okay i’m sorry but i saw another post today saying that annabeth wouldn’t take percy’s last name and i just have to say that that is simply incorrect.

Yes, Annabeth Chase is a bad bitch and wants the world to know that she don’t need no man. However, if you don’t think that she chose to be a jackson, what book were you reading?

Annabeth ran away when she was seven years old and her father just LET HER. the only attempt he made to fix that relationship for 5 years was sending her a ring. he didn’t go out to find her. he didn’t beg her to come back. he let her go. Not only that, he let her go for a woman who shut her out and told her that there was something wrong with her. Even when Annabeth did begin fixing her relationship with her father, i can’t imagine she would want to keep his name because he wasn’t the one who raised her.

the jackson’s on the other hand have shown her nothing but love, support, and stability since she’s known them. Percy Jackson is the person she loves the very most in the world, he is the first person to stay by her side through anything. Even when they were fighting during botl, they would still die for each other and supported each other. And it doesn’t stop at Percy, Sally and Paul love and support her as well. She even gets english help from paul and spends time baking with sally in tcotg.

I think she’d not only take on the name jackson but she would be ecstatic to do so. Being a jackson is something she’d be so proud of because to her it would mean that she is a part of something permanent and in a community of people who love her and spread love to others.

If anyone in the series isn’t taking their husbands last name on account of simply being a bad bitch, it’s sally jackson (and paul is completely on board with that)

Headcanon:

After Tartarus, Piper would constantly check on Percy and Annabeth. Especially as Piper looked up to Annabeth so much, it almost broke her to see Annabeth having panic attacks. But it wasn’t until she caught Percy staring at a wall silently crying that she understood the severity of their trauma.

After that, Piper was using charmspeak on a regular basis to calm them down. Especially at nights. She would help them fall asleep and essentially persuade their bodies out of survival mode so they wouldn’t jolt at every little sound. If one of them was panicking or dissociating, she would talk them back into reality. Sometimes her voice wasn’t powerful enough to do that, but she had to try.

After one particularly difficult panic attack from Annabeth, Percy and Piper had managed to get her to finally calm down and rest a bit. By the time she was asleep, Percy was almost in tears thanking Piper for helping them with a rib crushing hug. He admitted how he loved Annabeth so much, but he felt useless in helping her. So Piper ended up shushing him to sleep as well, and finally got up to let the two sleep.

Yeah, so basically Piper becomes the twos personal therapist, but she wouldn’t change it for the world. She was happy to finally use her voice for something good.
