Before I did yoga, I never used to understand why people described me as smiley and happy. Maybe I was smiling then, but I never really felt happy. It is the practice that opened the door to healing, forgiveness and acceptance. Now, when people say I’m smiley and happy, I feel it too. I would be lost without the practice which is why I’ve dedicated my life to teaching. I want you to find the secret of your own happiness. I want you ti always keep practicing. YOGA POSTURES
Asana is defined as “posture or pose;” its literal meaning is “seat.” Originally, there was only one asana–a stable and comfortable pose for prolonged seated meditation. More than just stretching and toning the physical body, the yoga poses open the nadis (energy channels) and chakras (psychic centers) of the body. Yoga poses also purify and help heal the body, as well as control, calm and focus the mind.

Yoga Mat Buying Guide
I started experimenting with yoga about four months ago. I knew I needed a mat, but didn't want to spend too much money on it since I wasn't sure if I would keep going with yoga.

I use this six out of seven days a week, for anywhere from 20 to 60 minutes each day. I take it to about two or three classes a week at different studios as well. The mat is starting to see some wear, though nothing nearly as bad as the images I see in some reviews. It's mostly little pockmarks here and there, a scratch on the edge, etc.
For a clueless beginner with sensitive knees and wrists, this mat is great. For a beginner with some knowledge, it starts losing its attractiveness. My 100% biggest problem is that the underside has no pattern, form, or anything to give it traction. This was simply not something I understood to be a problem at first, but it's very clear four months in. The mat will slide and stretch a bit when under pressure on a hardwood floor. Forget jumping to an open position - I slide when attempting to place my feet in a lunge, and have to spend time adjusting.
I think this is a great mat if you're just getting started. If you're serious, you'll probably want to think about upgrading to something better in a few months. Many colors are available Click here
