills? What do you mean how do I "feel" about it? I just do it if I need to. What animal is the scariest in your opinion? Some kind of bug, probably. Giant centipedes creep me the fuck out, for one, and I've heard their bite is incredibly painful. I've also always been very afraid of Australia's funnel web spiders since watching some show on Animal Planet when I was younger; I think it scarred me for life, aha. And let's not forget the murder hornets. No thnx, rather die. :') Have you ever questioned your sanity? Way more than once, my friend. How do you feel about people wearing fur coats? Are you for or against it? I am VIOLENTLY against it unless it is for survival in extreme climates and you don't have access to other material. That aside, there is NO way you could possibly convince me that it's okay to wear the fur of something once living on yourself for ~fashion~. What’s the worst thing a friend has either done or said to you? Let's not go here. What’s fake about you? Like extensions, fake nails, botox etc. Nothing. If you got the chance, would you audition for a reality show? No. Have you ever gotten into a Facebook fight? Haha, yeah. Favorite flavor of jelly bean? Probably watermelon or strawberry. I'm not a massive jellybean fan. Do you use Tinder? If yes, have you ever met up with someone you matched? I've never tried it, no. What book/movie has made you cry the hardest? Either The Notebook or Titanic. Something you feared as a kid but don’t anymore? Thunderstorms. What’s your skincare routine? I don't really have one. Just wash it with water in the shower and then use a washcloth when I feel the need. Would you rather have a snake or a tarantula as a pet? I want both, but I prefer snakes. What is something you are NOT looking forward to? I both am and am not looking forward to my second Covid vaccine because it's notoriously worse than the first; the only bright side to it is that after the potential side effects blow over, I'm job hunting. What do you usually do right when you wake up? Check the time on my phone. Would you rather eat your pizza cold or hot? Hot, but I like both. Who taught you how to swim? Dad, I think? Can you do push-ups? No. Do you like Doritos? Yesssss. Who is the closest friend that you live by? I don't know. Have you ever banged your head against something? I've had two concussions before, so, y'know. Have you ever jumped on a trampoline? Yeah, I loved that as a kid. Do you like watching scary movies? Yeah. Has anyone ever told you that you have a big butt? No, considering I have like no ass, rip. Has one of your friends ever tried to "hook you up?" Ugh, yes. Do you prefer landmarks or street names when being given directions? Landmarks, by a mile. Although, I'm super bad with directions, so it probably wouldn't really matter much. Do you read the prologues in the beginnings of books? Yeah, you got to. Does your house have more than one fireplace? No. What was your favourite gym class moment? The one and only thing I liked about gym as a kid was when you took one of those rainbow tarps and made like, an air bubble underneath to make this awesome dome everyone sat in. Ya missed out if you didn't do that. Do you think that ocean boardwalks are fun? Yeah. Do you dread when people ask you to sign their yearbooks? Not at all; I was always flattered, knowing they cared enough to want mine. Apple Jacks: yay or nay? I looove those. Do you have a favorite Scooby-Doo movie? Haha yeah, I think it's the second one? Such iconic scenes. It's the one with the Mary Jane girl that Shaggy liked... oh, jokes that went over your head as a kid. Who were your last 3 Facebook messages from and what do they say? I'm too lazy to list the convos themselves, but the people involved are my friends Chelsea and Ian, as well as a friend's mother. Do you turn your phone off at night when you go to sleep? No. It's always on vibrate, and I just turn the brightness way down. What is the sexual orientation of the last person you talked to? She's straight. What’s your favourite hairstyle on the opposite sex? Don't you fucking dare laugh, emo hair is A++. Has anyone ever played a prank on you? What happened? Not a big one, no. Do you like the Silent Hill movies? Do I?! I love the first one (though for a while I wasn't very happy they swapped the lead role from Harry to his wife), and while the second is literal trash story-wise and it's ALL over the damn place, I still enjoy it with just how much I adore SH as a whole. What movie scared you the most out of any other movies? The Rite, because the concept of being raped and impregnated by a demon is fucking horrifying to me. Have you ever wanted to be on American Idol? When was this? Nah. Name 5 things you don’t believe in. 1.) "Everything happens for a reason;" 2.) karma; 3.) destiny/fate; 4.) psychics, fortune tellers, all that; and 5.) luck, at least in the sense of someone having set "good" or "bad" luck. If you could have any friend that you’ve lost back, who would you pick? Probably Megan. If you have pets, who normally puts food and water in their dish? Me for both of them. Do you organize the pictures on your computer into different folders or are they all just under “My Pictures”? I have folders. Do you think if someone is in a relationship, that it is acceptable to have sleepovers with other people of their preferred sex? Eh, nah, that feels a bit far to me. I am very firmly for friends still being able to hang out even if they're each other's preferred gender, but a sleepover sounds a bit too intimate, even without sharing a bed. Would you shoot a gun if given the chance? If you’ve shot a gun before, how many different types of guns have you shot? No. I'm very intimidated by guns and nearly shook when I merely handed a friend his (not for anything bad, he just carried it with him when he goes out), and I've got noooo plans of holding one again unless my life depends on it. Do you feel uncomfortable sharing things like artwork or poetry you’ve written? Is it because you don’t think it’s good enough to show off or because it’s too personal? You. Have. Zero. Idea. It's for both reasons, and it's far more severe in person. Online, I actually don't mind much, oddly enough... I can't quite pin down why. Do you have any siblings you absolutely despise? Why do you despise them? No. Do knives scare you? Is it from watching scary movies? Knives scare me like five times more than guns. Scary movies have nothing to do with it, though. They're just so sharp and the idea of being stabbed by one is terrifying. As someone with a history of self-mutilation too (not with knives, but I've thought about it and once planned to slit my throat with one, but Mom stopped me), they just make me incredibly uncomfortable to the point I can barely hold a "real" knife to just slice food. Have you ever climbed a chain-link fence? Many times. What is your LEAST favorite Disney animated movie? That I've seen, uhhhhh... I don't know man, there are way too many Disney movies lmao. Who was the last person’s house you went to besides your own? My sister's. On YouTube, who are two people you find hilarious? I'm just counting GameGrumps as one, and then you can't forget Shane Dawson, regardless of the controversy. He probably made me laugh more than any other YouTuber. Do you shave your pits? Yeah. Do you know anyone who has been on life support, and survived? I don't think so. Besides the USA, what is your favorite country? I'm not nearly informed enough about foreign countries' politics and laws and mannerisms to have a favorite. Would you rather go to Europe or Asia? Europe. Would you rather go to Africa or Australia? Africa. Would you rather go to Mexico or Canada? Canada. Do you think emo/scene hair is attractive? I love emo and scene hair, don't @ me, it's cute as fuck. Have you ever seen a ghost orb picture? Lots, actually, at one of my old houses that I totally know was haunted. Do you think abortion should be illegal? NO. You would NOT end abortions. You would end SAFE abortions. Do any of your pets have strange habits? Explain? Venus, my ball python, is extremely odd with food to the point I sometimes worry about her, but she's always been this way and is healthy, so I guess it's nothing really worth fretting over. Anyway, when I place her rat in her terrarium, she gets excited first and will pretty much frantically examine her surroundings, like slithering around everywhere, and even when she has clearly found the rat (she'll even prod it with her snout), she usually won't immediately eat. She just like... sits there and has to continue to verify for ten minutes that it's food. I know it's thawed perfectly, btw. So anyway, THAT'S weird... As for Roman, dear god, that cat's just weird, lmao. Especially in the morning, he's very hyper and will bolt around the house sometimes, he "plays" with nothing all the time, he "meerkat"s at nothing that I can nothing, etc. etc. etc. He's a weirdo lol. Have you ever told an extremely inappropriate joke? Oh god, I said something really inapprops once when my friend Chelsea startled me. I won't be repeating it lmao. Who in life have you felt the strongest need to protect? Sara, I think. Who have you most feared in your life? My dad. He doesn't scare me anymore, but he did. What was the quickest friendship you ever made? Oh idk. What is the worst word anyone ever used to describe you? "Martyr." And not the kind that dies for their beliefs. It hurt me so badly to know someone thought of me that way, and I'll probably never let it go. If you have any pets, were they adopted from the humane society? No. Roman is one of the billion kittens born to the cats my sister's in-laws have, and Venus is from a ball python breeding business in Florida called The Gourmet Rodent (they sell f/t rodents too, obvs) Do you like home design, like picking out paint colors and furniture? Not really. My grandmother though, whew, that was her calling for sure. Have you seen any of the old James Bond movies? Nope. List all of your features that you have ever gotten compliments on: My hair, my eyes, my tattoos, my hands, I think my nose, my dimples, my smile, and my boobs lmao. Have you ever been in a hot air balloon? And if not, would you ever want to go in one? I haven't. I think it'd be kinda cool, but they seem too easy to fall out of, and I'm afraid of heights. I'd probably go in one if given the opportunity. Do you have any stains on your shirt currently? No, but there are two small rips. It's just an old tank top. Do you listen to local bands? No. Not that I'm opposed, I just don't know of any I really enjoy. Do you watch YouTube videos often? Many, many daily. Do your parents fight? Do they even talk at all? They're divorced; they used to fight a lot when they were together. Now they only talk if they have reason to. Have you ever watched a movie that's in a complete different language, so you had to read sub-titles? No. Do people with yellow teeth disgust you? Dude, fuck off, no. My teeth are kinda yellow, and I'm extremely self-conscious about it, so seriously fuck this question. You never know for sure why someone's teeth may seem yellowish. Do you drink alcohol on New Year’s Eve? Usually a drink or two. Do you wear rings? I always have two on, yeah. Are you hungry right now? No, I literally just ate a breakfast bowl. Have you ever tried smoking a cigarette? No; I haven't the slightest interest in doing so.

Aedion x Lysandra baby headcanons
Also introducing: shifters!
-This is actually going to be a kind of short chapter
-You'll see why soon
-So Aedion and Lys thought they were prepared for a kid, right? After all, they're the adoptive parents of Evangeline
-But raising an eleven year old girl who's been through a lot of traumatic experiences (being sold by her mother, witnessing the war, etc) is a LOT different than raising a baby
-They don't know this, of course
-Aedion and Lys have been happy together for a while, and have built the city of Carraverre into something great. The city is thriving, trade is booming, the people love their lord and lady
-But then Lysandra meets Aelin and Elide's babies
-She's instantly in love
-Like, completely obsessed
-Since Lyria is not an easy baby, Lysandra offers to babysit her all the time
-Aedion does too
-After all, he considers the young princess his niece
-And so does Lys
-Evangeline loves her baby cousin Lyria, and she's so good with her. Lys thinks that since Ev's face is so different than those she's used to, it always makes her happy to see Evangeline
-So Lys is holding Lyria in her lap, with Evangeline clinging to her arm and cooing at the baby, and Aedion is lighting the fire to warm the room, and its just so perfect
-With her golden hair and green eyes, like a mix of Aedion's hair and a darker version of Lysandra's eyes, she can almost believe that the baby is hers
-She shakes the thought from her head immediately of course. She could never be jealous of Aelin and Rowan and their daughter
-But now she's deep in the grips of baby fever
-Aedion and Lys had not been taking contraceptives, at least until Rowan and Aelin got pregnant out of the blue. They realized that if two pure-blooded Fae could get pregnant that fast, then they had to be careful
-When Lyria goes home with her parents and Ev is off to bed, Lysandra pretty much pounces on her husband
-He doesn't complain, of course
-The next morning he goes to get her a tonic, and she refuses
-"Aedion, I want to have a baby" she says
-Aedion has been thinking the same thing. He just didn't want to bring it up, because he didn't know if Lysandra wanted to
-But now -
-"Why didn't you just so?" He laughs
-Anyway,
-A very flustered Aedion tells Evangeline to get herself breakfast and that she can do whatever she wants until lunch
-And a very smirking Evangeline skips off to eat chocolate for breakfast, because the girl knows what's up
-Though, not quite
-Lysandra and Aedion pretty much have a repeat wedding night, but this time in the middle of the day
-There's sporadic sexy times every now and then throughout the next few weeks, just to make sure
-But...
-Lysandra's cycle arrives exactly on time, just like it's been doing since she was thirteen
-So what, they say
-It might take a bit
-But...
-Months pass
-And Lys's cycle just keeps on coming
-They're getting frustrated, but when they go to a healer, she just says to give it time
-Lysandra asks Yrene in private the next time she sees her, only for her to get the same answer
-"It takes some people more time, don't worry." She assures her. "Just relax, anxiety doesn't help conception."
-Even so, Lys is anxious
-She wants a baby
-Even Evangeline is remarking occasionally that she'd like a baby brother or sister
-And Aedion and Lysandra desperately want to give her one
-But even with all their trying, there's still no baby
-Then Aelin, Elide, and Yrene all become pregnant at the same time
-It's a blow to Lysandra's heart
-She wants so badly to be happy for them. She's trying so hard to be happy
-But all she can think about is that her friends will all have kids so close in age to each other, and she might not even get a baby
-Her smile is forced at the announcement
-And that night she cries into Aedion's arms, and he makes love to her slow and deep, all the while assuring her that it has to happen soon. Any month now, her cycle will disappear
-But it still comes
-Lys starts trying all sorts of 'pregnancy helping' herbs. Nothing works
-She wonders if it's because she's a shifter that it's so difficult for her. But if it was hard for shifters to conceive, then how on earth would her father have sired her, a bastard child he abandoned?
-She's becoming obsessed
-And as much as Aedion wants a baby, he wants his wife to be happy more
-So he takes her on a vacation, in the hopes that it'll help her relax
-And it works, sort of
-Not seeing the babies seems to help, but she still worries
-At least when they get back she seems calmer
-Lysandra decides that if being a mother isn't going to be meant for her, then she needs to find a hobby
-Handicrafts? No
-Gardening? No
-Painting? A disaster
-She's in the middle of trying to write a book (and failing horribly, she's three pages in and it's only utter nonsense on the page) when Evangeline calls her downstairs
-Lysandra's daughter, fourteen years old, is standing in the entryway, holding open the heavy front doors
-There's three children outside on the doorstep. A girl, about Ev's age. Another girl, about ten years old. And a little boy, maybe five. All are covered in dirt and grime, and looking absolutely terrified
-The eldest girl gives a low curtsy, and Lysandra's heart breaks. She can't believe this girl, who looks like she's been through hell, is still curtsying, for someone she doesn't even need to.
-"I said I could get them some food." Evangeline says
-"Of course." Lysandra responds. "Food, but first, a bath. And clean clothes. And after dinner, a warm bed."
-The kids look scared, but Evangeline drags them through the manor, holding the girl's hand
-Lysandra draws each of them a bath, and orders Evangeline to tell the cook to make something hearty and hot for dinner
-When all the dirt is cleared away, the children are quite pretty. The girls have lovely dark hair and eyes, and the little boy has light brown hair and blue eyes.
-They introduce themselves. The eldest is Marsha, the middle girl is Ella, and the boy is Declan. They're siblings
-They eat dinner, and Lysandra tucks them away in guest bedrooms
-Aedion is out with the Bane at this time, and not due back for a while
-In that time, Lysandra has managed to find her new hobby: helping children
-She draws up plans for a house where all homeless and orphaned children are welcome. A place where they can go to get a bath, and clothes, and food, and a warm place to sleep
-The building is underway when Aedion arrives home
-He takes one look at his wife's beaming face as she cares for the kids, and his heart melts
-The house gets built, and the kids move in there, happy and safe. Evangeline frequents it, as she loves to visit with the older kids and help out with the younger ones. Lysandra is over there every chance she gets. Aedion visits often, and the kids love it when he tells stories from the Bane
-Lysandra has gotten out of her obsessive baby fever. She still wants a child, of course, but it's not always at the forefront of her mind
-But then another blow is dealt to her
-Manon announces that she and Dorian are expecting. She doesn't make a big deal of it, of course, but still
-Lys can't believe that the witch gets a baby and she doesn't
-She puts all her efforts into helping the kids of Carraverre
-With her hobby, she's able to finally look at her friends' children again without feeling like she's going to cry
-Which is good, because damn does Elide need a babysitter
-Lysandra is able to find it funny now that Elide is drowning in kids. Drowning in baby boys, more specifically
-Well, all this relaxing must have been good for her
-Because one day, after nearly three years of trying to have a baby, Lys's cycle is late
-She tries very hard not to get her hopes up. Her cycle's been a few days off before. It probably means nothing
-And she doesn't want to get Aedion's hopes up either, so she says nothing
-But a week passes. And then two. And still her cycle doesn't start
-After about two and a half weeks of nervously waiting for her cycle to come, to dash her hopes again, Lysandra suddenly starts getting very nauseous
-And when Aedion offers her some eggs at breakfast, she barely makes it to the bathroom before she hurls her guts up
-Aedion is super worried, because she hardly ever gets sick, right?
-And even though she's vomiting and feeling miserable, Lysandra can't help the flicker of hope in her chest
-When her husband comes into the bathroom after her, she smiles at him
-"Aedion, I think I'm pregnant"
-Of course Aedion flips out
-He had been secretly blaming himself for a while now, thinking it was his fault and his Fae blood that was making it so they couldn't get pregnant
-But... there might be a chance
-Both are super nervous now
-Lysandra stays in bed or at least sitting for most of the time. She's scared that something will go wrong and she'll miscarry
-She doesn't even shift, because she doesn't know what will happen if she does and doesn't want to risk it
-A month passes with no sign of her cycle, and the pair dares to hope
-Lys sends Yrene a letter detailing her suspicions. Yrene can't come and confirm it, but she promises that if Lys really is pregnant, she'll come to deliver the babe
-At two months is when Aedion detects a change in his wife's scent
-She normally smells divine, but he wakes up one morning and she smells exquisite, with her scent much richer than usual
-They go the same day to a healer and get it truly confirmed
-They're having a baby
-Both start to cry when they hear the news, and Lys can't stop smiling
-They tell Evangeline, and she cries too, because she's so excited to be a big sister
-They see Aelin a few weeks later, and Lys knows they immediately scent her
-So the first thing she says when she sees them is "I'm pregnant!"
-Rowan gives them both congrats, and Aelin drags Lys away to hear everything
-The males find them, hours later, curled up on the couch by the fire talking about baby names and holding little Sam and Lyria
-The two are acting like it's their child, but hey
-Lys is happy, so Aedion is happy
-Lysandra's pregnancy is not that bad, at least nausea wise
-She's only sick for the first two months, and then its gone
-Her real pregnancy issue is joint pain (mostly in her back and hips) and the weirdest fuckin cravings ever
-She wakes up one morning and asks Aedion for chocolate and cheese bread. Not separately, no no no, she wants cheese bread covered in chocolate
-Aedion goes 'honey wtf'
-Then she starts to cry, so Aedion's like 'ok looks like we're eating chocolate cheese bread for breakfast'
-Evangeline is stoked to be a big sister. She doesn't care that she'll be fifteen years older than her baby sibling, she's just so excited
-Let me just tell you, when this baby starts kicking, it doesn't stop. Ever
-At any given time in any given place, you could place a hand on Lysandra's belly and feel kicks. Kicks, punches, headbuts, who knows
-So Lys pretty much doesn't sleep during the last trimester of her pregnancy
-Also, she hates with a burning passion when people touch her belly without asking
-Only her friends and family can, and only for a bit
-It's because she spent so long without being able to say 'no' to people touching her, and it seems that any essence of consent goes away when you have a baby bump
-Aedion and Aelin are always ready to fuck people up if they show even a hint of heading to touch Lys's belly
-When she's seven months pregnant, she feels a sharp pain in her abdomen
-Aedion is out with the Bane, Evangeline is visiting the childrens' home
-The baby isn't due for two months
-It's too early
-Lysandra starts to cry, hugging her stomach and holding onto the bedframe, trying to breathe through the sudden pain
-There's another sharp pain, and she screams
-A maid finds her, and immediately calls for a healer, for anybody who can help
-The healer tries in desperation to stop the labor, but is unsuccessful
-It's moving too fast to stop, Lysandra is nearly fully dialated after barely half an hour
-She's so scared
-Aedion was supposed to be there for the birth
-So was Aelin, and Yrene was supposed to deliver it
-Her uncle was going to be there to see her baby afterwards
-But she's all alone
-And her baby is so small
-And it's heartbeat is dangerously slow
-Her waters break, and they're a sickly green color
-There's an infection in her womb
-They need to get the baby out now
-Lys gets bundled onto the bed that was rapidly stripped, and five minutes later she's pushing like her life depends on it
-Because her baby's life may depend on it
-She pushes for fifteen minutes
-And then a tiny little babe slips out into the world
-"A girl" the healer says
-She's nearly blue in the face, and the cord is wrapped around her neck
-The healer quickly fixes it, but the babe's cries are so weak
-Lysandra is sobbing, reaching her arms for her daughter even as she pushes out the afterbirth
-The healer tells her the statistics and the facts: The baby's chances of survival are slim
-But there is a chance, and they have hope
-Evangeline bursts through the bedroom doors, her red-gold hair a mess
-"Is the baby okay?" She asks
-Lysandra isn't sure how to answer her
-"You have a baby sister, Ev" Lys finally says quietly
-Ev wants to hold her, but Lys is cautious. She's scared for her baby, she doesn't want her to catch anything
-Evangeline understands, and goes to send a letter to summon Aedion home as soon as possible
-The tiny baby girl has a little tuft of golden blonde hair
-The first couple of days are some of the most stressful in Lysandra's life
-Because every noise her baby makes she overthinks and by the end she's called the healer about twenty times
-She's so tiny it's hard for her to breastfeed, and a very stressed Lys is terrified that her daughter will starve to death. Luckily, she's able to get it well enough
-Ev wants so badly to hold her baby sister, but Lysandra is so nervous and stressed that she won't let anyone else hold her
-Aedion arrives home as fast as physically possible, bursting through the door and running to his wife and newborn child
-He pretty much drops to his knees when he sees them, tucked in the bed together
-His first words to Lysandra are 'she's so small... oh my gods, i'm so sorry'
-Lysandra shushes him and assures him its not his fault he was away for her birth. She wasn't due for two months, damn it
-Finally, with her husband home, Lys feels comfortable enough to let her baby be held by someone other than her
-Aedion cuddles her, and she's so small she fits in the palms of his hands
-When she's held by her father, her little eyes open up
-They're Ashryver eyes
-The brightest blue, ringed with gold
-Evangeline is so happy to hold her baby sister. It's the purest thing ever
-They may not look like sisters, but Ev swears to Lys and Aedion that she'll always take care of her, no matter what
-The healer comes twice every day to look at the baby girl
-She's so small. So awfully small
-She eats very little, since breastfeeding is difficult for her
-But she's getting stronger
-Lys sends out letters to everyone, letting them know the news. And that nobody is to see the baby until she says so
-So for the next month, the baby girl gets stronger and stronger, and is only seen by her immediate family and the healer
-She still doesn't have a name
-They're honestly scared to name her, because if something goes horribly wrong, even though all signs are pointing to her being just fine, they don't want their heartbreak to be doubled
-But then Evangeline points out that it's awfully sad she isn't named
-That's it
-They won't let their daughter think she's not loved, even at only a month old
-Aedion picks out the first name, Lys the middle
-And Asceline Eleanor Ashryver is now a part of their family
-Aedion picked the first name because it goes well enough with Ashryver, as well as his name and Aelin's. After, all, she's an Ashryver
-Lysandra picked Eleanor for the middle name after Aedion's mother (That's my headcanon name for her)
-Asceline is a bit of a mouthful for a newborn, so they stick to calling her Lina and Ashy
-When she's two months old, she finally is able to breastfeed without a myriad of issues, and Lysandra nearly cries with joy
-The healer confirms it: Little Lina is healthy enough, and she will definitely live. And now she can have visitors
-Aelin comes over the next day
-She walks in and sees the baby, and she nearly cries at seeing her new little niece
-"Well," she sniffles, "That's an Ashryver if I've ever seen one"
-Asceline gets bigger and stronger, but due to her being a premie she develops a lot slower than a normal baby
-She doesn't even crawl til she's nearly nine months old
-Her first birthday comes and goes, and she hasn't even started standing
-She can say a few words, though her favorite is her own nickname, Lina
-That, along with Mama, Papa, and Sissy
-She finally starts walking when she's eighteen months old, and then she's completely unstoppable
-Terrible twos extends into Terrible Threes
-Asceline is a tantrum machine
-She'll fall to the floor kicking and screaming at any given moment
-Despite this, Aedion and Lysandra couldn't love their daughter more. She may be a handful, but she's their handful, so that makes her wonderful
-When she's four, her favorite thing is to walk around with her Aunty Aelin and her cousins (who by this point have been joined by little Aspen)
-However, sometimes it's only Aelin who can come, without her cousins. No worries, Lina loves walking with just her aunt and mother
-The only issue...
-People mistake her for Princess Lyria
-Despite the fact that Lyria is seven and Asceline is four
-But people see the hair, and the eyes, (though Lyr's are green) and automatically assume she's Aelin's daughter
-It never fails to make Lys want to throttle people
-After one such incident, that evening Lys cries into Aedion's arms because gods, why can't people ever tell that they're mother and daughter? Why can't for once, her daughter walk with Aelin and not get mistaken for her cousin
-Unbeknownst to both parents, Lina is in the doorway, hearing every word
-And though she doesn't understand all of what's being said, she knows that her mommy is sad, and so she does what she can to make her feel better
-And that means that her golden hair suddenly turns dark brown
-Lys notices her daughter in the doorway, her daughter with a new hair color
-Asceline is a little shifter
-It's very sweet, but soon enough the little girl is using her newfound power to play all sorts of tricks on people
-She likes to amuse the kids at the childrens' home by shifting into different animals
-She's quite powerful, and can make very large animals, even though she's hardly five years old
-Ashy gets bigger and bigger, though she's always fairly small for her age
-By the time she's ten, she has pretty much complete control over her shape-shifting powers
-She enjoys having her hair blonde like her father, but she often keeps it brown to make her mother happy. However, her favorite hair is when she turns it inky blue, the color of the night sky
-She's eleven when she comes across a stray dog in the streets on her way back from the childrens' home
-And the caring little girl doesn't hesitate one second to take it in
-It's a fairly small dog, and she names him Scruffy
-Knowing her parents will be upset if she takes in a stray, she tries to hide him in her room
-It's not a secret for long. Being a boy dog, Scruffy has a tendancy to pee everywhere. And I mean everywhere
-Lys feels bad for the dog, but she doesn't want a dog in the house
-Aedion, however, tells his daughter that she can keep the stray only if he stays in the stables at night and she housetrains him
-Asceline has never smiled so hard
-Over the next few years, she happens to take in a lot more strays
-She cleans them up and trains them, and then gives them to good homes
-Half of the stables now belongs to her dogs
-Asceline is fourteen when Lord Darrow dies. Evangeline, being his heir, packs her things and leaves for the land of Arran
-Lina is heartbroken. Her big sister, her best friend, moves away
-She cries for days and only leaves her room to take care of her dogs
-She's acting as if Evangeline died, and didn't just move to another part of the country
-Eventually she comes to her senses more and accepts it, though she hates being apart from her
-Without the steady guidance of her sister, Asceline makes more and more irrational descisions
-Evangeline is like 99% of her impulse control
-At fifteen, she sneaks out all the time to meet a boy
-When she's sixteen, she secretly follows her father to meet with his Bane
-And at seventeen, she gets in a lot of trouble after an incident involving a certain shape-shifter, a large amount of dogs, a lot of water, and a freezing cold army
-She's a prankster, and a creative one at that
-But she's no longer listening to the authority of her parents
-So...
-Find out what Aedion and Lysandra do to try and tame their wild daughter in my story, Worlds of Fire and Darkness, where Asceline is 17

The Lizzie Borden Case: A List of Strange Occurrences And Happenings Worthy of Note (Part 1)
~ Tensions between Abby and Emma/Lizzie were high. Lizzie referred to Abby as a “mean good-for-nothing thing” in March of 1892.
~ The dispute between Emma/Lizzie and Abby when Andrew bought Abby’s half sister the property the sister and her husband were residing in (the sister owned half and her mother owned the other half and wanted to sell... the half-sister could not afford to buy her mother’s share), put it in Abby’s name, and allowed Abby’s half-sister and her husband to continue living there free of rent.
~ Emma promising her mother on her deathbed to take care of “Baby Lizzie”; possible grooming of Lizzie?
~ The robbery a year before the Bordens were found murdered: Money, gold, streetcar tickets, and items of sentimental value were taken in the middle of the day (none of the household members heard a sound)
~ There were food poisonings 2 nights before the murders.Swordfish left the elder Bordens with severe food poisoning and Lizzie/Bridget with mild symptoms (Emma being out of town). The night before the murders a dinner of mutton stew left the household- with the exception of Lizzie- ill again.
~ The night before the murders Lizzie visited old neighbor/friend Alice Russell and said she thought the milk was being poisoned… and felt that “somebody” was going to “do something”
~ There is also Lizzie’s alleged attempt to buy prussic acid the day before the Bordens were murdered (later there was reasonable doubt as an inspector’s wife had asked a different store for the same thing on the same date… and was said to resemble Lizzie).
~ Lizzie was supposed to be out of town during the time of the murders visiting friends. Instead she postponed it to fulfill supposed secretary-treasurer duties for the Christian Endeavor Society at a meeting on Sunday. She supposedly sent a letter explaining her decision to other members of the society… The recipient burned the letter after the murders so that Lizzie’s actions would not be misconstrued. When questioned the recipient said very little about the letter, and none of the other women in the society would talk to the police.
~ Lizzie’s relationship with her father is also on the table… She stated she sometimes had to ask 2-3 times for money or favors, but usually received what she wanted… She was dissatisfied with her lot in life (receiving a spinster’s sum of $4 a week from Andrew who in today’s world would have been worth $10 million). Lizzie attended a church higher in society with which Andrew had had a real estate dispute with years before (resulting in him renting a pew at a more “modest” church).
~ Lizzie’s frustration with not living better or being on The Hill while Andrew simply hoarded his money (neither for spending nor social recognition on his part)
~ Abby, a 5’ tall 200 lb. woman, fell upstairs when she was struck down with 19 blows. Bridget was outside washing the windows and speaking to a neighboring maid…. But why did Lizzie not hear her fall… or at the very least hear some sort of noise…?
~ Lizzie calls Dr. Seabury Bowen and ignores the fact that 2 other doctors (Dr. Kelly and Dr. Chagnon) lived on her street… This may have been due to the fact that these doctors were Catholics while the Bordens were Protestants (no previous friendliness etc.).
~ The fact that Lizzie was heard laughing as she descended the staircase when Bridget said something funny as Lizzie’s father returned to the Borden house right after Abby would have been murdered. Bridget’s testimony later lined up with Lizzie’s descent of the staircase which would have put her in the line of sight of Abby’s body in the bedroom… Lizzie initially denied being upstairs and changed her story later saying that she HAD gone upstairs but only for a “few minutes.”
~ Lizzie’s change of clothes from blue clothing to a pink dress after the murders
~ The fact that there was at least an hour between the murders of Abby and Andrew- meaning that an assassin outside the household would have had to hide during that time and find their way downstairs to murder Andrew without being seen.
~ Lizzie’s initial story that Abby was out of the house after having received a note from a sick friend
~ The fact that when Alice Russell and Adelaide Churchill were with Lizzie (after discovering Andrew and sending for Bowen), Lizzie stated that Abby might have come home early
~ No note was ever found, no one came forward to state that they had indeed sent a note to Abby, no delivery-boy stepped forward to say one had been delivered, and the fact that no one saw Abby return home after said trip out cast doubt on Lizzie’s claim.
~ John V. Morse’s (Lizzie’s and Emma’s uncle) alibi was confirmed by a relative he was visiting and Dr. Bowen who was attending on said relative when Dr. Bowen was called back to the Borden house… It was strange that Morse was able to recall his streetcar number and the number on the streetcar conductor’s cap in such fine detail.
~ Even though Lizzie didn’t have food poisoning symptoms the night before the murders, she told Abby she wasn’t planning on having dinner the day of the murders… but during the murders she supposedly went to look for a sinker for fishing equipment in the barn (random?) and ate some pears up there that she gathered from the family’s fruit trees. She would have been in the one place that didn’t have a good view of the comings/goings of the household.
~ A convenient time for a crime as most of the police force was gone for their annual picnic near Providence, RI
~ Dr. Bowen’s protectiveness of Lizzie… even shutting the door in policemen’s faces to give her a moment to compose herself
~ Dr. Bowen’s strange burning of scraps of paper he seemed to be trying to piece back together… When asked about what he was doing he said it was a letter from his daughter. Officer Harrington, who caught a glimpse, said he saw Emma’s name on the burning paper… Dr. Bowen’s daughter’s name was Florence.
~ The pail of bloody rags that were found soaking in the wash cellar (Dr. Bowen provided a medical explanation for those)... Bridget had not noticed the pail until that day and that it could not have been there two days prior or she would have seen it as she put the contents in the wash that day.
~ Andrew Borden asked Emma to provide him with information on how she could be contacted by telegraph while she was visiting her friends… almost as if he had a sense something was going to happen.
~ Lizzie’s eerie statement after Adelaide ascended the stairs and glimpsed Abby: “O, I shall have to go to the cemetery by myself now.”
~ Lizzie’s lack of emotion while being questioned
~ Lizzie’s roundabout way of answering questions and often stating she did not understand simple questions
~ Lizzie’s last words under oath concerning a “shadowy” figure she saw lurking about the house a couple weeks before the murders; she was not able to provide specific dates or times for these sightings
~ Alice Russell said that initially Lizzie told her she went to the barn for some tin or lead to fix a window screen… not for sinkers
~ There was a testimony from a seamstress who stated that Lizzie, among other things, had said she and Emma did not usually eat with the elder Bordens... and would often wait until they were finished to go and eat themselves.
~ The warrant for Lizzie’s arrest only mentioned Andrew Borden
~ Lizzie received special treatment in her cell as her keeper was the mother of a childhood friend (Mrs. Wright).
~ The matron at the jail where Lizzie stayed prior to and during her trial overheard Emma and Lizzie talking… Lizzie allegedly said, “Emma, you’ve given me away.” Emma replied: “I only told Mr. Jennings [one of Lizzie’s lawyers] what I thought he ought to know.” Andrew Jennings finds out and tries to get the matron to sign a statement saying that she will not speak about the quarrel. She refuses and goes to City Marshall Hilliard… Hilliard advises her not to sign the statement and to wait to testify.
