Dragonborn = amazing

Miraak is such a cool and sympathetic villain. Solthseim is such an interesting, beautiful country. Teldryn!!! Hermaeus Mora is terrifying and awesome. New shouts! Fated enemies. The storyline is just *chef's kiss*. Lucien Flavius' questline (if you like mods). Nice perks from the black books.

Dawnguard = bad

Serana annoys me for some reason. Both sides suck. No one, not even the people who work with him, likes Isran. Lord Harkon and his court is all cutthroat and the lighting is suspect. The vampire lord form is ugly af and nerfs your magicka. The quests are so far apart that doing a survival playthrough takes forever. The soul cairn is weird and I forget about the quests there as soon as I'm gone.

idk man. something about Cicero spending so much time taking care of the Listener that he forgets to care for himself. The Listener and Cicero becoming obsessed with taking care of one another. Bathing together, bandaging the other's wounds, defending each other during battle. They need one of those "Bonded Pair - Do Not Separate" warnings you see at shelters.

TES Shiptober 2023 Dream

This is about Derkeethus. An interesting soulmate concept.

You fall asleep and wake up in another soulmate dream. You watch through your soulmate’s eyes as he swims through a river. Silvery fish flash in the water, vanishing into the colorful rocks on the bottom.

You watch as scaly, dark green arms cut through the water with ease, making his way to the shore before pulling himself out of the water, a knee flashing into your vision as he uses it to pull himself up onto the bank.

He stands, scanning the landscape, and you see mountains, old pine forests, clear, cold water.

He’s in Skyrim somewhere. You’re sure of it.

You’re wandering across Skyrim, trying to find that mountain view. A few more dreams, a few more hints. You can sense you’re getting closer. Then one time you fall asleep and wake in another soulmate dream. It’s dark. Is it nighttime? Your soulmate looks up, and there’s a thin stream of moonlight shining through a distant hole in the rock ceiling.

It reflects off the water on the floor, faintly illuminates the bars of a cage. He’s still looking up, but the image jostles, like he’s shaking, and you snap awake, surging to your feet, sleep forgotten.

Your soulmate’s trapped and in trouble. You have to go.

You come across a mining village. Darkwater Crossing. It’s not much. Just a few small buildings, a little campfire that the miners gather around at night, and of course, the mine. But there’s the cold stream, that mountain view. He lives here, you know it.

“Do you know where Derkeethus is?” a girl asks.

You gather as much information as you can and go searching for him.

You fight your way through the falmer when you hear a voice calling for you.

“Is there someone there? Please help! I’m down here!”

It takes a while, but you find the entrance to his cage and make it down to him. You’d recognize that shade of green anywhere.

You protect him on your way out, and he tucks himself behind you. He was equipped for a short swim, not a bloody fight out of a dark cave filled with twisted creatures.

He still doesn’t recognize you, even when you leave the darkness of the cave. Does he not dream of you? But then you see him staring at your hands, and you think he might. You decide not to take him away from his home. He’s not a fighter, your Derkeethus, but you’re building a home where he’ll be safe. Once it’s completed, you might ask him to move in. And if you spend more time staring at your reflection, well, you’re just making sure he’ll be able to recognize you when you return.

Maybe a hot take, but I think Qui-Gon didn't throw Obi-Wan over for Anakin. I think he was clinging to his Padawan (by all accounts his son), and he was only able to finally let him go (at age 25! Really old for a knighting ceremony) because he found someone that needed him more.

Qui-Gon was all like "Y'all were right. Obi-Wan's been ready for ages."

And Obi-Wan as all like "Yeah, I'm ready to graduate and be a knight."

They were on the same page. Obi-Wan was ready to be knighted, and I think Qui-Gon was just clinging to him out of love (and maybe a smidge of attachment). I mean, could Qui-Gon really have been that bad if Obi-Wan was crying over and hugging his dead body? Doesn't that show a testament to the strength of their relationship?

Anyway, I'm just tired of people giving Qui-Gon a bad rap and saying how he threw out Obi-Wan the minute Anakin showed up. I think he was finally able to let him move on.

I've just watched Good Omens Season 2, and everyone needs to go watch it NOW! I MEAN IT, GO WATCH IT NOW!!!

It was amazing. Truly a lovely experience. So well done. Beautiful. I'll never get over it. My new favorite show (it's always been one of them). I can't wait for season 3.
