So, my pronouns are now the French Gender neutral ones of Yel/Lo, and that’s that.

So I’ve established with myself that I am not female, but what I’ve yet to establish is exactly what I am. And I really like having all and any pronouns, but people keep on using she/her.

Yes, technically it is fine by me. But where’s the originality? Where’s the mix?!! And as I was thinking about this I started looking up neo pronouns because maybe I want to use those. I did not. So then I looked up what French gender neutral pronouns are because I was curious.

Iel seems to be the most common, and alternate spellings, yel (I love that one) and ielle. Maybe those are just going to be my pronouns, yel.

But all jokes aside, I think I’m just going to flat out state, “Hey! You know I use all the pronouns right? I think I’ve mentioned it before!” And then see what happens.

i feel like counter-trolling is an essential skill that kids online aren’t learning and it’s kinda worrying

like back in my day, the day of online forums, learning how to trick someone in to getting themselves banned was an essential skill. if you could tell someone was a chud, you would ask them short, leading questions and watch them get frustrated and post longer and longer rants until they said something that would catch a mod’s attention and get them banned and/or at least publicly humiliated. 

and guess what? that’s the exact same tactics the alt-right use now. these people are exclusively acting in bad faith. every interaction these people post online is done with the intention of getting someone to respond to them so they can screenshot the massive paragraphs of text and laugh

so, what’s the solution?

dare ‘em to post dick pics.

don’t acknowledge the content of the stuff they post. if you see someone trying to engage you in bad faith just dare them to post pictures of their penis until they either get frustrated and leave or get frustrated and do it. either way they lose. 

this is the tactic used by the fans of a podcast (that i haven’t listened to) called the Chapo Trap House, and 4chan’s /pol/ users fucking HATE them. they hate Chapo Trap House and think they’re crazy because Chapo Trap House fans refuse to engage in meaningful debate and repeatedly demand dick pics. they get frustrated and leave. it works.

So, rowing. It’s a unique sport where you either absolutely fall in love or hate it. Right now my relationship with my boathouse falls in the category of toxic, unfortunately.

I’m a coxswain, which means that I sit in the back (or front depending on if it’s a four or eight) of the boat. My job is to steer, and ‘manage’ my rowers. Basically a mini-coach on the water who is supposed to be capable of running drills. I’m not.

Here’s why: YOU CANT JUST ANNOUNCE A NAME AND EXPECT ME TO CALL IT. Like girlie pop, this isn’t even my division I’m just here cause mine has too many coxswains and you don’t have any, you know I don’t have to be here if I don’t want to.

And then steering is a disaster with that specific coach because guess what?! MY PORTS AND STARBOARDS HAVE SUCH DIFFERENCE IN THEM! I’m not saying rowing is easy, I understand that it is incredibly hard, and I know line ups are difficult. But you have people who have only been here for like two months on the other side of someone who’s been here for five years!!!

And my boathouse?! So toxic. Two sisters (one on my division, one below mine), got booted. Because of an email asking if they could not pay for the month because they are taking a break. And one coach was like, okay thanks goodbye. And they’re gone now. And because of this, (older girl leaving) rowers are also leaving. So now I got three coxswains and four rowers on my division. I’m leaving, I swear.

I hate the lower division coaches and I’m always with them. This is because the coxswain on my side, is simply better than me. I have no trouble saying this as they are. They have better numbers, and run practice with less issues than me, therefore they are better than me. I care, and no one has said this to me, but she is always in the “A” boat, and with the higher division.

The coach on my division, is delusional. And I actually like this guy. He’s delusional because he thinks we can change the boathouse culture. But honestly.

It’s the coaches who make us toxic. And I don’t like it.
