Okay, hear me out, this movie is an underrated masterpiece!

If you're going through a break up, this is for you.

If you're moving out, this is for you.

If you're lonely, trying to find solitude this is for you.

And even if you're just a NYC obsessed teen, like me when I first watched it, this is for you.

It's an easy self-care watch. And aye, there is even a pinch of feminism. We stan that in a 2010's movie!

In case you finished Euphoria and don’t know what to watch next, I got u

I remember when I finished, I was so attached to this show and could not find anything quite like it.

And there is nothing like it, but here are some close enough recs.

5. Genera+ion

First of all, it’s staring Justice Smith, which should be reason enough to check it out. But apart from that it’s another show following different Gen Z teen lives.

The characters are fun and diverse.

The fashion is not too bad, but trash compared to Euphoria. However the teens were a bit too dramatic and stereotypically teen-ish for me.

But still, go try it!

4. Grand Army

Okay I know it seems overhyped. And there is definitely some flaws, such as Leila’s weird scenes. But this show had me hooked. There is something to hate as well as something to like about almost every character. It also touches up on loads of important social and political topics.

3. Skins

For obvious reasons the UK version, with a stress on the first three seasons. This is the blueprint for Euphoria and any other coming off age show of the 2020’s. If Euphoria was a 2010’s British show it would be skins. If you liked how character centric the Euphoria episodes were you’re gonna love this one!

Everybody should watch this show at some point. Just the right amount of trash mixed with some pretty sparkle.

2. I am not okay with this

If you’d mix up IT with Euphoria I’m pretty sure this would be the outcome. A similar narrative way of telling the story. But way less characters. And way more of a focus on the protagonist. Also close to no glitter and fashion.

1. You

This one might seem odd. As you is a mystery- thriller show and has few things in common with the coming off age genre.

However You, very similar to Euphoria is narrated by a sometimes unreliable protagonist.

5 NYC shows

Okay, here you find three classics you probably know and two shows you might not have checked out yet:

5. Pretty obvious, but still a great show

If you haven’t watched friends, you should definitely go watch it. I got to admit that I didn’t like the first season that much, but a couple seasons in I got really addicted. It’s such a classic and has 10 freaking seasons (reason enough to try).

4. Sex and the City

No way, you haven’t heard of it. But chances are that you, like me a couple of years ago, only watched the movies. But trust me, you need the show! This is it for all my fashion, y2k/90’s obsessed girlies. Carrie Bradshaw’s outfits are either to die for or to die of, depending on the episode. But overall, most of us would kill for her wardrobe.

3. Gossip girl

Blair Waldorf is my spirit animal to this day. Dorota (Blair’s maid/nanny/ friend) is reason enough to watch this show.

Besides, we all got to watch or re-watch this one before the reboot is coming out.

2. Girls

Okay with this one there’s a chance you actually didn’t watch it yet. Especially if you’re from Europe. I don’t remember it being big on tv here.

Anyways, NYC, 4 girlfriends, a narcissistic, annoying protagonist, what more could a good show need?

But honestly, the show is not that bad, plus Adam Driver is on it. A big fat minus on diversity though. For a 2010’s show this show has crap representation of New York City’s population.

I mean Zoe Kravitz is in it, reason enough to watch, what a freaking goddess. But honestly, name me one annoying character this woman has ever portrayed? There is a reason I have her as my profile picture..... Hulu should be cancelled for cancelling this show.
